Thief: Mary Shore

Wind blows into a window. Curtains rustle. Mary Shore looks out the window. The night is young for Mary Shore.

Footsteps are heard out the window. Mary is uneasy. She listens again. Yes, definitely footsteps. The night is young for Mary Shore.

The candle blows out. Darkness fills the room. Mary is frightened. Suddenly Mary sees a shadow move. The night is young for Mary Shore.

A voice is heard. A male voice. "No need for fear Mary. I make my business quick." Movement next to Mary. Mary is scared even more. The night is young for Mary Shore.

Footsteps are heard outside the window again. Mary lights a candle. Light floods the room. No one there except Mary. Her tiny room looked somehow bare though. Something was missing. The night is young for Mary Shore.

She runs to the window to see a dark figure climb over the roof. She turns to face the inside of her room. Looking directly in front of her she sees her fireplace. Above it, was where her most precious value was. But the stand where it was, was bare. Mary let out a gasp. The night was young for Mary Shore.
