It is nighttime.

Mr. Wolf stops his car in a residential neighborhood.

He sighs before turning off the engine.

He takes his time getting out of the car and walking to the driveway.

He stops for a moment to check his clothes and fix his hair.

She goes to ring the doorbell.

She hesitates.

He takes a breath and rings the doorbell.

He waits anxiously, tapping his foot rhythmically on the floor.

The door opens.

- Hi, Mom. -He smiles apologetically. -

It's the first time they see each other after so long.

The family greets each other with a hug before entering.

You can see the mailbox with the inscription; The Wolffords.

- Too bad your friends couldn't come. -says the Loba, mixing the beans.

- They were busy. -He answers, helping her to cut the vegetables.

- And your girlfriend? -Asks the father, taking out the dishes to set the table. -

She must have a good excuse for not meeting her in-laws.

- No. ... We're done. -He says sadly.

- What! -But they were so cute together and she's so lovely. -

They've talked on the phone before to reconnect.

- What happened? -Take out the cutlery.

- We fought. -It's appositely ambiguous. -It was your fault.

- It was your fault, wasn't it? -He accuses.

- Karl! -exclaims the woman.

- Look at his face. -That's the face of a man who knows he acted like an idiot. -

- Moe. -She calls him expectantly.

- Yeah. -He admits, concentrating on chopping vegetables.

His father pats him on the shoulder before going to the dining room.

- So what happened? -He insists. Maybe I can give you some advice. -

Wolf thinks about how to explain without telling him that they were involved in a secret government mission to prevent a war.

- It's private. -He gives up, realizing that many details of the mission are crucial to the development.

- So just tell me what you think you did wrong. -He brings the beans to the table and the chops.

- Well. . . . -He follows her with the salad and mashed potatoes.

Everyone sits down to eat.

- Long story short; We were pressed with work at the Agency, I began to doubt the morals of what we were doing. -

- Why? -asks his father.

- I can't... Reveal client information. -

- It must be serious if it included the governor. -comments the she-wolf.

- Pretty much. -Cuts her chop.-I'll just say it wasn't Good Guys versus Bad Guys, it was just . . . Guys who did good and bad things. -

The parents exchange a look.

- Diane agreed, these were issues that clashed, but she affirmed that she couldn't let feelings get in the way of responsibility. -

- So what happened? -The older wolf insisted.

- I. . . I couldn't do it, I was sure there had to be a solution that would benefit both of them. -

- You got attached to the enemy. -says the mother incredulously.

- Maybe. -He plays with his food.

- And as I see it ended very badly. -Karl says in a muffled voice.

- It didn't go as expected, they had their target firmly in place, and after a roller coaster of emotions; my friends and I regained control of the situation. -

He couldn't help but say it with a bitter note.

He knows that to the ''enemy'' he became what he hated the most; The Big Bad Wolf of his history.

- Diane was still angry and said she was not someone to be trusted. -

- I guess your friends felt the same way. -Charlotte suggested.

They'd booked this dinner weeks ago so everyone could come.

And for everyone to suddenly cancel. . . .

The wolf nods and silence settles in the room.

No one seemed to have an appetite.

- What a disappointment. -You haven't changed a bit. -

- What? Wolf looks at him incredulously.

He turns around, but his mother has a sad look on her face.

- Let me see if I understand. -

He presses the bridge of his nose.

- Seeing that your friends and girlfriend had a strong opinion, you avoided insisting on communicating. -

He enumerates.

- You failed at your job because you have a need for people to like you, as well as being very impressionable. -

His son looks at him in disgust.

- And most likely you had a fight, and because you don't know how to control yourself, you told them things you regret. -

They are silent again.

- Am I right? -

Wolf has clenched his fists tightly.

- There can only be two things for you to end up like this. -Wolf speaks. - You really did a really BIG stupid thing to make them mad at you like that, or you've done it so many times that they got tired of you. -

Wolf makes a panicked face as he listens to her.

- Moe. -It doesn't matter if you apologize and try to fix it, it's no use if you don't change or control yourself, you'll keep making more and more mistakes. -

- . . . I know. -He lowers his ears.

Memories invade him.

The pain of rejection when they found out he was a wolf and not a dog.

How he let himself be swayed into illegal racing because he thought he knew his people.

Lying to his parents.

Getting caught by the police and being expelled from school.

Not being able to communicate to them that he didn't want to live his life with the familiar job of being a warden.

Going back to illegal racing.

The fights with hurtful words.

And how he himself abandoned them because they were adamant that they didn't want that kind of behavior in this house.

- I don't know what to do. -Close your eyes tightly.

- Listen to me. -His mother takes him by the shoulders. We love you. -

He looks into her eyes.

- But that doesn't mean we will spoil you in everything. -

His father joins his wife.

- Angry, sad or disappointed, we will still love you, it just changes shape. -

- I'm sure your friends feel the same way. -To get them back you must first get over yourself. -

The wolf stares at them.

After all they never stopped loving him.

It's getting late.

- Are you sure you don't want to sleep over? -Charlotte asks at the door of the house.

- It's okay, I'll drive carefully. -

- Good luck with your friends. -Karl says to her.

- I promise I'll get them back. -He says with determination.

- And don't worry if Diane just wants to be your friend. -After all, she's out of your league. -

- Mom! -

- You know it's true. -He supports his wife. Don't worry, there are more fish in the sea. -

- Shouldn't you support me?! -

- Son, we are your parents. -We are here to introduce you to the world, not to be your friends. -

- You haven't changed either. -He says frustrated.

His parents smile at him.

- Remember; Even if we are the worst at what we do, we know in our hearts that we are better than we were yesterday. -

Moe sighs, it's what they have always told him.

They smile and hug goodbye.

Although many things are difficult, he feels that nothing he did and will do will be in vain.

I hope you liked it, I know it doesn't revolve around the main couple.

Fun fact:

I called her Charllote by Charles Perrault, the one who is said to have written the Little Red Riding Hood story in the 17th century.

Karl by the Brothers Grimm (Both have Karl in the name.).

And Moe from the Book series; The Bad Guys.

Fun Fact 2:

I must admit, I always found it odd that he changed his mind so quickly in the movie from being bad to being good.

And even though it's a kids movie I always like to look for meaning in things.

So I thought; What if he was always like that.

I don't just mean that he was always good.

Also how easily influenced and his lack of communication.

I find it an incredible contrast of how those same actions caused him to become a Bad Guy and then turn him into a Good Guy while still retaining that confidence for people.

After all emotions are not good or bad.

It's the actions that define you.
