Chapter 3: Unexpected Turn
Now you may be thinking, how did the sensor not go off? Well, it only goes off if someone fully goes out of the door. Since it detected just an arm, it didn't really alert Sikowitz.
Day two in the apartment complex. Tori and Jade both got emailed their homework for each of their classes from that particular day. Today, a script they had to write for Sikowitz.
Jade had read the assignment that Sikowitz explained in the email, the raven haired gal cringed. Tori looked over from the beanbag chair she was sitting on. "And you're looking like that because?"
"Here.. look." Jade pushed her laptop over to Tori. It stated that the two had to write a romance script between a couple, and they have to act it out once they come back. Tori didn't seem to be weirded out by it.
"And? We did this before. Okay, maybe we didn't write the script.. but we played a couple before. Remember Nancy and Walter?" Tori mentioned, that was definitely something. Jade sighed. "I guess, but I don't know okay? I don't want to do this."
"Besides, Sikowitz said if we both pass this whole week of being roommates? Then he'll give us A's for the whole semester." The gothic chick added to her response.
Tori slowly closed her own laptop. "You've got a point there. I don't really have anything else for my other classes today." Jade started typing away for another class assignment. "You fucking lucky bitch." Rolling her eyes.
Tori cleared her throat. "Excuse me, I'd watch that tone." Jade brought her attention onto the Latina. "And? I'd watch what you're saying, Vega or else.."
"Or else what?" The brunette crossed her arms. Jade placed her laptop onto the coffee table before standing up. "Or else I will drive you in complete nowhere, dig up a hole like last time. This time around though? I will actually bury you alive." Tori laughed. "Good luck with that, we can't leave here."
Jade got absolutely fed up, it didn't even take her long to do so. "Ugh, I hate it!" Tori tilted her head to the side a bit. "Hate what?" The Vega said, obviously not wanting to play with her games.
"You!" Jade yelled at the top of her lungs. "Mm, like I haven't known that since the day I stepped into the school." Tori just knew that the nice part of Jade she saw yesterday wouldn't last.
"Yeah, and I wish you never did! You and your sister should go to normal high schools! I can't stand you and your sister around here!" Jade really didn't seem so happy. Not like it's a surprise, cause it is not.
"Okay, enough! Who is the girl who Beck cheated on you with?" Just to change the subject. "None of your business, Vega!" 'I wonder if this is still bugging her?' Tori thought to herself.
"I know I said that I technically don't mind if you do not want to speak about it, but seriously.. you know this girl. And the way you described her? The tone and everything, you really seem hurt by it." The Latina pushed everything aside. Her full focus on Jade now.
Jade swallowed a lump in her throat. Now looking up at Tori with a worried look mixed with being miserable at the same time. "Despite how much you hate me, you know that I'm always going to be here for you. No matter what."
Should she? Jade slowly closed her laptop. Only to sigh. A loud one too. "You really wanna know who Beck cheated on me with?" To which, Tori nodded her head slowly. "Yes, yes I do. Now tell me, Jade. Who is it?"
Jade brought her attention to the floor. Her hands shaking from being too scared of revealing who it was. Jade being afraid? It's a rare occasion to see this side of her but she's only human. It's normal.
The raven haired female finally said it. "Cat." But quietly. Tori raised an eyebrow, only cause she couldn't quite hear it. "I didn't hear you, who?" Her voice got a little louder. "C-Cat.." Still something that Tori couldn't make out though.
"Could you please speak louder, Ja-" Jade's eyes grew bigger as she looked at Tori again. Her voice this time really filled up the entire room. "It was Cat! It was Cat, okay?! Beck cheated on me with Cat!" Feeling the lump again in her throat. Not a good feeling.
Tori froze for a few moments. This can't be real, right? How could Cat do this? "Wait, aren't you two like the best of friends? You're the only one who is willing to go over to Cat's place. Seeing her freakish brother and all." Had to ask.
Jade wanted to just go back to sleep and forget this ever even happened. "Yeah, we were best friends!" Key word? Were. They were best friends. "How did you know or figure out about this?" Tori got curious. Cat seemed like a person who wouldn't do this.
Considering the fact that Cat is the one who witnessed Tori kissing her ex boyfriend, Daniel. While he was still together with Cat. So, it's something that she could kind of relate to. Except for she was the one who did it. But she and Cat talked through it.
The raven haired girl really didn't want to talk about this anymore. This is already painful enough that she confessed who was to blame for the cheating. "Well, we were working on a project together. All three of us."
"And?" Tori crossed her arms, wanting to hear every single word. "I had to pick up a few things from the store. I didn't mind getting them by myself. And they mentioned that they were gonna be fine in my room while I was gone. So, I left." The story has started.
"Long story gone short, I caught the two making out. And low and behold! I hear Beck call Cat his babygirl and Cat just giggled and smiled, continuing to kiss him like the bubbly mess that she is!" Ouch.
Jade was so close to tearing up. She didn't want to for the sakes of Tori being able to witness such a thing. "They saw me. They tried to cover everything up by saying nonsense. But I just cussed them out and let them be. I mean.. what can I fucking do after what I just saw?!"
Tori placed a hand slowly over Jade's own. "I don't have to hear any more. So don't continue." Her voice, gentle as ever. Trying to calm Jade down. It may not work but it was worth a shot trying.
She could feel Jade's hands shaking. Tori never thought that Beck would do this type of thing too. He always seemed to be rather reasonable and understood about how relationships work. But looks like he's way different than she thought.
It also sickened the Latina on how he could cheat with Cat, Jade's best friend. That's even more worse than having some random chick over. She understood Jade's pain. No girl or person should ever go through that.
"Let's just start on our script, okay?" Just to take her mind off of things. Tori went to her her laptop and opened up a new docs file. The cursor blinking, waiting to be typed and filled in. Seeing Jade this way broke the brunette's heart. "Yeah, whatever." Jade rolled her eyes. Staring up at the laptop screen now.
Jade being so open to Tori about that situation surprised her. Usually she likes to conceal things and to cope with them by putting others down. Which isn't the best thing to do but it helps her in some way to a certain degree. However, she's glad that Tori at least understood the situation to then go on her side.
"Alright, so a love script involving a couple. Hm.." Tori tried to think of what it could be about. "Maybe we can make it with enemies turned to lovers kind of plot?" Looking up at Jade to get her approval. "Sure, why not? I love being mean in person and in character anyway." So, they went to work.
Little did they know though, that this is actually another bonding moment between the two. There's so many questions that needs to be answered. Why would Beck do that? Even more concerning, why would Cat do this to Jade? Jade is literally her best friend. Jade may be scary and all, but she still doesn't deserve this kind of treatment.
A love script from enemies to lovers. If the two temporary roommates were dating? Then this would be the most ironic script of all time. Last question of all is, will they be able to last another day together? We'll see. Only time will tell.
A/N: I am so sorry for taking longer than I said I would. I had like two tattoo appointments and my arm is in pain, haha. But I am back now. Hope it was worth the wait.
