Heart & Soul Wrestling
Grit Episode 4
The Courage Dome
Kingwood, WV
The camera cranks back from one of several blocks of stainless steel with the title of the show blowtorched through. Sparks spew from the indentations left by the letters, as sparks cascade in front the double stacks of shipping containers modified into being balconies for the fans in attendance. The sparks bounce upon impact with the concrete floor.
Cut to see the entryways into the arena. Each one is outlined by a rectangle of metal trusses, holding lights within. They bookended the railway flatcar turned platform for the commentator position & hard camera. After a few close ups of the fans in the stands, we cut to the hard camera focusing upon our two commentators. Both stand with backs to the crowd & ring, facing at a angle to the viewfinder.
"Good Evening Everyone And Welcome To Another Thursday Night Here In The CourageDome! I'm Ai Tanabe Joined By The Nostalgia Critic. Tonight We Take Our First Steps Toward Back In Black, Coming To you Live On Pay-Per-View February 27th."
"4 Men Will Use There Strengths, There Wits, And Lack Of Sanity To Vie For The Right To Challenge For The Heart Of Wrestling Championship At The Pay-Per-View. Why Lack Of Sanity? These Crazy Sons Of B***es Are Partaking In A Ladder Match!" Critic exclaims. "Metal Will Bend, Muscle Will Tear, Brain Cells Shall Be Lost. But Only One Can Limb Away With The Contract For That Shot In Their Hand."
"Who You Got Winning?" Ai asks.
"You'll find out at the end of the match." Critic quipped. "Before we get to that, we're also going to see a six woman tag...Maybe! It Could Be 3 v 2. The Fallen Angels threw down the gauntlet, a decision of full bravado and know intelligence. They think they really can take on the Sophisticated Beauty? Former 2 time world tag team champions & the current Soul Of Wrestling Champion!? HA, Please!"
"They'll Find A Partner, I'm Sure Of It." Ai asserts.
Before either announcer can continue, however, the blast of metal instruments cuts into the audio system of the venue. Its immediately recognizable what song it is, whose theme is playing, what match is about to kick off.
"But Off The Top Of The Hour With A Match That'll Settle If Order Or Anarchy Will Reign In The Six Sided Ring." Ai declares.
["You Are Beautiful On The Inside"]
["You Are Innocence Personified"]
["And I Will Drag You Down And Sell You Out"]
["Run Away…"]
The camera fades to a hand-held view of the left entryway. The arena is becoming showered with pink & blue lights. Pink should normally be a color that perks up the mood in any building. But not when everyone knows who this anthem is ushering in. The silhouette of the individual can be seen in the haze of the artificial fog clogging the portal.
"Your Opening Contest For Grit Is Scheduled For One Fall With A 20 Minute Time Limit. Introducing First From The Southern Water Tribe; Now Residing In Republic City. She Is The Judas Avatar…This…Is….KORRA!" Not-Bruce Campbell announces.
["I Am Cold Like December Snow"]
["I Have Carved Out This Soul Made Of Snow"]
["And I Will Drag You Down And Sell You Out"]
["Embrace By The Darkness, I'm Losing The Light"]
["Encircled By Demons, I Fight"]
"There's the insecure b***." Critic grumbles. "The Avatar, my apologees."
"Fans have added 'Judas' to that moniker. Because she's turned her back against everything she should be standing for." Ai says.
They are of course talking about Korra, who stands briefly in the lime light in front of the entry way. Her upper ring attire is presently concealed by the black leather jacket she's grown to wear more and more frequently in her time in Heart & Soul Wrestling. As she walks toward the ring, we can see the rosy seal of the Pink Lotus embroidered on the back.
["What Have I Become!"]
["Now That I've Betrayed"]
["Everyone I've Ever Loved, I've Pushed Them All Away"]
["And I Become A Slave"]
["To The Judas In My Mind"]
["Is There Something Left Of Me To Save In The Wreckage Of My Life?"]
["My Life?"]
As Korra stands in the middle of the sixed sided ring, the volume of the show amplifies. 300 more voices add to the chorus.
"I'm Becom-I'm Becom-I'm Becoming! I'm Becom-I'm Becom-I'm Becoming!"
"Judas In, Judas In My Mind!"
"I'm Becom-I'm Becom-I'm Becoming! I'm Become-I'm Becom-I'm Becoming!"
"JUDAS IN!"
"JUDAS IN MY MIND!"

…
"…The crowd may hate her but they love a good sing-a-long. Now back to booing." Critic breaks the commentary silence. Music had abruptly cut with the end of the chorus; boos are reigning down. But there are those in the crowd who are fully backing the mission of the Judas Avatar.
"If this your first introduction to Heart & Soul, a bit of background. Korra kicked down the front door and is hellbent on brining her form or equality to our roster. But equality to her is bullying anyone not her out of this business. She even got a posse now, the Pink Lotus, to always give her the one-up against her targets." Ai informs the home audience.
A new song reverberates throughout the CourageDome. Something completely different to what anyone has ever heard in Heart & Soul, or the whole of the FWM for that matter. Green & Blue lights are shading the interior of the building. A slight metallic shake can be heard in tandem with the bass of this anthem. This is a intense symphonic cover by FalKKonE of "Requiem" by Joe Hisashi. The quiet of confusion in the crowd quickly turns into cheers realizing who is coming out of the right entryway.
"And Her Opponent. From The Valley Of The Wind. She Is The COO Of Heart & Soul Wrestling….This Is Nausicaa!" Not-Bruce Campbell announces.
"The Princess Of The Valley Has Arrived. She Is Here To Stand Up For The Entire Locker Room, To Try And Settle The Matter By The Laws Of The Ring." Ai declares.
"She's Full Of Bravado, But What Makes Her Think She Can Measure Up To The Judas Avatar?" Critic asks. "3-Time Women's Champion Versus Someone Whose Just Having Their First Singles Match In The Company Tonight!"
"That is true, Nausicaa is entering her very first singles match in company history-" Ai states.
"AND the last match she was in she lost to the damn rainbow princess and her cat girl!" Critic shouts over Ai.
"…the Maidens did loose to the Best Friends, true, but-" Ai tries to defend Nausicaa.
"But What, Ai? But What?" Critic demands to know.
"This Is Now A Level Playing Field, Critic! No Pink Lotus To Run Rampant!" Ai yells. "Last time we saw Korra alone, she lost to Pyrrha. Lets see if her actions can speak louder then the words she's been saying the past month."
Nausicaa pauses on the top of the stairs, glancing around to the crowd towering on all sides of the ring. Though she couldn't hear Critic's rant, she knew there was doubt coming into tonight of her in-ring abilities. But if any of the fans had similar apprehensions, you couldn't hear it. They are cheering her on, wanting to see anyone wipe the arrogant smirk that's been fixed on Korra's face the past few months. A loss to the company's COO is a setback Korra does not envision.
Nausicaa (0-0) vs. Korra (0-0)
The anthem fades into the chants of the crowd. All eyes are now on the two women in the ring. Korra casually stretches, awaiting for the bell to sound. Nausicaa stands at the ready, calmly poised to start fighting for the honor of her newfound company.
"Once more, Pink Lotus are barred from the building for this match. So are San, Ashitaka & The Best Friends Squad." Ai reminds the home crowd.
"So when Korra outwrestles Nausicaa, there are no excuses Ai." Critic stabs.
"Sush." Ai quiets her co-worker.
The bell sounds, hard camera fixing harshly upon the six sided ring. At the sound of the bell, Korra instantly drops to the match and calmly rolls out. The crowd release their frustrations in a hurry, though the Judas Avatar is unphased.
"Korra going to make Nausicaa and everyone here wait even longer." Ai states.
"You frustrated?" Critic asks. "That's what she wants. That's what she wants out of Nausicaa."
Korra stood back near one of the lower balconies. She's motioning for Nausicaa to come out into her domain, where metal and concrete would surround them both.
"They once called her the Hardcore Avatar for a reason, folks." Critic states.
But Korra's confidence is kicked down a peg. Nausicaa backed out of the ring herself but takes to standing on the opposite side. Even mimicking the hand gestures of Korra.
"And we're opening with a stand off on a large scale." Ai describes.
"Who flinches first?" Critic asks.
Korra doesn't wish to loose control of the situation. With a head tilt she gets a bit more serious, and steps back toward the ring. Nausicaa parallels, jumping up on the apron just as Korra does. Both women freeze in place, hoping the other will head inside first so they may cut the other off. Growing restless, Korra at last breaks into the ring. She tries to knock Nausicaa off the apron with a Water Whip. Nausicaa ducks, instead getting the first shot to connect with a roundhouse to Korra's jaw!
Korra adjusts her stance, favoring jaw briefly. Nausicaa weaves through the ropes and quickly tries throwing a forearm forward. Korra grabs the arm, whipping Nausicaa across into the far set of ropes.
"Nausicaa bounces back, Korra's going for the Water Whip Again!" Ai exclaims.
Nausicaa DEFECLTS the heels swinging around, throwing up her forearm. She instead reaches for Korra's left arm. With ALL the momentum she can muster by dropping herself to the canvas, Korra is sent tumbling forward. She saves herself from fulling collapsing to the canvas, but instead connects shoulder first into one of the corner pads.
"Nausicaa Got The Upper Hand Right Now!" Ai shouts.
"Not Fully, Not Fully." Critic dismisses.
Korra has great ring presence, knows she's close to the ropes. Rather then get attacked from behind she rolls back out. Nausicaa was trying for a baseball slide that gets nothing but pad. Korra spins around and grabs Nausicaa's foot, BASHING the ankle off the ring post!
"There, Instant Turnaround!" Critic shouts, sounding frustrated that he's right.
If you didn't see it properly the first time, Korra repeats. The inside of Nausicaa's left ankle is cracked off the ring post. Korra wasn't going to linger. She is now kicking into high gear, pulling herself up and back into the ring. She drags Nausicaa to her feet, to the center of the ring. She tries hooking Nausicaa's leg, wanting to throw her over with a Saito Suplex. But Nausicaa manages to break free mid-transition, landing on a knee behind Korra.
"Korra didn't have that leg fully hooked, Nausicaa is free!" Ai exclaims, Korra turning around and getting hit in the head with a stiff forearm. Then she twists up Korra's arm, trying to pull it behind. Korra pivots to keep facing Nausicaa, but gets a kicked in her lower ribs. Nausicaa looses her foot, feet still seething in pain from the posts shots. She wraps her arms around Korra's waist, letting her momentum fall against the Judas Avatar and bring her down to the canvas.
"Nausicaa fumbling with Korra. She's struggling to stand!" Critic points out.
"But She's Got Korra's Ankle In A Vice!" Ai observes. "Or Trying To Anyway"
Nausicaa was attempting to stand back up, trying to roll Korra onto her belly to twist her own ankle. Not quite locking in enough for submission, but enough to grind out the bone & stretch the muscles. Returning the favor of the ankle shots a few moments earlier. But Korra beginning to violently swerve her whole body side to side leads to Nausicaa loosing her grip. The Princess of The Valley retreats against the ropes to keep her balance. She briefly but visibly grabs at her boots, readjusting.
"…alright." Critic breaks the commentary silence. "Alright, I admit it. Nausicaa make have better standing in this match then I first thought…..but she's still not world champ material."
"She doesn't have to be world champion material, tonight. She just got to keep Korra in the laws of a wrestling ring tonight." Ai states.
Korra is back up to her feet, but doesn't go immediately upon the attack. She's waiting in the middle of the ring for a lock-up. Nausicaa knows she can't out muscle Korra, and instead leans on her speed to get the upper hand. She throws herself at Korra's waist once again, but only get Korra to back up a lone pace. Korra shoves her back, then quickly trying to daze the One Clad In Blue with a high knee. Nausicaa catches the knee and successfully sweeps the Judas Avatar off her moorings.
"Nausicaa Uproots Korra!" Ai exclaims.
Nausicaa drags Korra a few paces into one of the corners. She wants Korra prone for a early go at a 450 splash. But by the time Nausicaa is up on the turnbuckle, Korra is rolling back into the center of the ring. Nausicaa jumps off, hoping to connect with a diving dropkick before Korra has her wherwithall…

Korra Drops Nausicaa With A Spinning Heel Kick!
"Korra Shoots Nausicaa Down!" Ai shouts.
"Too Soon For Anything Flippy!" Critic hammers Nausicaa upon. Korra very quickly rolls over top of Nausicaa. She's not going for a pin. But rather she's scooping up the ankle.
"And Now Korra Going For A Ankle Lock Of Her Own." Critic says. "She's going to try and tear up one of those targeted ankles as fast as she can. Nausicaa in trouble already."
A fist of Nausicaa's tightens into a ball as Korra applies the lock. She very quickly feels the pain shooting through the foot. But on the horizon is a set of ropes, Nausicaa manages to pull herself the short distance and gets a hand on them.

Korra Drops The Ankle.
"You were harping on about laws of the ring, Ai." Critic recalled.
"Anyone knows the rules best, its Nausicaa." Ai affirms. "Her knowledge just saved her."
The moment the refs keels on the separation, Korra is back on her opponent. She stands Nausicaa up, softening her with a backhand chop. Then monkey flips Nausicaa into the center of the hexagon.
"Monkey Flipping Her Into The Ring. Rolling Thunder, Perhaps?" Critic asks.
Korra wasn't rolling up to Nausicaa, however. She wasn't interested in getting theatrical. Just strolling up to a woman clutching at her ankle. She stomps on the ankle, crushing some fingers briefly in the process. She has control of both of Nausicaa's legs, splaying them out. She STOMPS down on Nausicaa's pelvis!
"Korra With That Painful Looking Stomp!" Ai exclaims.
"Painful only for Nausicaa. Korra's channeling her own inner Painmaker." Critic claims.
Korra starts to pull Nausicaa of her back. It doesn't look like she's setting up for a suplex, however.
"Korra raising her up to the shoulder….you don't think she's trying for that Balance Restorer early?" AI asks.
"She'll go for it any opportunity she has." Critic responds.
"She Hits This Now, Things Are Over In A Heartbeat!" Ai cries out.
But As Quickly Korra Throws Nausicaa Up On Her Shoulder, So To Does The Princess Slid Free Down The Back! Korra spins around, trying to grab her opponent. Nausicaa hits her multiple times with clubbing forearms! One after another, throwing ANYTHING to daze Korra.
"Nausicaa clubbing Korra!" Ai announces.
Nausicaa underhooks both of Korra's arm. She briefly raises her in the air before dropping down into a atomic drop!
"A Receipt For The Pelvic Stomp!" Critic yells.
Nausicaa quickly throws one fore-arm club before letting Korra be. She gets some distance, before charging up to the dazed Judas Avatar. This time a lariat that rattles Korra in place. Nausicaa backs up, trying again for something on the charge. But Korra's now had enough time to recover, whipping Nausicaa into the ropes…

"Nausicaa Keeping Korra Down, She Has A Go At A Cover!" Ai describes.

Kickout!
"I'm impressed Nausicaa even managed to put Korra down. No way that was going to keep her down, however." Critic states.
"How do you think she can keep her down?" Ai asks.
"By Not Stopping! Keep Piling On The Offense!" Critic hollers.
Nausicaa appears to be planning to do just that. Korra may have got the shoulder up, but Nausicaa is trying to keep the Judas Avatar down. More clubbing forearms to the head. Feeling safe that Korra was momentarily beyond fighting back, Nausicaa puts Korra up in a vertical stance.
"Nausicaa got her head purposefully under the arm." Ai describes.

"And Korra Yanking Momentum Back Into Her Pocket." Critic states.
"Nausicaa landing just shy of the bottom of the turnbuckle." Ai observes.
Nausicaa doesn't make any massive movements. Her hands slowly palm up, one after another. Just as she starts to lift her jaw off the canvas, she gets herself violently thrown against the turnbuckle pad. Korra stomps the sole of her boot into Nausicaa's throat. Next stomp she allows to last, holding down upon the neck.
"Now Nausicaa Can't Even Breath! Boot Across The Throat!" Ai cries out.
The official gives Korra a few more seconds to eb back willingly…

"LEG-HOOK SAITO!" Critic shouts, A POWERFUL Impact That Skips Nausicaa Across The Canvas….OUT OF THE RING!
"…Critic, I've heard many a story of Korra….was she always this strong?" Ai asked worryingly.
"She Was Always OP In Her Skills As A Bender…But I Remember Her For Kicking Like A Van Dam, Not Tossing Her Opponents Around Like Rag Dolls." Critic recalls.
"Where Did Nausicaa Go?" Ai asked.
"SOMEWHERE out to the floor, she slid. Can't see from here." Critic states. "She Best Stay Out Of The Ring. The Judas Avatar Is Looking To Kill Her!"
Korra sets up, calm & cool. She knew she'd thrown Nausicaa down with all the force she could, and assumed the damage dealt was considerable. She remains seated on the canvas, with hands resting upon her arched knee. The referee commences the count of 10…

"Wait Now, Korra Heading Out Of The Ring." Ai describes.
"What's She Doing?" Critic questioned. "She Could Have Easily Gotten A Count Out Win."
Nausicaa was just starting to push up from the cold and grimy floor of the CourageDome. Korra clamps her fingers into her opponent's orange hair, clamps onto the head. She motions toward the sharp metal edge of one of the custom-built balconies surrounding the hexagon ring.
"She's not looking to just outwrestle her. Korra's looking to implode Nausicaa's head!" Critic exclaims.
"Come On, Korra, If You're Going To Beat Her Up, Keep It In The Confirms Of The Ropes!" Ai begs, but of course the Judas Avatar wouldn't.

"A DDT Rebounded Off The Lower Balcony!" Ai exclaims. "Nausicaa Brings Everything Back To Basics, They Are Both Down On The Floor!"
"A Fluke Opening Just Brought The Avatar Down!" Critic yells.
"Nobody Here Thinks It's A Fluke But You, Critic!" Ai hollers back at Critic.

"Welcome Back To Heart & Soul: Grit. Nausicaa Has Been Throwing Everything Legal She Can Think Of To Keep The Judas Avatar Dazed!" Ai exclaims as Korra is toppled to the canvas with a discus elbow smash.
"Yes, dazed, but look at Nausicaa huffing and puffing. She's throwing anything she can think of to keep Korra stunned. If She doesn't pin her shortly, Korra's going to recover." Critic claims.
Nausicaa hurries out of the ring, taking a stance on the apron. She clutches her hands around the top rope…

"Not enough." Critic states. "And Nausicaa Has NOTHING That's Enough For Korra, I'm Telling You!"
"The Image Of Korra Being On The Mat Begs To Differ." Ai replies. "But What Else Can Nausicaa Throw At Her?"
Nausicaa was pondering the same thing. This type of environment is far from her element. She's a tag wrestler, she's used to tagging out to San. San is the more vicious one of the Maidens, Nausicaa is the leader. But if she can't beat the biggest menace to not only the women's locker room but all of Heart & Soul, how can she lead the promotion forward?
"Another Northern Lights, maybe?" Ai asks, Nausicaa is drawing KOrra up in a human bridge. She tries to get Korra lifted off the mat…

But Korra Is Able To Twist Nausicaa Fingers Loose. She Drops Out Of The Maiden's Clutches. She Has Nausicaa's Arm And Sucks Her Into A STIFF Punch To The Bridge Of The Nose!
"A NASTY SHOT FROM KORRA!" Ai shouts. "I don't even think that's legal!"
"Ref's sight blocked by Nausicaa's head." Critic covers..
Korra very quickly begins firing off multiple backhanded chops to Nausicaa's chest. Nausicaa begins retreating, eventually ending up with back pressed to one of the corners.
Korra takes off from mid-ring, poised to drive the bottom of her boot into Nausicaa's battered face. But the running boot doesn't find the mark, Nausicaa slips to the side. Korra grabs her by the arm and tries to whip her across the ring….

"Nausicaa Can't Stand Anymore!" Critic exclaims with a cackle.
"But She Can Still Get The Chickenwing On, Look, Look!" Ai shouts.
Indeed Nausicaa Was Going For It! She's pulled one of Korra's arms twisted behind her back. The chickenwing portion is locked in.
"Chickenwing Locked And Armed!" Ai yells out.
"But the jaw isn't caught in place. Nausicaa want's to get a submission, she can't let Korra waltz away." Critic points out.
Though one can see Nausicaa trying to stretch her hand out numerous time to get Korra's jaw locked into place, the Judas Avatar makes sure to not keep still. Nausicaa get grasp the jaw, Korra's able to pull her body as far away from Nausicaa as her spine will allow her. Eventually the twist on the arm slackens. Korra pops to her feet, stomping a few times on the top of where Nausicaa's ribs are located. Korra saw her opportunity for a quick end, grabbing Nausicca off the mat and throwing her back first in the canvas with speed in the form of a german suplex.
"German Suplex!" Ai exclaims. "That wasn't a straight landing, she made sure Nasuicaa landed on the side of her ribcage awkwardly!"
Korra slowly stood back up, whipping a strand of her out of her eyes and calmly walking over the knocked down COO of Heart & Soul. Nausicaa could he faintly heard coughing over the boos in the building. Korra looked around at the fans booing down at her and was none to pleased. Korra's patience suddenly ended when she clocked Nausicaa in the face one more time. This time with her boot in the form of a spinning heel kick. She then positioned Nausicaa's head at her pelvis, raising her legs, spinning….

"Ah no, she was so close." Ai cries out as the bell sounds to end the match.
"She was as close to beating the Judas Avatar as Quaid topping Kilmer as Holiday." Critic claims dryly.
Korra released her opponents legs, letting Nausicaa flop into a heap of humanity in the center of the ring. Korra shoes little for wear as she stands up, with hand being raised by the official.
"Ladies & Gentlemen your winner of the match, Korra!" Not-Bruce Campbell announces.
"Nausicaa through everything she got but none of it was able to stop the Judas Avatar." Ai states.
"Yeah, all five offensive moves she had. That was luck the Tornado DDT!" Critic claims.
"Admit it, this went on far longer then you were anticipating!" Ai demands Critic to be truthful..
"I have nothing to admit. The only reason you're shouting is because your as foolhardy as the rest of the fans in here." Critic asserts.
"….Korra defeats Nausicaa, clean, in the middle of the Courage Dome. If our own Chief Operating Officer can't put a stop to her, whose going to keep Korra & The Pink Lotus from carving up our locker room how they see fit?" Ai asks.
Zack (1-0) vs. Johnny Alvarez (0-0) – Carnage Championship
Zack was back again with a second iteration of his Carnage Open Challenge. He cradles the smashed up belt close like it was his own child, while calling for someone to come to the ring and try to pry it from his hands. The man to answer this time was the Spoiled Fighter, Johnny Alvarez. The first time he'd been seen in a Heart & Soul ring since the main event of Innuendo. He's looking to give himself a fresh start with a gory victory over Zack. Maybe even set up a potential rematch against the Innovator of Carnage if he could possess that championship only recognized by that deranged man.
Zack is in peril of loosing the belt. Johnny's fists are are more impactful then any Zack can counter with. Everyone gets a clinic in the really going, a reminder why Johnny became a standout in the first year of the new company. Zack evens the odds with weapons, which grow increasingly heavier in size. Trying to find something that'll equal the Spoiled Fighter's haymakers: Heavy steel chains. Quite viciously he uses it to both stun and drag Johnny in the latter stages of the match. Johnny tries to put Zack away with a Knockout Package but doesn't not his foot all caught up in the chains. Zack pulls tight, tripping Johnny up with all of Zack's weight going upon the Spoiled Fighter's chest. After cutting Johnny wide open, the match is brought to its finale with a Death Driver (Spiked Piledriver) for Zack. The Serial Killer keeps possession of the Carnage Championship.
Kyoshi Warriors (1-0) vs Gunsmith Cats (0-0)
Although technically gaining a victory last week, it was hardly how Suki & Ty-Lee wanted to start off their wrestling career. They hoped to achieve a clean win tonight by facing Rally Vincent & Minnie May Hopkin. The Gunsmith Cats are having their first match of the second year and try their hardest to get on the winning boards. But Ty-Lee & Suki proves to me too quick to catch up to, their agility trumping the Gunsmith Cats more brutish attacks. The Kyoshi Warriors gain a proper victory this week. Post match, Suki is on the microphone and sends a warning to two women not in attendance tonight. That after the intrusion by the Bordeaux Sisters with the rest of the Pink Lotus, they made yet another enemy. That The Kyoshi Warriors are going to be on a campaign of picking up wins to get into contention to challenge for the Soul Tag Team Championship.
Sophisticated Beauty vs. Fallen Angels & Mystery Partner
The Soul Of Wrestling Champion was full of confidence when she and her long-time tag partners strutted to the ring. They felt they had goaded a tempered Shayne Daniels and her friend Ivory Atkinson into a situation they couldn't possibly win. It was 3 vs 2 unless the Fallen Angels could find a partner to even the odds. But the look on Selena Richardson's face when the sounds of a military march hit the sound system showed a sudden realization of error. Shayne & Ivory had gotten the Invincible Girl Pyrrha Nikos to join them tonight. Few in the crowd think it was hard persuasion considering how much Selena has been boasting about herself every since winning the championship.
Although the Sophisticated Beauty have been a well oiled machine in the past, more cracks are shown. The short loss to the current tag team champions still haunts Elena & Sakura. The Fallen Angels are able to go toe-to-toe with one of the best female tag teams in the FWM. While Ivory (and especially Shayne) show their technical prowess, the eyes of the cameras and the crowd go to Pyrrha cutting through Sakura & Elena. She would love to get her hands on the Soul of Wrestling World Champion, to prove a right to a title shot, but Selena ensures to duck and dodge the Invincible Girl. Selena does manage to hold of the inevitable by Aburning Ivory while she isn't looking. But Shayne manages to take her out with her own form of a cutter, the Last Rites! But it was all for show, Shayne not being the legal participant. Ivory makes a blind tag as she needs to get out urgently, and just happens to tag Pyrrha in. Its Elena whose currently legal, and eats….yet ANOTHER display of a rolling cutter, this time the Cross Polarity! Pyrrha picks up the win for her team!
Selena and Sakura collect Elena and hurry up the ring, the champion having words with Sakura but also looking back at the ring in a bit of worry. She'd just seen Two women who both have mastery over her own finisher. Selena fears Pyrrha and nobody could blame her, being the women who beat Korra at Innuendo. But Shayne….could Shayne be a second threat? The Evil Angel appears to believe so. She taps Ivory on the shoulder, asking to swap positions to be next to the ref. Its Shayne & Pyrrha, whose hands are both raised in victory. Ivory briefly glances between over at Shayne and further down at Pyrrha, a momentary look of concern, but shakes it off as just leftover nerves from the match.
Vash The Stampede (1-1) vs. Grant Boone (0-0)
Off the heels of defeating Cole Boone last week, Vash now faces off against that man's cousin. Cole is at ringside to cheer Grant on. Grant proves to be a bit difficult for Vash to take on, moreso then Grant. Once again Vash is taking severe damage to the knee, but also to the elbow. But for all of Grant's efforts, the Humanoid Typhoon prevails, managing to defeat Grant with a Trigun Stampede.
After the match, Vash is noticeably tinkering with the elbow but is stopped by Cole on the microphone. He thanks Vash for the opportunity he's given to he and Grant. That nobody else has seen what Vash as saw in them. He hopes he isn't stepping to far, but asks if Vash would be willing to break his cousin Walter into the business also. Vash hesitates, with Grant stating "now, I don't expect it to be tonight. I know your rather banged up like Grant is, so we'll wait till next week." But Vash waves off Cole. He says he won't let Walter wait, bring him down now.
It was a move Vash would soon come to regret.
Vash The Stampede (2-1) vs. Walter Boone (0-0)
While Grant & Cole look somewhat similar in size and appearance, Walter is far different. He is the MONSTER of the three cousins. Vash most likely had second thoughts but wasn't going to make them public. He valiantly fights Walter but is now ripe for the pickings. The Elbow & Knee are both targeted, having been damaged from the past few weeks of action. Walter BEATS Vash The Stampede with a Boone Destruction (Blackout). But the moment the bell rings, Grant & Cole hit the ring and jump up and down in celebration….right on top of Vash's chest. Its pretty obvious at this point that Cole had goaded Vash into this matches, with he and Cole tearing him down to be demolished by Walter.
"Thank You, Vash…..now…would you kindly dispose of yourself in the nearest trash can!" Cole shouts, as all three of the Boones dump Vash over the top rope. SPITTING on him and laughing! The Boones are officially arrived in Heart & Soul Wrestling and believe they have just replaced the Humanoid Typhoon on the roster.
Renton Thurston (1-0) vs. Booker DeWitt (1-0) vs. Alex Minazuki (1-0) vs. Dr Jo Nason (1-0) - Gold Rush Ladder Match
The main event of last week was the most anticipated encounter in Heart & Soul's short history. That status was quickly replaced by the main event of this week's Grit. Four men got the same chance at gaining the opportunity of a lifetime. The winner of this ladder match gets to try and wrestle the Heart Of Wrestling Championship out of the hands of Adam Price. The Top Bill himself was in attendance for this pivotal fight, taking position at the commentary table but remaining silent. His eyes tinted from few by his sunglasses.
Of the four vying to be next in line, none is more vocal then Renton Thurston. The only one tonight to come to ringside with back-up. He needs Eureka at ringside as she is potentially the only person in the entire CourageDome cheering for his victory. At the sound of the bell, he bolts out of the ring and eggs on the three remaining men to duke it out. He's not expecting Minazuki to crash upon him with a suicide dive. That just leaves the two heavyweights remaining in ring; Booker DeWitt & Jo Nason. The two are rather soft on one another for the initial moments. Nason is just toying with DeWitt, trying to find his weaknesses. Dewitt less worried about hurting Nason and more worried about getting to a ladder. Both of their directions are eventually diverted to Renton up on the apron. He's cheering for both men to tear the other apart. His enthusiasm for violence turns south when he realizes both heavyweights are eyeing him up. Thurston tries to escape, heading for an exit between the two balconies but gets grabbed by DeWitt. DeWitt throws him back first on the floor with a vicious german suplex. Nason picks up the pieces of Thurston, dumping them with a gutwrench powerbomb. It was less about damaging Renton and more sending a message to DeWitt.
While DeWitt was being educated, Minazuki was busy moving furniture. He was in the process of setting up the first ladder to be used in the ring tonight. DeWitt's attempts to get in and stop him were derailed quickly. Minazuki careened the top of the ladder at the ex-Pinkerton's skull. Seeing Nason coming toward the ring next, Minazuki looks to use the ladder as a runway over the ropes. But whatever he was trying is thwarted, Nason pushing all his weight down on the end of the ladder and shaking Minazuki off.
Nason quickly takes full possession of the ladder, standing in the ring but not setting it up just yet. He gores Minazuki in the corner with the edge of the ladder. He drills it into the young man's gut a second time, giving a curious head tilt hearing Minazuki cry out in pain the second time. He casts the ladder aside for a moment. Minazuki falls face first to the mat, only to be turned over as Nason begins meticulously hitting him with knee drops to the abdomen. Each one targeting a slightly different point on the Cure Phenomenal's body.
DeWitt manages to roll in the ring undetected. He pulls the ladder gingerly away while Nason dissects Minazuki. But just as he has he gets the ladder set up, Renton comes flying across his head from one of the turnbuckles. The Self-Proclaimed Best Mecha Pilot is trying to hurry up the ladder and steal the number one contender slot in a upset. But the ladder is too far from the briefcase with the contract. Renton gambled and now it was time to pay up. Dewitt pries Renton from the ladder, having him set up on his shoulders for his own version of a electric chair driver. But Renton, knowing this move better then anyone else, starts punching away at Dewitt's skull. Instead of the driver, DeWitt's knees crumble and faceplants Renton on the mat!
Nason and DeWitt spar, each one wanting to take the other heavyweight out of the fight. DeWitt seems to have the upper hand after a discus elbow smash. But trying to bounce off the ropes for a more powerful, second smash gives Nason just enough time to grip his surroundings. A meat hook lariat turns DeWitt inside out. Nason folded up the ladder, tossing it clear out of the ring to boos from the crowd. Nason is left worried about winning at this time but more invested in dismantling the three cadavers he sees before him. He needs room to work. Nason gives some dirty old Garvin Stomps, to a untrained eye at random. But when he drops DeWitt gut first over the ropes, those stomps were all aimed at the sternum. Now Nason turns his attention to Renton. But he is just a bit to slick, rolling to the outside where Eureka (and the ladder) were. Nason doesn't see Minazuki getting up on the top of the opposing post. The Genocidal Genius turns right into a diving dropkick that jolts the big man back into one of the six corners.
Minazuki groggily gets out of the ring, getting hold of a second ladder that is propped in position. Renton grabs the opposing rungs just as Alex tries to fold up the ladder. Both start a tug-of-war, unfolding the ladder as far as it'll go. Eureka jumps in, grabbing around her beloved's waist and pulling him back. This gives Renton just enough leverage to get the ladder in his possession. Quick fold up to use it as a ram that he runs Minazuki head first with. Renton is now the one trying to go after the briefcase. But if he wants to stage the ladder in ring, be got to go through Nason. Renton won't get the upper hand on him anytime soon. The ladder is pried from his hands and cast aside (this time just into a corner). Renton is tossed across the ring with another gutwrench powerbomb. Nason tries to set up a ladder and even gets up a few rungs toward the briefcase. But DeWitt is back in the action, scaling up the opposite side of the ladder. They duke it out up top, hoping to knock the other into a daze to get at the case. Dewitt gets the upper hand, Nason drops feet first off the ladder to prevent a more serious tumble. Although he gets his hands on the briefcase, it is only fleeting. Nason uproots the ladder, forcing DeWitt to also jump off to avoid a dreadful fall to the floor.
For some time, all four men exchange opponents to batter. Everyone is so determined to be the one to face The Top Bill that its difficult for any of them to get far up a ladder. Jo Nason & Renton Thurston are both trying to keep the other from scaling up toward a briefcase. But their struggle to stop the other allows DeWitt the opportunity to climb up unopposed. DeWitt puts a stop to both Renton & Booker by using Renton's body as a club. Nason whipping Renton around in a seated position leads to the Self-Proclaimed Mecha Pilot making contact and uprooting the ladder. Dewitt falls off and lands shoulder first across the top rope!
Minazuki prevents Nason from going for the briefcase with a moonsault, holding a ladder tightly to his chest as he jumps down and crushes the Genocidal Genius! The Cure Phenomenal is instantly up on his feet, but quickly collapses back into a corner. He's had the wind knocked out of him by such a reckless move. Its clear he got slightly cut up by the ladder on impact, blood seeps from a cut on the bridge of his nose. Nason only makes tiny jerks of the arm, buried under the ladder he was compressed by. DeWitt, whose still favoring his arm, has the where-with-all to kick Nason out of the ring. DeWitt offers the rookie in the ring some advice, to stay down and spare himself getting hurt this time around. But Minazuki shoots up to his feet and shoves back the weathered veteran. It gets the crowd hyped for the Cure Phenomenal, but only puts him in a more precarious spot. DeWitt DECKS Minazuki with the stiffest punch he could muster, splitting reactions from the crowd. A lot of higher pitched boos and lower pitched cheers going on.
DeWitt is the only one now standing and makes a go for the briefcase. But about halfway up the ladder, he feels his foot is being held. Its not by any of the participants. Eureka is trying to buy as much time as she can for Renton to recovery from his wounds and get back in the fight. Booker is far from amused, stepping down and giving Eureka a stare that reeks of death. But before Booker can do anything about it, He is uppercut with the edge of ladder. Renton has taken possession of yet another ladder from the outside and has his head in between one of the rungs. He spins like a plane prop, battering Booker more times in the head and arms before he dips out of the ring to get away.
The fight for the briefcase continues on a steady course. All four men continue to batter one another. As Minazuki & Thurston are at one point battering each other on the top of a single ladder. Each man tries reaching up for the briefcase but don't have enough time to grab it. But the heavyweights begin to ascend up a ladder next door. Although not intentional, they manage to grab their lighter counterparts by the throat at the same time. Nason has Minazuki, DeWitt has Thurston. DeWitt & Nason jump off, chokeslamming whichever adversary they got in their clutches all the way down to the mat! Both big men are shortly after trying to tear one another apart once again. Each one eventually takes to a different ladder, hoping to beat the other to the top. Nason gets DeWitt hooked up in a Mandible Claw. All the way up top, it appears DeWitt may plunge back when he begins fading. But tapping into the last of his adrenaline, he powers out. Nason gets his feet on the tippy top rung, making a desperate lunge for the briefcase. He gets his arms around it but its too late. DeWitt grabs his arms around the waist and deadlifts Nason OVER his own shoulder, back body dropping him ALL the way to the canvas!
DeWitt appears to have a clear shot for the briefcase…

But gets stabbed in the back! Its Eureka once again interfering into the match, armed with a kendo stick that she begins waylaying at the ex-Pinkerton's spine. DeWitt has no way of getting out harms way. Stepping down puts in in better range of the stick. One too many shots and DeWitt looses his grip. He is able to cushion some of the fall with feet out, back trying stand he get jabbed in the face with the sharp edge of a amita drive in Renton's hand. Renton is struggling to stand but DeWitt is now to his level. After multiple stabs DeWitt is prone to the mat. Minazuki tries to crawl back in the ring, seeing a opportunity, but gets his hand swatted at by the kendo stick in Eureka's hand.
The train truly comes off the rails at this hour. Darting out from between the balconies, sliding into the ring, is a fur-pelt blur. It's San! She goes right for Eureka, tackling her down to the mat! She is in the six-sided ring for hardly a few seconds, just enough to drag Eureka out with her. Its revenge for the interference in Ashitaka's qualifier against Renton two weeks ago. The last we see of Eureka is her being dragged through one of the entry ways, neck locked in a patrial pentagram choke! Chants of 'Thank You San!" fill the arena, flustering a furious Renton in the hexagon ring. He's all alone with no assurance he will win the match now. Nason gets a hand on one rope, then a second hand. Like a monster out of a horror film he pulls himself up on the apron. His eyes scream of diabolical intentions, sprinting Renton into action. Renton makes a forlorn hope up one of the ladders. He hopes perhaps he's just quick enough to get the briefcase before the Genocidal Genius gets ahold of him. But it is not to be. Nason got Thurston with a mandible claw and yanks him all the way down to the canvas. Nason climbs the ladder next….but not to grab the chance of a lifetime….

Its Instead To Torment His Prey Further By Diving FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER, A KNEE DROP CRASHING RIGHT UPON THE SOLAR PLEXIUS! Renton Is Out Of The Commission For The Rest Of Tonight!
Nason turns next to try and eliminate DeWitt from action. But the ex-Pinkerton still got quite some fight left in him. He holds off Nason as long as he can. But while the two heavyweights are tussling, Minazuki JUMPS from one of the turnbuckles onto the back of the ladder dead under the briefcase. DeWitt & Nason rush to push the ladder over…
