The afternoon sun beat down upon her head relentlessly as she walked barefoot along the pavement of her backyard patio. The soles of her feet stung as she took each step, causing her to walk all the more faster. Finally at her destination, she ran towards the edge, her back arching perfectly as she dove gracefully into the stingingly cold water. She opened her green eyes to see, although blurry, the blueness of the water. As her face finally broke the surface, her lungs filled with cool air. She shook her pastel pink hair out of her eyes only to see a lone man sitting in a lawn chair at the edge of the pool. He must have been relaxing because he seemed to be deeply enthralled in the contents of his book.
Forcing herself to climb out of the pool despite the shivers that trailed down her spine, she tip-toed towards him It wasn't as if she was trying to suprise him, she'd given up on that long ago. It was only a small reaction that came along with seeing him. Almost a built in flirtation device. She smiled as he looked up from his book and asked, "Aren't the boys coming today?"
He shook his head silently, shaking his shaggy silver hair out of his uncovered eyes. He eyed her for a few moments, two mis-matched eyes scrutinizing her hungrily. Her green bikini hung on her form tightly, fitting to her curves the way a bikini was supposed to, allowing her to move as quickly through the water as physically possible. Her drenched, shoulder blade length, vibrant locks hung around her shoulders loosely. She continued to approach until she stood over him.
"Well, that's weird. They always come... I wonder if something happened." She said, smiling at him. He smiled back sharing a mischevious grin. They both knew what had happened. Naruto and Sasuke, who had been coming over every day this summer to use her pool, had been frightened away by the pair's openly affectionate actions the day before. Sakura sighed as she collapsed into his lap. "Oh well, they'll get over the initial shock... I hope."
