God's Game – The First Inheritor

Summary: I was hyped when I learned I was getting Isekai'd, wondering what cool power I'd get to help me fuck shit up. Instead, I ended up an orphan in Italy, with no powers of my own to help me survive in the world of Devils, Angels, and Tits… But just because I wasn't sent to the world with power, doesn't mean I could obtain it after. 'Welcome to the Game.' SI/Gamer OC

III: Getting Settled

We immediately ran into our first issue when we were planning out my adoption: Irene had no records in this world.

Thankfully, this was made a non-issue as Irene knew hypnotism magic. It was apparently a staple magic to learn for royalty, as they might sometimes need it in order to get information out of assassins or corrupt nobles. By hypnotising people in the right places, we'd be able to get her some ID and history.

Next was the issue of a house. I might have 10,000 Euros, and that might be enough to rent a place somewhere, but houses in Rome were expensive, and a measly 10k wasn't going to cut it on that front. We discussed what to do for a while, before we ultimately decided we'd just have to hypnotise someone that was selling a house into letting us have it.

Neither Irene nor I were exactly comfortable doing it, but we didn't have much choice. She was in a foreign world with no money or identity to work with, and I was an Orphan. We'd have to make do with what we could and be careful too. We couldn't have the church knocking on our door because things didn't add up.

The two of us decided to part for a few days. She'd be going about creating an identity and getting everything, she needed to fit into this world, as well as getting our house and casting spells to improve and hide it from the eyes of others and make it suitable for training.

She smiled and ruffled my hair as we stood at the entrance of the building, ignoring the dead bodies behind us. "I'll see you soon," she told me, flicking a finger at me as a pale glow surrounded me before dying down.

You have obtained the Status Condition 'Suppression.' All traces of you shall be ignored and unnoticed. Time limit: 10 minutes.

"What was that?" I asked her, feigning ignorance.

"A spell that will hide you from the supernatural as you leave, so people don't connect you back to this," she gestured around the building. "Be safe, and don't do anything reckless, okay?"

I nodded at her words. "I'll see you soon, Irene," I gave her a slight smile before I headed out of the building with her, though she headed the opposite direction of the orphanage.

'How does she know so many magics already?' I couldn't help but think to myself. 'I thought she only learned those after becoming the Scarlet Despair…'

That is because of her growth rate, Tony.

I raised an eye at Rhea's voice. 'Growth Rate? What do you mean?'

Every person in this world has something called a growth rate, something that determines how fast they will grow in strength. For example, Sirzechs Lucifer is renown as a monster because of how powerful he is. His growth rate would be considered at Legendary, bordering on Godly. Whereas someone like Rias Gremory would be considered as having a rare growth rate. The higher your growth rate, the more powerful you become faster.

'That kind of makes sense…? How high would you measure Issei's growth rate then?'

Godly.

I stopped in place, eyes widening. 'Wait, what?'

Within only a year, less than truthfully, he went from being an ordinary human to matching and even being able to help kill Rizevim Lucifer, who was on the level of a Super Devil. In addition to that, he himself becomes considered a Super Devil in less than two years. In just that time, he accomplishes what took Sirzechs Lucifer and other Super Devils hundreds of years to achieve in just two.

… Well… Shit. When she put it like that, I couldn't disagree with her. It also meant I'd have to deal with Issei sooner than I thought, before he started obtaining bullshit power. 'What's my growth rate?'

Simply by having the System, your growth rate is also Godly. After all, it is called the 'God System,' and you can learn and master abilities that some would take years to master in little to no time at all.

That spoke volumes about how powerful the system was… But also spoke volumes at just how powerful the Trihexa was, if it weakened God enough that he died fighting the Four Great Satans.

I wanted to ask what the growth rate of the Trihexa was, but honestly I was afraid to ask. If God's growth rate was Godly, and he'd been alive for hundreds, if not thousands or millions or billions of years, then just how fast was Trihexa's growth?

'What was my growth rate before I got the system?'

Common.

… That explained a lot. Considering I was training every day since I was 7, I should probably have been a lot higher if I'd had any other form of growth rate.

'Right, then what's Irene's growth rate?'

Her growth rate would be something on par with Sirzechs Lucifer, if not lower. I cannot be a hundred percent certain as they would certainly be changes between worlds given she died instead of living, but I would say at least Legendary. Low Legendary to potentially Godly.

I only nodded. Considering the accomplishments of Irene, including being able to restructure an entire continent- potentially more, it wasn't really elaborated too much- then her having godly growth would make sense, legendary was honestly probably lowballing it.

Which meant she probably learned magic incredibly quickly too, she probably blew through all her lessons as a child, hence why she knows so much magic even before becoming the Scarlet Despair. It wouldn't surprise me if she became a magic researcher and found a way to stop Dragonification on her own…

But why wouldn't she have learned how to stop being a dragon before, if that was the case? The answer quickly become clear to me though, Irene was only researching how to become human again. She wasn't researching how to stop the Dragonification process simply because there would be no point with it already complete. And as she was now, she didn't know transformation magic, and it wasn't like she could just go up to a human and ask 'hey, teach me how to transform' as a dragon, not with how she was seen as an enemy of humanity while she was still turning into a dragon and let alone after becoming one.

I made my way into the orphanage, heading to the rooms and once again ignoring everyone as I made my way to my bed and took a seat, grabbing my book and opening it. 'Bring up my stats.'

Name: Antonio Bianchi
Race: Human
Title: None
Level: 13
HP: 150/150 [30 per minute]
MP: 240/240 [105 per minute]
STR: 10
VIT: 15
INT: 24
WIS: 21
DEX: 10
LUK: 12
Stat Points: 30
Current A.I: Rhea (Fire Emblem)
Money: 10,000 Euros

'Right… I'll hold off on using my Stat Points on stats that are easier to build up, especially since I saw INT and WIS go up after the dungeon from using magic. Instead, I'll put 8 points into LUK to round it out at 20, and clear that requirement for my 'Become Supernatural' quest.'

I lay down as I watched my LUK rise to 20 points. Now, I just had to hit Level 20 and get my three physical stats up to 20 in order to clear the main requirements for the quest. Then, I'd have to make a decision on the split objective.

Speaking of, I had to start thinking about that. Joining any faction besides the Youkai or one of the biblical factions wasn't a decision for me, not really. I wanted to be involved with the plot as soon as possible, that meant being part of one of those three factions, the Youkai would act as a back-up.

The church was probably out for me. Too corrupt, too willing to make good people suffer if they don't align with their beliefs, and too willing to excommunicate anyone who knows the truth about God's death. Xenovia was one of their best upcoming Exorcists that was chosen by Durandal, and yet she was kicked from the church just because she learned about God's death.

More than that, Xenovia's guardian- Griselda- was supposed to be one of the top Exorcists of the church and was also part of Gabriel's Brave Saints- though I didn't know if that had come yet in the timeline- and it allegedly seemed like she wasn't able to do anything to stop Xenovia's excommunication. Brutal, and also completely stupid on the church's part if you asked me.

I mean, come on! Excommunicating people because they learned of God's death? That's like begging for people to go 'hey, that's weird, why'd they randomly get kicked?' After excommunication, the church had 0 power over them. That meant that it would be easy for them to sell the word of God's death to other factions, making it easier for the angels to be attacked and taken over.

Just completely fucking ridiculous.

The fallen were also out, but only so long as Kokabiel was part of the faction. I had no interest in joining up while that Warmonger still had so much power, and the ability to make changes as he liked. When the time came, if I was strong enough, I would make sure to put him down like the rabid dog he was.

Plus, Azazel was also way too laid back as a leader, content to let his subordinates run around and do whatever they liked. In almost every fanfic I read, the Fallen were the most unanimously disliked faction among the Biblical Trio. Part of that was due to Azazel's inability to get his subordinates in line, because the man was so focused on his research and nothing else. Hell, he didn't know that Vali had joined a fucking terrorist organisation right under his god damned nose!

Which kind of vaguely reminded me, I wanted to save Raynare and have her join me if I could… That meant I'd definitely have to be in Kuoh when I turned 17, to make sure Rias didn't kill her.

Joining the devils was… Conflicting. On one hand, many of the series main characters were devils, and a lot of them were smoking hot. Sona was a particular favourite of mine, because her body wasn't ridiculously out of proportion, and because I found glasses hot… Even though she probably didn't need them.

But on the other hand, the Devil Faction had a lot of issues internally that the Satans were either ignorant of, or deliberately chose not to resolve. Like the Great King Faction controlling the rating games through the King Pieces, and all the Old Satan sympathisers among them.

God, Diodora was a whole fucking issue and a half. There was no way in hell that someone didn't suspect that prick was doing some freaky ass shit, given there must be some kind of sign or pattern of Holy Maidens going missing. And there's no way Ajuka, a relative, didn't know what Diodora was doing.

If he didn't know what Diodora was doing, then that just made him a failure as a leader for letting something happen right under his nose.

Not to mention how the four Satans honestly just seemed like figureheads to me. 'Permission?' What fucking permission, why should they have to listen to a council? Why are Devils a democracy? If I was Sirzechs, I would flex my power and make it clear that I was the one in charge, consequences be damned!

The four Satans were great fighters, but only Serafall and Ajuka seemed to know how to deal with politics to get what they wanted. Well, Falbium probably could for all I knew, but he never showed up all that much and was very lazy. Sirzechs was the one who needed to get his shit together.

Granted, I didn't hate Sirzechs despite how I made it sound. It's just that for the so called strongest Satan, he just seemed kind of lacklustre? A bit of a pushover, and fanfictions really made the Satans out to be more like figureheads which I thought was ridiculous. While all those nobles were sitting with their thumbs up their asses, the Satans were fighting in the Civil War to create a better Underworld, and yet they seemed to be figureheads.

Fucking ridiculous.

I let out a sigh, annoyed with myself for getting myself worked up when I was trying to get some sleep. 'Rhea, are you able to play some soothing music to help me sleep?'

But of course, what would you like?

'Bamboo Flute Music.'

Instantly, the soothing sound of a flute entered my ears. My eyes closed, and the world went black as I faded into the realm of dreams.

~~God's Game~~

Daily Quest [Working Out] has been cleared.
+3 STR. +4 DEX. +3 VIT.
+1 Gacha Token (Common)

I sat down in the living room of the new house Irene had bought, smiling as I drank my water.

It had been about 3 days since I'd cleared the dungeon and started receiving daily quests. Irene had come by to adopt me on the second day, which surprised me as I thought it would take much longer.

Woman was a natural born actor, even I believed she was genuinely just a woman looking for a child to call her own for a moment. The way her eyes lit up when she'd soon as she'd seen me, the emotion she'd managed to put in as if she made her choice as soon as our eyes met… Just damn.

After adoption, Irene led me to our new house. It was just as I'd hoped, average sized, nothing too impressive on the outside. But the inside was decorated beautifully, it gave off a very 'home' vibe and it made me relaxed as soon as I walked through the doors.

It was just what I'd hoped for and more, complete with a gym with training equipment to help with working out, an underground training room, and plenty of other helpful things.

Before and after the adoption, I'd put my focus on the daily quests, and experimented a bit. It looked as though daily quests gave better rewards depending on the insanity of what I did.

If I got my work out done quickly by rushing through it and being more intense with it, then I got better rewards. If I did it slowly, took it nice and easy, I got lower rewards. Same with another Daily Quest for studying, the longer I studied, and the more I was able to understand the material, the better the rewards.

The Daily Quests also seemed to be steadily increasing so that it did push me, such as getting more push ups and sit ups, and running for a longer distance.

Gacha tokens were very consistent though. One common token from each daily quest, two quests a day, meaning I had 11 common ones now, though I would hold off on exchanging them or rolling with them. I'd rather get uncommon tokens at the very least, or else I'd probably end up rolling something like a ballpoint pen.

I'd also been working on levelling up my skills like Sneak and Aura Suppression. Aura Suppression was easy, I just kept it active, and it levelled up on its own. Sneak was a bit harder to level up, since it required me to actually act as if I was sneaking about or trying to go unnoticed, and I had to be around someone to do it.

Still, I'd made the most of the last three days, and now Sneak was up to Level 12, while Aura Suppression was at Level 20. Though when it hit Level 20, a description of Aura Suppression changed. It was now a chance that people would believe I was weaker than I really was, rather than just believing me to be a normal human.

I was confused about it, but Rhea just explained that it was a minor system change as otherwise- once I got it to 100- everyone would believe I was a normal human, which would be very strange for their psyches.

I hadn't touched my Dragon Slaying abilities, I hadn't quite wanted to risk enhancing the process of Dragonification. And besides, it was better to wait until I could get some proper training in together with Irene. I couldn't wait to start using the sparring system to hopefully increase my mastery of my skills and increase my stats. But Irene was busy researching how to convert the magic of Dragons into anti-bodies in order to prevent her own Dragonification.

I took another swig of water, stretching and letting out satisfied groans as I heard a few satisfying cracks. Very relieving to have those all go at once.

I turned on the TV, but honestly I wasn't really paying all that much attention. Instead, I was thinking about Irene. I knew she was strong, but just how strong? I didn't have an 'observe' skill like most gamer systems did, so I had no way of telling just how powerful she was.

'Say, Rhea, are you able to bring up Irene's stats for me?'

But of course, she is one of your companions after all. Would you like me to bring up her stats?

'Please do, I'm very curious.'

Name: Irene Belserion
Race: Human (Dragon-Blooded)
Title: Queen of Dragons
Level: 90
HP: 26,130
MP: 189,300
STR: 636
VIT: 871
INT: 1,893
WIS: 1,218
DEX: 722
LUK: 271

My eyes widened in shock.

What the fuck were those stats!? Over 20K HP, and almost 200K MP!? What kind of monster was Irene Belserion!?

The HP comes from her dragon physiology as the Dragon Seed begins to sprout within her, increasing her amount of total health with a further multiplier. And her abilities as a Sage Dragon Slayer grants her magic a further multiplier, allowing for the ridiculous amount of MP you see.

… Holy fucking shit.

Even if I did join the Devils, there'd be no way I'd be able to revive Irene without a mutation piece. Those stats were the most insane fucking thing I'd ever seen in my life.

Well, I didn't really plan to join the devils anyway. Become their allies? Absolutely, but join them? Probably not, even if the extended lifespan was worth it.

Even then, this was called the God System for a reason. A form of immortality or longevity was likely well within my grasp, so there was no need to join the devils for something I'd be able to get in time anyway.

I ran a hand through my hair and sprawled on the couch lazily, pulling out my phone and starting to read some 'Gohan goes to Capsule Corp' stories while the TV played in the background. Some were better than others, and others were horrendously bad. I was glad that this version of DxD, at least, used the proper names of anime from my world. I don't think I'd be able to watch 'Drag-so Ball' without commenting on how stupid that name was every 5 minutes.

My ears perked up as I looked up at Irene coming down the stairs, clad in a long black skirt and a red shirt. "Morning," I greeted her.

"Good morning to you too," she greeted me, heading to the kitchen and starting to cook.

"Made any progress yet?"

"I just began," she told me. "It takes longer than a single day to make progress on how to create anti-bodies. I will not become a dragon if I can help it."

"Does that mean you won't train me until you figure it out?"

"Of course, I'll train you, I just won't be using my dragon slaying magic. It won't be a simple matter though, I'm certain your magic is very different than mine… What did you say your slayer magic was again?"

"Venom," I supplied.

"A poisonous dragon…" She hummed. "One of the more fatal ones, a strong enough poison would be able to kill any dragon if given enough time… Yes, I think I know how to teach you."

"How?"

"Very carefully and aggressively."

… Well, that didn't re-assure me at all.

"Please be gentle with me?" I begged.

She laughed lightly, looking at me with a smirk. "No."

~~God's Game~~

You have completed a sparring session with Irene Belserion.

You have levelled up x3
+13 STR. +17 VIT. +10 DEX. +9 INT. +14 WIS. +5 LUK.
[Venom Dragon Slayer Magic] has levelled up x9
[Poison Magic Proficiency] has levelled up x6
[Poison Resistance] has levelled up x15

I breathed heavily on the ground, completely covered in sweat, staring up at the ceiling as every single muscle in my body ached from strain.

Irene Belserion was a monster. She had tossed me around like I was nothing and, whenever my magic ran out, she used her own magic to restore mine and then made me keep fighting. Whenever my health got too low, she would heal me and make me keep fighting.

In just one training session she'd successfully made me increase 3 levels and made all my stats save INT and LUK increase by 10 points, which was enough to push the rest of my stats over the 20 point barrier needed for the 'Become Supernatural' Quest. Now all I was lacking were the last 4 levels to hit 20, and then to join a faction.

But I couldn't think about that right now, because the only thing in my thoughts was, 'Uuuggggghhhhh!'

Irene stood nearby, an eyebrow raised as she looked at me. "Hm, that was enough to wear you out? It seems I'll have to work on building up your stamina, we only trained for 2 hours."

"Only…?" I groaned out as my body trembled in agony.

"If this is the standard for Dragon Slayers now, I'm very disappointed," she said dismissively. "Are you sure you aren't a gecko slayer?"

"I hate you…"

"No, you don't," Irene smiled, making her way over to me. She knelt down, carefully lifting my head and resting it on her lap.

"Irene…?"

She gently began to stroke my head. "You did very good today, Tony," she told me. "I know I was a bit rough with training, but I'm glad to see you didn't complain once during it and went through everything I set up to train you."

"You literally threw poison at me to increase my resistance to it…" I groaned.

"It worked, didn't it?"

"Besides the point."

She chuckled softly and smiled down at me. "I am sorry, though not as much as you'd probably like. This modern era is very… Different to what I'm used to, and as such I'm acting within the bounds of the logic of my time. So, I'm sorry if my training is a bit rough, but I only have the best of intentions for you."

"… I know," I sighed, unable to really bring myself to feel mad at her. "And I'm sorry if I end up coming off as an annoying shit sometimes, but I want you to know that the only reason I bitch is because I care. It's my way of showing affection."

+5 Affection with Irene Belserion (15/100).

Irene's smile grew warmer. "So, what are the plans for the foreseeable future?"

I considered my words before I spoke, "First, I want to get stronger," I told her. "And I want to start clearing out corrupt areas in the city. Remember how when I summoned you, we walked past a lot of dead bodies? All stray exorcists and corrupt priests looking to wage war against the church. I'm no fan of the church, but I want to prevent any possible unneeded deaths, and I'm sure there are more hide outs or more corrupt places in the city. I wanna clear them out, but I want to do so in such a way that the most people know is that there are new supernatural people in the city."

She considered that before she nodded. "Yes, that makes sense. Clearing away the taint from the church would make it possible to become allies with them in the future. What's your next step?"

I hummed in thought. "After we do that, we have a choice of three groups to join: the Church, Fallen Angels, or the Devils."

"Pros and cons?"

"The church is probably the worst choice," I sighed. "They're incredibly racist to anything not human or angel in my personal view, and they're incredibly rude if you aren't Christian, calling your gods or beliefs 'foreign' or a devil worshipper. They also don't discriminate or care about circumstances for the most part, if you're not with them, you are against them."

"… That's very extreme," Irene said, looking a bit disturbed.

"Well, how do you think the churches in your world would react if they knew the deity they worshipped was real, along with all his creations?"

"Point," she nodded.

"Honestly I can't see many pros in teaming up with the church," besides how fucking gorgeous some of the girls were. "There's also the issue that their God is dead."

"What!?" Her eyes widened.

"Oh, right," I blinked. "Er, yeah, their god died in a great war they had with devils and fallen angels, but it's very hushed up so only the major players of all the factions know. The main reason I know is because I've observed other timelines of this world-" aka, watched the anime and read fanfics "- and their God is basically always dead throughout them."

"What was strong enough to kill a God?" She asked. From her perspective, I could get it. Dragons were one thing, but I was talking about an actual god was another thing entirely.

"He died fighting the Four Demon Lords," I told her. "He was greatly weakened from sealing away a powerful beast, and that's all I'll say about that."

She took a deep breath. "Okay… Their God is dead then, how do they operate?"

"From what I know, their lead Archangel has taken over the operations of Heaven and maintaining their power," I told her. "He's doing his best, but he's not God and he's not all-knowing like his father allegedly is. As a result, the church has become riddled with a lot of corruption and bad people, and he's been so focused on Heaven that he's done nothing to stop it."

Irene shook her head, sighing. "Yes, the church is definitely out. Next then?"

"The Fallen," I told her. "This one is a mixed bag. The Fallen have a pretty bad reputation among the Biblical Trio- Angels, Fallen, and Devils. The main issue is that their leader is very dedicated to his research of the 'godly gifts' his dad created called Sacred Gears, I'll talk about those later. As a result, he almost completely neglects the rest of his work and just lets his subordinates run wild and free to do whatever they want. From what I know, a lot of supernatural factions strongly dislike if not outright hate the fallen due to the chaos they end up spreading. Doesn't help that one of their leaders is a warmonger either."

"So, two of our options are religious zealots who fully believe they're justified, and a group with a failure of a leader, and another leader who is craving to restart the 'Great War' you mentioned," Irene shook her head, disappointed. "And lastly?"

"The Devils," I sighed. "This one is, shockingly, the most stable of the bunch. Despite being called Devils, they don't steal souls, or anything like in legends. In fact, that's been outlawed for years. Instead, they just perform mundane tasks for a monetary value and a small increase to their power. That being said, Devils are probably the most hated among the Biblical Trio."

"Really? Why?"

"Evil Pieces," I sighed. "After the Great War, Devils went through a Civil War between two groups, the 'Old Satan Faction,' and the 'New Satan Faction.' The Old Satans wanted to keep acting as devils did, being general bastards, taking souls, making twisted deals and such. The New Satans were tied of that and wanted to look towards the future and become better. The New Satans won, but as a result of two wards they lost over half of the 72 Pillars- the 72 demon families that ran the underworld- and were dangerously low on numbers.

"So, to counteract this, one of the New Demon Lords- Ajuka Beelzebub- created a reincarnation system based on chess called the Evil Piece System. It allows a Devil to revive another being- no matter the race- as an indentured servant to them. That servant can then work their way up to a high class devil, receive their own Evil Piece set, and the cycle begins anew. The issue is that it doesn't have to be consensual, so a lot of people can end up reincarnated against their will."

"That's awful," Irene whispered. "Can the devils reincarnated against their will leave?"

"Yes," I sighed. "But it doesn't help… When a devil abandons their master, they become something known as a 'Stray Devil,' and… It causes a reaction within the evil piece that drives the devil mad, and turns them into a grotesque, disgusting monster that only wants to feed and become more powerful."

"So, the options you've set out for us are zealots, lazy leaders, or 'leave us and we'll drive you crazy,'" she asked flatly.

"I know," I sighed. "But at least with the Devils, if you find a good family then they won't treat you like servants and actually treat you like family."

"That's something at least, but not something I'm going to get on board with," she told me. "We don't have any other options?"

"Nothing majorly reasonable that comes to mind at the moment," I told her. "I'll think on it some more and see what I can come up with, we do have time to decide after all."

"Good, this is something that shouldn't be a snap decision," Irene nodded, before she lifted me up.

"Wha- hey!" I complained. "What are you doing!?"

"Taking you to lay down somewhere comfortable," she told me.

"I- I can walk on my own!"

"Can you?"

"Yes!"

"Okay," she set me down on my feet, and I stumbled. "Are you sure that you're sure?"

"Y- yes," I groaned as I stumbled up the stairs to the living room, while she followed behind me. I could feel her amused smile the whole way before I flopped onto the sofa, groaning.

She only smiled. "So, putting aside the 'joining a group' thing, which place are you planning to target next?"

'That's a good question, Rhea please mark the lowest level dungeon on my map.'

There was a small ping, my eyes flicking to the dungeon's placement on my mini map. It was a bit further out from where I lived with Irene, away from the Vatican. That honestly made me relax a bit, I wasn't entirely comfortable operating so close to the Vatican yet.

"There's a place not far from us that I plan to hit," I told her. "I'll check it out soon and, if I need your help, I'll give you a call. If I don't call, then I'll probably have dealt with it myself and will tell you about it when I get back."

"Just be careful," she told me. "And don't get cocky either. You've only been training with me for one day, and I'd rather not lose my student because they got too overconfident."

"I will, promise," I told her. "… Once it doesn't hurt to walk."

Irene only giggled softly.
