How far would you go to save the one you love?

It was cold, and growing dark. The clouds in the sky were dark and threatening. In the distance a lone wolf howled.

In a canyon, a girl and boy were fighting for their lives. The were hanging onto a ledge, that couldn't support their weight much longer. Soon, the ledge was bound to give and send them into the darkness below.

The girl was tired and her body was injured. She looked solomly over at the boy. He was barely consious. He had been badly hurt before they fell. They had been in a fight and he had saved her. The girl closed her eyes. She didn't really know how much longer she could hold on. Her body was aching and she was freezing.

Suddenly, the boy started coughing violently. She opened her eyes and glanced over at him. He was the first man she had fallen in love with. She wished so much that he would return her feelings.

"I love you." She closed her eyes, feeling the tears building up. The boy just looked at her. He was shocked at the confession, but he felt the same way. He and gazed into her sparkling eyes. Then, he looked up at the sky. He felt a wet coldness hit his face.

The girl smiled at him. She loved him and would do anything to save him. Tears fell down and stained her cheeks. She made a decision.

The boy brought his gaze back to her. He noticed the silver liquid flowing down her face.

The girl leaned towards him and placed her lips against his in a soft chaste kiss. She pulled away and smiled. "I love you." She chocked on the words. "Promise me that you will never forget me."

He looked up at her with wide eyes and nodded. He gulped, "I promise." The girl smiled at him. "Good." Her heart pounded in her chest. "I will love you in this life and the next."

The boy knew what she was going to do. He felt the tears sting at his eyes. But he held them back.

"I love you." With those words she released her grip from the ledge and fell into the depths of the dark.

As she let go the rain began to fall, and so did the boy's tears. He cried as everything around him became blurry.
