I know this fanfiction's storyline has technically been written already by classicdisneyFTW with their own 'Frozen-2013' fanfiction simply titled 'Face Down', but I wanted to do this fanfiction anyway. I will add a couple of characters and a few plotlines of my own, however, if only to avoid even the slightest bit of 'you-know-what'. I'm even giving this fanfiction its own title of 'Frozen Face Down: A Modern Take on Disney's Frozen 2013' with this one-thousand-five-hundred-fifty-three word chapter I have titled 'Anna and Freya Meet Olaf'.

disclamation: I do not own Disney's Frozen in any way, shape, or form except for owning the film on Bluray and DVD. in terms of the movie's production, however, I'm afraid that all the ownership rights are reserved solely for the folks of the Walt Disney Studios Company down in Los Angeles, California. I do not own any of the characters in this fanfiction either, except for my own OC, Freya Nigari, a friend of Anna's from before the fanfiction's entire storyline ever even happens. I also confess to only owning about five to ten percent of this very fanfiction's storyline, give or take some percentage.

It was Anna Fjordsen's first official day of college at Arendelle University, and she was beyond excited. Ever since her older sister, Elsa, had started attending two years prior, Anna had wanted nothing more than to follow in her sister's footsteps. Tired of being cooped up her entire life and homeschooled throughout high school, Anna finally had a chance to get out and meet real people.

She did not get to live out on her own like Elsa, she still had to live at home. Although, Elsa only got to live on her own because she basically ran away from home and secluded herself. She did so after only her first year of college, though. So of course, Elsa was guaranteed to be a bit distant.

Anna was only allowed to play with certain children throughout her childhood, and only ever made one real friend among such children late into her high school years. Her name was Freya Nigari. She was accompanying Anna on her journey into college as her only friend outside of her sister, Elsa.

Still, at least now Anna would get to meet a lot of new people. "Who knows, Freya?" Anna said. "Maybe, I'll even have a chance to meet the one. I even bet he'll be as amazing as I've always imagined him to be."

"Anna, I know you're excited about this new step in your life," Freya began. "But please, I beg you, do show some caution and carefulness in the real world," Freya finished. Anna liked Freya as a friend, and she was good for Anna to have in her life since she took self-defense lessons her whole life and was even generous enough to teach some Krav Maga moves of hers to Anna. When it came down to it, however, Freya sometimes acted like a second Elsa to Anna, always trying a little too hard to keep Anna safe on her own.

"And I'm begging you to think of your own wants every once in a while. You're too thoughtful, selfless, and protective, Freya, for your own good sometimes," Anna told her friend the truth about how she felt about her protectiveness. Sometimes, it felt just like Elsa never left to live in isolation. "I've never actually been on a date before in my life, Freya."

"I need you to see that that's precisely why I worry about you, Anna," Freya told Anna. "I also worry about you as your friend. It's not like I do this to harass you. I just worry about your safety as a friend in addition to being someone who your parents wanted to watch over you while you're at school."

"I never asked you to take on that life," Anna said. "I know you feel like you owe your life to me and my family, but there's no need to make yourself miserable trying to protect me. Besides, you know better than anyone that I've always loved romance."

Freya could not argue with Anna any further about the subject. "That's true, Anna," Freya sighed happily, yet defeatedly. "I guess that you have to experience and make mistakes in life to learn from them. I guess I just can't protect you forever."

"Oh, Freya, just picture it," Anna started. "I'm standing alone and suddenly come face to face with a tall, handsome stranger from across the room. He walks over finely and suavely, introduces himself to me in a lovely manner. We spend the whole evening laughing and talking. Then, he asks to see me again. And then, after some midnight call-ups, some romantic dinners, and some movie cuddle nights, he eventually proposes to me on bended knee, declaring his eternal love for me. Then, we get married in the mountains under the colorful sunset with that pine tree scent and fresh mountain air."

"That's a pretty specific way to imagine your dating life, Anna," Freya said, uncertain of what to think of her friend's sudden urge to live that dream life. "Let's get back to our schedule, though, shall we?" Freya asked afterwards in an attempt to get Anna's mind back to her school life.

Anna had completely forgotten what she and Freya were there for in the first place. "Our schedule?" Anna asked. Suddenly, it struck her that she was actually supposed to be attending Arendelle University to study. "OH, right! Our school schedule. Silly me." Anna embarrassedly tried to laugh it off as Freya just amusedly shook her head and handed Anna the slip of paper that held their joint schedule.

"Let's see who we have first," Freya said.

"Looks like it's Economics 101 at ten a.m. with Professor… Weaseltown?" Anna questioned herself.

"Is that even a real name for a professor?" Freya asked.

"It's, uh, actually Weselton, girls," a voice corrected them from behind.

Both of them stared at one another and turned around only to find no one there. "Pssst, down here," The voice said again. Anna and Freya looked downwards to find a small, sort of pudgy young man who looked like he had never even once seen the sun a day in his life. He grinned up a storm of smiling as Anna and Freya looked down at him. He also had a small white satchel bag over his shoulders.

"Aw, don't worry, ladies," the kid said. "Everyone does it. Just don't ever call him that to his face."

"OH, thanks for the warning," Anna said to the kid.

"Yeah, he'd get sooooooo mad if he heard you call him that," the kid told the two of them. "One time he actually threw his toupee at this guy just for calling him by that name."

"He wears a toupee?" Anna asked, laughing at the mention of it. Freya soon joined in with her own laughter.

"That's messed up, dude," Freya told the kid her opinion about it. "Duly noted. I solemnly promise I will never call that particular professor 'Weaseltown' or make fun of his toupee to his face, but that won't do anything to change the fact that both of those traits are so messed up." Anna And Freya laughed up a storm with this kid. "NO doubt, You're gonna be a perfect storm of fun in our university lives, my good man," Freya finally finished.

"I'm Olaf, by the way," the kid introduced himself.

Anna and Freya took turns introducing themselves in return. Anna went first. "I'm Anna," she said.

"The Name's Freya," Freya introduced herself.

"Hi, Anna and Freya," Olaf said in elation. They both held out their hands for introduction. "OK, OK, girls. First thing to know about me is that I like warm hugs," he said tilting his head and looking at Anna with bright eyes. Freya was unsure what to think of this concept. She was also a little scared by it.

"Oh, OK. Have at it," Anna said, welcoming him with her arms spread out wide.

Olaf happily wrapped his arms around Anna's middle and squeezed. Anna gave him a friendly smile. He barely even came up to her chin. He was a little, pudgy kid who just loved everybody. Then, he let her go.

Freya became a little less skittish about touching him after seeing his display of affection with Anna end on a friendly note, so she could not help but let a small smile cross her face.

"And, Freya, would you like one, too?" Olaf asked the ivory-skinned, raven-haired, amethyst-eyed girl.

"I was a little nervous about the very idea at first," Freya answered honestly. "But, I guess you gotta start a friendship somewhere. My only condition is that I be the one who hugs you," she said as she went to him.

Then after a few minutes, Freya finally let him go. "Well, as much as I'd like to stay here and make friends, Anna and I do have a class to get to," she said after letting Olaf go. "Thank you so much for the warning about, pardon my French, 'Weaseltown'. You're welcome in our lives any day of the week, Olaf."

"It was nice to meet you, too, Freya. You too, Anna," Olaf said in elation.

"You too, Olaf. Um, we'll see you around, I guess," Anna told him as she and Freya headed on their way to their class. "And thanks again for the warning about you know who."

"It was no problem at all," Olaf said as he trotted off. "Bye-bye, you two!" he hollered from across the hall. He practically skipped away.

"Well, he was certainly friendly," Freya said. "I'm kinda envious that he could openly trust not just one, but two total strangers enough to wanna hug them upon the first meeting. Still, he was nice and friendly enough to win my friendship easily. Not a lot of people are like that."

"I know, right?" Anna asked her friend. "He was real happy and nice. I hope there's more at this school like him."

"Well, time to exchange the friendliness that is Olaf for the much dreaded hostility disguised as a so-called lecture that is 'Weaseltown', I mean 'Weselton'," Freya said, mentioning Weselton's name sarcastically.
