Grit Episode 6
Booker DeWitt (1-1) vs Dustin Alexander
No chit-chat wasting time to start Grit off this week. Booker DeWitt faces off against Dustin Alexander. The latter is making his debut for Heart & Soul Wrestling, entering the CourageDome shrouded in darkness save for a pale blue light that flickers ominously. He outclasses DeWitt in height, making this match a uphill battle for the former Pinkerton. DweWitt gets throttled crotch first across the ropes, demonstrating the power within Alexander's arms. But Alexander leaves the arena tonight realizing he'll need more then sheer strength to win. DeWitt manages to pick Alexander apart, bringing him down to a level capable of manhandling. DeWitt defeats Alexander with Dewitt Devastation (Spinning Sitout Powerbomb).
As the dust settles from out opening encounter, Doctor Jo Nason can be seen slowly clapping for DeWitt at the mouth of one of the entryways. That clapping turns into a smothering of his hands, as if he was sizing DeWitt up as a juicy steak for dinner. Nason approaches and enters the ring, putting DeWitt on edge. But rather then go to blows, he unveils a envelope in the False Prophet's name in splendid cursive. DeWitt looks confused while Nason heads to the back.
Backstage Shenanigans #1
The three Boones, now going under the trio title of Boone County, are seen scaling up the rickety ladder leading to the second floor offices behind the balconies that encircle the ring. They approach a door. After hearing a voice invite them in, they step forward to the desk of Heart & Soul CEO Varrick. They've come to inquire about who they are facing tonight. Varrick looks dumbfounded at first. Not wanting to admit he'd forgotten he'd signed on this trio, he quickly explains to them that he feels that he's ordered to have their first match as a collective unit be on pay-per-view. The Boone Brothers are taken aback, but excited. They ask who their opponents will be, but Varrick tells them that's a question for Nausicaa.
Lucia Siycron (1-0) vs. Sarah Ortiz
A rivalry from NCW and the independents a few years back is dusted off for this next match. Sarah Ortiz makes her Grit debut, first time in Heart & Soul since being in the Fatal Four Way for the Soul Of Wrestling Championship. She wants to make a quick impact on the CourageDome audience, get into the hunt for the title again. But doing so means getting through the cold & mysterious Siycronian in singles action.
The match was lighting fast in pace, thanks in large part to Ortiz's lucha background. Although what may have been most photogenic was Ortiz being ripped out of the air from a attempted crossbody, being planted shoulders first with a german suplex from Lucia for a close 2 count. But when Siycron went later in the match to try and lock Sarah up in the Andromeda Stretch, the Female Enigma managed to grasps the ropes to break before the hold was fully applied.
Ortiz was hoping to be able to win the match with a Angelic Splash (Frog Splash), but Siycron had it scouted. Siycron rolled away, quickly hopping on top of Sarah for a attempted cover. Though Ortiz was able the recover from the hard impact, she couldn't defend herself from eating Kiss & Torment (Reverse STO). Lucia Siycron wins tonight's fight, although one can expect Sarah to train harder for a rematch down the line.
After the match, Ortiz lingered in the ring pulling herself back together. She and everyone in the CourageDome were perplexed by Avatar Korra approaching the ring. Sarah is but on edge, knowing off the attacks the Pink Lotus have perpetrated since Grit began. Korra puts her at ease, that she is only out here to make her a offer. She alludes to the fact that this is two losses in a row, if one includes failing to capture the Soul of Wrestling Championship. Being alone may not be the best at this time. Perhaps if she wants to get back on the high horse, she should join a championship team. She offers Sarah Ortiz a spot within the Pink Lotus, handing her a shirt. Korra understood she wouldn't be getting a answer immediately but would like to hear from her before the show is over tonight.
Gregory & Angus vs. 27 Club – Heart Tag Team #1 Contender Tag Team Championship
The pursuit for the Heart Of Wrestling Tag Team Championship continues between fan-favorites Gregory & Angus against the not-so-beloved 27 Club. Perhaps its lets to do with their grody denim jackets and more a lack of familiarity with the audience as to why Aiden Nicks & Eddie Cafferty. Nothing changed for the rock heads as Gregory & Angus were able to put on a clinic. Gregory & Angus defeat the 27 Club in quick order and move on to more pressing adversaries next week in the Semi-Finals.
Backstage Shenanigans #2
Podcast is standing by in the back doing some sewing with metaphorical threads. WE have Bolin & Opal, alongside Ashitaka & San. All four individuals have had their past few weeks in Heart & Soul made miserable because of the outbursts of one individual. The Self-Proclaimed Mecha Pilot, Renton Thurston. Bolin speaks for everyone else gathered, they're tired of being the victims of Renton's constant outbursts. If he is as good he says he is then he would already had challenged himself or Ashitaka to a match. But instead, he's demoted the Vinyl King to his cannon fodder. Those two and their partners of passion are always hand in hand. Bolin ponders if Renton will be more confident to face up to his outburst with Eureka, Atticus & Isla by his side. Bolin makes official a challenge for a four way tag team match at Back in Black. Bolin, Opal, Ashitaka & San against Renton and the only people he hasn't yet scorned in Heart & Soul.
No sooner Bolin had finished speaking, Renton appeared in frame. He'd heard the interview from the monitor in the locker room and wasn't going to waste any time. He's more than happy to accept. Ashitaka asks Renton shouldn't he discuss it with his partners. Renton speaks for Atticus, saying that the Vinyl King has been chomping at the bit to get on a pay-per-view. "Plus" Renton replies, "Unlike you, I don't have to me daisy chained to my muse to save everyone from having their face mauled off." No response from San aside from a glare calling for Renton's demise, which spooks him off.
Christopher House Wants His Belt Back
Perhaps the biggest story out of last weeks Grit was the return of The Franchise of Carnage. He instantly set his eyes back upon the prize he lost at Innuendo. Zack bolted last week when Chris mad a move for the Carnage Championship. This week, Chris House makes a proper entrance to the ring. He storms to the ring full of piss & vinegar, knocking a cameraman aside while blitzing into the six sided ring. He's quick to a microphone as his theme subsides from the PA system.
"Grit is new, its fresh, its raw, its just started to harden into a diamond. Its very first distinctive glimmer has been the Carnage Championship. Its been almost weekly we'd see that belt being defended by a serial killer. Even though the brain trust of this place shutters, it's true that the best fights have been around my belt." Chris House declares.
"….But when I come to retrieve my belt, it & that thieve are nowhere to be found. Fancy that!"
"What's wrong Zacky? You pull into your closet to shoot another one of your twitter pipebombs?...All I've gotten since last Thursday is texts asking about that little thing he posted. Yeah, I watched it. He used a lot of words, some I'm shocked he even knew. I didn't know there's a grade school for serial killers. Its between Beacon & Hogwarts, I suppose. But what I found out is Zack loves to talk….but…..he don't know what he's talking about. He tried to school all of us on what Carnage is about. He wants to lecture Chris Mother F***ing House on what Carnage means! Buddy…..I wrote the book on deathmatches here in the multiverse. I've been in no dqs, steel cages, barbed wire massacres, scaffold matches, you name it, I've done it. But….I won't deny….I never thought I'd find someone with as much interest with inciting carnage as much as myself…but…..I have remembered one thing from my grade school. See I liked physics. That trick with the newton's balls, gotta love it. But what I remember is that…..two objects cannot share the same space at the same time….Zack, you may one day be the Franchise of Carnage. But today, I'm here. You and I….cannot share…the same ring….at the same time….You want it, I want it. I'm ready, I'm willing, why are you not here!"
"I'm A Champion Of Carnage, You're A Coward Toward Carnage! If You Wish To Remain In Possession Of My Belt, You Must Eviscerate Me From Existence! Eviscerate Me At Back In Black!"
The gauntlet had been thrown done. Only time would tell if Zack would reciprocate.
Shayne Daniels vs. Priss Asagiri
Although many had assumed early last week Pyrrha Nikos was going to be the first challenger for the Soul Championship, a fiery promo from Shayne Daniels made the title scene uncertain. Tonight Miss Daniels got her first opportunity to prove herself as worthy for gold as the Invincible Girl. But she going to have to fight like hell as her opponent, though far more reclusive, as similar goals in mind. This is Priss Asagiri's first time on Grit, it being months since she was last in a Heart & Soul ring. For those unfamiliar with her, she makes a quick impression by rolling into the CourageDome on her red supercharge motorcycle. Daniels remains vocal even at the opening bell, declaring to Miss Asagiri's face that its her time; Her Time! Asagiri shoves the Evil Angel back in defiance.
The first portions of this fight see Daniels scraping and clawing her way into singles competition. Constantly she goes on the attack, only to be deflected by Priss. After Daniel's barrages were subsiding, Asagiri went for the attack. Daniel's taken off her feet by a roundhouse kick and retreats to the outside. A bad place to be, as Asagiri suicide dives down upon her! Asagiri gets a deserving ovation for the speed and height she took but opts instead to rattle Daniel's head off the ring post. She enters the ring and waits, opting instead for a count out.
Asagiri was overconfident in her abilities, as Daniels managed to meet the count. The crowd, though cheering for the Knight Saber's cool moves, were firmly locked behind the Evil Angel. She gets back into the fold, eventually taking down Asagiri with a running neckbreaker. Its now Asagiri trying to duck for some cover on the outside, but gets flattened by a Arabian Press moonsault off the apron! She quickly returns Asagiri to the ring, scaling the ropes and hitting a springboard dropkick. It only gets her a two count, however.
Daniels was going for a spin-out powerbomb but has started to be zapped on stamina. She struggles to get Asagiri on her shoulders, allowing the latter time to reverse it into a huricanrana that spikes Shayne's skull into one of the turnbuckles. She capitalizes on it moments latter with a big boot into the corner. Asagiri wrestles control of the match, working at the neck and shoulders of her opponent. It all culminates with Road Rash (Belly-To-Back Suplex Into Sitout Facebuster), but only yields a two count.
Both combatants end up tussling on top of one of the turnbuckles. Asagiri was attempting to superplex Daniels, but couldn't get the proper footing to achieve the throw. Daniels slipped to the side, kicking Asaigir hard in her kidneys. Daniels steps back into the ropes, criss-corssing Asagiri's arms and throwing her to the mat with a Fall From Grace (Modified Cross-Arm Iconoclasm). Daniels with one last burst of energy hops on top of the turnbuckle and delivers a BME (Double Jump Moonsault) down upon Asagiri for the win!
Backstage Shenanigans #3
Podcast catches up with Booker DeWitt backstage. He wants word on what the contents were of the envelope he was delivered to him personally by the Genocidal Genius. DeWitt doesn't relent, immediately drawing it out and reading. It's a invitation to Back In Black, with Nason wanting to see how far the muscles of DeWitt can stretch. DeWitt accepts, because Heart & Soul will be a safer place once a creep like Nason is taken out of action.
NexGen vs. Hanson Brothers- Heart Tag Team #1 Contender Tag Team Championship
A clash of the trios, in a sense, with this encounter. But tonight, its only Yaseen & Fazel vs. Jack & Jeff. The Hanson Brothers get the better on NexGen, advancing toward the second round to determine number one contenders.
Montreal's Finest (2-0) © vs. Kyoshi Warriors (3-0) – Soul Tag Team Championship
Main Event Time! The Soul Tag Team Champions make there long awaited first defense of the belts they were bestowed thanks to the assistance of the Pink Lotus. But the first dent was made in Pink Lotus' armor last week. Ty-Lee & Suki managed to get a win over Ashley Blade & Millicent Breathnach. They qualified for a shot at the titles. But as previous matches involving the Pink Lotus, tensions are high in the CourageDome. After punching much of the locker room in their morale gut defeating Nausicaa last week, nobody is initially stopping Korra from being on the outside. She is not alone, with Sarah Ortiz standing by in a Pink Lotus shirt.
There are several close falls where it appears the Bordeaux sisters are about to loose their tag titles. But that should not discredit how much of a well oiled machine the tag team champions are. They are keeping Ty-Lee & Suki on there toes. But the constant presence of Korra & Sarah may be getting into their psyche. They are constantly looking over there shoulder. No interference but it buys time for Remi or Maxine to tag the other out, to blindside Suki or Ty-Lee.
There is a miscommunication, Maxine ducks of Ty-Lee's sweeping roundhouse kicks and inadvertently takes out the official. Ty-Lee hits the mark a second time but gets warmed by Remi. Korra senses a opportunity to wrap this one quickly, sliding into the ring to try and make things 3v2 against the Kyoshi Warriors. But to the shock of the Bordeaux Sisters but to the delight of everyone in the crowd, Sarah yanked Korra around and locked her head into a Divine Phoenix (Royal Butterfly)! The crowd pops, Ortiz isn't going to be sucked into Korra's gang. She could very likely have put the Judas Avatar to sleep if not for the arrival of Ashley Blade & Millicent Breathnach. They both pick Sarah up and lay her out with a (somewhat sloppy) variant of the Dudley Death Drop. Things are now 3v5 in the Pink Lotus favor, but Adora, Catra & Glimmer come pouring out to provide aid. A groggy Korra is dragged from the ring by Ashley, but this time they don't get away. Adora & Catra crash into Korra & Ashley, throwing them both up against the metal siding of the balconies. Millicent jumps in but is pulled away by Glimmer. Maxine & Remi, though whooped from a still ongoing match, jump in to try and help the Pink Lotus.
Suki has the wherewithal to grab Remi and get her back in the ring. Ty-Lee delivers a diving buzzsaw knee, seemingly putting Remi down for the win. A new referee comes rushing out, but they are too late. The brawl outside of the ring spills back in, Catra pursuing Ashley. But her targets dodges, placing Ty-Lee in the crosshairs. Catra pays no mind, this time managing to deck Ashley. But the damage has been done, the referee calls for the bell on a disqualification. In the record books the Kyoshi Warriors get a win by DQ, but Montreal's Finest retain. But there's not time for people to think of the result. The brawl is getting intense.
Millicent Breathnach had corned Glimmer, scooping her up on her shoulders. She launches her like a lawn dart at the side of the balcony. The impact of skull to metal is deafening….and the Emerald Amazon wants a encore! Nobody can save Glimmer from being tossed cranium first a second time into the balcony. Things not going well for Korra, as she's attempting to flee both Adora & Sarah. It doesn't appear that the Princess of Power & The Female Enigma are working in tandem. It is merely that they both have the same goal. The Kyoshi Warrior & Montreal's Finest are equally furious with the outcome, and continue brawling within the ring. The show goes off the air as both security & key members of the locker room are pouring into the CourageDome. Trying to keep the building form being obliterated in the brawl.
