Roy was in his office with the windows opened and his uniform jacket draped on the coffee table doing his paperwork with Chiko watching him on his desk. It was a hot day in central and the air conditioning was out in some of the offices. They had fans on but it didn't help with the scorching heat, it was hard for any of them to concentrate doing paperwork but until the damn AC guys came they would have to suffer. Hawkeye had left to get some fans for them but it took awhile sense everyone in the military bought fans for the heat. The guy that tried to kill Ed was an Ex member of the flying serpents because his tattoo was colored and he was captured later on, so Ed and Al can continue their search.

Roy had made a handmade fan and fanned himself with it because he was dying. He glances at Chiko and saw that she wasn't hot or sweating, he sighed and said. "Chiko, I envy you." Chiko looks at him and gives him a confused squeak. "Your not dying in this heat and your not even an animal, your so lucky. I'm not sure you'll like it but when we get home we're gonna take a cool bath because this heat is killing me." Roy gives an exhausted sigh and rolled up his sleeves to his elbows and unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt so he can cool off. As Roy did his work, Chiko notices his forearm had a scar that was the same as hers.

Roy finishes his paperwork and sighs in relief that he was done when he heard Chiko call out to him. He looks at her and asks. "What's wrong?" Chiko taps his arm that has the scar and then points to her own scar while lifting her little arm. Roy realizes that she was telling him that they have the same scars on their arms, Roy smiles at her and says. "Your right Chiko, their the same. Your a very smart girl." Chiko smiles at the praise very happy about it. Roy yawns and says. "Now that I'm done with these papers, let's take a nap." Chiko nods while yawning, Roy takes Chiko and goes to the couch to take a nap.

Roy lays down on his side while Chiko climbed up into Roy's hair and fell asleep. Roy closed his eyes hoping to sleep peacefully without Monroe taking advantage of it.

Hawkeye came back with the fans that came with praises and tears. They all immediately started fanning themselves with tears going down their eyes and smiles, Hawkeye looks at Roy's office and notices it very quiet. She looks at the men and asks. "Has anyone checked on the colonel in awhile?" Havoc looks at her and says. "Uh, last time I saw him he was doing his paperwork. Which still spooks me." "Same here, the only time the boss does his work is when he's seriously pissed. It's spooky." "Same here Breda. Same here."

As Havoc and Breda agrees that it's spooky for Roy to do his paperwork, Hawkeye was concerned. She hoped he didn't get heatstroke or a fever, she opens the door and goes in. She sees her commanding officer sleeping on the couch with Chiko on his head, she smiles at him and checks his skin. He was a bit warm but not life threatening, she grabs the fan and puts it next to him aiming it towards him to cool him off. She kneels next to him and watch's the wind blow his hair along with Chikos, she smiles as Roy smiles in relief.

Hawkeye puts her hand on his cheek and feels him cooling down, she leans towards his face and kisses his nose. She stands up with a smile but loses it when she sees a scar on Roy's arm and saw some bruises under his shirt. 'Has those always been there? How haven't I noticed?' She looks back at Roy sleeping face and takes her leave, when she gets into the others she looks at them and asks. "Has anyone noticed anything odd about the colonel?" "Other then his paperwork, nothing." "Alright let me rephrase that. Has anyone noticed anything physically odd about the colonel?" "Uh, no?" "Nope." "Apologies Lieutenant Hawkeye, I have not." "No sorry, oh wait! I have!" "What is it Kain?" "A year ago every time the colonel drank his coffee he always looked weak and sometimes when I give him some paperwork I catch him holding his side or back, like he was in pain. Why Lieutenant?" "I was just in there and saw some bruises and a scar on his forearm, it's looks about a year old." "Weird." "Definitely." "Mhm." "Oh no, I hope he's okay."

Monroe comes in and asks. "Do any of you know where the colonel is? I need to ask him something." "The colonel is busy at the moment, I can relay the message for you." "Uh, okay but it's from the Führer." Before Hawkeye could answer the door opened and they heard someone yawning. "(Yawning) What's this about the Führer?" They turn their heads to Roy at the door looking at them with tired eyes along with Chiko. Monroe got nervous and said. "Uh, he asked about those forms you signed." Roy looks at him confused and said. "I never got any forms from the Führer, unless their the ones I just signed." Roy went back in and got the papers for him, he came back and handed him the papers.

"Are these it?" Monroe looks at them and says. "Yes sir." Monroe leaves to summit them as Roy goes back into the office to sleep some more. "Colonel?" Roy looks at Hawkeye and says. "Mhm?" Hawkeye stares at her officer but smiles while shaking her head and says. "Nothing sir. Get some sleep." Roy looks her surprised but says. "Uh, will do Lieutenant." Roy goes back inside with a confused look on his face.

Roy and Chiko went home and had dinner, it was Rice and mango. Chiko got a new favorite fruit, after dinner they took a bath in the tub with cool/warm water in it. Roy watched as Chiko paddle in the water with a smile on her face, Roy brought his knees to chest and thought about this morning with the Lieutenant. 'That's not like her, I know she's worried about me not doing paperwork but to actually wish me a good rest? That's weird, doesn't she hate me?' Roy looks at his scar and grabbed it with his other hand, he rubbed it with his thumb and said. "I wonder," Chiko looks at her owner curiously from her little cup boat as it floats around. "If they still care even though Monroe has been lying to them?" He heard Chiko paddling and saw her swimming to him, he smiles at her and cupped his hands under her and brought her close to his face. "Whatever the case may be, as long as I have you, Edward, Alphonse, Gracia and Elicia then I'm fine."

Chiko smiled at him and started hopping, Roy chuckled at her and kissed her over the head. After awhile Roy got out and got dried off then got dressed, after he was done he dried Chiko off with a warm towel. After they were dry and cleaned, they got into bed and went to sleep. Chiko slept on Roy's head while Roy slept on his side, he didn't car if his team hated him or didn't want him anymore. As long as he had Chiko, the Elrics and the Hughes's then he was happy with life.
