No One Would Listen

Author's Note: This is a songfic to the song "No One Would Listen" from the 2-disc special edition DVD of Phantom of the Opera, and sung by Gerard Butler. Anyway, it's basically about Erik thinking about Christine, after she's left him for Raoul. Please R&R! I hope you like it!

No One Would Listen

No one would listen

No one but her

Bad as the outcast years

Erik walked around his ruined lair. He knew now that he would never be accepted by anyone but Madame Giry, his one true friend. Even his mother had rejected him, just because of his face! His life had been so depressing before he met Christine.

Shamed into solitude

Shunned by the multitude

I learned to listen

In my dark, my heart heard music

All he had wanted was to be accepted for who he was, and not rejected for his face. Even the woman he loved, Christine Daae, had chosen the Vicomte! Sure, she had kissed him and, in essence, chosen him, but he couldn't handle it, and lost her forever! She had been the only person that he had ever taught to sing, and it was because of him that she ran into Raoul again and fell in love with him! It was all his fault!

I long to teach the world

Rise up and reach the world

No one would listen

I alone could hear the music

When he had started teaching Christine, she had been grateful, even though she thought that he was her father. He loved to hear her sing. She had such a beautiful voice!

Then at last

A voice in the gloom

Seemed to cry, "I hear you!

I hear your fears

Your torment and your tears!"

He had never felt the way he felt about Christine before. All that he had wanted was for her to be with him and love him! He remembered how she had looked after she had unmasked him both times. He never should have gotten mad at her the first time. Besides Madame Giry, Christine had been the only one who had ever been sympathetic to his plight. That was why he had thought that he had found his soul mate.

She saw my loneliness

Shared in my emptiness

No one would listen

No one but her

Bad as the outcast years

He sighed and shook his head. That part of his life was over. He knew that he had to move on. But, he knew that he would never forget Christine, or his feelings for her.

No one would listen

No one but her

Bad as the outcast years

Well? Good? Bad? Let me know! Flames are accepted, but please try not to be too harsh in them. And, as always, constructive criticism is always welcomed! Thanks for taking the time to read it, and please review! Thanks again!
