God's Game – The First Inheritor
Summary: I was hyped when I learned I was getting Isekai'd, wondering what cool power I'd get to help me fuck shit up. Instead, I ended up an orphan in Italy, with no powers of my own to help me survive in the world of Devils, Angels, and Tits… But just because I wasn't sent to the world with power, doesn't mean I could obtain it after. 'Welcome to the Game.' SI/Gamer OC
V: Trouble Brewing
Despite our agreement to deal with the bases of Inimicus Dei, Irene and I didn't right away for a pretty simple reason.
School.
I'd been allowed to have a few days off to settle in for my new adoption, but that time limit was over, and I was going to have to go back.
I really didn't want to- given I'd already learned everything in my past life, so school wasn't exactly hard- but Irene insisted I should go. She believed it would be good for me to go out and relax at school, remove some stress from my shoulders.
I objected, of course, but Irene was adamant. She told me that even she was planning to pick up a proper hobby, like she'd had before she died. When I asked what her hobby was, she just gave me a smile that made my shine shudder before I retracted the question.
If she was anything like her daughter, then she might be into some shit. And I wanted no part of it.
So, I just decided to give in. School would be needed if I wanted a job in the future anyway, even if the supernatural world tended to skirt around the need for that.
I fiddled with a necklace around my neck- the only memento I had of my parents. I didn't 'awaken' in this body until I was about 3 or 4, and I had no memories of my parents either. The only thing I had of them was the necklace I was wearing: a black ring with a silver dragon running along it on a chain. Inside the ring the letters 'I. S. D. C.' were engraved, though I had no idea what they stood for.
I didn't really wear the ring; it was too big for my fingers when I was a kid, and I wasn't really interested in wearing it now. Even so, I took it with me everywhere, I never took it off for any reason.
I had debated on checking it with the System, but I ultimately decided against it. There was something… Romantic to me about it being the memento of my parents, of having no idea who they were with this ring being the only thing I had of them.
Was it stupid of me? Probably.
Was it silly? Almost definitely.
Did I care? No.
I shook my head and sighed softly, pushing those thoughts of my mind as I instead focused on the issue at hand as I fiddled with my ring: school.
The school I attended was a decent public school that mostly had orphans attending, about 80% of the students were orphans, with the remaining 20% being from actual families. From what I knew, it was a school funded by both the Italian Government, and by the Vatican.
It wasn't a bad school by any means, considering that most people didn't really care all that much about orphans from my personal experience. I just had no interest in school, and it would have definitely made the rounds that I'd been adopted. The fact I was a loner on top of that would just be attracting the wrong kinds of attention.
And indeed, as soon as I was spotted, the whispers began to spread throughout the school about me. To be fair, they weren't wrong in their jealousy. I was anti-social; hell, the System knew I was for Michael's sake. So, naturally, people were going to be jealous when the anti-social butterfly got adopted before they did.
I sighed as I slipped into class, heading to my usual seat and easing in. I took out my textbook from my bag, along with my pen and wrote down the date, ready to start taking notes when it began.
"Buon giorno, Tony," I heard a voice speak, and I looked up to see Emilia standing in front of my desk with a kind smile.
Why the hell was she talking to me?
"Buon giorno, Emilia," I greeted her back, being polite.
"Didn't I tell you to call me Emi on the class trip?" She asked rhetorically.
Did she? … Come to think of it, she did, but I hadn't wanted to use such a personal name… Where people could hear us.
"Sorry, Emi," I told her. "We didn't really talk much so I never got into the habit of using it."
She waved it off. "It's fine. I heard you got adopted recently, congratulations," she gave me a genuine smile.
"Thank you, I was really happy when she chose me. There was just a connection between us, and she refused to take no for an answer when the matron tried to subtly point her towards 'better' kids."
"Did you get adopted as a sibling, or a child? Of course, you don't have to tell me."
"Child," I answered. "It's not a secret. She let me keep my last name though, she doesn't want to force me to take her last name if I don't want it."
Plus, Antonio Belserion just didn't roll off the tongue as well as Antonio Bianchi did.
"I see," she smiled lightly. "I'm happy for you."
"Thank you, again," I responded, giving her a brief smile.
+5 Affection with Emilia Romano (10/100)
Wait what? Why?
"Say, can I have your phone number?" She asked me, making my body freeze in place in pure surprise.
"What? I mean, I don't mind but like… Why?"
"So, we can hang out," she smiled. "That's what friends do, after all."
"… Friends?" I asked her. "We're friends?"
"Well, I'd like to be," she told me. "Is that okay with you?"
"I do feel a bit strong-armed. If I say no, I feel like my life at school will be over in more ways than one."
She gave a small grimace. "I'm not meaning to strong-arm you or anything, honest."
"How about we just settle on acquaintances, and then we'll see if you get upgraded to friend after we hang out a bit. Deal?"
She giggled in soft amusement. "Deal," she agreed, pulling out her phone as I pulled out mine.
We exchanged phone numbers, and I felt numerous glares aimed at me as Emilia smiled. "I'll text you," she told me.
I nodded in agreement. "Sounds good to me, I'll look forward to it."
She smiled and nodded, heading to her seat and waiting for class to start.
Not bad at all, I just came back to school, and it seems I'd made a new friend. Maybe my luck was turning around?
Due to the trait [Isekai'd Soul], -5 Affection with Emilia Romano (5/100)
… D… Did the system wait to tell me that?
Dramatic timing is important, Tony.
But wait… If my reputation dropped thanks to Isekai'd soul, didn't that mean…?
Yes. She is supernatural.
Shit.
~~God's Game~~
"So, let me see if I understand this," Irene said slowly. "The girl you first met during your school trip that led to you unlocking your magical abilities, you now have discovered is supernatural?"
"Yes," I sighed. "It was very brief, but I felt her aura flare in the classroom, I think she might have been prodding to see if I was supernatural. She didn't make a move at all, that's what makes me the most nervous."
"Do you want me to arrange for a transfer?"
"No," I shook my head quickly. "Right now, I don't know if she suspects, knows, or is guessing. But transferring would be like screaming 'I'm supernatural.' And I'm not fully ready to step into that world, not until we've at least cleared out the town of Inimicus Dei."
She took a breath and sipped her tea. "Things just cannot be simple around you, can they?"
"Annoyingly, no. No, they can't," I sighed. "We'll have to make the most of it though. Like I said, we can't transfer me out, I'll just have to act normal in school. Shouldn't be too hard, unless I learn one of them is part of Inimicus Dei or the Church. Then things will get annoying."
She gave a short nod, a considerate look on her face. "So, what do we do now then?" She asked me.
"Keep up the training, and start hitting hideouts," I told her. "We have no information beyond what we've found, and until I have a concrete plan I want to avoid the church as much as possible…"
I knew fanfictions couldn't be used as justification for a lot of things that may or may not exist in this world, but I had to remember that this was already definitely not the canon DxD world simply because I existed within it, and something like Inimicus Dei would surely have been mentioned at least in passing if they were canon.
I had to assume and guess, and fanfiction knowledge was honestly going to be a good friend here since it would let me consider different possibilities.
And fanfiction knowledge, as well as canon knowledge, told me the Church was honestly so corrupt at times that the Heaven Faction might as well be considered a separate group to the church. That meant I wouldn't trust any church members as far as I could throw them, and I wanted to avoid them as much as possible.
The church, for preaching forgiveness, was perhaps the most racist of the three biblical groups. If you weren't an exorcist or an innocent bystander of a human, you were an enemy. And if you weren't Christian, then you were a 'heathen.' Hell, in canon Xenovia and Irina discuss potentially shaking down some people in Japan because Irina blew all their money on a fake painting, and they justified it as 'they're heathens, it's fine.'
"You mentioned it before, but is the church really that corrupt?" She asked me.
"I've seen a timeline where a young girl is excommunicated from the church for healing a devil, despite not knowing the person in question was a devil, just that someone injured was in front of her and needed help," I told her. "Also, that Devil appeared in the heart of the Vatican, where not even one of the four devil kings would be able to go without repercussions."
"So, the only way someone could get in would be…" Irene nodded. "Yes, very corrupt. Okay, I'll follow your lead then. You're the expert in this world, after all."
I gave a nod, leaning back in my seat. 'Rhea, mark the next dungeon on the map.'
A ping sounded. This one was pretty far away, on the edges of the city. It must have been important if it was stationed so far away from the Vatican, compared to the rest which were still relatively close.
"I've got their bases all mapped out," I told her. "The next one I'm planning to hit is pretty far, on the outskirts of the city. I figure, if it's so far from the Vatican, it must be pretty important to them."
She gave a nod. "Would you like me to come with you this time?"
"Yes. They have someone who could probably take me out with ease, I can't match them if they show up in that base. You, on the other hand, should be able to handle them if they're there. My only concern is our identities need to be secret, at least for now…"
Actually, come to think of it, the Hollow Mask fake worked rather well… 'Rhea, bring up the cost of Lisa's Hollow Mask, fake just like mine is.'
Lisa Yadomaru's Hollow Mask (Fake)
10,000 Euros
I winced. Usually, it would be a thousand then, but it was ten times the amount since I didn't have access to the bleach world. 'Give me an inverted version.'
It was the same price, so I bought it.
"I think I have something actually," I told her, summoning out the mask and offering it to her. "Here."
Her eyes widened in shock. "How did you just do that!? Was that dimensional magic!? I've never seen something like that before!"
Oh right, I'd never used the inventory around her, had I?
"Sort of," I told her. "It's a magic from your world in the future called Re-Quip Magic. It basically allows you to store items in a pocket 'space' and bring them out at any time. I think there's a variant of it in this world, but I don't know how to do that one."
"I see…" She muttered. "How do you perform it?"
Shit, I didn't this far ahead.
"On second thought," she said immediately after. "Don't tell me. It will be more fun to figure it out on my own…" She gently took the mask. "This mask is an interesting artifact; I can feel the magic power from it… What does it do?"
"It turns your sclera black and your pupils gold," I told her. "And it shifts your voice to sound dual layered and distorted to make it harder to pin down your identity. It also passively hides your identity so nobody can find out who you are, but there's a chance if someone knows you behind the mask, they might figure it out."
"Ah, clever," she nodded. "Simple, but elegant… How am I supposed to see out of this properly though?"
"Just try it on."
She shrugged and put it on, and instantly I watched as her eyes were overwhelmed by black, golden pupils shining through. "Huh, I can see properly- woah, is that my voice? It sounds so strange."
I felt a shudder run through my spine at the sound of the dual layer to her voice… That was very uncomfortable and just a little sexy.
"That's going to take a bit of getting used to," I admit to her. "I didn't speak much with my own mask on, so I don't think my voice really registered in my mind."
"When will we hit the base?" She asked with a soft head tilt.
"Three days, I think," I told her. "Word is definitely going to spread, so they'll be on guard for us. Do you think you can precure some kind of cloak or something to hide the rest of your body when we're doing raids? We don't exactly want people to realise who we are, know what I mean?"
She looked considerate before she nodded. "I think I can make something in three days. If you give me your coat, I can enchant it to be a bit more useful to you."
I didn't hesitate to take my Coat out of my inventory and hand it over to her.
"We'll break from training today, and we'll start again tomorrow," she told me, removing the mask. "Yes, it's definitely going to take some time to get used to that," she nodded, heading up the stairs to her workshop.
I sighed and leaned back in my seat, staring at the ceiling and running a hand through my hair.
Is everything okay, Tony?
'I'm fine, Rhea. Just… Kind of lamenting at how my life used to be simple before I became supernatural, but I wanted this so I'm not going to bitch about it. Just to make sure, this isn't the canon universe, right?'
You are correct, this is not the Canon Universe. That universe remains untouched at all times. Even those who believe they are travelling to the canon universe are not doing so, because if you travelled there then 'canon' would change, and thus it wouldn't be canon.
Right, that made sense.
Well, since I had nothing to do right now… I suppose I should put my focus on levelling up my miscellaneous skills…?
~~God's Game~~
Sneak has levelled up x45
Due to surpassing its limits [Sneak] has become Epic Rarity
Aura Suppression has levelled up x39
Due to surpassing its limits [Aura Suppression] has become Legendary Rarity
Charisma has levelled up x27
Due to surpassing its limits [Charisma] has become Uncommon Rarity
… So, Charisma ended up being one of those skills that levelled up the more it activated. One woman became charmed by my face, and then it levelled up. And that made it a 2% chance, and so on and so forth.
I was now up to pretty much a 1/5 chance to charm women upon them seeing my face. I couldn't wait to see how it worked on Irene; I was sure it would be amusing.
Sneak was not that hard to level up, I just had to try and be quiet and make my way around, and Aura Suppression was always on anyway so that levelled up really quick when I was around multiple people.
But I didn't expect this. Sneak was now Level 60, and Aura Suppression was now at Level 76! Dear Michael, was this the effect of Godly Level Growth!? The power to master skills at an absurd rate!? Broken as fuck!
I had a smile on my face as I walked down the street, before I ended up in a park and took a seat, watching families having a good time and kids playing about.
Being an orphan myself, with no family to speak of, I had a new appreciation for families now. I was truly blessed to have a family that stuck with me every step of the way during my cancer, staying with me right up until the end.
Is that jealousy I'm starting to feel, Tony?
'Yeah, it is…' I admitted. 'My cancer was found in my teens, and from then on I was living on borrowed time… I never got the chance to do all the things I'd wanted to do with my family. I didn't get to celebrate Christmas with them after a certain point, I couldn't do all the fun activities, all I could do was lay in my bed, talk, and use computers… Watching these kids having fun with their families… It makes me miss my own…'
I wondered, how were my family now? How were they coping with my death? I hoped it didn't come as a surprise, I'd be running on borrowed time and all of us knew it, but I sincerely hoped it didn't destroy them like the deaths of others might… I hoped they were able to move on while remembering me in their hearts.
'God, when did I get so fucking sappy?' I rolled my eyes with a self-deprecating grin on my face.
Due to the trait [Isekai'd Soul], -5 Affection with Irina Shidou (-5/100)
Due to the trait [Isekai'd Soul], -5 Affection with Xenovia Quarta (-5/100)
Wait what?
"Xenovia, isn't that..?" I heard from nearby, a voice that was vaguely familiar to me shooting through me.
I glanced over, trying to keep myself relaxed, and saw Irina Shidou together with Xenovia Quarta nearby, in their Exorcist cloaks. People's gazes slid right off of them, likely an effect of the cloaks to make sure they wouldn't be stopped for looking suspicious.
"Yes," Xenovia responded to Irina. "He's definitely that boy we saw a while ago in Milan, the one who lost his legs to the stray devil, and we could do nothing for… But, how is he alive?"
"I have no idea," Irina responded. "It shouldn't be possible… Do you think maybe some devil came along and revived him?"
"No. We've been trained to sense devils, and he doesn't feel even remotely like one. I do feel a faint aura from him though, though it's pretty weak… Perhaps he has some sort of Healing Sacred Gear that awakened? But surely such a Sacred Gear would catch people's attention, it would be even more coveted than Twilight Healing…"
"He must truly be blessed by the lord to have received such a gift, let alone survive."
+15 Affection with Irina Shidou (10/100) for being blessed by the lord to survive.
+15 Affection with Xenovia Quarta (10/100) for being blessed by the lord to survive.
Wait, what? Was their devotion to God really that strong that, once they convinced themselves I must be 'blessed' by him, that their reputation just leapt up like that!? What the fuck!?
Apparently so.
"Should we approach him?" Xenovia asked Irina. "The Vatican would surely welcome him."
"I don't think so," Irina told her. "We're not the most diplomatic of people, and we also don't know his background. First, let's report our suspicions of this to the higher ups, and they can run a background check and diplomatically invite him to the faction."
"Hm… Agreed. It will make it a bit harder since we don't have his name, but we'll make it work."
I heard footsteps, a sign the two were walking away. I broke out into a cold sweat, taking a deep breath as I finally allowed myself to feel some panic.
This wasn't good, I really didn't want to join up with the Church. And if I rejected their offer they might take that as a 'if you aren't with us, you're against us.' There was only one thing for it, I'd have to cause as much ruckus as possible with Irene's help to make sure that their focus would shift to Inimicus Dei and the Third Party that was dealing with them, rather than some kid who may or may not have a healing Sacred Gear.
No, no, I shouldn't rush into this. I took a deep breath, counted to ten, and exhaled, and then repeated a few times to help myself calm down.
Easy Tony, deep breaths… It will be okay, just take deep breaths and relax. You'll be fine.
I let out a sigh as I slowly got up and began to make my way home. 'Thank you, Rhea…'
Any time, Tony.
The walk home was short as I was walking a bit fast, making my way inside and slumping onto the couch. Irene was nowhere to be seen, likely in her workshop.
Right now, I had to think, I had to consider my options.
First… Well, there was what I thought earlier, to cause such a ruckus with dealing with Inimicus Dei that they completely forgot about me or that their focus would shift entirely to what was happening that they wouldn't bother me for a while.
Another option… I guess would be to just join the church flat out, but I didn't want to do that. The church was corrupt, I knew that damned well. There was no logical way that Diodora would be able to get into the heart of the Vatican like he did unless someone in the church helped him do so, probably someone who saw the nuns as a 'threat' to their power base and wanted to eliminate them.
Joining the Devils was out of the question too, that would just antagonise the church to me even more and force me to leave Rome lest they hunt me down. And I would rather not leave Rome until I was good and ready to do so.
There was also another issue I had to address, in that I didn't have a healing Sacred Gear: it was the system aiding me, so when they learned I didn't have a Healing Sacred Gear, that would make them even more suspicious of me.
I took a deep breath. I'd wanted to save my tokens for a ten roll, but that wasn't happening. 'Rhea, convert my 20 common tokens into Uncommon Tokens, then spin my five uncommon tokens.'
Tokens converted.

Is something wrong?
'I… You… This… How!?'
I assure you, these rolls aren't tilted or biased in any way, shape, or form. This is exactly what you rolled; I promise you that.
'I got nothing below Epic! And I got fucking Avalon! Which means… Oh dear God.'
This… This was insane. Holy crap, these pulls were fucking wild!
I quickly tapped on them, checking their descriptions.

The greatest protection in the world that goes beyond defending or reflecting, completely isolating the user in a world completely separate from the regular world. 'Oh… My… God…'
I gulped, loudly… These were some of the most insane rolls I had ever seen. Toph would have been insane enough, the most powerful Earth Bender in the world, even before she met Aang's group. But then you added in the Flames of Earth, Holy Magic- which was apparently also able to heal- Nidai Kitetsu, and fucking Avalon!?
I quickly brought up my stats… LUK was the hardest stat to raise, and right now the most important if I wanted to use Nidai Kitetsu. I had 40 stat points, and 35 LUK…
I dumped all my stats into LUK, bringing it to 75. Still not enough to use Nidai Kitetsu safely, but enough that I'd be able to get it to 100 with some luck, or in five levels.
I leaned back in my seat, bringing out both skill orbs and crushing them, quickly obtaining both Holy Magic and the Flames of Earth. And then I hesitantly pulled Avalon out of my inventory, immediately captivated by its beauty.
When you hear things are beautiful in anime, you don't truly understand just how beautiful they are until you see it in person. Avalon was… It was gorgeous, beauty on a level I couldn't describe. I honestly wanted to put it down because I felt like I was dirtying it just by holding it!
I took a breath and slowly brought Avalon towards my chest, the sheath slowly sinking into me and sending a pleasant shudder through my spine.
Oh yes… Neither the Church nor Inimicus Dei knew what was coming to them!
A/N: Authors notes won't be common, don't expect them.
Just wanted to say two things. First, for the people complaining 'his gacha rolls were too fucking good,' I legitimately put a bunch of shit on a wheel- almost 2k individual things (Including a bunch of just the word 'common' (almost 445) and 'uncommon' (around 300))- and rolled all of that, which determined what he would be getting. For those complaining, blame RNGesus.
Second, every Fifth Chapter (I don't count the Prologue for this), I will be posting a 'current stats, skills, and items owned by Antonio,' so that you can stay updated with his progress. I'm doing this every fifth chapter because I think doing it at the end of every chapter is just annoying.

Item – Avalon – The Everdistant Utopia (Fate) (Godly) (Equipped)
The hallowed sheath of Excalibur, the embodiment of the Utopia that Artoria Pendragon sought in her lifetime. A Divine Construct crafted by the fae, bequeathing its wielder immortality through limited regeneration, as well as preventing physical deterioration caused by aging. The regeneration is able to regenerate even a crushed heart instantly. The ultimate power of Excalibur is the power available only to its owner: an absolute defence that complete shields its user in the domain of the fairies, Avalon. The greatest protection in the world that goes beyond defending or reflecting, completely isolating the user in a world completely separate from the regular world. A barrier on the level of True Magic, that transcends all Magecraft, untouchable by even the Five True Magics. It recognises its True Owner as: Antonio Bianchi.
