"This school is well known for its education and moral teachings. Every teacher in this school has been thoroughly tested for their professional and emotional standards. If there is a teacher that we believe is not right for the job we—"
"Why would we want to know that?" said Rosette.
"Yeah, it's not like we already know that already!" Joshua added.
"I just want to make you two feel as comfortable as possible. After all, I did used to live and work here." The man said.
The man was tall and had blonde hair that stopped just before his shoulders. He had warm blue eyes and an inviting warm smile.
"Now, this is your classroom. If you need any help then—"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know, come and find me and we'll help you along." Rosette assumed.
"Well, I guess I don't need to explain myself." The man smiled and started to walk away.
"Sir?" Joshua shouted, "What's your name so we can find you?"
"My name?" the man said, "My name is Ewan Remington."
2 Days Later….
"Now class, this school is much older than you think! This school was…"
Rosette was drifting off into her own world. She was imagining how much fun it would if you could go and tour the school yourself. What if Joshua and she could leave campus? What if they could both leave the school and leave wherever they want. But no, their parents' wills both clearly state that they would have to stay here until they are 18 and graduated from high school. Until then, she and Joshua would both have to deal with the school and the people within it.
"You may wonder around as you like," Sister Harumi announced, "But in one hour, you must end up back here. But, do not go down that corridor.
She directed her hand towards a long, dark corridor that seemed to never end.
"Understood?"
"Yes Ma'am!" the kids yelled.
After that, all you saw were kids running left and right, exploring their surrounding and running aimlessly around the foyer (where by the time Rosette tuned in she noticed that they had moved around quite a bit).
"Rosette," Joshua whispered, "why don't we leave here and go exploring ourselves?"
"What do you mean?"
"Let's go down the forbidden corridor!"
"No!" Rosette whispered back, "If we go down that way, we could get into serious trouble! You know that?"
"Yes, I do. So let's go!"
Joshua grabbed Rosette's hand and walked down the corridor. With every step taken, a light would flicker on to light their steps. Rosette started to tremble with fear and excitement. Joshua seemed to be having fun terrorizing her with his quietness. A sound like a glass shattering echoed through the corridor.
"JOSHUA!" Rosette screamed, "What was that, what was that?"
"Rosette, it was just a broken light that fell out of the socket." Joshua said lamely, "This hall is so long! When is it going to end?"
"I don't know, but I hope soon!"
"Joshua?"
"Yeah?"
"Maybe…we should go back to the to—"
"Rosette! Look at that door!"
A large door stood in their way. It was made out of gold and rubies. There was a cross and then a ruby in the middle of the cross."
"Joshua?"
"Yeah, Rosette?"
"Have we been here before?"
"I don't think so. Why?"
"It feels as if we have. But I just don't know why I feel that way…"
Joshua walked towards the door and to lean on it.
"Well, maybe someone told us about it before. You never know—"
The second Joshua shifted his weight on the door, the door glowed and flashed gold and outlined the cross. The door slowly opened and a dark room lay ahead of them.
"Joshua," Rosette , "I don't think we should stay, I think we should go—"
A person moaning in the distance echoed through out the room. Lights started to flood the room and the sound of computers running killed the sound of moaning. The room was silver and large and had glass windows. However, the glass windows were filled with darkness. Darkness that seemed to last forever. Darkness that made them question, what is waiting for us beyond it?
