Armed Vanguards vs. X-Dynamics- Heart of Wrestling Tag Team Championship
The third edition of Grit kicks off with a championship situation. X-Dynamics, the scrappy & enthusiastic duo of Van Culmer & Corey Dominic, have rushed to the ring. They are fueled by the roar of the crowd. The public has expectations when they see X-Dynamics on a marquee. They are high-flyers and sure to wow the socks of everyone in the stands. By their entrance alone, it appears Van & Corey are not going to disappoint. But reality sets in when the champions walk out into the CourageDome. Alex Mason & Frank Woods march into this title defense with a noticeable height advantage. The grizzled veterans instantly conjure images of war & the brutality that goes along with it. A smug grin from Woods after glancing at their challengers unsettles the atmosphere in the ring. The X-Dynamics may be two hyper high flyers. But The Armed Vanguards are going to have no qualms in tearing them apart to keep the championship.
The match starts instantly in the favor of the champions. Woods quickly overpowers Culmer, throwing him about before tagging Mason in. Some double team action drops Culmer, a double-team flapjack that spikes the young lad's jaw off the mat. But cornering him may not have been the wisest of moves for Mason to make. Culmer weaves between the ropes and pries himself from Mason's grasps. Culmer briefly stuns Mason with a roundhouse, clutching tightly to the ropes to keep from following to the floor. Culmer pounds Mason's head moments later by springboarding in with a spinning DDT. Culmer hopes to quickly deal a Shining Wizard, but Mason steps forward and pushes Culmer off target. They both spat, jockeying to gain an advantage over the other. Mason gets a pin attempt off a Spinning Side Slam but Culmer kicks out. He breaks free from Mason with a legsweeper, powering out of a choke hold. Culmer tags in Dominic, with hopes this quick change will catch Mason off guard. Although he softens him up with a atomic drop, Dominic is unable to take down the battle-hardened Mason. Dominic gets stunned by a stiff uppercut, then has his lower spin nearly pulverized by a impactful High-Angled Belly-To-Back Suplex. Dominic tries to be brave, attempting to force himself back up. He should have stayed down, as he's taken off his feet with a vicious clothesline.
Woods is brought back in, and the Vanguards vertical suplex Dominic's lower spin upon the top ring rope. Dominic's body rebounds back up, the Vanguards guide the poor man RIBS FIRST on the canvas. Woods makes a cover, but Culmer rushes in to make a save. Woods corners a justifiably terrified Culmer. Culmer attempts to escape but gets caught around the throat. He's grappled onto Woods' shoulders and buckle bombed! Dominic slowly starts coming to, heavily favoring his ribs and lower back. Woods is pissed, having wasted time he could have used for another pin attempt. He thinks Dominic is too dazed to avert the forthcoming Big Boot but jokes on Woods. Dominic dives for the boot on the ground and manages to drop toe hold the veteran. He hurriedly drops a quick leg drop over the back of Wood's shoulders. He hopes that'll keep his opponent subdued long enough for something off the top turnbuckle. But the unique ring they are competing in comes to bite Dominic. Mason sneaks down the apron from his corner to the extra post, pounding a fist into Dominic's injured back. The referee had taken their eyes away and toward Culmer staggering on the outside to his own corner, not seeing the interference. Woods pulls Dominic off the buckle and on his shoulders into a Argentine Back Rack that implodes into a Double Knee Gutbuster, the 115!
Dominic's face is knotted by the pangs in his back, But Woods tags Mason back into the action. They're looking to make a statement out of the poor man in the ring, a visually stunning finish. X-RAY is hit perfectly, the German Suplex/Neckbreaker combination. Both Vanguards make the pin, successfully retaining their tag team championships in dominating fashion. The rest of the men's tag team division….take notice.
Backstage Shenanigans
We find Shayne Daniels & Ivory Atkinson, seated at a small table in two folding chairs. They had been watching closely to the Heart Tag Team Championship match, cheering on their friends in the X-Dynamics. They were disappointed by the mauling they saw, Ivory especially.
"…..not going to lie, that wasn't pretty, Ives." Shayne at last said, turning her head away from the television off screen. But she's taken aback to find a camera pointing right at them. "Wait, whats-"
But she gets her answer when some up-tight cackles are heard. First off camera, but very quickly we see their source. None other then the full force of the Sophisticated Beauty, including the Soul of Wrestling Champion.
"Well…..we all had bets on how long Ivy's bow & company were going to survive…I bet 7 minutes to be safe….I lost." Selena said in a scoff, as she and Sakura were both handing 1 dollar bills to Elena. Ivory only replied with a cold stare.
"….oh, lighten up. At least take pride in this moment." Selena says.
"Pride?" Shayne asked, vocalizing for her quieter friend.
"Yeah, you two are far stronger then the X-Dynamics. At least I figured so, I only figured Ivory is with Van since he's the only thing she can pin."
Ivory just glared up at the table at Selena, fingers digging into the side of the table. All the right to be pissed, being bullied just from merely sitting and watching a match.
"Are you looking for a fight?" Shayne asked, slowly standing up. "This is the second week you've come up to use. Do you want a fight?"
"A fight? Of course not. What do I have to gain beating either of you?...now….Sakura & Elena here ARE in need of a fight. And you too would be easy picking for them to get back up in the rankings." Selena states.
"Well I know your friends have voices, they sold many a s***y pop title, what don't they just ask us?" Shayne questions. "No, wait, it's the only way that you get to listen to your own s***y voice. Because management here is decent enough here to keep you from bullying the fans every week."
"Management is scared to put me in the ring because they know nobody is on my level." Selena claims.
"Well…you're right on that. Nobody is as shallow as you." Ivory snaps back.
"Come on, Selena. Put that belt up and fight me." Shayne asks, stepping up to be face to face with the champion.
Selena scoffs, "In Your Dreams."
"Fight Me!" Shayne demands from Selena, only getting a smirk.
"Anyone Wanting TO Get To Me Must Prove Themselves First. You Two Fight Sweet Diva And Then Maybe I'll Consider!" Selena yells back.
"FIGHT ME!" Shayne shouts.
"GET OUT OF MY FACE!" Selena shoves Shayne back.
"You Butted In First Last Week!" Shayne yells, Ivory down jumping up and restraining her friends arms.
"Trios Match!" Ivory shouts.
"…what?" Shayne & Selena both asked, baffled.
"Three Of You…Three Of Us. No title on the line, but we get the pleasure of chucking you're a** at your henchwomen."
"Where you going to find a third woman?" Selena asked with a confident smirk.
"Yeah, How?" Shayne asked, more direly confused.
"Well….I got ideas!" Ivory claimed, although a weak response.
"…Alright, have it your way." Selena replied with a shrug. "Come on girls, we got a week of training."
The Sophisticated Beauty departed, the atmosphere easing. Although Shayne was still all riled up, grabbing her friend by the arms and (comically so) shaking her slightly for a answer.
"Trios Match? We're a tag team. We don't got a third woman. You got a third woman? How do you have a third woman?" Shayne began to rapidly fire questions at Ivory.
"I have a FEW ideas, in fact….Selena will think twice about mouthing off to us." Ivory claimed.
Pyrrha Nikos vs Helena Kay Nicholl
First time we are seeing Pyrrha on Grit. She comes off the heels of her victory over Korra at Innuendo. Now she is squaring off against Mistral royalty in the form of Helena Kay Nicholl. Helena tries to out-pace the Invincible Girl, a good strategy early on. Keeping away from Pyrrha's reach while also trying to tire her out. But reality hits Helena quickly when Pyrrha manages to catch ahold of her. It takes just a few powerful suplexes & the Burning Chest (springboard roundhouse kick). Cross Polarity puts Helena down for the count, Pyrrha secures a dominating win to the ovation of everyone in the crowd.
Cole Boone vs. Vash The Stampede
Vash the Stampede had been challenged just after his grueling attempt for the Carnage Championship last week. Who was this young man bold enough to ask for a match right after that chaos? A seemingly unimpressive young man by the name of Cole Boone. In terms of appearance there's nothing out of the ordinary, he wears a tattered black leather jacket with the different half of his name etched on either breast pocket. He's a man eager to make his name known, and defeating a legend in the ring is a ambitious debut.
The match starts off professionally with a handshake between the two men. This appears to be friendly competition. But as Vash bats away Cole's offense in the early moments, that young man grows more determined to defeat Vash by any means. Cole's target is the upper spinal column of the Humanoid Typhoon, for sure damaged by Zack last week. But as much as painful as Cole's Sitout Rear Mat Slam was, Vash has endured far more destruction over his life. He manages to persevere, and defeats Cole after the Angel Arm (Diving Discus Clothesline). Vash's arm is raised in victory, although he remains on his knees for some time.
Things had turned into a scrap toward the end of that match. But both sides kept their cool, and respect seemingly prevailed. The combatants both shook hands. However, Cole got on the microphone afterwards. He sang the praises of the Humanoid Typhoon, and asked if he'd be keen of give his brother some 'in-ring education' next week? Vash accepts.
Lucia Siycron vs. Lucy Arya-Hirano
We got the battle of the Luc's going on here. Lucy Arya-Hirano, daughter of famed UWE icon Charlie Arya, makes her Grit debut. She's loud, she's rambunctious, she's giddy for a fight. Her high-spirits win over a good of the crowd, but some of that is sucked away when the lights go out. The eerie yet awe-astounding entrance of the Last of the Siycrons receives a standing ovation once the music ends. Lucia is here to continue taking souls after failing to capture the Soul of Wrestling Championship.
On paper, Lucy is the one with the height & weight advantage. And in the early moments as the two tussle, it appears Lucy is the one that will outpower Lucia. But the truth is, Lucy rarely deadlifts her opponents. She's out to scramble their brains with kicks and more gusty blows. But even a fierce lariat doesn't keep Lucia down for long. She gives an unnatural head titlt, raising slowly but unimpeded after taking that blow. Lucy knows she'll have to throw everything she got, even taking it to the outside and use the metallic surroundings of the CourageDome to her advantage.
But this only feeds Lucia's strengths. She's able to turn what should be Lucy's playground into a nightmare. An attempt at a springboard stunner after running up the side of one of the balconies is caught by Lucia. The crowd pop seeing what appears to be a petite women almost easily suspending Lucy in mid-air….before dropping her back first on the unforgiving floor with a spin-out spinebuster! The momentum swings firmly into Lucia's court from them on. And nobody can blame Lucy. She tries to bring Lucia back down in the ring with a go at her Triangle Choke but can't get it fully tied on in time. Kiss & Torment heralds Lucia the win.
Gold Rush Ladder Match Promo
Coming back from commercial break, we find Renton Thurston is standing tall in the six-sided ring…quite literally. He's gotten out a large ladder and anchored it dead middle of the ring. He overlooks much of the arena, eye-level with the fans in the upper balconies. He got the ring to himself, and is the most striking sight currently in the building.
"Now This Is More Like It." Renton says with a satisfied smile. "Its Been Too Long Since I've Last Been In The Skies. It Takes Skill To Remain This High Up. Most Of You I Bet Never Have Even Been In A Plane. You Have Nowhere To Go…..now, don't take that as a insult. I never thought I'd go anywhere myself for the longest time. I was lucky that I was given a way out, and I took that opportunity by its wings and soared higher than ANY of you! ….When I signed on to Heart & Soul, it felt like falling from the sky. But I picked myself back up, and have been soaring back to the skies. I've gone through several of your heroes and plan to go through many more, its gotten me the spot in the ladder match next week. When I win, I go after the Heart of Wrestling Champion and when I get that in my hands, I will be above everyone one of you!"
As Renton wrapped up the first of what were for sure planned to be a series of long-winded declarations, a imposing figure appears out of one of the twin entry ways. Its Doctor Jo Nason, who shakes his head in amazed dismay. The mere sight of the near 7 foot tall behemoth sends chills down Renton's spine, quickly realizing the precarious position he's put himself in.
"H-Hey, This Is My Ring! Stay Back!" Renton yells.
"Ah, your amygdala clearly is working, that's good." He says calmy but frigidly, approaching the ring.
"And your brain clearly isn't functioning! Do You Not See Whose Up Here!" Renton exclaims, desperately hoping that the good doctor may respect the name of Thurston.
"Yes." Nason answers, now stepping into the six-sided ring. "….are you comfortable up there?"
"Until You Showed Up!" Renton cries out. "hey-HEY! Stay away from my ladder!"
"You are scared….what's funny is I haven't even done a thing to you." Nason replies. "…Do you have some sort of premonition of what's going to happen to you next week…..when your on top of this ladder…..and someone throws you to the floor…..breaking you're pelvis….or worse….severing your spinal column."
"….Y-Your Not Going To Scare Me! ….I-I Beat Vash The Stampede, I'm Going To Win The Ladder Match!" Renton declared, although Nason slightly pushing on Renton's ladder made him loose more confidence.
"oh….my mistake." Nason dryly replied, stepping back a ways from the ladder.
"Stop Teasing Him!" a young British voice calls out.
Alex Minazuki hurries out to the ringside area, a light smattering of applause follow. Dressed in his flashy Pretty Cure get-up, which clashes with the urban decay backdrop of the CourageDome. Nason just stares with intrigue.
"Renton, I'll Change Places With You Next Week Up At The Top!" Alex decrees.
"Oh, Thank You Ale-…" Renton caught himself from finishing that line, thinking it through…..Minazuki at top of ladder in a ladder match next week and not himself….yeah, the sarcasm is caught now. Now there are loud cheers for the Cure Phenomenal.
"….I Won't Make That Mistake Next Week, You Little B***!" Renton shouts down at Alex.
"If you go up there next week, it won't be Renton you'll have to throw off the top, I hope you are aware kid." Nason replies.
"Oh, I know. I got so many ways I can chop you down to size." Alex claims.
"Really?….I'd like to see a demonstration right now." Nason asks. "But you best be wise….you try one of your fancy kicks, I break your fibula. You try uppercutting me, a high chance every digit in your palm are fractured. And if you DARE try to splash down on top of me….you're frontal bone will shatter into so many pieces they'll need a microscope to find them all across the floor of this building."
Minazuki didn't have a response, though he stood is ground in silence.
"By All You Means, You Two Put On A Demonstration For Everyone Here Tonight. Because Next Week, Its Still Going To Be Me Up Here On The Ladder!" Renton shouts.
Renton continued to drone on and on about how he is the best, how he was winning the ladder match. But while he continued to ramble, he failed to pay attention on one more individual coming out into the CourageDome. Cheers rang out, as it was Booker Dewitt. But he had no words to speak like the other men. Nason & Minazuki both slowly peeled out of the ring, sensing danger. DeWitt scaled up the opposing edge of the ladder, Renton only realizing he was near when they were both locking eyes…

Booker Is Not Here To Talk, But To Make Swift Actions. He Decks Renton Square In The Nose, Thurston Tries To Climb Down. ANOTHER Strike, This Time He Jumps Off! Renton Begins To Raise Up The Ladder From Underneath Booker. DeWitt Jumps Safely, Landing On Both Feet Before Racing After Renton!
Outside the ring, Minazuki & Nason have become engaged in their 'demonstration'. Minazuki tries to take Nason down with kicks, but the Doctor catches hold of the foot. He pulls him in to a Mandible Claw, trying to pinch out his consciousness. Minazuki manages to partially break free by ramming him back into one of the ring posts. But he can't get free for long, ending up getting headbutted and dropping limp to the floor. Renton, in flight from Booker, runs right into the doctor. Renton backs away, begging not to be touched. But Nason turns his attack on Booker, who was just coming out to go after Renton. Booker & Jo through haymakers at one another, shoving back and forth….

And make a perfect landing pad for Minazuki, who JUMPS from one of the ring post, The Shiniest Shooting Star Press Ever Down Upon The Heavyweights In The Upcoming Ladder Match! Minazuki stands tall, but a glare from Renton reminds him of how many moving parts will be in Gold Rush Ladder Match.
Catra & Adora vs. Kyoshi Warriors
The Kyoshi Warriors, consisting of team leader Suki and still-adjusting Ty-Lee, make their Grit debut. They are eager to start collecting victories to get in quick contention for the Soul Tag Team Championship. But so to do their opponents tonight, if not more so. Catra & Adora had attempted to strike back after being robbed of a fair fight for the championship by the Pink Lotus last week. No blows were struck. They (mainly Adora) were hoping to build up some wins to get a legal shot at revenge. For both teams, they envision themselves one day challenging Maxine & Remi Bordeaux.
While this was a see-saw action, with both teams putting on a good showing, all would be quickly tainted. As Ty-Lee & Catra were vying to gain power over the other, Catra managed to shove Ty-Lee against the ropes. Next thing seen was Ty-Lee collapsing upon Catra, Millicent Breathnach had raced to ringside and jabbed the one-time acrobat with a impactful punch. The Referee called the match, but Millicent was just getting started. She stomped down repeatedly on the pile of the two downed wrestlers. Suki was the nearest, first to make contact with the Emerald Amazon. Millicent teetered slightly into the ropes from Suki's opening punches. Adora jumped in next and began furiously firing punches at Millicent's skull. But both could not match the brute strength the attacker possessed, grabbing BOTH by the neck in chokes! Adora wiggled free, Suki was laid out with a chokeslam.
Adora managed to stun Millicent with a hard punch, but her attempt to bring order to the ring is thwarted by Ashley Blade. She ties up with Adora, both begin exchanging lefts and rights. Adora was quickly looking worse for wear. Catra came honing up behind Ashley, attempting to yank her down into the Cat's Paw. But being on the canvas is the last place she wants to be when the Soul Tag Team Champions storm the six-sided ring. They pry Catra off their sister-in-arms, Maxine feeding Catra into Remi's Victoria Bridge suplex!
Bow & Glimmer are out for the rescue, dashing into the ring just as Catra's back crashes into the mat. They try to break past Montreal's Finest but are both swept off their feet by fierce clotheslines from Millicent. Ashely runs in to pick the pieces, stomping down on both of their faces. Ty-Lee & Suki are both back up, briefly going toe-to-toe with Montreal's Finest. But Millicent cuts in and turns it into 3 v 2. Made 4v2 by the inevitable arrival of the Judas Avatar. The sheer number of fists pounding at Suki & Ty-Lee's skulls leads to their implosion. Adora makes one final desperate lunge for Korra, but Ashley snags her up from behind. She spins her upside down, drilling her skull into the mat with the Broke Blade (Package Piledriver)!
The Pink Lotus are back on top after fleeing last week….but they quickly seem on the verge of flight once more. Coming out of the tunnel is Nausicaa, Princess of The Valley of The Wind & Acting COO Of Heart & Soul. She's flanked by San & Ashitaka. All three are quietly seething after yet another ambush had been sprung in the CourageDome by this quintet of destruction. But there's no weapon in the hand of the One Clad In Blue, only a microphone.
"We began producing this show here in this venue to avoid destructive forces like you five out there. Everyone here got different reasons for being in that ring but one thing they all agree to be here for is competition. We're just three weeks in and each week you've disrupted fair competition. If you want to keep your gang, Korra, you got to go through me. I will not let Heart & Soul de-evolve into gang warfare, not without a fair fight. Next week, I will await for you to face me. Just you, Korra. Nobody else. If I so much as see one other member of your Pink Lotus in this building next week, you are all permanently barred from Heart & Soul!"
Adam Price vs. Jesse Alvarez – Non-Title
The time has at last come. Although the championship is not in the line, this main event still has a big fight atmosphere. Gold is not on the line, but reputations are. This is the Latino Kid's first match inside Heart & Soul's six-sided ring. Though the crowd sings his praises for past encounters, he still is determined to defeat the Heart of Wrestling Champion and place himself at the top of the food chain in the company. He has everything to win. As for his opponent, tonight is due or die. Adam Price may be the Heart of Wrestling Champion, his legitimacy as champion has come into question since day one. He's defeat Vash The Stampede & Johnny Alvarez thus far in his reign, but many still can't picture this young guy from Massachusetts being the pinnacle of he company. Defeating one of the most popular names in fictional wrestling tonight would reverse much of that. But if he fails…If He Fails….his legacy may never be. Adam has everything to lose tonight.
There are shaky attempts at tie-ups in the opening seconds of this contest. Jesse & Adam are visibly evenly matched in strength, but the crowd gives the Latino Kids the advantage. Adam gets shoved into the corner, loosing the first battle for strength. Alvarez does a little jog, awaiting for Adam to meet back up with him in the center of the ring. How there's more vigor behind the tie-up. This time it ends up with Jesse being shoved into the corner. Followed quickly by a slap to the Latino Kid's face. Jesse keeps his cool, trying to be the good guy in this scenario. Adam is backed into the middle of the ring by the ref, the two can now go at it again.
Now they both are trying to throw the other down to the canvas. Its Adam who goes down first, a double underhook suplex. Jesse is on his usual roll, looking early for the Three Amigos. But Adam prevents that from happening, transitioning out and clubbing Jesse across the nose with his forearm. Adam's shots are dirty and vicious, scrapping to survive. But its enough to soften Jesse for a hangman's neckbreaker. Adam follows up by targeting the back, stretching Jesse's spine over the knee. Jesse tries to fight out of it, getting a foot up to try and stand. But gets pulled back in and neck twisted once more with a swinging neckbreaker.
Adam gets the first pinfall attempt, off of a inverted DDT. Jesse gets back into the fight by monkey flipping Adam onto his back, after jacking his jaw a few times with a few knee rises. Adam tries to recuperate on the outside, but gets no respite as Jesse crashes down upon him with a plancha. He tried to quickly follow up by rolling the Top Bill back in, then hoping to springboard over the ropes into the ring with a flying forearm smash. Adam ducks, Jesse rolls on impact. Just as he gets up to a kneel he's trapped down to the canvas by a low big boot aimed for the shoulder and neck. Adam pulls Jesse up, clasping both hands around his neck. But whatever he is trying is thwarted when Jesse ties both their feet up. They both drop to the canvas, Jesse attempts to lock on a figure-four. Adam pounds Jesse's skull with fists, he's dazed and unable to get the lock applied.
Adam tries for his own submission hold, sitting down and applying a camel clutch. Jesse has enough strength to use his legs to roll over on top of Adam, getting a pin attempt in the process. Jesse goes for some softening up of Adam, eventually whipping him in the ropes. But he's unable to catch him on the rebound with a roundhouse kick. Its Adam who stuns Jesse with a roundhouse, followed up by a pumphandle suplex. Jesse rolls to the outside, letting the momentum of impact guide him to the ring's edge. Adam hollers for Jesse to get back in, telling him he don't care how he wins, but Jesse will be the one seen as forfeiting.
Letting Jesse get back in on his own accord, while demonstrating confidence, also is not wise. Using the bulk of the count, Jesse had recovered and re-enters the match rejuvenated. He begins to run a wrestling clinic over the champion. Adam is brought down to the mat on two occasions with hurricanranas. The second time he ends up getting tied up into the Hybrid Theory, a new modified boston crab Alvarez is starting to employ in his arsenal. But Jesse should have been more careful where he locked the hold, as Adam was within one pull to the bottom rope to get the break.
Jesse again tries for the Three Amigos, but Adam claws his way out yet again. He holds on to Jesse's arm, kneeing him in both kidneys on separate goes. An over-the-shoulder arm drag lets the harsh canvas do further damage to Jesse's lower back. He then ties up the skull, pulling back on the neck to apply his version of a Front Chancery. Jesse tries breaking free but caught to far in. Adam is trying to elevate the Latino Kid for something dastardly. He struggles, but eventually does raise Jesse up for a vertical suplex! But Jesse stays alive, kicking out at 2!
Adam is closing up shop, it seems. He's softening up Jesse to make him Pay The Price. But underhooking him in preparation for the piledriver comes back to bite him, Jesse manages through brute strength to back body drop the Top Bill. Jesse is wincing, jaw make me out of whack after the various headlocks he's gone through tonight, but he's persevering. The Three Amigos are executed, each one appearing to knock Adam silly more than the last one. He tries to go up top for the elbow drop…but Adam rolls under the ropes, hanging over the apron. Jesse jumps down, pulling up Adam and trying to suplex him back in the ring. Adam hooks his arm around the ropes, however, preventing himself from being lifted. They both tussle, Jesse gets pulled out onto the apron. Adam is dazed by a superkick, teetering on collapse. He leans in to underhook Adam, pulling back…

Impresionante Finale (Underhook Suplex Into Cutter) On The Sharp Edge Of The Six-Sided Ring!
That Should Do It, Jesse Could Knock Off The Champion In His Heart & Soul Debut! Adam Is Down & Out…but its on the floor! And as the match is inching past the 20 minute mark, fatigue is setting him. Jesse's jaw and lower back are nagging him. He asses the damage to himself before going for Adam. He rolls in the Top Bill, but rather then immediately pin he goes for the top of one of the turnbuckle. He suspects Adam would faintly kick out, and needs to smash down open him to truly win this. He goes for the PLUNGE…

But Adam ROLLS Out Of Harms Way, Jesse's Ode To Latino Heat (Frog Splash) Hits Nothing But Canvas! The door is open for Adam, who stomps on Jesse's back a few times before throwing him on his shoulders. He executes Pay-The-Price (Over The Shoulder Piledriver), 1-2-3, Adam Price Defeats Jesse Alvarez!
It was a long battle, with both combatants on even footing for the entirety of the contest. Jesse had demonstrated his wide-ranged arsenal to the crowd in the CourageDome. It is interesting to think nearly a decade ago when Jesse first walked into the FWM he was the brash young man learning his way around the ropes, having moments of doubt throughout his career. Though he is still in the prime of the career, he definitely has come to be seen as a benchmark of incoming talent anywhere in the multiverse. He was Adam's benchmark to surpass tonight. At least he did so in-ring. Would there now be doubts of Adam's capabilities going forward?
As a sign of respect, Jesse took the championship from the referee. Wanting to hand it back to the fair winner of the contest. This was a non-title match, but the ramifications of Jesse winning could have opened up the opportunity in the coming weeks. For now, the reigns of Heart & Soul are in the hands of its inaugural Heart Of Wrestling Champion. Adam cracks a smirk, accepting his championship back with one hand….

AND PUNCHING JESSE WITH THE OTHER! One impactful punch, Jesse is left in Adam's shadow. The Top Bill is the only one that shall be standing tall in the CourageDome tonight. He walks away, not batting a eye back at the man he fell in a disgusting manner. Why would Adam care? He's got the one thing nobody else in this building got. The world championship.
