Title: With Whom You Are Meant To
Disclaimer: CSI belong to CBS I don't not own them yet. The Inheritance Trilogy is created by Christopher Paolini.
Spoilers: Eragon and Eldest minor spoilers
A/N: Well in just over a week I've taken 3 exams, spent 2 weekends helping to decorate a house and read both Eragon and Eldest. The results of lack of sleep and too much reading are below…enjoy.
Greg turned another page of the book, his mind blanking out the noise of the other members of the night shift as they crowded into the break room on an unusually quite night as the mental battles played out in his head. He jumped as a hand waved in front of his face.
"Woah! What?" Greg asked, his gaze flickering to meet Sara's.
"We've called your name about four times now and you've ignored us, you've hardly spoken to any of us for the past three days."
"Sorry," Greg said sheepishly. "I'm nearly finished though."
"What trash are you reading anyway?" Nick asked eyeing the surprisingly large red hardback.
"Eldest. And its not trash, it's great. Dragons, elves, magic and mystery." Greg said with defiance.
"Have you been raiding the children's section of the library again Greggo?" Warrick asked amused by the childlike expression Greg got when describing the book.
"Hey! This is not a kiddies book," Greg snapped looking offended.
"Please don't get him started again Warrick its all I've had from him for the past week. I had a blow by blow account of the first book and now this one. I don't need it again." Sara pleaded.
Warrick just smiled. "So Greg, what's it about?"
Greg poked his tongue out at Sara before answering. "Well the two books the author's done s far are Eragon and Eldest. There's this guy called Eragon, he's a goodie, who finds dragon egg which hatched for him making him a dragon rider. Evil king want to capture the dragon and Eragon so the run away with this dude called Brom to find more good guys. Couple of people die, Eragon picks up a few whiffs and strays, meets the other good guys and have a mini battle. Eldest mainly deals with the aftermath of the mini battle and Eragon's training by the elves so he can beat the evil king another battle that has a wicked twist at the end and now you've interrupted me and I have seven pages for two of the characters to get there act together and get together before I throttle the author, AND YOU WONT LET ME FINISH!" Greg sulked before noticing that only Sara was listening.
Sara ruffled his hair slightly before standing to grab another coffee, leaving Greg to finish his book.
Several minutes later Grissom entered the break room. "You might as well go guys, Vegas is having a slow night."
Everyone left the break room and headed for the lockers, Greg still glued to his book. Sara watched as Greg stopped suddenly, flicked a few paged then turned to look at Sara.
"It's finished." Greg sulked.
"Good," Sara said taking the book from him.
"But they didn't get together."
Sara rolled her eyes as she looked at the other CSI. "There's always the next book."
"But what if it doesn't happen then?" Greg asked.
"It will." Sara said with a smile
"How do you know?"
Sara stepped closer t him and kissed his lips softly. "Because eventuallypeople always end up with whom they are meant to."
Guess thats kinda right for the sandles right now lol...Let me know what you think.
