Chapter 65. We were getting alike
Della, in sixth grade, had become relaxed since she got less classes.
After getting four Exceeds Expectations last year, as soon as school started, she had to decide which courses she would further study, that was, which courses to suffer in the coming semester.
Della accepted by four advanced classes, they were Transfiguration, still taught by Professor McGonagall;
Charm, from Professor Flitwick. She was even a star in Charm class, every class would be called by Professor Flitwick to demonstrate the charm! Everyone tacitly approved that she's good at the charm, especially after she accidentally revealed that she could cast two nonverbal spells. In order not to lose face, she spent four days a week previewing the class.
The last one was Divination. Although Hermione thought it's a waste of time, for all students who needed a good grade, Divination was the best choice!
Defense Against the Dark Arts, Harry said as long as they were willing to take it, Sirius wouldn't care about the grade.
The rest of the courses were dreadful.
In Herbology, she merely got Acceptable. Professor Sprout only accepted students who reached E.
As for Potion, obviously, when Professor Snape met her in the corridor, he told her purposely that "I don't want to see a student who has studied for 5 years and can't tell beetles from cockroaches."
There were only four classes, which meant she only had classes four days a week!
But the extra time apparently couldn't be used for dating. Firstly, Fred and George trained every day; Secondly, even if they didn't have to, they were going to graduate this year, and both of them must get the diplomas.
Ron was happy to talk about his two brothers in the common room.
"Mom said she didn't expect a good result, as long as it's plausible, don't they get failed in the N. E. W. T."
Hermione said justly, "they have Divination. Fred and George had plenty skills in that, and they also imparted them to Della."
She still thought her squandered time on Divination. If students chose it just because easy to be excellent, it was a great disrespect for knowledge!
Ron: "Isn't that you got kicked out of this class by Professor Trelawney?"
Hermione raised her chin, "remind you, I myself gave up this course! And I have Arithmancy, it's more useful than tea dregs!"
"Calm down, lady and gentlemen, I have to correct one thing." Della said, "Divination is not useless. I added a series of Divination commodities for Fred and George's shop: All kinds of fruit tea and flower tea, including the most advanced and ordinary tea bags. As long as you make a cup of it and observe the dregs according to the instructions, you can get inspiration about the coming week! I think this series is going to make big money!"
She couldn't help saying excitedly.
Hermione, Harry and Ron all stared at her.
Ron widened his eyes and exclaimed, "...You couldn't be more Prefectly matched with Fred!"
"I'm glad you're going to make money," Harry chortled.
Della made an exaggerated courteous gesture on the sofa, with her hand drawing half a circle behind her: "Thank you, Mr Black. Of course, there's your share on it."
The twin's shop was invested by Sirius, at the same time, the Black will belong to Harry in the end. According to the Law of Succession, he could put Potter and Black in his surname at the same time.
Ron got great belly laugh. Harry was embarrassed, but also felt it funny.
Hermione seemed like swallowed a lemon. "You do look like him."
The coming curriculum was getting deeper. In the third week after the beginning of school, Sirius began to teach them spells in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and also initiated one-on-one training.
When it turned to Della, Sirius said her greatest advantage was her sensitivity to incantations.
"Not everyone can invent a successful spell in school. A blind cat with a dead mouse, he should be a cat rather than a rabbit after all." Sirius leaned against her desk and spoke to her. His posture was elegant and wild, attracted all the sights from the girls around. Although he was skinny with no flesh in his cheeks, and was pale and sallow, which made him more "noble".
It's heard from the girls in the class.
Della listened to him with her head in hands. To be honest, he had a pleasant voice, seemed like there's a piano in his chest, all the sound played like resonance.
"Ordinary people only find it hard to pronounce incantations because the tone and rhythm are not commonly used. Even some wizards can't pronounce a spell well all their life, they would even bite their tongue when they speak 'th'." He said with a smile. The classroom raised laughters from students around.
A caustic remark and his arrogance made him more attractive.
It's true.
Sirius looked at her in smiling, "but you, as well as some wizards who have this kind of characteristics like you, are naturally easier to accept spells than others. You will learn faster and easier to find the effective part of charms and the rules of their rhymes than any other people. Those subtle words, writing like tosh in dreams, it's something only talent can understand."
Della couldn't help feeling hot all over, she's blushing.
People around all fixed on her with their eyes in admiration.
"You made rapid progress in nonverbal spells, which is your strength!" Sirius said, "it's unavoidable that being heard by enemy when he cast spells. If you didn't, you could only dodge it instead of preventing it. In this way, people can be scared away with a Leviosa!"
That was attractive!
Della developed a mass of passion in the nonverbal spells!
Sirius recommended many books to her, and Professor Flitwick did it, too. Now the books on her desk were almost as tall as Hermione's.
Moreover, she was soon informed to learn Disapparition and Apparition.
Wasn't it the instant movement! She was crazy loving it!
So she turned to Hermione for some reference books related to it.
When Fred came back with her during the training break, he had to watch her read in the common room, or they went to the library for their homework.
"Seriously, I'm beginning to think I have a girlfriend like Hermione." said Fred.
"Nonsense." Della gave him her finished catalogue, "here, I 've added a new series."
Fred immediately picked it up and scanned through, "oh! That's what you called Divination, right? Let me see. There are horoscope, Muggle's... Do they use blood type for Divination? Amazing! And Chinese Divination? What's it? Cast lots? Isn't it a fortune cookie?"
Della exerted herself, wrote down all the divination methods she knew. Chinese one was written in Chinese Zodiac and lottery, which were relatively simple and fun. Lottery had a similar game here, that was, fortune cookie, i.e., hiding the lottery paper in biscuits.
She thought Fred was good at baking biscuits.
Fred was so grateful that he went to discuss with George if they could include Della, because she put into a lot.
"She gave me so many ideas." Fred consulted with George.
"That's right." George nodded, "the Portable Partner figure, we have received a lot of orders. Everybody wants a partner, whether they are dating or have broken up. I think we need to get the consent of the partner himself when making this figure to avoid them doing anything bad with it."
Fred asked George what did he think in embarrassment. Because Della was his girlfriend, he didn't want him to think he was biased.
George didn't take it seriously. Fred was his twin brother, they even share the same fingerprints, there's nothing to be angry with another himself.
"Bro, of course I have no problem. The shop is also yours."
But Della disagreed. She insisted that the shop was belong to the twins, it shouldn't be in addition with a third person.
"You can pay me," she said, "this is the best way to solve it."
Fred thought it was not enough, "but you have done so much, made so many ideas, and you have finished almost all the catalogue. You classified them, wrote advertising and slogans, and you even add a new series."
"You'll think of them sooner or later." The divination wasn't complicated, he's just too busy to think about it at the moment.
Fred: "I love you, honey." So he didn't want her suffer losses.
"I love you, too, so I don't want to count it too clear. Listen, just pay me, as much as you want. If you think it's too little to prove your sincerity, I can accept more." Della said sincerely.
Fred smiled, hugged and kissed her. "Honey, I like your style. We're more alike."
