(The Wizarding World)
The year is now 1993 in the Wizarding World and it was yet another dissatisfying summer for Harry Potter at the Dursleys' home. His 13th birthday had passed with no gifts or letters from his friends and he was given a lot of summer homework to study. The only improvement in his relationship with his aunt and uncle was the permission to let his pet snowy owl Hedwig out at night since they couldn't tolerate her screeching racket from being locked in her cage all the time like last year, but only if Harry promised not to use her to send letters to Ron or Hermione. Harry took the opportunity to start a week after his arrival home and studied magic every night, being careful to avoid trouble with the Dursleys. Fortunately, none of them had ever noticed.
One calm night, Harry hid underneath the covers of his bed, practicing his charm spells from one of his schoolbooks: Extreme Incantations, which in chapter 32 included diagrams that depicted the casting of one spell.
"Lumos Maxima." Harry whispers
With a flick of his wand, a white light shines brightly from the tip of Harry's wand, briefly illuminating the darkness of the room for about four seconds with a high-pitched whirring sound. Suddenly, Harry heard the sound of the toilet flushing outside his room and he lays down on his bed with his back towards the door, pretending he's asleep. Vernon opens the door to Harry's room and flips the light switch on his right. He looks around, but finds nothing out of the ordinary. And so, he turns off the lights and shuts the door.
As soon as Vernon closed the door, Harry hid back under his covers and continues practicing his spells with his wand. Already, the wizard boy had cast his charm spell seven times and each time it briefly produces a bright light.
"Lumos Maxima. Lumos Maxima. Lumos Maxima!" Harry chants
On his tenth attempt, Harry flicks his wand and his spell illuminates his whole room with a blinding white light, which could be seen for many miles. The spell lasted for a long 14 seconds until the light fades away. Harry heard his uncle's footsteps out in the hall and lies down in his bed as he did before. More hastily this time, Vernon checks in on Harry's room, opening the door and flicking the light switch, but again he finds nothing strange and he leaves the room while the wizard boy peeks over his left-shoulder.
One week later, it was a rainy day on August 6th, when a visitor came to Harry and the Dursleys with the doorbell ringing five times.
"Harry! Harry! Harry! Open the door." Petunia says
Harry, who was wearing a navy grey-blue plaid shirt and khaki pants at the time, unlocks the latch to the front door and opens it up for a woman and his uncle Vernon. The woman sputters from the rain and enters the house, handing her black umbrella to Harry. Her name: Marjorie Dursley.
Marjorie Dursley, or Marge as she was often called by her family, was 32 year-old woman and sister to her brother, Vernon Dursley. She had a deeply unpleasant personality, being arrogant, spiteful, ignorant, abusive, selfish, cruel and vicious, taking delight in making the lives of anyone she disliked miserable, which unfortunately in this case was Harry Potter. Overall, Marge was a powerfully dominant woman, even more horrible than Vernon. In terms of occupational career, Marge was a dog breeder, breeding bulldogs, of which she owned twelve.
She was large, beefy, purple-faced, had light skin, grey hair, and even had a moustache, though not as bushy as her brother's. For clothes, Marge wore a brown plaid jacket with a yellow dress underneath, a brown beaded necklace, and black heeled shoes.
Following Marge into the house was her favorite pet dog Ripper, a ferocious brown-white male bulldog, which she was particularly fond of. Both Marge and her dog move past Harry and go into the living room, where Petunia was setting up the dining table. She was wearing a pink long-sleeve sweater over her white shirt and a dark brown skirt.
"Marge, how lovely to see y-" Petunia greets
Ripper jumps up at Petunia, startling her. While Marge and her dog were busy making themselves comfortable in the living room, Harry takes out a school form and shows it to Vernon as he is taking off his grey jacket, leaving him with his grey and black long-sleeve sweater.
"Uncle Vernon... I need you to sign this form." Harry says
"What is it?" Vernon asks
"Nothing. School stuff." Harry says
"Later perhaps, if you behave." Vernon says
"I will if she does." Harry mutters
Vernon tosses his jacket onto the floor and he walks over to the living room with Harry following him, stopping only at the entrance. Marge looks at Harry with an unpleasant look on her face as she turns to him on her right.
"Oh... You're still here, are you?" Marge says
"Yes." Harry says in a low voice
"Don't say 'yes' in that ungrateful way. Damn good of my brother to keep you." Marge says
The bitter woman turns around and leans her body left to her brother.
"He'd've been straight to an orphanage if he'd been dumped on my doorstep, Vernon." Marge says
Marge soon turns to her nephew, Dudley, who was sitting on the nearby couch, watching TV. She was much more happy to see him than Harry.
"Is that my Dudders? Is that my little neffy-poo?" Marge says excitingly
Going over to her nephew, Marge seized him with a hug, wrapping her arms around his body, and gives him six loud kisses to his head. Petunia leads Ripper around the couch and Marge pats on the couch for her dog to climb up.
"Give us a kiss! Come on! Up, up, up! Oh, yes!" Marge says
As Ripper jumps up onto the couch and Marge was busy snogging Dudley, Vernon turns to Harry and tells him to take his sister's luggage.
"Take Marge's suitcase upstairs!" Vernon says gesturing his right-hand to the stairs
"Okay." Harry says
Obeying his uncle, the wizard boy turns and grabs Marge's suitcase to bring it upstairs. His summer just went from bad to worse.
Later that evening, the sky turned dark blue as the rain stopped and the Dursleys enjoyed themselves to dinner while Harry gathered the empty plates and cleaned them up. Whatever food she finished on her plate, Marge sets it down on the floor for her dog to lick.
"Mm, finish that off for Mommy. There's a good boy, Rippy-poo." Marge says
Dudley sat at the table, still watching TV, while Vernon walks around the table with a bottle of brandy in his right-hand.
"Can I tempt you, Marge?" Vernon asks
"Mm, just a small one. Excellent nosh, Petunia." Marge says
While Harry was gathering up the plates on the table, Marge calls out to him.
"Hey." Marge says
The thick woman snaps her left-fingers twice and points down to the plate on the floor on her left that Ripper was licking. Harry walks around the table, lowers down and grabs the plate, ignoring the growls of the bulldog.
"Eh, a bit more. Usually just a fry-up for me, what with 12 dogs." Marge says
Vernon reaches his sister and pours her a drink in her cup.
"A bit more. That's a boy. Mmm." Marge says
After pouring her glass, Vernon sits down on his side of the table next to his sister's right. Marge takes a sip of her drink, then offers some of it to her dog, lowering the glass cup and allowing him to lick the alcohol.
"Ah. You want to try you a little drop of brandy? A little drop of brandy-brandy-windy-wandy for Rippy-pippy-poo?" Marge says
Harry watched as the spoiled dog licked the brandy. Marge saw him staring and looks up at him with an unpleasant look on her face.
"What are you smirking at?" Marge asks
Harry said nothing and went back to cleaning the dishes in the kitchen.
"Where was it you sent the boy, Vernon?" Marge asks
"Saint Brutus'. Its a fine institution for hopeless cases." Vernon says
"Do they use a cane at Saint Brutus', boy?" Marge asks
The wizard boy stops what he's doing and stares at Marge with a flabbergasted expression, then looks over at Vernon, who gestures his head to him, telling him to go along with the false fib.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I've, I've been beaten loads of times. Mm." Harry says
"Excellent. I won't have this namby-pamby, wishy-washy nonsense about not hitting people who deserve it." Marge says
Harry turns his back to the Dursleys, still listening the conversation as Marge continues talking, patting Vernon's left-wrist with her right-hand.
"But you mustn't blame yourself about how this one turned out, Vernon. It's all to do with bad blood. Bad blood will out. What is it the boy's father did, Petunia?" Marge says
"Nothing. H-He didn't-he didn't work. He was-he was unemployed." Petunia says
"And a drunk, too, no doubt?" Marge says
"That's a lie!" Harry says
"What did you say?" Marge asks
Harry turns around and faces Marge with an angry look on his face.
"My dad wasn't a drunk!" Harry yells
Suddenly, the wine glass in Marge's right-hand explodes and shatters into pieces, causing everyone to gasp in surprise.
"Oh, don't worry. Don't fuss, Petunia. I have a very firm grip." Marge says
Vernon looks over at Harry, thinking he should probably head upstairs before he reveals his magic powers.
"I think it's time you went to bed." Vernon says
"Uh, quiet, Vernon." Marge says
The thick woman looks over at the wizard boy and snaps her finger.
"You... Clean it up." Marge says
Harry grabs a rag and walks over to the table, picking up the broken glass as the ugly conversation continues with more insults from Marge.
"Actually, it's nothing to do with the father. It's all to do with the mother. You see it with dogs all the time. If there's something wrong with the bitch, then there's something wrong with the pup." Marge says
Harry was outraged. Now Marge had really crossed the line. Not only did she insult his father, but now she was insulting his mother. He had never felt angrier in his life. Unable to take the rude, biased remarks about his parents anymore, he throws the rag in his hands to the floor and turns to Marge, yelling at her at top of his voice.
"Shut up! Shut up!" Harry shouts
The room fell silent as the Dursleys looked over at Harry, surprised by his outburst. The small lights in the kitchen began to flicker and the plates on the counter rattle. Marge turns to Harry and stares at him.
"Right. Let me tell you. Y-Y..." Marge says lifting her right-index finger
Marge stopped talking and looked at her finger, which suddenly started to bulge at the tip with a gurgling sound. Next, her face began to swell up, and then her clothes slowly started to rip and tear as her body inflated like a balloon. A button bursts from her jacket and hits the nearby cuckoo clock, striking it and causing the cuckoo bird to pop out. Marge gasps as more buttons burst from her jacket and her stomach bursting free from her waistband. As this was going on, she begs her brother to help her.
"Vernon! Vernon, do something!" Marge says
Vernon gets up from his seat and goes to help his sister. But before he could, Ripper bites him in his right-leg.
"Ow! Let go of that, Ripper! Ow!" Vernon yells
Soon, Marge began to float off the floor in her chair. Her necklace bursts, sending the dark brown beads flying everywhere. Petunia gets up from her chair and backs away as Marge continued to get rounder and rounder, eventually breaking out of her chair. Another button bursts from Marge's jacket and hits Dudley in the head, knocking him out of his chair and onto the floor. He rises back up again, only to get hit in the head by another button that burst from his aunt's jacket. Marge was now screaming in terror as she floated up toward the ceiling. She grabbed the table covers to pull herself back down, but the effort proved futile. In less than a minute, Marge was entirely round with only her hands and feet sticking out. Eventually, the now inflated woman rolls over and floats into the conservatory, bouncing off the glass panes, then floats out through the open door into the backyard.
"Stop!" Vernon shouts
Dragging Ripper on his right-leg, Vernon chases his sister outside and grabs her hands, trying to hold her down.
"I got you, Marge! I got you!" Vernon says
Soon, Vernon and Ripper were lifted off the ground themselves. Vernon looks down at the bulldog still hanging onto his leg, then looks up at his sister.
"Don't you dare!" Marge says turning her head to the left with an angry expression
"Sorry!" Vernon apologizes
Unable to hold on any longer, Vernon releases his grip on her sister and falls onto the grass of his backyard while his sister screams in terror.
"Oh, Vernon! Oh, God!" Petunia gasps
Petunia rushes over to her husband, who rises up onto his knees, and they both watch as the inflated woman floats off into the cloudy evening sky.
"Marge!" Vernon cries out
Dudley stood in the conservatory showing no emotions, licking the food off his bib and watching TV while his father screamed for his sister.
Angry by all that has happened, Harry tore from the dining room and ran upstairs. He storms into his room, slams shut the door behind him, and kicks his desk with his left-foot, grunting in anger. Putting his hands together, Harry sits down on his bed with a sigh and looks over at a moving photograph of his mother and father, Lily and James Potter spending time together in a park, dancing near a large fountain as leaves blew through the air. Having put up with his rotten relatives long enough, Harry decides to take his things and run away.
Dragging his trunk, Harry descends down the stairs to head for the front door when a livid Vernon stops him, demanding that he fix his sister.
"You bring her back! You bring her back now, and you set her straight!" Vernon shouts
"No! She deserved what she got!" Harry shouts
Yelling out in anger, Vernon lunges at his nephew, but Harry retaliates by pointing his wand at him, causing Vernon to back away.
"Keep away from me." Harry says
"You're not allowed to do magic outside of school." Vernon says
"Yeah? Try me." Harry says
"They won't take you back now. You've nowhere to go." Vernon says with a smile
"I don't care. Anywhere's better than here." Harry says
And so, Harry storms out of the house and leaves 4 Privet Drive in a fit of rage, panting and hastily walks down the streets of Little Whinging as he drags his trunk in his left-hand behind him. However, Vernon was right about one thing. Harry had lost control of his magic powers, and since he was still an underage 13-year-old wizard not allowed to use magic, this meant that he would be expelled from Hogwarts. But as he said, there were better places to be than with the Dursleys. But Harry was in too much of a fit to think about that right now. He was more focused on getting as far away from the Dursleys as possible.
It was now dark at night as Devon arrives in the Wizarding World, walking along the streets of Little Whinging with his hands in his pockets. He recognized the neighborhood from his last visit when he, Ron, Fred, and George rescued Harry from the Dursleys in their second year at Hogwarts as he looked around the houses. As he wandered the streets, he wondered how his best wizard friend was doing, and whether or not the Dursleys were treating him right. Then, the Keyblade Wielder glanced up at the nearly dark sky and saw a very strange sight. He saw an inflated Marge Dursley floating high up in the air, screaming for help.
"Help, would you! Help!" Marge screams
Devon stared with widened eyes and an open mouth, watching as Marge continued to float away into the sky. Never in his life had he seen anything like this before.
"Whoa... What happened to her?" Devon says
"Devon?" A male voice says
The Keyblade Wielder turned right upon hearing his name and saw Harry Potter standing behind him with his trunk.
"Harry!" Devon exclaims happily
With a smile forming on his face, the wizard boy drops his trunk, hastily walks up to the Keyblade Wielder, and embraces him in a tight hug, wrapping his arms around him. Devon smiles and returns the hug.
"It's great to see you again." Harry says
"Likewise." Devon says
The two boys pulled away and rested their hands on each other's shoulders. Devon soon noticed Harry's trunk behind him.
"Hey, what's with the trunk?" Devon asks
A frown formed on Harry's face as his eyes looked down and Devon could already tell what was going on. There was only one family that could cause Harry so much grief and misery.
"Oh, no. Don't tell me. The Dursleys?" Devon says
"Who else?" Harry says
"What happened this time?" Devon asks
Harry pointed up to the sky and the two boys looked up at the inflated Marge, who was still screaming for help.
"One of your relatives?" Devon asks
"My uncle's sister, Marge." Harry says
"Wow... Talk about a Large Marge." Devon says
"She was talking rubbish about my parents, calling my father a 'drunk' and my mother a 'bitch'." Harry says
Devon looked back at Harry and stared with a shocked expression with his eyes and mouth wide open. He couldn't believe his ears. Marge said that about his friend's parents?
"No, she didn't!" Devon gasps
Harry nods his head.
"Oh, yes she did." Harry says
"What is it with these lousy people? What do they got against your parents?" Devon asks
"Believe me, I wish I knew." Harry says
"So, how did your uncle's sister end up like a bloated balloon?" Devon asks pointing back up at Marge over his left-shoulder with his right-hand
"That's... kinda my fault. I was just so angry at her, I lost control of my magic. Now, I'm afraid I might be expelled from Hogwarts." Harry says
Devon shook his head and patted Harry's left-shoulder twice with his right-hand, offering him comfort.
"Harry, it was an accident. Accidents happen all the time. They're bound to at some point. Honestly, I don't blame you for getting angry at your uncle's sister. And I'm sure Dumbledore wouldn't blame you either. Hell, if she was talking smack about my parents, I would've exploded on her too. And if you ask me, I'd say Marge got what was coming to her." Devon says
Harry stares at Devon for a moment, then smiles.
"Thanks, Devon." Harry says
Devon nods his head.
"So, where was it you were planning on going?" Devon asks
"I was thinking maybe the Leaky Cauldron. It may not be much, but it's a start." Harry says
"Then, I'll go with you." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder went over to Harry's trunk, picks it up by its handle with his right-hand, and wheels it over to the wizard boy, who takes his luggage in his left-hand.
"Come on." Devon says patting Harry's back twice with his right-hand
And so, the two boys took a walk together, continuing down the streets of Little Whinging.
Night got darker as Devon and Harry reached Magnolia Crescent, a street that had a small park with a small playground, which had a swing set, a seesaw, a carousel, three slides, and two benches. The park was as empty as the surrounding streets. There was also an alleyway in the middle of the Crescent.
"Let's stop here for a bit." Harry says
"Alright." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy walked over to the side with the playground and sat down on the curb of the sidewalk for a minute. As they sat there, a streetlight began flickering above their heads with a soft buzzing sound, causing them to look up until the light went out. Then, they glance back at the playground over their shoulders, Devon on his left, Harry on his right. The carousel and swing set made loud squeaking sounds and the seesaw creaked as it tilted from one side to the other. An ominous feeling of unease filled the air.
Suddenly, the two boys heard a rustling sound infront of them, causing them to look ahead. Across from them was a wooden bench, surrounded by tall bushes. A creature came out of hiding in the foliage. It was a shaggy black dog, which beared its teeth and started to growl at the boys.
"Okay... Something tells me that ain't no friendly poochie." Devon says
Alarmed, Devon and Harry quickly rose up to their feet and took out their weapons. Devon summoned his Keyblade: Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light in his right-hand and Harry held out his wand in his right-hand. The dog barks at them with two vicious barks, causing Devon and Harry to step back and trip on the curb, falling backwards onto the sidewalk.
Before anything else could happen, three loud horn blows sounded off in the air. Devon and Harry look over to their right and they saw a bright light coming toward them. A tall, triple-decker, purple AEC Regent III RT bus drove up the street and stops infront of the two boys with a squeal of the brakes and a whoosh of the engine. On the front of the bus above the driver's cabin was a black label with illuminated white letters that read: Knight Bus.
At the rear of the bus was a man, 18 or 19 at most: Stan Shunpike, who was a British Pure-blood or Half-blood that worked on the Knight Bus as its conductor, wearing a purple hat and uniform to go with the color of the bus. Stan was a skilled motorist, but not very intelligent as he had a small card in his hands and read it.
"Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor this evening."
Putting the card away in the pocket of his uniform, the conductor looks down and saw the two boys on the sidewalk.
"What you two doin' down there?" Stan asks
Devon and Harry shared glances with each other, then looked back up at Stan.
"Uh... We fell over." Devon says
"What'd you fell over for?" Stan asks
"We didn't do it on purpose." Harry says
"Well, come on, then. Let's not wait for the grass to grow." Stan says
Devon de-summoned his Keyblade and both he and Harry rose to their feet. They looked around the side of the bus towards the bushes and saw that the black dog was gone, possibly scared off by the Knight Bus. Stan followed their gaze, peering his head around the bus.
"What you lookin' at?" Stan asks
"Nothing." Harry sighs
"Well, come on, then. In." Stan says
Harry goes back for his trunk, but the conductor stops him.
"Nah, nah, nah. I'll get this. You two get in." Stan says
As the wizard boy and Keyblade Wielder climb into the Knight Bus, Stan grabs Harry's trunk and lifts it up with a grunt. The luggage felt heavy for him.
"George Bennett." Stan grunts
Harry was the first to enter the Knight Bus and Devon was about to follow when he looked back at Stan, noticing how he was struggling to lift up the trunk.
"You need some help with that?" Devon asks
"Nope, nope. I got it. I got it." Stan says
Devon stared at Stan for a moment but shrugged his shoulders and walked into the triple-decker bus. He and Harry looked around the inside of the vehicle. There was no seats, but instead half a dozen bedsteads with red covers, curtained windows, and electric lamps. Weaving their way to the front, the two boys looked above them and saw a tall four-layered crystal chandelier, which reached all the down to their level. Some of the beds had a few sleeping passengers. Devon and Harry slip past a sleepy tiny wizard wearing a nightcap that mumbled in his sleep.
"Not now, thanks. I'm picking some slugs..." The tiny wizard mumbles
The conductor catches up with them and urges the boys to move up.
"Come on. Move on, move on, move on." Stan says
Soon, Devon, Harry, and Stan reach the front of the bus and the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy sit together on an empty bed. Stan took his seat on another bed, prints out two tickets for both Devon and Harry, and gives it to them. The two boys took their tickets and placed them in their pockets. Then, the conductor taps the glass of the driver's cabin behind him with his left-hand, signaling the driver inside named Ernest 'Ernie' Prang, who was a British/Irish elderly grey-haired wizard with very thick glasses that gave him an owlish appearance.
With Ernie was a male shrunken head named Dre Head, who had dark green and black skin, dreadlocks, and a Jamaican accent, hanging from the ceiling of the driver's cabin.
"Take 'er away, Ern." Stan says
"Yeah. Take it away, Ernie. Fasten your seatbelts, clench your buttocks. It's gonna be a bumpy ride! Ha ha ha ha ha!" Dre Head says with a cackling laugh
Taking a quick bite out of his sandwich, Ernie pushes a lever and the Knight Bus takes off with extremely fast speed, causing Devon and Harry to fall backwards onto the bed from the sudden jolt.
The Knight Bus sped down the streets of London, weaving around and passing Muggle cars. Inside the bus, everything rocked back and forth from the movements of the vehicle. The beds slid from one side of the bus to the other, not disturbing the sleeping passengers at all, and the crystal chandelier tinkled, swaying around in the ceiling. Stan stared at Devon and Harry with a questionable look on his face, not bothered by the Knight Bus' maneuvers, and points at them with his right-index finger.
"What did you say your name was again?" Stan asks
"We didn't." Devon says
"Well, whereabouts are you headed?" Stan asks
"The Leaky Cauldron. That's in London." Harry says
"Same." Devon says
"Did you 'ear that, Ern? The Leaky Cauldron. That's in London." Stan says glancing back over his left-shoulder
"The Leaky Cauldron. Hey, if you have the pea soup, make sure you eat it before it eats you. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Dre Head says with another cackling laugh
Devon and Harry glanced out the window of the bus on their left, watching as everything blurred passed them.
"But the Muggles! Can't they see us?" Harry asks
"Muggles?! They don't see nothin', do they?" Stan says
"No, but if you jab them with a fork, they feel! Ha ha ha ha!" Dre Head laughs
The Knight Bus turns a corner into a street surrounded by apartments and Dre Head warns the driver of something up ahead.
"Ernie! Little old lady at twelve o'clock!" Dre Head exclaims
Ernie pulls the brakes and the Knight Bus immediately stops only inches away from an elderly woman with a walker, who had only just started to cross the street, but the sudden stop also sent Devon and Harry flying forward out of their seat.
"Aah!" Harry exclaims
"Whoa!" Devon exclaims
The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy both smack against the window of the bus on the right-side of their faces.
"Oof!" Devon and Harry grunt in unison
Devon and Harry pull back and watch the old lady as she moves very slowly infront of the Knight Bus.
"Oh, you gotta be kidding me." Devon says
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five..." Dre Head says
"Come on, lady. Move." Devon says
"...four, three, three-and-a-half, two, one-and-three-quarters..." Dre Head says counting down
After what seemed like an eternity, the handicapped woman crosses over to the other side of the street, and now out of the way of the bus.
"Yes!" Dre Head says
In the blink of an eye, the Knight Bus shoots off again, driving at its top speed and throwing Devon and Harry back into their seats. As the bus went along its route, Devon noticed something infront of him.
"Hey, Harry. Check out the newspaper." Devon says
The boys looked at the newspaper from the Daily Prophet in Stan's hands and right on the front page they saw the moving portrait of a man screaming in rage. He looked to be someone in his 30's, 33 to be exact, and he had a gaunt, sunken face, waxy skin, dirty teeth, a goatee beard, and long, matted hair, holding a prisoner tag that read:
Azkaban Prison
ᛈᛉ390
And above this picture was the title that read:
Escape from Azkaban!
"Who is that? That man." Harry asks
The conductor turns the newspaper around and looks at the picture, then looks at the two boys with a raised left-eyebrow like they had never heard of the Azkaban prisoner.
"Who is that? Who is...?" Stan says
Stan turns the newspaper back around and shows the screaming prisoner to Devon and Harry.
"That is Sirius Black, that is." Stan says
"Sirius Black?" Devon says
"Don't tell me you've not been 'earing of 'im." Stan says
"No. This is the first time actually." Devon says
The conductor leans closer to the two boys.
"He's a murderer. Killed thirteen people with a single curse and got 'imself locked up in Azkaban for it." Stan says
"How did he escape?" Harry asks
"Well, that's the question, isn't it? He's the first one that done it!" Stan says
"You mean nobody's ever broken out of Azkaban?" Devon asks
"Never. He was a big supporter of... You-Know-Who. Reckon you've 'eard of 'im." Stan says
Devon and Harry shared wary glances with each other. They definitely knew of Lord Voldemort, the Dark Wizard, on account of their encounters with him twice in the past two years. First, in the underground chamber with him and Professor Quirrell for the Sorcerer's Stone, and recently under the Chamber of Secrets with his younger self: Tom Riddle.
"Oh, yeah. Him we heard of." Devon says
Soon, the Knight Bus drives over a long bridge and was approaching two double-decker buses up ahead that were both going in the same direction opposite of it.
"Ernie, two double-deckers at twelve o'clock. They're getting closer, Ernie." Dre Head says
Devon and Harry saw the two buses and their eyes widened.
"Ernie, they're right on top of us!" Dre Head says
The bus driver pushes his right-foot down on a pedal and pulls a lever back. Everything starts to move in slo-motion. Then, Ernie pulls down on another lever from the ceiling on his left. Dre Head spins around to face Devon and Harry as the bus continues driving slowly.
"Mind your head." Dre Head says
Suddenly, the Knight Bus grew very thin as it squeezed in-between the two double-decker buses. Devon and Harry watched stunned as everything, including them, stretched thin.
"Hey, guys! Guys! Why the long faces? Ha ha ha ha ha!" Dre Head laughs
Soon, the Knight Bus squeezes out on the other side and returns to normal. Crossing the bridge, the bus turns left down the street where the Leaky Cauldron stood at the end.
"Yeah! Yeah! Nearly there, nearly there, nearly there!" Dre Head says
Ernie pulls the brakes and the Knight Bus immediately grinds to a stop, bumping into a small car slightly, which made its alarm go off, and sending Devon and Harry flying into the window same as before.
"The Leaky Cauldron." Stan says
"Next stop: Knockturn Alley." Dre Head says
"Ugh... No thank you. " Devon says remembering his last visit to Knockturn Alley
Devon and Harry look towards the rear of the bus as they were greeted by a hunched man. It was Tom, the innkeeper, who had apparently been expecting them.
"Ah... Mr. Potter... and the Keyblade Wielder... at last." Tom says
The two boys followed Tom off the bus and to the door that led into the Leaky Cauldron.
"Take 'er away, Ern!" Stan says
"Yeah, take it away, Ernie!" Dre Head says
As soon as the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy stepped out, the Knight Bus sped off around the corner into the next street, disappearing into thin air. Devon and Harry enter through the door and head into the Leaky Cauldron. Tom was about to follow them when he takes out his wand and waves it at the car, stopping the alarm as it chirps off.
Now inside the Leaky Cauldron, Tom escorts Devon and Harry across the pub, which was mostly empty, save for the few patrons staying at the inn and the workers who were cleaning up the place. Devon and Harry looked over to their right and saw a man magically spinning a metal spoon in his white cup with his right-index finger while reading a book called:
A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME
From the Big Bang to Black Holes.
By Stephen Hawking
Then, the two boys watched an inn worker as he picked up an empty bottle, which disappeared inside the rag in his right-hand and picked up an empty glass before sweeping the long table a bit. He then gestured his right-hand to the four wooden chairs and they magically flipped over and slid their length onto the table. Harry's trunk was already brought inside and Tom directs a nearby worker to take it to the room he would be staying in.
"Room 11." Tom says
Moving on, Tom escorts Devon and Harry into a private parlor, which had a desk, a window and a little table, two somewhat uncomfortable chairs, and an active fireplace in the right of the inside was Harry's pet owl, who was perched on a nearby coat hanger on the left.
"Hedwig!" Harry says happily
Harry walks over to Hedwig and strokes her head with his left-hand.
"Right smart bird you got there, Mr. Potter. She arrived here just five minutes before yourself." Tom says
"Ahem!" A man grunts clearing his throat
Devon, Harry, and Tom looked over to their right and saw a man standing behind the desk at the back of the room, gazing out through the window with a white feathery quill pen writing on some paperwork by itself on the desk. It was the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, who Devon and Harry remembered seeing in Hagrid's Hut during the events of their last year at Hogwarts when the Chamber of Secrets had opened, and the Basilisk attacked the Muggle-born students.
"As the Minister for Magic, it is my duty to inform you, Mr. Potter, that earlier this evening your uncle's sister was located just a little south of Sheffield, circling a chimney stack." Fudge says
Harry takes a seat in the chair facing the rest of the room while Devon stood next to him on his left. On the table infront of them was a silver plate that had snacks like pea soup, crackers, and bread. Tom made some offers the boys, but they wave their hands dismissively.
"The Accidental Magic Reversal Department was dispatched immediately. She has been properly punctured and her memory modified. She will have no recollection of the incident whatsoever." Fudge says
The Minister turns and walks over to the boys with a smile on his face.
"So, that's that... And no harm done." Fudge says spreading his hands out
Fudge looks over at Devon on his right and was very pleased to meet him.
"Ah. And this must be the Legendary Keyblade Master who saved Hogwarts from closing down last year." Fudge says
Devon scratched the back of his head with his left-hand out of slight embarrassment.
"Well, I didn't do it alone. Harry helped too. And technically, I'm not a Keyblade Master yet. I'm still training." Devon says patting Harry's left-shoulder twice with his right-hand
Devon points to the Minister with his left-hand.
"Cornelius Fudge, right? Our friend, Ronald Weasley told us about you. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir." Devon says
Devon extends his right-hand out to Fudge, who gladly shakes his hand.
"And it is always an esteemed privilege to meet the Keyblade's Chosen." Fudge says
Fudge gestures his left-hand to a small silver bowl on the table.
"Pea soup?" Fudge asks
"Uh, no thank you. Um... Minister." Harry says
"Yes?" Fudge says
"I don't understand." Harry says
"Understand?" Fudge asks
"I broke the law. Underage wizards aren't allowed to use magic at home." Harry says
"Oh, come now, Harry. The Ministry doesn't send people to Azkaban for blowing up their aunts." Fudge says with a smile
Tom laughs like a braying donkey until Fudge casts a glare at him, causing him to bow his head low.
"On the other hand, running away like that was very, very, irresponsible given the state of things." Fudge says walking over to Devon and Harry's side
"The 'state of things', sir?" Harry asks
"We have a killer on the loose." Fudge says
"Sirius Black?" Devon asks
"But what does that have to do with me?" Harry asks
"Oh, nothing, of course. You're safe! That's what matters. And tomorrow, you'll be on your way back to Hogwarts." Fudge says shaking Harry's right-hand
Fudge looks over at Devon on his right.
"And I trust that you will be accompanying Harry back to Hogwarts as well, Devon?" Fudge asks
"Of course, sir." Devon says nodding his head
"Excellent." Fudge says
The Minister walks back over to his desk and turns around to face the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy once more.
"Oh, uh, these are your new schoolbooks. I took the liberty of having them brought here." Fudge says pointing to the right-side of the room with his right-hand
Tom gestures his hands to a stack of books behind him on his right.
"Now, Tom will show you to your rooms." Fudge says
Harry rises up from his seat and both he and Devon follow Tom to the door of the parlor. Before heading out, Harry turns around and holds his left-arm up, calling his pet owl.
"Hedwig." Harry calls
The snowy owl flies over to her owner and perches herself on Harry's left-arm.
"Oh, by the way, boys, whilst you're here, it would be best if you didn't... wander." Fudge says
The next day, Devon and Harry both stayed in their own individual rooms. Harry was in Room 11 while Devon was in Room 9 a little ways up the hallway. Their rooms had a single comfortable bed, highly polished oak furniture, and a crackling fire, which was always burning in the grate to welcome the visitor to their lodgings.
In his room, Harry gazed down at the Muggles through the window as they were caught in heavy traffic in the streets due to a double-decker bus unloading tons of luggage. A commuter train rolls past the Leaky Cauldron on an elevated railroad above the streets with its wheels squeaking. Turning away from the window, Harry decides to check on his schoolbooks, which sat on a small table near the fireplace. There was one particularly large book that caught his eye as it shook slightly, uttering soft bleating. This book was actually alive having brown fur coverings, a tentacled mouth with teeth on the side of the pages, and a title on it in yellow lettering called:
The
Monster Book
of
Monsters
Harry unlatched the belt that sealed up the book, and its four spider-like eyes opened and blinked. Flipping the book over, the wizard boy stared at the mouth as it purred softly. Suddenly, the monster book attacks with vicious snarls and yapping, trying to bite Harry. The wizard boy drops the crazy textbook onto the floor and it crawls toward him while he backs away and jumps onto the bed. Unable to reach him, the Monster Book crawls underneath the bed. Staying up on top, Harry looks down and peeks his head under the bed. The Monster Book was hiding away deep underneath the bed, purring softly until it charges at Harry with more loud yapping. The wizard boy rises back up, hiding up above the bed from the sentient textbook as it comes out. It looks around left and right for a moment before it slinks back underneath the bed. Coming up with an idea, Harry takes off his right shoe and holds it up over the floor as bait. He soon drops it and the Monster Book crawls out and chomps down on the shoe. Then, Harry jumps and stomps down on the wild textbook, which lets out a whimpering squeak.
Out in the hallway, Devon came out of his room and walked over towards Harry's room to check up on him. He saw a broomstick sweeping the floor on its own and a day maid as she passes him by, approaching the door to Room 10 and knocking on it three times.
"Housekeeping." The day maid says
The door to Room 10 opens and a loud roar comes from inside, startling Devon a bit, but not the maid.
"I'll come back later." The day maid says
Devon watches as the maid continues down the hallway, but kept a stunned gaze on Room 10.
"I don't even want to know what's in there." Devon says
Soon, Harry came out of his room and closed the door behind him, meeting up with Devon in the hallway.
"How you doing, Harry?" Devon asks
"Oh, fine." Harry says
Suddenly, a small rat runs down the hallway from the right of the two boys, squeaking loudly. It was Scabbers, Ron's pet rat. Chasing behind him was a male Half-Kneazle cat that had a lion-like appearance, having big, bandy legs, ginger fur, a squashed head, a bottlebrush tail, and yellow eyes. His name: Crookshanks. The cat chased after Scabbers, yowling, hissing, and snarling as they raced down the hall past Devon and Harry. Curious to investigate, the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy followed them out into the pub and they heard two very familiar voices inside. It was Ron and Hermione, who were arguing with each other about their pets. Coming out into the pub, they saw them down below with Ron holding Scabbers in his hands and Hermione holding her cat, Crookshanks in her arms.
"I'm warning you, Hermione! Keep that bloody beast of yours away from Scabbers, or I'll turn it into a tea cozy!" Ron says
"It's a cat, Ronald. What do you expect? It's in his nature." Hermione says
"A cat? Is that what they told you? Looks more like a pig with hair, if you ask me." Ron says
"That's rich, coming from the owner of that smelly old shoe brush!" Hermione says
Hermione strokes her cat's head and back with her right-hand.
"It's all right, Crookshanks. You just ignore the mean little boy." Hermione says
Devon crossed his arms and leaned against the railing of the stairs.
"Ha ha. Well, isn't this a surprise?" Devon chuckles smiling
Ron and Hermione look up toward the stairs and were very happy to see their friends Devon and Harry.
"Harry! Devon!" Ron exclaims happily
"Harry! Devon!" Hermione exclaims happily
"What's up?" Devon greets
Later on, the Leaky Cauldron was now bustling with patrons as the day started out for everyone. Devon, Harry, and Ron sat together one side of the long table while Hermione sat across from them on the other side and they gaze down at a newspaper from the Daily Prophet with a moving picture that showed Ron and the entire Weasley family, waving hello as they all wore desert clothes, standing together in a desert with a few camels off to the right and the three pyramids of Giza in the background behind them. At the top of the newspaper was a title that read:
Prize Winner
Visits Egypt!
Devon and Harry gazed down at the newspaper and the picture with much interest.
"Egypt. What's it like?" Harry asks
"Brilliant! Loads of old stuff, like mummies, tombs. If it's anything like Devon's adventures. Even Scabbers enjoyed himself." Ron says
"You know the Egyptians used to worship cats." Hermione says
"Yeah, along with the dung beetles." Ron says
The rest of the Weasley family soon came into the pub with the twins: Fred and George coming over to the table.
"You're not flashing that clipping again, are you, Ron?" Fred asks
"I haven't shown anyone." Ron says
"No, not a soul. Not unless you count Tom..." George says grabbing the newspaper
"...the day maid..." Fred says
"...the night maid..." George says
"...the cook..." Fred says
"...that bloke that came to fix the toilet..." George says
"And that wizard from Belgium." Fred says
The two Weasley brothers walked around the table and both took a seat on the other side while Devon and Harry turn around to their right and saw Molly Weasley coming to greet them.
"Mrs. Weasley." Harry greets
"Harry! Devon!" Molly greets
Molly wraps his arms around Devon, embracing him in a tight, loving hug.
"Good to see you, dears." Molly says
"Good to see you, too." Harry says
"Wonderful to see you, Mrs. Weasley." Devon says
"Now, Harry, have you got everything you need?" Molly asks placing her right-hand on the left-side of Harry's face
"Yep." Harry says
"Yes? All of your books?" Molly asks
"Yeah, it's all upstairs." Harry says
"And all of your clothes?" Molly asks
"Everything's there." Harry says
"Good boy." Molly says
"Thank you." Harry says
Then, Arthur Weasley comes and greets the two boys, shaking both their hands.
"Harry Potter. Devon." Arthur greets
"Mr. Weasley." Devon and Harry greet in unison
"Boys, wonder if I might have a word?" Arthur asks
"Uh, sure. Okay?" Devon says
Arthur leads the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy away from the table, passing Hermione and Ginny as they slip by.
"Hermione." Arthur greets
"Good morning, Mr. Weasley." Hermione greets
"Hey, Ginny." Devon greets
"Hi, Devon!" Ginny greets happily
Devon stopped and did a double take on Ginny as he looked back at her over his right-shoulder for a moment. She seemed to have significantly grown older since last year, appearing almost as a young teen. He catches up with Harry and Arthur as they hide away in a small private area in the corner of the pub.
"Looking forward to a new term?" Arthur asks
"Yeah, it should be great." Harry says
Arthur looks around for a moment, then changes the conversation as he leans against a stone column with his right-hand, speaking secretively to Devon and Harry, trying to keep his voice low as possible.
"Boys, there are some within the Ministry who would strongly discourage me from divulging what I'm about to reveal to you. But I think that you need to know the facts. You, Harry, are in danger." Arthur says
Arthur leads the boys further into the secret area and places his hands on Harry's arms, looking at him with a serious expression.
"Grave danger." Arthur says
"Has this anything to do with Sirius Black, sir?" Harry asks
Arthur quickly glances over his left-shoulder for a moment to make sure no one was listening, then looks back at the Keyblade wielder and wizard boy.
"Boys, what do you know about Sirius Black?" Arthur asks
"Only that he killed thirteen people with a single curse." Devon says
"And that he's escaped from Azkaban." Harry says
"Do you know why?" Arthur asks
"Not really." Devon says
"13 years ago, when Harry stopped..." Arthur says
"Voldemort." Harry says
"Don't say his name." Arthur says
"Sorry." Harry apologizes
"When you stopped... You-Know-Who, Black lost everything, but to this day, he still remains a faithful servant to him, even to the Dark Lord that Devon mentioned." Arthur says
"Teridax." Devon says
"It's really hard to believe that there's a Dark Lord who's far worse and powerful than You-Know-Who." Harry says
More and more, Arthur leads Devon and Harry away from the others until they hide away into a dark corner.
"And in Black's mind, you are the only thing that stands in the way of You-Know-Who returning to power and reforming his alliance with Teridax. And that is why he has escaped from Azkaban. To find you." Arthur says
"And kill me." Harry says
"Don't worry. That's never going to happen. Not while I'm around." Devon says
"Harry, I want you to swear to me that whatever you might hear, you won't go looking for Black." Arthur says
"Mr. Weasley, why would I go looking for someone who wants to kill me?" Harry asks
"I'm sorry, boys. I can't say no more. You'd best get ready for your trip to Hogwarts." Arthur says
Arthur places his hands on Devon and Harry's shoulders, wishing him the best.
"Good luck." Arthur says
Having said that, Arthur leaves to join the rest of his family. Devon and Harry shared wary glances with each other, then looked over at a nearby wanted poster that showed a moving picture of an evil Sirius Black holding his prison tag much like in the newspapers. This poster read:
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WIZARD?
APPROACH WITH EXTREME CAUTION!
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE MAGIC AGAINST THIS MAN!
Any information leading to the arrest of this man shall be duly rewarded
Notify immediately by owl the Ministry of Magic
Although Devon and Harry were excited about returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft of Wizardry, they had a feeling that this year would prove to be their most challenging yet. Everything in the Wizarding World was about to change.
Author's Note: And here's the beginning of the third chapter in the films: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Out of all the films in the saga, this is the one that I'm most excited for. Devon meets up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione and escaped prisoner of Azkaban, Sirius Black, is on the loose. Next up, Dementors on a Train! To anonymous(guest), in regard to the creatures you have, I know you are a Kaiju fan, but I think maybe you should tone down their sizes a bit, still huge but something smaller. Size comparisons would be helpful like 'big as a modern-day bus', or 'large as a Tyrannosaurus Rex' something like that. The Megantis is good, though I've yet to see any strengths or weaknesses. Every creature has a weakness. Atrocibat, Umbra Goblin, GiganDrake, Night Oni, Centiblade, Reptilion, MercBrute, Dreadjas, those definitely caught my eye. In my opinion, they're great! ThanatoRaptor? It's a good design, but I think it should have a different name like: Obsidoraptor. For Whipper-Snappers and Megaboa, I believe Scorpio Snapper and Slither Boa would be better suited for them. And for the Ghosteye? The Treant design was the only one I liked. The profile you describe? Mmm... I don't think so. At least I used it. Shouldn't that be enough? And have you seen any recurring fights with any major Heartless, Nobody, Unversed, or Dream Eater? They're all expendable. Seeing as how these are my stories, if you want me to use your creatures, it'll be on my terms, expendable or not. Anyways, let me know what you guys think. No flames please. Hope you guys like and don't forget to review!
