Fun fact about Monroe, he's terrified of Chiko. The very sight of him and he's hiding, he tried begging Hawkeye to convince the colonel to throw it back to the streets like the rat it was but all he got was Roy threatening to burn him like he did with Havoc. Hawkeye explained that Breda was afraid of dogs and she still brings black Hayate to work with her and he doesn't mind which Breda says that Hayate just stays away from him and he's good.

Monroe thought that Chiko wouldn't always stay with the colonel when their alone but sure enough the little creature stayed with him, even in the bathroom. Roy had told Chiko to look away while he went because he didn't want the little creature to be traumatized, he'd never forgive himself. Chiko seemed to obey Roy and did what he was told but that didn't mean he'd leave Roy alone. He just stayed in the colonels hair all the time and when he ate he stayed on his shoulder.

Apparently Chiko can eat human food but was a little picky. He liked bread, he liked lettuce, tomato, nuts and rice but he doesn't like meat. Roy experimented with that and discovered that Chiko was a herbivore, not a omnivore. That ruled out him being a rat but Roy still couldn't figure out what kind of animal he was. Whenever he got a break he'd read books about what kind of animal would he be but always came up empty.

It was lunch time so they went to the cafeteria to get lunch. Roy was gonna eat in his office so Chiko could eat with him, Monroe noticed that Chiko wasn't with Roy and asked. "Hey uh, where's the rat colonel?" Roy glared at with with a dark aura, almost to daring him to say that again. "Chiko is hiding, I don't want any of the generals to see him." Monroe nodded and stopped talking in fear to feel the colonels wrath, Chiko had been with them for a month and the colonel was very protective of him like Hughes is with his daughter.

They had asked him to not start showering them with pictures like he did. Roy made it very clear that he will not swoop that low over with Chiko, he refuses and if he did start. Hawkeye is ordered to shoot him and knock some sense into him. As they got to the cafeteria Roy was behind Hawkeye as the others were in front of her. Roy let Monroe go first, knowing he'd do anything to reveal Chiko to the military.

As it was Roy's turn he asked for a little bowl of nuts. He was given it and took his food to the office to eat. Roy set the plate down and started to eat, Chiko got off him and started eating as well. Roy watched him eat and said after swallowing. "Your definitely in the mammalian and mouse family but what kind of mouse are you?" Chiko just looks at him confused and continues to eat. Roy chuckles at that and continues to eat as well. After he's done he starts doing his paperwork as Chiko just watch's him write. It was really cute that he took an interest in Roy doing his paperwork.

It was time to go home and Roy was tired of doing paperwork. He looks at Chiko and smiles saying. "You ready to go home Chiko?" Chiko gives a squeak and a nod that Roy just found adorable, he was about to get up when Hawkeye came in and said. "I'm sorry sir but you need to stay here and do your paperwork." "Huh? But I already did my paperwork! What'd I miss!?!" Roy and Chiko looked at her wide eyed shocked that he'd miss one when he'd been doing his work all day!

Hawkeye sighed and said. "Apparently Monroe forgot to mention that a you had a deadline for tomorrow morning. Saying that he was too scared to say anything about it." They stare at her in disbelief and asked. "Why didn't he say anything at the cafeteria? Chiko was hiding so it'd be impossible not to say anything." "I guess you frightened him when he said something about Chiko, what did he say sir?" Roy's eyes darkened and said. "He called Chiko a rat."

Hawkeye nodded and said. "Of course sir, I'd advise you to stay the night and finish your work sir." "Yes Lieutenant." Hawkeye shut the door as Roy banged his head on the desk, frightening Chiko. He stared at him in confusion as Roy sighed. "Monroe wasn't scared, he just didn't say anything because he wants me to suffer like always." He sighs and looks at Chiko saying. "You better get comfortable Chiko, we're gonna be here all night." Hawkeye came back with a bunch of papers and placed them on the desk, saying that there's more on their desk.

Roy sweat drop at this and did his work. After finishing the first rack of work, Roy stretched and yawned very tired. Chiko yawned with him, tired as well. Chiko had stayed awake with him for about three hours and they were tired. Roy got the next batch of paperwork and started writing, that one took two hours. Roy rubbed his eyes and slapped his cheeks lightly. "Come on Roy wake up." He got the next batch of paper work and started writing, half way through it he noticed Chiko was gone.

He got worried and went to go look for him, when he opened the door he saw a piece of paper on the floor attached to a ball of fluff. Roy picked him up and said. "There you are, where'd you go Chiko?" Chiko started squeaking panicky pointing to a desk with some more paperwork on it. "Oh. You noticed I forgot some papers and decided to grab them so I wouldn't be in trouble?" Chiko nodded as Roy smiled at him and said. "Thank you Chiko, your being very helpful."

Chiko got sparkly at the praise and Roy just smiled at him. He grabbed the paper on the floor and desk and went back to his office.

Edward and Alphonse Elric walk down the hallway so Edward can give his report to Roy. They walk into the office and see fury carrying paperwork. "Oh! Hey Edward, Alphonse. Good to see you guys!" "You too fury. Where's everyone else?" "Their not here yet. I got here early to work on the radio but looks like that'll have to wait. Apparently the colonel forget to send in the paperwork." "Where is the colonel? I have to give my report." "He never left. Apparently Monroe forgot to tell him that he had a deadline for the today so he never left." 'Bet he did that on purpose.' Both Elric brothers thought. "The colonels in his office if you want to see him but try not to scare him or say anything bad about Chiko. I'll see you later!" Fury ran out the door and down the halls with the papers as they looked at him confused.

"Who's Chiko?" "No idea. Lets got check on the colonel, I wanna see if he's hurt or not." "Yeah." The open the door and see Roy laying face down on his desk with his hand hanging off the desk and the other one under his forehead. They sweat drop at the sight to see Roy passed out. "I think it's best we let him sleep brother." "Yeah definitely. He seems tired. I wonder who Chiko is?" "Me too."

Ed notices something on the colonels head and decides to pluck it off, just when he was about to grab it the fuzzy thing moved. Ed yelped in panic that Roy and Chiko jolted awake and yelped with him. Roy looked at Ed and asked. "What're you doing!?!" "I'm just here to give you my report and saw something on your head and was gonna get it off but it Moved!" Roy glared at him and said. "It's not a 'it'! His name is Chiko!"

Ed and Al stare at him and said in unison. "That's Chiko?" Roy nodded and took Chiko out of his hair and showed it to the brothers. They got close to the fuzzy creature on the desk and stared at the creature as Roy said. "This is Chiko. I found him a month ago on the streets and when I tried to get him to go home, he followed me and we've been close ever since."

Al blushed and made an adored face at how cute Chiko was while Ed just stared. "Is he a mouse? He looks like a mouse." "I've checked but I couldn't find anything that described him. But I don't mind because he's the cutest thing In the world." Ed sweat drops at this and says. "Looks like you found yourself a pet colonel." "Yep." "Colonel is it okay if I pet him?" "Oh sure go ahead. I have to warn you though he's shy." "Oh okay."

Al goes to pet him with his finger but Chiko gets scared and goes to the colonel. Roy gives him a pet and says. "It's okay Chiko, he's very friendly. He won't hurt you I promise." Chiko looks at Roy and he nods confirming it's true. Chiko hops to Al and lets him pet him. Chiko shy's away but let's him pet him, Al had flowers around him with a blush and said. "He's so cute colonel." Ed looks at Roy and asks. "Do you know why he's shy?" "The day I found him he got into the bath with me and I saw bruises and a scar on him. I think his last owners were abusive, he was scared of me as well but he got used to me."

Ed and Al gasp at that and look at Chiko, who is currently rubbing his head against Al's finger. "Chiko." Chiko looked at Ed curiously and he said. "If we ever find the people the hurt you, we'll knock them into next week. I promise." Ed held out his finger to shake his hand, Chiko grabbed his hand and they shook on it. They all blushed on how cute that was, after Chiko shook hands with Ed he ran to Roy and held his hand.

Roy chuckles at this and looks at the brother saying. "Thank you guys, this means allot to me and Chiko." "No problem Colonel." "Yeah it's no big deal. So, how're you feeling?" "I feel fine, just tired is all." "You sure? No new bruises?" "None of any kind. Apparently Monroe's scared of mouses, he won't go near me with Chiko around but that doesn't mean he won't find other ways." Ed and Al nod in agreement, Ed hands Roy his report and he looks through it with Chiko on his head watching.

Ed and Al were happy that Roy found a friend that helps him with Monroe and that makes him happy. "The lead was a dead end?" "Yep. Just another knock off like in Liore." "Sorry to hear that. I'll check out some more leads." "Geez colonel, I was hoping that you wouldn't be like this when we got back but I guess in your old age you tend to change." "Watch it pipsqueak, I can still get you your lead but it might take longer then expect." "WHO'RE YOU CALLING A PIPSQUEAK YOU BASTARD!"

Roy just laughed and said. "I've missed this Fullmetal." Edward scowled but had a small smile. "I did to colonel. Welp, we're gonna do some research, see ya!" "See you later colonel Mustang!" Roy and Chiko waved at them as they left. Roy got up and went to the bathroom, he stood in front of the toilet and Chiko turned around. When he was done, he zipped up his pants and washed his hands.

Chiko checked the door frame and hide into Roy's hair, as general Hakuro came in. "Colonel Mustang." Roy turned off the water and saluted. "General Hakuro sir!" "At ease soldier. I'm just here to relieve myself." "Of course sir." Roy put his hand down and left the bathroom, he went back to the office and the others were already there.

He said good morning and went into his office as Chiko waved to everyone. They, minus Monroe, blushed at that and got to work. 'I have got to get rid of that rat so I can kill colonel Mustang, but how?' As Monroe thinks in Roy's office he's doing paperwork as Chiko watches. After awhile the brothers came back and Roy gives them a lead of the philosopher's stone. They exchange their goodbyes and Chiko waves them goodbye.

As they walk to the train station, Al looked at Ed and says. "Ed?" "Yeah Al?" "I'm glad the colonel found a pet, he seems really happy." "Me too Al and Chiko's helping him get better." "Yep." Ed and Al go on the train as Roy and Chiko look out the window with a smile.
