Chapter 66. Learn new spell
It was getting colder and harder to get up in the morning.
The dining room was full of attractive sweet aroma at breakfast.
Today was Saturday, while students didn't want to leave the warm place, some of them started doing their homework here after breakfast, because the Elves would keep delivering food, it was much more comfortable than staying in the common room.
The fierce wind outside blew people stagger.
"They must have a hard time in this weather." Ron sighed. Harry had gone to training. He wanted to join the Quidditch team this year, but Angelina rejected him and for the reason that it was full.
"I thought she would promise." Ron said.
"She doesn't want to pull strings for you." said Hermione calmly. Even if Angelina fell in love with George, it didn't mean she was willing to let George's little brother in.
Ron was sulky and refused to go to see Harry training. Ginny said he was ashamed to.
Della came into the dining room with her heavy schoolbag. She planned to spend the whole day here today.
"Good morning." When she sat down, a clean white plate and a golden goblet appeared in front of her. She poured a cup of hot milk, took a large omelette and poured thick honey on it.
Ron shook his head and sighed when he saw her bag, Hermione greeted her, "morning. What's your plan today?"
Della: "Homework and preparation I guess."
Hermione cleared her throat: "It's a nice day today, what about seeing Fred training?"
Della looked reflexively at the ceiling of the dining room: Dark clouds over them. The color of the real sky from the skylight on the ceiling was similar to this.
A nice day?
Lavender sat next to Ron, and dedicated to feeding Ron the scrambled eggs on her plate. Ron had been resisting, so he interposed when he found a chance: "Good idea, why not?"
It seemed there was something.
Della decided to give the trio more space, since last year, they seemed to spend more time separately. At first, Ron felt uncomfortable when Harry and Hermione were together, so he deliberately avoided them; After that, Ron had Lavender and had to spend more time on "love". Untile they broke up successfully, he could return to his friends, which could be seen that he was relieved.
However, at the beginning of school this year, it was said that he ran into Lavender on the train, and knowing she cried for him for a summer vacation, he relented for a moment, and they reconciled again.
As a result, Ron had to spend more time with her in order to maintain this "fragile" relationship and avoid making the same mistake.
Della reckoned he was going to be overwhelmed again.
She thought she was different from Lavender.
"Off you go." She motioned to Hermione and Ron, but to find there was something wrong with them.
Hermione gave her a flat pull aside: "Ron and I couldn't be alone without you. Lavender is already angry."
Della realized her role.
"I am about to see Fred! Luckily you came to me!" She expressed in good time.
Ron heaved a sigh of relief, while Lavender suggested: "Won-Won, I can go with you!"
"Won-Won" immediately refused: "No! The training is confidential! You don't know anyone in the team, so you can't go!"
Finally, Della went back to her bedroom, put on her scarf and came down. They went to the Quidditch stadium against the strong wind.
Slytherin won in a despicable way when Ravenclaw fought Slytherin the week before last week.
Gryffindor had to beat Hufflepuff before Slytherin, if they did, Racenclaw would encounter Hufflepuff.
The final ranking depended on their scores.
Angelina had been counting scores. Her plan was to get the dominant score on Hufflepuff before Harry caught the Snitch.
"It's promising to get the cup this year," Hermione said, "Cedric has graduated."
Ron nodded. Although boys hated Cedric since he was the most handsome guy in the school, Ron was not so hostile to him, maybe for the age.
"Hufflepuff was formidable when they had Cedric. I remember Fred and George always called him a blonde prat." He said.
Della said she was in the dark.
Hermione retorted: "Cedric has been the Prefect of Hufflepuff since his fifth grade!"
In her opinion, becoming a Prefect was a proof of "excelling both in behaviour and studies", which indicated he was impeccable both in academic achievements and personal characters.
By the way, she was the female Prefect of Gryffindor this year, and the male Prefect was Harry.
For the sake of both friends being Prefects, Ron didn't refute the topic of "Prefect".
They also arrived to the stadium just in time.
To be honest, the training was boring.
Angelina had been yelling, she was hard-working. Until now did she know that Quidditch was not only flying around on a broom, they also paid attention to the tactics, offensive and defensive formation. Ron and Hermione obviously were better acquainted with it and kept explaining to her.
Both were surprised that she didn't understand at all.
Hermione: "I remember you came to watch Fred training before."
Yes, when she ran after him desperately, she didn't miss any chance to see him.
Della shook her head, "but I came to see Fred!"
Ron didn't believe it. "Your boyfriend plays Quidditch, he joined the team from the second year, and you love him crazy! How could you know nothing about it?" He muttered, "I can make fun of him with this for the afterlife!"
He hadn't spoken to her before. She was a year older than him, besides, she was Fred's girlfriend. These two reasons kept him from paying much attention to her until the fourth grade.
Although she was the only friend of Hermione among the girl's dormitory, none of a girl in her grade was willing to be her friend.
He didn't find it strange in her character, even he and Harry often couldn't stand her before.
Only now when they became friends did he know so many things!
How many things he missed before!
Della: "...Brothers are the same."
Ron reminded her of Dick.
After Harry's training, he came over and told them that Sirius had been looking for the three of them.
"Three?" Della pointed to herself, "aren't you three? Including me?"
Harry nodded, he was puzzled too, "he did mention you, Della, he said you could come if you would like." Hermione and Ron confused too, from their expressions, they also thought it was strange that Della would be included.
Ron was misunderstood, "where are we going? Will the Black have a Christmas party?"
Harry shook his head. "He said he was a professor this year, so we were all going to spend Christmas in Hogwarts. What he said was, asking us to his office together." He looked around and went on with a low voice, "seems he wants to teach us a secret spell."
Hermione got interested in this immediately!
On the contrary, Ron was less interested, but he figured out why there was Della.
"Sirius said in our class that she learn spells quickly, he must think it would be easy for you to learn."
Hermione agreed, she suggested her go with them.
Della wasn't going to refuse, so she sent Harry her gratitude to Sirius, and asked the time.
"Today." Harry said, "he said we could meet him after training, the sooner the better."
Therefore, after Harry took a bath and get changed, they went to Sirius before six o'clock.
While there was another person in the classroom of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Seeing this man, four Gryffindors immediately thought it was impossible to learn spells today, so they didn't plan to go in and stood at the door and greeted Sirius.
"Come in, please." Sirius beckoned them in. Although his also got a long face, he smiled when he saw Harry. "Professor Snape is willing to help us."
"Are you kidding?" Ron muttered.
Snape not far away obviously heard it, he nodded: "yes, seeing you here, I began to think it was a joke." He deliberately said to Sirius, "maybe you miss the news, but I happened to remember Mr. Weasley's report last semester."
Ron's face turned frighteningly red, and his head fell deeply to his chest.
Sirius was trying to hold back his anger. "I think he is very brave! He's a typical Gryffindor! I believe he can learn this spell!"
"What spell is it?" Harry couldn't wait to ask. He glanced at Snape vaguely, was incredible for the fact that Sanpe was going to teach them, if the spell was indeed important.
"Occlumency." Sirius answered.
Apparently, Harry, Ron and Dell had not heard of it.
Hermione quickly answered out: "A spell that prevents your brain and mind from being read, extremely proufound! And it's used to guard against the Legilimency."
Right away for Della to understand why Sirius asked her to come!
She did need to learn this spell!
Hermione turned to Harry and Ron in a frightened tone, "the situation must have become serious! Harry, you need this! As your friends, we also do!"
As Harry's intimates, they should learn the spell, Ron had no objection, but... He looked at Della and was clearly puzzled.
She was not a close friend of Harry, and didn't know him well. Was it because she's good at learning spells?
Sirius also took a look at her, to be honest, he didn't know why Dumbledore asked him to teach her.
Snape: "Four people, two of each?"
Ron promptly pulled Harry and Hermione close to Sirius.
While, then, there was only Della left. Hermione hesitated, and was about to pull her over.
Snpae nodded, "then the boys belong to you, the girls to me. Miss Bush and Miss Granger, follow me, please."
Neither Hermione nor Della had courage to object, they had to leave the classroom behind Snape and went to the Potions classroom.
Ron and Harry were both relieved when they left, but they worried about their friends after that.
Ron regretted, "what about Hermione?"
Harry asked Sirius, "could you ask them back?"
Sirius comforted them: "Snape does not look like a good guy, but I don't think he will kill two students in Hogwarts. Don't worry, you'll meet them at dinner. We don't have much time today, let me explain the spell to you first, it requires a little comprehension."
Ron: "...we're done, Hermione's not here."
On the other hand, Della and Hermione had fellow professor Snape hand in hand to the Potions classroom.
Snape didn't waste time or even comfort the two upset girls, he turned around and said to them when the door clicked closed. "This is a difficult spell that requires all your intelligence to learn. I hope you don't think of it as a levitation charm you can learn by stupid waving your wands, nor despise it if she thinks she has invented one or two kitchen spells." His eyes swept over Hermione and Della. With his words, they both became nervous and braced all their spirits up!
"This spell can protect the little secret in your brain. I don't think anyone will be interested in the little teenaged secret of your brain though, you... have an extraordinary friend. For security reasons, headmaster wants you to learn it." Snape stared at Della until the girl turned her sight to him.
When sure this lady hearing the instructions, he looked away, "let's start with theory. Now, empty your brain and make it a blank, let go of your emotion. I'll leave you ten minutes, and then start trying to invade your brain."
It unsettled Hermione immediately, "professor, you said you're going to talk about theory first..."
Sanpe: "You want me to read book for you, Miss Granger?"
Her face was flushed with anger, but she didn't speak a word and try to clear her mind.
Della did it too, but the more she did, the more things came out of her mind.
Ten minutes elapsed quickly.
Snape went to Hermione first. "Let go of it. I'm not interested in your brain. Don't worry I would see you little dating secret with the savior."
Hermione was more tense.
Snape raised his wand, whispered, and thoughtfully "reminded" her that he began to peep into her secret.
Then Della saw her face turn from redder to pale, and was sweating in the chair after Snape interrupted the spell.
He said impartially, "you resisted at beginning, but couldn't hold on."
This showed Hermione did succeed!
Della was beyond admired!
Hermione nodded. "Thank you... very much, professor."
Snape sneered, turned to Della and raised his wand, "Miss Bush, your friend has succeeded. Now it's your turn."
At dinner, Fred waited for a while before he saw his honey come in, in depression.
"Honey, what's the matter?" He asked with concern.
Hermione didn't answer, but she looked at her sympathetically.
Della answered dryly: "...Nothing. I just found out for the first time how stupid I am."
Above, on the professor table, Dumbledore asked the two how their first teaching was.
Sirius: "Very well! Harry understood quickly, Ron was a little slow behind."
Dumbledore nodded and turned to Snape: "What about our two ladies?"
Snape sneered, "terrible." The person who didn't need to learn learned quickly, while another, her brain was like a funnel.
Dumbledore said optimistically, "seems you have all achieved gratifying results, so keep doing!"
