(Oh, this is Dumbledore speaking Cedric's eulogy at his funeral... I know it didn't actually happen in the book... but... you love me, so bear with me.)

((Angst ahead, you have been warned...))

He died with fire in his eyes:

"There was once a boy named Cedric Amos Diggory. He was a good boy, a kind boy, a smart boy. He was loyal and hard working- a true Hufflepuff. He was much respected by his peers, and was loved well by all, especially those who admired him most; his fellow Hufflepuff students.

They all looked up to Cedric as someone they wanted to be; a Hogwart's Champion, a brilliant student and an exceptional man. He was an inspiration to them because of all these reasons, but also because he was a Hufflepuff.

Hufflepuff has always been seen as the weakest of the Hogwart's Houses. This saddens me. Hufflepuff's are not weak. They are caring to all, even those who scorn them.

Cedric was proud of his House. He was proud to be classed as loyal and hard working. He was not weak. He was strong, he was reliable and he was polite. He was happy, he was bright and he was full of life and laughter. He was radiant, he was encouraging, and he loved. He was worthy.

But what you may not have known about him was that he was also very, very brave.

Yet he died, I hear you say, if he was so brave, why did he die... why did he not defeat what had sought to destroy him if he was so wonderful?

The only answer I can give to that is... no one is safe. No one is immortal. No one is eternal. We must learn this lesson, this crucial, fatal, essential lesson. For if we do not, then Cedric's death, and the deaths of so many more before him, some of whom were older and wiser, will all be for naught.

Cedric deserves the best because he is the best. He deserves vengeance and peace and rest and everlasting happiness. And he can only get that if we take heed to his downfall.

You may want to know what my proof is, that Cedric was so masterly and significant and precious. Well, my friends, look around you know. Look around at the hundreds who have come to say their final goodbyes to this loyal boy who loved us all.

And if that is not enough, then believe me when I say that he died with the fire of valour and courage and glory and life burning in his eyes.

We loved you Cedric. And we shall never forget that you were worthy. We shall never forget that you were our champion. We shall never forget that you were Hufflepuff; pride and joy and hope and love.

We shall never forget that you died with fire in you eyes."

Fin.

Hope you enjoyed. WE LOVE YOU CEDRIC! Please review and tell me your opinion.

Much love, FireAtWill52
