Enies Lobby opening: Sacrifice by 9mm Parabellum Bullet (Berserk 2017 opening)
"Stand up! As CP9, you are not allowed to fall! Your objectives comes above all morality and reason, for it is the World and peace that is at stake!"
"It seems like we're both two sides of the same coin, aren't we Gylzar? Defining Justice our own way?"
"That's the agent! Let's use him to send the World Government a message!"
"You scum…! Even as I descend to the depths of hell… my spirit will reap you until the end of your lives!"
"What is happening to my body?! What is this fruit?!"
"In theory he shouldn't even be alive, just what is that fruit capable of? Can we even trust him?"
"I want back into CP9, and its best you follow through with that demand. You know just as well as I that leaving me as an independent asset is far worse on your end."
"You're not a machine, no matter what you claim you've become."
"Do you see it now Saul?! This is the true depth of my power!"
"No! This isn't you! You're not a monster Gylzar!"
"Then you are blind!"
"Dereshishishishi… I somehow knew it would come to this. When I heard CP9 was deployed here... I knew in my heart that it would be you…"
"For treason against the Marines and the World Government, the punishment will be death."
"Take off that so-called mask of a tool... I want to see my friend… Only he gets to put the blade through me…"
"There is… no helping me…"
"No matter what you say… no matter what you do… I know there is still humanity in you, Gylzar! I will hold on to that belief! One day you'll return to that true self! Dereshishishishi…"
His eyes sparkled, his systems more or less fried, his body wrecked and broken.
"What… really… am I?"
He was aware he was still falling, the events that happened mere moments ago weren't something he could forget anytime soon. Pain was something he's very familiar with, being alive for a long time means you'd get your fair share, and he's been alive for a very long time now; even he forgot when exactly the Giga Giga no Mi slowed his aging to a crawl.
In fact, all the actions he's done under the banner of CP9, under the banner of the World Government is more or less a blur. Gylzar saw the mission's he's been sent on as just another task to complete. He expects no reward and simply completes the mission as told, with a little extra blood and guts strewn around at times but that's simply how it goes. It's been like that for a long, long time.
Maybe somewhere along that, the human part of him really did slowly die out. Hell, even many of his past interactions have been fuzzy at best. Contact and bonds with people were secondary, the mission always came first.
"Mission Objective…"
For decades, he's been the Blade of the World Government.
"Mission Objective…"
For decades, he's shed his inner self, becoming more or less a machine to carry out the will of Justice.
"Mission Objective…"
He is Gylzar, the Shadow of CP9. In the name of the World Government, there isn't anything his blades can't cut.
"Mission Objective… Acquire the asset containing the Goji-Goji no Mi, dead or alive."
His vision returned, the red lens charging back to full color as black bolts of energy began to course around him.
"'Beast Warrior' Gian… I will hunt you until the seas stain with your blood!"
Meanwhile:
"Key number 3… number 4… number 5! OW! That's the one!"
As the kairoseki handcuffs clattered to the ground, it even took her a couple of seconds to gather herself. Looking at her now unrestrained hands with disbelief, Robin finally knew it.
She was free.
"T-THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Spandam gawked "THERE'S NO WAY CP9 HAD BEEN DEFEATED!"
"Capture them! Shoot them both!" The Marine soldiers shouted before they trained their guns at the two. Franky grimaced before getting in front of the archeologist yet again, but it turns out he had no need.
Robin's mouth curved; the cuffs were off, which meant her hands were free.
And no time like the present for a little payback.
"Treinta Fleur: Clutch!"
A gurgle of pain sounded from each soldier, their bodies bound by arms as they appeared from their petals, forcibly snapping their spine. Robin's eyes were cold; that had been a long time coming. There was of course, one person above all that she will particularly relish this beating.
Spandam had it worst, the moment the arms sprouted from his torso, Robin had no intention of letting any of his past abuse go unanswered.
"Seis Fleur-"
"W-WAIT! HOLD ON-!"
"-Slap!"
There couldn't have been a more suitable punishment.
"Or that… you could do that…" Franky blinked.
"Y-YOU HAPH TO RESHTRAIN HER!" Spandam shouted for more reinforcements, his face now bloody from bumps after every hand strike he's endured. The marines charged, forcing the two on the defensive once more.
"SKREEEEOOOOONNNKKK!"
A heavy impact as the Fully Transformed Gian, standing taller than the Tower of Justice itself and wading in only knee deep water from his perspective, slammed his claws down into the sea, sending another wave forwards and scattering the group of marines. Spandam himself screamed as he scrambled to get away.
"'BEAST WARRIOR' HAS FULLY TRANSFORMED! FOCUS ALL FIRE ON HIM!" a multitude more rifles all fired in unison, their bullets raining down on the massive beast.
It would be an understatement to say that they probably would've done more damage had they thrown a pebble.
"I said LEAVE HER!"
And Marines fell around the bridge as if the sky rained them down. A single swipe was all it took, mere soldiers provided no resistance.
"He made it!" Nami pointed with a smile, back at the Tower.
"Just in time too." Sanji grinned.
"Then we won't lose now," Zoro smirked "As soon as Usopp gets down from roof, let's hurry on over as well."
And just like that, things seemed to be taking a turn for the positive.
"Man… I'm totally glad I didn't push him that far back at Dock 1…" Franky whistled in awe "I would've been killed!"
Robin said nothing else, her eyes were only trained on the titanic monster. At this point, Gian himself seemed satisfied with his handiwork, before slowly turning back to meet her gaze.
Their eyes met once again, and this time there was so much to say.
"Hey…"
Those eyes, full of fire and promising destruction to all that opposed him, it was a sight that many of his enemies had witnessed before. But those massive orbs didn't show any of that now, not to Robin at least. They only showed the feelings of a man, whose thoughts laid within the body of a titan.
"You came…" She whispered as she stumbled forwards "You came for me..."
"Of course I did… I promised you I would, didn't I?" a shadow cast over Robin as Gian leaned down, his massive head now inches from her, close enough to touch.
"WAAAAAHHHH! GO TO EACH OTHER YOU CRAZY FREAKS!" even despite the situation, Franky had to start the waterworks once again. The two of them just ignored it though, their attention was solely on each other.
Tentatively she reached out one hand, the feeling of his scaly head slightly hot underneath her finger tips. A low rumble sounded from within his throat, bestial to everyone else, but to her it was so much more: the voice of a guardian, her guardian. It really is rather ironic, a beast of legend that supposedly brought about destruction and violence in its rage, yet here in front of him she felt safer than she's ever been.
But wounds were still wounds, and their little moment was ruined not by soldiers or guns but a hiss of pain. It was minor, but enough for Gian to notice the multitude criss cross of cuts and bruises that lined her body. How Robin clutched her side, and how a trail of blood, now dried, sat at the corner of her mouth.
Not to mention the dried trail of tears that still lined her eyes.
His blood instantly began to boil; there was one person with her this whole time, and he knew exactly who it was. Even as the sound of desperate scrabbling, he could find him anywhere.
And Spandam was now scrambling to get away, hearing the gargantuan monster turn towards him only made him more frantic. He even tried to wave Funkfreed in an ill attempt to deter the beast. It was all in vain however, as he felt a large shadow fall over him as Gian massive hand crashed down on him. Dazed, the chief of CP9 barely even registered as he was lifted, only to promptly let out a shrill scream when he was brought to eye level with the now increasingly pissed off Gian.
"Oi asshole, you wouldn't have happened to know where all those wounds on my girl came from, do you?"
Spandam could only muster out a few sputters and stammers, ones which quickly turned to screams of pain as he felt Gian squeeze down.
"I asked you a question! Do you know how all those wounds ended up on my girl?!"
"I-I-I DIDN'T-! IT WASN'T-! I DIDN'T MEAN TO-!" Spandam's sobs were interrupted by another scream of pain as he felt 'Beast Warrior' squeezed down once again.
"So it was you after all," Spandam was now sweating buckets at the amount of venom in the Fully Transformed Kaiju-Zoan user's voice "and just when I thought there couldn't be more of a reason to kick your ass!"
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" the claw wrapped around him was constricting him further, Spandam could feel his bones beginning to pop as Gian slowly began to crush. Down below Robin and Franky could only watch, even the latter felt a bit disturbed; as much as he hated the masked director going out like that was just a terrible fate.
Robin on the other hand, had a more neutral expression. She's suffer far too much abuse at his hands, sympathy was the last thing on her mind. Not that she actively wished for the man to be popped like a grape, but she'd be lying if his screams of agony weren't just a bit satisfying.
"PUH-PUHLESH! I'M SORRY! FORGIVE- GAAAAH!"
"Are you seriously asking for mercy right now?! Even after all you've done?!" Sparks of blue cinders were forming at Gian's mouth as the Kaiju-Zoan user could barely contain his anger as he stared into the bloated face of the director "For every would you've inflicted upon her, I'm gonna return it to you tenfold!" His hand applied more pressure, eliciting another scream "I don't count myself as a sadist, but I'm going to make sure this process for you goes through very, very, slowly!"
Or at least that was the plan, if not for the sound of a massive explosion sounding in the distance. The group's eyes turned to see part of the fence around Enies Lobby blown asunder. Gian frowned at the sight; could it be?
His answer was confirmed as another blast erupted in his chest, causing him to groan and loosening his grip on the director of CP9. Spandam screamed as he fell, arms and legs flailing. He ended up falling on his noggin as his eyes rolled back as he blacked out. The fall didn't kill him, but he won't be getting up for a bit.
"Gian!" Robin's voice of concern brought his attention as he saw the archeologist race towards him "Are you alright?"
"Well, I never thought I'd experience how one of those felt, but it looks like we have a situation. The ships are almost here, that much we can be sure."
The cannonball was far different from the usual marine ships he was used to. Bigger in size, bigger explosion, and it actually kind of hurts. It's very clear that the Buster Call was almost here, they needed to get out of here quickly.
And there wasn't time to waste. Another blast sent the top half of the Tower of Justice toppling down into the abyss. It was fortunate that Usopp managed to sense that; he'd leapt off before the cannons struck, and was caught by Nami, Zoro and Sanji.
"Are you ok?!" Sanji asked.
"I think a few of my ribs are broken…" 'Sogeking' groaned.
"We have to get to where the others are, that was no doubt the Buster Call ships! Can you stand?" Nami asked.
"Everything hurts…"
"Then we'll have to carry him!" Zoro grunted "Let's move!"
"This way!" Kokoro, Gonbe, and Chimney waved as they pointed to the passageway.
All of them promptly raced into the tunnels with Chopper in tow, intent on reaching the Bridge.
"Since they haven't start firing in unison yet, I'm assuming those were just test shots, but we have to go now! Is there a ship anywhere?"
"There was a galleon sent to pick up Nico Robin, we can hijack that!" Franky pointed.
"It seems we won't have a choice, we'll have to take that ship." Robin gave a small smile and looked up at the Kaiju "Do you mind covering for me one more time?"
"Like you had to ask." Gian grinned.
But they will not get far, even as Robin took 2 steps she and Franky sensed the dreaded emotion cut through them. Her eyes wide and reaching out, she could only let out a scream.
"GIAN, LOOK OUT!"
Before the waters around them exploded as Gian let out a roar of pain; the crimson laser splitting around him, some scattering into the water.
"Shit…! I should've known that wasn't the end of it…!"
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" Franky shouted.
Even as Gian looked back, he already knew who it was. Though now, even he could hardly recognize the cyborg he faced mere moments ago.
"I do humbly apologize," blood red fins, 3 lined up behind on his back and floating in the air before crashing into the surf, Gylzar's Full Transformation was a terror like no other. His body lined with a pure black mix of skin that was more artificial than anything else, emphasized by the multiple titanium plates mish mashed around his body. The same buzzsaw on his abdomen, now larger, glinted in the sunlight. A robotic tail swept across the waves as his massive scythe-like arms clashed together. Gylzar let out a shrill roar from his new bird-like head, his bug-like mandibles clicking as his single crimson eye peered at the victims in front of him "but your escape will now be put on hold permanently!"
Meanwhile:
Both Luffy and Lucci were panting hard, both of them bruised black and blue from trading blows. Luffy's body ached with every move, while his opponent was gasping hard; even with Tekkai, those Gear Second boosted strikes came hard and fast. This fight was closer than he imagined.
Not that Lucci actively minded that, the more his prey struggled the more satisfaction he gets out of a fight. They always try to struggle to think it would make a difference, it makes the hunt so much better. This case however, he was on a timer. The Buster Call coming will fire indiscriminately, he could be caught in the crossfire if he took too long.
Which meant when the Aura of 'Beast Warrior' Gian washed over them, even he was slightly unnerved at the development. Meanwhile, the same thing had actually brought a grin to his foe's face; the minute Monkey D. Luffy felt his First Mate Fully Transform, along with the roar that followed, he knew the battle had just turned its tide and began doubling his own effort in order to win his fight.
Though as far as tides go, they can change without warning.
As Luffy reared back to deliver another strike, another sick feeling washed over him, enough to make him audibly gasp. The air was full of killer intent, pressing down on his heart like a multitude of sharp knives.
And across from him, Lucci bared his own fangs in a sadistic grin.
"So your nakama even pushed him that far?"
"What is going on?!" Luffy demanded, but Lucci didn't answer. Instead, Luffy found himself gasping in pain as the leopard man sprinted forwards and fastened his claws around his neck before throwing him across the room.
"Let me tell you a little something about how strength is measured in CP9" Lucci drawled "we have a numbering system that measures the power level of each individual in the World Government, known as doriki. Most people average about a 100, the average marine is about 10. Anything over 500 would be considered superhuman level. I myself happens to have a doriki of 4000, the highest that's ever been recorded for a CP9 agent."
Luffy gulped, he had a feeling this next part was something he was not going to like.
"Previously that rank was held by Gylzar's own 3940 doriki. In terms of pure physical strength alone, I am just able to slightly have the edge." Luffy gasped as Lucci used Soru and materialized in front of him, only managing to roll out of the way as he delivered a Shigan down hard, cracking the stone beneath them. "However, doriki only measures physical strength alone, it takes no account of Devil Fruit powers or anything else. In this case, with what he's just done, Gylzar's power level is simply immeasurable."
"In a sick way, I suppose you should be honored. Gylzar only uses the full power of his Kaiju when he truly wishes to annihilate a threat. It seems we've all stalled enough for him to realize that." Lucci grinned "but it won't matter now."
"Gian… Robin… Franky…" Luffy gritted.
"Save it, even you can't help them now." And as another screeching cry rocked the room they were in, Luffy's could feel dread creeping up from his soul.
"Accept that fact, 'Beast Warrior' and the others are as good as dead."
Meanwhile:
"I must say, it has been a while since I've took on this form." Gylzar chirped, his single ocular crescent observed the panting titan before him "Though, to take on another beast, you must become one yourself."
"This is your Full Transformation…" Gian gasped.
"In the flesh, and with it I will extinguish the last bit of hope you have." Gylzar growled "How do you think I should proceed? Should I flay your skin bit by bit from your back? Or should I cut into your arteries and run the oceans red?"
"YOU!" both heads turned to see Robin shaking below on the bridge, Franky trying to support her as she fell to her knees "I-I remember you now! Y-You were there that day… the day when Ohara..."
Back on the sea train, Gylzar had pointed out the fact that he had been present on the eve of Ohara's destruction, but the trauma of that day was too immense already for her to remember any specific individual save for a few. However, the form the assassin took on just now? She wasn't about to forget that anytime soon. The same chilling screech that sounded even above the cannons and fire, the same ocular laser that swept across her home island, incinerating hundreds in a second. And that dark shade she witnessed as she sailed away, the only survivor of a genocide. There could be no doubt about it, it was the same demonic bird-like head, whose sweeping hook blades tore the land beneath him.
"So your memory finally serves you. To be honest, the Ohara Incident has been a blur to me too, all those who perished were the same to me, just another target the World wants gone. Though there are memories that remain, a certain Jaguar D. Saul comes to mind."
"W-What did you do to Saul…?"
"Don't listen to him Robin!" Gian shouted "The past isn't going to come back and haunt you! You had nothing to do with it!"
"Had I not taken his life, he would've perished by cannon fire anyways. We were apparently friends at one point in my life, I owe him at least that courtesy, even if he was a deserter." Gylzar swept one of his scythe-like blades around him, forming a massive Rankyaku that carved its way through the air. Gian managed to bring his arms down, dissipating the air blade, but Gylzar was on the attack already, the two giant monsters crashing together sending forth a shockwave that caused the waves to churn further.
"But forget about Ohara at this point, it matters no longer. I can understand your animosity towards my director, but he is still my paycheck and I must request you leave him be. That being said, I will now proceed to claim the target of my objective."
"Franky, take Robin and get out of here!" Gian barked. The cyborg nodded and began to lead her away but Robin only ran to the edge of the bridge.
"I'm not leaving you behind again!"
Gian gave her a reassuring look, the other eye keeping focus on Gylzar as he charged too. The gargantuan beasts clashed against each other, causing to waves to fly asunder. Gian instinctively placed himself between the bridge and his foe, ensuring Robin is kept away.
"It's ok, I will be fine! I already promised to take responsibility for you back when we left Alabasta, didn't I? I'll see that through till the end!" His booming voice carried itself all the way to the archaeologist's ears.
Robin only nodded tearfully as she recalled the same words she said back then.
"Now, I'll hold him off! Go, Franky!"
"OW! Just leave it to me! Come on, Nico Robin! Trust that he'll be able to pull through!" Franky nodded as he pulled the reluctant Robin towards their getaway vessel, and even then she still casted a worried glance back every so often. With that out of the way, Gian turned his full attention back to Gylzar. With one herculean push he managed to put some distance between them. Gylzar chirped with malice, before leaping up into the air, hovering just above him.
"You know, you needn't go through all this effort just to defend that wretch, I was going to focus all my effort on you to begin with." The cyborg grinned sadistically "However, your actions are ultimately in vain, she still has one more thing to deal with."
*BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
And Gian's eyes widened as entire sections of island was torn asunder by explosions, the powerful blasts quickly began to strafe the land they were targeting. As the grinding of the gate further opening, he knew it was only due to one thing:
The Buster Call was finally upon them.
Meanwhile:
"Hurry! Don't get left behind!" Oimo and Kashi urged everyone.
The sound of cannons were not missed by those still on the island. The Galley-La foremen and the Franky Family were desperately trying to escape; the marines opposing them already trying to pack into a sea train. All thoughts of battle now gone, now there was only the sense of survival.
Even as the cannons fell around them, they could only run.
Down below, close to the bridge, Luffy could also feel the vibrations caused by the heavy cannons. Across from him, Lucci could easily sense his desperation, and he bared his fangs at the sight.
"You realize it, don't you? You're already out of time. The warships will destroy everything on this island, the rest of your nakama won't have any chance to survive."
"That's not true! They'll find a way out of this!" Luffy shot back. Lucci narrowed his eyes at that, before letting out a short laugh.
"Well, there could be a chance, you're right. I think it's only fitting then that I remove that possibility then! Rankyaku!"
Luffy could only gawk as the wind blade pieced itself into the walls of the chamber they were in, followed by a massive gush of sea water flowing in from the crack. Lucci's twisted smile told him everything he needed to know.
"W-WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
"In the off chance that a few of your nakama are trying to get here through the underwater tunnel, I simply decided to flush them out. Will they be the first to die or will it be you? Regardless, no one can help you now." Lucci sneered. Luffy clenched his teeth before dashing to punch him yet again, but the leopard man already Geppoed to the floor above them. He too ascended to the upper levels of the bridge tower, where he found the assassin already waiting for him.
The sounds of cannons were near deafening at this point, each blast shook the building slightly. Above it all he could hear the clashing of flesh meeting metal, and the roars of two massive creatures in battle.
"You must be worried about the fates of your friends? Have they or haven't they perished already?" Lucci taunted "I bet you're dying to flee from this place, to go and rescue them? You are the captain, after all."
Luffy gritted his teeth, his fist clenched "…No, I'm staying here to fight you!"
"I know they'll survive this, I believe in them! But if I let you go, you're just going to go after them anyways. So I'm keeping you here until this is all finished!"
Lucci smiled "Well said, I can see why you are the leader of your crew." Luffy then met his charge once again, Lucci's claw inches from his heart "But you forgot one crucial detail: when you die, I will kill them regardless!"
Another shrill screech sounded, following a roar of pain. It was close enough to rock the room.
"And I almost forgot," Lucci snarled "If I don't make it to them, he will!"
Meanwhile:
"Your hour oph reckoning ish here, Pirates! I told you you can't eshcape!" Spandam, now recovered from his unconsciousness, shouted in glee, his face still battered.
The bombardment continued with no respite, the sound of the cannons sang in a terrifying song. 10 warships, commandeered by 5 Vice-Admirals, the Buster Call is a display of pure military might like no other.
Each ship was absolutely massive, over 3 times the size of the average marine warship, the ones used for this mission were roughly the size of the Tower of Justice itself, easily towering over the Bridge of Hesitation where they were on now, and that was not counting the mast. The ships began to fan out across the water, getting into further position to rain fire down upon Enies Lobby.
It was this sight that made Robin relive every horrific memory 20 years ago.
"The bombardment is happening! Everybody run!" the remaining marines on the bridge all began to scramble.
"Come on, Nico Robin! We need to get out of here!" Franky urged, but the archeologist was paralyzed with fear at the sight of the massive ships sailing into the area. The same scene she saw 20 years ago were being replayed in the present, and it was an ugly reminder of what transpired that day. All the while, the ships sailed further, their blasting cannons rocking a person to their core.
And the 5 commanding officers overseeing the entire operation were stone faced in their goal. Justice is brutal, and Justice is swift. 5 Vice-Admirals, each a veteran of the seas, gathered to deliver this island onto its fate. The quintet of Momonga, Onigumo, Doberman, Yamakaji and Strawberry looked on with an unreadable expression on their faces.
"Now that we have evacuated as many personnel as we could, we can fully commence the Buster Call. You may fire when ready." Vice-Admiral Strawberry's tall hat was only balanced by his longer beard. The man stood at the stern of his vessel, calmly giving out a command.
"Target all of Enies Lobby" Vice-Admiral Momonga, a tall man with a stern expression and a black Mohawk and moustache commanded "Eliminate 'Straw Hat' Luffy and his crew. Though by the orders of Admiral Aokiji himself, Nico Robin is to be excluded and taken alive."
"Take particular notice of the Right Hand of 'Straw Hat' Luffy, the one who possesses the forbidden Kaiju-Zoan. As per the report of Spandam, director of CP9, 'Beast Warrior' Gian is currently in combat with CP9 operative Gylzar. Be prepared to secure his Devil Fruit when he falls." Vice-Admiral Onigumo, a tall marine with long shaggy hair, glared coldly at the rampage in front of him. Even as the rest of the soldiers aboard the ship clamored with concern, he only continued to observe. A distance away, Gian's clash with Gylzar send forth waves as they collided against each other over and over. Onigumo did not stir even as the waves spilled onto his ship.
"Shigan: Spear of Tartarus!"
"Giant Atom Fist!"
Gian's fiery punch met the thrust of one of Gylzar's scythe like blades; he was bleeding profusely from a slash to the forehead mere moments ago. Both Kaiju-Zoan users fought with the ferocity of an entire nation, bearing the wounds that resulted. The twin attacks collided with each other before sending out another shockwave, causing Gylzar to screech and once again take to the skies.
"Do you see the situation you are in now? The Buster Call has arrived, and you are out of time." Gylzar jeered from the air; the ability of anti-gravitational flight was one unique ability his beast granted him. "None of you can make it out of this one."
Gian grimaced as he looked around; each ship was nearly up to his waist, and some have begun to point their cannons in his direction. Instinctively he placed himself between Gylzar and the Bridge of Hesitation.
"I just have to make sure they make it then! Both Luffy and I pledged that we won't lose a single nakama, and I'll stand by that!"
Gylzar's beak-like mouth twisted into a sneer "That is, until you are slain!" his eye flashed crimson for a split second before the scarlet laser fired from it. The cluster blast scorched Gian's skin, causing the opposing Kaiju-Zoan to roar in anger before returning an Atom Ray. Gylzar cut through the air, the beam trailing behind him before veering back, his right arm lashing forwards in a swinging slash. Gian met the charge, ducking low to avoid the blade before rearing back up to deliver a tail swipe, batting the assassin off course and causing him to reposition.
The battle was observed by the Vice-Admirals, still in the midst of their bombardment. Onigumo took a puff from his cigarette before his lips curled into a grin.
"Tell Vessel number 4 to fire upon 'Beast Warrior', it's time we help CP9 bring a beast to heel."
No sooner did the order drop, the ship closest to the two Kaiju-Zoan users repositioned it's massive cannons before unloading an entire payload, the cannonballs striking Gian with gargantuan force. Close enough and with enough power to actually cause some pain, Gian groaned at the impact, so much so that he did not sense Gylzar circling through the air behind him, the buzzsaw on his abdomen spinning to life.
A spray of blood and a massive gash across the shoulder was enough to bring him back.
"Am I seriously going to have to deal with 2 things at once?!" he cursed, bracing himself as Gylzar flew into him again. The two titanic beasts collided again, each pushing for dominance.
"Load up the next round! Prepared to fire again!" the ship's commander ordered "Concentrate fire on 'Beast Warrior' and-!"
"Gomu Gomu no… GIGANT PISTOL!"
Then the walls of the bridge began to crack, and the tower leading to it suddenly burst open. A massive fist plowed through the stone, larger than any person's, sent another figure slamming into the wood of the ship.
"What was that?! Identify the source!"
"Grrr…." An animalistic growl alerted the crew, and they gasped to see who it was. One by one, the marines' eyes widened as Rob Lucci staggered up, the leopard man spitting out blood as he glared back at the hole that was made. To think his opponent still had another trick up his sleeve, and this one was actually enough to hurt him!
"T-That's Rob Lucci of CP9! How did he-?!"
"Gear Third!"
"IT'S 'STRAW HAT!'"
Luffy leapt through the air, his foot swinging upwards as he brought his thumb to his mouth. He developed Gear Third with the same thought process for Gear Second, in order to punch hard enough to easily break a Tekkai, he needed something powerful, but rather than increase his speed, this one showed an astronomical increase in his attack power, compared to before.
All he simply needs to do is expand the appendage used to attack. The marine's below screamed in shock as Luffy's foot ballooned into the size of a giant's.
"Gomu Gomu no… Gigant Axe!"
Like a massive sledgehammer, the giant foot crashed into the spot where Lucci stood previously, sending the marines that were unable to get out of the way fast enough flying into the sea. Lucci however was already back on the offensive, leaping over the foot and running up to it. Luffy noticed too late, and it wasn't until the assassin was upon him did he finally feel the pain.
"GROOOOWWWRRR!" completely in the form of a leopard, Lucci sank his fangs into the boy's arm. The two tumbled down to the deck, Luffy enduring the vicious mauling until he planted a foot into the leopard man's chest, kicking him away.
"That was an interesting move, rather than pumping blood, this time you forced air into your bones. Thanks to them being rubber as well, you can expand your limbs into a much greater size." Lucci noted as he got back up. His shirt had been discarded during the scuffle, his bare chest now shown to the world as the marines present on the ship gasped at the marks on his back.
"However, its power is offset by its lower speed. You caught me off guard only once, there will be no second time."
And Lucci lunged, claws out stretched as he met Luffy's own punch. The two skidded to the opposite sides of the ship's deck, all while the marines scrambled to determine how to help.
"Rankyaku: Hyobi!" Lucci announced, this time causing a wind blade from his own leopard tail. Luffy ducked under the blow, before stretching and twisting his arm.
"Gomu Gomu no Rifle!"
The scene was still observed by the remaining ships, the Vice-Admirals monitoring both fights in addition to their bombardment.
"All vessels, aim your cannons at Ship 4." Onigumo suddenly commanded "Fire all weapons to eliminate 'Straw Hat' Luffy!"
"What? But Sir! Rob Lucci and 1000 soldiers are aboard that ship! We can't-!"
He didn't get further, as faster than the eye can see 3 more pairs of arms sprouted out of the Vice-Admiral's back, spindly appendages more fitting for a monstrous spider than that of a man's. The soldier that dared to question the demand was hoisted up fearfully, brought to eye level with the Vice-Admiral's cold gaze.
"How do you expect to uphold Justice if you're so hesitant in coming to a decision?"
The sound of flying made the crew of Onigumo's vessel duck as Gylzar cut across the skies above them. The waters parted to indicate Gian stomping after him. As the cyborg turned back, eye flashing red, Gian wrapped his claws around the ship that momentarily before had showered him with cannonballs, bunching his muscles and exerting himself. With an almighty roar, the crew of Ship 4 cried in shock and fear as the Kaiju-Zoan user as he single-handedly lifted the ship from the water, before tossing it towards the flying cyborg to the shock and fear of the soldiers who witnessed the act. Each Buster Call ship was half the length of 'Beast Warrior's' Full Transformation, and half his height too! To extrude such physical power, surely this is a bit outrageous!
A flash of crimson however, and the entire ship was torn apart by an ocular beam. As the wood fell like rain, the same soldier who questioned Onigumo's orders now looked back in fear.
"C-Chujo! I didn't-!"
*BANG!
Onigumo accepted no excuses, his eyes cold as he watched the man fall, the pistol in his hand still smoking.
"Let that be a lesson! Never hesitate when criminals are involved!"
Meanwhile, the two monsters collided head on each again, neither giving an inch.
Until them both felt the smallest of taps on their head.
"Luffy? How did you get here?" Gian pondered "Don't tell me I almost threw you?"
"Gian! The ship just exploded!" Luffy realized. As the blast hit, he was only just barely able to escape the inferno and was sent tumbling through the air, only stopping once he landed on his First Mate's head. Others on that ship weren't so lucky; those who weren't disintegrated outright by the laser were now struggling against the tide. Luffy blinked around, observing the sight outside and was in shock to see just how many ships still remained, all still firing cannons non-stop.
"There's so many ships, are the others ok?" it was only then he realized that he was standing atop the head of his First Mate, and face to face with-
"Whoa! A giant robot chicken!"
"Heh… that's actually not really all that far off…" despite the situation the reaction managed to force a chuckle out of him.
"Why is 'Straw Hat' not eliminated yet, Lucci? You're supposed to be the Strongest agent CP9 ever produced, aren't you?" Gylzar growled, that last comment certainly didn't lighten his mood.
"I could ask you the same about 'Beast Warrior', it normally never takes you this long to finish someone off. Are you losing your grip, supposed 'Blade of the Word Government'?" Lucci replied, kneeling atop the crested head of his own teammate. He had returned to his hybrid-form, though now it was overall slimmer and more agile. His jacket had also been discarded, his torso completely bare and showing off the multitude of scars that lined his back in the formation of a cross, scars that had a deep history.
"Both of them are here now…" Gian noted, bracing himself. Four pairs of eyes, or at least 3 pairs and one very peculiar looking red ocular organ, locked with each other as the 4 of them sized each other up.
And for the first time in a long while, the clear skies of Enies Lobby became shrouded with clouds.
"It seems it's come down to this, we'll have the chance to eliminate them both here." Lucci growled.
"Well don't mind if I take them both out then, Lucci, you've had your chance." Gylzar's eyes began to glint. Lucci only scoffed.
"Just focus on your mission."
"Careful Luffy, they're both coming after us now!" warned Gian, getting into a fighting position "Get ready to hit them hard!" Luffy's determined face nodded, eyeing both opponents.
"Let's kick their asses together!" he declared, and not a moment after that proposal, Gian's dorsal fins strummed to life, glowing blue in contrast to the darkening sky.
"I was wondering when you'd ask!" as the azure beam of heat shot towards the two assassins. Gylzar screeched as he leapt over, before diving towards him with blades out stretched.
"Gear Second!" Luffy dipped into a crouching stance, a small pulse later and his body began to steam. The moment the two Fully Transformed monsters crashed together, he leapt off of Gian's head, making a beeline straight for Lucci.
"Gomu Gomu no Jet Pistol!"
"Shigan: Madara!"
Lucci, taking a full powered punch to the torso, had to power through the entire thing due to sheer tenacity. A rapid fire finger jab was enough to keep Luffy at bay as he skidded backwards. As the two Kaiju-Zoan users both reared back and delivered another blow, their massive frames were used as platforms for the much smaller fighters, both battling it out multiple stories high in the air.
As the titans clashed alongside their leaders, the ships below sailed around them. Aboard one of them, Vice-Admiral Doberman observed the battle with a stern expression.
"Chujo, both Rob Lucci and Gylzar of CP9 are currently clashing with 'Straw Hat' and 'Beast Warrior', but Nico Robin is currently defying the troops still on the bridge. Should we deploy reinforcements to capture her?" a solider reported, but the Vice-Admiral shook his head.
"There will be no need. With those two at the helm, these criminals won't escape." Doberman responded. His scarred face and serious expression showed that he knew more than he let on.
"Sir, with all due respect, those two are preoccupied, it would be easier to-" the soldier tried to coax, but is only waved off.
"Let me tell you a story about those two that are displaying Justice for the World to see." Doberman explained "You are currently looking at the two finest specimens CP9 has ever had in their regiment. To say their accomplishments, you have to look at each individually. One such story spoke of events 15 years ago, a kingdom in the middle of crisis. 500 of their soldiers captures by pirates, the leader demanding a ransom of the throne itself! When that very kingdom very nearly accepted that absurd notion, a boy sent by the World Government had snuck into the pirates' hideout on a mission on his own."
"Don't tell me, he saved all of them?" at that Doberman only shook his head.
"No, he ended the lives of those 500 hostages himself! When the pirate captain, white with rage and demanding an answer, that boy only had this to say!"
"Those soldiers had surrender themselves to evil, they're just as much to blame. A soldier who kneels to evil is no better than the evil itself, so in the name of Justice I killed them myself."
"The pirates tried to kill him for ruining their plan, but found out that their cannonballs merely bounced off his skin! Then the boy slayed each and every one of the scum that remained, all while bearing the scars of the World Government itself." Doberman finished "That boy was none other than a 13 year old Rob Lucci himself, his Dark Justice flowed through the very veins within him even at such a young age!" and at the conclusion of that story, it seems that the two World Government agents were beginning to push back, with Lucci planting a Shigan deep into Luffy's chest before violently throwing him towards the water. While the rubber boy managed to reach out and grab onto part of Gian's lumpy skin, his First Mate had to bear the brunt of another scythe blade swing across his chest.
"A-And the other story?" the marine soldiers that asked blanched at the grisly tale. And Doberman actually let out a low grin.
"The other tale, is one shrouded much more in secret. So much so that some have passed it off as mere legend amongst the World Government. According to that event, we'd have to go back to 85 years ago, when the man that would become the weapon he is today was still a mortal man."
"85 years ago?! How could he still be alive?!" the marines gawked. Doberman ignored them as he continued.
"There was a weapon's facility that belonged to the World Government, one that contained prototypes of weapons of mass destruction. Somehow a few groups of pirates had discovered its location, and have formed an alliance in an attempt to invade the island the facility was located on. 3 Cipher Pol units of that generation had been deployed to put an end to the alliance, but by the time they arrived the pirates have already gotten their hands on many secret weapons that were stored there. The ensuing battle wiped out every member of those units, and it seemed everything was lost. That is, until the pirates found that one member had survived."
"It couldn't have been?"
"That man, a representative of the same CP9 you know of today, stared defiantly at the leader of the pirate alliance. Even as he was captured and tortured, even as his body bled out and both of his arms were claimed, the pure fire in his eyes was enough to make the pirates pause. But it was the next words that came out of his mouth that they knew, they had one weapon they did not contain.
"You all cling to some weapons you were led to believe may help you gain power. But the real weapon is no mere bomb or cannon, but the very rage of those who are slain by evil! And to deliver retribution to that evil, is the very nightmare that haunts your deeds!"
"There was a Devil Fruit located in that facility, one that the pirates had just missed and the man had taken in a last attempt to prevent it from falling into their hands. It was not a weapon those pirates have brought upon themselves, they realized as they were purged from the world, but a horror from an era long before ours! They had come to believe power to be theirs, but they had only unleashed destruction upon themselves." Doberman finished as he slightly adjusted his cutlass "Or at least, that's how the story went. All records of that day had been purged, all information redacted. However, the monster that had been unleashed that day is real as it can get, and he has stalked the shadows of CP9 for decades since then. Had I not seen the beast's capabilities myself, even I would've been skeptical, but there is no doubt about it."
And that same horror just so happened to screech at that particular moment, jolting the marine soldiers out of their attention. Gylzar seemingly pointed one blade at Gian, said curved appendage crackling with red energy.
"Shigan: Scythe of Hel!"
But the intended target wasn't even his Kaiju-Zoan foe, but an airborne Luffy that was knocked back by one of Lucci's strikes. The rubber boy screamed as the energized blade cleaved towards him, having to roll his entire body through the air as the blade narrowly cut past him, but it wasn't nearly enough to avoid as he was blown off course before slamming heavily into Gian's chest.
"Luffy!" Gian cried out as he raised a claw to catch his gasping captain, but Lucci was already on the attack. Geppoing up into the air, the leopard man snarled as he twisted his body and swung his leg in a wide crossing arc.
"Rankyaku Gaichou!"
"Damn it!" seeing the attack aim for Luffy, Gian attempted to cover his captain with his other hand. It was only then that he realized too late that the attack was never meant for the Straw Hat Captain.
It was aimed at him instead.
This air blade, a massive cross shaped cut akin to that of a screeching bird and far stronger and deadlier than any other, carved itself deep into the underside of his jaw. The resulting explosion from the attack actually managed to stun him momentarily, before his felt the sharp pain of Gylzar's other scythe arm dig into his side. With one deadly swing, the cyborg avian beast sent him stumbling, his footing disorientated until he actually crashed into the tower at the end of the Bridge, where Luffy did battle before. All the while Lucci only calmly landed on the flat side of Gylzar's blade arm.
Gian groaned; It was enough to place him in immense pain, and the sound that followed did little to calm his nerves.
"GRROOAAAWWWRRR!" Lucci let out a roar, one that would let even real life leopards quake in fear. The deadliest man in CP9 didn't get that title for no reason, and he had just demonstrated.
Of course, that was soon overshadowed by a much more sinister sound, one that foretold more blood to be spilled.
"KHIAAARAAHHHAAAA!"
It was a sound that was more metallic and machinelike than anything living, to Gian and Luffy it drowned out even over the thundering cannon fire, and more than nearly made the panicked cries of Franky and Robin far down below on the bridge seem unnoticeable. As they glared back at the two assassins, they realized the meaning behind it.
It was a challenge, not to fight or persevere, but to survive. Survive and struggle for as long as possible before the two assassins brutally killed them where they stood.
And all this was witnessed by the Vice-Admirals, who only recognized the brutality of Justice.
"So in conclusion, what I'm trying to say is that there's simply nothing we can do that those two aren't already going to do." Doberman explained "We simply need to continue the Buster Call and eliminate the other criminals present."
"For the two that stand before us, they're truly the strongest killers CP9 has ever produced."
A/N: We're in the home stretch now, the final battle of Enies Lobby has begun! As you can see, rather than two individual fights, this one is going to be a tag team battle where both leaders are fighting alongside their individual Kaiju-Zoans! I wanted to try to get the climax of one of the best arcs in the series and give it my own unique spin, and I hope this can make up for some of it. While we're usually used to one-on-one battles, here I'm really trying to set up future team ups, and nothing better than a tag battle alongside giant monsters!
Now, to address a few things: First of all is Gian's size. I know I've said in the past that Gian is bigger than Oars, but to be completely fair there isn't really much of an exact number for most sizes. I've actually had to go find a fanmade size comparison video to go off of and, well let's just say Oars is a lot smaller than I thought he was. So from now on, disregard all I've said before. All Kaiju Full Transformations will be based on the size of their most recent incarnation, unless it's stated specifically which version the monsters is based on. Since Gian's pre-timeskip look is the FW version of Godzilla, his current size is 100 meters tall and 100 meters long. That's how Toho Kingdom lists it anyways. Meanwhile, Gylzar's Full Transformation is 120 meters tall, based on Final Wars Gigan's size, and so forth for every appearance of Kaiju-Zoans from before and hereinafter
G: Wow, way to give away the identity of the monster.
Oh, come on! It's not like people haven't figured it out already.
The other thing is Spandam, and a lot of people are probably gonna be upset at this decision, but I will say right now, Spandam will not die this arc despite everything.
*And suddenly KP360 had to duck as a barrage of rotten vegetables were flung at him.
HOLD ON!
G: NO, WE WANT BLOODSHED!"
WHY ARE YOU A PART OF THAT?!
Before anyone else throws anything I want explain myself! You see, Spandam might not die here, but his part in the story of another is not over yet! The key word is YET, as now I have plans for him involved with someone else, and if you've been reading this chapter so far, you might have an idea on who it is!
But more details on that later, we have the rest of the final battle next chapter! And until then, thank you for the continued support!
Responses to Reviews:
To Matt:
G: I wonder who would I be?
They literally made a movie and there was a Pro Hero based on Godzilla
G: No, give me a main role!
Fine, Gigantomachia

To Girlbook:
And it continues next chapter!

To Canadian Magus:
It's a pretty fun fight for sure.
To Raidentensho:
A new title is coming, I will say that much, but it won't be for a while.
To MikeySilverLance:
G: Isn't he a sword?
I'm certainly playing around with that idea.
G: I do support saving pachyderms for sure.
To Ragnas Bredvolt:
G: Another fan of the sword elephant…
This seems to be a popular topic
To QuestionMan:
Aura is similar to Haki, and quite similar in strength though both have their uses and are different in that regard and each have their unique strengths and weaknesses. More on it will be revealed in later chapters, as it'll become quite important for Gian later. For now, I'll say this much: Haki is spiritual energy, while Aura is natural energy.
And if I remember correctly, as long as most of a DF user is still above water, their powers won't be nullified. As you can see here, the seas around Enies Lobby only goes up to Gian's knees, so still safe in most regards!
To Story Artist:
G: And here it comes!
You'll see the rest of the crew's reaction soon after! They'll all see it!
To biowolf864:
G: That song bangs I'll tell ya that!
I am certainly enjoying that and it does fit here!
To Kaiju Avenger:
G: We did torture him a lot here.
Sometimes humiliation feels better than death.
To Supermechaforce8:
G: They really want me to shack up with a pet don't they? Between sword elephant and this thing?
Honestly at this point I may as well just go for it.
To PIZZASAURUS REX:
As you saw last chapter, he could sort of form the shape of Gojira from Aura, and as the story goes on, there will be more additions to it.
To ClassicUSmONSTER:
G: We do subversions in this house!
Gotta love themes!
To E:
G: Dammit, why didn't we update?!
I really need to write birthday stories eventually.
To Writing Warrior:
This chapter reveals a bit more of what happened, and eventually you may get more revealed too. I'll tell you now, I have a few plans for Gylzar after this.
G: And again with Sword Elephant! It's like he has a fan club for something so minor!
You gotta admit it's kind of a cool idea
G: never said it wasn't
To Guest:
G: I like this guy already.
You definitely will more soon.
To Music Master:
I definitely listen to those when I write the chapters.
G: A lot of those songs he's definitely imagined for some of the scenes you see in the story.
Also I see myself as a Black Eagle myself.
G: I thought you said you were Golden Deer?
…I can like multiple things
G: whatever, just buy the damn game soon.
I can't… I have to save money for Animal Crossing…
G: Oh for fuck sakes…

G: We love women in this house
I don't think that was what the question meant…
G: Well it's the truth.
And that's all for this time! We'll see you again soon!
Leave a Review and Gian will form a rescue team!
G: You have so many games you want but not enough money for all…
