Chapter Seven

Marinette stared at the screen, the Ladyblog staring back at her. Her fingers drummed against the desk, Tikki asleep on a small cushion next to her. It was late at night, and she should probably be in bed, but instead she was scrolling through the blog, eyes narrowed as she struggled against a yawn.

The main focus on the Ladyblog at the moment was Alya's most recent interview of Ladybug and Rena Rouge– the first interview with the Fox hero. It hadn't been a simple set up, with them having to cut a few times so Trixx could recharge and they could maintain the illusion– but it was unnoticeable with how Alya always edited her videos and interviews, often having cuts to clips with fights or pictures that had been submitted, leaving her interview looking flawless.

What had Marinette's focus though, was some of the recent submissions from the last few nights.

Images of something flying through the sky, having been submitted as a report as a possible akuma, some claiming a return of Dark Cupid– but none of them had gone anywhere. Alya had been excited with the first submission, but had grown exasperated– because there had been no attack of any kind. Akumas never hid, and usually made declarations for Ladybug to come and fight them, and so when the night was nothing but quiet Alya had decided it was a faked report and had taken the images down.

Fortunately Marinette was an admin on the Ladyblog, meaning that she had access to the images even though the public didn't, and she found herself studying them.

It wasn't the first time false akuma reports had been made– but this wasn't one submission. There had been three separate ones made, all of them with different photos, and all of them taken at night. Yes it could have been the same person making the reports, or a group of friends, but Marinette couldn't help but feel maybe it was something.

One photo had been submitted the first night, and two the following. All of them were of a winged silhouette, but it was too dark to make out any more details. The first picture showed the figure against the night sky, blotting out the few stars that could be seen through the Paris lights. It could have been easily photoshopped, yes, just take an image of Dark Cupid and darken it so it looked like shadows, and paste it across any picture.

But it wasn't of Dark Cupid– Dark Cupid's wings had been sharp and angled, almost like a falcon– while the figure in this picture carried what looked to be much more rounded and broad. Dark Cupid had lacked any feathers, his wing structure being simple and clearly reliant on magic to get into the air, while this picture showed something much more complex.

Either the person who had made this fake akuma had spent a lot of time on the images– or what they were looking at wasn't faked.

But what would Hawk Moth do with an akuma that didn't attack? What was the point of sending it out at night? Was it one looking for her on patrol? Clearly it hadn't wanted to be spotted considering the slim number of people who had seen it... so what was it doing?

All in all, Marinette decided that she needed to be more careful when out and about– akuma attack or not.

The next morning Ladybug and Rena Rouge found themselves swinging into an akuma battle once more– the first one in over a week since Frozer's attack. The two heroes had been slightly late as normal, Ladybug having to delay her appearance to run and grab the Fox Miraculous and to find Alya.

Paris didn't seem to mind, though, letting out loud cheers as they swung into battle the newest and perhaps the most strange akuma Ladybug had seen yet. It had been something she hadn't thought was possible, but Hawk Moth never ceased to amaze her.

Who knew a robot could be akumatized?

"You humans will not oppress us!" Robustus cried from his car-robot-machine. "Just because we are not carbon-based beings does not mean we cannot feel!"

"We understand that, Mar– Robustus," Ladybug cried. "And it was wrong that you were separated from your friends– but you, Kim, and Max are united now, isn't that what you wanted? There's no more reason to attack!"

"You think that fixes what happened?" Robustus snarled at her. "No, from now on it will be robots and technology that rule Paris: me, Max, and Kim at its head!"

"Is that what they want?" Rena asked, landing at Ladybug's side, gesturing to the two boys Robustus had managed to snatch away in his mech made up of various vehicles he had brought to life. Kim and Max were sitting close to each other, Max looked very on edge, while Kim was grinning from ear to ear.

"You know nothing about my humans!"

"Um, Ladybug– cars chasing a crowd," Rena muttered, nodding down towards the streets.

Ladybug gritted her teeth. "The sooner we stop Robustus the sooner all of this comes to an end. If we pause to stop all the technology Robustus brings to life then he'll only bring to life more in that time. Let's go."

They took off running across the roofs, trying to keep up with the giant mech Robustus had created, which appeared to be heading towards the football stadium.

"We should try to distract him," Rena said, grabbing her flute. "I'll make an illusion, one big enough to–"

Ladybug shook her head. "Illusions probably won't work with robots, they might fool cameras, but Markov... this robot has high tech. Facial recognition, an AI advanced enough to feel emotions... I'm pretty sure that he will be able to figure out what's going on if something big or out of place pops up. If you use your magic it will have to be something small– something he won't be suspicious of."

"Oh," Rena said, jumping over a chimney. "Why did you grab my Miraculous then? If my powers won't be that helpful."

Ladybug kept her gaze straight ahead. "I like fighting better with a partner rather than being alone."

"Oh," Rena said, voice a bit higher. "Well, um– f-fighting alongside you Ladybug, is an honor."

She flashed the Fox-heroine a smile. "Not as much of an honor as it's been fighting alongside you, Kit."

Rena stumbled across the roofs, letting out a small yelp, one that didn't sound quite human. It was adorable though, and as much as Ladybug wanted to look at her beautiful friend she had to keep her focus on the akuma– who had gone straight for the football stadium like she had thought.

The two of them pause at the edge of a building, Ladybug trying to figure out what they should do next, while Rena Rouge composed herself. The stadium was a good place for a fight– it was usually evacuated during akuma fights meaning she could fight without worrying about civilians being caught in the crossfire. However Max and Kim would both be there-though she was confident that Markov would protect them from any harm.

The real issue was the technology that was being brought to life all over the city– chasing and attacking humans. She couldn't be everywhere at once though, so she and Rena needed to take out this akuma quickly.

"Am I interrupting anything, ladies?" A voice asked from above, and Ladybug felt herself stiffening up. She grabbed her yoyo, spinning about to find the source of the voice, only for a shadow to fall across her.

Ladybug heard the sound of wind rushing, and as she turned her head she caught the sight of bright blue. Rena drew her flute, while she started spinning her yoyo about as a shield, ready to confront who she was sure was a robot or some form of technology that Robustus had brought to life.

Instead she was met with a very human-like figure swooping through the air, landing with ease on a chimney not far from them. The figure gave her a smile that belonged on a magazine, eyes gleaming. Her first thought would have been fear– but with the smile on his face she took the look in his eyes as a smug confidence.

The boy seemed to be just about their age, blond hair messy and wild in the wind. The tips of his hair were dyed a light blue, a mask of the same color covering his face. In his hands sat a fan made of royal blue feathers, the ends of the fan tip with blades of cobalt. His outfit took on a lighter blue hue– but his entire appearance was dwarfed by the two stunning turquoise wings that unfurled from his back.

This had to be the 'akuma' people had spotted. But there couldn't be two akumas out at once...

"Who are you?" Rena asked, glancing at Ladybug questioningly. "Is that another Miraculous holder?"

Ladybug's eyes widened slightly, and her eyes swiftly scanned the winged figure, her gaze settling on his chest. Pinned to the center was a brooch, indigo with five segments angled downwards. Ladybug felt her mouth go dry.

"...The Peacock Miraculous," Ladybug muttered, looking at the unmistakable feathers on the boy's wings, the primaries carrying the signature eyespots of a peacock.

Rena perked up. "Another ally?"

The boy snapped his fan shut. "The name's Blue Wing, and while I am an ally, I'm afraid I'm not your ally."

"The Peacock Miraculous was lost years ago," Ladybug replied, chills running down her back. "Alongside the Butterfly."

Rena's eyes widened in realization.

Blue Wing took in a deep breath, before holding out a hand, his feathery wings shifting. "Why don't you give me the Miraculous, Ladybug?"

He spoke with confidence, like a performer up on stage, and Ladybug resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

"I'm afraid I've answered this question many times before," she snapped, sending her yoyo flying at him. "And it's a no!"

With several flaps of his wings, Blue Wing took to the air once more, easily avoiding her attack. He let out a delighted laugh as he swooped about, before he gracefully landed on a nearby roof. He closed his eyes, a slight breeze rushing by, and as he opened them there was a soft smile on his face.

"And can I just say, flying is the best thing ever?" Blue Wing said, his eyes sweeping back towards them, and he expanded his fan.

"How does he have wings?" Rena Rouge asked.

"...I have no idea," Ladybug replied.

"You know what else as wings?" Blue Wing asked, plucking a feather from his fan. "A little friend of mine." He enclosed the feather in a fist, blue light pulsing about it. "Enhance!"

Energy pulsed about the feather, which he released in the wind. Ladybug's eyes followed as the feather drifted through the air, flying off towards the football stadium. She had no idea what the Peacock Miraculous did, as Master Fu had never seen a point in telling her about one that wasn't not in their hands, but yet her stomach was already curling up as it flew off towards Robustus and his mech.

Energy bubbled above the mech, a figure materializing from within. It almost looked like when an akuma butterfly claimed a victim– yet it was appearing out of thin air. A loud screech echoed out from the stadium, the thing flaring open a pair of metallic wings, silver and red flashing in the distance as it took to the air. Ladybug recognized the creature immediately– something that most certainly shouldn't be real.

"Is that a... Skarmory?" Rena said, gaping at the bird as it came soaring towards them.

"I can make Pokemon!" Blue Wing said with glee, an almost child-like grin on his face. "Isn't that awesome? Too bad Rena here isn't a Vulpix– I'm sure a fire type move would be nice right now!"

The large Skarmory let out a screech that sounded like the scraping of metal, its talons glowing with a metallic light as it came diving down right at them. The two female heroes shared a glance– before scattering in different directions as the Skarmory slashed at them with a Metal Claw attack.

This was bad– this was really, really bad. Not only did they have the akuma and his entire robot army, but a new Miraculous wielding enemy that could apparently summon Pokemon? How was that a power? But most importantly, what had been a two-on-one fight had gone to a two-on-three– with their two new enemies having the power of flight on their side.

"Go after the akuma!" Rena cried as Ladybug's eyes flickered between their current enemy and the new one. "I'll hold them off!"

The thought of leaving Rena to fight on her own sent a pulse of fear through Ladybug, but she knew that Rena was right. She gave a tense nod, before throwing her yoyo to go after Robustus. She heard the Peacock holder yell something, but as she turned her head to look back she just watched as the Fox heroine gracefully dodged each of the Air Cutters released from the Skarmory, the attack made from what seemed to be pressurized blades of air.

Her partner had this handled just fine.

Nino's current relationship when it came to Miraculouses was complicated at best at the moment– but even when he heard rumors of a new hero showing up at the latest akuma fight he couldn't help but be curious, so as he saw the Miraculous Ladybugs be released across the city he made his way out from his hiding spot in the school, following his class to try to find Kim, Max, Markov, and the blue figure that had been seen near the stadium during the fight.

He was a bit surprised that Alya wasn't among their class, but he was sure that she had run off the moment she had caught word of an akuma to record the fight, probably wanted to get the new hero on film since she hadn't been the first one to record Rena Rouge.

"I'm so sorry for all the damage I caused," Markov was whirling as they reached Max and Kim. Max was holding the robot close, and in turn Kim had his arms wrapped around Max.

"It's not your fault, bud," Max said with a smile. "A hundred percent of akuma victims have no control over what they did, there's nothing to be sorry for."

Nino couldn't help but glance around whenever he heard words like this– as if someone were to point him out and let the world know that he had been a willing akuma. It was strange how he could feel guilty about what he had done, and yet feel no regret for it. He had to remind himself that as long as he kept his mouth shut that no one would know what he had done. This was just between him and Papillon– not even Hawk Moth knew.

He hoped.

"Don't a hundred percent of akumas also forget the sensation of akumatization?" Markov asked, hovering in the air. "Because I recall all moments of being under Hawk Moth's influence."

Nino glanced at the robot as he said this, and tried to move his way closer towards Max to listen to the conversation. Sure, if a robot and humans were different, but if someone else had remembered like him that had to mean something... had Papillon been the one to akumatize Markov? Was this–?

"Well, the way you record memories is different from humans," Max said thoughtfully. "You record information and store it in your hard drive, perhaps the magic involved with akumas couldn't affect that like it did normal memories?"

"You get to remember?" Kim said with a grin. "That's awesome, Markov. What did Hawk Moth say to you? Learn anything interesting?"

Markov considered the question. "He did not say much to me. Just repeatedly demanded I get the Miraculous, and wouldn't let me ask him questions. Why does he want the Miraculous?"

Nino let out a sigh.

"There he is!" Someone cried. "The new hero, the one in blue!"

All eyes flickered upwards, looking towards the rooftops to try to catch sight of the new masked figure that had been spotted, but yet the roofs were empty. Nino's eyes widened as he looked to the sky instead, watching the figure gliding overhead. The boy kept glancing over his shoulder, where Ladybug and Rena Rouge were following a ways behind him on the roofs.

The boy circled around, wings working as he swooped down towards a lamppost, carefully landing on top. He had no eyes for the forming crowd below, panting slightly as he looked back at the masked females making their way across the rooftops, wings fluttering.

"Hero?" Kim said, frowning. "What are they talking about?"

Max's eyes widened. "You guys are mistaken, we need to–!"

His voice was drowned out by the excited Parisians though, phones out to take a picture of the winged human. There were whispers and awes, but several people were calling out to get the boy's attention, who flinched slightly at the calls. He turned to look down at them, eyes sweeping across the crowd. Even from his perch Nino could see the apprehension in his gaze, looking down at the people, and then at heroes on the roof in the distance.

No one else seemed to notice this though, all instantly caught away in his breathtaking appearance– which Nino could easily understand. Like all the masked heroes he was clearly animal themed, this boy clearly being a bird. A light blue mask sat across his face, the tip that ran down over his nose resembling that of a beak. His entire outfit was blue, from the sky blue tips of his wild blond hair, down to the deep indigo of his boots.

His apparel looked to be somewhere between a super suit and a tux, not the sleek costumes that the female heroes wore, but not quite what you would find at a masquerade ball. His outfit was a bold blue, while his belt and gloves were a light green. A feathered fan hung from his belt, and on his chest was a purple brooch.

The most impressive of all though were his wings– and unlike Rena's ears and tail they weren't just that of a costume, but actual feathered wings. Bright turquoise feathers that faded into green, glimmering in the sunlight. At the ends of each feather was a black eyespot. Like how Rena's tail coat looked like a fox tail, the tail coat on this hero seemed to be mimicking a peacock tail.

"Are you like Rena Rouge? A new hero for Paris?" Someone called out, aiming a phone up at the boy.

"How are you able to fly?"

"What's your name?"

"Where did you come from?"

The questions were thrown at him one right after another, and despite the hesitant look in the boy's eyes the questions didn't seem to overwhelm him. He just blinked once, shifting his wings to help him stay balanced on top of his light post, looking once more at the approaching heroes– before looking down at everyone with the most brilliant smile.

The fearful look in his eyes remained.

"Hello, Paris," the boy beamed, clearly aware that people were recording him, and Nino stiffened up. "I'm afraid that I don't have too long, nor can I answer all your questions. My name though, I can give you: I am Blue Wing, wielder of the Peacock Miraculous."

Nino knew that voice.

"You can't trust him!" Markov cried, zipping up above the crowd, robotic voice rising in volume. "He's not a hero! He was helping Hawk Moth!"

Everyone was quiet at Markov's declaration, eyes shifting between the small robot and back to the winged Miraculous holder– whose stunning-yet-fake smile had shifted towards a mischievous grin, giving a small shrug.

"Well, I couldn't have said it better myself, little robot," Blue Wing said, going into a small bow. "I am proud to say that I will be joining Hawk Moth in the fight for Ladybug's Miraculous, and I hope to be able to take to Paris' skies again in the future."

What was he doing?!

Nino had to bite back the 'Papillon' that almost escaped his lips, taking a step forward as the rest of the crowd stood frozen at his declaration. Blue Wing's eyes flickered towards the movement, his gaze settling on Nino, and he paused. The two held eye contact for a moment, and he could see the recognition in Papillon's... or well, Blue Wing's... gaze, and Nino glowered right back.

"Blue Wing!" A loud voice bellowed– and Nino couldn't help but jump back. All eyes shifted towards Ladybug and Rena Rouge landed on the roof above Blue Wing. "Let's keep this simple," the heroine snarled, yoyo in hand. "If you hand over your Miraculous right now I will make sure nothing is held against you. Give it up, and walk away– we don't have to be enemies."

"Ladybug!" Blue Wing beamed, holding his hands out. "Nice to see you again, I must say, I am a fan!" He drew his fan from his belt, letting it flare open alongside his wings. "Get it? Fan? Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't give you this Miraculous– it's not mine to give away."

Her eyes narrowed. "...So Hawk Moth did have it this whole time? Well, it wasn't his to keep or to hand out. I don't know what he told you, but–"

"Well, you know what they say, finders keepers," Blue Wing said lightly. "I mean, according to my kwami she and the Butterfly were abandoned for years... what makes you think you have a claim to them?"

"I don't think you have the right to say that considering that your goal is to steal mine," she growled, eyes narrowing.

He shrugged. "Look, we could sit here all day and talk– but let's be honest. I made an avatar, you summoned your charm, Rena there used her illusions– we're all on a timer here. So we could bicker and show all of Paris who we are, or we could pick this up next time Hawk Moth sends out an akuma."

Ladybug's reply was sending her yoyo flying down at Blue Wing, who immediately began flapping his wings. He rose up into the air, easily avoiding the yoyo as it wrapped around the lamp post, giving them a true appreciation of his wingspan as he swooped up towards the sky. It had to be at least twenty feet across– if not more. His feathers shimmered in the sunlight, the flight almost blinding as he rose above the buildings.

Ladybug looked ready to go after him as Blue Wing took off away from the small crowd, but Rena laid a hand on her arm. The two heroes shared a look, ignoring the burst of confusion that erupted from everyone that had been watching. Questions were thrown out towards Ladybug, each one lost in the shouts of their neighbor, but she paid them no heed. She simply threw her yoyo off in the opposite direction the Peacock had taken off in, an arm around Rena as she pulled them up into the air, swinging away without a word.

Nino's eyes remained locked on the fading figure of Blue Wing, for the first time being able to pair a face to Papillon... but the sheer shock was what overwhelmed him. The way the boy had spoken, so lax and cheery, was nothing like the hesitant Papillon he had met when he had been akumatized, but yet the look in his eyes, the sound of his voice... Nino knew that they were one and the same.

"What are you doing?" Nino muttered, watching as the blue figure flew out of sight.

He told himself that this shouldn't be something he should worry himself over– it's not like he could tell Ladybug how he knew how the boy was connected to Hawk Moth... that would involve explaining his conversation with Papillon while akumatized and why he could remember and... and that was not a can of worms he was about to open.

This was a fight between Hawk Moth and Ladybug, just like how it was always going to be– sometimes others got dragged into it, but he was not one of them. He had been an akuma, a temporary fighter who now had no more connections to the happenings of this magical fight in the city. He was not Rena Rouge or Papillon who had decided to don a Miraculous to join the fight– this was not his problem.

But did Hawk Moth's son even have a choice in all of this...?

After all, what kind of father sends his son out to fight heroes, while he himself stays hidden behind an akuma?

"Not your problem," Nino muttered to himself as he walked down the street, the crowd starting to disperse. "You already helped him by becoming an akuma– nothing else you can do, dude."

Hawk Moth's son had a different Miraculous now, so that meant no more akumas would be seeking him out. He had no way to help him unless he were to somehow get a Miraculous of his own...

"Nope!" Nino shouted, trying to shove the thoughts from his mind. "Nope, not even going to go there!"

But if he did have a Miraculous...

"I've been waiting for you, Ladybug."

"Master Fu," Marinette said as she entered the small massage parlor, holding her bag close. "I'm so sorry I wasn't able to come sooner, but my parents were worried sick when they caught word that I was about when the new villain arrived and–"

The man held up his hand to silence her, smiling softly. "There is nothing to apologize for, you have done nothing wrong. Come now, we have much to discuss."

She followed him to the back of the parlor, and from her purse Tikki and Trixx flew out from her bag, the two kwamis going to greet Roaar, the three little creatures flying about each other, letting out small chime-like sounds. Master Fu waved for Marinette to sit, and she took her normal place on the mat as Master Fu sat across from her. The kwamis then zipped down to join them, all silent as the old Guardian closed his eyes.

"I was hoping that the Peacock was to remain lost," Master Fu said with a sigh– and all the kwamis burst out talking at once in protest. He opened one eye, silencing them with a glance. "Not that I wished for Duusu to remain separated from us– but it's a cruel fate for a kwami to be bound to a corrupt holder."

"But now we know where both Duusu and Nooroo are," Tikki said, zipping forward. "We can save both of them!"

"And Marinette here is now fighting an uphill battle," Master Fu finished, hand going to touch the Miraculous on his wrist. "Two Miraculouses in the wrong hands is dangerous enough– but both of them have the abilities to summon allies. Do you realize what this means? These fights have gone from Ladybug versus an akuma; to Ladybug fighting an akuma, the Peacock holder, their avatar, and Hawk Moth himself if he ever so chooses to join the fight. That is one against four, and I am much too old to join with her in a battle. I would be more of a liability than an ally."

Marinette's mouth went dry.

"Me and my holder should join full time, then!" Trixx said, paws curling.

"Absolutely not," Master Fu snapped. "Putting another Miraculous out permanently is too much of a risk. If you need an ally you need to continue returning the Miraculous to me each time."

"I understand, Master," Marinette said, carefully pulling the Fox Miraculous out from her purse to give to the older man. She was used to fighting battles alone, and it wasn't as if he was saying she could have no allies.

"No!" Trixx cried, zipping forward to try to pull her pendant away. "Let me stay active! Let me help! You can't have her fighting on her own!"

"Your Miraculous is not partnered with the Ladybug," Fu replied.

"Then send out Plagg!"

"That is the last thing we should be doing."

"This isn't fair! You can't expect her to do this on her own!"

"I'm not on my own, Trixx," Marinette said with a smile. "I have Tikki, I have Master Fu, and when I need it, I have Alya and you."

The Fox looked distressed. "It would be easier if there was someone else full time!"

"Easier does not mean safer," Roaar said.

Trixx's tail puffed up, her blue eyes bright. "You're just saying that because you and Tikki are full time– but you aren't doing any fighting! You and Master are just sitting here–"

"I need this Miraculous on standby in case I'm attacked," Master Fu snapped. "Perhaps I cannot fight– but the invisibility of the Tiger can help me slip away." He closed his eyes, letting out a sigh. "Perhaps Ladybug being the sole permanent holder in this fight isn't ideal, but if Hawk Moth were to get his hands on all of the Miraculous then this fight would be over."

"But–"

"Trixx, I renounce you," Master Fu said, summoning the Fox back into the pendant. The kwami turned into a burst of golden light as she was drawn back in, and Fu looked down at it for a moment. "His heart is in the right place, but he is much too rash. We need to approach this battle against Hawk Moth carefully." He took in a deep breath. "Now, I believe I should fully explain the powers of the Peacock to you."

"Blue Wing was able to create a Skarmory," Marinette said, and Master Fu gave her a confused look. "Um... a metallic bird? He called it an 'avatar'."

"The power of the Peacock is to bring Emotions to life and give it powers and a physical form– usually that of an animal," Master Fu said. "Similar to the Butterfly the powers of the Peacock are hosted in an object– in this case a feather called an amok. The Peacock holder controls the avatar, and if the holder so wishes they can let whoever holds the amok control the creature as well."

"What can an avatar do?"

"They're just as diverse as akumas are, though their abilities are typically more based on their appearances rather than unique powers. Destroy the amok, and you destroy the avatar. The Peacock user can retract the amok at will as well," he passed the Fox Miraculous from hand to hand. "I consulted the Turtle kwami, Wayzz, and he did not sense any strange auras upon its activation, so I doubt the amoks will need purifying like the akuma butterflies do."

"Okay," Marinette said, trying to keep track of this new information. "Um... wings. He has wings and can fly... is that normal for Peacock holders?"

"It is a possibility for all Miraculouses based on creatures with wings," Fu replied. "It simply means that this holder is a good match for Emotions."

"But– but he's evil–!"

"Unfortunately such things do not take intentions into account," Tikki said, holding out her paws.

"It is simply a trait gained when a holder aligns well with a given concept," Roaar explained.

Marinette bit her tongue, glancing at Tikki and Fu. "Um... ladybugs have wings, don't they?" She asked uncertainly, and Tikki looked away. "Am... Am I not the best holder Tikki could have?"

"No!" Tikki cried, zipping towards her. "Don't you dare think that for a moment, Marinette– you are one of the best Ladybugs I have had!"

"Your Miraculous is part of a duo," Roaar said, drifting forward. "Without your other half your powers are... well, limited, in some regards."

"You have access to purification and your Cure works wonders," Fu replied. "That is what this city needs. You are what this city needs. Do not doubt yourself for a moment, Ladybug– this city would be in ruins without you."

Marinette swallowed, nodding.

"I want you to tread carefully from now on," Master Fu said, looking up at her. "Unlike when an akuma is purified, the Peacock will remain your enemy, and he can follow you."

Marinette hesitated. "If it means anything, he mentioned he was on a timer as well?"

Fu paused at this– looking deeply disturbed.

"...Master?"

"That means he is young, that his body can't fully handle magic," he hesitated. "But if he's a child... this is very disturbing, but it may also be working in his favor..."

"Sir?"

"Nothing," Master Fu said quickly. "It means you should destroy the avatar quickly in fights– once the amok is freed his timer should begin."

"...Okay," Marinette said.

"You should get home," Fu replied, and she pushed herself to her feet. "I am sure you are in need of plenty of rest."

Adrien would use the Peacock Miraculous to create Pokemon, and you can't convince me otherwise.
