Pairing: Basically any couple. There's no reference to anyone in particular.
A/N: I wrote this for my Litclass cuz we had to write a skeleton which is basically when you're given a group of sentence and you have to add other sentences to the ones you're given in order to make a story. This one's mine. I wrote it like this so its pretty vague couple wise. Hope you enjoy!
Recollections of A Tortured Soul
He stood alone, gazing into the merging colors on the horizon. The different shades had all combined to form a purplish glow in the sky. Clear, sparkling water stretched out as far as he could see and the setting sun's rays reflected off of it, nearly blinding him.
The tide was creeping in, erasing the footprints he had left in the sand. He had come a long way, about three miles perhaps, walking along the beach. The reason for this trek was now lost to him for he was consumed in his own thoughts, neither recognizing nor caring where he was or was headed. Tearing his eyes away from the dazzling water before him, he continued on walking. The beach curved away into the slowly growing darkness as if it were testing him whether he dared to continue any further into the mystery of what lay ahead.
He had been walking for some time now but for exactly how long he did not know. How long until the moon rose, he wondered silently, for when he had left the sun was just reaching its high point in the sky. The mesmerizing sound of the waves had caused him to lose track of time but it could not erase the thoughts that were plaguing his mind.
They agonized him, threatening to tear his heart apart like rough, careless hands with fragile paper then letting the pieces go to drift aimlessly in the wind. Or maybe they already have drifted off, he thought as another wave crashed against the nearby rocks. A pang of emotion shot through his body as everything came rushing back to him with a vengeance, sharpening each moment more vividly with pain and just then the purpose of his walk became meaningless to him, whatever it had been. He no longer wanted to keep on going, not like this. He just wanted to know one thing. Why? Why did she have to die?
