Many years ago, evil forces invaded our world. Their power easily overpowered humankind, and they wished to destroy our way of life. However, a powerful force of warriors stood against them. They were as brave as knights and had the powers of magic on their side. It was a gruesome battle, but those knights managed to drive the evil away and peace has been brought upon our world. That evil has been sealed away...until recently.
At the moment, a young man sat at the top of a tree as he stared down at a small town. This town was known as Clover Meadows. He just couldn't stop starring at the marvelous city.
"Asta! Get down here!" He heard his name called and jumped down and headed towards a church.
"What's up, Yuno?" Asta said.
"We're suppose to help with the chores, so quit staring off into space." Yuno said as he handed Asta a basket of clothes. Asta took it and the two of them head for the church. "Why do you keep staring off to the town like that?"
"I can't help it. I just feel like there's something big out there, like I feel there's something out there for me." Asta said.
"You were always a big dreamer." Yuno said as the two of them went around back and met with some other kids with a nun and a priest.
"Look who's back. How about you make yourself useful, Asta, and do some work."
"Nash, that's not nice. Asta works just as hard as everyone else around here."
"Thank you, Sister Lily!" Asta said.
"Yeah right. You were staring off into space and thinking about those silly dreams you have." Nash said.
"I think it's great that Asta is so optimistic." The priest said as he took a piece of paper and gave it to Asta. "Asta, could you do us a favor. I placed an order at the grocery store. Could you go and get it?"
"Sure." Asta said as he took the paper and took off into town. Asta is a poor boy who lives in this church with other kids and a boy his own age named Yuno. They all try their best to work together and live together. One thing about Asta is that he has a big heart and that heart will help him with what's to come.

Underground
Down in the dark depths of the land was more than people thought. Down there was a dark castle, and inside that castle was trouble. With candles lighting the halls of this hall, three mysterious and ominous figures were making plans.
"Is it finally time, Dante?"
"It is, Vanica. The time has come. Soon, the gateway to the Netherworld will open up, and a new age of darkness will begin. Zenon, are the spades ready for the attack?"
"They are. I shall be the one to lead the charge. This world won't know what hits them."
"No fair. How come Zenon gets to have fun first?" Vanica asked.
"Don't worry about that, Vanica. I'm sure you'll get your chance." Dante said. "This is just merely the prologue. It took some time for us to get a hold of these powers, but the time has finally come. Humanity's end will soon be upon us." As the flames burned brighter, they emphasized the evil spirits with inside these people. Especially since their human forms are casting the shadows of demons.
...
Clover Meadows
Clover Meadows is a simple town and people live simple lives. One of the best spots to get something to eat is a burger place called Timeless Meals.
"Here you go. One Infinite Taste Burger." A lady with pink hair said as she served some food to a guy.
"Here is your order to go, and I be happy to take your number as payment. I made sure this meal is fit for a model like you." A guy said as he served some food, but the girl just brushed him off.
"Still flirting with the customers, Finral?"
"Don't hate the player, hate the game, Vanessa." Final claimed.
"Coming through!" An energetic young boy as he ran by and placed food at all the tables he could.
"Luck, slow down. You're going to spill something." Vanessa said. "We don't want a repeat of the fiasco you caused last week." She warned him, but that boy just wouldn't slowdown. While the three of them are working, a man came by to see how they were doing.
"Finral, Vanessa, Luck, all of you are doing great. Keep up the good work and one of you will be able to take over this place one day."
"I don't see that happening for a long time, Mr. Novachrono. You look great for your age." Vanessa said.
"Flattering, Vanessa, but you can just call me Julius." He said. "Now, if you three will excuse me, I have some work I must attend to." He made his way through a door and up the stairs, a set of stairs his employees can't get through.
"You guys wonder what's up there? I bet it's some cool equipment that can be used for fighting." Luck said.
"What is if with you and your desire to fight?" Vanessa questioned.
"It doesn't matter what's up there. You know Julius' rule: no one but him is allowed up there." Finral said. "Anyway, it's your turn to empty out the trash, Luck."
"Fine." Luck said. He walked over to a trashcan and grabbed a hold of the bag. He pulled it right out and was on his way to the dumpster to toss it. Just outside the door was a young lady walking alongside the road. Neither were really paying attention to what they were doing until Luck accidentally hit her with the trash bag.
"Hey! Watch it!" The girl said.
"Sorry. I didn't see you." Luck said.
"Is that so? Are you just blind or moronic?"
"Those sound like fighting words. You want to fight?" Luck said as he looked ready to rumble and the girl thought he was just weird. Vanessa and Finral saw what Luck was doing and hurried out before he would do something crazy.
"We are sorry about him." Vanessa said as she and Finral held him back. "We're really considering getting him on medication or on a leash.
"You should be with that beast." The girl said as she looked at them like a spoiled princess staring down at peasants.
"Help me! Someone help me!" They all heard an old woman calling out for help as many gathered to see what was wrong. "My granddaughter is in trouble. Something came out of nowhere and grabbed her. They took her into the woods on the other side of town. Won't someone help me?" She was begging for help, but no one would speak up.
"The woods? Does mean she mean those dark and eerie woods?" Finral questioned. "That poor girl is a goner."
"I thought you would have done anything to impress a girl." Vanessa called out on him being a coward.
"Won't someone please help? She's only a child." The old woman pleaded.
"I'll help!" All of them cleared out of the way and saw Asta speaking up. "I have to pick up an order at the grocery store, but I'm sure they'll understand."
"Hold on there, pal. You must be new around here." Finral said. "No one goes into those woods."
"I'm not new, I've lived here my whole life. I know all about those woods." Asta said with Finral being surprised he's still willing to go. "This lady needs help, and so does her granddaughter." Asta wasn't afraid to help someone who was in need of it.
"Hey! I want to go!" Luck said with excitement with others shocked he's offering. "It sounds like it could be a lot of fun!"
"I better go, too." Vanessa said.
"Vanessa!" Finral said with him surprised that's she going.
"Someone has to keep an eye on Luck." Vanessa said.
"I'll show you where." The old lady said as they headed for the woods.
"Those guys are brave fools. If they come back, they'll probably be considered heroes." Finral said. That sparked some sort of interest in the girl, and she didn't want to be left out either.
...
The Woods
"This is where I lost her." The old lady said as they were near the edge of the woods.
"Do you know what grabbed her?" Asta asked.
"No. It all happened so fast, but it was some sort of creature." The lady said. The three of them readied themselves for whatever is coming. They stopped for a moment when they heard a honk. They were surprised when they saw a truck drive up with Finral and the girl coming out.
"Finral? I thought you were too scared to come?" Vanessa questioned.
"Don't look at me. This girl made me come. She said she wanted me to give her a ride." Finral said. The lady was impressed that there were now five.
"I just figured you could use someone like me to help find that little girl." The girl said as she acted important.
"Are we suppose to know who you are?" Vanessa questioned.
"My name happens to be Noelle." She claimed as that was something they should have known.
"Either way, the more the merrier." Asta said as he turned to the lady. "Wait here. We'll go and find your granddaughter." He went on ahead with the four of them following after. As the four of them went inside, the lady was most pleased to see them go in before she vanished like magic. The four of them went deeper and deeper into the woods, but there was an eerie and ominous feeling to them.
"I'm starting to see why no one comes here." Noelle said.
"Yeah. What were those two thinking?" Finral said.
"I wonder where that thing is? I would love to fight it." Luck said.
"Easy, Luck. We're here for the girl, not to fight." Vanessa claimed.
"There's probably nothing here." Asta said as he didn't seem worried. "I'm sure we'll find her if we..." He didn't finish that as some guy in a cloak jumped out of nowhere and attacked them with them getting a good scare. "What's this guy doing?!" Asta tried to grab him, but he shook Asta off and kicked him back.
"Time to fight! Yes!" Luck said as he tried fighting the guy off, but the guy grabbed his leg and tossed Luck to the ground.
"Luck!" Vanessa called as she hurried to save him. She grabbed him and tried pulling him away from Luck, but he knocked her off.
"That's enough!" Asta said as he tackled him and he tried shaking Asta off. Noelle knew she had to do something. She grabbed a hold of a branch and went at him as she smashed it against his back. That allowed Asta to kick him back. Finral helped out as he placed himself on the ground. Vanessa and Luck kicked the guy back and he tripped over Finral. "Who the heck are you?! Did you kidnap the girl?!"
"Impressive. You five are the ones I'm looking for." The mystery man said. None of them understood what he was talking about. They readied themselves as he stood up, but he clapped his hands and they all mysteriously disappeared.
...
The Group
The five of them fell to the ground after they mysteriously just vanished from the woods. None of them knew what to think or expect after that. When they all got up, they found themselves in a strange place. It almost looked like the inside of a witch's place with a crystal ball at the center of a table and other stuff that looked creepy and mystical.
"What is all of this?" Noelle questioned.
"Where are we?" Vanessa said.
"I don't know, but this place looks cool." Luck said.
"Cool? It's creepy! We've been abducted!" Finral claimed as he was freaking out.
"Not abducted." All of them spotted the cloaked man from before. "I brought you here to share with you the truth."
"Who are you?" Vanessa said.
"I'm a little hurt. You don't recognize me." The man said. He removed his cloak and revealed himself to be Julius, to the surprise of Vanessa, Finral, and Luck.
"Julius?!" Finral said as they couldn't believe it.
"Luck... Vanessa... Finral... I always knew there was something special about you three. You can see why I never let you up to the top floor before." Julius claimed. At least now they know they're back at Timeless Meals. "Asta and Noelle, I know this our first time meeting, but I'm glad you are here as well."
"Julius, what is this about?" Finral said.
"Let me tell you all a story." Julius said as he used the power of the crystal ball to show them images as he told this story. "Years ago, our world was invaded by creatures from the Netherworld that we know as devils, the very embodiment of evil. I am part of an ordeal known as the Magic Knights. We fought this evil and managed to drive them away with our magic powers."
"Magic?! Magic is real?!" Vanessa said as she loved the thought.
"Very, but many people don't believe in it anymore." Julius said. "Though we are few in numbers now, we managed to drive this evil away and kept it safe. However, dark forces have been at work and I can sense the Netherworld seeping into our world again. That is why I have decided to take matters into my own hands and form a new team of knights to help vanquish this evil. Five brave warriors who would fight for this world, and those five are you. You have been chosen to be Power Rangers."
"Power Rangers?!" Finral said as none of them could believe this. "Come on! There's no way any of this is real!"
"I'm afraid this is no joke, Finral. Everything I told you is true." Julius claimed. "I can sense that you five have what it takes to protect our world from evil."
"How? Why us?" Noelle questioned.
"Fate works in mysterious ways that not even magic could explain." Julius explained. He called on his power and formed five round dark gold pieces of metals that were about the size of their palms. "These are your mana morphers. Keep them with you at all times, but never tell anyone who you really are."
"I knew it. I knew anyone could be something special." Asta mumbled.
"This is so cool!" Luck cheered.
"Hold on. I still don't believe this." Finral said as he was still defiant. He'll believe them soon as the crystal ball was alerting them of trouble.
"You'll believe soon enough, Finral. This might be rushed, but there's trouble." Julius said. Deciding that they need to act now, Julius used his magic and they all teleported out out of there.
...
The Woods
All of them were brought back to the woods with the five of them having a rough landing.
"You need to stop doing that!" Noelle said.
"You might want to look ahead." Julius said. When they looked, they were all surprised to see pitch-black figures wearing black chest armor and helmets with them carrying spears and had a spade right on their chests.
"What are those things?!" Finral said.
"Danger. They're called spades. Time to see what you can really do. I'll step in when it's needed." Julius said with all them surprised saying he won't help. There was no time to argue as they all came at them and attacked with Julius staying out of their reach.
"Get your hands off me!" Noelle demanded as she tried to get free. They just tossed her around violently. Even when she hit the ground, they grabbed her again and kept assaulting her. Asta managed to push one off him and tried tackling another, but he was pushed off with a spade kicking him down. Finral tried running for it, but a couple spades blocked his way. He kept trying to one, but one grabbed him and threw him against a tree. Vanessa tried keeping one back until she was finally able to push him off.
"Hands off." Vanessa taunted, but one hit her in the back and threw her down. Luck tried fighting them off as kept moving around and tried knocking them down. He tried grabbing one's spear, but he ended up being pushed back and slammed against a tree.
"Rangers, you're capable of using magic! To use magic, you just need to believe in it!" Julius said. It wasn't looking good as they all kept getting tossed around like ragdolls.
"What did he say?" Vanessa said as she was thrown against a tree. "We just need to believe? Well, I do! I believe in magic!" When she clamed that, threads flowed right out of her and wrapped around the spades with them being smashed together. Vanessa was amazed that she actually did that. "Guys! It works! Just believe!" They needed to start beliving. As Finral was cornered, a couple spades went at him.
"I believe in magic!" Finral said as he shielded himself. That was when a gateway opened and the spades fell in. They emerged in the sky and fell through the trees until they hit the ground. As for Luck, he was surrounded by the enemy.
"I believe in magic!" Luck claimed. That was when lightning shot right out of him and blasted all of them. Noelle was thrown to the ground and the enemy came right at her.
"I believe! I believe!" Noelle claimed. When she believed, a riptide shot out and splashed against them. As for Asta, he kept trying to fight, but it wasn't looking good for him.
"I believe, too!" Asta said. He expected something to happen, but it never did. That gave a spade an opening as he was attacked and knocked down. "Nothing happened..." The last of the spades gathered together and went right at him, but that was when Julius stepped in. He fired a powerful a magic attack that completely destroyed the spades. Julius is certainly very powerful.
"That was all so cool!" Julius said as they all gathered together. He was geeking out from all the magic he saw. "Those thread, the lightning, the water; all of it was amazing!"
"I can't believe we could really do it." Noelle said.
"Uh-uh. It happened because we believe." Vanessa reminded.
"This is incredible! Count me in for whatever is going on!" Luck said.
"I guess that means you all are in." Julius said as believed he found his team.
"It doesn't look like I can be." Asta said with all of them surprised he's turning down the offer. "Look at what happened. I tried and nothing happened. It looks like I'm not your guy." The other rangers can use magic, but it looks like Asta can't. If he can't use magic, how can he be a ranger?
To be continued...
