Chapter 26: Telling the Family

Back in Canterlot, Will and April were getting everything settled back into their newly repaired house after the Tempest Crew destroyed it.
"It's good to be back home." Will smiles putting the furniture back in place.
"I'll say. I appreciate the Apple Family taking us in but it's just not home." April smiles.
"So Luke should be back home from Camp soon." Will said causing April to giggle.
"I wonder who the lucky lady is who got the rose?" April asks.
"It's been up for debate. Pronto thinks it's gonna be Fluttershy, Kord thinks it's going to be Applejack, Trixie thinks it's that Rarity girl and Eli has his money on Sunset." Will said.
"Oh those 4. Either way I'm sure she'll be a great addition to the family." April said when they heard the door open.
"Grandma, Grandpa we're back!" Luke calls out as he and the Rainbooms arrive.
"Hey good to see your house is all fixed up." Pinkie said.
"Yeah good thing Granny Smith helped us get settled back in." April said.
"So how was Camp?" Will asks.
"Very eventful." Luke said.
"Both good, bad, really bad and really good." Sonata said.
"How did that all happen in one week?" Will asks.
"Equestrian Magic." Fluttershy said.
"Plus we had quite a few problems fixing a very stubborn runway." Rarity said.
"It was a dock." Applejack groans.
"So did you find out the Shane secret?" Will asks.
"Yes I found the Destiny Rose." Luke nods getting his attention.
"So girls, who's the lucky lady?" April asks.
"Well that's the thing." Luke said and all the Rainbooms held up a Destiny Rose petal surprising them.
"Uh Luke mind explaining?" Will asks.
"I kinda said all of them were my soulmates and I gave them each a petal because I couldn't just one of them." Luke admits.
"That's a new one." Will said.
"What do you girls think of this?" April asks.
"Honestly…I'm happy with this." Sunset said.
"Yeah Luke really showed us how much we all mean to him." Sonata said.
"It was so romantic." Rarity sighs.
"I-I don't mind sharing." Fluttershy said.
"I'll admit it's a really nice having him in my life." Twilight blushes.
"Well this is definitely gonna take some getting used to." Will said.
"I'll say I thought it was possible Luke would pick a girl but we never thought it would be all of you." April said.
"Are you mad?" Luke cringes.
Will and April look to each other and then to Burpy who was there for the whole thing.
Chirping Burpy nods causing Will to smile softly. "Well your judgement has never steered me wrong. I guess I can be fine with this." Will said.
"I can too. At least with all you girls watching him I know my grandson will be safe." April giggles.
"We'll guard him with our lives." Applejack smiles.
"As long as Luke has me he's got nothing to worry about." Rainbow smiles wrapping her arm around his neck.
"Well we just got settled in you girls wanna join us for some take out? I wanna hear everything." April said.
"Well you better order quite a bit, a lot happened this past week." Luke said.
"I got a feeling Eli is gonna wanna hear this." Will said.
As the sun was setting everyone was sitting around with Chinese food at the table and as they ate they told Luke's family all about what happened at Camp Everfree.
"And so when Twilight stole the geodes from Gaea Gloriosa we used them to increase our new powers and pony up." Rainbow said.
"And when it was over we got these cool necklaces." Pinkie said pointing hers.
"Now that is beyond crazy." Kord said on screen.
"So wait Luke you have the power to basically copy your slugs?" Eli asks.
"Pretty much." Luke picks up a Hop Rock and when he did his right arm became covered in stones surprising them.
"Wish I had a skill like that after the Goon took me over." Will mumbles slightly jealous.
"I'm just glad you're all safe and sound." April said.
"Yeah and thanks to us Camp is all better." Rainbow said with a mouthful of fried rice.
"Rainbow Dash, eat or talk darling not both." Rarity said.
"Still when Eli took me to that camp nothing that interesting happened." Trixie said.
"Well you guys didn't have to deal with Equestrian magic." Sonata said before slurping some noodles.
"True, we just had slugs." Eli chuckles.
"Also Luke I am very proud of you." Pronto said as Luke swallowed his food.
"Why's that Uncle Pronto?" Luke asks.
"I knew you would choose Fluttershy to be your future wife. I told you she was perfect for you." Pronto said causing Fluttershy to blush slightly.
"Hey Pronto he chose all of them, not just your favorite." Kord said bonking him on the head.
"Yeah but be picked mine first." Pronto said.
"Actually he went to her 3rd." Eli corrects.
"Oh floppers." Luke groans facepalming while Sunset giggles.
"Is your family always this involved in your social life?" Sunset smirks.
"You have no idea." Luke sighs.
"Well maybe someday you girls will be able to come down to Slugterra. We'd love to see you and your powers in action." Trixie said.
"Maybe, but right now we have other priorities." Sonata said.
"Yeah after we blew up the docks again after fixing it, we finally realized it was better to leave the repairs in the hands of professionals." Applejack said.
"My fault, still working on control." Pinkie said.
"And now we have a few fundraisers to raise the money to pay the guys to fix the whole camp." Twilight said.
"Why is it you guys who's raising the money?" Eli asks.
"We're the ones who kind of wrecked the most of it." Luke cringed.
"Plus after that whole experience giving Gloriosa more work to deal with is not a good idea at the moment." Sonata said.
"Nope." Fluttershy and Applejack said.
"Bad idea." Rarity and Twilight said.
"Horrible idea." Pinkie and Rainbow add.
"Well if you kids can take on that you can raise the money by the deadline." Will said.
"Thanks Grandpa." Luke said before getting up. "I'll be right back I need more water."
As Luke walks away Eli and Trixie look to the girls.
"Now girls, we don't have any problems with Luke's choice but we just want to make sure you're not gonna do anything to hurt him." Trixie said.
"We would never do such a thing Mrs. Shane." Sunset said.
"You girls seem nice and after everything you've all been through we just don't want to have to worry about Luke." Eli said.
"If you knew Luke as well as we do, you'd know he can take care of himself." Rainbow smirks.
"Hey we're family it's our job." Kord chuckles.
"And hopefully someday you'll be." Pronto said when Luke walks in.
"Hey what'd I miss?" Luke asks.
"Just your folks seeing if we're girlfriend material." Pinkie said.
"Really?" Luke rolls his eyes causing them all to laugh.
That night, as most the Rainbooms finished up and went home Sunset was getting up and stretching.
"Well as fun as that was I better get going." Sunset said before looking to the table. "Torch, guys time to go."
Chirping Torch hops in along with her other slugs and they leap into their cannisters by her bags.
"Be back in a sec. Gotta say goodnight." Sunset said walking down the hall.
In the guest room, Sunset saw Sonata was fast asleep tired from a long day.
Chuckling Sunset walked down the hall and saw Luke in his room. "Knock knock." Sunset said getting his attention.
"Hey you." Luke smiles sitting up as she walks in.
"Just wanted to say goodbye before I headed out." Sunset said.
"It's been a wild week but I'm glad it all happened." Luke said.
"Me too." Sunset said sitting down next to him. "If someone told me while I was still in Equestria this would be my life I would have told them they were crazy, but here we are."
"You and I make a great team." Luke smiles.
"Yes we do." Sunset said before pausing. "Hey Luke can I try something?"
"Sure what?" Luke asks.
"What do you think of me?" Sunset asks.
"Uh well. Sunset you're—" As Luke tried to figure out how to say it Sunset touched his hand and suddenly her eyes glowed.
In his mind she saw various memories of him and her together, laughing, having fun and final she sees them kissing at Camp Everfree before zooming out.
"Wow I mean that much?" Sunset asks.
"Did you just use your powers on me?" Luke asks.
"Hmm guilty." Sunset said.
"Why you sneaky little." Luke yanks Sunset into a hug causing them to laugh before she hugs back.
"Oh you." Sunset smiles.
"Me." Luke smiles before kissing her on the lips and she happily returns. "I should have done this a long time ago."
"No kidding." Sunset smirks before bopping him on the nose.
"I guess better late than never." Luke said as they sat up.
"So now that you're basically dating all of us what are you gonna do now?" Sunset asks.
"Oh besides giving you all a nice big hug and kiss everday. I'm also thinking date nights." Luke said.
"Whoa, someone knows how to treat a girl right. You'll still make time for me right?" Sunset asks.
"Always." Luke said as Sunset gave him one more kiss before heading home.
Leaving the house, Sunset looks at her pendant and then to her destiny rose petal.
"Even with all this loose Equestrian magic I finally feel like I don't have to worry as much. I'm actually looking forward to what'll happen next. Wait until Princess Twilight hears about all this." Sunset said walking away.
In Luke's room, Luke was looking at his pendant.
Chirping Burpy lands next to Luke.
"8 girlfriends Burpy. Did dad or grandpa ever deal with something like this?" Luke asks but Burpy shook his head. "Yeah guess I'm just luckier." Luke chuckles.
Laying down Luke closes his eyes happy to be in his own bed and even happier knowing his family didn't mind his new girlfriends situation.
