The chill Febuary morning carried a sense of sorrow. A young woman stood still holding herself for warmth. Her curly brown-black hair hung long against her slim and toned body, as a few stray strands blew lightly in her sweet caramel-coloured face. She wiped a nimble hand across her face to wipe them away and when she brought her hand back to her side, she felt something new, something she couldn't quite place—tears—something so unfamiliar to those like her. Heroes. Vigilantes. She glanced down from shaded green eyes at the last of her friend before he finally rested in peace, and then turned away, eager to rediscover how to cry within the comfort of her own home.
"Aqua Lad, I'm coming back…I can't do this," she breathed into her slim black cell phone, "I can't do this…" After a few words from the hydromantic telepath, probably meant to soothe her, she clicked it shut and proceeded to her yellow corvette and sped away to rejoin her team.
It wasn't ten minutes of driving down the highway after she lost it. She swerved into the right-hand lane, nearly causing a crash behind her, and sped down the exit ramp. She had no idea what exit she had just taken but the next thing she knew she was slammed on the brakes and broke down. First Vic and Teresa, then Mal, and now this…she couldn't hold back her tears any longer. She was long overdue for a mental and emotional breakdown. She looked up. There in front of her, was her and Victor's old meeting place—a small bar with good food and a friendly environment. Karen remembered the time they had first decided to meet here, and the time they had gotten into a fight and spent some time making up here in a bathroom stall. Their being on separate teams had always worried Bumblebee, and how it would affect the relationship. But Victor, aka Cyborg, truly loved her and would let nothing get in their way. They hastily began meeting, Bee ignoring her issue about their team situation, and it was nice for a while—the secretive part of it excited them and their loved grew more passionate than anything. Soon enough, Cyborg realized how much the team issue had been bothering Bee when Titan's East—her team—asked him to join as their leader in Bee's stead. He seriously considered it, but Bee told him that as much as she wanted him to stay, she knew he had to leave, and with that Victor was gone. Soon after, they had a fight about it, and they parted—Bee to take in interest in Speedy, who had always had a love-hate, brother-sister type relationship, until one night they met on the rooftop, and talked, sharing an awkward kiss, which soon brought her back to Cy, and Cy himself, taking a liking to Jinx, which never worked out because she wasn't interested in him, but in Kid Flash.
