God's Game – The First Inheritor
Summary: I was hyped when I learned I was getting Isekai'd, wondering what cool power I'd get to help me fuck shit up. Instead, I ended up an orphan in Italy, with no powers of my own to help me survive in the world of Devils, Angels, and Tits… But just because I wasn't sent to the world with power, doesn't mean I could obtain it after. Due to performing a Skill Sparring Session, Skill Experience is locked for [6 Days, 23 hours, 59 minutes]. The user cannot perform Skill, Experience, or Stat Sparring for [6 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes].
I breathed heavily on the ground, the wooden sword in my hand broken into splinters, my entire body in agony that even Avalon was working overtime to help relieve the pain,
It had been about 4 days since Irene and I had our day out and got closer to one another, and true to my word, I hadn't done anything beyond my daily quests of studying and working out.
Today, I had asked Irene to train me, and I'd asked her to push me hard. Why? Because I wanted to use the Skill Sparring Session that Rhea had told me about, just to see how effective it was.
And Oh. My. God.
As I lay breathing on the ground, staring at that notification… I decided that it was worth it. Basically, every skill I'd worked on had gone up a rarity, the only exceptions being One-Sword Style, which probably wasn't far off, Rho Aias and my Earth Flames, the latter two of which I suspected would need to be Max Level if they were going to rank up since they were already at Legendary.
Aura Suppression was honestly the one I was most excited about; I was glad I was focusing on it during my training. Now, people would be completely unable to sense my aura at all unless I let them! Plus, I could now basically have it as always active with basically no detriment. And if I wanted people to take me seriously, I just had to turn it off.
"I think that's enough training for the day," Irene's voice rang out, slowly casting her gaze around the ruined basement. "… You were fighting much harder today," she noted. "We'll have to put off any more training, Until I repair the basement, okay?"
"Deal…" I agreed without issue, I didn't want to spar anyway. God, my body felt so fucked.
"That being said, you made a lot of good progress today," Irene told me. "Your Dragon Slaying Magic and Holy Magic both felt like they were advancing by leaps and bounds, and you were able to add a second layer to your flower shield. Plus, the gravity you were using on me with your earth flames was definitely more by the end."
"I'm a faster learner, especially when motivated," I told her. "I noticed you stopped using poison against me part way through, why was that?"
She offered a shrug. "Simply because that was the furthest my poison magic could go, and you just reached the point that your resistance to it is better. Even if I were to throw my strongest poison, your slayer magic is at the point where I just can't cause any damage."
Ah, that made sense. While Irene was experienced in many magics, even she had limits.
"How's your progress on Antibodies coming?" I asked her, though kept my tone somewhat subdued just in case.
"It's coming," she sighed. "I'm making some progress, but the best I've managed right now are some antibodies that attack and destroy dragon slaying magic. Which, obviously, isn't what I want. What I want is to prevent the Dragonification itself. I'm hoping if given some more time, I can isolate specifically the 'dragon seed' as you called it …"
"Then you can prevent Dragonification altogether," I noted. "It's a shame you don't know transformation magic," I sighed. "I'd like to learn transformation magic, so that way I can become a dragon safely."
She looked at me. "Wait, you want to become a dragon?"
I blinked… Had I not mentioned this? "Yeah, I don't see why not," I told her. "As long as I learn transformation magic so I can turn back into a human form, I don't see the downsides besides a weakness to dragon slaying weapons. Not like it changes who I am, and becoming a Dragon should increase my overall magic pool and lifespan, so…"
She paused, looking considerate at my words. It seemed she'd never really thought about it like that, it was just her inherent nature as someone who had grown up hating 'bad' dragons leading her to not wanting to become a dragon."
"Look, I'm not gonna say you should become a dragon," I told Irene. "But just think about it, and maybe try and come to terms with the fact it might happen. You've been using Dragon Slayer Magic longer than me, so you should be further along than I am."
She hesitated and nodded. "I'm… Going to go do some thinking," she told me, leaving the training room without another word.
I waited as she left and sighed in relief that I didn't lose any affection with her, that would have sucked.
I lay there for a moment, letting my HP, MP, and Stamina recover, before I opened up my inventory, eyeing both my Gale and Moon Dragon Slayer orbs.
While I wanted to max Venom before I used them, Legendary Rank was good enough. I also realised I was dumb since I could just use both magics together to level them up, and I was just losing out by not using them.
With that in mind, I used both skill orbs.
Skill Obtained – Moon Dragon Slayer Magic (Rare)
Skill Obtained – Moon Magic Proficiency (Rare)
Skill Obtained – Moon Resistance (Rare)
Skill Obtained – Gale Dragon Slayer Magic (Uncommon)
Skill Obtained – Wind Magic Proficiency (Uncommon)
Skill Obtained – Wind Resistance (Uncommon)
I grinned lightly. Was I contradicting my earlier reasons for not learning both magics? Yes, but I realised I was being a fucking idiot after thinking it over. But hey, lessons learned.
… Shit, I should have learned them both before the sparring session, now they wouldn't be able to level up for a week!
I groaned at my own foolishness- twice over- before I shook my head and sat up.
"Rhea, what's the level for the next base?"
Forty is the recommended level for the next base.
I winced softly… That was 7 levels above what I was at right now. Not something I was entirely comfortable with, but I'd have Irene at my side. And, if I got into a pinch, I could use Avalon and devour the air around me to try and keep it going indefinitely.
I had no illusions that would work the way I wanted it to, but hopefully it would be a decent stopgap.
I slowly, shakily, stood up. My magic had topped up a bit, so I'd test out a spell from both my Moon and Gale Slayer magics before I headed upstairs and got some proper rest.
First though, I brought up each slayer magic.
Moon Dragon Slayer Magic – Level 1 – Rare
The Magic of Dragons that is used to kill them, an ancient and lost form of magic. Allows the user free access to Moon Dragon Slayer Magic, the power of the Moon and Stars.
User obtains the ability to eat the 'stars and moon' of an equal rarity of this skill or lower and convert it into MP.
Deal [(MP cost/4) + (INT x 2)] Damage
+100% extra damage to 'Dragon' enemies
Gale Dragon Slayer Magic – Level 1 – Uncommon
The Magic of Dragons that is used to kill them, an ancient and lost form of magic. Allows the user free access to Gale Dragon Slayer Magic, the power of the vicious winds.
User obtains the ability to eat Wind of an equal rarity of this skill or lower and convert it into MP.
Deal [(MP cost/5) + (INT x 2)] Damage
+100% extra damage to 'Dragon' enemies
I frowned lightly at the description of my Moon Magic… Moon and Stars was kind of vague, how was I supposed to increase my resistance to that? It was probably some kind of cosmic energy… Well, it was so niche it probably wouldn't come up.
You know, unless I went to Fairy Tail…
"Right, let's do this then," I nodded to myself. "Rhea, please bring up canon Moon Dragon Slayer spells for me."
There are five known spells, though you are aware the breath attack so there's technically six. There's Relocation, Moonlight Conflagration, Moonlight Butterflies, Moonlight Blade, and Moonlight Palm.
As she mentioned each of them, images of each of the attacks appeared in front of me.
"Hm… Let's not get fancy with it, just the roar," I murmured, before I took a deep breath, tilting my head back.
Moon Dragon's…
I jerked my head forwards, opening my mouth as a magic circle formed in front of my mouth.
Roar!
My eyes widened as I felt my body be blown back from the force, the beam of pale white light slamming into the opposing wall as my back slammed into the one behind me.
The magic cut off and I slid down to the wall, landing on my feet… There was a huge hole in the wall, and I winced heavily. "… Okay… Moon Dragon might have a bit of kickback to it…"
That didn't even make sense though! Was it because it was a legendary Dragon Slayer Magic? One wielded by a Dragon considered strong enough to be a god, on par with Acnologia? Was the gap between 'Epic' and 'Legendary' really that huge?
I shook my head. It seemed I'd need some training to handle potential recoil of Moon Dragon Slayer…
… Though there was also a chance I really was just so exhausted that the beam of magic ended up stronger than I anticipated, so it had more kickback to it than I was prepared for.
Yeah, it was probably just that and I was being overdramatic.
I shook my head once again. "Right… Moon's pretty cool… Now, let's try Gale…"
I took a breath, deciding to brace myself properly, winds surrounding my arm. I thrust my arm forwards, unleashing a massive cyclone that crashed into the opposing wall once again, kicking up rocks and creating a huge vortex before I cut off the magic flow, causing them all to fall to the ground.
"Okay, Gale's pretty epic," I murmured. "Damn, I really was a fool for not using these sooner…!"
I sighed and shook my head, making my way up the stairs while contemplating just what my next move should be.
Obviously I was going to be dealing with Inimicus Dei's last two bases… We were sure to meet Basil Volpe and the unknown Exorcist, that was for sure.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I opened up my inventory and checked the description of my Companion Gem for Toph.
Companion Gem – Toph Beifong (Legendary)
A gem that allows you to summon forth Toph Beifong, from before she met Aang and Team Avatar. Upon summoning, the user will have a chance to recruit her to his cause. Should the user fail, Toph will be sent back to her world with no memories of being summoned.
Okay… So, this would be a much more distrustful Toph and a bit more prone to anger. Plus, she was headstrong… Luckily for me, she was able to tell if people were lying or not unless their name was Azula.
I sighed and closed my inventory, I would summon Toph at a later time… On another note, giving her the Gura Gura no Mi wouldn't be the worst decision, since she saw the world through vibrations in the earth… With the Gura Gura no Mi, there was a chance she'd be able to see the rest of the world.
Though it would make her even more of a beastly, given the Gura Gura no Mi was a Devil Fruit with the potential to destroy the world… And it wasn't like I'd be handing out Devil Fruits or magic like Candy, unless I pulled a duplicate of something I already had, or I was using it as a gift for some affection points. Even then, I'd see if I could convert them into Lacrima and implant them into myself to become a Third Generation Dragon Slayer.
My body went rigged. 'Ah, that's right-! How the hell do I access Dragon Force?'
I hadn't even considered that. Dragon Force was supposed to put a Dragon Slayer on par with a Dragon… How the hell was I supposed to enter it?
I can answer that, Tony. Since you are a First Generation Dragon Slayer, you require an external stimulus to initially trigger your Dragon Force. Like how Natsu ate Lacrima from the Tower of Heaven that was charged from the Etherion blast, or how Wendy entered it after eating Ethernano enhanced air. You must devour at least 'legendary' or 'godly' version of your element in order to enter Dragon Force initially. After that, you are able to train yourself to activate it at will like how Wendy did so. Though it can also be activated with a powerful surge of emotion, it's just easier to devour a higher rarity of element to 'kickstart' your ability to use it. However, if you were to obtain a Dragon Slayer Lacrima, then you would be able to implant it into yourself and gain the ability to use it at will.
'Shit, doesn't that mean that my only options are either to get super pissed… Or to devour Samael's Poison if I don't get a Lacrima?'
That wasn't great… I knew I had a high resistance to poison, but the issue came from eating such a high rarity of poison like Samael's. Just because I could eat it, doesn't mean it wouldn't have side effects, like how Natsu initially choked on the Etherion Lacrima.
'Wait, didn't the description of my Venom Dragon Slayer Magic say I can only eat poison of lower rarities?' I question as I quickly brought up the skill.
Venom Dragon Slayer Magic – Level 83 – Legendary
The Magic of Dragons that is used to kill them, an ancient and lost form of magic. Allows the user free access to Venom Dragon Slayer Magic.
User obtains the ability to safely eat poison of a rarity equal to this skill or lower and convert it into MP.
Deal [(MP cost/2) + (INT x 4)] Damage
+100% extra damage to 'Dragon' enemies
+83% chance to poison per hit
Poison Damage = [(INT + WIS) x 2] every 3 seconds
Poison Duration = MP Cost x 20
'User obtains the ability to 'safely' eat poison of a lower rarity… So, Samael's Poison could very well kill me… I'll have to keep that in mind, since I don't know of a poison like Samael's, and I'd need Samael's poison if I wanna max my Poison Resistance…'
Ugh, that meant I'd definitely have to get involved in the plot at some point… Not joining the Devils though, I could have a harem without needing to be a devil. And with the System, given the Biblical God was a Gamer, it meant Immortality must not be out of the realm of possibility for me either.
'Speaking of Issei… I actually like the guy, but I don't want him getting the way of my harem… Girls like Rias and Koneko are a bit too good for him…'
You could purchase the Rule63 Patch?
'… You what?'
The Rule63 Patch. It's sort of like a cheat code item the user can purchase that will change the gender of whoever they desire to the opposite. However, it also changed the world itself. So, for example, if you were to use it on Issei, then he would become a girl. However, doing so would also change history. After all, a preliminary reason Issei becomes a pervert is meeting an old man in the world and being taught about breasts. However, that old man is far less likely to downright unlikely to talk to a little girl about that, meaning Issei as a girl is likely to not be a pervert at all. Given Irina's leaving, she would be more likely to fall into temporary depression, before she picks herself up and focuses on studying and such.
Oh…? That was very interesting… 'So, if I used the patch on say… Sirzechs… Does that mean Millicas Gremory wouldn't exist anymore?'
Not necessarily. With Sirzechs being a girl, there's every chance a marriage contract would be signed for her to Ajuka, so there is every chance they have a child and name them Millicas.
'But it also means that Grayfia doesn't fall in love with Sirzechs and betray the Old Satan Faction, and instead stays loyal to the 'original' Lucifer bloodline, right?'
Yes, you catch on quickly. Of course, it's still possible that Grayfia falls in love with Sirzechs and betrays the Old Satans, but eventually comes to understand she and Sirzechs cannot be together as Sirzechs is a loyal person and would remain dedicated to Ajuka only. In which instance, she simply serves as Sirzech's Queen while suffering a great bitterness in her heart.
'The issue is I have no way of knowing if that's the case until I see the interaction for myself… No, better to leave Sirzechs alone. How much is the patch though?'
It's 100,000 per purchase.
'That… Seems kind of cheap overall, don't you think?'
Tony, DxD is an Ecchi world that desperately wants to be a hentai. 100,000 is more than a fair price for this world, all things considered. You're changing literal history when you use the item, unlike if you were to purchase something like Azazel's gender swapping ray gun.
… I couldn't even argue that, it was fair, and this world did want to be a Hentai so badly, only staying Ecchi because that was just how shit worked… But I swore to God, if I ended up in one of those stupid fucking situations where I was about to get laid and then got cockblocked, I was gonna kill a bitch.
'Well, I've got around 80k Euros right now, so looks like it's a bit out of my reach for the time being… Well, that's fine, it's 3 years until DxD canon starts up anyway, I have plenty of time.'
I opened the door to my room and fell down onto my bed, stretching with a pleased groan, before I grabbed my phone and unlocked it.
2 missed calls.
'Hm…?'
I checked and blinked in surprise when I saw it was Emilia who called me… Really I shouldn't be trying to interact with her too much, given it was very likely she was part of the church, and I didn't want to entertain the idea to them that I'd be joining them.
But it was also rude to not call her back…
I sighed and brought the phone to my ear as I called her back. Curse my politeness.
"Hello Tony!" Her voice chirped.
"Hey Emi," I responded. "You called me earlier, right? What's up?"
"Oh, I was just wondering if you wanted to set up a day to hangout sometime soon! You know, lunch, maybe an arcade or a movie? Something fun."
'That just sounds like she's inviting me out for a date…' I thought to myself, though she probably didn't mean it that way… And if she did, I was going to be concerned for the thought process of girls in this world.
I hummed in contemplation… Today was Friday… So…
"How does next Saturday sound?" I asked her. Irene and I would be dealing with another base likely this Saturday or Sunday, so those days weren't good for me. But next Saturday or Sunday should be fine. Is that okay with you?"
+5 Affection with Emilia Romano (15/100) for agreeing to go out
"It sounds great!" She responded, and I could feel her smile through the phone. "We'll text more about the details later, I have to go eat dinner!"
"Sure, sure," I agreed. "See you."
"See you!"
The line went flat, as I put down my phone, staring up at the ceiling. Going out with her alone was probably a dangerous choice on my part, given I was fairly confident she was part of the church, I just didn't know in what capacity.
But I knew that Irina and Xenovia had likely reported me to the church, and wanted to recruit me… Which meant I'd have to let some of my aura leak out of my body. Could I control that now? Before it was a flat 'this much is hidden,' but with it at godly I should be able to control it, right? I brought up the skill.
Aura Suppression – Level 100 (MAX) – Godly
A godly level skill that allows the user to hide any form of supernatural presence from their body, even the greatest of sensors will be unable to notice anything different about you from a normal human. This skill may act as a passive skill, and the user is able to adjust how much power they are leaking.
0%/100% (Set) of supernatural aura leaking from body
+100% chance of people believing you are weaker than you are when your aura is restrained by 25% or below
So, the skill had changed. Currently I was set at leaking 0% of my aura, and people thought I was weaker than I actually was if I kept it leaking 25% or less.
I'd keep it at 0% for now, and I'd change it to 10% leaking on Monday, that would prevent Emilia and any other church members from getting suspicious.
Do you mind if I ask something?
'Go ahead.'
Why such strong hate to the church members? The Devils and Fallen are no saints either.
'I know,' I responded. 'But they're not an immediate problem, so I see now reason to think about them so much. I have no intentions of joining any of the three. I might have joined the devils if I didn't get Dragon Slayer Magic to secure my extended lifespan, but I did get it so they're out. The fallen don't have many girls that hold my interest besides Raynare, but I won't be heartbroken if she dies, and I can't get her. If I join the Church it's going to take a long time until I can obtain girls like Rias, Sona and such. And if I join the devils, I'm a slave. So, I'm not joining any of them.'
A wise decision. What will you do then?
'Heh, why ask a question you already know the answer to?'
Why indeed…~
~~God's Game~~
A warning has been issued.
You are about to enter a Dungeon. The minimum recommended Level for this Dungeon is 40. Once you enter the dungeon, you will not be able to leave unless you clear the dungeon or use a Return Stone. Please bring all allies into the dungeon with you, or they will not be able to enter until you clear the dungeon, use a return stone, or die.
I adjusted my mask as we stood outside of one of the last bases of Inimicus Dei. Except this one wasn't a building like the last few, it was an underground bunker, skilfully hidden with magic, but nothing that Irene couldn't pinpoint and find once we were in the general area.
"An underground bunker?" She mused in her distorted voice. "I'm surprised there weren't more of these."
"They likely couldn't make too many," I told her. "Or else they risk enacting with railroads or weakening the structure of various new house to be built. Plus, it's not easy to build, it even took you a few days to get our training area ready. For sub-par exorcists, it probably takes much longer."
Irene hummed and nodded. "Shall we make our way in?" She asked.
I nodded, and Irene waved a hand, the ground opening up in front of us as she overrode the magic spells hiding the base. We made our way down, a barrier forming behind us as we entered the dungeon. Thankfully, it was well lit, meaning we wouldn't have to worry about our vision being impaired.
"Be careful," I told Irene. "This place is more dangerous than what we're used to… I've got the feeling there might be people in here that are stronger than me this time."
"Yes, I noticed…" She told me. "It's hard to tell when you're restraining your aura so tightly to the point I can't even sense it, but there are some people definitely stronger than you."
"You can teleport to me in a pinch, right?"
"Of course."
"Then we'll split up like we did last time, it helps cover more ground."
"… Very well. If you die, I'll kill you."
I chortled, before we reached a split path and separated.
I charged forwards, a hand resting on Nidai Kitetsu as I headed into the base, a large group of exorcists coming out, all of them ready for battle and glaring at me.
"Hey, this is the guy that's been hitting our bases, it must be!" One said. "Let's take them out."
"One-Sword Style…"
I ignited Nidai Kitetsu in Earth Flames, using the power of Gravity to force all of the exorcists down onto their knees, and I blurred past them, my blade beheading all of them before they even realised what was happening, quickly sheathing my blade after the fact.
"Lion's Song."
Zoro, eat your heart out.
I tore through the base, using anything I could to tear down my enemies. Venom, Gale, Moon, Holy, Earth, Nidai Kitetsu, even my bare hands.
I dulled the world around me with Intersect of Yin and Yang, focused only on completing my objective, the weight of killing not so much as touching me in my current state as I focused on clearing out this base. It would just be this one, and one more, and then Inimicus Dei would be a thing of the past…
I whirled around, lifting Nidai Kitetsu in a flash as I blocked a sword swing from behind me… But it was no normal sword. The Holy Aura coming off of it… There was no doubt, this was the real Galatine, which meant this person must be the Exorcist in question, the same one who attacked me.
"I told you not to come back," they growled, and I was now able to note their feminine voice. "Now, I'm going to have to kill you for all you've done!"
"You'll try," I whirled around and kicked them in the stomach hard, sending them crashing into the wall.
An Emergency Quest has been issued!
Emergency: The Fallen Exorcist
The Dungeon Boss is a powerful up and coming Exorcist wielding the Holy Sword, Galatine. You must kill them before they kill you… Or perhaps there is another way to resolve things?
Split Objective
-Kill the Exorcist
-Recruit the Exorcist
Reward (Kill): +2 Levels, +15 Stat Points, Holy Sword Galatine, +10 Affection with Church Members as [Not Yet Known]
Reward (Recruit): +3 Levels, +30 Stat Points, Holy Sword Wielder Perk, Guild System Update, +30 Affection with [Fallen Exorcist], -5 Affection with Church Members as [Not Yet Known]
Failure: Death
An emergency quest. Kill or Recruit, was it? Given the difference in rewards, minus the little downside for recruitment, it seemed that the System really wanted me to recruit the exorcist.
Well, I guess I'd see what would happen.
"Things won't be like last time," I told them. "So, how about you drop that hood and give me your name?"
"Like I'd give an enemy my name so easily," they grunted, pulling themselves out of the wall. "But I will show you my face, since you'll be dying here anyway." They lifted their hand to their hood and lowered it.
Beautiful.
Long black hair cascading down her body like an ebony waterfall, eyes of fierce, ice blue, and pale skin that almost seemed to glow like moonlight, a little beauty mark under their right eye. While I could not see the rest of their body under their cloak, there was no doubt to me that they had a beautiful body to match their face.
"You must be the Exorcist that Basil Volpe spoke of in his documents…"
She grit her teeth. "I told Basil that would come back to bite him one day… So, what if I am?"
"I ask of you: Why do you work for him? Does the knowledge of the Almighty's death distress you so?"
She scoffed. "I couldn't care less about God's death, it's of no concern to me. If it was just that, I could keep serving the church."
"Then why did you turn your back on them?"
"You'll have to beat that answer out of me."
My eyes narrowed. "If I must… Then so be it."
There was a beat of silence…
And then a Holy Sword met a Cursed Sword in a vicious flurry of sparks.
Earth Flames ignited on my blade, as the Holy Aura of Galatine became greater.
"One-Sword Style-!"
She instantly backed up from me, adjusting her grip on her sword, but I dashed forwards and slammed my foot into her stomach. She coughed hard, clearly not expecting me to use a telegraphed attack to launch a sneak attack.
"Gravity Burst!"
I swung my sword down as Gravity bore down on her, a white aura surrounding her body as she lifted her sword, blocking the swing as she grit her teeth. The ground under her feet groaned and crumbled as she was driven deeper into the ground from the gravity bearing down on her.
"Tch… This power…! G- Gravity Jail, is that your Sacred Gear!?"
"I shall have to disappoint you, I don't have a Sacred Gear."
Her eyes widened in shock. "What-!?"
I held my hand in front of her face, bracing my legs a bit. "Moonlight Palm."
Her head ducked down at unnatural speeds, making my eyes widen in shock as my attack soared right over her body, before she slammed her foot on the ground and slammed her head into my stomach, causing my concentration to waver and the Gravity to be removed as I stumbled back.
'How did-!?'
I barely had time to think as she closed in, aiming a sword thrust at my stomach.
"Avalon!"
A golden light enveloped my body for only a second, her sword swing bouncing off the golden light as if it wasn't there, her eyes widening in shock.
I de-activated Avalon instantly, surrounding my arm with wind and firing a hurricane at her, sending her crashing into the wall. I wasted no time following up, my foot surrounded by wind as I slammed it against her stomach, making her cough hard from the impact.
I flipped my blade to the reverse side. "One-Sword Style-!"
"Don't fuck with me!" She roared, a huge aura surrounding Galatine as she swung, forcing me back as a wave of aura unleashed from Galatine, crashing into the wall as I stepped to the side and making a huge hole.
'Okay, so not Fate Counterpart, can still fire off energy attacks! Got it!'
I kept an eye on her… Before she vanished from my sight, causing my eyes to widen.!
'How the fuck-!?'
Behind you!
I whirled around, lifting Nidai Kitetsu and blocking her overhead swing, making her frown.
"Damn, so you could react to that, huh?"
"How the hell did you…!? Was that a Sacred Gear!?"
"Why would I give my enemy valuable information?"
'Fuck, she has a brain!'
The clanging of swords continued as we clashed, her sword swings all aiming for my vital spots whenever we got the chance, while my own were aiming to try and incapacitate her without killing her… Though if I had no choice, I wouldn't hesitate to end her.
Over and over, we clashed, she was exhausting her magical energy, while I was starting to exhaust my own. The difference between us?
My energy returned to me at a rate of 600 a minute, plus my stamina and health recovery was superior thanks to Avalon. If the battle of attrition continued, I would win.
"Damn it, how!?" She grit her teeth as her blades ground against one another. "How the hell did you get this strong so quickly!? I defeated you with a single punch the first time we met, but now you're fighting on par with me! So, how!?"
I smirked under my mask. "Why would I give my enemy valuable information?"
She snarled and pressed her blade against mine harder, clearly trying to snap or break it, to which I wished her good fucking luck! Nidai Kitetsu was one of the 21 Great Grade Swords, second only to the Supreme Great Swords like Yoru, Shodai Kitetsu, and Gol D. Roger's sword 'Ace.'
Even a peerless sword like Galatine couldn't hope to break my blade.
"But we don't have to be enemies."
She frowned and pressed her blade harder. "What do you mean?"
"Join me," I told her. "As you guessed, I'm not part of the church. No, I'm from another Organisation that's just getting off the ground. Join us, and I'll show you what hopefully ends up being the best future."
"You want me to join you? Then you'll have to defeat me first!"
"Fine by me, I think it's about time we ended this anyway! One strike will finish this!"
I jumped back, and she did the same. I crouched slightly, sheathing my sword and holding onto the sheath tightly as I held one hand on the blade.
"Quickdraw from Japan, is it…?" She held Galatine to the side of her head, channelling all of her remaining holy aura into her sword as it glowed with a white light. "Then I'll gladly end this with one final strike!"
"One-Sword Stye…"
"Absolute Sword Art, First Step-!"
The two of us soared straight at the other, a white aura surrounding my hand and my blade.
Closer…
Closer…
"Hunting Fox!"
"Violent Flash!"
Our two techniques slammed into the other for only a moment… Before they slipped through and our techniques slammed into the other, both of us grinding to a halt.
There was a beat of silence… Before I stumbled and fell to one knee, holding my chest a massive, nasty gash appeared on it. I quickly used my Holy Magic to start healing my body, breathing hard as I did my best to close my wound.
Behind me, I heard the sound of clanging as if something was dropped, looking back and seeing her struggling to stand as blood spurted from her chest. "… I lost…" She managed to say before she fell to the ground, eyes rolled into her skull as Galatine rested at her feet.
You have cleared the dungeon.
Moments after I received that notification, Irene teleported over to me.
"Are you okay? I sensed you…" Her eyes widened as she saw my state, hurrying over and starting to cast healing magic on me. No doubt she told at a glance I'd taken a pretty bad injury for once and was concerned for me.
"I'll be fine, Enchant," I told her, pointing at the Exorcist. "We're taking her with us. We might be able to squeeze some information from her, she's the Exorcist mentioned in the documents."
She didn't need any further prompting as she pulled me over to the girl, holding onto both of us before we were teleported back to the house in the underground training room, before she went to heal me again, but I waved her off.
"I'm fine," I promised, unzipping my coat and lifting up my shirt to show my wound was already closing- both thanks to Avalon and my own healing magic- though it would leave behind a nasty scar. "Heal her. She can't answer questions if she's dead, after all."
She hesitated but nodded, making her way to the Exorcist and pulling off her cloak to heal her, revealing she was wearing the 'traditional' exorcist outfit underneath- the skintight suit that showed off her curves.
I quickly turned away, taking deep breaths as my stamina slowly returned… That was definitely a dungeon above my Level Cap, it was only my versatility, Avalon, and my self-healing that was able to get me through that dungeon in one piece.

Skill Orb – Water-Make (Fairy Tail) (Epic)
Oh…? Not a bad skill orb, not bad at all… But I decided to stuff it in my inventory for now.
And no, this wasn't like my stupid Dragon Slayer choice, this one was more tactical. Eventually, I wanted to get an inn with Sona. Sure, I wasn't gonna become a Devil, but I liked Sona and wanted to bang her. This skill orb would be useful as a potential 'gift' to ramp up her affection and get her to date me.
I couldn't afford myself to relax though, I had the Emergency Quest hanging over my head like a sword of Damocles.
I pulled off my mask and coat, stuffing them both into my inventory. Thankfully, the System didn't put a time limit on how long I had to clear the emergency quest, only that I had to clear it 'as soon as possible.'

All of my stats, over 100… And I hadn't even managed to clear the first main quest in the System yet.
I took a deep breath as I finished healing myself, looking down at the now scar across my chest. There was no healing that, but I didn't mind. It was simply the price I had to pay to live in this twisted yet beautiful world.
… Shit, that sounded like KonoSuba, and I wanted nothing to do with that- except Darkness, loved me a masochist.
"She's stable," Irene's clear voice told me, causing me to look back at her and see the Exorcist was now breathing steadily, Galatine held in Irene's hands before it vanished into her Re-Quip space. "I'll put her in a guest room under heavy enchantments, make sure she won't be escaping until we get some answers."
"Try not to be too aggressive," I told her. "I think there's a chance we might be able to recruit her to our side, so let's take it easy."
She nodded in agreement, lifting her up and climbing up the stairs, I followed close behind.
One dungeon left to go.
