Chapter 53. I assure you everything would go well!
Lucy began to write to all her family and friends. The fireplace was occupied every day. She told her friends that Hans was going to get married.
—Strangely enough, everyone thought it was Della who was going to get married!
Even relatives and friends who wrote back the letters with words that "Della must be the most beautiful bride that day!"
Lucy had to make the announcement and explain that it was her eldest son Hans, and his girlfriend, not her second daughter Della, and Fred of the Weasleys.
But rumors always spread faster than the truth.
This morning, the Weasleys, Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley, visited their house with all the family members.
It's all of the Weasleys.
Including two sons, Charlie and Bill, who had graduated and worked and were not living at home.
They came for one thing, if it's true, then, they were here to propose a marriage. That's why they called all the members in the family.
Della hadn't got up yet. She didn't get up before 10 o'clock after the summer vacation.
When Lucy found out their business, she quickly explained, "no! I didn't say that Della was going to marry Fred! It's my eldest son, Hans! He's going to marry his girlfriend!" Lucy hastened to asked the Weasleys to sit down. The dining table in the room was suddenly enlarged and popped up enough chairs.
Molly said, "oh, you have a good table! We need to put two tables together when all my family sit down."
Lucy brought milk, juice, as well as plates, and invited the Weasleys to have breakfast.
"No, no, we're full." Arthur said, he was a little embarrassed and put on his best clothes to show his solemnity.
He whispered to his wife, "I've told you that!"
Molly gave him a prod and smiled at Lucy.
It was she who heard that Della was going to marry with Fred. She was immediately startled! She's the groom's mother and she didn't know it?
She hastened to asked Fred and George, but Fred didn't know.
She thought it was another prank of this son, maybe he deliberately kept it from the family!
Fred was dazed and anxious: "No, I don't know! I haven't heard she talk about it. I mean, if she wants, why doesn't she give me a sign or something?"
George responded to his brother's inquiring sights: "I don't know, neither. Don't ask me, mom. Where did the news come from?"
Molly: "Sally heard from Ellie, Ellie listened to Sissy's mother, and Sissy's mother heard from Mrs. Bush."
So, the news came from the Bush family.
Arthur thought there must be a misunderstanding.
But before he back home and drew that conclusion, Molly had called all her sons back and decided that the next day, that was today, they would come to visit the Bush family.
Molly: "Just a regular visit." She looked at Fred kindly, "maybe you can have an engagement first."
For this reason, Fred also wore his best clothes. From the moment he came in, he was like being put on a stiff spell, and the chair was covered with cocklebur.
George had been telling him to relax.
Bill comforted Fred: "Don't be afraid. Maybe Della doesn't want to marry you at all. So, you don't have to worry about your performance."
Charlie nodded. "Yes, maybe she won't even be engaged to you."
George rolled his eyes. In the Weasleys, it's a tradition for elder brothers to bully their younger brothers. So Ron shouldn't have a grudge against them.
Lucy called three or four times at the stairs until she heard Della's answer.
She gave a polite smile to the Weasleys, especially to Fred: "She'll be down soon."
Hans remembered something when he heard the footsteps. He looked around anxiously and said quietly to Hannah, "go to tell Della to dress well and comb her hair before coming down!"
Hannah obediently went down from the table and met her sister at the door of the dining room. She stopped her and repeated Hans' word, "Della, you'd better go back and change your clothes, and comb your hair."
"Why? It's just breakfast, not a date." Della replied, bypassing her little sister.
Standing at the door, she suddenly found that there were a lot of people on the table today.
Two rows of people sitting on both sides of the table with red hair.
A familiar red-hair sprang up from the chair and smiled to her with a red face, "hi, Della." He had a stiff hand-waved.
"Hi, Fred." When Della saw him, she moved forward, waved hand and smiled to him in a reflex action.
Then she froze, and her sight fell down to her feet.
It's summer.
She didn't even wear slippers.
She was barefoot, in her pink waterdrop pajamas she had been wearing for three years.
And she touched her hair, which looked like a litter of straw.
Then her face began to grow more terrible.
At the moment of Fred coming up to her!
Della turned around and ran back upstairs as fast as she could.
Fred saw his girlfriend look at him in horror and run away, like he's a can of rotten frogs.
He turned back in shock, with puzzled and fearful expression on his face, he looked at others and showed a stiff smile, explained: "I don't know why she ran away?"
It's hard on the eyes to see his twin brother become so stupid, George came up and pulled him back to sit down: "she just went back to change clothes."
Bill shook his head and sighed, "naïve Fred. I don't think… Hum…" He patted him comfortingly.
Charlie: "Oh, Fred. I think you need to have a mental preparation. Maybe it won't go as well as you think."
George couldn't stand it: "come on! He will take it seriously!"
Bill and Charlie both snickered.
Bill: "Hey, it's just a joke, between brothers. You won't take it seriously, will you?" He looked at Fred and saw that he was bowing his head to his plate.
Bill turned to George: "He won't take it, will he?"
George had to double his comfort to his twin brother: "Hey, bro, your Della is just changing clothes. Didn't you see what she was in? Della loves you, she loves you, believe me! Later when mom asks you proposal, you just need to go to her and put the ring on her, everything will go well! I promise you!"
