"Vanessa, let's go!" Her mother called. Vanessa came down the stairs and didn't like what they were doing.

"Mom, I thought we've been over this. I don't want to go into business." Vanessa said.

"And I told you that this is not up for negotiation." Her mother said. "Your into this magic stuff, and I told you that the way of business is fate." Vanessa's mother was stubborn about getting her daughter into business and it seems like she's not making a choice. "I think once you see how I work, you'll finally come around." Vanessa had her doubts about that. "Now, the first thing you will need to know..." Before she could explain anything, they heard and saw explosions happening in the city. "That's strange. What do you think is going on, Vanessa? Vanessa?" She turned around and noticed her daughter was already gone.

...

The Rangers

Once Vanessa saw the explosions go off, she hurried as fast as she could while also getting away from her mother. The rangers were morphed and ran straight into the city.

"This is where the explosions came from." Finral said.

"Keep your eyes open. There's got to be trouble around here somewhere." Asta said as they didn't know what to expect. All of a sudden, something combusted right in front of them. As they tried to resist the flames, they noticed something coming out of the flames.

"Rangers!" They found the source of the explosions. This devil was burning red with him having the body of a lizard. He had a series of curving spikes coming out of his back with glowing yellow eyes and horns coming out of his head. His most distinct feature was that he was radiating like he was generating heat. "I knew you would come sooner or later. All I had to do was make a few explosions. Gives me the chance to do this!" He wasted no time with attacks and breathed out a mighty blast of fire that hit all five of them.

"And I thought Vanessa was hot stuff." Finral said.

"This one looks like will be fun." Luck said.

"The name is Salaburn. Thought you like to know who is about to destroy you." He didn't waste a second as he continued to attack them. He began by firing multiple shots from the tips of his fingers and was able to shoot all of them. Salaburn didn't stop there either as he charged at them. He smashed his claws against each of them and knocked each of them around.

"I've heard of fighting fire, but this is ridiculous." Asta said.

"In that case, let's cool him down." Noelle said as she used her water magic. She unleashed some of it and blasted him with it. Steam actually came off his body from the attack, but he was able to walk through and he was still generating some powerful heat.

"You're going to need more than a little water to beat me." Salaburn claimed with him being so cocky. He unleashed more flames at them and each of the rangers got blasted hard by the attack.

"Whatever happened to water beats fire?" Noelle questioned.

"I got him!" Vanessa claimed as she tried using her threads on him, but the flames burned in an instant. "No way! My threads burned in an instant!"

"He's like a walking inferno!" Finral said.

"You can't put out this hot fire!" Salaburn claimed as he unleashed another powerful blast at them and they all got hit hard. "I'm bored already. I thought beating you guys would be more fun."

"We're not beaten yet." Asta claimed as he tried to get back up.

"Perhaps. I certainly don't want the fun to be over too soon." Salaburn said. "Let's play some more later. I'm going to enjoy seeing you all squirm." Salaburn turned away and took off.

"Hey! Get back here!" Asta called, but Salaburn was gone. "Anyone else thinking that lizard is a little twisted?"

"I'm more concerned about the firepower he's packing." Noelle said. They could see they're in a tough situation now.

...

Salaburn

"What a bunch of pathetic little fools." Salaburn said as he was arrogant and saw no threat in the rangers.

"If that's the case, it shouldn't be any problem finishing them." When he turned to see who it was, he ended up getting thrown against a wall by Vanica. "Dante wants you to destroy the rangers. If you think they're pathetic, which I agree, you should have just finished them."

"Don't worry, Vanica." Salaburn said as he acted like there was no worries. "I don't want it to be over too soon. Let's stretch out the rangers' misery."

"Stretch it out? I like your style." Vancia said with a change of attitude. "I like your style, but you better destroy them in the end."

"Not a problem." Salaburn said as he can't see what could go wrong.

...

The Rangers' Base

"This one will be rather tough to beat. No wonder he sounded so cocky." Julius said as they were all looking over what they could about this monster. "This monster is a reference to the mystical powers of the salamander: generating their own fire, and it seems like this one's flames are more powerful than average."

"But a real-life salamander actually hates fire." Vanessa said.

"They do?" Noelle questioned as she thought that was weird.

"Either way, we need to keep those flames under control before he hurts someone." Asta said. "Noelle's water magic wasn't enough."

"I'm afraid the heat generated from his body can't be put out." Julius said. "You'll have to be weary of his attacks." Sounds like the rangers really do have a tough opponent. Meanwhile, there's another matter to handle.

"Vanessa! Vanessa, where are you?!"

"Oh no. Is that Mom?" Vanessa said as she didn't like where this might be going. She went on down to see what her mother would be doing there with the others following. They all went downstairs and saw Vanessa's mother, not happy. "Mom, what are you doing here?"

"That's what I should be asking. Did you really think you could disappear on me?" Her mother said.

"My friends needed my help, that's all." Vanessa said.

"Yes... I'm sure they needed your help with flipping burgers and grilling hotdogs." She clearly wasn't happy with her daughter and thought she was just making excuses. "Where is the manager?"

"That would be me." Julius said as he stepped forward.

"Good. I'll make this quick and simple. I'm buying this little restaurant of yours." She directly said.

"Excuse me?" Julius said as none of them like the sound of that.

"Mom, you can't do that!" Vanessa said.

"I can and just did." Her mother handed her over a paper to Julius that detailed everything. "You have about seventy-two hours to gather all your stuff together and get out. You're lucky I'm being merciful or else I would have you out now."

"Mom, why do you even want to buy this place?" Vanessa asked.

"So you won't be as distracted by this place anymore." She didn't leave anything up for negotiation as she just turned around and left. Vanessa couldn't believe her mother would actually do something like this.

"I can't believe this. She can't just buy this place." Noelle said. "She even came out and admitted that she just wants to close this place down. Probably going to use it for storage or whatever."

"It's an even bigger problem than she realizes." Vanessa said. "She could go up to our base, find all that magic stuff, and learn that we're the rangers." If it's discovered that they are the rangers, they'll all be in great risk for that.

"Vanessa, what is your mother's deal? I thought she lighten up about you going into business." Finral said.

"You thought wrong." Vanessa said. "She says that it's my fate to go into business."

"Your fate?" Asta questioned.

"She knows I'm interested in magic." Vanessa explained. "She's trying to use it to twist me into business, saying that it's my fate."

"Your fate? That's what she claims, huh?" Julius said. "Well, that isn't really how fate works. Fate, destiny, or whatever you want to call it comes from the choices we make. It's still your choice, Vanessa. You control the strings of your own fate, not your mother. You need to get her to see that."

"I will." Vanessa said as she took those words to heart. She ran off to try and stop her mother from doing anything.

"I sure hope Vanessa can talk some sense into her crazy mother." Asta said. "We don't want to lose this place."

"Nothing has been determined yet." Julius said. "You all keep an eye open for that monster. I'll do what I can to find a way around this. We're not loosing Timeless Meals." None of them want to lose this place, but they have enough problems on their hands.

...

Vanessa

Vanessa hurried after her mother. She's not going to let her own mother do this to her or her friends.

"Mom! Get back here!" Vanessa said as she was able to chase down her mother to stop her.

"Vanessa, I know what you're going to say. There is nothing you can say or do that is going to make me back out of this. This matter is not up for discussion."

"How can that be when there was no discussion." Vanessa said as she prevented her mother from going anywhere. "You can't put that place out of business just because I don't want to go into stupid business like you."

"You watch your tone, young lady."

"I think you're the one pushing your luck because you went too far." Vanessa said. "So what if I like working there or whatever. You can't ruin all of that."

"Vanessa, I've heard enough of this. No more excuses, no more tricks, no more anything. It's time for you to think big with your life, have it secured. You are going into business to have a successful life."

"You mean the life you want me to have, not the one I want." Vanessa said as she wasn't having any of it. "I like my life the way it is, and it's not fair of you to try to run it. Shouldn't any of this be my choice?"

"Vanessa, I am not going to argue with you about this. This is the way it should be for you." The mother and daughter stared each other down as neither of them were backing down.

"No." Vanessa said. "Julius showed me that fate and destiny is something that comes from the choices that I make, not you. The reason I don't want to go into business and work in some office is because I'll feel like I'm a bird trapped in a cage. I want to be able to roam free, and freedom is something you won't take from me." Standing by what she said, Vanessa turned away from her mother. "This isn't happening. I'll help Julius find some way to get out of this." Vanessa's mother couldn't believe how defiant her daughter is, but Vanessa is taking fate in her own hands. Vanessa walked away until she heard her morpher alerting her about something. She opened it up to see Julius. "Something wrong?"

"A building is on fire, and I'm sensing dark forces at work in that area." Julius said. "The other rangers are on their way. You better hurry and join them." Vanessa understood the situation and got moving so she can help her friends. She's not going to let anything happen to her friends, whether its her mother or a monster.

...

The Rangers

A building was caught on fire. When dark forces were detected around there, the rangers hurried over and tried to help out and get the place evacuated. Noelle used her water magic to try and douse the flames, but the flames were spreading fast.

"I can't use so much water or else the building could collapse. Hurry, guys. Get everyone out of there." Noelle said as she was trying to keep the flames under control. While Noelle was trying to douse the flames, the boys were making sure everyone was out of the building.

"Luck! Finral! Is there anyone left in the building?" Asta asked.

"I don't think so. Everyone got out." Luck said.

"Let's do the same." Finral said as they were ready to leave, but they just then heard the sounds of someone screaming.

"There's still one person!" Asta said as he looked around to see where that person was. He looked through the flames and spotted someone. "Hey! Don't worry! We'll get you out of here!" He moved closer to the person to help them out.

"Surprise!" That person ended up being Salaburn. He kicked Asta right in the gut and knocked him back. "You rangers are pathetically predictable."

"And you're insane." Asta claimed as he got back up. "You set a building on fire just to get to us?"

"A monster has to have some fun." Salaburn said and continued the fun as he blasted all three of them with a powerful blast of heat. The blast knocked all three of them out of the building with the people clearing the area.

"Are you guys okay?" Noelle asked as she joined them.

"None of you will be for long!" Salaburn called as he shot out of the building. He fired multiple blasts from his fingers and blasted all four of the rangers. As this fight was going on, Vanica watched it all unfold and she enjoyed how Salaburn's flames burned through everything. "I did say I would finish you rangers off. I guess it's time I did that."

"You'll still have to wait!" Salaburn looked and was met with Vanessa slashing her saber right against him.

"Nice move, Vanessa." Finral said.

"Thanks, but it's clearly not enough." Vanessa said.

"You can say that again!" Salaburn said as he got back up. "You have nothing to beat me."

"We've got to do something, but what?" Noelle questioned. Salaburn was an immense opponent, but there had to be a way to beat him.

"I got it!" Vanessa said. "He's still using firepower. We just need to cool him down. Noelle, give him your best shot."

"But I tried that before and it didn't work." Noelle said.

"Just don't keep the attack going." Vanessa said. Noelle didn't get it, but she trusted Vanessa. Noelle used her water magic and mustered all the power she could from in the attack. Salaburn got blasted by all the water with steam coming off him, but he was standing strong against it.

"I told you that you're going to need more than a little water to beat me!" Salaburn called.

"But at least it cools you off enough for an attack! Luck!" Vanessa called.

"Awesome!" Luck said ash he threw in his lightning in the water with Salaburn getting electrocuted from it.

"Asta!" Vanessa called.

"I got it!" Asta said as he knew what to do. He jumped in the air and powered up his sword. He came straight down at Salaburn and gave him a powerful slash. All those attacks were too much damage for Salaburn to handle.

"This can't be happening to me!" Salaburn called before he ended up destroyed.

"He's arrogant, but I suppose he does get a second chance." Vanica said. "Urae Methros Cataros!" She used her magic and brought back Salaburn and he became a giant.

"Creation Magic: Titan Power!" The rangers used their own magic, changed forms, and formed their megazord.

"You're little toy can't stop the likes of me!" Salaburn said. He unleashed shots from his fingers again, but the rangers formed their shield and was trying to hold the attack away, but it just kept on coming. The shield might have stopped some attacks, but they couldn't hold it up forever and started taking attacks.

"I knew you rangers weren't all that! Nothing compared to me!" Salaburn taunted.

"We won't be able to take so much damage." Finral said.

"But if we move around too much, the city could burn." Asta said.

"Not if we can help it. Let's take this to the skies!" Vanessa said. The other rangers were with her. The megazord spread its wings and flew straight at Salaburn. They took him in his arms and carried him high in the sky. The heat he was generating was causing some damage, but they were able to endure it as they went higher and higher in the air. "Now!" They released Salaburn and he began to fall out of the sky.

"Hold on! You can't do this to me!" Salaburn called as he fell.

"Mana Strike!" The rangers used their final attack in the air and slashed right through Salaburn and he ended up getting destroyed with the rangers beating another foe.

"Nice work, but there's still something we have to take care of." Vanessa reminded them of another problem.

...

Timeless Meals

The rangers managed to defeat another foe, but it might be a problem if they lose their base. They still need to figure out how they're going to stop Vanessa's mother from buying Timeless Meals and loosing their base in the process.

"Julius, anything?" Noelle said as they all had hope that won't lose Timeless Meals.

"Please tell us that we're really not loosing Timeless Meals." Finral said.

"No, we're not." Julius said as he seemed to have found something. "We found a way out of this, thanks to Vanessa."

"Vanessa?" Asta questioned.

"Yeah, me." Vanessa said as she seemed proud of herself. "I did pick up a few business tricks from my mother. That's why I looked through the papers my mother gave Julius. I would explain it, but it's a bunch of complicated business stuff. Bottom line that all you need to know is that we're not loosing Timeless Meals." All of them were so glad to hear that because the place means so much to them.

"Vanessa, are you sure you don't want to to go into business? It sounds like you would be great at it." Finral said.

"Maybe, but that's not what I want. I'm taking control of my own fate." Vanessa claimed as she's controlling her own strings of fate.

...

The Underground Castle

"That giant lizard was really nothing but hot air." Vanica vented about their latest failure.

"We'll just have to try something else against the rangers." Dante said as they tried to think of their next attack.

"Enough." Dante said as he stood up and started walking. "It's time I dealt with these rangers myself."
