Plot: It is time for Rose to leave the Doctor, but why does it feel so wrong?

Why did she have to leave him? He knew it had to come sometime, the day they'd say goodbye but why like this?

When he thought about all the places they'd been together, all the creatures they'd met he couldn't believe she was going. Why now, why so soon? They'd just been together for two years and already she was being snatched away from him. The thought was like a dagger to his heart.

He'd almost lost her once before and it had hurt so much he'd used one of his own lives to safe her. If only he could do the same now-he'd risk a thousand if it meant she would be safe. He heard her gasp and he rushed to her side.

A tear ran down his cheek as the truth dawned on him. He was losing her forever-never again would he hear her voice, see her smile, feel her breath.
"Doctor?" she sounded so weak, he couldn't bear it.
"It's okay Rose, you'll be okay." He grabbed her hand and held it close to him
"Doctor I-"
"Don't speak, it will make you weaker."
"Doctor I love you." He stared at her, the tears flooding down his face.
"Rose, I love you too." he leaned down and kissed her cheek. She smiled weakly before giving another gasp.
"Doctor promise me something."
"Anything Rose, what?"
"Never forget me." And with her last gasp she slipped away forever, leaving just a body to be remembered by.
"No, Rose! Rose come on, wake up Rose!" But she never did. He'd lost his best friend forever and nothing in the world could bring her back.

This was my first songfic, I hope you enjoyed it! Please review it, it would mean a lot to me. I know it's a bit short, but I felt if I made it any longer it would ruin the effect. I've been meaning to use that song in a fic for a while, and when I found out about Rose dieing I knew (or hoped) it was perfect, so tell me if you think the song fitted as well. Any advice is welcome and I'll try and reply to all reviews.
