The Dark Triad were at it again. They already sent another monster attacking the city. This monster had sharp teeth. He was pale yellow with brown shoulders. His eyes were big and black with pointy ears and had a tail. He also had twin horns coming out of the top of his head. With Zenon's and spades to help, terror spread through the city.

"Run! Run! You won't be able to get far!" The monster shouted.

"Aren't you taking things a little too excited, Chubeck?" Zenon said. "Once the rangers show themselves, they will tend to spoil your fun."

"Just you wait, Lord Zenon. My fun will have the rangers in some serious trouble." Chubeck claimed as he was ready for them. They weren't going to wait long. Finral opened up a portal with all six of the rangers coming out. "Oh-ho! Just who we were expecting."

"What are you creeps up to this time?" Asta said as he and the other rangers were ready for a fight.

"The same as usual: wanting your destruction." Zenon claimed as he changed into his armored form and was ready for them.

"I'm afraid you rangers are in trouble this time." Chubeck stated. "You've heard of the a chupacabra? Well, instead of goats, I'm here to feast on rangers!" The enemy charged at the rangers with the rangers ready for them. Each of them took on the spades and were able to deal with them, but they had to keep their focus on the other two.

"Over here, you bonehead!" Yuno called as he leaped in the air and went right at Zenon. He tried attacking Zenon, but Zenon countered each of his attacks. Zenon swung his spear at him, but Yuno held it back with both of his swords.

"I must admit that you are an interesting opponent, Gold Ranger." Zenon said. "In the end, my siblings and I are the ones that shall win in the end."

"We'll see about that." Yuno said and kept on trying to fight him off. As for the other rangers, they did their best to fight off the rest of the enemy. Vanessa slashed down a couple spades, but she spotted Chubeck heading right for her. He slashed his claws against her. Then, he grabbed a hold of her and tossed her to the ground.

"What's the matter, Pink Ranger? Are you too scared to fight me?" Chubeck said as he dared her to come at him.

"Not even the least bit." Vanessa said as she readied herself for an attack.

"Vanessa, I got your back!" Finral called as he tried to get through to help her.

"I've got this!" Vanessa said. She jumped in the air and was getting ready to strike at Chubeck, but he seemed ready for it. Without warning, Finral went right at Chubeck. Just as he moved out of the way, Vanessa swung her sword at full force and hit Finral with it. "Finral!" She called and got the attention of the others. They all saw Finral collapsed and it looked like Finral was unconscious.

"Nice shot, Pink Ranger!" Chubeck mocked. Vanessa couldn't believe what she just did. She attacked one of her own friends and now he's hurt.

"Finral!" Asta called as the other rangers gathered together and covered their injured friend.

"What have I done?" Vanessa said.

"You just attacked one of your friends!" Chubeck taunted as he laughed at her little misfortune.

"We need to get him out of here." Noelle said. They lifted Finral up and tried to get him out of there. The enemy didn't even tried going after them. They just let them go with Chubeck laughing at what happened. A ranger just attacked a fellow ranger. This could be a real problem.

The Rangers' Base

They took Finral back to the base. Without his teleporting abilities, it was rather difficult. Once they got him back there, they gave Finral first aid and have him rest on a bed. He's injured, unconscious, but he was recovering.

"Don't worry. He'll be okay." Julius said. All of them were glad to hear that, but Vanessa felt so bad about the whole thing that just happened.

"This is all my fault." Vanessa said. "I don't know what happened. I didn't even think about it, just acted. It was like I didn't even see Finral coming or something."

"Don't be too hard on yourself." Asta said.

"Asta's right. In moments like that, you don't get much opportunity to think." Yuno said. "The enemy was right in front of you. You had to attack."

"Besides, Finral should have given some sort of warning or something. It's actually his fault for stepping in the way." Noelle claimed.

"That's not nice, even if it is true." Luck said. Vanessa understood all of that, but it wasn't making her feel any better. She just walked out of there as she needed time to think about all that has happened.

"Is she going to be okay?" Mimosa questioned.

"I am rather concerned. An incident like this could affect her confidence, and that's something we can't have right now." Julius stated. "I need the other rangers ready for when the enemy attacks. Without Finral's spatial magic, they need to be ready to go. Mimosa, could you go and make sure Vanessa is going to be okay?" Mimosa agreed and hurried after Vanessa. If Vanessa is always second guessing herself, she won't be able to fight at full capacity.

Vanessa

Vanessa walked around the streets of Clover Meadows. She couldn't get what happened out of her head. Finral's the nicest one of the team, but she recklessly attacked and he got hurt because of it. She's worried now she's going to make a mistake like that again. It keeps replaying in her head again and again, and she can't believe she would make a stupid mistake. What is she going to do about it now?

"Something troubling you?" Vanessa snapped out of her thoughts, but got her guard up when saw Chubeck. "Let me put you out of your misery!"

"What do you want now?" Vanessa said.

"Didn't I just say it? I'm here to destroy you!" Chubeck said. He fired energy blasts from his eyes and blasted near her, but Vanessa rolled out of the way of his attacks. She pulled out her morpher and got ready to attack, but something stopped her. Her arm was shaking and she couldn't really move it. She's too afraid she's going to make another mistake.

"Come on, Vanessa! Snap out of it!" She tried encouraging herself to do something, but she couldn't work up the nerve to do it.

"Ha! Looks like someone lost their nerve! Too bad for you!" Chubeck taunted. He launched another attack at her and the force from the attack caused Vanessa to hit the ground. If she can't bring herself to morph, she's in real trouble. "Now to finish you off!" Chubeck was about to attack, but a chair was thrown right against his head. Vanessa was surprised when she saw Mimosa showed up and helped her up.

"Come on! Let's get out of here!" Mimosa said as she got Vanessa moving and the two of them were running.

"You can't hide from me forever, Pink Ranger! You'll just make another mistake!" Chubeck called thinking that would get to her.

The Park

Vanessa and Mimosa ran all the way to the park. When they believed they were safe, the two of them rested near a bench and bought themselves some time.

"Are you okay?" Mimosa asked.

"Yeah. That was a pretty brave thing you did back there." Vanessa complimented.

"I'm just glad you're safe, but what happened? Why didn't you morph and fight?" Mimosa asked, but Vanessa couldn't really bring herself to answer that. "Is it because of what happened to Finral? Vanessa, it was an accident."

"An accident that shouldn't have happened!" Vanessa snapped. "I'm worried I'm going to make another mistake and someone else is going to get hurt because of it."

"Julius was right. You're loosing your confidence." Mimosa said as this wasn't looking good. "Vanessa, you need to get out of your own head. You need to be sure of yourself. You and the other rangers have done a great job so far. It's just like Yuno said earlier. There won't be much time to think, just act."

"But what if that leads to someone getting hurt? How can I be sure of what I'm doing?" Vanessa questioned.

"This coming from the girl who tries to make her own choices fully sure of herself?" Mimosa stated. Vanessa just isn't sure what to do and Mimosa can see that. "In that case, I can help."

"How? How is doing a little garden work going to help?" Vanessa said, but Mimosa had something else in mind.

"You can use your magic to change our clothes for a run and such, right?" Mimosa said. Vanessa had no idea where this was going, and she was in for a surprise. Mimosa was actually pushing Vanessa in training like a coach. They were going on runs, working out, and a variety of exercises. Mimosa was really pushing Vanessa with this to help rebuild her confidence. This certainly was a surprise coming from Mimosa.

The Underground Castle

"What are you doing back here?!" Dante said as he used his powers and crushed down on Chubeck. Chubeck reported back in with the Dark Triad and Dante wasn't pleased. "I keep telling you fools to be sure to finish the enemy."

"I'm sorry, but it's going great. Green Ranger is out of the picture and Pink Ranger is too scared to make a move now." Chubeck said as he was trying to get mercy.

"Why are you here then? Get out there and finish what you started!" Dante ordered. Out of fear, Chubeck got back up and hurried off to finish what he started.

"You're certainly in a mood." Vanica said. "What's the problem? We got the rangers where we want them now!"

"Yes, but the longer it goes on, the more likely the rangers have to counter. We must strike while the iron is hot." Dante said. "Zenon, go down and make sure the job is done."

"I shall." Zenon said as he followed after Chubeck to finish the rangers off.

...

The Rangers' Base

Finral was still in the process of recovering at the base. He was still in some pain, but he was finally able to wake up and tried moving. He was in pain, but at least it was a sign that he was recovering well.

"Finral!" Asta called as he and the others witnessed that he was awake.

"Easy. You need to stay still." Noelle said as she gently pushed him back down to rest. "You're still recovering."

"What happened?" Finral questioned.

"You got hurt. Vanessa attacked you by mistake." Yuno said. Finral needed a second, but he was able to remember what happened, as well as what he was feeling before.

"No, she didn't. I don't think it was Vanessa's fault." Finral said. He knew something that happened back there that the others didn't.

...

The Park

Vanessa and Mimosa really worked up a sweat. Vanessa needed to lean against a picnic table for her to help her stand up while she helped herself to some water. She couldn't believe what Mimosa just did to her.

"Mimosa, how did you learn to train like that?" Vanessa questioned.

"Noelle's not my only relative." Mimosa stated. "I've got a few others that showed me a few things. Bit of advice, don't get on my cousin Meraleona's bad side." Mimosa was clearly more interesting than Vanessa believed. However, their little exercise was cut short when attacks blasted near them. They looked and spotted Chubeck came back with Zenon and spades coming for a second round.

"Nowhere to run this time! You're finished this time!" Chubeck declared.

"Run, Mimosa!" Vanessa said as they both tried to make a run for it, but something came over them. They both suddenly stopped and they felt some sort of uncomfortable pain circulating through their bodies. "What's happening?"

"Ha! I have you now!" Chubeck said. They both looked and saw his claws were glowing green. The spades went at the girls and held them down so they could be finished.

"You mean you didn't know? Chubeck has the ability to control a person's body." Zenon said.

"Control bodies?!" Vanessa questioned as that sounded like a scary power, but it also made her think of something. "Then, what happened to Finral wasn't my fault. You made him step in the way, didn't you?"

"Very good, but too bad you realized it too late." Chubeck said.

"That's right." Zenon said as he walked right over to Vanessa and held up his spear to her. "This is where you say goodbye." He lifted his spear and tried to strike her down, but she was saved at the last minute by Yuno as he used his swords to block his attack. "You!"

"Did you really think you were going to succeed?" Yuno said as he pushed Zenon away. The other rangers showed up and were able to get the spades off and freed the girls.

"Are you two okay?" Finral asked.

"Finral! You're up?!" Vanessa said.

"You can't keep a good ranger down." Finral claimed.

"I beg to differ!" Chubeck said as he pushed Finral out of the way and grabbed a hold of Mimosa.

"Let her go!" Vanessa demanded.

"Careful, Pinky." Chubeck said as he was holding Mimosa like a shield. "You don't want to hurt someone again, would you?" He was trying to scare Vanessa into backing off, but Vanessa wasn't going to fall for it. Especially since she knows what happened to Finral wasn't her fault.

"Mana Morpher! Magic Calling!" Vanessa morphed and went into Saint Mode. Vanessa was more sure of herself this time as she generated some threads around Chubeck with her jumping into a tree. "Let's see how you like being the puppet." She worked the threads like puppet strings with Chubeck letting go of Mimosa and allowed her to run. "Go, Mimosa! Get out of here!"

"No! Come back here!" Chubeck said as he tried using his powers again, but Vanessa kept having him move around like a puppet. It made it difficult for him to use his powers.

"Let's have a little fun. Clear the way!" Vanessa called she tried using all her might and swung him like a bowling ball. The other rangers moved out of the way with Chubeck smashing against the spades.

"Stop it! Let me go!" Chubeck said as he tried getting free.

"Sure!" Vanessa said as she released him. When she did that, she jumped down and slashed her sword right against him. "This time, I'm sure I made no mistakes." With her confidence fully restored, Vanessa has no problem finishing it. "Saint Magic: Fateful Threads!" Vanessa unleashed a series of strings that pierced and tied around Chubeck. They put the squeeze on him until he finally popped and exploded.

"Nice work, Vanessa." Asta said as the team regrouped.

"Yeah... Great..." Finral could barely keep himself standing, but the others were able to catch him.

"You're still a ranger down. Perfect timing for this. Urae Metheros Cataros!" Zenon brought Chubeck back and he became a giant, but Finral was in no shape to fight.

"Without Finral, we can't make any megazord." Noelle said.

"Yuno, it's all on you." Asta said.

"No problem." Yuno said as he went in solo. "Creation Magic: Titan Power!" Yuno changed forms and soon shifted into his megazord.

"Time for a little snack!" Chubeck said as he charged right in and actually bit the megazord. He was actually trying to drain it of its power.

"Get off!" Yuno said as he was able to push the monster off by generated a powerful gust of wind and soon struck his spear against Chubeck.

"Hey! Don't go biting my head off!" Chubeck shouted.

"Light Spear Strike!" Yuno gathered power around his spear and smashed it right into Chubeck and caused enough damage to him.

"This got a little out of control." Chubeck cried before he ended up exploding again and with the rangers taking another win.

...

The Rangers' Base

Since Finral wasn't back to full power yet, he was still recovering up in the base. He was just reading a book and trying to pass the time. However, he did spot Vanessa coming over to him.

"Hey. Are you feeling okay?" Vanessa asked.

"A lot better." Finral said as he put the book down. "What about you? I heard you were blaming yourself for what happened to me."

"I was, but I'm fine since it wasn't really my fault." Vanessa said as she had a seat. "That monster controlled your body and put you in the way."

"Yeah. I did feel a strange sensation just before your attack hit. That's how I know it wasn't your fault, it had to be the monster's." Finral said.

"It did mess with my confidence." Vanessa admitted. "I was a little worried I would make a mistake and someone got hurt, but it looks like I was able to snap out of it, especially at the right time and learning what happened wasn't my fault."

"If you still feel bad, a nice hug or kiss might help." Finral offered.

"You must have more than enough confidence to ask for that." Vanessa said as she flicked him right on the head. The point is that even if Vanessa made a mistake, she couldn't let her confidence get wrecked. She had to gain control over the fear and she did. She acted when it was important, kept the fear under her control, and trusted herself more. As long as she has that, she and the rangers can take any enemy.
