I don't own RWBY or Godzilla just the plot.

Tenacious Kaiju beats Cold Specialist Part 3

The Vytal Festival held once every two years to celebrate the end of the Great War that happen eighty years ago.

The festival was named after the island of Vytal where the peace treaty was signed by the last ruling Monarchs in history. The festival celebrates the peace that have been brought to the world and as per the rules the festival is rotated between each kingdom allowing each of them to open their borders to the world for the celebration.

This is the biggest event for any kingdom on Remnant, but the main attraction of the festival is not the fair grounds or parades no it is the Vytal tournament held in the Amity Coliseum where students from each academy can represent their kingdom in a three-round tournament.

The tournament last for a few days with breaks in-between every match. Normally people will go to the festival to enjoy the games, food, and all the festivities the fair ground has to offer before or in-between tournament rounds.

But this was not the case for Atlas Specialist Winter Schnee as she was on another mission.

This mission was a simple but important one as it was given to her by General Ironwood himself. Apparently, shipments for the new Atlassian Knights and Paladins have been stolen by the White Fang cell based in Vale so the General ask her to act as part of the protection detail for this new shipment.

Winter didn't question it as she heard that the Council of Vale has ask the General to be the head of security for the Vytal festival so that's the reason for the extra knights and Paladins.

But Winter knew that there was another reason for her to be on this mission, when the General told her that he was bring a good portion of the army with him to Vale for the Vytal festival she knew that it had something to do with the message Qrow sent, whatever was on that message must've scare the General to take such measures for this event.

And most likely he assigns her this mission to debrief on the situation in person as it would suspicious if she came just because the General ask for her for no reason.

But despite the mission Winter was also looking forward to seeing her sister Weiss to see how she's been doing since she left home for Beacon Academy.

The letters she wrote said she was doing fine but Winter wanted to see it for herself.

After landing her ship at the Academy's landing zones, when the hiss of the ship's ramp lowered what greeted her sight was her sister and her leader Ruby Rose.

After a brief greeting between them Winter could clearly see that her sister happy here even with the…strangeness of her leader with her failed attempt at an introduction.

Despite the brief introduction Winter saw that Miss Rose was somewhat similar to a certain drunk crow she hated, it was hard to believe that the two were even related, she knows that Miss Rose was trained by him and was glad that she wasn't anything like him albeit they did share some childish.

But Winter believed that she wouldn't have to worry about that for her stay here.

Right now she was walking with her sister to her dorm room but hardly two minutes into their walk did the head of one of her escorts rolled in front of them, turning around her day turned from tolerable to a complete headache.

Winter curse herself thinking fate was messing with her because lo and behold the drunk crow arrived and as expected he already ruined her day.

Qrow Branwen the biggest pain she ever had to deal with in her life.

And of the course the first thing he does is get on her nerves, she tries to be tolerant of his actions but somehow the keeps succeeding in annoying her until she finally had enough.

Winter may admit that she may have lost her cool there but it was either that or let man insult her and her superior more, so she chose the most direct way to shut him up.

When the two engaged it was a series of them trading blows either dodging or blocking each other's swings, eventually their fight took to some of the structure of Beacon's courtyard with

It was only until the two met back on the ground each preparing to unleash their own special move, Winter with her glyph ready to launch herself at the man and Qrow shifting his sword to it new form.

But just when she going to attack something unexpected happen.

"Hey!" Someone called out behind her.

Reacting on instinct Winter spun around intending to stab the one behind her but suddenly whoever was behind her grabbed her sword arm, put it behind her back hugged her and lifted her into the air.

She struggled for a bit before she finally saw the face of the one whose holding her and when she did her cheeks started to turn red.

"Anguirus!?" She said making him smile.

"SCHNEE!"

The two turned and saw General Ironwood himself staring at them with Headmaster Ozpin right next to him.

After everything that's happen when she landed in Beacon Winter only knew one thing, the rest of the day was going to give her a headache.

After meeting with the General and the Headmaster along Glynda Goodwitch and Qrow about the current situation Winter was dismissed so after she got out of the tower she saw Anguirus standing there waiting for her.

"There you are I've been waiting for you." He said.

"You… were waiting for me?" She ask feeling happy about that.

"Yeah what were you talking about up there?"

"That's classified." Winter answered.

"Okay what are you doing here?"

"That's also classified."

"Oh okay so how've you been?"

"Fine just busy with assignments lately." She said.

"Well are you busy now?" He ask.

"No not at the moment." Winter answered making him smile.

"Great then follow me." Anguirus said as he grabbed her hand leading her away from the tower.

"Wait Anguirus where are you taking me?" Winter ask but was ignored.

In a few short minutes the two found themselves in the fair grounds of the festival with civilians walking, talking, eating, playing enjoying their time.

"So." Winter turned to him. "What do you wanna do first?" He ask.

What they did was all sorts of things, they played games, ate food, and browsed the souvenirs in various stalls.

Anguirus practically dragged Winter all over the fair grounds much to her irritation because somehow, he manage to convince her to try everything with him.

When it came to the games Anguirus was terrible at most of them especially the games that involve shooting apparently, he never picked up a firearm before which would've been understandable but Winter knew that you didn't need to be experience to even win at these types of games even a child could win without much effort.

Not to mention that there were a few mishaps when it came to the games that involve throwing. When the two played the milk bottle game Anguirus threw the ball to where it bounced off the table and hit the attendant in the eye, they were fortunate that the attendant still allowed them to play but kept a small distance away from Anguirus.

In the end Anguirus manage to win a prize but that may be the only prize he'll as when it came to the other games they ended in disaster.

The basketball game Anguirus threw the ball hard enough that it first broke the backboard and for the second ball he broke the hoop so they kick out of that one. For the hammer bell one Anguirus slammed the hammer hard enough for the bar to hit the bell off the game so they were kicked out of that one. Darts Winter had enough sense not to let him go near that one.

When the two of them got to the food stalls Winter was actually hungry after the short fight with Qrow and all the running around with Anguirus she was starting to feel hungry.

But unfortunately for her Anguirus got them a whole bunch of stuff much to her ire as it ended up with her paying for them as Anguirus didn't have any money and to her own stomach she helped him eat everything.

Finally when they checked out the souvenir stalls there wasn't really much that interested them.

Right now it was close to evening and the two of them sat at table surrounded by pillars in Beacon's courtyard with tea and a plate of snacks though after eating all that food Winter only reason for buying it was because it felt natural to have something to go with tea.

"Man today was great right?" Anguirus ask.

"I suppose it was yes." Winter answered him but the look on her face told him otherwise.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh nothing it's just that I was hoping to spend today with my sister Weiss." Winter said.

"Oh well you could do that tomorrow."

"I…I can't." She said.

"Why not?"

I'm leaving."

"…What but you just got here." Anguirus said.

"Yes my stay here was only temporary, I only came to ensure the safety of the new shipment of Atlas Knights and Paladins." She answered.

"Knights? You mean those robots I see walking around?"

"Yes."

"Okay so job done doesn't mean you can't stay for the festival."

"I'm Anguirus but I can't the General has already given me another assignment so I have to leave soon."

"…Fight him." Anguirus said making Winter's eyes widen.

"What?"

"Fight the General so you can stay."

"WHAT!?"

"You heard me fight the General so you can stay."

"I don't need to fight the General just to stay."

"Then why don't you stay? You wanna talk to your sister then stay." He said.

"You gotta fight for what you want Winter, fighting is the best answer to anything, so you gotta fight."

"Anguirus fighting doesn't solve everything." Winter stated. "And it certainly won't solve this."

"Then why were you fighting that guy earlier?" He ask.

"Because he… destroyed military property." Winter told him not wanting to tell him of Qrow's insults were the reason for the fight.

"That's it?"

"What do you mean?" Winter ask.

"I mean you fought him because he destroyed your stuff?" Anguirus ask.

"No the Knights don't belong to me they belong to the military they were just acting as my escorts." Winter clarified.

"Okay but that still doesn't answer my question you fought him because he broke your stuff?" He ask again.

"Yes."

"…Why don't I believe you?"

"Believe what you want it's the truth." She told him.

"Winter." He said looking at her.

Winter refused to say anything but the longer he stared at her the more nervous she got so she relented.

'SIGN' "Alright he…may have insulted me with the nickname he gave me and… he insulted the General, I gave him a warning but he decided to taunt me and I… attacked him." Winter admitted and saw Anguirus smiling.

"So basically you followed your gut." He said.

Winter's eyes widen at the implication "That is not what happened." She shook her head in denial.

"Yes it is that guy was being an asshole and your gut told you to fight him to shut him up so you did."

"That's not particularly a good thing Anguirus to fight because of instincts."

"Well you never know I mean for me a lot of good thing have happen to me because of fighting."

"Hmm really like what?" She ask.

"Well I met Gojira because of fighting, I mean how else did the two of us become friends?" He replied.

"You… fought Gojira?"

"Yep"

"Why?"

"Simple I don't like assholes and at the time he seemed like the biggest asshole around so I fought him."

"And how did that go?" Winter was curious at how there friendship was born.

"It ended with me losing and getting my arm broken." He answered plainly. "But that was the start of our friendship and later the two of us became best friends."

"Uh huh." Winter was having a hard time digesting that, from what she seen of Gojira and Anguirus it does seem likely that the two of them would fight, but it was surprising to hear that Anguirus only came out of that fight with a broken arm.

She'd seen Gojira fight before and the man was brutal to say the least. After witnessing the massacre at the Schnee manor, getting an arm broken seems more like a mercy and it only happened the first time he and Anguirus met.

Winter was having a hard time believing that their friendship could bloom after such an event.

And it was more of a surprise that the two became friends, while Gojira and Anguirus were similar in that they were both blunt and straight-forward, Gojira has an arrogant nature about him while Anguirus doesn't and moves purely on gut feelings.

"And because we became best friends I ended up becoming an uncle to his sons." He said.

That's right Gojira's sons, Anguirus is an uncle to them.

Winter supposed that after becoming 'best' friends with Gojira that at some point his sons would come to regard him as an uncle, it wasn't uncommon many families out there have others that aren't related to them by blood be seen as family.

Winter knows this very well; her butler Klein was more of a father to her than her actual father and although she never told this to anyone she secretly wish Klein was her father.

"And because of fighting I met you." Anguirus said making Winter look at him.

"What?" Winter ask eye a bit wide, cheeks turning pink.

Instead of answering Anguirus got up and took his chair and set it next to her.

He then leaned in close making Winter lean back away from him.

'Is he…' Winter's heart was pounding as Anguirus inched closer to her thinking he was going to do what she thought he was going to do.

But instead of doing that he did something else.

"Oww!"

Winter pushed Anguirus away as she held her hand to her ear, when she brough her hand to her face she saw a small amount if blood on it.

Activating her aura she closed the wound instantly. When it was done, she glared at the kaiju faunas.

"Why did you do that?"

"What? I'm just marking you as my mate." He stated.

'Marking?' Winter thought. 'Just what does he think…' She stopped herself as she remembered the last part he said.

"What…what did you just say?" She ask.

"What I just said I was marking you as my mate." Anguirus replied.

There it was again. "What do you mean by mate?" She ask.

"What else do I mean I'm claiming you as mine by marking you." He said.

As much as Winter wanted to argue that he's 'claiming' her, her mind was too fixated on the fact that he basically wants her to be his girlfriend.

Winter never put much thought into being in a relationship, having to grow up with Jacques as a father and having to look after her sister Weiss she didn't have time for a relationship and it didn't help that all the boys she did meet were from all the fancy parties her father made her attend as a way to improve relations with his various business partners.

Like with most people of her life they were only interested in her because she was the current heiress to the company at the time.

But now that she was free from her father, Weiss is now able to take care of herself, Winter now had the time albeit now she was in the military she still had the option to pursue one.

Problem is she didn't even know where to start or even if she wanted one, if she met anyone they'll most likely act like all the other men interested because she's a Schnee.

So for the man next to her she had to know his reason.

"Anguirus." Winter began. "Why do you want me to be your 'mate'?" She ask.

He looked confused for a moment before opening his mouth.

"I told you I follow my gut and right now my gut is telling me to make you my mate." He stated.

That was it!? Just because his gut told him to make her his girlfriend. That is completely…unexpected.

Everyone even in the military wanted her because she was a Schnee or they just didn't care. But on a gut feeling that was more along the lines of a crush or obsession.

"Is that really your reason?"

"Pretty much." He answered.

"Nothing else?"

"No."

"Well the answer is no."

"Why not?"

"Because I can't be in a relationship with you just because of instinct alone there has to be more to it." She replied.

"Well what else it there to do? You're pretty much my mate already Winter." He said confusing her.

"What do you mean by that?'

"Well after we've been through why not, we fought together, had fun at the beach together, ate together, played together today, and took a bath…" Winter covered his mouth quickly before he finished not wanting anyone to overhear that part.

"Do not finish that sentence." She warned.

He still looked confused. "Okay but still after all of that doesn't that make us mates?" He ask.

Winter didn't know how to answer that question because this was literally the third time they've seen each other and he already considers her his girlfriend just because of all the things they did together.

It was completely unthinkable, relationships don't start because of things like that, it may lead to it but that mean it makes it official.

She tried to ask another question but before she could utter a single word, she felt his lips press into hers.

Winter didn't know how long the kiss lasted because to her the entire world paused for that single moment that felt like it lasted a lifetime.

When Anguirus parted from her a trail of saliva came.

"And I guess this makes it more official that you're my mate." He said as Winter was shocked.

Her mind was whirling with thoughts that just made her angry, everything about Anguirus just angered her, he was blunt, tactless, straightforward, always taking without thinking, everything he did went against her own personal standards and now he kisses her and said that she his girlfriend now.

Winter finally had enough and was going to outright deny him.

'Oh stop lying to yourself.' A voice said.

Winter froze wondering where the voice came from.

'Yes his idea of a relationship forming is ridiculous but his feelings for you aren't, he didn't tell false praises on your beauty, give you mere flattery, or even try to court you in any way, he was always upfront about everything he was always true about everything not once was he not genuine about himself to you?'

'Who are you?'

'You know very well who I am. I'm the one voice you hardly listen to, the one voice that is overshadow by reason, held back by your fake facades in the face of others no matter how much you want break it.'

'Are you… my instincts?'

'Yes we don't talk often because I don't use my words I communicate through my feelings, your feelings.'

'What do you want?'

'Are you seriously asking that? Did you not just hear me? I'm your instincts what I want is what you want and what you want right now is to be with Anguirus.'

'That's not…'

'Who makes you happy? Who made you stay up at thinking about him? Who brings out the part of you that you buried deep inside yourself Anguirus. Because of him you did the one thing you haven't done in a long time.'

'And what's that?'

'You had fun.'

That got Winter thinking and she saw that her instincts were right, she's been denying herself for a long time now. When was the last time she had any actual fun, she can't remember a thing all of her memories was nothing more than the hardships she faced growing up not a single left time for to have some fun, it always been work, work, and more work.

But with Anguirus she had the best times of her life, times that she'll never forget because he made them memorable, and honestly she wanted to have more of them.

So maybe…maybe it was time for her to follow her gut. And right now her gut was telling to fuck it.

So without thinking Winter just grabbed Anguirus and pulled him in for another kiss.

Anguirus was surprised at first but quickly got over it and began to kiss her back.

The kiss didn't last long as Anguirus and Winter got more into it Anguirus push them off their chairs and fell to the ground.

That would've been the end of it but both parties refuse to let the other go.

It was only when the two released each other to breathe they heard a sound coming from the bushes.

Turning they saw someone hiding behind one of the pillars. The person would've been hidden well but the pair of bunny ears were sticking out like a sore thumb.

Signing that their moment had been interrupted Winter called the person out.

"There's no point in hiding we can see your ears." She said.

Slowly the person walked out revealing to be a rabbit faunas girl, by the look of her she seemed to be a second year with long brown hair.

"Oh hey it's you!" Anguirus called out. "You're one of Gojira mates right? The one that takes pictures?"

"Um yes I am." The girl meekly answered.

"Good hey do you have that thing?" Anguirus ask.

"Uh what thing?"

"You know that the thing, the thing you use to pictures." He said making the hand gesture of using a camera.

"Um do you mean my camera?" She ask.

"Yes."

"Oh well yeah I have it right here." She said producing the camera behind her.

"Good I need you to do something for me." He said.

"What are you planning?" Winter ask.

"You'll see."

A moment later the kaiju and the Atlas Specialist stood side-by-side in front of a small table and the stone pillars with the green bushes behind them.

"Okay now the two of you get close." The bunny girl whose name turns out to be Velvet said as the two did as they were told.

"Okay that's good now on three." The Bunny girl said as she began counting down but as she counts Anguirus looked at Winter with an uncertain look before an idea popped in his head.

So just before Velvet took the picture Anguirus quickly picked up Winter in a bridal carry and kissed her as Velvet's camera flashed capturing the moment between the Tenacious Kaiju and the Cold Specialist whose heart melted that day.
