Rustic Gardens Drive In – Carpentertown, PA
June 6th, 2020
Heart & Soul Wrestling is quite the peculiar organization. Much like its predecessor Northern Carnage Wrestling, it had one of the closet ties to reality than other companies in the FWM. It has the advantage of carving out a niche centered upon the state of Pennsylvania. The drawback was having to deal with real world crisis. NCW never had such a struggle aside from certain code of ethnics the State Athletic Commission enacted in response the deathmatches held in the southeastern corner of the Commonwealth. But Heart & Soul never anticipated 2020 would be so quickly engulfed in chaos its roster thought could only manifest within Heart & Soul's corner of Multiverse.
What turned into 2 weeks turned into 2 months of life shattering stillness, with very little end in sight. Heart & Soul, like many, adhered strictly to the peril the world had been thrusted into. But as time seemed to turn no-existent, people were growing restless. People wanted just a small slice of entertainment, to remind them there is a light at the end of the tunnel, to provide just enough escapism to get them to tomorrow. Heart & Soul surprised all, moving their World Championship tournament out of the scheduled venue in Pittsburgh to a drive-in theater of all places. Upon these hills, in these small towns, was the last place anyone would consider hosting a wrestling show. But Heart & Soul loved these hills and towns they called home.
But from booking to zero hour, one crisis multiplied into many. The expected crowd were no longer people seeking escapism. This was to be a crowd divided, who felt their varying frustrations were being ignored. They had no platform to peacefully vent until now. The drive-in show was the only gathering in town, with many going to see the tournament distant from other crowds of thought for what felt like ages. Heart & Soul had expected just a few dozen carloads….what they got were hundreds. The lone gate couldn't handle the traffic jam forming on the back country roads feeding into the premises. The event was set to start at 3 PM…a goal quickly thrown out as cars were still pouring in until 5. It was hoped that everyone could safely space out in the 3-screen venue….but the cars were bumper to bumper, mirror to mirror. The crowd's seats were that of their boiling metal roofs and hoods of their mode of transportation.
Cars had been driven straight into the ring apron as fans were trying to get as close as they could to the ring. They were tired of boundaries, of restrictions, they wanted to feel just the bit normal once more. But there was the very obvious dilemma that there was no ringside area. That someone could drive into and possibly warp the structure of the ring. Nausicaa felt she could pacify the crowd, managing to break through the wall of vehicles and into the ring with a live mic.
"Look, look….we didn't think we'd get to put this show on. With everything going on, however, we wanted to be able to provide you all with some sort of peace at mind. But we can't have peace at mind if we're not at peace with each other. We need for everyone to back away from the ring….please…." Nausicaa calmly asked, but the crowd seemed to not be taking her seriously. This was Heart & Soul, this is the company ran by the people who fed off of the roar of the crowd. "No seriously. You got to move back. I know its difficult with how many people are with us but its not the hardest thing to ask. We need space so everyone in the back can wrestle safely. We're trying to practice as much safety as we can. We're all in this together. We all need to give one another space nowadays."
The One Clad In Blue's cooled requests were being met with a few obnoxious spectators blasting their car horn. Others were straight forward vocal, someone shouting "SCREW YOUR RULES!" with others getting appalled. "STAY IN YOUR DAMN VEHICLE, JACKA**!" one shouts back at the heckler. "WALK AS FREE PEOPLE, DAMMIT!" Is the counter fire from the heckler. "STOP YOUR IGNORANCE!" From the one offended the heckler's still going. But eventually, cooler heads prevailed and the cars inched their way back to the designated lines inked into the grass prior to the show. But people sitting in sweltering in the heat for hours with your mind gnawed at by outside issues is a powder keg waiting to go off.
Johnny Alvarez vs. Adam Price- Quarter Finals
At the end of the day, the one thing everyone in the crowd still had part of their brain open to was the tournament. More importantly, the prize that awaited one of the 8 men prepared who strained themselves to their breaking point. The Heart Of Wrestling World Championship. The first of those challengers to appear in front of the crowd was The Spoiled Fighter. Alvarez already had a lengthy charter of world titles he had held. From his home state of Texas, to the coasts of Southern California, top prizes in Japan, and even one from Europe. Johnny was also getting a boost from the audience, for his opponent was the most hated man in the new promotion. The Top Bill, Adam Price, would be Johnny's first obstacle ahead…

Putting A Deep Depression Into The Hood With The Lemon Brook Plunge!
Johnny's ambitions for tonight were left on the truck, as a sadistically grinning Chris lurched down the constrictive aisle. He cared about just one thing on this planet: annihilating the one man who disrespected him and got away with it, Adam Price. The counterattack at Headlong was apparently not enough to satisfy Chris's lust for human destruction. What's further twisted is coming to the realization most of the spectators where CHEERING him?! They were CHEERING this psychopath? Why? Because he was going after a common enemy? Because he was their avatar to vent their frustrations through?
"Selena Set The Precedent, Guess We Can All Jump In When Someone's Knocked Down Around Here, Huh? That's Fine, I Really Like That Precedent. So Its Now You And Me! YOU And Me, Adam! I'm Killing You Right Now, Then I'm Taking The Belt And Going To Implode Your Corpse's Fractured Skull With Its Golden Plate!" Chris proclaims.
The crowd echoes his sentiments tenfold, horns honked endlessly over the shouts of "F*** HIM UP, CHRISTOPHER, F*** HIM UP!" Its hard to decide who was craving chaos more? The agitated attendees or Hell Raising House Himself!?
The seconds dragged into minutes, stretching the patience of Chris and the irate crowd to nearly their snapping point. But Adam never showed his face. His match was slated to go on first, so you could bet that he was either staying just out of view at the gorilla position or being held back by force.
"That's Just Typical Of Today. You Ask For An Audience And They Ignore You….They Ignore You Until You're Forced To Make Some Noise….And Then They F*** You With Their Technicalities!" Chris shouts, whether intentional or not getting the crowd all up in arms once more.
"COME ON, I WANT TO SEE SOME ACTION! I WANT SOME ACTION OUT THERE! WHAT IS HE GONNA DO ABOUT IT!?" WHAT IS HE GONNA DO ABOUT IT!?" Chris demanded, thinking he was egging on the crowd to taunt Adam out from hiding…but he did more than just that. Somewhere in the audience, some crazy man had JUMPED onto a stranger's parked car. They had begun stomping intensely on the innocent's windshield till it cracked, the alarm echoing in the background of the vocal audience.
"THERE ARE NO RULES, ANY LONGER! NO LONGER! COME OUT ADAM, THERE'S NO LAW YOU CAN'T HIDE BEHIND!" Chris shouted….the last thing he shouted as about a Dozen Of Tonight's Poor Man's Security (Lower Tiered Wrestlers On The Roster Not Booked For Tonight) SWARMED The Ring! They Swamped Chris So Fast He Didn't Put Up An Initial Struggle! How These Guards Got To The Ring Through The Chaotic Walls Of Vehicles One Will Never Know, But They Had Chris Pulled Out Of The Squared Circle In A Hurry!
The hope was with Chris quickly yanked from the drive-in, the crowd would calm. But aftershocks of unrest still shuttered throughout the sea of cars. Security staff was seen struggling up and around a truck, as a fight had broken out in the tier. They succeeded in pacifying the situation, but not until both agitators were bloodied. Once more the crowd had to be pleaded with to return to their respected vehicles.
"You Must Stay At You Personal Vehicles! We're Serious, The Authorities Are Not Going To Let Us Continue With The Show!" Holo, Heart & Soul's wolf deity turned ring announcer, pleaded with the crowd. "People Are Getting Hurt From This Recklessness, And Heart & Soul Doesn't Want Any Of You To Get Hurt…None Of Us Do. Please, For The Safety Of Everyone And Yourself, Stay Within The Limits Of Your Own Vehicle!"
Nobody seemed to willingly comply. But after a few more minutes of the delay being dragged on, security forces being fanned out more tightly throughout the premises, the angry mob lost its steam for the time being. Further disaster had been avoided, the show was at last allowed to continue.
Bow w/ Glimmer vs. Renton Thurston w/ - Quarter Final
The first true match of the Heart Of Wrestling Tournament began, some 15 minutes after the Pay-Per-View started rolling live. Renton Thurston was a magnet for the heat of the crowd. He and Eureka had managed to pull off a cheap but effective win over The Shield Hero and Sword at Headlong. What exactly was the genesis of Renton's bullheaded nature? It came down to some paranoid belief that nobody took him as a serious threat. To be a bit meta, Renton felt the anime fandoms had neglected his legitimacy as a main character. This vocal teen was determined to take on and defeat the world in the name of his truest love….but it came off as sheer arrogance, sheer stubbornness. Sheer bullheadedness. With one win under his belt, he hoped to claw to the top prize.
Confident from his win at Headlong, he is once more locking eyes with a newly revealed face to fictional wrestling. The opposite side of the ring was filled by cheerful aura of Bow. The 'technical archer' stood out like a sore thumb among the see of cars and sulking fans. Here was someone who looked happy to be in Mount Pleasant, and eager for what awaited him in his first moments in Heart & Soul. He was the very first Etherian to step into a Heart & Soul ring, the very first to wrestle out of the quartet being dubbed the Best Friends Squad. But his enthusiasm doesn't mar examining the hot-headed first opponent. Bow had done his homework and had not come alone. To counter Eureka, Glimmer was standing tall by her best friend's side. No funny business shall ruin the partial debut of the Best Friends Squad.
At long last the first bell ring, commencing the tournament. Though both men are even footing, Renton's experience automatically gives him the early edge. Renton is trying as hard as he can to outrun and out throw the newcomer. But Bow is noticeably able to find a avenue to try and tie up one of Renton's appendages. Renton is continually trying to snuff out the sparks of life, but eventually can't keep Bow down. Renton soon has the turn of being grappled to the canvas. The fans take (maybe unhealthy) joy in seeing Bow quieting the loud mouth teen, trying to continually grapple him in a armlock. Renton knows the ring very well, and extends the very tip of his heel to the ropes to force Bow to give up.
The ref eyes are away for a split second, enough to allow Eureka to guide Bow's ankle into the ring post. Glimmer hurries over, but the coralian had sneaked back to her respective corner. Renton quickly tries to get Bow's ankle twisted into a lock. But the technical archer had enough where-with-all to curl his foot around Renton's bent knee, toppling him to the mat. Bow tries to sprout back to his feet, but a gritty whack of a fist to his neck makes him stunned. Renton rises up with a cocky grin, recoiling and leveling Bow with a running knee to the back of the skull!
Renton continued from all directions, trying to see how many times he could strike Bow's head till it might roll down the length of the canvas. The only part of his cerebellum not mush at the moment told Bow just to stay down. It was survival, but it may be detrimental. Renton wanted to careen his knee into Bow's head for that fourth run, and dragged him into the corner to do so. Renton bolts the length of the ring….but his obsession with smashing the skull with the knees comes to bite back. Bow darts aside, shoulder shuttering off the edge of the apron as Renton's knee smashes into the middle turnbuckle!
The Technical Archer has got a lucky break. The crowd lets their aggression subside to curiosity, seeing what Bow has to offer. He uses a few chops to soften up Renton, before taking his legs out form under him with a legsweeper….maintaining control of the self-destructed leg and pulling up into a ankle lock. But he's unable to fully synch it in, as Eureka grabs her lover's flailing wrists and yanks him toward the ropes. Glimmer cuts through the interference, pushing Eureka aside but too little, too late. Renton gets a palm on the ropes to force the break.
A stiff elbow jab blinds Bow briefly with pain in his jaw. Renton hobbles up to his feet, digging his fingers into Bow's army before whipping him across the ring. He flipped Bow over and down with a brutal knee strike to the abdomen (with the good knee). Renton tries lifting Bow up for the Amita Drive, to no avail as Bow manages to counter with a bridging suplex, Renton is startled by the sudden pin he's in and rolls free!
Renton continually cuts Bow up with cheap and dirt jabs. But Bow has developed a shield of resilience. He gradually goes from picking up the patterns to continual counterfire. Renton grows increasingly desperate, his shots toward key ligaments become more powerful but also less accurate. The shift of momentum becomes entirely clear when Renton's Palm Thrusts to Bow's chest are exchanged with the same power, to the delight of the mob parked into the drive-in. But Renton still looks to be having the final say, as he manages to wrestle Bow into position for the Amit Drive….but Bow wiggles his way free, locking his arms tightly around Renton's head…And Planting Him Into The Canvas With The Stun Arrow (Tiger Suplex)! Bow Flips Over For The Complete Pin, Picking Up The Upset Victory!
Adam Price vs. Samuel Haynes-Quarter Final
Surprisingly, the Top Bill waltzed into the center of the sea of cars not with a grimace of disgust…but with a smile? He stepped into the ring, pulling with him the wired microphone meant for Holo's use in introductions. Most peculiar was the fact he was still fully dressed up in his fancy expensive suit. He looked like the last person who would dare walk out into a old school drive in packed with foul-mouth people.
"I must apologize, I'm trying to hold back from spitting toward you all. For that's the only response you swine in this pen could comprehend." Adam began, a instant jab at the already hostile crowd. "I'm hoping one good thing shall come from all of this, and that's keeping you deplorables as far away from my canvas…permanently! My talent must be admired from afar for the best effect."
"YOUR DEPLORABLE! YOUR DEPLORABLE!" A segment of the audience began to shout. On camera it may appear to have been thrown back at Adam, but some were in fact pointing across the drive-in to another segment of fans they seemed to have been disagreeing with earlier in the chaos.
"We're Deplorable! We're Deplorable! We're Deplorable!" Those being accused chanted more passively, absorbing the insult with pride.
"And that explains it all. That explains why you suddenly flip to loving a psychopath like Christopher House. Your all nothing more than a bunch of primitive deplorables, operating off of the need for blood rather than think how your going to take that bear down. BUT…..no need to dwell on that fact because natural selection has done its work again. I must thank Chris, actually, for being so blood thirsty that his rampage freed me of having to lock up with Mr Drunk Demon. Thank You Chris, Thank You For Being A Deplorable! You Just Made My Chances Of Being Champion Go Platinum!"
The crowd booed, frustrated at the realization Adam kind of had all the right to gloat. He was suppose to be wrestling Johnny in the first round…but Johnny was being taken to a medical facility for deep cuts and a possible concussion! No announcement had been made on a replacement for The Spoiled Fighter. Adam leaned back in the corner, looking far more relaxed then the angry mob sitting around him.
"Now please, folks, please be quiet. For not only shall this ten count officially advance me to the next round, but a bell salute to mourn the loss of douchebag sicko-man." Adam decrees, tilting his head back with a smirk. The official begins to make the 10 count, to make Adam's advance legit….

["Revolution…."]
["Revolution Man…"]
["Imagine All The People…"]
Adam eyes seemed to pop from his skull at the moment of the needle drop. The fans were in the dark, safe for a few clusters of diehards to popped and blared their car horns. A tall man with short dirty blonde hair came a marching with purpose down the narrow aisle. This was Samuel Haynes, The Revolution Man! Once a close ally to Adam at the start of his career, but those years were long behind them. Samuel took a shot at advancing into the big leagues, leaving Adam without a tag partner to lean upon in the indies. Adam had spent whole interviews since then venting about what he saw as a betrayal. But The Top Bill had thought he'd finally surpassed The Revolution Man, he never dreamed he would walk back into his life unannounced. Samuel was coming to the ring to make Adam back up all of the terrible accusations he'd made at the Revolution Man.
Adam was freaking out, complaining with Referee Mamoru Unno about being uninformed of this happening. He was dressed for signing checks, not earning them. Seeing someone who looked up-tight and greedy about to get their come-up-its was enough to get more of the crowd cheering for Samuel…whether the hatred was truly warranted or not. Unno was wired word through his earpiece the match was on and called for the bell. Adam furiously threw his suit jacket into Samuel's face. He charged his briefly blinded opponent, firing away with as many punches and fists that he could. Adam was incense, no wrestling from him in the early going. Samuel at last opened his line of sight, the suit jacket being discarded to the grass outside. He manages to fire back with enough power behind his fist-o-cuffs. Adam legs wobbled, as Samuel got Adam hard in the jaw. A clothesline flips the Top Bill clear over the ropes and to the soil below. The moment his eyes focused on everything around him, his world toppled over from taking the brunt of a suicide dive!
The two scuffle on the outside, with Samuel managing to avoid getting his skull cracked into the ring post. A gator roll variant of the neckbreaker spins Adam out across the grass, his sweat aiding in staining parts of his showy dress shirt green. But the Revolution Man wasn't looking to waste time rolling in the lawn of the drive-in, he came here with a purpose afterall. With Adam rolled into the ring, Samuel quickly scales the ropes and looks about ready to hit his Sky Revolution….but Adam wisely keeps his body in the momentum chain of rolling, tumbling out to the opposite side of the ring. The restless crowd are having none of it, boos shoot at the self-proclaimed Top Bill. Referee Unno bolts to the outside, unsure what the hell this rabid audience might do and tries to usher people back behind their cars.
Samuel managed to get Adam back into the ring, but the delay cost him a golden opportunity. Adam was gifted time to refocus, aiming to flatten Samuel to the mat at ever chance he could claw up. Samuel's high octane speeds dazzled the crowd, but continually lost their sparkle as Adam mauled him down over and over again. His mucked up dress shirt was eventually tossed, seemingly that thing veil of fabric having chained up his full disdain for Samuel. A Spike DDT looked to have silenced his foes, Samuel and the crowd, but the Revolution Man was far from bowing out. He knew he was going to have to go through a war if he wanted to achieve an upset much similar to the one in the previous bout.
Samuel managed to slip his head from under the palm of a one-handed bulldog, exchanging his skull for his knee in its place. Adam's momentum SPIKES his cranium into the sharp peak of the patella! See-sawed back into a swinging neckbreaker! The bewildered Adam soon gets his ribs compressed a few centimeters deeper into his chest cavity from a springboard moonsault! It was quick successions such as these that Samuel was best at, wowing the crowd with something genuine to wonder at while dropping his opponent before they knew what hit him. Samuel seemed to be advancing to the next round, a running clothesline was followed quickly by a standing elbow drop (gaining some hang time from the power of his jump off the mat).
His attempt at the Sky Revolution (Single Rotation Splash) was not to be, however. Adam got one foot up just his old friend took off, grazing one of Samuel's knees and throwing him off course into the ropes! That captivating knee plant was coming back to bite the executor. For every reaction there's a reaction, Adam's skull was rattled in exchange for making Samuel's knee brittle. Adam hons in on the knee, battering it till there's nothing left. Samuel's struggle to defend himself grow weaker and weaker. Done to one knee, he's having the hardest time imaginable getting away from Massachusetts's Strongest. Adam has a wide grin when he at last gets Samuel over his shoulder…

Leslie Haines vs Millicent Breathnach vs. Priss Asagiri- Three Way Dance- Contendership Women's Title Innuendo
For the moment, anyways, it seems the crowd at long last has been pacified. Was it fatigue after so much jeering? More likely the setting sun and cooling temperatures helped to nullify matters. No acts of violence from all the foreboding opinions putting pressure upon the ring allowed for some to re-emerge from the shelter of their vehicles. It also helped there would be a temporary change of pace in the card. Everyone was looking forward for the dreadful year of 2020 to near a end, and the last Heart & Soul event of the year is (at present) slated to be Innuendo. On that card is a Fatal Four Way to crown the first women's champion in company history. One slot had been controversially filled in a 21 woman battle royale. Two more were to be filled tonight in a set of Three Way Dances.
Out first came one of the biggest names created in the aforementioned battle royale. Millicent Breathnach had impressed many in Philadelphia with her highlight reel of eliminations and sheer strength. Even being at the Rustic Gardens, far removed from the lights of the city, the Emerald Amazon still maintained her newfound following. Millicent was eager for the second chance opened to securing one of the remaining sports at Innuendo. If it was a popularity contest, she would have already been there.
The crowd was not fond of The Heiress. That was quite alright to Leslie Haines, for she had not love for the angry mob either. It was obvious she was struggling to hold back her repugnancy of the atmosphere of the Rustic Gardens. This was the last sort of venue she ever dreamed of performing in. She at last exhaled the moment she entered the squared circle, the pitch black canvas far more to her liking then the vulgar crowd surrounding it.
Priss Asagiri rides into the drive-in with speed & sound, literally. The sight of the Knight Saber riding in on her red hot motorcycle with "Konya Wa Hurricane" booming off the Pennsylvania hills distracts everyone from their own divisions, cheering and going wild in a positive manner for a few moments. Leslie is unimpressed, Priss revs the engine a few more times just to spite The Heiress before at last entering the ring.
Priss seems to be weighing the odds on who is the greater threat at the sound of the opening bell. Millicent has the power advantage, but Leslie is far more cunning. She doesn't have long to decide, as Leslie lunges toward her. Millicent, still being green in the ring, sort of follows suit and ganging up on Priss. Leslie and Millicent take turns in exchanging shots before they double Irish Whip into the ropes, with Millicent delivering a big boot to stun Priss to the mat. From here, Millicent is taking on the Knight Saber one on one, Leslie peters out of sight. Priss is fighting a uphill battle against the Emerald Amazon, but soon is on even footing. The two battle one another for several minutes, the see-saw action seems to begin to be won over by Priss. The Knight Saber manages to continually target Millicent's knees. A series of shoot kicks briefly crumbles Millicent low enough for a running single leg high knee. But rather capitalize and go for the quick elimination, Priss darts over the ropes and give Leslie her first taste of real contact the whole night with a suicide dive!
Leslie's ploy to allow the others to batter themselves into exhaustion was exposed, but it was too late for Priss to do anything about it. Millicent had enough time to get back on her feet and barnstorm through the Knight Saber. Priss's attempts to go head to head with the Emerald Amazon was far from the smartest decision. She was scooped off her feet and planted into the mat, the ring shuttering from several backbreakers and other various slams. Priss makes one last bid to salvage the match, but her wind up kick to set up the Bubblegum Crash is caught and fed into the Dublin Watchtower (Inverted Full-Nelson Into Sit-Out Powerbomb), the elimination is complete.
The instant Referee Matthew Gallatin counts the three, Leslie darts into action. She pummels Millicent from behind with a fury of smacks across the back of her skull. For a few moments, the match looks like its going to end abruptly as the Heiress sets her prey up for a Curb Stomp. Millicent scampers to her feet just a bit too early for the execution. Leslie's punches can't live up to the power behind Millicent's haymakers. The pendulum backbreaker crushes Leslie to the mat, but it would appear the Emerald Amazon is just about spent. Trying to finish Leslie off with the Dublin Watchtower backfires, Leslie is lethal in cutting her sharp heel into the weakened knee. Millicent puts up a brave defense that's ultimately in vain, as Leslie attempts to silence the audience by torturing the Emerald Amazon until she taps to the Interrotwist (Camel Clutch). Gallatin, seeing the pain poor Millicent is in, doesn't hesitate to call for the bell. Even with the match won, Leslie isn't full satisfied. She pulls Millicent back into the Interrotwist, tugging the short circuiting nerves of the crowd. The Heiress wants the image of her seemingly dominating the Emerald Amazon to be burned into everyone's memory…not the fact she just let Priss and Millicent tire themselves out and did little for half of the match. But those two are now in her rear view mirror, as Leslie got a date with destiny in November.
Vash The Stampede vs. Max Rockantasky- Quarter Final
It seems all of the early grievances the crowd had at the world and among themselves had been solved, when everyone cheered in anticipation at the sound of "H.T." rip-roaring into everyone's ears. Who could stay mad when Vash The Stampede is coming to the ring, promoting "LOVE AND PEACE"? He already had a boost to his joyful spring, being 1-0 thus far in Heart & Soul. He also carried a innocent swagger of confidence while stepping through the ropes. This was not the first time he had fought his opponent in the Keystone State. It is not the first time he's face this foe in the setting of a championship tournament, either.
Mad Max Rockantasky makes his stoic entrance. He's entirely detached from the rest of the crowd, indifferent if they cheer or boo him. Max is on one lone mission just like everyone else, to gain the prize of the Heart Of Wrestling Championship. But the obstacle in his way had already defeated him before. He was determined to not let Vash stop him a second time.
As one might tell by the short paragraphs describing our combatants, the match itself was short but far from lacking a punch. Max came bursting out of the gates with punches, kicks and shoving to try and send Vash into a haze of confusion. For the first few moments, Max seems to have the right idea. The match spills to the outside and goes all around, getting the fans further engrossed as Vash is rammed into the grill of a jeep close to the ring. A leg sweeper cracks Vash's shoulder blades and neck into the hood of another vehicle. But what was Max's quick Achilles was that Vash one a person able to absorb quite a deal of punishment. Vash was allowing Max to burn himself out in a hurry. Vash's first offenses are feints, meant to exasperate Max's stamina. He gets a few quick jabs to the spine here and there that Max doesn't think anything of initially. But one back in the ring, Vash pulls all the strings that bring Max tumbling to the canvas time and time again. Vash defeats Max once again, this time via the Long Colt (Lifting Double Underhook Sitout Facebuster), advancing to the joy of himself and crowd to the next round.
Hernan Ortiz vs. X-Virus- Quarter Final
The "New Enigma" blasts to the ring like being shot out of a cannon. A bit difficult to see with his fiery white mask with frizzling red flames, he's grinning with natural adrenaline. Ortiz aspirations were fueled by the energy being kept under a lid, just waiting to boil over and aid him in scaling the first rung toward the Heart of Wrestling Championship. At the moment, the only thing marring him were some sarcastic fans sitting on the roof of their vehicle chanting, "NOT CDC APPROVED! NOT CDC APPROVED!" over the wonderful wrestling mask. But it was all in good fun, Hernan and those fans knew that both ways.
The air turned bitter the instant "Everybody Down" by Nonpoint crackles awake, complete with the old NCW "Virus Is Spreading" radio broadcast prelude. It was a unwise move for Heart & Soul execs to have this man carrying that over, for sarcastic chants turned to hateful shouts, that pent up angry we saw from the crowd earlier is switched back into action. X-Virus is unfazed, he is detached from what he probably views a petty things with no business being in the ring. If Hernan is charged by adrenaline, X-Virus is powered by methodical determination. The crowd want to project their grievances with the year just because of a name involving 'virus"? That's just more fuel for the fire X-Virus hopes to disintegrate his opponent with.
The opening minutes are a seamless chain of locks transitioning to further holds. All of these being achieved at break neck pace. It's a bit hard to tell but a careful eye can tell Hernan is just a hair faster than X-Virus. Hernan is clearly aiming to win through pure running shots that compress X-Virus. His mysterious opponent however moved quick enough to not just keep him off balance, but also to bend and stretch as many joints one could in a few seconds. The crowd winces every time Hernan spine or neck is crunched in a manner unnatural. So every time Hernan manages to twist back on the offensive, a mass wave of satisfaction washes across the angry mob. Hernan wows the audience by transitioning out of a Asai DDT, dropping to the mat with X-Virus jaw darting straight into the canvas from a sitout jawbreaker!
Hernan could outmaneuver X-Virus, but he always seemed to be coming up just a bit short. The New Enigma scratched and clawed his way free from a Boston Crab. Though he managed to recover, X-Virus yanked him out of the air later on into a vicious Three Quarters Nelson Suplex. He quickly follows up straining Hernan's spine with what he labels X-Rated (Belly-To-Back Suplex Into A Sitout Powerbomb). Hernan perseveres, reigniting the crowd behind him. After lighting up X-Virus with chops and neckbreaker, he spends the rest of his vigor to plant X-Virus with the Oxymoron Turmoil (Pumphandle Half Nelson Driver). On spaghetti legs he shovels X-Virus up on the turnbuckle, shakily hooking the wrists for the finisher. The crowd grow restless, bellies full of butterflies as they pray Hernan will pull out the win…

But X-Virus Transitions Mid-Air Into A Sitout Shiranui!
The air escapes the mouths of all the fans, their high hopes dispersing as Hernan is dazed. X-Virus's head bobbles about unnatural before locking into place, an aura of sinister resolve is sensed by everyone in the crowd. Boos are indiscriminate, but the oppression goes from in story "F X VIRUS!" chants to "F THE VIRUS" cries that are tapping into the boiling unrest outside of the Rustic Gardens. Whichever reason they are booing him, sincere or an excuse to vent, it seems to fuel X-Virus's viciousness of executing the Virus Injection (Powerbomb into a Double Knee Backbreaker)! The Knees Are Sharp Stakes Jamming Into The Shoulder Blades!
The New Enigma can only tighten his facial muscles to express the pain shooting deep into his core. A chilling head tilt demonstrates X-Virus's detachment from the pit of agony he'd thrown Hernan into. There's no care in his brute grappling of Hernan back to his feet, looking to execute the Emerald Flowison….that transition into the spike piledriver to complete Crashbug Road! With a single hand planted over the chest, X-Virus pins Hernan for the victory. X-Virus advances beyond the re-agitated crowd and to the second round of the tournament.
Best Friends Squad (Adora & Catra) vs. Team FCKU (Karen Cashew & Ulema Brown)
The bitterness of the crowd washed over into the next contest. What was meant to be a palate cleanser for the tournament was about to be meddled into something quite ugly. Making their debuts to Heart & Soul and the entire Fiction Wrestling Multiverse are the 2018 incarnations of Adora & Catra. The former puts her best step forward into the unknown with a friendly smile, the latter is close behind as if bracing for the worst from the unknown world she'd stepped into. Both are met with apprehension nobody could anticipate. Be it just how new they were to the fictional wrestling circuit or some prior misconceptions, that segment of the crowd riling against 2020 vented further frustrations upon the representatives of the Best Friends Squad. It's a callous reaction Adora & Catra was not expecting, and one Heart & Soul was not wishing to promote.
Only riling up the crowd further (but in a less controversial manner) are their opponents. The Grimm Queen strut to the ring oozes of being both seductive yet sinister. This is not the first time the Heart & Soul audience had seen Karen Cashew, they saw her last in the woman's Suites & Queen Royale. Although coming up short in Philadelphia, she couldn't help but grin at the second opportunity displayed before her. Now back in a tag environment with Ulema Brown, the female half of Team FCKU looked to walk into the Rustic Gardens and leave with a easy victory. The rabble that surrounded the ring played perfectly for FCKU success, at least Cashew hoped it would.
When Referee Macy Tarr orders the bell to mark the match's start, its Adora & Karen that are the first two in the ring. Although Karen may never be described as the fanciest wrestler or most experienced, she's made to look like a master of the squared circle in the opening moments. Chants of "SOCIAL JUSTICE CRAP! SOCIAL JUSTICE CRAP!" only further rattle Adora, she's too distracted to stop Karen's first wave of attacks. The missile dropkick to the back of Adora's skull is the punctuation mark on her first few moments in the ring, her eyes rolling over for instant. The Grimm Queen relishes in the destruction, pinning Adora's throat with the bulk of her calf & knee. Catra quickly tries to free Adora, but Referee Tarr is quick to cut her off to maintain some law and order within the ropes.
Karen was savoring every slow and insulting stomp or jab. She was being egged on by the intolerant mob sitting in their cards, getting a few rousing cheers by cutting her elbows into Adora's neck after a sit-out facebuster. The mob, however, fatigued themselves in their jeers and soon went mellow. Karen's heel digs and verbal assaults were now falling on death ears. A few flashes of life from Adora put the Grimm Queen on shaky ground, yet she was determined to finish this match quickly and on her own. Both partners were eager to get in; Catra wanting to save Adora, Ulema wanted to get her time to shine. Karen tagged in Ulema, but quickly went into the prosses of dumping the battered supposed incarnation of She-Ra out to the grass. It was like tossing out trash to Karen, who visibly wiped her hands clean and allowed Ulema to pick up the pieces for a predicted quick win.
Ulema tries getting a proper grasp on Adora, whose able to evade ever time. Ulema manages to catch up around one of the ring posts, but Catra had seen enough of her beloved dragging herself through the grass and mud. A diving double feet kick exacts some revenge, it definitely freezes the Timestopper. Ulema is able to match Catra, the two brawl into the grill over one of the cars parked nearby. Referee Tarr hurries to try and regain control, but Ulema had seemingly restored the lopsided battering this match had become with a running lariat. Seeing some fans wince, Karen barks orders for Ulema to "give here an eye for an eye!" Ulema quickly whacks the back of Catra's head off the hood of the car. She wanted to turn her attention back to her legal foe, but the Grimm Queen was cackling seeing Catra slumped by a tire. "AGAIN!" Karen demands, and remaining loyal to Team FCKU, batters Catra's shoulder into the sharp edge of the front bumper. The occupants of the vehicle grow justifiably irked having their ride home scratched and dented, and shouts for Ulema to cease start peppering up.
The Timestopper's lights are knocked out by a spear from Adora! A few fans pipe up and cheer at this small measure of justice, Adora swiftly shovels Ulema up onto the canvas. Briefly checking up on Catra, who motions for her to take the initiative, Adora slides back into the ring and drops Ulema back to the canvas with a running arm drag. For a minute, Adora is in complete control. A Northern Lights Suplex has Ulema stunned, but Adora's focus shifts toward the outside. The Grimm Queen had cleverly yanked Catra back off the apron, the perpetrator darted back to her corner before Referee Tarr could call her out. With back turned, Ulema snatches Adora's shoulders from behind and rattles her spine with a double knee backbreaker!
The match went right back to Karen & Adora, with the Grimm Queen once more taking more time to gloat than to execute. She tries to stretch and pull Adora's ligaments to their breaking point. This time, however, Adora persevered. Karen goes from being in control to finding herself up on Adora's shoulders, being slammed down into the canvas with a Samoan Drop! Adora dives to the corner before Karen can recover, Catra is tagged in, getting the first positive response for the Best Friends Squad all night!
Catra pounces on Karen, laying in shots and one good swipe with her claws. Karen rips back with a rake of the eyes, taking note of the blood that creeps from the slashes upon her cheek. She unloads on Catra with chops, the humanoid feline digs her heels in to absorb the initial attacks. Karen's arrogant eyes go wide with shock anytime Catra gets an arm locked tight, clearly trying to set up for a Fujiwara Armbar. Karen eventually manages to throw Catra aside, landing on all fours and charging back at the Grimm Queen. Karen scrapes Ulema's hand, getting out of the ring and letting the Timestopper deal with the matter. Catra was on a roll, but stopped when Referee Tarr tries to allow Ulema enough chance to just get into the ring. Karen takes advantage, back on the outside and briefly clasps Catra's ankle. Ulema capitalizes on the distraction, Catra's dropped by a Gamengiri! Adora tries to highlight the distraction, but that's already long in the past.
The duo representing the Best Friends Squad had been trying their hardest to claw there way back to even footing on the match, but continued to fight an lopsided fight. Not just from distractions and double teaming on the part of Team FCKU, but the hostile angry mob parked around the ring. The strangest thing was the more it seemed one segment of the audience warmed up to Adora & Catra, the louder the opposition. As if there was a pool of people not wanting to allow anyone to have a change of heart. You'd hear a "Lets Go Catra" chant be drowned out by boos, with shouts of "HYPOCRITES!" Needless battle lines were being drawn yet again, the split mob seemed ready to explode no matter the outcome of the match.
Catra & Adora endured it all, managing to find even ground with their de facto veteran rivals. But what they could not do on this night was push forward. After a wil spat, the ring was down to Adora & Ulema. Adora seemed to had the upper hand, trying to set up something with a fireman's carry. She was blind to see Karen sneaking back up form behind and swinging her sharp foot into the spinal column of Adora. Her jaw fell upon the ropes, being guillotined with Ulema's Shoot It Up (Guillotine Leg Drop) for the win. The mob were none too pleased with the decision, adding to the confusion and chaos of the night. Several unspecified wrestlers hurried from the dressing area out of view from the crowd to give both the victorious Team FCKU & defeated Best Friends Squad safe passage out of the ring.
Bow w/ Glimmer vs. Adam Price- Semi-Finals
The reignited chaos got so severe that the show was once again brought to a stand still. Holo was feeding calming words to disperse hostile factions within the sea of vehicles, most falling on death ears. When rest seemed to fail to quell their craving for senseless conflict, the decision was made to quickly rush into the semi-finals of the Heart Of Wrestling Championship Tournament.
The entrance of the Top Bill managed to divert the ramble's angry of the world squarely upon the man who was the target of the Psychotic Bastard earlier in the night. This 'healthy' venting was deflected by Adam who managed to keep his composure chilled under all the hot rage surrounding him. He had things far more important that appeasing a angry mob on his mind. Cries of "ADAM'S A COWARD!" rang out. With the crowd so caught up in hating Adam, Bow managed to make a entrance spared from unnecessary opposition that Adora & Catra had to confront.
Bow had somehow managed to find a soft spot in the callous hearts the angry mob. Bow rode the first third of the match on the wave of newfound support from the hundreds at ringside, forcing the Top Bill to go on the defensive against Bow's quick and wild actions. Adam tries to wrestle Bow down to the mat, but gets rolled up in the air with the Bow & Arrow lock. Adam however is able to continually power through all the locks Bow can tie him into. A Spike DDT puts dings in the stamina armor, however. Adam wrestles control, hitting a back nelson backbreaker that severally withers Bow's strength.
Both Glimmer & the crowd try to will Bow back into the fight with moderate success. Bow staves off disaster when finding himself in place for Pay The Price, sliding down and sweeping Adam up with a White Russian Legsweep. The crowd pops seeing Brown put on the ankle lock, clasping all his strength into squeezing the ankle into submission. But Adam claws his way and garners the rope break. If That could not do him in, what could? That's the question that Bow's face painted. Adam wasn't afraid to go for the old school eye poke to blind his opponent. Who cared about winning the love of a angry mob, all that will matter after tonight is who is champion. After a vicious stomp to the shoulders of a prone Bow, Adam puts him away by a successful Pay The Price, moving on to the finals.
X-Virus vs. Vash The Stampede- Semi Finals
Vash walked into the unknown during his second entrance this night. He was well aware of how to fight and defeat Max, but X-Virus possessed as the most dangerous threat Vash had yet faced in the short history of Heart & Soul. Not only was this their first ever encounter, but Vash never had the proper time to study up. Even if he did, we've already seen that X-Virus is a violent enigma. While the crowd isn't as hostile, the warring chants between polarized segments of the audience is still jarring enough to through Vash off his game at the opening of the match. X-Virus is wild and unhinged, not as calculated as we was against Hernan. Vash tried to feel out X-Virus but got more than he bargained for, being twisted inside out with a Suicide Dive that morphed into a Tornado DDT into the ground!
The crowd keeps misguiding their hatred for outside factors into opposition toward the talent meant to entertain them, the chants of "F*** THE VIRUS!" continue. This only puts fuel on the fire, the poor burn victim being Vash. X-Virus grows wilder and wilder, showing crazy strength to back body drop Vash on the stairs without any exhaustion. The Spike Infection (Crucifix Driver) rolls into a pin on Vash, the Humanoid Typhoon gets the shoulder up. 6 minutes in, this is when Vash gets his first shots back with a Fisherman's Suplex. Getting X-Virus off his feet is the first step in Vash's long climb back to a level playing field. X-Virus continues cutting deep into Vash, grabbing his jaw and worming out of a another suplex attempt into a poor man's mandible claw. Vash finds enough strength to lift X-Virus back off his feet, dropping him down with a brainbuster!
X-Virus begins to take blows that may/may not bring trauma later down the line. But every time he's knocked down, he stuns Vash & the crowd in horror by tapping out. What will put down this mysterious wrestler? Vash seems to be at his wits end trying to find a way to put him away, resulting in his go at the Angel Arm (Diving Discus Clothesline) being pulled into Collision X (Inverted Spinning Fireman's Carry Stunner)…
…
…
…
But Vash Kicks Out, Snapping The Crowd Back To Life From Their Self-Loathing Stupor (At least for the moment)! If his face wasn't obscured, you can be certain you'd be seeing genuine shock for the first time from X-Virus. He seems to be in panic mode, trying to throw everything he can to keep Vash down. The punches and kicks are wildly erratic, not having much effect they would if they were calculated. Vash powers out of another attempt at the mandible claw, throwing X-Virus on his shoulders and running him at full speed into the turnbuckles with the Trigun Stampede (Oklahoma Stampede), staggering to the finals of the tournament!
Pyrrha Nikos vs. Helena Kay Nicholl vs. Sarah Ortiz – Three Way Dance - Contendership Women's Title Innuendo
One final 'respite' for the final two set to fight over the Heart Of Wrestling Championship. But do not let 'respite' think this second Three Way Dance was something to snooze on. There were two slots still open in the Fatal Four Way at Innuendo to crown the first women's champion in Heart & Soul. We've known Selena Richardson has the first slot. Earlier on the card Leslie Haines secured slot number two. Who shall secure slot number three?
The mob-like crowd made it clear who they DID NOT want to win. The Royal Highness, Helena Kay Nicholl, took the harsh reaction in disgust. Thinking herself legit royalty based purely on family wealth, a drive-in movie theater in a poorer part of the rust belt was the last spot she imagined achieving glory. Helena only worsens the reaction, calling one particular rowdy fan a "revolting pig". This was not the type of crowd to poke fun with, some were legit out for blood. The lights of a neighboring car flip on, engine turns on, the driver intimidates thoughts he's about ready to run right into the self-professed Royal Highness. Helena jumps up to the safety of the ring apron and recomposes herself. She clears her teal ring boots of any dirt or other muck before entering the ring, a place comparatively safer than ringside with the angry mob.
Sarah Ortiz exits with pure energy, but isn't able to fully wipe the crowd's minds of malice dreams. Nevertheless, the Female Enigma was going to make the best of what was becoming a bad night for Heart & Soul. She'd always wished to be women's champion in NCW, but had only gotten as far as the Spirit belt. She just had to take two steps to get to the promise land, the first being in a match where anything goes. There was still a decent portion of the audience who were there purely for the wrestling, and these fans wanted nothing more than Sarah to advance to the Innuendo card.
The bombastic military marching entrance of Pyrrha Nikos brings everyone to their feet like usual. Only this time she actually made it to the ring unscathed. Following the still under investigation hit & run ambush at Headlong, Pyrrha was determined to get a second fair shot (…Helena is also technically getting a second shot but Heart & Soul are making a error in not mentioning that .-.) freed of any injury. She was escorted to the ring by a team of 'guards (…who were actually just extra wrestlers yet to properly debut in Heart & Soul as the company had a noticeable lack of professional security), ensuring safe passage. Pyrrha was back inaction and this time focused on spearing her way to Innuendo.
Unlike the previous Three Way Dance, this contest took great advantages of the 'anything goes' clause of the match. Sarah dazzled her opponents and the crowd with a running springboard plancha, collapsing both Helena & Pyrrha back first upon one of the nearby cars! Helena dirty…well, as dirty as someone of royalty gets, by using the classic brass knuckles to soften up Sarah. Pyrrha avoided the brass knuckles and opted to brawl with Helena deep into the angry mob. The executives like Nausicaa had to be tensing up seeing fans who were so callous, vulgar and unpredictable to be so near two of Heart & Souls prized talents. Helena & Pyrrha took a terrifying fall off the roof of the projectionist building into a garbage bin. This was the result of a Front Facelock STO! Helena's perfectly cleaned gear was permanently soiled, 'Her Royal Highness' convulsed after reawakening, surrounded by disposable cups, napkins, masks, etc.
Things did return to the ring, as one still had to pin their opponent within the ropes to get the elimination. It seemed the fans were going to be given a second chance at a happy conclusion when Pyrrha had Helena set up for Miló Javelin (Spear)…

But A Cloaked Figure Slides Into The Ring Behind Pyrrha, Taking Her Out With A Spinning Heel Kick To The Back Of The Head! The Crowd Is Bewildered, Helena Lifts Her Head To See The Invincible Girl Being Drilled Into The Canvas With A Cross-Legged Fisherman Buster! Poor Man's Security (…the extra wrestlers) Race To The Ring To Try And Apprehend The Suspect, Who's Too Quick And Flees Through The Angry Mob. Helena Picks Up The Pieces, Sliding To Her Knees And Covering Pyrrha To Eliminate Her From The Match!
The fans cry bull, some try to rush toward the ring in dissent! Poor Man's Security manages to keep any from climbing up the apron, but can't take any of the reckless public away for being outnumbered if anyone gets escorted out of the drive-in. To the presumable relief of Heart & Soul's authority, Sarah was quick to capitalize on Helena gloating over cheaply eliminating Pyrrha. There's a brief spat, but Sarah counters a snap suplex from Helena into a Inverted DDT, quickly followed up by the Angelic Splash (Frog Splash) for the victory! Sarah Ortiz secures the third slot in the women's title match at Innuendo. She quickly bows in celebration, then is ushered out of the drive-in by Poor Man's Security to avoid the unpredictable riot the crowd had de-evolved into.
Adam Price vs. Vash The Stampede – Heart Of Wrestling World Championship
Before the main event could occur, order once again had to be restored upon the drive-in. Someone had called in an ambulance which was visibly parked off to the right of the hard camera. At least one fan had been so badly trampled over during the stampede toward the ring they needed to be taken to the hospital. By this time to it could be expected authorities had been notified about the sheer pandemonium the crowd was possessed with, as the lights of one police car continued to flash over the crowd for the remainder of the night. A grim backdrop to only continue to put everyone on needles for the match that will determine the course of Heart & Soul's immediate future.
Vash The Stampede walked out for the third time tonight, the last to have what remains of the good nature among the fans. He is their avatar in this match to bring home a victory for everyone to call the night well worth it. He had the added advantage of experience. 22 Years to Adam's 10. Vash would never admit it, but he did strongly dependent upon a good supportive crowd to carry him through the day. But this wasn't a peace loving crowd, this was a angry mob that was easily tempered. Adam gained his confidence through spiting the crowd, something he'd championed doing all night. He took the time to smear it in everyone's face the chances of getting a bye through the tournament, then played cold and stern in the second round. The riot around him would not affect him like it would Vash.
Adam & Vash take it easy in the first few moments. Adam's grueling match was with Samuel, though Bow also put up a good fight as well. Adam seemed to have more stamina in the early going, trying to wrestle Vash continually down to the mat and tie him up in holds exasperating the spine. Vash tries switching out, gaining speed to daze Adam with kicks and knee strikes. He can't quite get the Fisherman Suplex, Adam whips back with a snap suplex. Adam again goes to grounding Vash, frustrating the Human Typhoon and agitating the gabbling crowd even more. But The Top Bill can't win the championship by just rolling on the canvas all day. He tries for the Double Underhook Backbreaker but is thwarted, Vash counters and gives Adam some brush burns back a running swinging neckbreaker!
Vash has slipped to the outside, throwing out a peace sign to the audience before going for a running side boot to the prone Adam. The Top Bill tucks his head in, dropping behind Vash, lariat attempt. Vash avoids by letting himself drop to the ground, hooking Adam's head for a DDT! The Humanoid Typhoon took control, wheeling the action back into the ring. Some short attacks soften Adam up for the Fisherman Suplex, this time a success. But Adam gets the shoulder up to keep his name at the top. Vash tries for the Trigun Stampede but doesn't get any takeoff. Adam stabs Vash nastily in the jaw with his knee, sliding off the shoulders with a tug at the hair on the way out. Referee Mike Attitude parts the two wrestlers away, telling Adam off for the cheap hair snag. But Adam was hoping just for this, allowing Vash to charge ahead and let him go blindly shoulder first into the ring post. There he grabs the waistline of Vash's pants for a roll up pin that will ultimately be written as in vain.
Vash's hand twitches toward the crowd, boiling up all of their sentiments as he locks his other hand with Adam's. An attempt at a hand-locked lariat is brought to a stand still by a punch that looked very suspicious of a eye-poke. Whether it was or wasn't, the referee never saw. Adam uses the length of the ring to get as much sprint to one-handed bulldog. Time for Vash to Pay The Price, which Adam executes disgustingly beautiful.

The angry mob flipped to being blinded with rage. The last person anyone in the Rustic Gardens wanted to see be the torch carrier of Heart & Soul had rightfully secured the gold. Adam was genuinely ecstatic when the bell rung, when Holo announced him as "Heart Of Wrestling World Champion", and when the ownership of the championship belt itself was handed over to him by Referee Mike Attitude. But that genuine happiness got corrupted with devilish rejoice. Nothing grander to him was proving all the nay-sayers wrong and doing it in style. He Was The World Champion, Not Them. But how is one to be World Champion if they don't reflect the world? When the world is only through their tunnel vision of glitter & gold?
Adam would have loved to rub the salt in the wound of all of the bitter fans. But Poor Man's Security forcefully escorted him from the ring as the crowd was a moving seas of people. Some were leaving in disgust over Vash loosing. Others were outraged by how other fans had turned what should have been a bright spot in a dark year into the lowest point of their summer. The warring factions that had corrupted I Want It All with their war of words over outside issues continued to heckle on another. That was until Nausicaa herself, Heart & Soul's COO, could be heard on the audio system ordering people to leave. "The Show Is Over! Please SAFELY Make Your Way To The Nearest Exist! Give The Car Infront Of You Space…GIVE THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU SPACE!"
So ended I Want It All. A historic night for Heart & Soul indeed….but not for the reasons intended. Just like the crowd evaporating from the Rustic Gardens Drive-In, so to did the aspiring hopes Heart & Soul had kicked off with back in February. Its founders had opened up this promotion in the backyard of devote fans from their days in Northern Carnage Wrestling…but June 6th, 2020 was a reminder to the men and women of Heart & Soul that those times were far gone. Where do they take it from here?
