Morning dawned on a new day in Hogwarts with blue birds chirping happily with their voices. One of them flew over the castle courtyard and through an enclosed wooden bridge before coming out into the grounds and heading towards the Whomping Willow. Unfortunately, this blue bird got too close to the gigantic tree and it flicks the small creature away with one of its branches, causing it to disappear in a puff of its feathers. After dealing with the noisy creature, the Whomping Willow creaks and straightens itself.

In the magic school, Devon, Harry, Ron and their fellow classmates started with a new school subject: Divination. Their teacher, a witch named Sybil Trelawney.

Sybill Trelawney was a 30 year old Half-blood British/Irish witch who taught Divination at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was extremely eccentric, had a theatrical presence, and spoke in a misty, ethereal tone, seeing herself as a great Seer. She had brown hair and wore large glasses that hugely magnified her brown eyes ten times than their natural size, and was draped in a green, gauzy, spangled shawl. Innumerable chains and glittering strings of beads hung around her spindly neck and her arms and hands were encrusted with bangles and rings all covered with shining sequins.

The Divination classroom was located in the North Tower to the right of the Clock Tower at one corner of the Quad and it looked like a cross between an attic and an old-fashioned teashop. Crimson curtains hung from the windows, but were split apart to allow sunlight into the room. Everyone sat at twenty small, circular tables, which were crammed inside the room, all surrounded by chintz armchairs and fat little pouffes. Many lamps hung from the ceiling around the classroom, draped with dark red scarves. And the shelves running around the circular walls were crammed with dusty-looking feathers, stubs of candles, many packs of tattered playing cards, countless silvery crystal balls and a huge array of teacups.

Devon, Harry, and Ron sat together at a table in the front row, which, like everyone else, had white teacups on top of white plates with a green ornate teapot in between them, while Professor Trelawney sat in the center of the room in an red cushion armchair, greeting her students.

"Welcome, my children. In this room, you shall explore the noble art of Divination. In this room, you shall discover if you possess the Sight." Trelawney says

The Divination teacher rose up from her seat, knocking into her small table and causing it to move slightly, making the small teapot and cup, which sat on a white plate to clatter loudly.

"Hello. I am Professor Trelawney. Together, we shall cast ourselves into the future!" Trelawney says spreading her hands out and raising them up

Trelawney chuckles with a smile.

"This term, we shall be focusing on Tasseomancy, which is the art of reading tea leaves. So please, take the cup of the person sitting opposite of you." Trelawney says crossing her arms

Everyone switches their teacups and looks inside at the black tea leaves.

"What do you see? The truth lies buried like a sentence deep within a book, waiting to be read." Trelawney says

The Divination teacher approaches Seamus' table and closes her hands around his head.

"But first, you must broaden your minds. First, you must look... beyond!" Trelawney says looking off to the right and gesturing her right-hand out to the ceiling

"What a load of rubbish." Hermione mutters

Harry and Ron glance back at Hermione as she suddenly appeared in the classroom next to Devon on his left, reading one of her books.

"Where did you come from?" Ron asks

"Me? I've been here all this time." Hermione says

Devon and the Wizarding Trio look over towards Professor Trelawney as she approaches Neville as he sat at a table with another Gryffindor student named Dean Thomas.

Dean Thomas was a 14 year old English Half-blood wizard who appeared to be African descent with dark brown skin, brown eyes, and short black hair.

"You, boy, is your grandmother quite well?" Trelawney asks

"Uh, I-I think so." Neville says

"I-I wouldn't be to sure of that. Give me the cup." Trelawney says

Trelawney takes the cup from Dean and looks into it with a sympathetic look on her face.

"Oh... Hmm... Pity." Trelawney says

Putting the cup down, the Divination teacher walks further along the front row.

"Broaden your minds!" Trelawney says

Trelawney hums to herself until her eyes laid on Ron and she gasps with intrigue.

"Oh! Oh! Your aura is pulsing, dear. Are you in the beyond? I think you are." Trelawney says

"Sure." Ron says

"Look at the cup. Tell me what you see." Trelawney says

"Oh, yeah, um..." Ron says

Ron opens up his textbook on Divination and flips through the pages with his right-hand while holding the tea cup.

"Well, Harry's got sort of a wonky cross. That's trials and suffering. And, uh, that there's could be the sun, and that's happiness. So, uh... you're gonna suffer... but you're gonna be happy about it." Ron says

"That doesn't seem to make any sense." Devon says

"Give me the cup." Trelawney says

Trelawney takes the cup from Ron and looks into it. As soon as she saw the tea leaves inside, she immediately puts the cup down and backs away, gasping in fear.

"Ah! Aah!" Trelawney yells

Everyone looks at the Divination teacher with surprised expressions.

"Professor Trelawney? What is it? What'd you see?" Devon asks

Clutching her heart with her hands, Trelawney looks at Harry with a face full of horror.

"Oh, my dear boy. My dear... you have... the Grim." Trelawney says

All the students in the classroom gasped and murmured amongst themselves.

"The Grin? What's the Grin?" Seamus asks

Another Gryffindor student named Bem, who was a 14 year old of Nigerian descent with dark skin, a round face, dark eyes, short black hair, and slightly overweight with a lisp, corrected Seamus on the term.

"Not the Grin, you idiot, the Grim." Bem says

Looking through his book on Divination, Bem explains the Grim.

"Taking form of a giant spectral dog, it's among the darkest omens in our world. It's an omen... of death." Bem reads

Harry looks into his tea cup with Devon and they saw that the black leaves were in the shape of a menacing dog. As they stared into the cup, the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy remembered seeing a black dog on Magnolia Crescent in Little Whingeing and they shared wary glances with each other.

After finishing their class with Professor Trelawney and the disturbing revelation of the Grim, Devon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked down the hills of the grounds, making their way towards Hagrid's Hut, which stood at the bottom for their next class: Care of Magical Creatures.

"You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black, do you?" Ron asks

"Oh, honestly, Ron! If you ask me, Divination's a woolly discipline. Now, Ancient Runes, that's a fascinating subject." Hermione says

"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this term?" Ron asks

"A fair few." Hermione says

"Isn't Ancient Runes the same time as Divination?" Devon asks

"That's not possible. You'd have to be in two classes at once." Ron says

"Don't be silly, Ron. How could anyone be in two classes at once?" Hermione says

As they continue down the hill, Hermione start to imitate Professor Trelawney with her voice.

"Broaden your minds! Use your inner eye to see the future!" Hermione chuckles

Soon, the Keyblade Wielder and the Wizarding Trio reached the bottom of the hill and they approached Hagrid's Hut as he stood outside already with a group of students forming infront of him, wearing a worn black vest, a dirty white long-sleeve shirt underneath with rolled up cuffs, grey pants, and brown leather boots. Also with him was the radiantly beautiful Alura LightHeart and her Unicorn sisters, Stella, Valoria, Evelyn, Leila, Brianna, and Silvia.

"Hey, look! There's Alura and her sisters!" Devon says

The quartet made their way over to the seven unicorns, who were happy to see them, especially Devon.

"Devon!" Alura exclaims happily

"Hey, Alura!" Devon greets with a smile

Alura trots over to Devon and wraps her neck around his body, embracing him in a hug and nuzzling him with much affection.

"Oh! Oh, Devon. We heard about what happened to you and Harry on the Hogwarts Express with the Dementors and we were so very, very worried about you two." Alura says

The young teen strokes the unicorn's neck with his right-hand.

"Hey, hey, it's okay. We're fine. Everything's alright. You can thank Professor Lupin for saving our skins... and our souls." Devon says

Pulling away from his hug with Alura, Devon looked over to the right as Alura stepped away to the left and the rest of her sisters trotted up to him and the Wizarding Trio.

"Hey, girls." Devon greets

"Hello, Devon. It's wonderful to see you again." Stella says bowing her head

"We're quite relieved to see you and Harry both alright." Valoria says

"It's still unbelievable. Among all the other students that were on that train, the Dementor came upon you four. That must've been a dreadful experience." Evelyn says

"I hate Dementors. They're really, really scary." Silvia says shivering with fright

Seeing Silvia's nervous state, Stella lowers her head down to her younger sister and nuzzles her in comfort.

"Shh, shh... It's okay, Silvia." Stella says

Brianna instantly trots up to Devon and pulls him close to her, embracing him in a tight hug with her neck and forelegs as she imagined such a terrible fate with Devon's soul drained by the Dementor.

"Oh! The thought of my dear sweet Keyblade Wielder being soulless! Oh, the horror! The humanity! The unicornity!" Brianna sobs

"Uh... Is that even a real word?" Devon asks with a raised right-eyebrow

Brianna soon lets go of Devon and steps back, allowing him to breathe, then gives him a big, five-second long smooch on the right-side of his face, leaving a red kiss mark on his cheek. Devon blushed and blinked his eyes before rubbing his face clean with his arm while Harry, Ron, and Hermione laughed.

"Don't you worry, Devon. If those creepy Dementors suck the life out of you, I'll just bring you back with the Kiss of Life." Brianna says

"Can you really do that?" Devon asks

Alura and her sisters giggled.

"No. Brianna's just exaggerating." Alura says

Brianna frowned sadly and her ears drooped. Soon, Hagrid comes up to the group and speaks

"Hello, Devon. Hello, Harry." Hagrid greets

"Hey, Hagrid." Devon and Harry greet in unison

"Ready for your first day of teaching?" Devon asks

"As ready as I'll ever be. Of course, Alura and her sisters will be assisting me." Hagrid says

Alura and her unicorn sisters nodded their heads.

"So, shall we get started?" Hagrid says rubbing his large hands together

Stepping up onto the top step of his hut, Hagrid calls out to the group of students.

"That's it. Come on, now. Come closer. Less talking, if you don't mind." Hagrid says

Everyone quieted down, letting the Half-giant speak.

"I've got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So, everyone, follow me." Hagrid says

Hagrid steps down and proceeds to walk towards the Forbidden Forest with Devon, the Wizarding Trio, the seven Unicorns, and the group of students following him. As they walked together, Ron leans his head right towards Devon.

"Seems like Brianna's got a thing for you, Devon." Ron says

Devon and the Wizarding Trio look ahead at Brianna as she kept trotting along with her sisters. The rose-colored unicorn casts a quick glance back at them and winks her right-eye. She giggles and sweeps her tail from side-to-side, putting more sway into her rear.

"Heh. Tell me something I don't know. Not that I'm complaining or anything." Devon says leaning left towards Ron

After a five minute walk from Hagrid's Hut, Hagrid and the seven Unicorns lead the group into an enclosure in the edge of the Forbidden Forest, which had a wide, square paddock with stone walls.

"Right, you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there. And open your books to page 49." Hagrid says

"Exactly how do we do that?" Malfoy asks in a snobbish voice

"Well, just stroke the spine, of course. Goodness me." Hagrid says

While Hagrid went off to fetch the magical creature he would be using for his lesson, all the students hung out and took out their Monster Book of Monsters, stroking the spine to calm the books and unlatching the belt that sealed them. Neville unsealed his book without stroking the spine and the aggressive book growls and attacks him, knocking him to the ground while he screamed.

"Don't be such a wimp, Longbottom." Malfoy says

Neville sits up with his robes torn in a few places.

"I'm okay. Okay." Neville says

The monster book yaps and attacks Neville again, knocking him back down. Devon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione stopped over by a large rock and saw what was going on with Neville. Alura and her unicorn sisters stood near them and the other Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws.

"I think they are funny." Hermione says

"Oh, yeah. Terribly funny! Really witty! God, this place has gone to the dogs! Wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes!" Malfoy says

Crabbe, Goyle, Pike, and the rest of Malfoy's gang chuckles.

"Shut up, Malfoy." Harry says

"And put a sock in it!" Devon says

"Ooh!" Malfoy and his gang says

Malfoy gives his bag over to Crabbe on his left, then slowly walks over to Harry and Devon until he was inches away from them. Devon moved infront of Harry and stared Malfoy straight in the eyes with a serious expression.

"You say anything about Hagrid, you say it to my face." Devon says in a low voice

Malfoy stares at Devon until he looks up and starts to back away.

"D-Dementor! Dementor!" Malfoy exclaims pointing with his right-hand

Everyone, except Devon, Alura, Stella, and Valoria, looked back.

"What?! Where?!" Silvia exclaims

Malfoy and his gang of Slytherins laughed. And as everyone looked back at them, they pulled up their hoods and stretched their hands out, making spooky voices and pretending to be Dementors.

"Ooh..." Malfoy and his gang moan in unison

Before things could escalate any further, Hermione grabs Harry and leads him away.

"Just turn away, boys." Hermione says

Devon sighs and follows her.

"Yeah, we know." Devon says

Neville joined his fellow Gryffindors and set his now calm book down on the rock.

"You're supposed to stroke it." Ron says

"Yeah." Neville says

Seeing his torn robe, Leila trotted over to Neville.

"Oh, here, Neville. Let me fix you up." Leila says

Leila's horn glowed with a bright cyan aura and she shoots a magical beam at Neville. In a flash of light and magic sparkles, Neville's clothes were patched up and fixed.

"There! Good as new!" Leila says

"Thanks, Leila." Neville says smiling

Leila smiles and winks her right-eye at Neville. Soon, Hagrid came back and cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention.

"Ahem!" Hagrid grunts

With everyone looking towards him, the Half-giant turns around and spreads his hands out, gesturing to the magical creature that stood nearby.

"Da-da-da-da!" Hagrid says

Devon, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and all the other students stared in amazement at the magical creature that stood before them. What they saw was a stormy grey colored Hippogriff, a beast that had the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse, and the front legs, wings, and head of a giant eagle, a cruel, steel-colored beak, and large, brilliantly orange eyes. The talons on its front legs were half a foot long and deadly-looking. The Hippogriff bleated as it stood tall and proud, tilting its head like an eagle.

"Isn't he beautiful?" Hagrid says

Hagrid took a dead ferret from a string that was hanging around the back of neck, which had three other ferrets tied on it, and tosses it over to the magical creature as a treat, which snatched it up in its beak and swallowed the small mammal in four bites.

"Say hello to Buckbeak." Hagrid says

"Hagrid, what exactly is that?" Ron asks

"That, Ron, is a Hippogriff." Hagrid says

"They're carnivores whose diet consists of insects, birds, and small mammals like ferrets. When breeding, they build nests on the ground and lay only a single egg, which hatches in 24 hours." Evelyn says

"Thank you for that, Evelyn. But the first thing you want to know about Hippogriffs is that they're very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult a Hippogriff. It may just be the last thing you ever do." Hagrid says

The Half-giant smacks his hands together and turns around to face Buckbeak.

"Now... who'd like to come and say hello?" Hagrid says

Everyone steps back, except for Devon and Harry. Hagrid turns around and saw the two boys standing together ahead of the other students.

"Well done, boys. Well done." Hagrid says

Harry looks back at his fellow students, then looks over at Devon on his left, who just shrugs his shoulders and pats his back twice. The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy step forward as Hagrid explains on what to do.

"Now... you have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So... you both step up. Give him a nice bow. Then you wait and see if he bows back. And if he does, you both can go and touch him. And if not..." Hagrid says

"If not?" Devon asks with a raised right-eyebrow

"Well, we'll get to that later. Now, just make your bow. Nice and low." Hagrid says

Harry bows his head low while Devon places his right-hand over his chest and bows his head. Buckbeak notices the two boys and spreads his wings out with a squawk.

"Back off, boys! Back off!" Hagrid says waving his left-hand twice

Harry and Devon take a step back with Harry stepping on a stick that breaks with a loud snap. Hermione gasped and grabbed Ron's right-arm.

"Keep still." Hagrid says

Devon and Harry remained still and glanced their eyes up to look at the Hippogriff. Buckbeak bleated softly and observed them for a moment, then gives the two boys a bow of his own, lowering his head and stretching his left-paw out.

"Well done. Well done, boys." Hagrid chuckles

Hagrid congratulates Buckbeak too, grabbing another ferret off his string and tossing it to him.

"Eh, you big brute, you." Hagrid chuckles

Buckbeak catches the dead mammal and chomps it down with seven bites before letting out a belch. Devon and Harry both straightened up and breathed a sigh.

"Right. Now, I think you can go and pet him now." Hagrid says

Harry looks over at Hagrid on his right with a surprised expression.

"Go on. Don't be shy." Hagrid says

Harry and Devon shared glances with each other and Devon nods his head. Together, the two boys both take small steps forward.

"Nice and slow there. Nice and slow." Hagrid says

Harry stretches his right-hand out as he made his approach.

"Not so fast, Harry." Hagrid says

Buckbeak squawks and snaps his beak with a squawk, causing Harry to gasp and pull his hand back slightly. Hermione gasps and now her hand was down to Ron's hand. The two of them noticed their hands touching and they quickly took a step away from each other. Devon and Harry soon stopped only a few feet infront of Buckbeak.

"That's it. Now let him come to you two." Hagrid says

Buckbeak starts to make his approach, moving slowly towards the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy with low grunts, while they cautiously stepped towards him.

"That's it. Slowly, slowly." Hagrid says

Within moments, Harry's hand made contact with Buckbeak's head and he smiled. Devon reached out with his left-hand and stroked the other side of Buckbeak's head with a smile of his own. The Hippogriff grunted lowly in content at the touch of the two humans while Hagrid smiled on the success.

"Yes! Well done! Oh, well done, boys! Well done!" Hagrid says clapping his hands

Ron, Hermione, and the other students, save for Malfoy and his gang, clapped their hands and applauded the boys on their triumph. As Devon and Harry continued petting Buckbeak, Hagrid went on to phase three of his lesson.

"I think he may let you two ride him now." Hagrid says

"What?!" Harry says turning his head right at Hagrid in surprise and shock

"Devon, you first." Hagrid says

Hagrid walks over to Devon and picks him up from behind.

"Whoa!" Devon says

The Half-giant moves around Buckbeak's left while he watches.

"Set you down right behind the wing joints." Hagrid says

Carefully, Hagrid sets Devon down on Buckbeak's back, causing the Hippogriff to squawk in surprise to the added weight. The Keyblade Wielder places his hands on the sides of Buckbeak's neck and made himself comfortable on his bareback. Once he was onboard, Hagrid goes back for Harry.

"And, Harry, you too." Hagrid says

The Half-giant grabs the wizard boy from behind and lifts him up, despite his protests.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Ha-Hagrid!" Harry says

"Put you down here. Right behind Devon." Hagrid says

Moving around Buckbeak's right, Hagrid sets Harry down behind Devon.

"Don't pull out any of his feathers, 'cause he won't thank you for that." Hagrid says

Once the two boys were on the magical creature's back, Hagrid smacks Buckbeak's rear with his left-hand and the Hippogriff rears up on his hindlegs, kicking his front legs and letting out a loud grunt.

"Whoa!" Devon and Harry exclaim in unison

Buckbeak quickly moves across the paddock with a running start, going fast with Devon holding onto his neck and Harry holding onto him with his hands around his best friend's waist. Soon, the Hippogriff spreads his wings out and flaps them three times, taking flight with the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy.

"Whoa! Harry exclaims

"Whoo!" Devon hollers

All the students watched as Buckbeak took off above the trees with Devon and Harry on his back.

Rising up over the trees of the forest, Buckbeak took the two boys on a smooth, idyllic flight over Hogwarts, flying high above the grounds and courtyards, and around the towers.

"Hey, Harry! If you're wondering what it's like flying a dragon, this is what it's like! Ha ha ha!" Devon chuckles glancing back at Harry over his right-shoulder

After flying around the majestic castle, Buckbeak glides toward the Black Lake and makes a smooth descent down to the water, letting out a caw. Devon and Harry look down over the right-side of the Hippogriff and they saw their reflections in the passing waters. Maintaining his glide, Buckbeak drags his right-paw along the lake's surface. Fascinated by the ride, Harry slowly rises up and spreads his arms out, shouting in his triumph.

"Ha! Whoo-hoo!" Harry hollers

Devon glances back over his right-shoulder at Harry and chuckles, glad that his wizard friend was enjoying himself.

"Heh heh." Devon chuckles

"Whoo-hoo... Whoo-hoo!" Harry hollers

Soon, Buckbeak flaps his wings and ascends up into the sky again.

"Whoa!" Harry exclaims

Harry quickly puts his arms around Devon's waist as Buckbeak rises back up.

"Ho! Hold on, Harry! Looks like we're heading back!" Devon shouts

Hagrid saw the Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy flying overhead through the trees and he whistles Buckbeak down with his right-hand to his lips. The Hippogriff descended down into the enclosure and looped around as he came in for a landing. Buckbeak spreads his wings out and lands on the ground on his four feet with a soft, gentle thud while Alura, Brianna, Leila, and the other students cheered for Devon and Harry.

"Well done, Devon!" A Hufflepuff witch says

"Well done, Harry!" A Ravenclaw witch says

"That was excellent, boys!" Alura says

"Very fine flying." Stella says

"Yay, Harry! Yay, Devon! Yay, yay, yay!" Brianna and Leila cheer in unison jumping up and down

"Well done, Harry! Well done, Devon! And well done, Buckbeak!" Hagrid says

"Oh, that was wicked, Harry!" Hermione says

"Bloody brilliant!" Ron says

While the other students were amazed, Malfoy was not at all impressed.

"Oh, please!" Malfoy groans

"Well done, well done." Hagrid says

Walking over to Buckbeak, Hagrid lifts Devon off first and sets him down, then picks up Harry and sets him down.

"How am I doing on me first day?" Hagrid asks

"Brilliant... Professor." Harry says

While Hagrid wasn't looking, Malfoy pushes two students away and walks right up towards Buckbeak.

"Yes. You're not dangerous at all, are you, you great ugly brute?" Malfoy says

Buckbeak saw Malfoy walking towards him and he did not like his attitude. By the time Hagrid saw what was happening, it was already too late.

"Malfoy! No!" Hagrid exclaims

Offended and provoked, Buckbeak rises up on his hind legs with a loud, angry grunt, startling Malfoy as he backs away. The blonde-haired wizard tries to shield himself from the Hippogriff's wrath and it scratches him on his right-arm with a swipe his talons, knocking the Slytherin student to the ground. Alura and her sisters gasped while the other students screamed and ran for safety.

"Buckbeak!" Hagrid exclaims

The Half-giant quickly moves infront of Malfoy, spreading his hands out and shielding him from the enraged Hippogriff as he reared up and flapped his wings, grunting loudly.

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Buckbeak!" Hagrid says

Grabbing a ferret from his string, Hagrid tosses it away to the right and Buckbeak chases after it.

"Away, you silly creature." Hagrid says

Once Buckbeak was out of the way, Hagrid turns to Malfoy, who was lying on his back, whimpering like a baby as he held his wounded arm.

"Oh, it's killed me! It's killed me!" Malfoy whimpers

"Calm down! It's-It's just a scratch!" Hagrid says

"Hagrid! He has to be taken to the hospital!" Hermione says

"I'm the teacher. I'll do it." Hagrid says

The Half-giant picks up Malfoy and carries him away, but not before dismissing the class.

"Class dismissed!" Hagrid says

"Oh! Oh, you're gonna regret this. You and your bloody chicken!" Malfoy whimpers

Devon and Harry watched as Hagrid carried Malfoy out of the enclosure with the other students. Buckbeak came up to their left and nudged Devon with his beak, uttering a low grunt. Devon sighed and rubbed his right-hand on the Hippogriff's head.

"It's okay, Buckbeak. You didn't do anything wrong." Devon says

Alura, Stella, and their unicorn sisters trotted over to Devon and Harry, watching as Hagrid proceeded to take Malfoy back to the castle.

"Oh, dear... This isn't gonna look good for Hagrid." Stella says

"And definitely not good for Buckbeak either." Alura says

"No doubt Draco's father is going to hear of this." Valoria says

Later that week, Devon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat in the Great Hall on break from their classes with the rest of their fellow Gryffindors at their table. Devon, Harry, and Hermione sat on the one side near the windows while Ron sat on the other side. The quartet looked behind them at Slytherin's table and saw Malfoy with right-arm now bandaged up in a sling. One of his fellow Slytherins, a young British/Irish Pure-blood witch named Pansy Parkinson, who was 14 years old with brown eyes, long brown hair, and a pug-face, sat next to Malfoy on his right and asked about his arm.

"Does it hurt terribly, Draco?" Pansy asks

"It comes and it goes. Still, I consider myself lucky. According to Madame Pomfrey, another minute or two, and I, uh, could've lost my arm. I couldn't possibly do any homework for weeks." Malfoy says

Devon rolled his eyes as he and his friends listened to their conversation.

"Listen to the idiot. He's really laying it on thick, isn't he." Ron says

"And I seriously doubt Madame Pomfrey told him that about his arm." Devon says

"Yeah, but at least Hagrid didn't get fired." Harry says

"I'm sure Dumbledore wouldn't allow that. What happened that day wasn't Buckbeak's fault. Malfoy taunted and provoked him. That's on him. He's just an ignorant, overconfident prick." Devon says

"Yeah, you got that right. Not to mention he's a really foul git." Ron says

"Yeah, but I heard Draco's father is furious." Hermione says

"Oh, great. Lucius. I can only imagine the things he's got to say." Devon groans

"We haven't heard the end of this." Hermione says

Suddenly, Seamus came running into the Great Hall with a newspaper from the Daily Prophet in his hands.

"He's been sighted! He's been sighted!" Seamus shouts

"Who?" Ron asks

"Sirius Black!" Seamus says

"Where?!" Devon asks

All the students at Gryffindor table gathered around to look at the newspaper. Hermione scanned the article and discovered where the Azkaban prisoner was sighted.

"Dufftown?! That's not far from here." Hermione says

"Y-You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts, do you?" Neville asks nervously

"With Dementors at every entrance?" Dean asks

"Dementors! He's already slipped past them once, hasn't he? Who's to say he won't do it again?" Seamus says

"That's right. Black could be anywhere. It's like trying to catch smoke. Like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands." Bem says

Devon and Harry stared down at the moving picture of Sirius Black as he screamed in rage while two hands, one on each of his shoulders, possibly the guards, restrained him.

Continuing on with their school curriculum, Devon, Harry, Ron, and their fellow students began their next class in Defense Against the Dark Arts with Professor Lupin in Classroom 3C. The room had been cleared of the tables and chairs to allow space for their lesson with him. In the center of the room was a wardrobe that had rusted mirrors on its side, which shook from something trapped inside.

"Intriguing, isn't it? Would anyone like to care to venture a guess as to what is inside?" Lupin asks

"That's a Boggart, that is." Dean says

"Very good, Mr. Thomas. Now, can anybody tell me what a Boggart looks like?" Lupin asks

"No one knows." Hermione says

Much like as she did in Professor Trelawney's class, Hermione suddenly appears in the room, standing next to Devon, Harry, and Ron on their right.

"When'd she get here?" Ron asks looking at Devon and Harry

The two boys shrugged their shoulders as Hermione continued to explain.

"Boggarts are shape-shifters. They take the shape of whatever a particular person fears the most. That's what makes them so..." Hermione says

"So terrifying. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Luckily, a very simple charm exists to repel a Boggart." Lupin says

Lupin stands infront of the wardrobe and turns to face Devon and the group of students.

"Let's practice it now. Uh, without wands, please. After me: Riddikulus!" Lupin says

"Riddikulus!" Devon and the students say in unison

"Very good. A little louder and very clear. Listen. Riddikulus." Lupin says

"Riddikulus!" Devon and the students say in unison

Malfoy, who was also in attendance for the class, stood in the back of the room with his gang of bullies.

"This class is ridiculous." Malfoy mutters

"Very good! Well, so much for the easy part. You see, the incantation alone isn't enough. What really finishes a Boggart is... laughter. You need to force it to assume a shape you find truly amusing. Let me explain. Uh, Neville. Will you join me please?" Lupin says

Neville stood hesistant for a moment and looks over at his friends.

"Come on. Don't be shy. Come on." Lupin says

Mustering up his courage, the nervous Gryffindor steps forward.

"Hello. Neville, what frightens you most of all?" Lupin asks

"Prof... Sna..." Neville stammers with a low, quiet voice

"Sorry?" Lupin asks

"Professor Snape." Neville says

"Yes. Frightens all. And I believe you live with your grandmother." Lupin says

"Y-Yes. But I don't want that Boggart to turn into her either." Neville says

"No. It won't. I want you to picture her clothes, only her clothes, very clearly, in your mind." Lupin says

"She carries a red handbag." Neville says

"We don't need to hear. As long as you see it, we'll see it. Now, when I open that wardrobe, here's what I want you to do." Lupin says

The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher walks over to Neville and whispers into his left-ear.

"Imagine Professor Snape wearing your grandmother's clothes." Lupin whispers

Neville looks at the professor with a surprised expression.

"Can you do that?" Lupin asks

Neville nods his head.

"Yes. Wand at the ready." Lupin says

Neville and Lupin both take out their wands and turn to face the wardrobe.

"One... two... three." Lupin says counting up

With a wave his wand, Lupin unlocks the wardrobe and the knob turns counter-clockwise. The door creaks open and the Boggart, in the form of Professor Snape, appears from the darkness of the wardrobe.

"Think, Neville. Think!" Lupin says

As the fake Professor Snape walks toward him, Neville casts his spell with a wave of his wand.

"Riddikulus!" Neville chants

With the incantation, the fake Snape's black robes changes into a green dress with a large weasel necklace and a matching skirt, black fingerless gloves, a red handbag appears in his right-hand, and a black hat with a stuffed bird appears on his head. Everyone laughs.

"Wonderful, Neville! Wonderful! Incredible. Okay. To the back, Neville." Lupin says

Neville steps away and Lupins turns to the rest of the class.

"Everyone, form a line!" Lupin says

As Devon and the students line up, Malfoy shoves a student in and Crabbe pushes everyone from behind. Soon, the line was formed with Ron up front first.

"Form a line! I want everyone to picture the thing they fear the most and turn it into something... funny." Lupin says

Lupin walks over to the left-side of the room and activates a record player, placing the needle on a record that was already on the turntable. The instrument starts to play a rascous, swing music.

"Next! Ron!" Lupin says

Ron steps forward to face the Boggart.

"Concentrate. Face your fear. Be brave!" Lupin says

In a whirl of different shapes and forms, the Boggart transforms from Professor Snape into a giant spider, a Black Widow to be precise. Ron whimpers and takes out his new wand he got from Olivanders wand shop in Diagon Alley from the left-side within his robes, which was 14" long, made of willow and had a core of unicorn hair.

"Come on, wand at the ready, Ron. Wand at the ready." Lupin says

Facing his fears, Ron waves his wand and spoke the incantation.

"Riddikulus!" Ron chants

Eight roller skates appear on the eight legs of the giant spider, which causes it to stumble around.

"Yes! You see? Very good! Very good!" Lupin chuckles

Eventually, the spider falls onto it's belly, unable to stand up.

"Marvelous! Absolutely, very, very enjoyable. Parvati! Next! Parvati." Lupin chuckles

Ron steps out of line and walks over to the back, high-fiving Devon and Harry on his way. The next student, a 14 year old Pure-blood/Half-blood British/Irish witch named Pavarti Patil, who had dark skin, dark long hair usually worn in a plait, and dark eyes, stood and faced the Boggart.

"Show us what you see." Lupin says

With a whoosh and a whirl of shapes, the Boggart transforms into a giant cobra, which hissed at Pavarti.

"Keep your nerve steady." Lupin says

As the snake lunged at her, Pavarti waved her wand and spoke the incantation.

"Riddikulus!" Parvati chants

Right before everyone's eyes, the giant cobra transforms into a giant Jack-in-the-box, which blinked its eyes occasionally as it swung back and forth. Everyone laughs.

"And next! Step up! Step up!" Lupin chuckles

Harry steps forward next and watches as the large Jack-in-the-box rocks back and forth.

"Wonderful, wonderful!" Lupin says

Soon, the Boggart transforms again, this time into a Dementor, which flew toward Harry with its rattling, distorted breath and its decayed hands stretched out to grab him. Lupin immediately jumps infront of Harry with his hands spread out to defend him and draws the Boggart's attention toward him.

"Here!" Lupin exclaims

Seeing Lupin infront of it, the Boggart transforms again and takes the form of dark clouds with a bright glowing orb. It was the full moon. But why was Lupin afraid of the moon? With a wave of his wand, Lupin cast his spell.

"Riddikulus!" Lupin chants

The moon changes into a white balloon, which flies around the room, Devon, and the students with air whooshing out. As the deflating balloon came back around, Lupin waves his wand at the wardrobe, in which the door opens up, and the Boggart flies inside. The door closes, sealing the shape-shifting creature inside.

"Right, well, sorry about that. Uh, that's enough for today. If you'd all like to collect your books from the back of the class, that's the end of the lesson. Thank you." Lupin says

All the students groaned in disappointment.

"Sorry. Sorry. Go on. You can't have too much of a good thing." Lupin apologizes

Harry was almost disappointed that Lupin stopped him from facing the Boggart, thinking that Lupin felt he was not up to the task. Devon walked up to Harry and placed his right-hand on his left-shoulder, drawing his attention. They shared confused glances with one another, then looked back at the wardrobe as it shook and rumbled.

A month later in October, on Halloween, Devon and the third year students gathered in the Clock Tower Courtyard, where Professor McGonagall stood before them with Argus Filch on her left. During this time, Harry wore a black hoodie and dark blue jeans, Ron wore a crimson sweater, stone-colored pants, and dark brown shoes, and Hermione wore a brown hoodie wool jacket with a pink shirt underneath, beige pants, and brown shoes.

"Now, remember, these visits to Hogsmeade Village are a privilege. Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way, that privilege shall not be extended again." McGonagall says

Harry steps up to speak to McGonagall, but she holds up her right-hand politely to stop him.

"No permission form signed, no visiting the village. That's the rule, Potter." McGonagall says

"All those with permission, follow me. Those without, stay put." Filch says

While the rest of the third years followed Mr. Filch, Harry tried to get Professor McGonagall to sign his permission form.

"But Professor, I thought if you signed it, then I could go." Harry says

"I can't. Only a parent or a guardian can sign. Since I am neither, it would be inappropriate." McGonagall says

The Transfiguration teacher proceeds to follow Filch and the other third years, but stops and turns to face Harry once more.

"I'm sorry, Potter. That's my final word." McGonagall apologizes placing her right-hand on Harry's left-shoulder

Having said that, McGonagall follows Filch and the third years out of the courtyard. Devon, Ron, and Hermione watched them go, then looks back at Harry.

"Forget about it, guys. See you later." Harry says

Harry turns and walks back to the entrance of the clock tower while Devon, Ron, and Hermione move to catch up with the Professor McGonagall, Mr. Filch, and the third years. Halfway across the courtyard, Devon stops and glances back at Harry over his right-shoulder as he stood alone, then looks back at Ron and Hermione as they stopped and glanced back at him.

"Devon, aren't you coming?" Hermione asks

"Nah. You and Ron go ahead, Hermione. I'm gonna stick with Harry." Devon says waving his right-hand

And so, Ron and Hermione continue following the students on their trip to Hogsmeade while Devon goes back over to Harry, not wanting to leave him alone. The Keyblade Wielder walks over to Harry's right-side and nods his head at him, then they both watch as their friends and the other third years continue heading for Hogsmeade without them.

Later that day, Devon and Harry paid Professor Lupin a visit as they walked with him on a covered wooden bridge, which was right next to the Clock Tower Courtyard and appeared to be derelict with the roof sagging and tarred, extending over a ravine and blending in with the natural enviornment. The Keyblade Wielder and wizard boy leaned against the railings of the bridge as they met with the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

"Professor, can I ask you something?" Harry asks

"You want to know why I stopped you facing that Boggart, yes? I would've thought it'd be obvious. I assumed it would take the shape of Lord Voldemort." Lupin says

"I did think of Voldemort... at first. But then, I remembered that night on the train... and the Dementor." Harry says

"Well, I'm very impressed. That suggests that what you fear the most is fear itself. This is very wise." Lupin says

"Before me and Devon fainted... I heard something. A woman... screaming." Harry says

"I did too. Only I don't think it was the same woman that Harry heard. The one I heard screamed my name." Devon says

"Well, Dementors force us to relieve our very worst memories." Lupin says

"So, you mean that Dementors feed off on happiness?" Devon asks

"Yes, Devon. That's exactly what they do. Our pain becomes their power." Lupin says

"I think it was my mother... the night she was murdered." Harry says

"And I think what I heard was my mother. That night when my homeworld was destroyed... when she was... when she was killed." Devon says

Lupin gazed out at the surrounding enviornment infront of him before speaking to Harry.

"You know, the very first time I saw you, Harry, I recognized you immediately." Lupin says

The teacher turns and looks at the wizard boy on his left.

"Not by your scar; by your eyes. They're your mother Lily's." Lupin says

"You knew Harry's parents?" Devon asks

Lupin walks over to the other side of the bridge and gazes out at the green mountains.

"Yes. Oh, yes. I knew them. Lily was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others. Even, and perhaps most especially, when that person could not see it in themselves." Lupin says

"My mother's pretty much like that too. Even before she became a Keyblade Wielder, she was very kind and caring for many people." Devon says

"Oh, I'm sure she was, Devon. Well, your father, James, Harry, on the other hand, he, uh... heh... he had a certain, shall we say, talent for trouble. A talent, rumor has it..." Lupin says

Turning back around, Lupin walks back over to Harry and faces him.

"...he passed onto you. You're every much like them than you know, Harry. In time, you'll come to see just how much." Lupin says

Harry looks up at Lupin with a smile. The pale-faced man then looks over at Devon as he stood next to Harry on his left.

"So, Devon, I imagine your parents were Keyblade Wielders as well in their time?" Lupin asks

"Oh, yeah. They were the best. Both of them aspired to do great things together. From what I've heard about them, they were certainly strong. If anything, they were almost like Harry's folks. Up until... they died." Devon says

Harry and Lupin stared at Devon with sympathetic expressions, knowing well enough the pain he was experiencing.

"Well, I'm sure your parents would most definitely be proud of the man you grown into now, Devon. And I'm sure you'll grow to become even, if not, much, much stronger than them. From what I've heard about you and what you've done for Hogwarts with Harry and his friends, I can tell that you are certainly gifted in your magic, your talents, and your abilities. I know you'll turn out to be an exceptionally great Keyblade Master." Lupin says

Devon, Harry, and Lupin turned and continued to gaze out at the mountains and the rest of the ravine, enjoying each other's company.

Author's Note: Devon and his friends kick off their third year in Hogwarts with a bang! Revelations of the Grim in Divination, Flight of Buckbeak, the Hippogriff, and the shape-shifting Boggarts. So much has been covered in the school curriculum already. However, Sirius Black looms ever closer to Hogwarts. How long until this escaped prisoner of Azkaban meets our heroes? Only time will tell... To anonymous(guest), for the new names you've given me for the Dark Slayer, I'm gonna go with Wrathius. For the Obsidoraptors, I've decided on Scourge and Bloodeye.
