The sun was shining brightly on Hogwarts as it was a beautiful day for the magic school. Three days had passed since Devon and his friends traveled down into the underground chambers for the Sorcerer's Stone. Devon and Harry both wake up in the hospital wing having survived their skirmish with Professor Quirrell and Voldemort.
The hospital wing was located on the fourth floor of the school and it had eight beds with white sheets, privacy screens with blue-green curtains, and silver bedpans at the foot of the beds.
The two boys were laying side-by-side in medical beds on the right-side of the room. Devon was in his own bed with Harry on his right. Devon was the first to awaken as he sat upright in his bed and rubbed his head with his right-hand.
"Ohh..." Devon groans
Then, Harry woke up in his blue-white stripped pajamas and sat upright. He reaches over for his glasses on the right-side of his bed and puts them on adjusting his vision. The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy look around the room, then look toward each other. They were relieved to see that they both made it out of the underground chambers alright.
"Devon." Harry says
"Harry." Devon says
Devon and Harry shared smiles with each other, then they look infront of them to see their bedpans full of sweets and confections like Bertie Botts Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Cauldron Cakes, Pumpkin Pastries, and other treats. Then, they look over to their right and notice someone coming into the room through the open double door entrance. It was Professor Dumbledore. The headmaster greets the boys with a friendly smile and approaches them.
"Good afternoon, boys." Dumbledore greets
"Dumbledore." Devon greets with a smile
Dumbledore looks over the sweets and gifts that were laid out infront of the boys on their bedpans.
"Ah. Tokens from your admirers?" Dumbledore says
"Admirers?" Harry says confused
"What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows." Dumbledore says
Dumbledore looks down at Harry's bedpan, picks up one of the boxes of Chocolate Frogs on the bedpan, and examines it. The box was already opened and the chocolate frog inside was gone meaning that someone besides Harry had opened it. While the boys were confused, Dumbledore already knew who it was.
"Ah, I see your friend Ronald has saved you the trouble of opening your Chocolate Frogs." Dumbledore says
"Ron was here? Is he all right? What about Hermione?" Harry asks
Dumbledore holds up his hand in assurance.
"Fine. They're both just fine." Dumbledore says
Devon and Harry were glad to hear that Ron and Hermione were safe. But then they remembered something important. Something they almost forgot: The Sorcerer's Stone.
"What happened to the stone?" Harry asks
"Oh, yeah! The stone! Where is it? Is it safe?" Devon asks
"Relax, boys. The stone has been destroyed. My friend Nicholas and I have had a little chat and agreed it was best all around." Dumbledore says
"But then Flamel... He'll die, won't he?" Harry asks
"That's right. Flamel put his life into making the stone. And without it... he'll lose his immortality." Devon says
Dumbledore walks over to the right-side of Harry's bed and sits down.
"He has enough elixir to set his affairs in order. But, yes, he will die." Dumbledore says
"How is it I got the stone, sir? One minute I was staring in the mirror, and the next-" Harry says
"Ah. You see, only a person who wanted to find the stone. Find it, but not use it, would be able to retrieve it." Dumbledore says
"That must be why you put the mirror down in the dungeon, right? Because you knew that Quirrell would be able to slip past the defenses and enchantments that protected the stone. And you knew he wanted the stone more than anything. The mirror was the prefect tool to keep the stone safe." Devon says
"It is one of my more brilliant ideas. And between the three of us, that is saying something." Dumbledore says
"Really ingenious, Dumbledore. Very clever." Devon says impressed
"Does that mean, with the stone gone, that is, that Voldemort can never come back?" Harry asks
"Ah. I'm afraid... There are ways in which he can return." Dumbledore says
"So, I guess that means we haven't seen the last of Voldemort." Devon says
Devon glances over at the large window infront of him and stares out at the blue sky, recalling his encounter with Young Xehanort in the underground chamber. He remembered what he said about Voldemort.
"The guy in the black coat. He knew." Devon says
Harry and Dumbledore glance over at Devon on their left.
"The guy in a black coat?" Harry asks
"Yeah. He appeared again after we defeated Voldemort. He told me that there were other ways that Voldemort could revive himself. And what's more, he said that Voldemort is an ally of Teridax, the Dark Lord of the Shadows." Devon says
Harry stares at Devon in slight shock. Two dark lords working together. The thought was just terrifying to even think about.
"Harry?" Dumbledore says
The wizard boy glances back at Dumbledore.
"Do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bare to have you touch him?" Dumbledore asks
Harry shakes his head no.
"It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark." Dumbledore says
Harry goes to put his right-hand on his head where his lightning-shaped scar was, but Dumbledore stops him.
"No, no. This mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin." Dumbledore says
"What is it?" Harry asks
"Love, Harry. Love." Dumbledore says
Dumbledore gives Harry a kind smile and places his left-hand on the wizard boy's head. Harry smiles as does Devon. Of course, he knew better than anyone that love was it's own powerful magic. He had seen it many times before through his friends or his family. Dumbledore stood up and turns his attention to the bedpan full of sweets and confections. He picks up one box of Bertie Bott's Flavor Beans and looks upon it.
"Ah. Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. I was most unfortunate in my youth to come across a vomit-flavored one, and since then, I'm afraid I've lost my liking for them." Dumbledore says
"Oh, I know the feeling. On my way here to Hogwarts, I tried some beans myself. I remember I tasted lemon and green apple. But then, I came onto a hot pepper, which really burned up in my mouth." Devon says counting the three bean flavors with his right-index, middle, and ring finger
The Keyblade Wielder shudders in remembering that experience. Harry laughs as he still remembered it.
"But I think I could be safe with a nice toffee." Dumbledore says
Dumbledore picks out a bean from the box, puts it into his mouth, and chews on it to taste it's flavor.
"Mmm. Alas. Earwax." Dumbledore says
Dumbledore looks over at the boys, gives them one more smile, then puts the box of Bertie Bott's beans down on the bedpan and walks out of the room.
When they were well enough to stand, Devon and Harry leave the hospital wing and walk out into the corridor. Glancing up, they saw two people at the top of the staircase. It was Ron and Hermione, who were both looking quite well. They looked down at the two boys and smiled while they smiled back.
"All right there, Ron?" Harry asks
"All right. You?" Ron asks
Harry shrugs his shoulders.
"All right." Harry says
Harry glances over at Hermione.
"Hermione?" Harry says
"Never better." Hermione says
Ron and Hermione glance over at Devon.
"Devon? How are you?" Hermione asks
Devon looks over at Harry on his left, then glances back up at Ron and Hermione, giving them a smile and a thumbs up with his right-hand.
"Super." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder and the Wizarding Trio all smile, proud of their success on their mission.
It was now the final day at Hogwarts and everyone was gathered in the Great Hall for the End-of-Term Feast. The large hall was decorated with green flags in the colors of Slytherin house as they had the most points out of the entire school. The dishes served in the feast were exactly the same as those served at the start of the term. For this feast, Devon decided to mix things up with his food choice and had himself a plate of steak, mashed potatoes, and deep-fried chips. The feast went on for several minutes until Professor clinked her cup with a fork five times, making dinging sounds with the glass to gain the attention of the school. The entire hall fell silent and all eyes looked over towards Professor Dumbledore rose up from his golden chair.
"Another year gone. And now as I understand it, the House Cup needs awarding, and the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with 312 points." Dumbledore announces
The students clapped in applause, but it didn't last very long. Most in Gryffindor including Devon, Harry, and their friends were disappointed.
"In third place, Hufflepuff, with 352 points." Dumbledore announces
The hall clapped again lasting a bit longer this time.
"In second place, Ravenclaw, with 426 points." Dumbledore announces
Again, there was a round of applause with a few cheers from those at Ravenclaw table.
"And in first place, with 472 points, Slytherin house." Dumbledore announces
Those at Slytherin table cheered loudly and banged on their table. There was barely any cheering from the other tables. Malfoy looked over at Devon and Harry with a proud smirk on his face.
"Yes, yes. Well done, Slytherin. Well done, Slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last-minute points to award. To Miss Hermione Granger. For the cool use of intellect when others were in grave peril, 50 points." Dumbledore announces
Gryffindor table cheered loudly for Hermione.
"Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best-played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, 50 points." Dumbledore announces
Another round of cheers filled the hall, becoming more louder as the points racked up.
"Third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house 60 points." Dumbledore announces
A third cheer filled the hall for Harry and it went on longer than Ron and Hermione.
"We're tied with Slytherin!" Hermione exclaims quietly
"Fourth, to our special guest, the Keyblade Wielder, Devon, for inspiring acts of unyielding loyalty, faithful compassion, great leadership, and pure strength of heart. I award Gryffindor house 70 points." Dumbledore announces
The cheers and applause at this point were at it's loudest and longest, lasting nearly half a minute. Those in Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw cheered along with those in Gryffindor. Devon smiled as everyone, except for those at Slytherin table, cheered for him. Any student who was close by gave Devon pats on the shoulder or back and handshakes.
"And finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom." Dumbledore announces
A final cheer went around the hall for Neville, who sat there in shock and surprise.
"Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe a change of decoration is in order." Dumbledore announces
Dumbledore clasps his hands with a loud clap and spreads them out. A gust of wind blew upon the flags in the hall and they changed from green to red in the colors of Gryffindor.
"Gryffindor wins the House Cup." Dumbledore announces
All those in Gryffindor immediately stood up and cheered even more loudly. Those in Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw stood up and cheered along with them while Malfoy and those in Slytherin remain quiet and planted on their seats in defeat. The students in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw took off their black hats and toss them up into the air in celebration.
With the first year at Hogwarts complete, the students traveled to Hogsmeade Station and began preparing for their journey back home to their families. Their trunks were packed and loaded onto the Hogwarts Express and the students started boarding the train. Devon watched from up on a hill with his hands in the pockets of his pants with a smile on his face. He was soon paid a visit by the female unicorn, Alura LightHeart, who walked up and stood alongside him on his right.
"Sounded like quite a celebration up there." Alura says
"It sure was. Gryffindor won the House Cup." Devon says
"Thanks to you and your friends. I'm very happy for you and those in Gryffindor." Alura says
Devon looks up at Alura.
"But what about you? I mean, with your family gone..." Devon says
"Oh, don't worry." Alura says
Alura turns left and glances back at the forest behind her. Devon follows her gaze and was amazed by what he saw. Emerging out of the forest was a group of unicorns.
"I still have my sisters and my friends. Although I will miss my mother, she taught me to always be strong and brave." Alura says
Alura looks down at Devon.
"I can't thank you enough for what you've done for us unicorns, Devon." Alura says
"At least Voldemort won't be hunting for unicorn blood anymore now that he's a disembodied soul." Devon says
"Whatever he'll get coming is too good for him. Such a vile villain shouldn't exist." Alura says
"If he ever comes back..." Devon says
Devon points to himself with his right-thumb.
"...you can bet that me and Harry will be there to stop him." Devon says
"I know you will." Alura says
Alura lowers herself down to the ground, offering to give Devon a ride down the hill.
"Come on. I'll give you a ride down to the station so you can see Harry off." Alura says
Devon nods his head and he climbs up onto Alura's back. The female unicorn rears up on her hind legs and lets out a loud whinny. Then, she races down the slope of the hill to the train station below with Devon holding onto her neck.
Down at the station, the students were already boarding the train. Hagrid was urging to students who weren't yet on board to hurry so that they wouldn't miss their departure.
"Come on now. Hurry up. You'll be late. Train's leaving. Go on, go on. Come on. Hurry up." Hagrid says
Harry, Ron, and Hermione had just finished packing their trunks into the storage compartment and were about to board the train when they heard a loud whinny that caused them to stop and look down the platform. Hagrid also heard the whinny, but he knew who it belonged to and he turned around and followed their gaze. The few students still on the platform and those already onboard the train looked down and out their windows at the platform to where they heard the whinny. They all saw Alura riding into the station with Devon on her back. As soon as she came to a stop, Devon jumps down onto solid ground and turns to Alura.
"Thanks." Devon says
Alura lowers her head down to Devon's level and gives him a kind smile.
"No. Thank you." Alura says
Devon wraps his arms around Alura's neck, embracing her in a hug. They soon pulled away and Alura trots back down the platform and heads back up the hill towards the Forbidden Forest.
Once she was gone, Devon turns and walks along the side of the station towards Hagrid. The half-giant looks over to his left as Devon walks over to his left-side, joining him as he bid the students farewell. Devon looks past the students over at Harry, Ron, and Hermione, waving to them with his left-hand while they wave back at him. Ron and Hermione entered the train car and stood at the door, waiting for Harry to join them. The wizard boy stared at the Keyblade Wielder and half-giant as they stood there, waiting for him.
"Come on, Harry." Hermione says
"One minute." Harry says
Harry heads over to Devon and Hagrid, wanting to say good-bye to them.
"Thought you were leaving without saying good-bye, did you?" Hagrid says
Hagrid digs his right-hand into the right-side pocket of his jacket and takes out a red photo album.
"This is for you." Hagrid says
Harry takes the book and opens it up. The very first picture he saw was one of his parents, Lily and James Potter, and him as a baby toddler. James held young Harry in his arms while Lily kissed his small left-hand with loving affection. Devon looks over at the picture and he couldn't help but feel happy for Harry. It was always good to have a nice family photo. Harry smiled fondly at the picture, then glances up at Hagrid.
"Thanks, Hagrid." Harry says
Hagrid extends his right-hand to Harry, giving him a handshake. Harry shakes his hand, then embraces the half-giant in a nice bear hug. After a moment's embrace, the two pull away.
"Go on. On with you. On with you now. On with you. Oh, listen, Harry. If that dolt of a cousin of yours, Dudley, gives you any grief, you could always, um, threaten him with a nice pair of ears to go with that tail of his." Hagrid says
"But, Hagrid, we're not allowed to do magic away from Hogwarts. You know that." Harry says
"I do... but your cousin don't, do he? Eh?" Hagrid says
Hagrid winks his right-eye at Harry and chuckles. Devon chuckles with him. Harry glances over at Devon and wishes him good-bye.
"Devon, thank you for everything. I couldn't ask for a better friend. I'm glad to have met you." Harry says
Devon smiles and pats Harry's shoulder with his right-hand.
"Don't ever mention it. I'm actually glad to have met you, too. Feels great to be friends with young wizards." Devon says
Devon and Harry embrace each other in a nice, long hug.
"You take care of yourself alright? Don't let your uncle, aunt, or cousin rough you up too much." Devon says
"I will." Harry says
The two boys soon pull away.
"Hey, if we're lucky, we'll meet up again at Hogwarts for next year. Who knows what else awaits us." Devon says
"I'd like that very much." Harry says
The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy share one final glance and smile with each other until Harry turns to go join his friends, who were patiently waiting for him.
"Feels strange to be going home, doesn't it?" Hermione asks
"I'm not going home." Harry says
Harry glances back at Devon and Hagrid, who were now the only ones on the platform.
"Not really." Harry says
The whistle on the Hogwarts Express blows as the train was now ready for departure. Devon gives the Wizarding Trio a two-fingered salute with his right-hand while Hagrid waves his left-hand. Harry steps into the compartment with his friends and closes the door. They both continue waving good-bye as Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a few other students leaned out the window waving back to them. Devon and Hagrid stood together as they watched the train heads out of the station.
"Well, it's time for me to head out, too. I've still got a big road ahead of me." Devon says
"And I wish you the best of luck, Devon. Thanks for looking out for Harry. It really means a lot." Hagrid says
Devon smiles and shrugs his shoulders.
"What can I say?" Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder looks back and watches as the Hogwarts Express continues out along the tracks, becoming smaller and smaller as it got further out into the distance.
"We're exactly the same. In more ways than one." Devon says
"That you are." Hagrid says
Devon and Hagrid both shake hands and share smiles with each other.
"See ya around, Hagrid." Devon says
Hagrid pulls Devon into a tight hug, catching him by surprise. His eyes widened as Hagrid, not knowing his strength, started crushing him. Hagrid soon realized and let go of Devon, who placed his right-hand on his chest to catch his breath. He soon looks up at the half-giant and chuckles. Hagrid smiles and nods his head to Devon, then goes off on his way down the platform, heading back to Hogwarts.
Devon glances up at the majestic castle as the light from the sun beamed down upon it, making the school look even more grand and magical. Deep down in his heart, he knew there would be many more adventures with Harry and his friends. But for now, he had to move on with his own journey.
Then, a large, circular section of the sky disappears like shattering glass, revealing the sleeping keyhole. Soul Calibur appears in Devon's right-hand in a flash of blue light, reacting to the presence of the keyhole. A pure aura envelopes Devon's body and his crystal Keyblade begins to shine brightly with its benevolent light. Devon aims his Keyblade up at the keyhole and a beam of light shoots out, striking the keyhole. The keyhole shines brightly and engulfs Devon with its light.
"Magic is forever." Devon says
Author's Note: So there you have it. Chapter one of Devon and Harry's adventure in the Wizarding World is over. But fear not, there are plenty more adventures along the way and their journey is far from over. I know that some of you are asking for Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and I want you all to know that I am planning on making a story for Devon's return to Narnia, but it will be more on the road to Kingdom Hearts 3. So, what sleeping world will Devon visit next? You'll just have to wait and see. Let me know what you guys think. No flames please. Hope you guys like and don't forget to review!
