Everything was peaceful in the midday hours of Naboo as Lianorm swamp was thick with fog and mist. Suddenly, there was much disturbance in the swamp as the small critters scattered and the Gungan Grand Army emerge out of the misty swamp and out into the Great Grassy Plains of Naboo, only 40 kilometers away from Theed. The army was comprised of Militiagungs, Gungan Guard, Kaadu Cavalry, and Grand Army Officers.
Militiagungs were Gungan citizens pressed into part-time military service, armed with booma-launching Atlatls and personal energy shields.
Otoh Gunga security guards armed with double-bladed electropoles.
The Kaadu Cavalry were Gungans riding Kaadus armed with cestas.
Finally, there were the Captains and Generals, leading individual sections of troops in battle battle and use horns, whistles and gestures to relay orders. Captain Tarpuls and the newly appointed bombad General, Jar Jar Binks were the leaders of the troops.
The Gungan Grand Army also had battle wagons pulled by Falumpasets, large mammals that carried large energy balls for use in catapults and large, lizard-like creatures called Fambaas, which were outfitted with shield generators on their strong backs, following the marching warriors.
Hundreds of Gungan warriors traveled far out into the rolling hills, marching in long lines, but they were still close enough to the swamps to allow a retreat if it came to that.
"Halt!" Tarpals commands
The army of Gungans came to a stop on the grassy plains per Captain Tarpals' order.
"Starting up the shield." Tarpals commands
The Gungan operators on the Fambaas slammed on the controls and activated the shield generators. Waves of plasma traveled from the Fambaas in the front to the those in the back and shoot up in the sky, creating massive domes of strong plasma approximately one kilometer wide each, which would protect the army from any bombardment.
Out in the distance, the Federation Droid Army appears over the horizon and descended from down the ridge, loudly rumbling and whirring into the valley in a mile-long formation of AATs stretching as far as the eye could see with escorting MTTs and PACs held in reserve. The droid division settled into position on the green pasture, facing the massive grand army. The droid commander, OOM-9 in the lead tank scopes out the Gungan army with some electrobinoculars and gives out an order to the AATs.
"Open fire!" OOM-9 commands
The AATs bombarded the large plasma dome with their cannon shots. The attack hardly had any effect as the shots only ripple against the shields.
In the capital city of Teed, Padmé, Sabé, Devon, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, R2-D2, Ric Olié, and several guards and pilots snuck through the streets from the bank of the Solleu River and Virdugo Plunge, avoiding detection from the dozens of battle droids as they patrolled the streets. They stop near the main entrance to the palace in the central district and hide along the side of a building as a couple battle droids passed by. Padmé took out a small red flasher and signaled Panaka's group, who signaled back with a blue flasher from way across the street under a curving arch. Panaka waves his hand to his group, who was behind him as they prepared for their distraction.
As the group readied themselves, Qui-Gon turned and kneeled down to Anakin.
"Once we get inside, I want you to find a safe place to hide and stay there." Qui-Gon says
"Sure." Anakin says
"Stay there." Qui-Gon says holding up a finger to remind the little boy
Soon, the two battle groups were ready. Several rebels in Panaka's group moves up and gets into position, accompanied by a V-19 landspeeder.
The V-19 landspeeder or a Gian speeder was a small vehicle used by the Royal Naboo Security Forces. This landspeeder was equipped with medium-grade hull plating and reinforced armor. It also had two light repeating blasters and a blaster cannon.
The Gian speeder pulls up and opens fire on a AAT in the street with it's blaster cannon, destroying it and the few droids that stood nearby.
"There they are!" A battle droids exclaims
"Fire!" Another droid says
Within moments, the whole street was immediately turned into a battlefield. Captain Panaka and his group move out to engage the battle droids while Padmé and her group move out from their hiding spot, heading for the main hangar. Devon summoned his trusted Keyblade: Soul Calibur while Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan drawed and ignited their lightsabers.
Captain Panaka made his way over to Padmé, joining their group as Devon, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan cut down and destroy any droids that stood in their path as they made their way toward the main hangar.
The resistance stayed in the streets and stood their ground against the droid forces.
Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, Darth Maul, and Lord Drazor could see the battle in the streets through a hologram in the royal throne room inside the palace.
"I thought the battle was going to take place far from here. This is too close." Gunray says nervously
Darth Maul and Lord Drazor shared glances with each other and nodded. They knew that the battle with the Gungan army was a diversion. They weren't easily fooled like Gunray and Haako. Without a word, the two dark warriors left the throne room to confront their enemies.
The group arrives in the hanger and were met by a squad of battle droids. Devon, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan deflected blaster bolts using their weapons while Padmé and Sabé fired their ELG-3A blaster pistols and Captain Panaka, and the security forces shoot their S-5 heavy blaster pistols at the droids.
"Ani, find cover! Quick!" Qui-Gon says
Anakin did as he was told and began running for cover hiding behind crates.
"Get to your ships!" Padmé says
The Naboo pilots accompanied with their astromech droids scurried to their starfighters and quickly climbed onboard.
The Naboo Royal N-1 starfighter were ships used by the government of Naboo for defense, patrol, and escort duties. The N-1 Starfighter was decorated with a yellow painting finishing with a chromium finish at the front of the vehicle. The N-1's weapons were twin laser cannons and a full complement of 10 proton torpedoes. The starfighter was equipped with a specialized twin J-type Nubian 221 sub-light pulse engine system. It was a light, fast, and agile starfighter.
Switching on their ships, the pilots began taking off from the hangar, heading into outer space toward the droid control ship. One of the starfighters was shot down by an AAT stationed outside of the hangar and was sent spiraling to the valley down below where it crashes in the ground and explodes, killing both pilot and astro droid.
R2-D2 rolled over to a N-1 starfighter and was loaded onto the ship. Anakin ran over to the same starfighter that R2 was in and scampered up the steps to take refuge in the cockpit. The party continued dealing with the droid resistance although some rebels in their group were shot down.
Devon blocked three blaster bolts from three battle droids with his crystal Keyblade, deflecting them back at the droids and taking them out of commission. He then thrusts his left-hand forward, hurling three more battle droids with a telekinetic blast through the Force.
Then, Nightmare Dream Eaters appeared in the hanger, joining the battle droids as they fought against the heroes. These Dream Eaters were Cyber Yogs, Sir Kyroo, and Tama Sheep.
Cyber Yogs were creatures resembling cybernetic goats. They had lean bodies, a short tail, a head with a short, flat mouth, tall ears facing downwards, a mane which covers the back of it's neck from it's head to it's shoulders, and two long, prominent horns that resembled antlers.
Sir Kyroo were winged frogs armed with a cattail blade and a lilypad shield.
Tama Sheeps were sheep-like creatures with round, ball bodies, small, flapping ears, and thin legs.
Devon held his Keyblade out as he turned to face the Nightmares. His two Spirit Dream Eaters, Ryu Dragon and Tyranto Rex appear next to Devon, ready to join in the fight.
Devon rushes forward at a Tama Sheep and strikes it down with a downward slash. Another Tama Sheep charges at him with a rolling attack, but he hurls it back with a telekinetic blast through his left-hand, sending the round-bodied Nightmare flying into three battle droids, destroying both the dark creature and three droids. A Cyber Yog fires lasers from it's horns at Devon, but he deflects them back at the cybernetic goat with his Keyblade. He then launches an large fireball at the Cyber Yog, blasting it into oblivion. Another Cyber Yog leaps over Devon and attempts to kick him with it's hind legs. Devon quickly ducks down and counters the attack with an uppercut slash, slicing through the Nightmare. Two Sir Kyroos fly towards Devon and swing their cattail blades at him. Devon defends himself with Soul Calibur, blocking the sword strikes of the frog-like Nightmares, switching back and forth between them. He then cuts them both down with a quick strike each.
Ryu Dragon breathes it's fire breath at a Sir Kyroo, sending the Nightmare ablaze, then grabs another Sir Kyroo in it's jaws and throws it to the ground. A Tama Sheep launches it's horns like boomerangs at the Ryu Dragon, but it leaps over to the left, evading the projectiles, and shoots a fireball at the Nightmare, destroying it. A Cyber Yog sprints toward the Ryu Dragon with it's horns lowered in an aggressive charge. The Ryu Dragon leaps over to the right just as the Cyber Yog passes by and jumps onto it's back. Biting into it's neck with it's jaws, the Spirit dragon brings down the Nightmare goat.
Tyranto Rex grabs a Cyber Yog in it's jaws and lifts it up into the air, clamping it's sharp teeth down the cybernetic goat, destroying the dark creature. The large dinosaur stomps it's left-foot down on a Sir Kyroo, crushing the tiny frog with little effort, then breathes it's fiery breath down on three Tama Sheeps, reducing them to ash. These Nightmares were hardly a challenge for this Spirit dinosaur.
Devon and his two Spirits continued fighting against the battle droids and Nightmares with Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Padmé, Sabé, and Panaka as they worked on clearing the hangar.
Above the planet of Naboo, the pilots of Bravo Squadron assaulted the Droid Control battleship, the Vuutun Palaa, which coordinated all droid forces on the planet. The squadron was led by Ric Olié in his starfighter, Bravo 1.
Bravo Squadron was comprised of 12 starfighters: Porro Dolphe flying Bravo 2, Arven Wendik flying Bravo 3, Rya Kirsch flying Bravo 4, Dine Ellberger flying Bravo 5. Gavyn Sykes flying Bravo 6, Essara Till flying Bravo 7, Dren Melne flying Bravo 8, and four other pilots in Bravos 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Several Vulture-class droid starfighters were dispatched to defend the command ship.
"Fighters straight ahead." Olié says
"Roger, Bravo Leader." Wendik says
Arven Wendik was a black male human starfighter pilot.
"Roger, Bravo Leader." Ellberger says
Dine Ellberger was a white female human starfighter pilot.
The two sides of starfighters soon engaged in dogfights in orbit over Naboo with green and red blaster bolts shooting back and forth in the blackness of space.
Back down in the grassy plains, the AATs were still bombarding the Gungan shields with no progress whatsoever. Soon, OOM-9 orders the tanks to stop firing.
"Cease fire!" OOM-9 commands
The AATs soon stopped their attack. The tanks pulled back and the MTTs opened their main hatches. Racks extended out from the transport, unloading thousands of B1 battle droids onto the field, much to the horror of the Gungans. The Gungans prepared themselves, activating their personal shields and loading their catapults with blue spherical plasma orbs called boomas as they prepared for the worst.
Above the planet, the battleship, Vuutun Palaa, hovered in orbit. Onboard the bridge of the Luchrehulk-class ship, Captain Daultay Dofine orders Tey How, the flight controller, to activate the battle droids currently on the ground.
"Activate the droids." Dofine says
"Yes, sir." Tey How says
The Neimoidian captain presses a button on the central control mainframe on the left-side of the pilot's seat and the display shows the activation of the droids.
Back down on the surface, the battle droids were activated. The hands of the droids opened up and their arms folded outward as they stood up from their crouched position. Their heads unfolded and raised up. The droids all reach behind their backs, drawed their E-5 blaster rifles, and turned to faced the Gungan army. All of this was done with complete fluid synchronization. Captain Tarpals gulps nervously and looks over at Jar Jar.
"Ouch time." Tarpals says
The B1 battle droids slowly marched in units towards the Gungans. They pass through the shield dome and commenced fire on the unprotected militia-gungs. Some of the militia manage to protect themselves from the blaster bolts using their shields while some threw boomas using their atlatls to fight back.
"Fire!" Tarpals commands with a wave of his left-hand
The Gungans launched their catapults, sending large boomas flying through the air, destroying dozens of droids. The smaller boomas hit some droids, sending an EMP effect through their systems, ultimately disabling them and rendering the droids useless. Jar Jar's Kaadu was spooked by a blaster bolt which shot the ground at it's feet, causing the creature to rear back and throw Jar Jar off. Getting back on his feet, saw a Gungan warrior next to him throw a booma at the droid army using a sling. Picking one up, he tried to throw a booma of his own, but he could not control his spin and he clumsily fell down.
The Gungans held their ground as the battle droids hit them hard. More and more droids passed through the dome shield while the Gungans continued fighting with their personal shields, catapults, boomas, slings, cestas, and atlatis.
Back in the main hangar, the group defeats the last of the battle droids and the Dream Eaters. Devon de-summons his Keyblade and his Ryu Dragon and Tyranto Rex disappear as he regroups with the others. The starfighters were now on their way to destroy the droid control ship. Now, came the important part of their plan: Capture the Viceroy.
"My guess is that the Viceroy is in the control room." Padmé says
"Red group! Blue group! Everybody, this way!" Panaka says
Padmé, Sabé, Panaka, and their group began moving across the hangar with Devon, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan following them.
"Hey, wait for me!" Anakin says standing up from the cockpit
"Anakin, stay where you are. You'll be safe there." Qui-Gon says
"But I-" Anakin says
"Stay in that cockpit." Qui-Gon says pointing to the little boy
"We'll come back for you, Ani. Just stay put." Devon says
The group began approaching the doors of the main hangar. Suddenly, the door opened, revealing Darth Maul and Lord Drazor who were waiting for them. Both of them were wearing black cloaks with their hoods up. The group immediately stop as they confront the two dark warriors. Darth Maul opened his eyes and raises his head, looking toward the group with sinister glare. Lord Drazor stood alongside the Sith Warrior on his left and he too gave them an evil glare, though it could not be seen through the 'T'-shaped visor in his helmet.
"We'll handle this." Qui-Gon says
"We'll take the long way." Padmé says
Padmé, Sabé, Panaka, and their forces went away towards another door to the left of the hangar. Devon, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan stepped forward to face the two villains. Darth Maul folded his hood back, revealing his tattooed, black-red, horned head. Lord Drazor also unfolds his hood, unveiling his helmet. The Jedi, Sith, and the Dark Knight remove their robes, dropping them to the floor. Both sides prepared themselves for an epic battle.
Three Droidekas rolled into the hangar and attacked Padmé and her group, firing their twin cannon blasters, while they quickly took cover behind the pillars in the hangar. Anakin could only watch helplessly as the rebels held their ground.
"We gotta do something, R2." Anakin says
Darth Maul drawed and ignited his red double-bladed lightsaber while Lord Drazor summoned his Dark Keyblade: Fear's Shadow into his right-hand in a flash of black smoke and red electric sparks. Devon summoned his Keyblade: Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light back into his right-hand while Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan drawed and ignited their green and blue lightsabers.
Maul stared down the two Jedi while they stared back at him. Devon stared down the evil Keyblade Wielder and tightens his grip on Soul Calibur. Lord Drazor stared back at the young teen, returning the glare with one of his own, breathing with his rattled, eclectic voice as he tightened his grip on Fear's Shadow.
Within moments, the epic battle began as Maul attacks first, spinning his double-bladed lightsaber at Obi-Wan, who jumps over the Sith, dodging the red blades. As he jumps over, he swinging his blue lightsaber down at Maul, only to have the blow blocked. He lands behind Maul and swings his lightsaber again, but the Sith Warrior blocks the attack without even looking. Qui-Gon swings his green lightsaber at Maul, who ducks down and advances toward him with a left slash. Qui-Gon parries the blow while Obi-Wan moved to assist with a right slash. Maul switches back and forth between both Jedi, parrying blows from both of them.
Devon charges at Lord Drazor with a sliding dash, thrusting his crystal Keyblade at the Dark Knight. Lord Drazor takes a small jump to the left, evading the attack, and swings Fear's Shadow with a right slash. Devon jumps over and dodges the Dark Keyblade, landing behind Lord Drazor. He spins around to the left and swings Soul Calibur at Lord Drazor, who quickly whirls around and blocks the attack with Fear's Shadow. Shoving the young teen back, Lord Drazor strikes with three downward slashes, but Devon parries the attack. He then strikes back, swinging his crystal Keyblade swiftly at his opponent with four left and right slashes, but Lord Drazor blocks every attack.
Eventually, Lord Drazor blocks a right slash from Devon, holding Fear's Shadow in a reverse grip, and thrusts his left-hand at Devon's chest, hurling him back a few feet. Devon catches himself with his left-hand as he slides back across the floor. Looking over toward some medium-sized crates in the hangar, he reaches out to them with the Force and hurls four of them towards the Dark Knight. Lord Drazor cuts through one crate with a downward slash, sends the second one away to the left with a wave of his left-hand, destroys the third one with an electric blast hurled from his fingertips, then catches the third one in mid-air. Gripping his hand into a fist, the crate disintegrates into oblivion. Devon spins Soul Calibur in his hand and he leaps forward at Lord Drazor with an overhead strike. The Dark Knight holds Fear's Shadow out infront of him as Devon swings his Keyblade down, putting the two warriors in a blade-lock.
While Devon, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan fought their epic duel with Darth Maul and Lord Drazor, Padmé and her group were pinned by the three Droidekas. R2-D2 whistled and beeped, saying that they should try and find a way to help.
"I'm trying to! I don't know where the trigger is!" Anakin says
Anakin looks down at the starfighter controls, searching for the firing trigger. He presses a button on the controls and the ship begins to lift off.
"Oops, wrong one. Maybe it's this one." Anakin says
Anakin pulled down on a lever, causing the cockpit to close.
"Nope. Wait, here it is." Anakin says
Anakin finally spots the trigger for the starfighter's blasters and he fires green blaster bolts at the Droidekas. He destroys one as the ship slowly turns to the left.
"Yeah!" Anakin exclaims excitingly
Anakin then blasts the second and third Droideka before taking off from the hangar, allowing Padmé and her squad to proceed with their task.
"Let's go!" Padmé says
Padmé, Sabé, Panaka, and their squad leave the hangar relatively unscathed through a separate door. As their starfighter took off, Anakin realized that he had no control over the space craft as it flew on it's own.
"It's on automatic pilot." Anakin says
Anakin and R2-D2 were soon flying out of the hangar and into the sky.
"Try and override it." Anakin says
R2-D2 whistles and beeps while Anakin puts on the pilot's helmet that was in the cockpit as the starfighter flies through the clouds, heading up into the stratosphere and then into space.
With everyone else going to their own tasks, Devon and the Jedi were now by themselves in the hangar with the Sith Lord and Dark Keyblade Wielder and their epic duel continued.
Maul swings his double-bladed lightsaber left and right at Qui-Gon, who parries the attacks with his lightsaber and strikes back with a downward slash and a left slash, only for the Sith Warrior to parry both strikes. Obi-Wan attacks Maul with a left slash, but he quickly turns and blocks the blue lightsaber. The two Jedi both swing their lightsabers at Maul, but the Sith Warrior held his lightsaber vertically, blocking them both and kicking Qui-Gon in the chest with his right-foot, knocking him down to the floor.
Lord Drazor cleaves his Dark Keyblade down on Devon, who blocks it holding his Keyblade up in defense. Devon swings Fear's Shadow away and strikes back against the evil villain with a roundhouse slash, only for it to be blocked by the Dark Keyblade. He follows up with an uppercut slash, but misses as Lord Drazor leans over to the right. Lord Drazor swings Fear's Shadow with a left slash at Devon. The young teen ducks down and rises up, swinging Soul Calibur with a right slash. Lord Drazor blocks against the crystal Keyblade, holding his Dark Keyblade vertically, and kicks Devon in the chest with his right-foot, sending him sliding back to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. He then jumps back to Maul's side.
Maul lifted some battle droid remains using the Force through his left-hand and sent them flying at the blast door controls, smashing them and opening the way to the Plasma Refinery Complex, a power plant attached to the hangar.
Devon rushes toward Lord Drazor and attacks with a right-diagonal slash. Lord Drazor blocks the attack, holding his Dark Keyblade over, and takes a swipe at Devon's neck with a right slash. Devon leans his body back and narrowly avoids getting his throat slit with the blade missing it by inches. Next, Lord Drazor takes a sweep at Devon's legs, but he leaps over the attack. Lord Drazor swings Fear's Shadow down on Devon with an overhead strike, forcing him to block the attack. He then kicks Devon back square in the chest with his right-foot, causing him to stagger backwards a bit. He then jumps away and moves back into the facility with Maul.
Maul spins his lightsaber and knocks away Obi-Wan's lightsaber as he came at him with a left slash. Obi-Wan swings down at Maul's legs, but the Sith Warrior blocks the blow and swings his lightsaber over and away. Qui-Gon rushed to his Padawan's aid and comes at Maul with a right slash, but he blocks the green lightsaber and kicks Obi-Wan in the head, knocking him down. Maul jumps back and moves backward into the refinery complex with Lord Drazor.
Qui-Gon swings his lightsaber at Maul who blocks the attack and slides away his lightsaber, sending the Jedi Master away. He then turns to Obi-Wan and takes a swing at him as he came running towards him. Obi-Wan blocks the red lightsaber and takes a sweep at Maul's legs, only to hit the red plasma blade. He pushes away and attacks with a left slash, and a reverse roundhouse slash, but Maul parries the blows. He then tries to strike Obi-Wan in the head with the other side of his lightsaber, but Qui-Gon comes back and blocks the strike while Obi-Wan ducks down. Maul spins around, swinging both ends of his lightsaber at Qui-Gon, who flourishes his lightsaber, parrying the blows.
Devon dashes toward Lord Drazor and swings his Keyblade with a right slash. Lord Drazor parries the blow and counters with a left slash. Devon blocks the attack and slides Lord Drazor's Dark Keyblade away to the left. The Dark Knight whirls around and swings Fear's Shadow with a reverse roundhouse slash. Devon holds Soul Calibur in defense against the blow and thrusts his left-hand forward at Lord Drazor, sending him back several feet into the complex with a telekinetic blast.
Lord Drazor and Maul backs away from the Keyblade Wielder and the two Jedi, standing at the ledge of the platform. The five warriors stare each other down until Maul leaps up to another catwalk on a higher level with a backflip. Lord Drazor jumps up onto the same catwalk. Devon, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan jump up after them and they all swinged their weapons at the two dark warriors, only to have their attacks blocked.
Padmé's group was now in the royal palace, heading down the ceremonial halls until they were stopped by a contingent of battle droids. The group took cover behind the pillars of the hallway and was caught in a firefight against the droids.
"We don't have time for this, Captain." Padmé says as she looks back at Panaka
Padmé aims her blaster pistol and she shoots down a droid, landing a hit to it's torso.
Anakin and R2-D2 were now in space, flying toward the Vuutun Palaa and the dogfight happening infront of them.
"Look! There they are. That's where the autopilot's taking us." Anakin says
In the grassy plains, squadrons of Droidekas rolled onto the battlefield and unfold into their battle stance, firing their deadly twin blaster cannons, gunning down two Gungan riders and their Kaadus, cutting a path through the army. A battle droid fires it's blaster at a Gungan warrior, who defends himself with his personal shield, deflecting the red bolts away. One of the bolts strikes back at the droid, severing it's upper body from the waist, which then flew onto Jar Jar's back, causing him to panic and run around.
"Huh? Waaah! Aah! Aah!" Jar Jar exclaims in a panic
Eventually, he grabbed the droid from his back and threw it down to the ground. He then proceeded to stomp on the severed droid with both his feet.
"Aaah! Hmm! Dum droid. Take that!" Jar Jar says
Jar Jar kicks the droid, but accidentally gets his right-foot entangled with the severed wiring.
"Get off! Get off! Get off! Get off!" Jar Jar says
This setback eventually came with an advantage. A battle droid approaches Jar Jar from his right. He moves his entangled foot and the wiring causes the severed droid to fire it's blaster at the approaching droid.
"Ooh! Ooh! Mooie!" Jar Jar says
Another droid walks toward Jar Jar, aiming it's blaster at him, but he moves his foot and shoots it down. Then, a Droideka rolls up and unfolds behind Jar Jar. He turns around seeing the droid and panics.
"Aah!" Jar Jar screams
Jar Jar dives to the ground and the severed droid shoots another blaster bolt, taking out one of the Droideka's legs, causing the droid to fall over on it's left-side.
In space above the planet, Bravo Squadron flew in close to engage the droid control ship, dodging the cannon fire from the turbolasers.
"The deflector shield is too strong!" Olié says
One of the turbolaser cannons manages to shoot down one of the squadron fighters, causing it to explode. Three of the Naboo pilots commenced a strafing run on one of the receiver stations on the battleship, hitting it with proton torpedoes and destroying the station
"This is tense!" Anakin says
Several Vulture droid starfighters flew past Anakin and R2.
"Whoa! R2, get us off this autopilot. It's gonna get us both killed." Anakin says
R2-D2 whistles and beeps as he worked on switching off the autopilot. It wasn't long before the starfighter was taken off autopilot as the display in the cockpit changed from red to blue.
"You did it, R2! Okay, let's go left." Anakin says
Anakin turns the steering module and the ship flies to the left. R2-D2 whistles and beeps.
"Go back? Qui-gon told me to stay in this cockpit, so that's what I'm going to do." Anakin says
Anakin and R2 flew over the rings of the Luchrehulk-class battleship as four Vulture-droid starfighters pursued them. One of them crashed into one of the ship's towers.
"I'll try spinning. That's a neat trick." Anakin says
Anakin turns the steering module, making the ship spin around. R2-D2 whistles and beeps.
"I know we're in trouble. Just hang on." Anakin says
In the royal palace, Padmé, Sabé, Panaka, and their group were still caught in the firefight with the battle droids in the hallway. Captain Panaka then blasts the windows on his right with his blaster, creating a way out of the firefight.
"Go!" Panaka says
Padmé and Panaka head for the window while Sabé and her group kept the droids busy with covering fire.
"Ascension guns!" Panaka says
Padmé, Panaka, and her group escapes through the window to the outside of the palace and switch to their ascension guns. Aiming up at the higher levels of the building, they fired their grappling hook launchers, which shoots up tethers made of syntherope with a grappling dart attached. The dart latches onto the building and Padmé, Panaka, and their team were pulled upward to the throne room level. From there, Padmé blasts the windows using her blaster pistol. The group entered back into the palace and began making their way to the control room.
Back in the Plasma Refinery Complex, the battle between the two Keyblade Wielders and the three Jedi continued in a labyrinth of catwalks.
Devon swings Soul Calibur with a downward slash at Lord Drazor, only to have the attack blocked by Fear's Shadow held up infront of the Dark Knight's face. He then strikes with a left slash and a reverse roundhouse slash. Lord Drazor blocks both strikes, then leans over to the left as Devon tries to deliver an uppercut slash. Lord Drazor thrusts Fear's Shadow straight at Devon, aiming for his face. The young teen quickly leans to the right and knocks away the Dark Keyblade. He goes to strike Lord Drazor with a right slash, but the Dark Knight quickly spins around and blocks the attack.
Qui-Gon swings his green lightsaber at Maul, who blocks it with one side of his double-bladed lightsaber. Obi-Wan moves to assist his master and goes to strike behind Maul's back with his blue lightsaber, but the Sith Warrior blocks the attack with the other side of his lightsaber, putting the two Jedi into a blade lock. He then kicks Obi-Wan back over the ledge with his left-foot, causing him to fall several levels down below in the complex. Obi-Wan lands and nearly rolls off a catwalk, but he quickly grabs onto the ledge.
Qui-Gon hits Maul in the face with a left-elbow and a backhand, forcing him down several levels. Devon and Lord Drazor were both caught in a blade lock until Devon swings Fear's Shadow away to the right and delivers a left-kick to Lord Drazor's left-side, sending him over and down to the same level as Maul. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master both jumped down to the dark warriors. Maul kicks Qui-Gon in the face with his right-foot and rises to his feet. Lord Drazor thrusts his left-hand at Devon, pushing him back with telekinetic force as he spin-jumps to his feet. The four warriors continued exchanging blows as they fought across the catwalk.
Obi-Wan pulls himself up onto the catwalk he's on and looked up to see the Keyblade Wielder, Jedi Master, Sith Warrior, and Dark Knight fighting across the central catwalk. He jumps up high onto their level and races to join them.
Devon and Qui-Gon forced Maul and Lord Drazor down the central catwalk to a hall with laser gates which cycles off upon their arrival.
Qui-Gon swings his green lightsaber with a right slash, a left slash, and a downward slash at Maul, who parries the blows with his red lightsaber. He then takes a low sweep at Maul's legs, but he jumps up over the strike. Qui-Gon goes for a left slash, but Maul blocks the attack and slides the green plasma blade away to the right.
Devon swings Soul Calibur with a left slash, a downward slash, a thrusting strike, an left-uppercut slash, and a right slash. Lord Drazor blocks the first two strikes, knocks away the crystal Keyblade to the left, leans his body to the right to dodge the uppercut slash, then blocks and swings Soul Calibur away to the left.
They continued fighting down the hall until they got separated by the laser gates. Devon and Qui-Gon were kept away from Maul and Lord Drazor by one field. Devon de-summons his Keyblade and Qui-Gon deactivates his lightsaber. By the time Obi-Wan caught up to the four combatants, he was kept back by the fields. Qui-Gon sat down on his knees and closes his eyes in meditation. Devon followed the Jedi Master's example and got down on his knees, meditating with him. Maul paced back and forth infront of the heroes while Lord Drazor radiated with dark energy. The two villains drawed power from the darkness while the two heroes drawed upon the light, waiting patiently for the barriers to disappear.
In the grassy plains, the main shield generator that protected the Gungan Army from the AATs was destroyed by a Droideka's twin cannons, deactivating the plasma domes around them. The Gungan operating the controls for the shield generator jumps off before he was caught in the explosion. Tarpals then whistled commanding the army to fall back and retreat toward the swamp as the AATs began their advance.
"Retreat! Retreat!" Jar Jar says
Jar Jar ran on foot since his kaadu had been lost. He dove down to the ground and hid underneath a cart that was being pulled by a falumpaset.
"Dis is nutsen." Jar Jar says
The Gungan riding the mammal whips the creature, making it move forward. Jar Jar jumped onto the cart and held onto the door. Looking in the cart, he saw a cache of large boomas.
"Uh oh. Big boomas." Jar Jar says
The weight of Jar Jar opened the door and released the large boomas. Jar Jar looked infront of him and he saw the boomas rolling toward him. He panicked and ran away from them, running in the opposite direction toward the droid army. One booma hits an AAT, destroying it while others disabled destroyer droids.
"Give me a lift!" Jar Jar says
One Kaadu Rider picked up Jar Jar and carried him on his kaadu. An explosive shot from an AAT then sent Jar Jar flying off the kaadu and onto another tank, hanging from the barrel of the cannon. Tarpals rode up alongside on his kaadu.
"Jar Jar, usen da booma!" Tarpals says
"What? Mesa no have a booma!" Jar Jar says
"Here! Taken this one!" Tarpals says taking out a booma from his satchel and tossing it up to Jar Jar
Jar Jar tries to catch the blue plasma ball, but clumsily tossed it into the tank's pilot as it came out from the hatch, disabling the droid. The AAT turns and skids along the ground, heading in the opposite direction with Jar Jar now hanging onto the cannon by his hands. Tarpals rode up to Jar Jar on his kaadu.
"Jar Jar! Jump!" Tarpals says
Tarpals grabbed Jar Jar, causing him to fall of his kaadu as they both fell to the ground.
In the royal palace, Padmé, Panaka, and their squad continued heading their way toward the control room until a squad of Droidekas and battle droids surrounded them. They were clearly outnumbered and outgunned.
"Put down your weapons. They win this round." Padmé says
The group put down their weapons and surrendered themselves to the droids.
In space above the planet, the dogfight between the Naboo starfighters and Vulture-droid starfighters continued. The Vulture-droids pursuing Anakin and R2 were still trailing behind them. One of them fires it's red blaster bolts at Anakin's starfighter. The lasers misses several times until one grazes the back of the Naboo starfighter, nearly hitting R2 by inches.
"We're hit, R2!" Anakin exclaims
Anakin and R2 were sent into an uncontrollable spin. R2 shrieks in it's voice. They soon flew straight into the right-hand hangar bay of the Trade Federation battleship, flying past narrow passages and a C-9979 landing craft. R2 let out some beeps, telling Anakin to stop the ship.
"I'm trying to stop! I'm trying to stop!" Anakin exclaims
The Naboo starfighter lands in the hanger and skidded across the floor, coming to a screeching halt in the middle of the room. R2 whistled and beeped. Anakin looks down at the controls and noticed that everything had shut down from overheating.
"Everything's overheated." Anakin says
Anakin then looked right and saw several OOM security battle droids heading toward him.
"Oops. This is not good." Anakin says
Anakin tries to start up the starfighter by flipping switches and pressing buttons, but the controls were not responding. They were in serious trouble.
In the refinery complex back down on the planet, Maul was still pacing back and forth and Lord Drazor was still glowing with dark energy. Devon and Qui-Gon were still meditating on the floor, waiting patiently for the laser fields to disappear. They didn't have to wait long as the laser fields separating them switched off. As soon as they did, Devon and Qui-Gon jumped up to their feet and quickly drawed their weapons as they lashed at Maul and Lord Drazor, forcing them into the generator's core, which was a massive shaft plummeting down into the vast depths of the reactor.
Once the laser fields were gone on Obi-Wan's side, he ignited his lightsaber and rushed to catch up to them. He was about to reach his master and his friend when the barriers closed again, separating him by only one force field. This left Qui-Gon to duel alone with Darth Maul while Devon dueled with Lord Drazor.
Devon lashed out at Lord Drazor with a barrage of attacks, but he manages to defend himself against Devon's attacks and counters with his own collection of attacks. Lord Drazor cleaves his Dark Keyblade down on Devon who blocks the attack, holding his crystal Keyblade up in defense. Lord Drazor manages to slide Soul Calibur away to the left and tries to impale the young teen with Fear's Shadow. Devon leans his body to the left, dodging the Dark Keyblade as it misses him by inches. He then slams his Soul Calibur down on Fear's Shadow and kicks Lord Drazor in his right-side with his right-foot, causing him to grunt and stagger back a bit.
Qui-Gon held his own against Maul, but he could not keep up with his youth. Qui-Gon swinged his green lightsaber down at Maul, who blocked the blow. He then quickly slammed the wide handle of his double-bladed lightsaber into Qui-Gon's face, stunning the Jedi Master, and spun around, impaling him in the stomach with the red plasma blade sticking out from Qui-Gon's back.
"No!" Obi-Wan cries out
Devon and Lord Drazor's fight stopped upon hearing Obi-Wan's cries. Qui-Gon fell to his knees and then fell to the floor on his back. While he was distracted, Lord Drazor catches Devon off guard and kicks him directly in the stomach with his right-foot, causing him to lurch forward.
"Guaah!" Devon yells
Lord Drazor then hurls Devon across the room with a telekinetic blast through his left-hand, sending him flying and causing him to smash against the wall. Devon falls flat on his stomach. The attack nearly incapacitated him.
"Gnh!" Devon grunts wincing in pain
Maul turns and looks toward Obi-Wan while Lord Drazor paced back and forth, waiting for Devon to rise to his feet. The young Padawan looks toward his fallen master, then looks toward Maul, who paced back and forth, waiting for the laser field to disappear.
In the grassy plains, the Gungan forces were overwhelmed by the battle droid army. Soon, Gungans were being taken prisoner by battle droids. Half of the Gungan army managed to retreat into the swamp while the other half was being held captive and a portion of the army was killed. Jar Jar and Tarpals rise to their feet
"No giben up, General Jar Jar. Mesa tink of something." Tarpals says
Two battle droids approach the two Gungans and aim their blasters at them.
"Hands up." One of the droids orders
"My give up. My give up." Jar Jar says holding his hands up
Tarpals looks over at Jar Jar, then facepalms himself with his right-hand, groaning in dismay.
In the royal palace, Padmé, Panaka, and their group were led to the throne room by a squad of OOM security battle droids as captured enemies and were brought before Gunray and Haako.
"Your little insurrection is at an end, Your Highness. Time for you to sign the treaty and end this pointless debate in the senate." Gunray says
"Viceroy!" A female voice calls
Gunray looks away from Padmé and saw Sabé and her team appeared at the doorway to the throne room.
"Your occupation here has ended." Sabé says
Sabé blasts two battle droids down using her blaster pistol. Her ruse fools the Viceroy, believing that she was really Queen Amidala and not Padmé.
"After her! This one's a decoy!" Gunray says pointing at Sabé with his left-hand
The battle droids began targeting Sabé and her group as they take off down another hallway. While the two Neimoidians and the now few battle droids in the room were distracted, Padmé rushes over to the throne and unlocks a secret compartment in the chair. Inside were two ELG-3A blaster pistols.
"Captain!" Padmé calls
Padmé tosses one of the blasters to Captain Panaka and they start gunning down the confused battle droids. Soon, the room was clear, leaving Gunray and Haako.
"Jam the doors!" Panaka commands
Two guards head to the door controls of the throne room and press some buttons, sealing the room shut and locking the two greedy Neimoidians with them. Two of the most prominent leaders of the Trade Federation were now in custody. Theed had been taken back from Federation control.
"Now, Viceroy, we will discuss a new treaty." Padmé says
In the refinery complex, Obi-Wan waited for the laser field to disappear as did Maul as he paced back and forth. They soon reactivated their lightsabers as they readied themselves. And as if on cue, the laser fields disappear.
Around that time, Devon jumps back onto his feet and continues his battle with Lord Drazor. He swings Soul Calibur at the Dark Knight with a right slash, but misses as he jumps back.
Overcome with hatred, Obi-Wan lashed out at Maul, clashing his lightsaber with his. The young Jedi attacks with a quick right slash and a low slash, but Maul blocks both strikes. The Sith Warrior takes a swing at Obi-Wan, aiming for his head. Obi-Wan quickly ducks down, then rises up holding is lightsaber over and straight, blocking both sides of Maul's double-bladed lightsaber as he twists his body around, attacking with quick strikes.
Devon thrusts Soul Calibur at Lord Drazor, but he blocks with Fear's Shadow and swings the crystal Keyblade over and to the left. He goes for a left slash at Devon, but he quickly spins around and blocks against the blow. The young teen swings Soul Calibur with right-uppercut and a overhead strike. The Dark Knight leans over to the right, dodging the first strike, then swings Fear's Shadow with a left-swing, knocking away Soul Calibur away. Using the momentum, Devon attacks with a reverse roundhouse slash. Lord Drazor holds his Dark Keyblade vertically and blocks the blow.
Maul twirls his lightsaber and swings it at Obi-Wan, who blocks the attack, then he tries to take a sweep at Obi-Wan's legs. Obi-Wan jumps over the attack and lashes out at the Sith Warrior again with some more quick strikes while he parries. He strikes one side of Maul's lightsaber with a left slash, then slices the hilt of the lightsaber in half with an uppercut strike, leaving the Sith Warrior with only one blade. He then kicks Maul back with his right-foot, forcing him to the floor. Obi-Wan somersaults over Maul and swings his lightsaber down on him, but Maul blocks the attack, jumps up to his feet, and spins away from Obi-Wan as he takes a left-swipe at him.
Devon attacks Lord Drazor with three spinning slashes, swinging Soul Calibur to the right, while the Dark Knight holds up Fear's Shadow in defense. He knocks away the Dark Keyblade with a left slash and follows up a right slash, a downward slash, a right-uppercut slash, and two wide-sweeping slashes, swinging his crystal Keyblade left and right, landing multiple hits to Lord Drazor. The Dark Knight strikes back at the young teen with a left-downward slash, a right slash, an uppercut slash, and a roundhouse slash. Devon parries against the blows and counters the last one with a left slash into Lord Drazor's chest and an uppercut slash, which knocks him back.
The Jedi and Sith exchange four blows, swinging their lightsabers left and right. Maul lands a kick to Obi-Wan's head, forcing him to flip backwards. The young Jedi lands back on his feet and swings his lightsaber with a left slash and a reverse roundhouse slash at the Sith Warrior, who blocks and cartwheels over the blue plasma blade. Maul comes at Obi-Wan, swinging his red lightsaber with a roundhouse slash. Obi-Wan blocks and swings back at him with a right slash, two left-right angled strikes, and another right slash. Maul parries the three strikes, then ducks down, avoiding the high slash.
Obi-Wan cleaves his lightsaber down on Maul, who blocks against the blow, putting the two into a blade lock. The clash didn't last long as Maul shoves Obi-Wan's lightsaber up and thrusts his left-hand forward, pushing Obi-Wan back with a telekinetic blast, sending him rolling backwards over the edge and into the pit.
While Lord Drazor was down on his left-knee, Devon looks over to his right and watches in shock as Obi-Wan tumbles into the pit.
Obi-Wan manages to grab hold of a power node in the shaft and clings on for life. Maul walks over to the edge and stares down at the pitiful Jedi. He notices the deactivated lightsaber at his feet and goes to kick it into the pit. But before he could, the lightsaber flies across the room and into Devon's left-hand. The young teen ignites the weapon and the blue plasma blade whirs to life. Devon now had Soul Calibur in his right-hand and the lightsaber in his left-hand. Both of the weapons glowed with their blue light in contrast to the glow of the red lightsaber.
Maul looks over at Devon with a sinister glare while he returns the glare with a look of determination. Gripping his left-hand into a fist, the Sith Warrior jumps across the pit and lands infront of Lord Drazor as he rose back up on his feet. Devon spreads out his legs and got into battle stance as he wielded both his Keyblade and the lightsaber, preparing himself for his epic fight against Lord Drazor and Darth Maul.
Above the planet, in the battleship Vutuun Palaa, Anakin's starfighter finally cooled down and rebooted. The power was back up and all systems were green and operational.
"Yes! We have power. Shield's up." Anakin says
The battle droids fired at Naboo starfighter, but the ship's deflector shields protected Anakin and R2-D2 from the blaster bolts.
"Take this!" Anakin says
Anakin fires the ships blasters at the battle droids, blasting them to pieces with green laser bolts.
"And this!" Anakin says
Anakin then fires two Proton Torpedoes that flew past the droids.
"Whoa!" Anakin exclaims
The two torpedoes flew across the way to the back of the hangar and hit the ship's starboard reactor core, destroying it.
"Oops." Anakin says
On the bridge, Tey How notices the disturbance in the ship readouts and reports it to the Neimoidian captain.
"We're losing power. There seems to be a problem with the main reactor." Tey How says
"Impossible! Nothing can get through our shields." Dofine says
Back in the droid hangar bay, Anakin pulled a lever and started up his ship.
"Let's get out of here." Anakin says
Engaging the thrusters, Anakin and R2 fly through the hangar of the ship, ramming into a battle droid and bisecting it in half on their way out. Battle droids in the ship's hallways fled as walls of flames burst forward, engulfing them. The droid control ship began exploding in multiple places in a chain reaction. Ric Olié, Dine Ellberger, and the other pilots noticed the explosions as they blew around the ship's hull and the inside of the ring.
"What's that? It's blowing up from the inside!" Ellberger says
"We didn't hit it." Olié says
Inside the ship, Anakin and R2 were flying their way out of the ship as the hanger bay exploded all around them, destroying battle droids, Vulture-droid starfighters, and the many transports inside.
"Now this is Podracing!" Anakin says
R2 whistles and beeps in agreement.
"Look, one of ours, out of the main hold!" Wendik says
"Whoo!" Anakin exclaims
Anakin flies out of the hangar bay and joins the surviving starfighters as they flew back toward Naboo having completed their mission. They all cheered as the ship exploded.
Dofine and crew saw the starfighters retreating from the ship in a fast manner, but failed to realize what was happening. That was until the control computer console in front of them malfunctioned and exploded, killing Dofine and the entire crew on the bridge in an instant. The core ship of the Vuutun Palaa explodes in a massive fireball, ripping off a large piece of the battleship's right-arm.
Down on Naboo, all the battle droids on the grassy plains were suddenly deactivated as their motors winded down. The droids stood lifeless much to the confusion of the Gungans.
"Was'n they doing?" Jar Jar asks
"The control ship has been destroyed. Look!" Tarpals says
Tarpals pushes the droid next to him with his right-hand and it falls backwards onto the ground. The head of a battle droid infront of Jar Jar falls off in malfunction.
"They all broke-ed." Jar Jar says
Jar Jar tips the droid with his right-hand and it collapses. Soon, the Gungans hooted and cheered out in victory, jumping up and throwing their arms up whie some of them tipped over battle droids to the ground.
In the generator's core, Devon was now fighting Darth Maul and Lord Drazor alone while Obi-Wan still clung to life in the pit. Although the Sith Warrior and Dark Knight were both formidable opponents, Devon managed to hold his ground and blocked all of their attacks, using both Soul Calibur and Obi-Wan's lightsaber.
Maul swings his red lightsaber at Devon, but he cartwheels out of the way, dodging the attack. Devon swings his blue lightsaber at Maul, deflecting his red lightsaber, and strikes with his crystal Keyblade, delivering a downward slash, an uppercut slash, and a right slash to Maul. The Sith Warrior rushes at Devon with an overhead strike, but the young teen holds his lightsaber up, blocks the attack, and counters with another right slash.
Devon switched back and forth, trading blows with Maul and Lord Drazor, swinging both Soul Calibur and the blue lightsaber at them. The two villains both swung their weapons at Devon all at once. Devon blocks Maul's lightsaber with his, holding it horizontally, and blocks Fear's Shadow with Soul Calibur, holding it vertically. The young teen looks over at the Sith Warrior and smirks as an idea came into his mind. Devon slides Lord Drazor's Dark Keyblade away and kicks him in the stomach with his right-foot, sending him back. Deactivating the blue lightsaber, Devon caught Maul off-guard and strikes him in the chest with a strong blow from Soul Calibur, which was amplified through the Force, sending the Sith Warrior sliding back to the side of the pit where Obi-Wan still held on.
Lord Drazor pushes against Soul Calibur, forcing Devon back. Devon manages to knock Fear's Shadow away with his blue lightsaber and strikes with a right slash using his crystal Keyblade. Lord Drazor jumps over the attack with a somersault, landing behind Devon. The young teen swings Soul Calibur with a left slash at Lord Drazor while his back was turned. The Dark Knight blocks the crystal Keyblade by holding Fear's Shadow behind his back without even looking. Then, Lord Drazor spins around, sliding Soul Calibur away, and thrusts his left-hand forward, blasting Obi-Wan's lightsaber out of Devon's grip with telekinetic force, sending it falling into the pit. He then brought Fear's Shadow down on Devon, who blocked with Soul Calibur, putting the two Keyblade Wielders in a blade-lock.
On the other side of the pit, Maul slowly rises up on one knee in recovering from Devon's strike. He looks over at the young teen as he was in a blade-lock with Lord Drazor. Obi-Wan saw the Zabrak assassin at the ledge. Calming his nerves, he focus on the light side and toward his master's lightsaber, feeling it through the Force. Qui-Gon's lightsaber starts to shake and slides across the floor. Obi-Wan soon Force-jumps out of the pit, Force-pulls Qui-Gon's lightsaber into his hand, somersaults over Maul, catching him by surprise, and lands a single sweeping blow to the Sith Warrior, bisecting him in half across the torso.
This managed to gain Lord Drazor's attention, causing him to look right as he heard Maul's groaning from the fatal blow. With Lord Drazor distracted, Devon pushes up, shoves him back, causing him to stumble, and lands a powerful roundhouse slash to the Dark Knight, smashing him into wall of the circular room. He falls flat on his stomach and was defeated.
Having defeated Lord Drazor, Devon looks over and watches as Darth Maul falls backwards into the pit, his body separating as he descends into the endless shaft, disappearing from sight and into the blackness down below.
After defeating the Sith Warrior and Dark Knight, Devon and Obi-Wan rushed over to Qui-Gon's fallen body. Obi-Wan held Qui-Gon in his arms
"No. It's-it's too late..." Qui-Gon mutters weakly
"No." Obi-Wan says shaking his head
"Qui-Gon..." Devon says sadly
"Obi-Wan... Promise... Promise me you will train the boy..." Qui-Gon says weakly
"Yes, Master." Obi-Wan says nodding his head
"He... is the chosen one... along with Devon... He... will bring balance... Train him..." Qui-Gon says weakly
After saying that, the Jedi Master closes his eyes and dies in his Padawan's arms.
The epic duel between the young Keyblade Wielder, the Jedi Knight, the Sith Warrior, and the Dark Knight was now over, but in the end, Devon and Obi-Wan both lost a great friend, Qui-Gon Jinn. Naboo was now freed from the Trade Federation, but at a great cost. Besides Qui-Gon being killed by Darth Maul, several Gungans and Naboo humans were also killed at the expense of the invasion. But thanks to their sacrifice, Naboo was free and the planet was saved.
