52. Ultimate Pokémon Showdown

On New Island, inside the stadium, Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus stood away from Mewtwo, the Dark Echo, and their Clone Pokémon: Charizardtwo, Venusaurtwo, and Blastoisetwo. All of their Pokémon were taken, and they were now left at the mercy of the Genetic Pokémon and the shadowy wraith.

"Humans, you have served your purpose. We are sparing your lives... for the moment." Mewtwo says

Mewtwo spreads his hands out and his eyes emit a brief flash of blue-purple light. The two doors on the sides of the stadium and the one behind the group open wide to reveal the dark storm as it still raged on without end over the sea. The dark blue lightning bolts streaking across the sky with their ominous light. The group gaze back at the storm in shock, then turn back to face Mewtwo and the Dark Echo.

"But you cannot escape your fate. The hour of my vengeance draws near!" Mewtwo says

"SoOn NoW, HuMaNiTy ExIsTeNcE oN tHiS pLaNeT sHaLl Be NoThInG mOrE tHaN a MeMoRy. LoSt In TiMe AnD uTtErLy FoRgOtTeN." The Dark Echo says

Suddenly, a huge explosion tears through the entrance hall, causing Mewtwo and the Dark Echo to look to their right, and the group of Pokémon Trainers and Nurse Joy to look at their left. Through a large hole in the floor and the cloud of smoke emerge the Clone Pokémon, making their way over to their masters.

"Behold!" Mewtwo says

The group gasps in shock as the clones join Mewtwo and the Dark Echo's side.

"With Pokémon and Humans eliminated, the clones shall inherit the world!" Mewtwo says

"Stop right there, Mewtwo!" A voice says

Everyone glances back at the entrance hall and they saw a bright blue light. It was the benevolent light of the crystal Keyblade: Soul Calibur, shining through the thick smoke.

"You can't do this. We won't let you!" Another voice says

Two blurry figures appeared within the smoke as they walked forward. Eventually, their forms became clear and their identities were revealed. It was Devon and Ash Ketchum, both wearing serious, determined looks on their faces.

"It's Ash and Devon!" Brock exclaims

"Alright!" Misty exclaims

The two heroic boys were soon followed by Pikachu, and their own army of everyone's original Pokémon, much to the relief of the others. Charizard steps out of the smoke and lets out a mighty roar, breathing flames from his mouth. Psyduck trips on a rock and stumbles forward a bit, but he regains his footing as he follows the others while Vulpix walks past him on his right.

"Psyduck!" Misty exclaims happily

"Vulpix!" Brock exclaims happily

Devon, Ash, Pikachu, and their Pokémon walk over to the other side of the stadium opposite of Mewtwo, the Dark Echo, and their Clone Pokémon as they make their stand.

"You set them free." Mewtwo says

"That's right! We had to! We protect all our friends!" Ash says

"It Is UsElEsS tO cHaLlEnGe Us!" The Dark Echo says

"It's not going to end like this, Dark Echo! We won't let it!" Ash says

Devon places his left-hand on Ash's shoulder and nods at him. The Keyblade Wielder takes a few steps forward and looks over at Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo, listen. I understand why you're angry at humans and I don't blame you, but you're making a big mistake. Not all of us are bad." Devon says

"What do you know, human?! Your kind only value greed, power, and control! Nothing more! You humans steal and destroy, not caring at all about your actions, the Pokémon you hurt, or the world you pollute! Humanity's violation against nature must be punished!" Mewtwo says

"You've got it all wrong, Mewtwo. Greed and power does not rule a heart alone. There are other qualities that make us who we are. There's also compassion, love, kindness, and generosity. Sure, there are some people who are selfish, greedy, and controlling, but that doesn't mean that all humans are the same. There are some, like me and Ash, who actually care about life. We care about Pokémon and the world. I know you've suffered, Mewtwo, but this isn't the way to assert yourself." Devon says

"You don't know how I've suffered! You know nothing about me!" Mewtwo says

"Actually, I do. Remember when you said humans and Pokémon can never be friends. Well, you did befriend a human once. A little girl named Amber. She was the dead daughter of the man who created you." Devon says

Mewtwo's eyes widened and his face turned to shock.

"What?" Mewtwo says shocked

"It's true. You may not remember, but you met her back when you were growing up in the lab, and the two of you became close friends. She showed you many things in life. The sun, the moon, the wind, rain, the times of day and night. Those were were just some of the few things in life, but there's still so much more to learn. Dr. Fuji, Amber's father, he was trying to find a way to bring her back to life, and he was hoping to find the answer in you. I'm sure it may not have seemed like it at the time, but I'd believe Dr. Fuji cared for you a great deal just as much as any parent would love his child." Devon says

"How do you know all this?" Mewtwo asks

"Because I met her, Mewtwo. I met Amber. She cared so much about you, and I'm sure you felt the same way about her. The doctors gave you a serum that made you forget about Amber, but I know those memories are still there deep down inside." Devon says

For the first time in his life, the Genetic Pokémon was actually surprised. Did he really make friends with a human? Mewtwo looked down, not knowing what to make of this new information. But now that he thought on it, Mewtwo did remember something about meeting a little girl. It was a very faint memory, but it was there. Amber's giggles echoed in his mind.

"She was your best friend. Your first human friend. Wouldn't you have given anything to bring her back? Just to see her again?" Devon says

Mewtwo kept his gaze to the ground lost in his thoughts, unable to respond to the young teen. Devon glances down at Soul Calibur as he held it in his right-hand. Closing his eyes and letting out a sigh, he de-summons the crystal Keyblade in a flash of blue light, and looks back at Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo, please. Don't do this. You're not a monster. Amber wouldn't want any of this. She wouldn't want you to destroy the world, or people, or Pokémon. You love life, don't you? It's wonderful. There's still time to make things right. Please... If you would just give us a chance, we can show you the truth. The real truth." Devon says

Mewtwo continued staring down as he was still processing everything he had heard. He didn't know who to believe. Devon or the Dark Echo. Many emotions swelled up inside him. Confused for his friendship with a human. Anger for the human scientists making him forget about Amber. And sadness for the unfortunate death of his best friend. The Dark Echo looked over at Mewtwo on it's left, then glances over at Devon, uttering a deep, demonic growl.

"EnOuGh!" The Dark Echo bellows

The shadowy wraith stretches it's right-hand forward at the young teen and telekinetically ensnares him with it's dark powers. Devon was immobilized, unable to move as he froze up and grunted in pain. A black-red aura of darkness appears all over his body. The Keyblade Wielder was soon lifted off his feet and held floating in mid-air while he struggled against his restraints and the pain inflicted upon him. Both humans and Pokémon watched and gasped in shock.

"Aaaaah!" Devon screams in pain

"Devon!" Ash exclaims

Shifting it's deadly gaze toward Ash, the Dark Echo ensnares him as well, immobilizing the Pokémon Trainer with the same telekinetic grip and lifts him up into the air.

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu cries out

Both Devon and Ash were pulled closer to the Dark Echo until they were only inches away from the shadowy wraith, feeling it's cold, deathly, malevolent aura.

"Do NoT pErCeIvE tHeSe LiEs. ThEy ArE tHe PoIsOn Of HuMaNiTy. SuCh A vIoLeNt SpEcIeS cAnNoT bE tRuStEd. CoMpAsSiOn, KiNdNeSs, LoVe... HuMaNs ArE iNcApAbLe Of SuCh FlEeTiNg EmOtIoNs. ThEy ArE vIlE, CoRrUpT, uNwOrThY oF tHe ChOiCe BeTwEeN gOoD aNd EvIL. ThEiR oNlY sAlvAtIoN iS dEaTh. If YoU aRe WiLlInG tO dIe FoR yOuR pReCiOuS wOrLd AnD tHeSe PaThEtIc CrEaTuReS, ThEn AlLoW mE tO hAsTeN yOuR dEmIsE." The Dark Echo says

The Dark Echo tightens it's three-clawed hand into a fist, increasing the pressure of it's telekinetic grip on the two boys while they struggled and grunted in pain.

"Ash! Devon!" Misty cries out

"No! Stop it!" Brock shouts

With a thrust of it's bony hand, the Dark Echo sends Devon and Ash flying at a high point of the palace toward one of the spires while they screamed. Suddenly, a large, pink bubble appears out of thin air, saving the Keyblade Wielder and Pokémon Trainer from what could've been a fatal crash. The two boys bounce up off the bubble into the air, and fall back down.

"What?!" Mewtwo says surprised

The shadowy wraith lowers it's hand as it saw the pink bubble, hardly surprised by it's appearance. There was only one creature that could create a bubble like this. That creature was none other than the Mythical Pokémon, Mew, as it flies up to Devon and Ash, revealing itself to everyone.

"Mew." Mew squeals

The Keyblade Wielder and Pokémon Trainer stare in awe at the legendary Pokémon as it flew up to them.

"Mew..." Devon says

Mew flies closer to the two boys and pops the pink bubble with it's left-paw, causing them both to fall on their rumps onto the spire. Ash's hat falls off his head during the drop, but Mew kindly picks it up and places the hat back on Ash's head.

"Thanks." Ash says

Mew covers it's mouth with it's paws and giggles with it's cute voice. Suddenly, the blue crystal Kingdom Hearts sigil on Devon's necklace emits a brief flash of light, which Devon, Ash, even Mew noticed.

"Mew?" Mew squeals in a curious voice

The small Pokémon came closer to Devon, taking much interest in his necklace. As Mew got closer to Devon, the crystal heart started to glow with it's precious light, becoming brighter and brighter until the Mythical Pokémon was inches infront of the Keyblade Wielder. It seemed like Devon's necklace was reacting to Mew's presence. Mew stares at the Kingdom Hearts sigil, seemingly recognizing the symbol, then looks up at Devon, and it's face beamed with happiness.

"Mew! Mew! Mew!" Mew squeals cheerfully

The Mythical Pokémon cuddles up to the Keyblade Wielder and nuzzles itself against his body. Devon and Ash shared glances with each other, then look down at the small Pokémon. Obviously, Mew knew that Devon was a Keyblade Wielder, judging by how it saw the crystal Kingdom Hearts sigil on his necklace, and how incredibly friendly it was toward him. A smile formed on Devon's face and he pets Mew with his right-hand, stroking down it's back while it crooned in content to his gentle touch.

"Mew..." Mew squeals in a content voice

Down below in the stadium, everyone could see Mew as it interacted with Devon and Ash and each of them had questioning looks on their faces.

"Is that...?" Brock asks

"A Pokémon?" Misty asks

"Can it be?" Mewtwo asks

"It Is. YoUr GeNeTiC pArEnT. MeW..." The Dark Echo says

Mewtwo looks over at the Dark Echo on his right, then shifts his gaze back up at the Mythical Pokémon.

"Mew." Mew squeals cheerfully

Mew flies around in a circle and creates another pink bubble, then playfully bounces up and down, squealing happily in it's fun while the Keyblade Wielder and Pokémon Trainer watch. Suddenly, a black and dark blue of energy is shot forth from the ground, bursting Mew's bubble. Devon and Ash gasp in shock and surprise, and both they and Mew look toward the stadium down below. The attack came from Mewtwo, who had used his Shadow Ball. He forms another Shadow Ball in his hands and hurls it up at Mew, who teleports away in a flash of light. Mewtwo continues with his attack, throwing three more Shadow Balls at Mew, only to miss as the small Pokémon teleports away each time. Mew reappears and giggles with it's voice.

"I've read about that one." Brock says

"Right. The Mythical Pokémon." Nurse Joy says

Mew flies down to confront Mewtwo and the Dark Echo while they gaze up at the Mythical Pokémon.

"Mew... So finally we meet." Mewtwo says

"Mew." Mew squeals

"Mew?" Corey says confused with the Pokémon's name

"Mew?" Mew squeals upon hearing it's name glancing over at the group on the right

"I may have been cloned from your DNA, but now I will prove that Mewtwo is better than the original. Superior to Mew!" Mewtwo says

"Mew." Mew squeals looking back at Mewtwo

"Mew and Mewtwo." Corey says

"So Mewtwo was cloned for Mew." Neesha says

"This world is too small for two of us!" Mewtwo says rising up into the air

Mew turns around and flies away and Mewtwo gives chase, hurling more Shadow Balls at the Mythical Pokémon. They both fly high up into the air near Devon and Ash and Mewtwo throws two Shadow Balls at Mew, who quickly flies up and down, dodging both dark balls as they shoot up into the dark sky. Mew soon hides from Mewtwo behind a stone column underneath a multi-pillar arch with it's head peeking out from the right.

"Why do you flee from me? Are you afraid to find out which of us is greater?" Mewtwo taunts

Mew remains silent and turns to fly away while Mewtwo continues his pursuit. He forms a Shadow Ball in his hands and hurls it a Mew. The attack misses as Mew flies higher up into the sky above the palace and the Shadow Ball hits the surrounding sea, creating a huge splash with the water shooting several feet into the air. Mewtwo chases Mew around the Island until he stops and flies off in another direction to cut it off. Mew flies around the tallest spire of the palace and looks back, believing it had lost Mewtwo. But then the small Pokémon stops as Mewtwo was now infront of it with a Shadow Ball in between his hands. With a grunt, Mewtwo hurls the dark ball at Mew, landing a direct hit and sending it flying into the dark clouds. A blue light follows soon after, probably from an explosion.

"Hmph!" Mewtwo scoffs in triumph

The Dark Echo gazes up at the clouds where Mew was sent flying and it held a sinister smile, though it could not be seen as it had no face, save for it's glowing red eyes, chuckling with it's deep, demonic voice.

"Hm Hm Hm." The Dark Echo chuckles

Everything was still and silent as everyone glances up at the sky where Mew vanished. Suddenly, a pink ball of light shoots down from the clouds and strikes Mewtwo, sending him flying past the Dark Echo's right, who didn't even bother looking back, and crashes into the stadium in a cloud of smoke. Mew flies down soon afterwards, unharmed and unscathed by the Shadow Ball. Mewtwo emerges from the smoke, encased within his Barrier having survived the surprise attack.

"So, you do have some fight in you." Mewtwo says

Mewtwo flies over to his army of Clone Pokémon and hovers above them while Mew hovers down above the originals as they confront each other.

"But I have no time for games. Destiny is at hand! Who will rule? My super Pokémon? Or your pathetic group of spineless, inferior Pokémon?" Mewtwo says

"Mew." Mew squeals

"We were created with powers far stronger than the originals!" Mewtwo says

"Mew! Mew Mew Mew! Mew Mew! Mew!" Mew squeals excitingly

Over at the entrance hall, Jessie, James, and Meowth emerge from the hole as they arrive on the scene and they hear Mew's squeals as it tried to reason with it's clone. Meowth understood what Mew was saying and he crosses his arms in agreement.

"Mew's got a good point." Meowth says

"Meowth? Translation?" James asks

"What's it saying?" Jessie asks

"Mew says you don't prove anything by showing off a lot of fancy moves and special powers. The Pokémon's real strength come from the heart." Meowth says

"A Pokémon's real strength, you say?!" Mewtwo says

Mewtwo forms a Shadow Ball in his right-hand and holds it menacingly as he stares at Mew in disgust.

"My clones don't need their powers to prove their worth!" Mewtwo says

Mewtwo hurls the Shadow Ball at Mew, who flies out of the way. The dark ball misses, but it strikes the spire that Devon and Ash were still on, causing the floor beneath them to crumble away. The two boys run and jump across the collapsing archway, catching the ledge and saving themselves from a very high fall. The Dark Echo hovers behind Mewtwo and encourages him to prove that he and his Clone Pokémon are stronger.

"ThIs Is YoUr DeFiNiNg MoMeNt. PrOvE yOuR sUpErIoRiTy. PrOvE tHaT yOu, MeWtWo, ArE tHiS wOrLd'S mOsT pOwErFuL PoKéMoN. ThAt OnLy ThE sTrOnG aRe ViCtOrIoUs!" The Dark Echo says

Mewtwo nods his head in agreement and the Dark Echo flies off.

"I will block all the Pokémon's special abilities using my psychic powers. Now, let us see who triumphs." Mewtwo says

The Dark Echo hovers high above the stadium, gazing down at the two Pokémon armies as they stood at their sides of the battlefield.

"UnLeAsH yOuR aGgReSsIoN... GiVe In To ThE hAtReD..." The Dark Echo says

The Pokémon on both sides growled and snarled at each other, ready to fight.

"FiGhT!" The Dark Echo bellows

With that, the two armies of Pokémon charged forward at each other, save for Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, who remain defiant.

High above the stadium, Devon and Ash pull themselves up and take a moment to catch their breath. Devon stood up on his left-knee while Ash panted on all fours.

"Ash? You alright?" Devon asks in concern

"Yeah." Ash says

Devon looks back down at the stadium and he quickly got up to his feet, gasping in shock.

"Ash! Look!" Devon exclaims

Ash rose up to his feet and followed Devon's gaze. The two boys were horrified by what they saw. Down in the stadium below, a brutal, widespread battle between the Pokémon ensued with each of the originals fighting against their respective clones. Even Squirtle and Bulbasaur were caught up in the battle as they were forced to defend themselves against their attacking clones. The Keyblade Wielder and Pokémon Trainer watched with widened eyes and open mouths until Devon gripped his right-hand into a fist. They had to stop the fighting before it gets out of control.

"Come on! We gotta get down there!" Devon says glancing right at Ash

"Right!" Ash says nodding his head

While Devon and Ash began their descent, the battle between the two Pokémon armies raged on. Shellshocker and Blastoisetwo pushed and shoved each other like sumo wrestlers using their brute strength in their fight. Nurse Joy and the group of Pokémon Trainers quickly move out of the way as Shellshocker was pushed back against the wall by his clone. Charizard and his clone headbutted each other, then fought with their long tails, their claws, their teeth, and their strength. Bruteroot and his clone rammed their heads together, while the two Golduck fought with punches, and the two Hitmonlee with their legs, kicking at one another. The Rhyhorn, Vaporeon, Vulpix, and Ninetales tackled with one another while the Nidoqueen wrestled and threw punches. The two Bulbasaur charged and headbutted each other, while the two Sandslash fought with their long claws. Squirtle and his clone fought with punches until Squirtletwo knocks his original to the ground and body slams him. Gyaradostwo bites into it's original with it's powerful jaws, causing it to roar in pain until Gyarados throws off it's clone and wrestles with it's serpentine body. The two Scyther clashed with their large, white scythe-like arms while the two Rapidash gallop around, tackling with their bodies and kicking with their hind legs. The Seadra, Tentacruel, Vileplume, Wigglytuff, and Dewgong wrestled with one another, while the two Pidgeot fought their battle in the air, attacking with their sharp beaks and talons. And Psyduck and his clone just took turns slapping each other and holding their heads.

Mewtwo and Mew both hovered in the air high above the battlefield as they faced off in their own battle. Mewtwo glowed with a dark blue aura of psychic energy while Mew glowed with pink psychic energy, and the two legendary Pokémon both clashed with incredibly strong blows, darting back and forth over the stadium.

As all the fighting between the original and clone Pokémon raged on both sides, the Dark Echo observed them from high above the tallest spire of the palace, staring down at Mewtwo, Mew, and all the Pokémon with it's evil gaze.

"Hm Hm Hm Hm Hm... YeS... DeStRoY eAcH oThEr... FoR sOoN, AlL yOu PaThEtIc CrEaTuReS sHaLl KnOw OnLy PaIn... OnLy SuFfErInG... OnLy DeSpAiR... BoTh SiDeS dImInIsH, aNd DaRkNeSs FiLlS tHe VoId." The Dark Echo chuckles

Down in the stadium, Pikachu, the only defiant Pokémon on the battlefield who knew that this fighting was pointless, watches with a horrified expression as all the other Pokémon continued with their fighting. Then, he came across his clone, Pikachutwo, who stared at his original with a menacing glare and growled with his cheeks sparking with electricity.

"Chu..." Pikachutwo growls

"Pika..." Pikachu says

Several feet above the battlefield, Devon and Ash were about halfway down to the stadium as they carefully climbed their way down the stone web-like structures. Devon was a little ways ahead of Ash being slightly further down beneath him. Ash nearly lost his grip and slid off, but he manages to hold on.

Back down on the ground, Pikachutwo chases after his duplicate to attack him, but Pikachu runs away, refusing to fight.

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo yells

Eventually, Pikachutwo catches up with Pikachu and tackles him into the ground.

"Pika!" Pikachu cries out in pain

Pikachu slowly gets back up on all fours, only to get knocked into the air by Pikachutwo, who rams into his left-side.

"Pika!" Pikachu cries out in pain

Everything moves in slow motion as the chaos of the battle spirals out of control. Charizardtwo bites into Charizard's neck with it's teeth, causing it to roar out in pain. Shellshocker and Blastoisetwo both tackle each other and fall to the ground. The two Nidoqueen wrestle pathetically and they fall over ontop of each other exhaustingly. Both Scyther clash with their blades and they collapse in exhaustion. Bruteroot, Venusaurtwo, and the two Bulbasaur headbutt each other weakly and they fall flat on their stomachs. Both Squirtle collapse and fall on top of each other. The two Rapidash tackle each other and they fall over on their sides, wounded and tired. Already, the fighting was taking a devastating toll on the Pokémon on both sides. Nurse Joy and the Pokémon Trainers were utterly helpless to do anything to stop the battle as they watched the unrelenting brutality with shocked and pained expressions.

"What good is this fighting?! They're either originals or copies, but they're all alive!" Nurse Joy says

"This is wrong!" Misty says

"Even if they're copies, they're all living in the same world." Brock says

"Pokémon aren't meant to fight. Not like this. It's useless. What can come out of it?" Nurse Joy says

"Nothing, but pain." Neesha says

"Why can't Mewtwo understand it's wrong to force Pokémon to fight this way?!" Brock asks

"Originals and copies! They're all living creatures! This just proves that fighting is wrong! Does winning or losing really matter?!" Misty says

Team Rocket, who stood at the entrance hall, were also horrified by the fighting as they watched equally helpless. Even if they were criminals, they couldn't take in what was unfolding before them. It was in that moment that they had a change of heart.

"We tell others to prepare for trouble, but I was not prepared for this." James says

"Make that double, for me. It troubles my heart to see them all this way." Jessie says

"It seems like they're only hurting themselves. Now I can see how horrible fighting really is." James says

"It's like seeing your old self..." Jessie says

"Battling with your present self." James says

"Even the best of friends will fight sometimes." Jessie says

"I promise never to fight again if you will." James says

The red and blue-haired humans turned and shared sad glances with each other, then they break down and cry in each other's arms.

"Oh, Jessie!" James sobs

"Oh, James!" Jessie sobs

Meowth looks at his fellow Team Rocket members on his right and rolls his eyes, letting out a sigh. Then, he jumps back startled as his clone, Meowthtwo, approaches him.

"Meowth!" Meowthtwo growls

Both Meowth and his clone brandish their claws and they hiss and growl at one another as they seemed ready for a fight. But soon they stop and take a moment to realize the senselessness of their fighting.

"Eh... What am I doing?" Meowth asks glancing down at his claws

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"I'll bet these claws really hurt." Meowth says still staring at his claws

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"You've got a lot of nerve being here, you know? The rest are duking it out!" Meowth says pointing at his clone with his left-paw

"Meowth Meow Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"You're telling me I've got even more nerve? Just cause I'm not duking it out?" Meowth says

"Meowth Meowth." Meowthtwo says pointing at the claws of his original

"Oh, so you think my claws would hurt a lot, too." Meowth says looking back down at his claws

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says in agreement

"Well, your claws would hurt a lot more, you know! And let's get one thing straight, copycat! Youowth ain't gonna push Meowth around!" Meowth says pointing back at his clone with his left-paw

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"You mean we don't have to fight with each other? But how can I trust you? You was born different." Meowth says

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"I almost made a clawful mistake! But how do I know you're not gonna pull a fast one on me?" Meowth asks

"Meow Meow Meowth." Meowthtwo says shifting it's gaze upward

Meowth follows the gaze of his clone as they both look up at the eye of the storm, seeing the calm, night sky as the stars glimmered with their white light.

"You're right! We do have a lot in common. The same earth, the same air, the same sky." Meowth says

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"Maybe if we start at looking at what's the same, instead of looking at what's different, well, who knows?" Meowth says

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says

"You want to know if tonight's gonna be a full moon? Yup. I think tonight is gonna be a full moon, filled to the top! Wow. Thinking of the moon at a time like this... You know, palley, you've got class." Meowth says

"Meowth." Meowthtwo says in agreement

As the Pokémon grew weaker in the stadium, Mew and Mewtwo continued their own battle in the skies above, tackling each other back and forth with their psychic energy.

Devon and Ash were still continuing on with their descent until they stop and notice Pikachu getting knocked around by his clone. The yellow mouse rolls across the ground and stops on his stomach while Pikachutwo stood before him and panted for breath, taunting his original to fight.

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo shouts

Pikachu forces himself back to his feet and turns to face Pikachutwo, shaking his head in defiance.

"Pikachu." Pikachu says in a sad tone

"Pika!" Pikachutwo shouts

The clone tackles into Pikachu, knocking him down to the ground.

"Pikachu!" Ash exclaims

Grunting in determination, Ash picks up his speed and climbs down the rocks even faster. Unfortunately, his rapid descent cause him to lose his grip and his footing. Ash screams and falls through the air and onto the stands, landing on his back and rolling down the steps.

"Ash!" Devon exclaims

Devon carefully climbs down to the stands and rushes over to Ash as he groans in pain. He grabs Ash's left-arm and places it over his shoulders as he helps him up, then they glance back at the stadium as the two Pikachu face one another.

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo shouts

"Pika Pika." Pikachu says shaking his head

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo shouts

Pikachutwo starts slapping Pikachu's face endlessly with his paws while he just stood there and took the beating. Ash and Devon watched in shock.

"Pikachu!" Ash exclaims

Pikachutwo gives his original duplicate one slap that knocks him to the ground, but Pikachu slowly got back up and turned to face his clone, who continued panting for breath.

"Quit it! Please! Stop!" Ash shouts

Ash and Devon jump down from the stands and back onto the stadium floor. Devon lands okay in a crouched position, but Ash collapses and falls flat on his stomach, still reeling from the pain of his earlier fall. Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus rush over to them.

"Ash! Devon!" Brock exclaims

"Guys!" Devon exclaims

Brock helps lift Ash onto his feet while Corey and Neesha both give Devon a hand helping him up.

"Are you two alright?" Misty asks in concern

"We gotta stop this!" Ash says

"Ash is right! We need to put an end to this fighting! These poor Pokémon are gonna kill each other!" Devon says

"We can't. All Mewtwo cares about is proving how strong his super clones are. Until Mew and Mewtwo stop, the fighting goes on." Brock says

The group glances up at the sky as the two legendary Pokémon exchanged blows back and forth, darting from one side of the stadium to the other.

"Living things won't give up their territory to other members of their own species." Nurse Joy says

"But that means..." Misty says

The group looks over at all the Pokémon in the stadium as one by one each of them collapse from exhaustion.

"They'll battle until one is defeated... till only one remains." Nurse Joy says

"That's how living things are? But Mewtwo was created by humans." Brock says

"And yet, it's a living thing." Misty says

"They're alive all right. Both Mew and Mewtwo! And Pikachu! And the other Pikachu too!" Ash says

"I'd rather risk my life in the storm than having to watch these Pokémon destroy each other." Nurse Joy says

"Me too." Misty says

"I wish there was some way to stop them! I don't know what to do?!" Nurse Joy says

"I don't think they'll ever stop. Those Pokémon look like they're ready to fight to the death!" Brock says

"That's a fight that nobody's going to win." Misty says

"Someone's gotta take a stand. Someone's gotta say no, and refuse to fight, just like Pikachu." Ash says

Everyone looks out at Pikachu as he stood and took more slaps from Pikachutwo. Now, it was completely exhausted as it weakly slaps Pikachu twice before falling over onto him.

Mew and Mewtwo clash with devastating force and they come crashing down to the center of the stadium, kicking up a cloud of smoke that engulfs the whole stadium, and a strong shockwave, which blows everyone away. The intense magnitude of such concentrated power knocks out the electricity to the entire island as the stadium lights short out. When the dust settles, Mew and Mewtwo were the only two Pokémon left standing on the battlefield as they emitted pink and blue auras of psychic energy. The legendary Pokémon clash again with incredible strength and were knocked back to their respective sides of the stadium.

Devon and Ash force themselves up and they look around the stadium in shock and horror. Both the real Pokémon and the clones were so exhausted and wounded, they had worn themselves down to the point of death, unable to fight anymore as they all lie on each other and pathetically attempt to breathe. The two boys were completely horrified at the pain and anguish felt on both sides of the battle.

"Oh, no... The Pokémon..." Devon says quietly

Then, they glance over at Mew and Mewtwo as they glow with large amounts of psychic energy. The Dark Echo observes the clash from atop the tallest spire and it's eyes narrow evilly as Mew and Mewtwo prepared to exchange blows once more.

"OnE lAsT bLoW... AnD tHeSe PaThEtIc CrEaTuReS sHaLl DiE! AnD tHeN, ThEiR sOuLs WiLl Be MiNe!" The Dark Echo says

Ash was frightened and angered by the continuous fighting. He couldn't take it anymore. This battle had to stop now, or else the Pokémon would die. And there was only one way to do it. Grunting with anger, Ash gets up to his feet and desperately runs to the center of the stadium to put an end to this futile massacre and prevent disaster. Devon's eyes widened as he realized what Ash was about to do and he chases after the Pokémon Trainer to stop him.

"Ash! Don't!" Devon shouts

"Will you guys stop?!" Ash shouts

Within moments, Mew and Mewtwo both unleash their energy, sending powerful psychic blasts at each other.

"Knock it off!" Ash shouts

"Ash! No!" Devon screams

Ash runs into crossfire between Mewtwo and Mew and is hit full-force by both their attacks. Devon was blown away by the strong shockwave of the blast and was sent flying backwards.

"Gaaaah!" Devon exclaims

The Keyblade Wielder falls on his back and skids across the ground until he slows to a stop.

"Ash! Devon!" Misty exclaims

"Oh no!" Brock exclaims

Pikachu and his clone look up as Ash was struck by the psychic blasts and their faces became full of shock.

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu exclaims

Both electric mouse Pokémon duck down as the blast wave hits and flows over them. Soon, the psychic explosion dissipates and Ash falls to the ground, laying lifeless on his stomach with his body glowing with white light. Mewtwo was taken aback by Ash's recklessness, thinking he must've been out of his mind to try stop his fight with Mew.

"Foolishness! A human trying to stop our battle!" Mewtwo says surprised

"Mew..." Mew squeals in a sad tone

The Dark Echo also saw what happened from it's vantage point and was hardly surprised by Ash's sacrifice. Only a foolish human would give his life to save the Pokémon.

"HmPh. PaThEtIc HuMaN." The Dark Echo says

Everything was now completely still as the stadium fell silent. Devon groans as he slowly recovers from the blast.

"Mmm... Ugh..." Devon groans

The Keyblade Wielder slowly sits up and he winces and hisses from the pain in his back. Devon falls over onto his right-side using his left-hand to catch himself. Then, he looks out toward the center of the stadium to see Ash lying flat on his stomach after being hit by the psychic attacks.

"Ash..." Devon says

Devon tries to stand on his feet, but the pain causes him to stumble forward and collapse.

"Unh!" Devon grunts

Forcing himself back up, Devon makes his way over to Ash. A sharp pain went through his back and it increased with each step he took, causing him to wince. Once he reaches his best friend, Devon falls down on all fours and watches with a horrified expression as Ash's petrified body turns to black stone. His breath becomes shaken as he stares in disbelief.

"No..." Devon gasps

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu cries out

Devon glances over at his left to see Pikachu rushing over to check on him and his Trainer. Pikachu looks up at Devon on his right with worry clear on his face.

"Pika..." Pikachu says

"Pikachu... I..." Devon says in a solemn, quiet voice

The yellow electric mouse turns to Ash and tries to wake him up by nudging him, but he remains motionless with no signs of life.

"Pika Pi? Pikachu?" Pikachu says

Pikachu continued nudging Ash's petrified body as his voice grew with worry, fearing that he had lost his Trainer.

"Pika! Pika Pi! Pikachu!" Pikachu says

All of the Pokémon, including the clones watched with sad expressions as Pikachu kept calling out to Ash. Even Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, and the others look on the sad scene with horrified expressions.

"Ash... Please no..." Misty says

After receiving no response from Ash, Pikachu takes a few steps back and tries something else. A trick that has worked for him many times in his adventures with Ash. With electricity sparking from his red cheeks, Pikachu uses his Thunderbolt and gives his Trainer an electric shock.

"Pika... chu!" Pikachu says

Yellow electricity envelopes Ash's body, but nothing happens. This was probably due to the fact that Ash's body had been turned to stone, and electricity has no effect on rock. Refusing to give up, Pikachu tries again with another Thunderbolt.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu says

Pikachu tries to revive Ash with more electric shocks using seven Thunderbolts, but his attempts were in vain. Devon was amazed to see how determined Pikachu was in his efforts to save Ash. It showed how much the yellow mouse really loved him. Eventually, Pikachu had used up all of his electric energy, and stops for a second to take a breather. Realizing now that his beloved Trainer and best friend was gone forever, Pikachu starts to cry with tears swelling up in his eyes.

"Pika Pi..." Pikachu sobs with a sad, broken voice

Soon, all of the Pokémon, having to see this sad sight, began crying with their voices for Ash as well, inspired by his noble and brave sacrifice in the name of their salvation. Pikachu's crying was the loudest out of the Pokémon's voices. As the Pokémon cried, something incredible happened. The water of their tears began to glow with light like tiny shining stars, and as they fell from their faces, they flowed towards the center of the stadium in sparkling streams. Pikachu stopped his crying when he noticed the gathering tears enter Ash's body. Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, Mew, and even Mewtwo watch in stunned amazement as the glowing tears magically floated about in the air around them. Devon gazed around at the Pokémon as he saw what was happening and he remembered something that Amber told him during their first meeting as her voice echoed in his mind.

"All living beings cry when they're in pain, but only humans cry from sadness. When Pokémon are sad and when they cry, their tears are full of life."

The light of the tears engulfed the whole stadium, making it a wonderous sight to behold. Soon, Ash's frozen body glowed with a bright blue light, causing everyone to stare in amazement. Pikachu's tears were the last to enter Ash's body as he stared at his best friend. Then, a pillar of heavenly light shines down from the sky through the eye of the storm, bathing Ash, Devon, and everyone in the stadium with it's light. And right before their eyes, Ash was miraculously resurrected as the light leaves him and his body returns to normal. Devon's back was also healed as the light bathed down on him, relieving him of the pain and causing him to gasp in surprise. He sits down and lets out a sigh. Ash starts to groan as he wakes up. The first thing he sees is the joy in Pikachu's face as he smiles upon seeing him alive. Ash also smiles as he looks upon his Pokémon partner.

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu exclaims happily

"Pikachu!" Ash says happily

Overwhelmed with joy, the yellow mouse runs into Ash's arms, nuzzling him with such affection. Devon rested his right-arm on his right-knees and he smiled at the happy moment.

Misty, Brock, Nurse Joy, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus look on at the scene with happy expressions, overjoyed to see Ash revived. Togepi emerges from Misty's bag and squeals happily.

"Togepi!" Togepi squeals

The group look over at Togepi in Misty's bag and they chuckled, sharing a laugh with one another. Even the Pokémon, both original and clone, were overjoyed by the miracle.

Squirtle and Bulbasaur shared happy glances with their counterparts. Charizardtwo gave it's original a gentle lick to his face while Charizard smiles with a happy grunt and a growl. Pikachutwo held a smile on it's face, happy to see Ash revived while the two Pidgeot on it's right squawked happily. The Rapidash whinnied happily as they stood up on their hind legs and kicked their fore legs while the Wigglytuff, and Vileplume jumped up and down, cheering with their voices.

Ash soon stood up onto his feet and held Pikachu in his hands, both still happy as can be. Then, a hand touches Ash's left-shoulder, causing him and Pikachu to look over. It was Devon, who was just as glad to see him alive. The Keyblade Wielder smiles and nods his head to the Pokémon Trainer. Ash's smile grew bigger as he saw Devon and he chuckles happily as he came closer, putting his arm around him.

Mew and Mewtwo hovered above the stadium, gazing down at the Pokémon as they celebrated. After witnessing all that he had seen and seeing the happy faces of both humans and Pokémon, including his clones, Mewtwo had a change of heart. Finally, he realized the truth.

"It is true that both you and I are living beings... Pokémon." Mewtwo says glancing over at Mew on his left

"Mew." Mew says nodding it's head

"A human sacrificed himself to save the Pokémon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences that they revealed the true power they all shared deep inside." Mewtwo says

"Mew." Mew says nodding it's head

"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." Mewtwo says

"HoW pAtHeTiC." A dark voice says

The two legendary Pokémon quickly turn around upon hearing the Dark Echo's voice and they saw the shadowy wraith hovering before them. Before they could even do anything, the Dark Echo extends it's right-hand out toward Mew and Mewtwo, ensnaring both of them with it's telekinetic grip. Mew and Mewtwo tried to break free, but to no avail. They were helpless against the Dark Echo's tremendous power. Just as it did before with Devon and Ash, a black-red aura of darkness appears on Mew and Mewtwo's bodies while they grunted against the agonizing pain. Everyone down in the stadium glanced up and their faces turned to shock as they saw what was happening.

"YoU dIsApPoInT mE, MeWtWo. HoW lOw YoU hAvE fAlLeN. WhAt CoUlD yOu PoSsIbLy Be ThInKiNg? Do YoU hOnEsTlY bElIeVe ThAt YoU cAn AcTuAlLy CoExIsT wItH tHeSe HuMaNs? ThAt YoU tHiNk YoU cAn FiNd YoUr PlAcE aMoNg ThEiR kInD? YoU aRe An OuTcAsT, a CoPy, a PrOdUcT oF sCiEnCe. ThE hUmAnS wiLl NeVeR aCcEpT yOu FoR wHaT yOu ArE oR wHaT yOu ShApE yOuRsElF tO bE. YoU wErE aNd AlWaYs WiLl Be A mAn-MaDe AbOmInAtIoN." The Dark Echo says

"I am no abomination! I am a living being! A Pokémon! Thanks to these humans and the Keyblade Wielder, I now realize the mistakes of my judgement! I was wrong to have judged the humans harshly. It was you who controlled me since the beginning! You showed me only lies and deceived me with vile trickery! I will not submit to your evil!" Mewtwo says

"YoU wOuLd RaThEr FoRgIvE hUmAnItY fOr ThEiR aTrOcItIeS? FoR tHe FoLly Of ThEiR wAyS?" The Dark Echo says

"I was hasty in my judgement for the humans, but I am willing to forgive my actions against them, and accept that there are some humans who are good!" Mewtwo says

The Dark Echo narrowed its fiery eyes.

"Pity... I gIvE yOu PuRpOsE aNd YoU cAsT iT aSiDe. FoR oNe ThAt Is MeAnInGlEsS. VeRy WeLl. ThEN, aS a LiViNg BeInG, yOu CaN sHaRe In ThE fAtE oF hUmAnItY! HuMaNs AnD PoKéMoN sHaLl DiE tOgEtHeR!" The Dark Echo says

With a thrust of it's hand, the Dark Echo hurls Mew and Mewtwo down toward the stadium with a powerful telekinetic blast, sending them crashing into the ground with incredible force just a few feet infront of Devon, Ash, and Pikachu.

"Mew! Mewtwo!" Devon exclaims

The Keyblade Wielder, Pokémon Trainer, and yellow mouse run over to the two downed legendary Pokémon, worried for their safety. Devon comes over to Mewtwo's left-side and kneels down to him, placing his right-hand on his shoulder while Ash and Pikachu come over to Mew.

"Pika Pi?" Pikachu asks in concern

Mew forces itself up and looks at Pikachu on it's right, saying that it was okay.

"Mew..." Mew squeals

Ash looks down at Mew, then looks over at Devon as he knelt next to Mewtwo, relieved to see that he was alright as well. Then, he grunts with anger and glances back up at the Dark Echo. Everyone follows Ash's gaze as the evil specter hovers down to the stadium.

"LiFe Is FrAgilE. In ThE eNd, OnLy DeAtH rEmAiNs. AnD sInCe YoU hAvE gIvEn YoUrSeLvEs So WiLlInGlY, aLlOw Me To FiNiSh WhAt HaS bEeN sTaRtEd." The Dark Echo says

The Dark Echo crosses it's arms and it charges up with dark energy. The heavenly light that shined down on the stadium immediately faded away as darkness fell back over New Island. Streams of black shadows swirl around New Island with strong gusts of wind and dark blue lightning flashed in the skies around it. Soon, the the shadowy wraith spreads it's arms out, causing lightning bolts to spark out of it's body and flash around it in columns of dark electricity. Devon, his friends, and the Pokémon take cover and shield themselves from the lightning bolts with some missing them by inches. Then, the ground starts to crack and the entire island rumbles violently. Both humans and Pokémon stumble around as the ground beneath them shakes. Destruction tears through New Island as the palace and the stadium are ripped apart by the Dark Echo's evil power. A lightning bolt strikes the tallest spire, causing it to break off from the palace and fall on it's side, collapsing onto the island. Another lightning bolt strikes another spire, outright blasting it to pieces. And some of the other spires are ripped off from the palace and blown away in the wind. A few of the large failed lights in the stadium are broken off from their stands and sent flying in the wind. One of them flies into the side of the palace, destroying a good chunk of the building. Another stadium light falls backwards and onto the ground, destroying the stands in the process. The group and all the Pokémon hurry to the center of the stadium and escape the collapsing walls as they came crashing down. Team Rocket run away from the palace in panic as it was being destroyed left and right, and they manage to join the group and make it to safety just as the entire building collapsed behind them.

Once the chaos had ceased, everyone looks around at the destruction that surrounded them, staring in shock and awe. The palace and the stadium were now nothing but ruins with broken walls, rocks, and debris everywhere. They were extremely lucky that nobody had been killed. Then, both humans and Pokémon look upward and stare in horror as a gigantic black sphere looms high above them like a large moon, emitting an incredible black-red aura of darkness and an eerie luminescent glow, crackling with dark energy which moves along it's round surface. Red flashes appear briefly within the massive sphere and red lightning streaks out from it, illuminating the blackened skies. Fragments of the stadium and some of the broken spires of the palace float around in the sky above New Island.

Team Rocket and Meowthtwo emerge from the rocks and debris with Arbok and Wheezing shielding their masters, and they gaze around in shock at the destroyed island.

"What happened?" James asks

Meowthtwo glares up at the Dark Echo and it gets down on all fours, growling and hissing.

"Meowth!" Meowthtwo growls

Jessie, James, Meowth, Arbok, and Wheezing glance over at the clone Pokémon on their left and follow it's gaze to the shadowy wraith. Upon seeing the Dark Echo, the Team Rocket Trio shared frightened expressions as they whimpered and gazed up in fear.

"What the heck is that thing?!" Jessie asks in a scared voice

"I don't know, but I'm not liking this one bit." Meowth says also scared

Everyone directs their attention to the evil being as it gazes down at them from several feet above, hovering in the air.

"I kNoW yOuR dReAmS... YoUr FeArS... YoUr HeArT's DeSiReS..." The Dark Echo says

The shadowy wraith looks down at Ash, beginning with him first as it spoke about what it knew about him.

"AsH KeTcHuM oF PaLlEt ToWn. BoRn Of DeLiA KeTcHuM. NeVeR kNoWiNg ThY fAtHeR. AsPiRiNg To BeCoMe A PoKéMoN MaStEr LiKe HiM. A fOoLiSh DrEaM fOr SuCh A nAïvE ChilD tHaT sHaLl NeVeR bE fUlFiLlED." The Dark Echo says

Next, the Dark Echo glances over at Nurse Joy and the group of Pokémon Trainers on it's left, staring at each of them with it's glowing red eyes. It's gaze was set on Misty, who gasped and whimpered at the ghostly specter as it spoke of her.

"MiStY, GyM LeAdEr Of CeRuLeAn CiTy. OnE oF fOuR sIbLiNg SiStErS. TrAiNeR oF WaTeR-tYPe PoKéMoN, yEt FeArFuL oF BuG-tYpE PoKéMoN." The Dark Echo says

Shifting it's gaze, the shadowy wraith looks over at Brock next.

"BrOcK, GyM LeAdEr Of PeWtEr CiTy. SoN oF FlinT aNd LoLa. OnE oF tEn SiBlInGs In ThY fAmIlY. A TrUlY pItIfUl SoUl DeSpErAtE fOr LoVe, DoOmEd To ReCiEvE nOnE." The Dark Echo says

Then, the Dark Echo turns it's sinister gaze to Corey, Neesha, and Fergus, who were just as frightened by the menacing entity.

"CoReY... NeEsHa... FeRgUs... ThReE PoKéMoN TrAiNeRs. ThReE pAtHs InTeRsEcT. EaCh EqUaLlY dEtErMiNeD. EaCh CoNfIdEnT wItH hIgH bRaVaDo. AnD yEt So VeRy EaSiLy MaNiPuLaTeD." The Dark Echo says

Turning back to the center of the stadium, the shadowy wraith gazes down at Mewtwo as he was down on his right-knee.

"AnD tHeN tHeRe'S yOu, MeWtWo, a CrEaTuRe GiVeN bIrTh To A wOrLd It DoEs NoT, cAnNoT uNdErStAnD. So DeSpErAtE fOr PuRpOsE... FoR gUiDaNcE... HoW eAsIlY a HeArT cAn Be SwAyEd To DaRkNeSs. LiKe An InFaNt ChilD tAkInG iT's FiRsT sTePs ToWaRd ThE wRoNg PaTh. FoR yOu, It WaS aLl ToO eAsY." The Dark Echo says

Finally, the Dark Echo sets it's sights on Devon, who was in the middle of everyone.

"FiNaLlY, tHeRe Is YoU. ThE pRoDiGaL sOn Of DeStInY... DaRkNeSs AnD LiGhT wAgE a CoNsTaNt WaR wItHiN yOuR sOuL. ThE sCaLe Of BaLaNcE iS tIpPeD oNe WaY, bUt So EaSiLy CaN iT Be ShIfTeD tO tIlT tHe OtHeR." The Dark Echo says

"If you think you can change me like you almost did Mewtwo, you're wasting your breath! I will never turn to darkness! I am not an evil monster like you! You only seek to strengthen yourself! Absorbing essence, feeding off the darkness, the hatred of others! You used Mewtwo to bring about darkness and chaos! And I won't let you destroy the lives of humans and Pokémon, or the beautiful world they live in." Devon says

"As ShReWd As I'vE bEeN lEd To BeLiEvE. So CoNfIdEnT... So ReSoLuTe... BuT yOu FoRgEt... ThE sTrOnGeR tHe SuN, ThE gReAtEr ThE sHaDoW. ThE lIgHt WiThIn YoUr HeArT sHiNeS bRiGhTlY." The Dark Echo says

The shadowy wraith points it's right-finger down at the Keyblade Wielder.

"StRaY oNlY tHe SligHtEsT, aNd ThE dArKnEsS wIlL cOnSuMe YoU. AnD wHeN iT dOeS, No LiGhT oR mIrAcLe CaN hOpE tO sAvE yOu." The Dark Echo says

"I'm not afraid of the darkness." Devon says

Gripping his right-hand into a fist, Devon summons his Keyblade: Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light and points it at the evil being.

"And I'm not afraid of you." Devon says

"HoW dO yOu PrOpOsE tO cHaLlEnGe Me? YoUr PrEcIoUs PoKéMoN aRe WeAk. YoU aRe WeAk. EvEn NoW, yOu StAnD aLoNe. OnE gLiMmEr Of LiGhT aGaInSt ThE iNfInItE dArKnEsS. YoU cAnNoT sUcCeEd. OnLy DiE aLoNe." The Dark Echo says

Devon grunts angrily and narrows his eyes as he stares at the Dark Echo with a serious expression, and he readied himself for a fight against the shadowy wraith. But before either side could do anything, Pikachu jumps up and perches himself onto Devon's right-shoulder, glaring up at the Dark Echo with a battle-determined look on his face, and his cheeks sparking with electricity.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu growls

"Huh? Pikachu?" Devon says

Devon heard footsteps on his left and he glances over to see Ash walking up to his side with a determined expression. The Pokémon Trainer nods his head to the Keyblade Wielder, then glances up at the Dark Echo.

"Devon's not alone! Me and my Pokémon, we're with him all the way!" Ash says

Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charizard step forward and joins their Trainer followed by their clones, ready to fight.

"Squirtle!" Squirtle says

"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur says

Charizard and Charizardtwo both let out a mighty roar. Pikachutwo runs up to Devon's right-side and stands alongside him on all fours with its cheeks sparking with electricity.

"Pikachu!" Pikachutwo says

Misty and Brock run up to Devon and they stand by him as he and Ash glance back at them. Both of them had equally determined expressions.

"We're with you too, Devon!" Misty says

"That's right!" Brock says

Vulpix and it's clone run up to Brock's side and make their stand.

"Vul!" Both Vulpix roar in unison

Then, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus run up and joins the rest of the heroes, sharing similar battle-ready expressions.

"Count us in, too!" Neesha says

"Yeah!" Corey and Fergus say in unison

Bruteroot and Shellshocker step forward with their clones and they let out a roar with their voices, making their stand alongside their Trainers.

"Saur!" Bruteroot roars

"Venusaur!" Venusaurtwo roars

"Blastoise!" Shellshocker roars

"Blast!" Blastoisetwo roars

Gyarados and it's clone both slither up and let out a mighty roar. The rest of Pokémon step forward and make their stand as well, each sharing battle-determined expressions and growling and roaring with their voices. Having put aside their differences, both original and clone Pokémon now stood together united by a common goal: Survival.

Mew flies up to Devon's left as he looks over and the small Pokémon nods it's head to him. Then, Mewtwo floats over to Devon's right, causing the Keyblade Wielder to look at him. The Genetic Pokémon calmly nods his head, agreeing to fight alongside him. Seeing now that Mewtwo was on their side, the young teen smiles and nods his head, then turns back to face the Dark Echo. Mewtwo spreads his hands out and both he and Mew emit a light blue energy field from their bodies, sending out sparkling lights and healing waves to all the Pokémon, healing their injuries, restoring them to full health, and fixing the damage done in the fighting earlier. Devon and Ash look back at the Pokémon and they were glad to see them all back to their full strength. Then, they turn back to face the Dark Echo, confident in their chances of fighting back.

"It would seem that despite your best efforts to tear this world apart, all that you have done is brought humans and Pokémon closer together! You're not just fighting me anymore. Now, your fight is with all of us!" Devon says spreading his arms out in gesture to the army of Pokémon behind him

"FoOlS!" The Dark Echo says

The shadowy wraith spreads it's hands out and dark flames envelopes them. Then, it's eyes glow red and darkness swirls around it's spectral body.

"YoU wIlL aLl LeArN tHe TrUe DePtHs Of My PoWeR!" The Dark Echo says in a deep, demonic voice

The Dark Echo hovers higher into the air and transforms into a massive demonic being, towering several feet high above the group of humans and Pokémon. It's name: Soul Devourer. This was one of the Dark Echo's many forms, a gargantuan creature of pure darkness with eight black-red tendrils of darkness extending from it's back, a ghostly skeletal body with multiple ribs and vertebrae and a shadowy black hole of sorts swirling around inside, two black-red orbs of darkness on it's shoulders, large, spectral sleeves covering it's arms, three-fingered claws, a glowing black-red mouth full of razor sharp teeth, three horns on it's head, and a black hole inside it's chest continuously draws in energy, projecting a strange, warped lighting around it. The gigantic, demonic entity clenches its clawed hands into fists and raises its head up high, letting out a loud, deafening roar for all to hear, while a great bolt of dark blue lightning strikes behind it, illuminating its evil form, then gazes down at the heroic group of humans and Pokémon down on the ground.

"HuMaNiTy... PoKéMoN... AlL sOuLs ArE mInE! ThOsE fOoLiSh To StAnD aGaInSt Me... ThE eTeRnAl AbYSs AwAiTs!" The Soul Devourer bellows

"Here we go, everyone! Give it everything you got!" Devon says

"You betcha!" Ash says

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu says

And with that, both humans and Pokémon stood together as their epic battle against the Soul Devourer began. Ash climbs up onto Charizard's back and takes to the sky while Misty and Brock remained on the ground. Corey jumps onto Pidgeot's back and follows him into the air. Neesha mounts her Rapidash and stands by her Pokémon while Fergus climbs up onto Gyarados' back and stands by his Pokémon.

The Soul Devourer sends forth a wave of darkness from the black hole in it's chest straight at the heroic force. With Pikachu holding onto his right-shoulder, Devon leaps up with Soul Calibur, glowing brightly with it's benevolent light, raised over his left-shoulder and slices through the black wave, splitting it vertically in half. Landing on a floating rock platform, Devon aims Soul Calibur at the Soul Devourer and pure energy charges up into a sphere from the tip of his Keyblade for five seconds. Once fully charged, he fires a salvo of fifteen light projectiles which homes in on the shadowy giant. The Soul Devourer shields itself with it's spectral cloak as each shot bombards it with a series of small, yet effective explosions. Setting it's gaze on Devon and Pikachu, the shadowy being summons multiple flaming meteors and sends them down at the two heroes. Devon quickly runs and jumps to the right onto another floating rock with Pikachu, dodging the meteors as they crash down on platform, destroying it. The Soul Devourer summons more meteors at the young teen and electric mouse, but they jump away onto five more rock platforms, dodging each of the meteors.

After evading the last meteor, Devon lands crouched down on a rock platform with Pikachu still on his shoulder. Rising up on his feet, both he and the electric mouse Pokémon turn to their left and face the Soul Devourer as it turns to face them. But before either side could do anything, a stream of flames hits the Soul Devourer in the head, causing it to roar in pain. The attack came from Charizard with Ash riding his back. Flying alongside them on their right was Charizardtwo, and Corey riding his Pidgeot.

"Alright, Ash!" Devon exclaims happily

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu exclaims happily

With a determined expression, Ash commands Charizard to attack again.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Ash commands

"Pidgeot, Air Slash!" Corey commands

Charizard lets out a mighty roar and breathes a stream of flames at the Soul Devourer while Charizardtwo also uses it's Flamethrower, offering it's support to them. The two Pidgeot flap their wings and launch light blue glowing saw disc blades of energy. Their attacks strike the shadowy wraith in it's chest as it grunts with it's demonic voice. Glaring up at the two Trainers and their Pokémon, the Soul Devourer shoots multiple red lasers from the three horns on it's head.

"Whoa!" Ash exclaims

Charizard, Pidgeot, and their clones immediately fly away and evade the lasers being fired in their direction. Some of them miss Ash by inches as he grabbed his hat and ducked down on Charizard's back.

Before the evil being could focus on them anymore, a light blue ball of energy strikes the giant shadowy wraith in the head, causing it to screech in pain. Devon and Pikachu look over at their left while the Soul Devourer shifts it's gaze to the right. The attack came from Mewtwo, who had used his Aura Sphere, with Mew hovering alongside him on his left. Mewtwo put his hands together and forms an Aura Sphere, then hurls it at the Soul Devourer. Mew also uses Aura Sphere, forming a light blue ball of pure energy infront of it, and hurls it at the Soul Devourer. Both attacks strike the head of the gigantic being with explosive impact. In retaliation, the shadowy wraith pulls it's right-hand back and fires a large red laser beam from it's palm. The two legendary Pokémon quickly fly down and evade the beam as it shoots up into the black sky with a red flash illuminating the dark clouds soon afterwards, probably from an explosion.

With his Keyblade glowing brightly in his right-hand, Devon holds Soul Calibur horizontally infront of him and swings it with a right slash, launching four blue fireballs at the Soul Devourer. Each of the fiery projectiles strike the evil entity's body with medium-sized explosions, drawing it's attention back to him. The Soul Devourer reaches out for Devon and Pikachu with it's left-hand and slams it down on the rocky platform in an attempt to crush them, but the Keyblade Wielder and electric mouse jump away and evade the large hand as it comes down. Devon rushes forward with a sliding dash and strikes the bony hand with a right slash. He follows up his assault with a left uppercut slash, a downward slash, a reverse roundhouse slash, an uppercut slash, another downward slash, and finishes with a strong thrust, stabbing into the bony hand. The crystal Keyblade emits a bright light and unleashes an explosion of light that sends Devon sliding back across the platform while the Soul Devourer recoils it's hand and roars in pain. Pikachu helps out by leaping into the air and using it's Thunderbolt.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu says

Pikachu sends forth a strong Thunderbolt, landing a hit to the shadowy giant's face, causing it to screech in pain. The Soul Devourer glares at Devon and Pikachu with a murderous gaze and it shoots red lasers from it's eyes. Pikachu jumps back onto Devon's right-shoulder and he quickly turns and jumps off the platform just as the lasers shoot down and blast it to pieces. They land on another platform, but the Soul Devourer continues it's attack, shooting more lasers at them. The Keyblade Wielder jumps from rock to rock, three in total, dodging the lasers as they trail behind him. But just as Devon makes the third jump, he and Pikachu are caught in the grip of the Soul Devourer as it grabs them with it's right-hand. The evil entity brings the two heroes closer to it's face, staring at them with it's flaming eyes for a moment, then throws them down toward the ground.

"Pika!" Pikachu screams

Devon quickly grabs hold of Pikachu as they fall towards the ground. Ash, Charizard, Corey, Pidgeot, and those on the ground watched in horror as the Keyblade Wielder and yellow mouse drew closer to the ground by the second.

"Devon! Pikachu!" Ash exclaims

Devon looked ahead to see the ground rapidly approaching. Shutting his eyes tight, he and Pikachu braced themselves for a rough landing. But just as they were about to crash, they were stopped only a few feet above the ground with their bodies glowing with a blue outline. Devon and Pikachu opened their eyes and they saw that it was Mewtwo who saved them as he had his hands stretched out to them. Their vision was upside-down, but Mewtwo sets them upright and gently lowers them onto the ground. Devon kneels down and lets go of Pikachu, then rises back on his feet, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Oh, man. Nice catch, Mewtwo. Thanks." Devon says

Mewtwo smiles and nods his head to the Keyblade Wielder. Charizard and Pidgeot touch down and Ash and Corey climb off, running over to Devon and Pikachu.

"Devon! Pikachu! Are you alright?" Ash asks in concern

"Yeah. We're okay." Devon says

The heroes quickly turn back to the Soul Devourer and focus back on the battle at hand. Devon, Ash, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus grunt with determination while the Pokémon growl with their voices. After a brief intense stare down, Ash commands his Pokémon to attack.

"Pikachu, both of you use Thunderbolt!" Ash commands

"Pika!" Pikachu and Pikachutwo say in unison nodding their heads

Pikachu and his clone face the Soul Devourer and with their cheeks sparking with electricity, they used their electric attacks together.

"Pikachu!" The two Pikachu say in unison

The combined electricity strikes the Soul Devourer directly in the chest, causing it to stagger back and grunt in pain. As the two Pikachu continued their attack, Ash looks over at Bulbasaur, giving it a command next.

"Bulbasaur, use Solar Beam!" Ash commands

"Bulba!" Bulbasaur says in acknowledgement

Bulbasaur gathers light inside it's bulb, then shoots a bright blue beam at the Soul Devourer. Bulbasaurtwo helps out with it's Razor Leaf, launches multiple razor sharp leaves from the bulb on its back. Then, Ash commands Squirtle to attack.

"Squirtle, use Bubble Beam!" Ash commands

"Squirtle!" Squirtle says in acknowledgement

Squirtle shoots multiple clear bubbles from it's mouth at the Soul Devourer, landing multiple hits as each bubble pops in bursts of light. Squirtletwo assists it's original with a Water Gun, shooting a forceful shot of water from it's mouth. Charizard and Charizardtwo shared determined glances with each other, then they both turn to the Soul Devourer and use their Flamethrowers, adding on to the attack. Brock steps in and commands his Vulpix to attack.

"Vulpix, use Fire Spin!" Brock commands

Vulpix nods it's head and turns to the shadowy wraith and uses it's move.

"Vul-pix!" Vulpix and it's clone roar in unison

Both Fox Pokémon shoot a swirling stream of fire at the Soul Devourer from their mouths, landing a hit to it's body.

"Gyarados, Hyper Beam!" Fergus commands

Gyarados and it's clone both charge up their attacks and unleash it through a powerful beam, shooting it at the Soul Devourer.

"Bruteroot, Energy Ball!" Corey commands

"Venu-saur!" Bruteroot and Venusaurtwo roar in unison

Bruteroot charges up a ball of greenish-blue energy in it's mouth and launches it at the Soul Devourer while Venusaurtwo assists him with it's Leaf Storm, summoning a cyclone of wind and glowing light green leaves and sending it at the shadowy wraith.

"Shellshocker, Hydro Pump!" Neesha commands

Both Shellshocker and Blastoisetwo use Hydro Pump, shooting powerful jets of water from their shell cannons at the Soul Devourer.

As for the other Pokémon, they help out with their own attacks. The Nidoqueen use Hyper Beam, firing beams of destructive energy from their mouths. The Vaporeon use Ice Beam, shooting light blue bolts of icy cold energy from their mouths. The Seadra use Dragon Pulse, firing a multicolored dragon-shaped beam from their mouths. The Tentacruel use Water Pulse, forming a ball of water infront of them and hurling it at the Soul Devourer. The Rapidash uses Fire Blast, shooting flames from it's horn which takes the shape of the kanji '大'. The Ninetales use Flamethrower, releasing a red-orange stream of fire from it's mouth. The Vileplume use Petal Dance, stretching the opening on it's flower and releasing pink petals in a spiraling fashion. The Dewgong use Aurora Beam, shooting rainbow colored beams from their horns. The Pidgeot use Air Slash, flapping their wings and firing more glowing saw disc blades. The Scyther use X-Scissor, launching purple 'X'-shaped projectiles through their scythes. The Rhyhorn use Rock Blast, shooting silver rocks from their glowing horns. And the Golduck, Wigglytuff, Sandslash, and Hitmonlee use Swift, summoning multiple yellow stars and firing them at the shadowy wraith.

Together, all of the Pokémon's attacks strike the Soul Devourer numerous times with multiple explosions, kicking up an enormous cloud of smoke.

"Yes! We did it!" Ash cheers

However, the victory was short-lived when the glowing red eyes of the Soul Devourer pierces through the smoke as it clears, revealing the shadowy wraith unharmed whatsoever by all the attacks it had received. Then, the Soul Devourer laughs at the pitiful attempt of the heroes as it's deep, demonic voice echoed in the air.

"He He He He He... HaH hAh HaH hAh HaH hAh HaH hAh!" The Soul Devourer laughs

Both humans and Pokémon gaze up at the shadowy wraith in shock. All their attacks, save for Devon's, had no effect whatsoever on the evil entity.

"FoOlIsH cReAtUrEs! I cAnNoT bE dEfEaTeD! I... aM... iMmOrTaL!" The Soul Devourer bellows

The Soul Devourer crosses it's arms and begins charging up with dark energy as a black-red aura envelopes it's gargantuan, shadowy form and a sphere of darkness appears in the center of it's chest. Mewtwo flies up infront of the heroes and stretches his hands out with his body glowing with a blue aura of psychic energy. Mew flies up to his left and stretches it's paws out, emitting it's pink psychic aura. Using their psychic powers, they create a large barrier of white light as everyone braced themselves for the worst. Within moments, the Soul Devourer's eyes shine red and it spreads it's arms out and thrusts it's body outward, unleashing a powerful shockwave of darkness from it's spectral body that pierces through the defensive barrier, and a strong gust of wind that blows everyone away.

Once the dust settles, both humans and Pokémon were down and dazed by the attack. Devon was lying on his back while Ash was down flat on his stomach on his left with Pikachu and his Pokémon next to him. Behind them were Mewtwo, who was down on his right-knee, and Mew, who forced itself up. Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, and their Pokémon were slowly rising up and from recovering from the intense shockwave. But before they could recover completely, the Soul Devourer's flaming eyes shine brightly and a black-red aura of darkness appears on Devon, Mewtwo, Mew, Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, and all their Pokémon, filling them with agonizing pain as they grunted and groaned. All of them were then lifted up high into the air and held suspended in a gathered cluster infront of the Soul Devourer.

"YoU hAvE aLl ChOsEn YoUr FaTe, NoW yOu WiLl AlL pAy ThE pRiCe. I wIlL tEaR yOuR sOuLs ApArT!" The Soul Devourer says

Devon looks over at Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Brock, Mewtwo, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charizard, Vulpix, Pikachutwo, Bulbasaurtwo, Squirtletwo, Charizardtwo, and Vulpixtwo on his right, then looks over at Mew, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, and all their Pokémon on his right. Each of them shared the same hurt expressions as the pain burned through their bodies. Fighting his own pain, Devon grunts angrily and glares at the Soul Devourer.

"No!" Devon shouts

Devon crosses his arms across his body for a moment, then flexes back with his chest pushed upward and his arms bent as a bright, blinding light engulfs him, capturing everyone's attention. The light was so incredibly bright that it could be seen for dozens of miles around across the sea. The shadowy being staggers back and roars in pain from the blinding light, releasing it's grip on Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus and their Pokémon as they all fall towards the ground. Everyone braced themselves for the crash, but then they were all caught by a telekinetic force, stopping only a few feet above the ground. Everyone touches down gently onto the island, wondering who had saved them. They all thought it was Mewtwo as Ash glanced over at him, but he looked just as confused as they were. Then, everyone looks ahead as Devon floats down to them with his hands spread out. He was the one who had saved everyone from the dangerous fall.

The Keyblade Wielder had achieved a new Formchange. It's name: Super Form. Devon floated in the air with his feet barely touching the ground. His body was enveloped in a fiery, flame-like golden aura with sparkles of light floating around him. Blue electricity sparks around his body. And his eyes glowed with a bright blue light.

Everyone stared in awe and wonder at Devon's new form.

"Devon?" Ash says

"Pika..." Pikachu gasps in awe

The Keyblade Wielder glances back at all his friends with a serious, aggressive, yet calm look on his face and nods his head at them. Then, he turns back and faces the Soul Devourer as the shadowy wraith gazes down at him.

"Leave my friends alone! I'm the one you want! Let's go! Just you and me!" Devon yells

Making the first move, Devon pulls his hands back, summoning two large blue fireballs at his sides, then thrusts them forward, launching a powerful, two-streamed blast, which spirals toward the Soul Devourer and strikes it's chest with explosive impact. Growling in anger, the Soul Devourer thrusts it's right-hand out in retaliation, launching a volley of twenty dark blasts at Devon, who just floated calmly still. Just as they were about to hit their target, Devon stretches out his left-hand and deflects the dark blasts with his telekinetic powers, sending them away in every direction as they strike the ground, the ruins of the stadium, and even fly off into the sky.

Summoning Soul Calibur in his right-hand, Devon flies up toward the Soul Devourer, flying faster than the speed of light, and goes on the offensive. He strikes with two wide, arching sweeps of his Keyblade, swinging Soul Calibur left and right, a flying backflip slash, a thrusting strike, three left-upward spinning slashes, and a spiraling slash that hits six times. The Soul Devourer pulls back it's right-hand and takes a swipe at the young teen, leaving a trail of red slash marks in it's wake. Devon quickly flies down as the bony claws swoop overhead, soars upwards, and dives back down on the large hand with Soul Calibur held in both hands over his head to deliver an overhead slash, striking with incredible strength and power. The shadowy wraith lets out a loud, pained roar and recoils it's hand.

The Soul Devourer glares at Devon with a murderous gaze, growling deeply and demonically with anger and hatred. Using it's telekinesis, the evil entity grabs hold of three of the broken spires of the palace and hurls them at the Keyblade Wielder. Devon flies up in dodging the first spire, then slices through the second spire with a downward slash, splitting it in half. For the third spire, he stretches his left-hand forward, halting it with his telekinetic powers, and grips his hand into a fist, shattering it into rocky pieces. And with a thrust of his hand, he hurled those pieces at the Soul Devourer, landing numerous hits as each of the rocks smash into the evil entity.

Holding his Soul Calibur with both hands, Devon swings his Keyblade left and right, launching crescent blades of light at the Soul Devourer, who grunts as each blade cuts through it's shadowy body, inflicting tons of damage. The Soul Devourer growls and spreads out it's arms and it's spectral cloak, summoning black ethereal chains from shadowy portals, which appears around it, and sends them straight at Devon. The chains slither through the air like snakes, but the young teen cuts down each of the chains with just a swipe of his Keyblade. Once he closes distance with the shadowy wraith, Devon strikes with a wide-sweeping left slash, a downward slash, a wide-sweeping right slash, another downward slash, a spinning slash, which hits six times, and a strong overhead strike. The Soul Devourer swipes it's right-hand at Devon, but he teleports away in a flash of light, while it roars out in anger.

On the ground, Ash, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, Nurse Joy, and Team Rocket watched in amazement as Devon dealt out punishment to the evil wraith. Even Mewtwo, Mew, and all the Pokémon were astounded by Devon's bravery and courage.

"Man, he's really duking it out." Meowth says

"Wow! Look at Devon go!" Neesha says

"Yeah! He's showing that thing who's boss!" Fergus says

"He's really giving it his all up there." Corey says

"Devon really is amazing." Misty says

"I heard that Keyblade Wielders were incredibly powerful, but I had no idea." Brock says

Ash watched as Devon fought hard against the Soul Devourer, staring in awe at his fighting skills and abilities, deeply inspired by his valor and righteousness. Knowing that the Keyblade Wielder was fighting for the good and protection of people and Pokémon everywhere, he felt the urge to cheer his best friend on.

"Come on, Devon! You can do it!" Ash cheers

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheers

"Bulba Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur cheers

"Squirtle Squirt!" Squirtle cheers

The Soul Devourer extends the tendrils on it's back and sends forward at Devon. The young teen flies through the air and evades the tentacles, shifting left and right as they lunge at him. Then, he smashes into the gigantic being with powerful force, causing it to stagger backwards. Devon attacks the Soul Devourer's body with his Keyblade, swinging Soul Calibur with a downward and upward slash, a left spinning slash that hits three times, a somersault slash which also hits three times, a right-uppercut slash, a roundhouse slash, and an overhead slash that summons a pillar of light upon striking, knocking the gigantic being back slightly. Roaring in anger, the Soul Devourer swings it's right-arm at Devon, only to miss as he flies back several feet away.

Devon holds Soul Calibur vertically up to his face and closes his eyes in concentration for a moment. When opens his eyes, ten white spear-shaped bolts of light appear around Devon in white flashes. The Keyblade Wielder pulls his left-hand back and thrusts it forward, launching the energy bolts at the Soul Devourer. Each of the bolts pierce through the darkness surrounding the shadowy wraith, causing it to shriek in pain. Continuing his assault, Devon flies towards the Soul Devourer and charges into it with a thrusting strike. He warps around the shadowy being, hitting it with ten more charging strikes before finishing off with a downward strike from above. The Soul Devourer looks down at Devon with it's eyes shining red and it shoots red lasers at him, but the young teen teleports away and reappears several feet across from it.

The Soul Devourer crosses it's spectral arms across it's body, and exerts dark red energy around it as it charges of for it's next attack while Devon braced himself. Within moments, the shadowy wraith lets out a loud, bellowing, demonic roar and thrusts it's arms out, unleashing tendrils of darkness from it's body, sending them in every direction. Devon flies down in dodging the few dark tendrils that came his way, then zips left and right from one side to the other, evading more of them as he closes in on the Soul Devourer and commences his attack.

Engulfing his crystal Keyblade in red-orange flames, Devon hurls Soul Calibur twice like chakrams at the Soul Devourer, then throws six flaming Keyblades around him like a barrier. Next, he imbues Soul Calibur with water and strikes with a thrusting strike that shoots forth a strong jet of water, two wide-sweeping slashes left and right that create waves of water, and a backflip slash, which sends forth four columns of water. Then, Devon imbues his crystal Keyblade with yellow electricity and strikes with a wide right slash, a left spiraling slash that hits three times, and three thrusting strikes. Finally, Devon imbues Soul Calibur with light and attacks with a left-downward slash, a right and left kick, three backflip slashes, another left-downward slash, a right slash, two left and right uppercut slashes, a lunging kick enveloped with light, two backflip slashes, and a strong overhead slash that leaves a trail of light, dishing out tremendous damage to the evil entity.

The Soul Devourer takes both it's hands and closes them in on Devon in an attempt to crush him. Reacting quickly, the Keyblade Wielder spreads his arms out and encases himself in a spherical barrier of light, stopping the large hands as they crash into the sides of the barrier. The struggle went on for a good ten seconds as the young teen and shadowy wraith glared at each other in an intense stare down. Eventually, Devon emits a bright light and the barrier explodes in a blinding flash of light, knocking the Soul Devourer back and forcing it to shield it's damaged eyes with it's spectral cloak.

With the Soul Devourer stunned, Devon seized his chance to end the fight. He flies through the air with fast speed, putting distance between him and the gigantic shadowy entity. Circling around, Devon heads straight for the Soul Devourer with his body shrouded in a corona of golden light. By the time the shadowy wraith recovers, it was too late. Devon strikes through it's body with devastating impact, creating a large explosion of light. The epic battle was now over. The Soul Devourer freezes up as it felt the powerful blow. Devon flies out through the Soul Devourer's back and circles around to his friends as he touches down infront of them.

The gigantic shadowy wraith wails in agony from the light-based attack with it's demonic cries echoing far out into the storm and across the sea. The Soul Devourer collapses onto New Island with it's large bony hands slamming onto the ground, Glancing up and glaring angrily at Devon, the shadowy wraith reaches out to grab him with it's right-hand. But before it could grab him, the pain from the light-based attack overwhelms it as the black hole in it's chest start to shine brightly with light, causing to recoil and clutch it's body. Soon, the Soul Devourer spreads it's arms and pushes it's body outward, letting out a loud roar of agony as a beam of light shoots out from it's chest, striking the gigantic black sphere that hovered in the eye of the storm.

"NoOoOoOoOoO!" The Soul Devourer roars in agony

The shadowy wraith is vaporized by the light while bright blue cracks appeared on the massive dark orb, spreading throughout it's entire surface until finally it explodes with a loud, deafening boom and a blinding flash of light, which forced Devon, Ash, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, Nurse Joy, Team Rocket, Mewtwo, Mew, and all the Pokémon to shield their eyes and look away.

With the defeat of the Soul Devourer, or the Dark Echo, it's spectral light diminishes and the darkness lifts from the Pokémon World. The dark clouds separate and dissipate as sunlight beams down on New Island. Everyone looks up at the sky as it clears up, then they look over at Devon as he returns to his normal state with the golden aura leaving his body and the glow in his eyes fading away. Soul Calibur disappears from Devon's right-hand as he pants heavily for breath. Soon, he falls backwards and collapses flat on his back, having exhausted himself through such an intense fight. Huge smiles formed on the faces of humans and Pokémon as they were overjoyed and very relieved that it was really finally over. Even Devon had a smile on his face as he rested his right-hand on his chest, still trying to catch his breath.

"I can't believe it." Nurse Joy says

"It's finally over." Misty says with relief

"Devon!" Ash exclaims happily

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaims happily

Ash and his friends run up to Devon he looks upside down at them and smiles, giving everyone a thumbs up with his left-hand. Ash and Brock grab Devon's arms and pull him onto his feet. Then, they turned to all of the Pokémon as cheered with their voices for their heroic savior.

"You did it, Devon! You defeated the Dark Echo!" Ash says

Devon shook his head.

"No. We all did it. Together." Devon says

Pikachu climbs up onto Devon's right-shoulder.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu says

Devon, Ash, Misty, Brock, Corey, Neesha, Fergus, and Nurse Joy all chuckle as they shared a laugh together. Then, they looked over at Mew, who flew up to Devon, and Mewtwo, who approached him.

"Do you understand now, Mewtwo? It doesn't matter how we are born, how strong we are, or what our differences may be. Each and every one of us have value. Humans and Pokémon. And I know you do, too." Devon says

Mewtwo nods his head.

"Yes. And I deeply apologize for my actions against all of you. I was too consumed by my hatred, I almost lost sight of what was more important and nearly lost my heart to that evil demon. I thank you, Devon, for helping to show me the truth. You truly are a protective guardian to humans and Pokémon. I... would be honored to have you as a friend." Mewtwo says

Devon walks up to Mewtwo and places his right-hand on his left-shoulder.

"I'd like that very much." Devon says

The Genetic Pokémon looks over at the Keyblade Wielder's hand, and he could feel the soothing warmth of his touch, giving him a sense of calm and comfort.

"So, what will you do now?" Devon asks

"Now, I shall shape my own future. And perhaps one day, I will find my own place in the world. But for now..." Mewtwo says

Mewtwo and Mew both emit a glow of light.

"The time has come for us to depart." Mewtwo says

Each of the clone Pokémon glow with the same light as they are lifted up into the sky. Mewtwo and Mew floated higher into the sky while Devon, his friends, and the original Pokémon watched them go.

"Mewtwo. Where will you go?" Ash asks

"Where my heart can learn what yours knows so well. What transpired here I will always remember. But perhaps for you these events are best forgotten." Mewtwo says

As Mewtwo, Mew, and the clone Pokémon fly off into the clear sky, the ground beneath Devon and his friends emit a bright light. and both humans and Pokémon found themselves being lifted off the ground. Soon, the light blinds their vision as everything turns white. Time was rewinding back to the beginning.

Author's Note: Still here! I apologize for the long wait. It has been very busy for me these past weeks and this was a tough chapter to do. Anyways, Mew and Mewtwo clash with their armies of original and clone Pokémon fight in an all out brawl until Ash sacrifices himself to stop the fighting. Out of all the sad moments in the Pokémon movies, this scene is at the top of the list. But thanks to the magic tears of the Pokémon, Ash is revived, much to the joy of everyone. Then, the moment is ruined by the Dark Echo, who's taking over! Devon and his friends fight the evil wraith in an epic battle to the finish. And... Devon discovers a new Formchange: Super Form! In the end, the Dark Echo is defeated and all is peaceful again. Now, Mewtwo, Mew and the clone Pokémon depart to find their place in the Pokémon World. But we'll see them again.
