Heart & Soul: Grit

Episode 1

January 7th, Year 2

CourageDome

Kingwood, WV

The live feed spirals out of a crooked zoom upon a hunk of heavy steel. White pyro erupts out like a blowtorch cutting clean through. The pull back of the camera was to reveal that there are in fact five identical steel marquees encircling the ring. Each exploding sign rests on top of 5 sets of double decked shipping containers. They're a life hack to creating balcony seating, as large viewing holes are cut through the ringside face of each container. Thankfully, there is a bit of a hangover jutting from the top containers to gutter the sparks of the pyro harmlessly out of view.

The fountain of white sparks ceases, revealing the show's title crudely bored through the metal. Several quick zoom ins are given to the small but vocal crowd on hand. A rough estimate would be about 300 spectators. A sign reading "Will Price Give Me My Stimulus!" is seen from one grizzly older fan, a young woman's poster features snap shots of Shayne & Ivory with wishful sympathies when they walk out tonight with tag team gold.

There is a camera for panoramic views perched up on one of the shipping container balconies. We get an all-encompassing pan to the left to grasp all the inner workings of this show's home. The shipping containers are positioned to form a hexagonal perimeter where all the action SHOULD be contained. Why hexagonal? It perfectly mirrors the 6-sided ring sitting in the center of the scenery. Purples ropes, black aprons, black squared ring posts, silver corner buckles more seen in Japan, a purple border designating the region for rope breaks. The majority of the canvas is pitch black; save for the silver outline of the words "HEART SOUL" stacked on top of one another and stitched together by '&'.

"Welcome To The CourageDome, The New Home Of Heart & Soul Wrestling. For The Next Two Hours, It's Grit. LIIIVE On AMC!" A new cheerful voice introduces.

The camera is now zooming in toward the most notable side of the CourgeDome, where there are no balconies. Instead there is the skeletal frame of a old rail flatcar. The trucks beneath are obscured by mismatching scrap metal that's been thrown together as skirting. Decking has been applied so one can safely walk across this impromptu platform, which itself is tiered into 2 levels. A table sits on either side of the frame of the trailer, for commentary & time keeping respectively. In the absolute center of the tier above rests the hard camera from which all in ring action will predominantly be transmitted through. Above the 'comms flat" (that's what we'll call that mess from now) is a modest sized titantron. Presently its keeping in uniform with the CourageDome and displaying the GRIT logo; a steel block with the word blow torched through. A series of tiny LEDs run up, down and all across a black curtain. Lights that will certainly change colors for every wrestler throughout the night.

"I'm Ai Tananbe." Ai continues, now that the camera has zoomed in on the commentary table.

"And I'm The Nostalgia Critic, I Remember So You Don't To." Her disheveled colleague from Chicago adds.

"On This HISTORIC Thursday Night Outing, We Will Be Crowning Our Very First Soul Tag Team Champions! Four Teams, Three Matches, Only One Will Be Standing In The Middle Of The Ring Claiming The Front Page Of History Books Generations From Now." Ai announces, full of energy getting her first chance to lead on a show's commentary.

"But above all other importance, the Top Bill Will Be Gracing Us With His Presence Tonight! He's Here To Address His Future In Heart & Soul! Hopefully To Tell Us When He's Getting His Paycheck Smelted Into Gold." Critic exclaims.

"Smelted Into Gold?" Ai asks confused.

"He's the only one on our roster whose paycheck is so rich, they give it to him in gold bars to be made into golden rings! Get With The Program, Ai!" Critic claims.

"He's Not Being Handed Bars Of Gold." Ai deadpans.

"Ask him, he'll tell you." Critic says.

"I Will When I Get Down There…later!" Ai states. "I'm sure Adam will have a lot to say about this. As we have the first half of the four Gold Rush Qualifiers! 8 competitors, 4 matches to decide who will advance ever further up to compete in a Fatal Four Way Ladder Match, our company's FIRST ever ladder match! That's slated to occur in a few weeks time. Doctor Jo Nason will face West Virginia's own Graydon Hatfield in one qualifier tonight!"

"Hatfield's never been in a real match till tonight! How the hell he get that spot!" Critic cries out.

"Booker DeWitt will also be making his Heart & Soul debut in another Qualifier when he faces The King Of Vinyl, Atticus Brown." Ai adds. "And we will be running through the Top 3 Most Memorable Moments of last year in Heart & Soul."

The camera had by this time phases away to a shot narrowing in upon the right rectangular entry portal. "Warriors" by Aliyah Rose had begun to play, crowd cheers, Critic quickly shifts the focus.

"And Ai, Already SLIPPING As My Co-host. Ignoring The Wrestling Part Of This Wrestling Show Coming In To Play!" Critic declares.

Best Friends Squad vs. Team FCKU – Semi Finals – Soul Tag Team Championship Tournament

For The First Match On The First Episode Of Grit, We Have A Rematch From Last Summer. That time it was a unknown duo facing a experienced but hungry team. Now, Catra & Adora have made everyone attentive to the fact that belong in Heart & Soul after a stellar victory over the Miyazaki Maidens. But now its time to prove it wasn't a fluke, now they must put Karen Cashew & Ulema Brown down and behind. But nobody is expecting it to be easy, as the ladies of Team FCKU are digging in their heels and bracing for the impassioned charge they know is coming. They deflect the BFS' wave of adrenaline, they'll ride out this storm and move closer to getting the championship.

Its Ulema & Adora to kick things off; Adora wants to get the one-up for being pinned by Shoot It Up in the last encounter. Ulema tries out pacing the Princess Of Power, staving off a suplex she knows will rattle her spine. Adora starts quickly appearing to get sloppy, being stretched thin by Ulema's running and foot jabs. But her arm gets ducked and snagged at a attempted lariat, she's spun around and slam ducked into the canvas via a overhead belly to belly suplex. Adora makes a quick change off to Catra, wanting to keep the momentum hot. Catra pounces from the top turnbuckle with a go at a foot stop to Ulema's chest though the Time Stopper manages roll out of harms way. Karen calls for Ulema to change off, but Ulema doesn't wish to look like she's running from a fight. Karen must tag in by force, colliding in a collar-elbow tie up, Karen manages to out muscle Catra! She wants to plunge Catra back first with a Samoan Drop but Catra clamps down on to the arm. Bending it funky, Karen looses her grip and is whipped to the mat by a arm drag.

Karen keeps moving on the canvas, not letting Catra get a chance to truly sync the arm up into the Cat's Paw. Catra senses this going nowhere and tries to grab Karen by the heel instead. Whatever she was attempting it never succeeds as Karen stab her foot into Catra's pelvis, her balance off center. Karen slows the pace of the match to her liking, getting to know the new six sided ring while whipping & chopping Catra in several of the corners. The third whip in, Karen also yanks at Catra's feline ear. Wanting to shove as much salt into Catra's wounds as she can to make her irate & unfocused. The Grimm Queen backed to the center of the ring, allowing Catra to charge blindly with fists swinging wildly. Sidestep, Catra rebounds but DROPPED with a Beauty Shot (Spinning Heel Kick)! She begins working on the head, chinlock applied. Its not too long or boring, enough to try and tilt Catra's skull out of line. Catra tries to free herself, throwing her claws up at Karen's eyes. The Grimm Queen dodges, a sly grin sensing Catra is helpless. Keeping the headlock applied, she tags Ulema back in, splaying Catra over her knee. Catra is defenseless to stop Ulema's ELBOW Crashing Into Her Collarbone With A Diving Elbow Drop To Re-Enter The Fight!

Ulema really begins to fire up, her strikes coming in ever quicker succession. Catra tries but fails continually to stop them, a fierce irish whip flings her over the top rope. A lone paw clings to the top rope, preventing a spill to the concrete floor. Catra tries getting back into the action, ramming Ulema in the gut through the ropes. But her go at a springboard forearm smash is batted down by a running lariat aimed at a high angle! Catra really is in a bad spot, Ulema gets a pin attempt but Catra kicks out. Karen orders Ulema to step out, to let the Grimm Queen finish the job early. Ulema pauses, but relents. Karen's tagged in, taking time to show off her um…assets to both the crowd & her opponents. She wants Catra to see what a 'real fine lady' looks like before she ends her with the Unprettier. But while locked in the killswitch, Catra prevents herself from being rolled over. After some struggling, she manages to configure her arms to SLIDE Karen into a sliding pin attempt!

Karen was quick to her feet, but Catra darted under her Beauty Shot, a diving tag to bring Adora back into the fight. Karen is quickly trying to tag out, but can't outrun the Princess of Power. Nor can she out muscle her as Karen's eyes go wide and white in fight before being plunged back into the center of the six-sided ring with a fierce belly-to-back suplex! To the dismay of Karen but to the delight of the crowd, the Grimm Queen is thrown several times to the mat in a variety of fierce whipping suplexes. A grin of confidence grows on Adora's face, Karen is visibly dazed by the suplexes. She gets a bridging pin off of a German, although Karen is able to get her shoulders off the mat before three.

Ulema pokes her head into the ring, causing the ref to motion her back. The ref being the ONLY person in the arena shocked to find Adora quickly covering her eyes and on a knee. Karen got free from a grapple through MULTIPLE thumb jabs. Karen throws Adora shoulders first into the turnbuckle of Team FCKU. Ulema is tagged back in, running in behind as Karen scoops Adora off the mat with a go at the spinebuster….dropped into a swinging neckbreaker from Ulema! It's a swift swing of momentum that Catra attempts to stop. But the official stops her from interfering, unintentionally giving Team FCKU more time to capitalize. Ulema forces Adora to stand with arms trapped in a full nelson, at the mercy of a Beauty Shot from Karen!

Ulema targets at Adora's back. Take the back out, Adora can't lift either FCKU into suplexes. Adora tries to break free but keeps getting pulled back in by Ulema. She falls victim to a full nelson backbreaker, among other spine targeting moves. She tries putting Adora up in a Argentine backbreaker, but the Princess of Power keeps shifting her body weight further and further to Ulema's right. Ulema keeps swerving to adjust, not realizing until the last moment she was veering into the corner of the Best Friends Squad! The crowd gasps in frustration as Adora was finger tips away from tagging in Catra….only to be samoan DROPPED back into the center of the six-sided ring! Ulema gets a pin attempt but no victory yet.

Karen once more senses Ulema's prey is feeble and wishes to be the one to claim the pinfall. She hollers for Ulema to tag in, making the Timestopper pause. "one second" Ulema calls, stepping back up upon the middle rope. Adora is dazed in the center of the ring. Ulema steps down, running and wishing the knock her opponent's skull in with a Temporal Freeze…..But ADORA Block Chops The Foot, Ulema Drops Jaw First On The Canvas! Its Adora's big break, she must get to Catra to have a chance in advancing in the tournament. Ulema is up first, staggering toward her own corner to tag out. But Karen yells at her to go after Adora! But by then its too late. Adora manages to jump up and DDT Ulema. Adora drags herself the last few feet to bring Catra into the match.

Catra re-enters by jumping from the top of the turnbuckle, dropkicking Ulema into the ropes on the opposite end of the ring! Karen tags herself in, hoping to counter one swift swing of momentum with another. But her slingshot into the ring is stopped in its tracks with a enzugiri to her skull. Catra has a bit of fun, getting back Karen's early digs with a knife edge chop before whipping her into the ropes. Catra hoped to hit another enzugiri but Karen clung to the ropes. Catra tries clotheslining her to the outside, but blocked with a shoot kick to the stomach. Karen gets in a stiff palm strike, but Catra retorts with her own. Both see-saw for control in the ring, but Catra is the only one left standing after a flurry of punches. Catra ties up Karen's arm, locking her into the Cat's Paw (Fujiwara Armbar). Ulema attempts to break it up, but Adora barnstorms into her with a spear! Karen has no choice but to tap out, yielding the win over to the Best Friends Squad.

"Zack" Ushers In His Era Of Carnage

In a black void, may or may not be a shuttered closet, the lens of the live feed are uncomfortably close to the eyes and nostrils of the NEW Carnage Championship. This black hoodie wearing man who has just about all of his fleshed concealed in bandages like he's a mummy is a new face to the FWM. But at Innuendo, he made a shocking & upsetting debut. For the first time, he gets a chance to speak.

"I….I got a lot problems….and the healthiest for me to EXERCISE them is a wrestling ring. I've stabbed people. I've gutted people. I've torn them open from mouth hole to a***hole! And when I got out of that f***ed up s***hole of a hospital, asylum, TORTURE LAB, I needed to find the quickest way to GET OFF….I found this place…..I found this title….but I found it was around the waist of a FRAUD! Christopher….House?….what type of name is that for a killer? Now ZACK, ZACK, ZACK… I Got A Sting With My Name! I like your rules, but you just can't cut it. So, if anyone wants to try and conduct some REAL CARNAGE, I'll Be In That Hexagon Next Week. I'll Put The Carnage Championship On The Line If That's What It Takes To Get Someone To Tango Around Here!" Zack declares, a short but unnerving promo setting the tempo for things to come in the unsanctioned Carnage Division.

Jo Nason vs. Graydon Hatfield – Gold Rush Qualifier

The first of four 'Gold Rush' Qualifiers introduces the crowd to two brand new faces. Out first is a hometown boy named Graydon Hatfield. He was dressed in a black denim vest, dark green camo pants & black boots. His hair, a stringy blonde, is kept from getting into his eyes with a faded green bandana. White with green eyes. He's simple in appearance, and right now simple in goals. He's eager to launch himself toward a shot at the Heart of Wrestling Championship, as evidence as he jumps back and forth, fists quivering in anticipation for the arrival his opponent.

His adversary makes a impact before even appearing. While Graydon had entered to the sounds of Steve Earle, Mozart begins playing throughout the Courage Dome. After a few moments of what may just be the first classical music some in the venue have heard, A tall brown skinned man steps calmly toward the six-sided ring. If it weren't for his shiny black boots and pants, you'd think he'd be ready to go to work in the ER with his spotless plastic green smock and rubber gloves. This…Is Doctor Jo Nason, and he's looking to dissect Graydon before sweeping past his remains to the ladder match.

The opening bell yields the beginning of a clash of opposites. Graydon is headstrong and eager to barnstorm over his first opponent. Jo feels to be in a completely different ring, where time bends to his will. He gets peppered in the first few minutes by several of Graydon's quick offense. But once realizing the greenhorn has revealed all his tricks at the gate, Jo begins picking his targets. Earlier in the match, Jo got bumped to the outside and was on the bad end of a crossbody. But in the later stages of the fight, Jo manages to catch Graydon out of thin air….and HURLS him like a dart head first against the side of one of the shipping container balconies! Graydon is dazed from here on out, defenseless to powerful bear claws that stretch apart his trapezius, among other muscles. Graydon may be the hometown kid, but he's going to need a lot more in his arsenal in order to swim with the rest of the roster. Jo at last puts Graydon out of his misery with a Double Knee Gutbuster for the win!

But Jo wasn't really here to win or loose. He hadn't finished dissecting Graydon. He snatches his arm being held up in victory by the official, taking that victorious palm and tearing into Graydon's neck with a Carotid Control Hold! He refuses to let go of the nerve pinch, Graydon wailing in agony. All of Heart & Soul's referee staff are forced to rush in and at last get some separation between Jo and his prey. Jo, who had worn his gloves throughout the entire match, tears them from his hands and chucks them to the floor. His work here was done…at least for tonight.

Fallen Angels vs. Montreal's Finest – Semi-Finals – Soul Tag Team Championship Tournament

Its two unique friends versus sisterly bond. Both teams step into the CourageDome with similar length of experience individually. But the Bordeaux Sisters came into this semi-final match with far more years of knowing each others strengths and weaknesses. They got a second nature of tagging in and out that the Fallen Angels were only getting secured. They have a cohesive appearance, especially tonight. Both are donning matching black brassieres & Pants that are trimmed in pink. But where Remi & Maxine were known as a stellar tag team, the general public still didn't have much way of differentiating themselves aside from their looks. Shayne Daniels brash nature & Ivory Atkinson's calmer thinking made each of the Angels a lethal weapon on their own. Putting them together, there was no telling what could happen to you in the ring.

Ivory & Remi start off the contest. But it quickly becomes a messy situation as Remi & Maxine hope to neutralize Ivory early. Shayne won't have any of it and barges her way into the ring, firing away at Remi. Referee Gallatin tries usher Shayne out, but not before Maxine begins beating her back with stiff punches. They both spill to the outside where they brawl into a stalemate, limping back to their respective corners. The chaos did allow Ivory to take control for a minute. Remi gets her neck twisted and drilled to the mat by a Flying Neckbreaker that gets a 2 count. No dice, Ivory tags a eager Shayne in the ring.

Though Shayne gets some stiff punches in, she gets reversed into the receiving end of a Irish Whip into the ropes. A rebound is stunted with a POWERFUL Roundhouse Kick. Shayne wasn't knocked down, but she was visibly dazed for a instant. Remi throws Shayne into the Bordeaux's corner of the six-sided ring with a fierce releasing german suplex. Maxine's tagged in, Remi ties Shayne's arms up to make her defenseless to one of Maxine's fierce Meat Hook Lariats! Ivory tries to step in to help but given a glare of warning from Referee Gallatin. But Shayne's still got some stamina left. She manages to block Maxine's offense and swings her viciously into one of the buckle pads with a Reverse STO. Remi runs to the aid of her sister as Shayne started stomping a mudhole out of Maxine, shoving her arms over the top rope to get some separation. Shayne GRABS Remi under the arms, bring her to the mat inside the ring with a FIERCE hiptoss! Shayne smirks and shakes her head at Remi, looking ready to pound her into the canvas.

But Maxine's recovered from the stomps and fists, sneakily drilling a punch into the backside of Shayne's knee! Shayne's trapped, Remi's back to her feet and CHOPS at the Fallen Angel's chest. Maxine Curls Her Fingers In And Around Shayne's Shoulder Blades! Shayne Drops TO Her Knees, Referee Gallatin Tries To Gain Some Order. Only Chaos Can Cancel Chaos Out, As Ivory JUMPS In With A Diving Dropkick To Maxine's Shoulder! Shayne starts frantically crawling out of the epicenter for the hexagon, Remi yanks Ivory off of Maxine. Ivory brings Remi to the mat with a swinging neckbraker, and APPLIES a figure four! But as stellar & painful as it is, Maxine lunges at a retreating Shayne and locks her into another figure four! Rival Figure Fours, Maxine Got The Legal One! Ivory Unleashes Hers And Collapses Over Her Friends Tangled Up Legs, Trying To Untie Them. Maxine Looses Her Grip And Gives Her Sister One Big Yank Of The Arm, An Express Way Of Getting Her Back To Their Respective Corner. Ivory is trying to pull Shayne back to the Fallen Angels piece of the hexagon, but Maxine rips Ivory off her feet with another fierce Meat Hook clothesline.

Ivory is tossed between the ropes and out of sight for Maxine, who turns her attention to Shayne. The Fallen Angel is hoisted up and DROPPED with a Maxi Driver (Sheerdrop Falcon Arrow), pin is made…But Shayne Kicks Out! The crowd pops in shock, it all looked as if the Fallen Angels were done for. Maxine goes for it again, but on a much…higher…scale. She works Shayne up on top of one of the ring posts. Maxine's Poised To Do The Maxi Driver Off The Top! But the setup took too long, Shayne had enough time to recharge her batteries. She delivers a FIRECE headbutt to Maxine who tumbles to the canvas. Shayne's all alone. Everyone is down but her…

BEST

MOONSAULT

EVER!

Shayne Sticks The Landing, She Hooks The Leg, She Got Maxine Covered…

But Maxine's Foot Skirts Across The Nearest Bottom Rope!

Shayne Slams A Fist To The Canvas, Frustrated. But she knows she can't doubt the BME, she got to keep the momentum going. She hurries to her corner and tags Ivory back in. Maxine hasn't moved much, Ivory goes to grab her…It's a PLOY, A Roll-up. Ivory kicks out. A Thumb To The Eye gives Maxine the window she needs to tag Remi in. Remi tries racing in with a forearm smash but Ivory blocks it. They have a spat, quick succession of offense, but Ivory comes out on top. Ivory gets a few jabs in to prepare for the Flux Capacitor. But when she casts Remi on the top turnbuckle, a avalanche quickly drops down on a leaping back elbow. Remi whips Ivory hard into the corner. Into The Angels corner. Shayne TAGS herself in, Ivory had no say in the matter. But it saves Ivory from a body splash as Remi runs into a enzugiri from Shayne! Shayne was firing on all cylinders, but she knew she didn't have much more fuel to go on. After a Sidewalk Slam, she underhook both arms and attempted to put Remi down with Angel's Wing. But Remi kept her feet planted at all costs. She begins twisting around Shayne, curling up the arms…then falls back first, catching Shayne's head in a vice! The Sol Naciente applied! Maxine bolts in and hits her High Running Knee to knock out Shayne! Remi rolls on top of the Fallen Angel for all three seconds. Montreal's Finest are going to the finals and got a 50% now of becoming the first Soul Tag Team Champions.

Adam Price Interview

"At This Time, Welcome Into The CourageDome The Heart Of Wrestling World Champion…" Ai announces, now standing down in the middle of the six-sided ring. "….Adam Price!"

["I Am Flesh & I Am Bone"]

["Rise Up, Ting, Ting, Like Glitter & Gold"]

["I've Got Fire In My Soul"]

["Rise Up, Ting Ting, Like Glitter And"]

At the cue of "Glitter & Gold" by Barns Courtney, the lights in the building go to gold. Though the music is new, it doesn't change the reaction of the champion that is about to walk his way into the domain he shall rule over for the very first time. Through the glitz of the square of spotlights in the aft of the left entryway, the silhouette of the victor from the main event of Innuendo comes into view.

Adam Price sticks out like a sour thumb in this new, grungy environment. Especially with his custom navy blue suit and matching tie. The elegant Heart of Wrestling belt is wrapped around his waist. His face is stoic, a bit bitter. He raises his arms up seeking approval but get only boos. He enters the six sided ring as his anthem fades, Ai stepping up to the champions side as both face toward the hard camera.

"Adam, congratulations are of course in order for your tough win over Johnny Alvarez last November. We've since all been chomping at the bit to know when you'll be defending the belt next?" Ai asked.

"Ai, being champion is the biggest honor you can achieve in a wrestling ring. When I won this belt last June it should have been a dream come true." Adam starts off with, sounding genuinely humble. "You hear stories of wrestling champions limousine riding, you hear fables of the big pay days champions can live off of, you hear of the big venues they sell out, you watch in awe of their epic title defenses….But I Have Yet To Be Gifted The Fruits Of My Labor, Have I Ai!?"

Adam's passiveness turns into wicked outrage on a dime, only being chided more by the crowd.

"The Only Reason My Match With Johnny Was So Great Was Because I Pulled His Fat A** Across The Finish Line! My Paystub Shows Way More Zeroes, Indeed, But Do You Know How Hard It Is To Keep This Suit Prestine In A Crap Heap Like This Building? Do You Ai?"

"...well, bleach does it for my vest normally." Ai replies, trying to literally save face with a smile.

"Bleach should be drained down everyone's mouths here tonight." Adam deadpans, garnering in reacting heat from the audience packed into the shipping container balconies.

"I wanted to take my ride in the limo but they tell me I can't because of the steep grade and tight corners to get out here….here….Where The Hell Is 'Here', Anyways?! This Isn't Madison Square Garden!" Adam shouts. "This isn't even f'n New York! This is bum-f'n-nowhere, Redneck, USA!"

For once the crowd popped, not being insulted but rather taking pride in being labeled rednecks.

"And how am I suppose to be able to defend my championship when there's no wrestling ring? What Do You Call This, Ai?!" Adam asks, his hand gesturing to one of the six set of ropes that make up the unique ring Heart & Soul has adopted.

"I believe it's pronounced...hexagon, Adam." Ai timidly corrects the champion.

"I know what it's called. But I don't know why it's a ring!" Adam snaps back.

"BUT…..as the Heart Of Wrestling Champion, I'm a better man than anyone else in this company. I'm willing to put that all behind me….IF I am given my 'Thank You'!" Adam requests.

Of course, after that rant that was shot right at the paying audience, Adam got no such consolation. Boos filled the CourageDome, drowning Adam's smug smirk with a frustrated glare.

"Adam, a 'thank you' after insulting the ones you want rewarded by ain't going to happen I fear." Ai claimed.

"Who said I wanted to be rewarded by these rednecks?" Adam asks. "No, no, forget them. I'm not THEIR champion. And I'm not YOUR champion either, Ai. I Am Only THE Champion In Heart & Soul Wrestling. That Is A Fact Nobody Will Change...I Want That Thank You To Come From Management's Lips."

The crowd seemed to go from angry to just frustrated now, sighing into a eye roll.

"Varrick Is Fine, Nausicaa Is Preferred. I Want Them To Thank Me For Being Wiling To Stand Here And Remain Their Champion Through ALL Of The Growing Pains This Company Suffered Last Year. Most Would Have Dropped This Belt But...Again...In A Better Man."

"If your so miserable being champion, then why don't you drop it to someone more up to task?" Ai asks, the lack of hesitation catching Adam off guard and popping the crowd.

"DROP THE BELT! DROP THE BELT! DROP THE BELT!" The crowd begins chanting.

"You Crazy Rednecks, There's Nobody In This Company That Is A Better Man Than Me! Nobody Can Come In Here And Wrestle The Title Out Of My Hands!" Adam declares, full of anger now that a mere commentator would suggest he'd 'drop' it.

"Alright, Ai, Name me someone in this company who could take the title from me? Come on, I'm all ears. Another match means a big pay day for me."

"...well, there's Bolin." Ai claims.

"Beat him, night one." Adam quips.

"Vash The Stampede." Ai enters.

"Beat him to earn this." Adam reminds with disinterest, gesturing toward his championship.

"...Chris House?..." Ai suggests, this one getting a large pop from the audience.

"Gesundheit." Adam wishes in passing, as if Ai had sneezed rather than suggest. Ai is left standing bewildered.

"You see, nobody. There's Nobody To Drop This Championship To-"...

["REAL ROCK N ROLL!"]

Adam & Ai both turn their heads toward the two entry portals that open into the CourageDome. Each side are being filled with flashes of red, but only one has fog building up. Adam can't think of anyone on the roster whose got "Real Rock N Rolla" by Yonosuke Kitamura as their anthem Heart & Soul. The crowd are rather quiet, mainly out of confusion…

As they very quickly break out into applause when a 5'11'' Hispanic man decked out in all sort of merchandise promoting himself emerges from the red tinted fog with a open smile of joy & confidence. With a black ball cup reading "Feel My Heat" in bold crimson. He pauses, briefly admiring the six-sided ring, something he's never gotten the chance to step into. At least, not in the FWM. He enters the domain of the Top Bill, with a microphone in hand. His happiness, though, fades into grit as he stands toe-to-toe with a unimpressed Heart Of Wrestling Champion.

"….Ever since I first learned what went down in a squared circle, I wanted to be a world champion. Like mi hermano, Like mi papa, like mi abuelo….I've been in many a company, I've challenged many a time, and though I have yet to win the big gold belt at the end of the day, I walked away with a little more respect for what it means to hold a championship like the Heart of Wrestling Championship…but in my travels, I have NEVER meant someone undeserving to hold a championship. Vain, egotistical, sadistic, oh yeah, I've encountered all kinds of villainy….but YOU are the first I've met whose UNDESERVING of gold!" The new arrival declares.

"Happy to disappoint Señor Generico….No wait, I've seen you before. I've seen you a bunch of times on syndication….but for the life of me, your name…..just not coming up." Adam snaps a finger at intentionally drawing a blank.

"My Name Is Jesse Alvarez, The Latino Kid Bay-Bay!" Jesse announces, breaking out of his stern talking to for some fanfare. He shows he's got a bit of a goofy side with arms splayed out briefly for the ovation.

"And I've Come To Relieve You Of That Weight, Bitch." The Latino Kid claims, to a standing ovation from all within the Courage Dome.

Jesse steps up to be toe-to-toe, eye-to-eye with the Heart of Wrestling Champion. Both men are smiling, but for wildly different reasons. Jesse senses the energy building in the arena, as the crowd is cheering at the idea of Jesse being the champion. But as for Adam….

He scoffs, shakes his head and SHOVES through Jesse's shoulder to exit the six-sided ring. Boos ring out within the Courage Dome, reverberating off of all the metal surrounding the ring. Adam begins heading back toward the entry portal, where Ai is standing by.

"You're Not Going To Respond?" She asks, keeping pace with the Heart of Wrestling Champion.

Adam at last pauses, taking one glance over his shoulder back toward the six-sided ring. He can see the Latino Kid standing tall in one of the corners. His hand motions for Adam to come back in and fight.

"I'm not fighting a dark match." Adam quips, a insult that makes some in the crowd echo their over-the-top awe. The champion disappears into the back, Jesse takes it in stride. He throws himself back into a buckle, portraying the most dramatic fake faint anyone saw. But he quickly straightens himself out, batting a hand toward the hard camera and visibly calling Adam a coward. Jesse's music kicks back in as he returns to the top of another buckle, doing a bit of a dance and soaking in the crowd admiration.

"Its appears what's next for Adam is a bit of Latino Heat, Doug!" Ai declares, this over the PA system in the building.

"That Remains To Be Seen." Critic grumbles back, although only the home audience can hear.

Podcast Interviews The Sophisticated Beauty

Backstage, we're greeted by the newest member of Heart & Soul's communications team. A young eager kid with a long shotgun microphone. Its Podcast standing in front of the trio who are the whom of the first Soul Of Wrestling Champion.

"Hey, Hi, Hello AMC, Its Podcast Here!" He says in quick succession, a bit of nerves being on tv for the first time. Gives a quick shake of his hand to the home viewing audience. "Just a few minutes we will be crowning the very first Soul Of Wrestling Tag Team Champions. But everyone in Heart & Soul, myself included, want to know which team you're gunning for Selena."

Selena, far from dressed to compete but looking as elegant as a champion could, seemed agitated by the question. Sweet Diva were standing right behind her, Elena covering her face a bit of shame with a facepalm. Thinking of the Tag Team Championship right now brings thoughts to the upset of Year 1 on the pre-show of Innuendo. At last, Selena spoke.

"If this was a perfect world, Sakura & Elena would be getting ready to head out and bring those belts to the Sophisticated Beauty….but…." Selena says, gritting her teeth and swallowing the fact that won't be happening. "Flukes are bound to happen. I Don't Like Them!...but flukes are bound to happen. So…you won't us to cheer on flukes like Montreal's Finest? Or do you want us to pump our fists for the two who fart rainbows? Those two, mind you STRUGGLED to defeat the Maidens whom….i don't know, how many times have you beaten them?"

Selena turns back to her two friends as Elena & Selena look at each other, trying to think of a astronomical number.

"They need to make a new number to cover our record." Elena claims.

"So congratulations, Remi & Maxine. You've tripped upwards, defied gravity, and get to wrestle Catra & Adora. Don't upset us again. Because the Sophisticated Beauty….we like our sweets. Having the chance of Sweet Diva Winning The Soul Tag Championships By Defeating Montreal's Finest….there's no sweeter revenge then that." Selena declares with a smirk.

"….So, Heard It Here Folks. Sophisticated Beauty Are Cheering On Montreal's Finest!" Podcast declares. Selena was visibly not thrilled that that oversimplification but…she wasn't going to argue. She had more things to concern herself with, now being Soul Of Wrestling Champion.

Booker DeWitt vs Atticus Brown- Gold Rush Qualifier

Booker DeWitt made his Heart & Soul debut on this premiere episode of Grit. His quiet but respected career prior to entering the six-sided ring had earned himself a chance to qualify for the Gold Rush Ladder Match. Atticus felt insulted. He'd been here for a full year and competed in several matches, and yet HE had to defeat a newcomer just to get a chance at earning a world title match? His Vinyl King gimmick was cranked to a 11. He snatched position of the microphone from Not-Bruce Campbell, and began berating the crowd while Booker stood quietly in the corner. He cusses out the fans for spending all last year booing Atticus, whom he refers to himself as a 'kind, gentle, earth-lovin soul'…but will welcome a 'damn Pinkerton'. He appeals to the old school mining heritage of the region the CourageDome sets in, 'What Would Your Fathers & Grandfathers Think Of You! Cheering On A Damn Pinkerton!" Maybe if Atticus shut his mouth and get to fighting, maybe the crowd would give him a fair shot. Booker was a catalyst of the crowd. He looked irritated but still focus. "You Done?"

The crowd are anxious to get what they paid for, wrestling. Booker's first steps in a Heart & Soul ring sure show he will deliver. He wants to swiftly cut Atticus down with lariats & hiptosses. Atticus appears to be a coward, constantly ducking in the opening paces of the match. When Booker does get a hold of the loud mouth, the crowd rejoices in seeing him be silenced with a Exploder Suplex into one of the turnbuckles! Only Isla, Atticus's beloved, saves him from very destruction at this time. Pulling the Vinyl King out of the ring. Booker stands dead center of the hex, waiting patiently for Atticus to return. If this was just a regular match, Atticus may be considering dipping away and taking the count out…but he wants that Heat of Wrestling Championship. And after awaiting as long as he can, he slides back in to resume the fight.

Booker keeps up the powerful spinebusters and armdrags, but is having to go after Atticus more and more to hit these impactful moves. But on the fringes of the six-sided ring, Atticus can use the ropes to his advantage. Getting leverages on headlock, using the middle & top ropes as a springboard for all kinds of drilling moves into the canvas. Atticus starts making headway, clearly centering upon Booker's head. He's clearly softening Booker up for the Reality Check. But Booker manages to duck under the attempt, trying to grapevine a leg and throw Atticus back into a bridging german. Atticus kicks frantically, a few shots of his heel catching Booker's knees. He unbound himself but keeps control of one of Booker's arm, crossing them to throw Booker down with a Straight Jacket Neckbreaker. Booker Kicks Out!

Atticus switches briefly to trying to make Booker submit. But the rough life Booker has lived makes the Mexican Surfboard feel like just another day on the job. He manages to break free, but soon finds himself contending with more than just Atticus. Ref is distracted, Isla Woods hops up on the rope and shouts at him. She's picking up where Atticus left off their 'Hipster Monologue'. Booker doesn't see Atticus Running High Knee that pancakes Booker in the corner! A fierce Irish Whip to the other side of the ring, Atticus forces the False Shepard to the top of one of the six ring posts. He's looking to SUPERPLEX him!...But Booker blocks. He got some life still and is fighting like it depends upon it. Atticus tries to bring Booker down in a hurry with a frankensteiner…But Booker Curls His Feet Around The Ropes! He's Planted Up There, And Now Has Atticus Sat On His Shoulders…

Dewitt Devastation (Spinning Sitout Powerbomb)! Booker immediately rolls Atticus's legs over his chest for the 3 count! Booker DeWitt wins his first match in Heart & Soul. He satisfies the CourageDome by silencing Atticus & got a chance to win a shot at the Heart of Wrestling Championship!

Podcast Interviews The Armed Vanguards

"Hey guys, I'm at it again tonight." Podcast welcomes back the home crowd. He was not standing in a different part of the backstage area, now standing in between two military veterans that dwarfed him.

"Whoa, you guys are huge." Podcast makes a offhanded comment. "But, anyways, we're just moments away from crowning the first ever Soul Tag Team Champions. Alex, Frank, being as you're the Heart Tag Team Champions, who do you think is going to win?"

"Well to be honest, we've been less focus on the tournament and more focus on running through every scenario that could jeopardize our reign. We're studying ever tape that's out there on every team we have the most probable AND most improbable chance of challenging us." Alex Mason states.

"And be that a bit of advice to whomever leaves tonight with those Soul belts." Frank Woods takes over. "Whoever wins this tonight strategized better than the one that looses. Now, do I know what goes on in the brain of two French Canadians? How the hell can I, they think f'n French! But their quick destruction of Sweet Diva was no fluke. I don't know much on Catra & Adora, but they managed to defeat two of the founders of this promotion. Plus…Catra gets in a bind, she can literally claw her way to safety. They got that going for them. And BOTH of them have been in combat situations, they got that Horde military career going for them. Both Force Captains, Both Are Leaders, Both Know How To Plot Out The Most Best Avenue To Victory."

"Before I Run To The Monitors, just wanted you two to know you won't be waiting much longer for a challenger. Next week on Grit, there's a fatal four way set to determine the number contenders for the Heart Tag Championship." Podcast announces.

"We'll be watching closely." Mason claims, ending the segment.

Best Friends Squad vs. Montreal's Finest – Soul Tag Team Championship

The first ever main event for Grit as arrived. It's a match that's been nearly 6 months in building. The tournament to crowd the promotion's first female tag team champions. Montreal's Finest were now the clear veterans when juxtapose to their opponents. They were sisters, they were a long standing tag team. Yet, for all the places they had performed of the years there was barely a mention. They had little to no achievements to talk about outside of their hometown of Montreal. Perhaps the public would have remembered them more had it not been for constant name changes. They were absolutely determined to walk out of the Courage Dome tonight, they felt DESTINED to become the first Soul Tag Team Champions.

Adora & Catra walked out for the second time tonight, garnering a louder ovation. They had already established a solid connection with most in the audience. They were colorful heroes; Adora is a good-hearted charismatic leader, Catra a devious but chaotically good force. But being this just their fourth tag team match together, their were still heavy doubts they could truly walk out of the hexagon with the gold. But they were going to give it their all to do just that.

But for a match that should have been recorded in everyone's mind in its entirety, it was how it ended that would forever been remembered.

"Catra, Setting Up…" Ai describes, the fatigued Remi being hurdled into the ropes.

"No, She Stopped Herself." Critic observes, Remi putting up a knee to the rope. Catra still pushes hard, the knee slipping between. Remi's straddled on the top of the northeastern ropes, but a punch decks near to Catra's eye. She's holding her head, staggering back as Referee Macy Tarr steps in…

Remi looks back, making the short hike to the corner pad, looking again

AND REVERSE DIVING SENTON'S ON TOP OF CATRA & TARR!

"No, Poor Macy, Caught In The Crossfire!" Ai exclaims.

"That's Her Fault For Getting To Look!" Critic claims. Bordeaux, Catra in a pile, the referee sandwiched between. Adora eyes are wide with worry. She knows Catra is wearing thin, that Remi is also wearing thin, that Maxine isn't far behind from keeling. Just the slightest roll over could end this and it might now go undocumented. She looks to bolt into the ring…

BUT IS SWEPT OFF THE APRON, JAW CRASHING INTO THE EDGE OF THE CANVAS!

"Wait, What The-?" Ai shouts in confusion, hard camera trying to nudge to the side to find where Adora had gone to, transitioning to the nearest ground shot…

..

As Someone In A Plain Black Hoodie Is Seen Teeing Away At The Princess Of Power's Skull!

"What?...Who!?...GET SECURITY!" Ai exclaims.

"I Know Someone In Here's Packing, Now's The Time To Be A Big Damn Hero!" Critic adds.

"Wait…Wait, THAT'S ASHLEY BLADE!" Ai exclaims.

Adora Is Yanked Up To A Stance, Trashed Violently In The Back Of The Head Against The Edge Of The Metal Shipping Container Balcony! The Fans Within The Makeshift Box Jump Back, Adora Slouching Into A Fog As Ashley Blade, The Smark Killer, Gleefully Looks Down And Begins Mouthing Off.

But Something Is Unfolding Back In The Ring, As A Familiar Face Slides Into The Ring. IT'S THE JUDAS AVATAR, KORRA!

"Korra, KORRA Is Here Too! I Didn't Think She Was Sticking Around After Pyrrha Defeated Her!" Critic exclaims.

"What The Hel!?" Ai cries out.

"Go Ask Her, She's Right There." Critic yells, throwing his hands up.

"WE'RE UNDER ASSAULT, STOP HER MAX!" Ai pleads to Maxine, the only one still standing in the center of the CourageDome…

Korra grasps Catra head in a vise of their hands…

Before HANDING CATRA OVER TO MAXINE!

"NO!...NO, NO, NO!" Ai begins pressing the panic button, the crowd exploding in shock as Maxine willingly accepts Catra from the Judas Avatar, who helps Remi to her feet…

REMI LOCKS ON THE SOL NACIENTE ONTO CATRA, WHOSE FEET KICK AND SCRAPE IN TERROR…

AS MAXINE HITS THE KNEE STRIKE TO THE LOCKED HEAD…

….

WITH KORRA HITTING THEIR OWN KNEE STRIKE TO CATRA IMMEDIATELY AFTER!

"CATRA GOT DOUBLE TAPPED!" Critic exclaims. "HOLD FAST!"

ASHLEY SLIDES IN, GETTING HER OWN KNEE STRIKE IN!

"Painful Slumber, Three In A Row, No, Not Like This!" Ai pleads to Montreal's Finest. The Masked Assailant Shaking Referee Tarr To Enough Consciousness To Be Able To Make A Count…

1…

2…

3!

"It Will Be That Way, Ai!" Critic declares. "It Shall Be That Way!"

The crowd screams with confusion. Some dearly wanted Montreal's Finest to win, there were those that were banking on Catra & Adora. All were still on a high of shock knowing they'd just witnessed history. But as the shock wore off, boos were breaking out over the moment forever going down in the record books with asterisks. Remi & Maxine jumped to their knees, sisters hugging in delight. They seemed oblivious now to the atrocity that gave them this moment. The one who'd cut the shortcut to their success wasn't anywhere to be found in the hexagon.

No, Korra had made a bee-line for the title belts being guarded by Holo & the time keepers. The harvest deity begrudgingly relinquished the belts over. She really had no choice as the masked assailant showed sings of yanking them free either way. In they went, with both titles in hand. Gifting each Bordeaux with their own belt. Referee Tarr was just now putting the pieces together over what had happened, and before she could protest Korra was standing in between the Bordeaux sisters. She raises a arm from either victor, Montreal's Finest raising their newly won prizes.

"…your winners of the match and….NEW….Soul of Wrestling Tag Team Champions….Montreal's Finest!" Holo announces.

"Ashley Hasn't Stopped! She Adora's Skull In, Now She's Going After Catra!" Ai exclaims.

"They're ALL Stomping On Catra!" Critic points out. All four standing women are driving their heels into poor Catra! Adora's most likely unconscious over in one of the stands.

"These Four Are Clearly In Allegiance!" Ai shouts. "Why? What Has Come Over Montreal's Finest!? What Does Ashley Have To Do With Any Of This!? What Has Korra Orchestrated!"

"She's Orchestrated The Crowning Of Our First Soul Tag Champs!" Critic declares.

"In 2D, Yeah, But In 3D-…" Ai trails off worrying of the possibilities. But there's more of a commotion, as (face) wrestlers are POURING out of BOTH locker rooms! Bow & Glimmer, the other half of the Best Friends Squad, are in the lead!

"Here Come Their Best Friends! I See Millicent Coming In Fast Too!" Ai exclaims.

"Heavy Artillery, That'll Pound Korra!" Critic announces.

Bow & Glimmer hurriedly jump on the ring apron…

BUT GET SWEPT OFF THEIR FEET, TRIPPED DOWN TO THE HARD FLOOR BY THE EMERALD AMAZON!

"WAIT, WHAT!" Ai shouts, now all four members of the Best Friend Squad flat on their back. The behemoth Irish lass answers with action! She HURLS Bow Shoulder First Into The Nearest Ring Post. A Groggy Glimmer Then Gets Thrown Like A Dart AT The Hip! Her Head Collides Into The Side Of One Of The Homemade Balconies With A Cringe Inducing Smash Of Metal!

"No, No, No! She's With Them Too!?" Ai cries out.

"Now Korra Got Some Heavy Artillery!" Critic declares.

Millicent takes her time stepping into the ring, just as Ashley comes back in. She'd fished out Adora from the outside and handed her to her newly revealed partner in crime. She lifts up the Princess Of Power and SLAMS her into the mat with a impactful Dublin Watchtower (Inverted Full Nelson Into A Sit-out Powerbomb), Right On Top Of The Prone Catra! She gets a slow round of applause from Korra, while boos (and some smarky cheers) ring out.

"Not The Dublin Watchtower! Adora & Catra Have Been Demolished! This Is Despicable!" Ai yells. "Remi & Maxine Could Have Won The Titles Themselves, They Didn't Need Any Of This! They've Just Soiled Their Good Name!"

"Who Cares About A Good Name When You Got The Gold, Ai!?" Critic asks.

"I Do! These Fans Do!" Ai claims.

"All I hear is static, girl." Critic replies.

But The Sight Of More Of The Locker Room Coming To The Ring Presses Korra To Motion The New Tag Team Champions Out! They Hurry Through The Ropes, As Ashitaka & The Miyazaki Maidens Scale Up The Hard Camera's Side Of The Hexagon. Many More Are Behind Them, Ensuring That This New Faction Is Outnumbered.

"Their Running Scared! We Got Half The Locker Room In The Hexagon! Things Have Turned In A Heartbeat!" Ai hollers as the faces take over the hexagon. Korra and her four new sisters in arms begin high-tailing it between the notch of two of the metal balconies. With no way of tracking them any further, the live feed cuts back to the ring as the mob of wrestlers and extra staff mingle about. Some checking on Catra & Adora, others still on high alert just in case a second ambush is in store.

"Folks, We Are Out Of Time. We Hope By Next Thursday By 8 PM, We'll Have SOME Answers As To What The Hell This New Team Of Korra's Means For Heart & Soul! See You Then On AMC!" Ai signs off, the copyright graphics appearing in the corner of the screen. Just moments before everything fades to black.
