As they flew through space, Anakin sat in the cockpit with Ric Olié, learning the controls for the spacecraft.
"Those are the forward stabilizers." Olié says
"And those two control the pitch?" Anakin says pointing to the lever
Olié looks right at Anakin, impressed with his knowledge of ship controls.
"You catch on pretty quick." Olié says
In the royal throne room, Devon, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Jar Jar, Captain Panaka, and Queen Amidala held a meeting to discuss their plan about liberating the planet of Naboo. The queen was willing to fight for her people's freedom, but there were a few problems with her plan. The first major problem was that they had no army to fight against the Trade Federation's droid army.
"As soon as we land, they will arrest you and force you to sign the treaty." Panaka says
"I agree. I'm not sure what you wish to accomplish by this." Qui-Gon says
"I will take back what's ours." Queen Amidala says
"There are too few of us, Your Highness. We have no army." Panaka says
"And I can only protect you. I cannot fight a war for you." Qui-Gon says
"There must be a solution we can use." Devon says
Queen Amidala turns her attention toward Jar Jar, who stood next to the two Jedi and Keyblade Wielder. She remembered him mentioning an army of Gungans, who were warriors in their own right. If they were to have an army to combat the Trade Federation's droid army, this was it.
"Jar Jar Binks." Queen Amidala says
Jar Jar steps forward
"Mesa, Your Highness?" Jar Jar says pointed to himself
"Yes. I need your help." Queen Amidala says
(Naboo)
The silver starship soon entered the system of Naboo and notice that the blockade was no longer surrounding the planet. Devon, Obi-Wan, and Captain Panaka joined Ric Olié in the cockpit as they look out towards the planet.
"The blockade's gone." Devon says
"The Federation have control of the planet now. There's no need for the blockade." Obi-Wan says
"I have one Trade Federation ship on my scope." Olié says
An image of the battleship, Vuutun Palaa, appears on the ship display.
"It's a droid control ship." Obi-Wan says
"They've probably spotted us." Panaka says
"We haven't much time." Obi-Wan says
The ship flies down to the surface of the planet and disappears beneath the trees as the silver vessel lands in the Lianorm swamp.
Once they land, Jar Jar heads for Otoh Gunga while everyone else waited near the ship. Qui-Gon stood not far from the ship, staring out into the swampland when Obi-Wan approaches him from behind.
"Jar Jar is on his way to the Gungan city, Master." Obi-Wan says
"Good." Qui-Gon says
"Do you think the queen's idea will work?" Obi-Wan asks
"The Gungans will not be easily swayed. We cannot use our power to help her." Qui-Gon says
"I'm-I'm sorry for my behavior, Master. It's not my place to disagree with you about the boy. And I am grateful that you think I am ready to take the trials." Obi-Wan says
"You've been a good apprentice, Obi-Wan. And you're a much wiser man than I am. I foresee you will become a great Jedi Knight." Qui-Gon says
Jar Jar wades out of Lake Paonga and walks up to Devon, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Captain Panaka near the shore while Queen Amidala, Padmé, Anakin, R2-D2, the handmaidens and guards stood nearby.
"Desa nobody dare. Da Gungan city is deserted. Some kinda fight, mesa tinks." Jar Jar says
"Do you think they have been taken to the camps?" Obi-Wan asks looking at his master
"More likely they were wiped out." Panaka says
"Mesa no tink so." Jar Jar says
"Do you know where they are, Jar Jar?" Devon asks
"When in trouble, Gungans go to sacred place. Mesa show you. C'mon, mesa show you!" Jar Jar says
The group soon began following Jar Jar as he led them to elsewhere into the swamp.
As they followed Jar Jar through the swamp, the group encountered Captain Roos Tarpals and a few of his Gungan warriors. They were then led to the Sacred Place, where rest of the Gungans were currently sheltered.
The Sacred Place was an ancient monument built by the Elders of Naboo long ago and was used by the Gungans as sanctuary for troubled times, such as the invasion of Trade Federation. Large stone heads were half sunk in the swamp.
Captain Tarpals rode on his kaadu and presented the group to Boss Nass.
"Your honor, Queen Amidala of da Naboo." Tarpals says
The group steps forward while Jar Jar greets the Gungan leader, who was standing with the rest of his council on the largest stone head merged by roots into a tree infront of them.
"Uh... h-heyo dadee, Big Boss Nass, Your Honor." Jar Jar says
"Jar Jar Binks, Who's da uss-en uthers?" Nass asks
"I am Queen Amidala of the Naboo. I come before you in peace."
"Ah, Naboo biggun. Yousa bringen da Mackineeks. Yousa all bombad." Nass says
"We have searched you out because we wish to form an alliance." Queen Amidala says
Suddenly, Padmé steps forward.
"Your Honor." Padmé says
"Tkk-tkk-tkk-tkk-tkk. Whosa dis?" Nass asks gesturing to Padmé with his hands
"I am Queen Amidala." Padmé says
This took everyone by surprise, especially Devon.
"What?" Devon says surprised
Padmé gestures her left-hand over to the queen, who was actually one of the handmaidens named Sabé in disguise.
"This is my decoy, my protection, my loyal bodyguard. I am sorry for my deception, but it was necessary to protect myself. Although we do not always agree, Your Honor, our two great societies have always lived in peace." Padmé says
"Ah." Nass says
"The Trade Federation has destroyed all that we have worked so hard to build. If we do not act quickly, all will be lost forever. I ask you to help us. No, I beg you to help us." Padmé says
Padmé drops down to her knees and kneels before the Gungan leader. Devon summons Soul Calibur into his right-hand, turns it over, stabs it to the ground, and kneels in submission. The rest of the group follow their example and kneels to the ground.
"We are your humble servants. Our fate is in your hands." Padmé says
Boss Nass rubs his chin and thinks for a moment. Jar Jar whimpered a little bit, unsure of what the Gungan leader would do next. Suddenly, Boss Nass started laughing loudly.
"Yousa no tinken yousa greater den da Gungans?" Nass says surprised
The Gungan leader chuckles.
"Me-e-esa lika dis! Maybe wesa bein friends." Nass says
Boss Nass seals the alliance by shaking his head and blubbering. All the Gungans cheered while the group rise back up on their feet. Thus, a historic pact between the people of Naboo and the Gungans was formed. Together, they would fight to reclaim their home from the Trade Federation.
In the royal palace of Theed, Nute Gunray and Rune Haako were now with Darth Maul and Lord Drazor, speaking with Darth Sidious and Lord Drazor via holocommunication.
"We've sent our patrols. We have already located their starship in the swamp. It won't be long, my lords." Gunray says
"This is an unexpected move for her. It's too aggressive." Sidious says
"AGREED. THIS COURSE OF ACTION GOES AGAINST HER PEACEFUL NATURE." Lord Thanatos says
"Lord Maul, be mindful. Let them make the first move." Sidious says
"THE SAME GOES FOR YOU, LORD DRAZOR. I SENSE THE KEYBLADE WIELDER IS HERE AS WELL. DESTROY HIM." Lord Thanatos says
"Yes, my master." Darth Maul and Lord Drazor say in unison
In the green fields outside the capital city, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Padmé, and Captain Panaka made a small camp in the tree line of the swamp, making plans to retake the capital city. Devon and Anakin and a Gungan sentry kept a lookout for reinforcements. The two boys was down on the ground while the scout sat on a large statue head, looking out into the environment with Gungan binoculars. Soon, the scout spots the resistance fighters out in the distance.
"Deysa comin!" The Gungan sentry says
"Alright!" Anakin exclaims happily
"Come on, Ani! Let's go!" Devon says
Devon and Anakin rushes back to the camp and informs the group.
"They're here." Anakin says
"Good. They made it." Padmé says
Soon, the resistance fighters of the Naboo Underground arrived in speeders, pulling up to the camp. Boss Nass spoke with Jar Jar as they walked toward the group, patting the ex-exile's right-shoulder.
"Yousa doen grand. Jar Jar bring uss-en and da Naboo together." Nass says
Jar Jar chuckles embarrassed.
"Ah, no, no, no." Jar Jar says
"So, wesa make you bombad General." Nass says
"General!" Jar Jar exclaims surprised
Jar Jar wobbles in his stance and faints from the surprise and the prospect of going into battle, falling on to the ground. Boss Nass laughs and joins Devon, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, R2-D2, and Padmé as they stood together around a speeder, waiting for Captain Panaka to return. Boss Nass comes up and stands alongside Devon on his left. The Gungan leader looks over at the Keyblade Wielder and nods to him. Devon kindly smiles and nods back to him and they turn back toward the meeting. It wasn't long before Captain Panaka returns from his meeting with the resistance leaders.
"Captain." Padmé says
"Your Highness." Panaka says
"What is the situation?" Padmé asks
"Almost everyone's in camps. A few hundred police and guards has formed an underground resistance movement. I brought back as many of the leaders as I could. The Federation army's also much larger than we thought, and much stronger. Your Highness, this is a battle I do not think we can win." Panaka says
"The battle is a diversion. The Gungans must draw the droid army away from the cities." Padmé says
Padmé looks toward R2-D2.
"R2." Padmé says
R2-D2 displays a hologram of the city over the speeder. A red line shows the path that the group will take to infiltrate the city. The starting point was their camp in the green field. And the end point was the Theed Royal Palace.
"We can enter the city using the secret passages on the waterfall side. Once we get to the main entrance, Captain Panaka will create a diversion. Then, we can enter the palace and capture the Viceroy. Without the Viceroy, they will be lost and confused." Padmé says
The young queen looks over at Devon and Qui-Gon.
"What do you think, Devon, Master Jedi?" Padmé asks
Devon crosses his arms and nods in agreement.
"Sounds like a plan." Devon says
"But there is one issue. The Viceroy will be well-guarded." Qui-Gon says
"The difficulty is getting into the throne room. Once we're inside, we shouldn't have a problem." Panaka says
"There is a possibility, with this diversion, many Gungans will be killed." Qui-Gon says
"Wesa ready to do our-san part." Nass says
"We have a plan which should immobilize the droid army. We will send what pilots we have to knock out the droid control ship orbiting the planet." Padmé says
"A well-conceived plan, however there's great risk. The weapons on your fighters may not penetrate the shields." Qui-Gon says
"And there is an even greater danger. If the Viceroy escapes, Your Highness, he will return with another droid army." Obi-Wan says
"Well, that is why we must not fail to get the Viceroy. Everything depends on it." Padmé says
"Let's do this." Devon says
In the royal palace, Gunray and Haako spoke with Darth Sidious and Lord Thanatos via hologram. Darth Maul and Lord Drazor were with them as they walked through the hallways of the palace.
"She is more foolish than we thought." Sidious says
"We are sending all troops to intercept this army assembling in the swamp. It appears to be made up of the natives." Gunray says
"This may prove useful to our advantage." Sidious says
"I have your approval to proceed, then, my lords?" Gunray says
"Wipe them out." Sidious says
"ALL OF THEM." Lord Thanatos says
Author's Note: Short chapter I know, but we're getting close to the end of Star Wars Episode I. The group arrives back on Naboo and forms an alliance with the Gungans. Now they all work together to liberate Naboo from Darth Maul, Lord Drazor and the Trade Federation. The plan is formed and now the epic Battle of Naboo shall soon begin.
