HI guys! It is me again, but this time with a short short of FMA! YAY! (so that means i don't own ANY of the characters here, okay?)
This is for a contest really, but i wanted to see whateveryone thinks of it first! PLEASE tell me what you think!
oh and one more thing:
THIS IS NOT HUGHESXROY! Got it? Good.
War of Self
"Roy!" A voice echoed through forgotten streets of Ishbal, "Dammit Roy! Wake the hell up!"
Guns could be heard between screams and cries of young children and women. The thoughts horrified Hughes as he stared at Roy. He just stared off in the distance; his eyes were empty voids. Tears flowed down his cheeks. Roy's body was leaning against a stone wall with his hands at his sides.
"ROY!" Hughes shook him by the shoulders, "ROY! GET UP!"
His head faced downward, the tears flowing even faster.
Hughes was sure Roy said something but just couldn't hear. He saw Roy's lips move, but there were no words forming. Roy shut his eyes tight letting his tears fall.
A bullet grazed Hughes' right arm. He hissed at the pain and quickly grabbed his arm. Behind him was Ishbalan with a rifle in his hands. The man stopped, almost frighten of what he had done. His grip loosened on the weapon. His red eyes were staring at Hughes and Roy.
Hughes quickly took out his gun and shot at him. The man ran behind the building.
Hughes gripped tighter on his right arm. Blood ran down his jacket and to the ground near Roy.
Roy stiffened at the sight of the blood.
"Please, Roy," Hughes shook him again, "wake up!"
Roy just sat there.
"Dammit!" Hughes punched Roy on the right side of his mouth. Blood streamed down his chin.
Roy finally looked up at Hughes, his eyes big and filled with tears.
"Seems the little boy can't handle it," a voice laughed behind them. Kimblee started walking toward them.
"You also seem to be unable to handle it," his comment directed to Hughes, "can't even kill a man trying to kill you, but whatever, right?"
Hughes looked behind Kimblee and saw a blood stream through the street. He flinched at the thoughts of what lies beyond the wall. Of what was left of the man.
"I'm just doing my job," he shrugged.
"And you think it's alright to kill everyone that crosses your path?" Hughes yelled at him.
"As long as they don't keep fighting," Kimblee mocked and started to walk off, his hands in his pockets. His long hair was flowing behind him.
"Damn him," Hughes growled.
"I didn't…"
Hughes turned to Roy.
Roy was still looking up to Hughes. His eyes still looked empty.
"I didn't mean too…" Tears ran down his cheeks.
"What?" Hughes asked in a sweet voice trying his best to calm him down.
"I didn't mean too, Hughes!" Roy screamed. "I didn't mean to do that, but…but he was there and with the gun and…and…" Roy put his head in his hands. He pulled his knees closer to his chest.
Hughes stared at him in horror. He knew that Roy's mind was a complete mess and has been reliving the past over and over.
Hughes grabbed Roy pulling him closer.
"Dammit, Roy, calm down," he let Roy's tears fall on his jacket, "it wasn't your fault."
"I-I didn't mean too, Hughes…" Roy's voice cracked as he spoke. Roy grabbed Hughes' shirt. "I didn't mean too!"
"I know…I know," Hughes ruffled Roy's hair, "I know…"
Hughes looked up at the sky.
Some of the sun's rays were peeking through the clouds.
I wasn't sure if Hughes was really in the war, but what the heck i said! Let him be in here because...well do you really want Armstrong to be in here?
