Kashyyyk, a terrestial, temperate jungle planet and homeworld of the tall, hairy, beastly humanoid Wookies, located in the Mytaranor Sector of the Mid Rim Territories. It's surface was covered with wroshyr trees, mountains, forests, and jungles. It was here that Grand Jedi Master Yoda traveled to help the Wookiees liberate their planet from the droid army of the Separatists. In the Wawaatt Archipelago laid the coastal capital city of Kachirho, which spiraled around the trunk of a 984ft tall wroshyr tree that stood in front of a large blue freshwater lagoon. There was also smaller trees like Tree Kachirho and Tree Vikkilynn, which had platforms and balconies built along their trunks as Wookie settlements and individual communities, each resting upon interlocking branches. It was a cloudy day on Kashyyyk with Raddaugh Gnasp fluttercrafts, and Oevvaor Jet Catamarans with Wookie riders and Can-cells flew through the air, filling the sky with their buzzing sounds.
Can-cells were large, flying dragonfly-like insectoids that had red and blue skin, six spindly legs, four long wings, large green eyes, and long, colorful segmented tails. They were trainable as pets and were seen as creatures of good luck.
Raddaugh Gnasp fluttercrafts were compact twin-seated Wookie manufactured ornithopter often used for patrolling the dangerous jungles and forests of Kashyyyk, operated by a Wookie pilot and a gunner on the rear-mounted laser cannon. The vessel had eight wings, four on the nose of the craft, and two on the top of the cockpit, which rapidly flapped like insect wings.
Oevvaor Jet Catamarans were slim twin hulled vessels that were once used for recreation, sports, and fishing, but were now converted into aerial gunships. The catamaran had tough hulls, handcrafted from the wood or wroshyr trees, and were powered by a compact twin repulsorlift, a pair ofpodracer-style engines provided the forward thrust, and was controlled by a pair of rudders at the end of the hull for steering. These ships were operated by two Wookie pilots and had room for two other passengers.
On the shores of Kachirho City, batallions of clone troopers from the 501st legion, the 41st Elite Ranger Corps, clone scout troopers, and Wookie warriors were moving into defensive positions, setting a perimeter and preparing to confront the Separatist droid army, who were across the Wartaki Sea. Also on the beach was Jedi Master General Luminara, who stood in consultation with a group of Wookies and had been preparing for the Separatist attack for several months, and Quinlan Vos, who had been reassigned from Boz Pity to provide with reinforcements such as the HAVw A6 Juggernauts, AT-RTs and AT-APs.
AT-RTs or All Terrain Recon Transport were small, lightweight, two-legged bipedal walkers used for reconnaissance, ground support, civil defense, and post-battle cleanup. Piloted by a single clone trooper, these vehicles had an open cockpit, single chin-mounted Maad 38 laser cannon, and a rear-mounted mortar launcher. These walkers also featured an encrypted communication system, a small, sophisticated sensor package, and a sound baffling system for stealth operations.
AT-APs or All Terrain Attack Pod were small, tripedal walkers used for long-range artillery strikes. Crewed by a pilot and two gunners, these vehicles had an angular hull situated above two multi-jointed legs, and a smaller retractable third leg mounted in the front of the two legs. The AT-AP's primary weapon was a powerful long-range heavy mass-driver cannon on the forward hull, which launched a durasteel penetrator at hypersonic speed over extreme distances with deadly accuracy. In addition, the walker also had a heavy laser cannon situated in an open-topped dorsal-mounted turret, manned by a gunner, and an underbelly heavy repeating blaster.
HAVw A6 Juggernauts were massive, heavily armed and armored assault vehicles used as troop transports and main battle tanks. They had ten, huge, all-terrain wheels, a boxy hull of sloping thermal super conducting armor, a command deck on the forward section, an extendable observation pod, and a small bunker mounted aft of the troop compartment that housed a backup command deck and the rest of the gunnery stations. The interior of the vehicle was spacious and could carry up to a company of 300 fully equipped clone troopers in individual jump seats on two decks. The forward command deck of the HAVw A6 Juggernauts was operated by a pilot, co-pilot, vehicle commander, navigator, engineer, comms operators, and two forward gunners. And in terms of weaponry, the Juggernauts had a lot of destructive potential, armed with two anti-personnel laser cannons, a dorsal turret-mounted rapid-repeating rotary laser cannon manned by a clone gunner, two retractable hull-mounted anti-personnel flex ordnance launchers, two twin forward-mounted anti-personnel light blaster cannons, and a dorsal turret-mounted heavy laser cannon.
As the clone and Wookie army readied themselves for the confrontation, up on an elevated platform of Tree Kachirho, Yoda sat in a chair at his command post, which overlooked the coastal city and the sea. With him were two Wookies: General Tarfful on his left and Lieutenant Chewbacca on his right.
Tarfful was a male Wookie chieftain and general who was a fierce fighter, but was normally calm and caring. He was massive with dark brown and beige fur on various sections of his body, blue eyes, and wore traditional Wookie armor around his shoulders and chest.
Chewbacca was a male Wookie warrior, known for his great strength, loyalty, and bravery. He was also massive with blue eyes, brown fur with black around his shoulders, waist, and the sides of his upper legs.
Yoda was currently in a meeting with the Jedi Council, who appeared before him through four holographic projectors on a wooden table. Anakin sat in his seat on the council and relayed the information he learned from Palpatine about General Grievous.
"Palpatine thinks General Grievous is on Utapau?" Ki-Adi-Mundi asks
"A partial message was intercepted in a diplomatic packet from the chairman of Utapau." Anakin says
The green Jedi Master placed his left-hand on his chin and pondered over this new information.
"Hmm." Yoda says
On Coruscant, it was daytime in the Galactic City as the Jedi Council sat in their seats. Yoda soon spoke through his hologram.
"Act on this we must. The capture of General Grievous will end this war. Quickly and decisively we should proceed." Yoda says
"The Chancellor has requested... that I lead the campaign." Anakin says
"The council will make up it's own mind who is to go. Not the Chancellor." Windu says
"A master is needed with more experience." Yoda says
"I concur. Master Kenobi should go." Ki-Adi-Mundi says looking over at Obi-Wan on his right
Devon, who stood next to Obi-Wan on his left, stepped forward and spoke up, volunteering to join in on the hunt for Grievous.
"With the council's permission, I'd like to accompany Master Kenobi to Utapau. If General Grievous is really as tough as I hear, I'm sure he'd appreciate the extra support. Grievous may be used to fighting Jedi, but I know a Keyblade Wielder will certainly give him some trouble." Devon says
Devon looks right at Obi-Wan, who nods his head in agreement.
"Devon's right. His skills with his Keyblade have proven to be quite extraordinary and it will certainly give us a great advantage over Grievous." Obi-Wan says
"I agree." Yoda says
"Aye." Ki-Adi-Mundi says
"Aye." Windu says
Anakin looks down, feeling disappointed by the decision of the council.
"Very well. Council adjourned." Windu says
The transmission with the Jedi Council terminates and Yoda climbs down from his seat, approaching a clone trooper behind him, who was observing the droid army across the Wartaki Sea with his personal green macrobinoculars. This was CC-1004, or Gree as he was nicknamed.
Gree was a Clone Commander of the 41st Elite Ranger Corps. He wore phase 2 clone armor, which was green in color, though different parts of his armor were in darker shades, his visor was a reflective green, and his boot armor was black. His armor also sported camouflage markings, primarily on his forearms and legs.
After observing the Separatist forces for several minutes already, Gree lowers his macrobinoculars in his left-hand and kneels down to Yoda on his left.
"The droids have started up their main power generators." Gree says
"Then now the time is, Commander." Yoda says
"Yes, sir." Gree says nodding his head
On the beach, the Wookiee army stood together on the beachfront defense, each ready to fight the droid army, which was now approaching Kachirho city. Captain Merumeru, a brown-furred, blue-eyed Wookie chieftain and leader of this army, wearing a helmet, ornamented pauldrons, and a harness, rose up and stood on top of the gray barricade, wielding his brown wooden battle staff in his right-hand and letting out a loud roar. The rest of the Wookie warriors roared and followed Merumeru as he leads the charge, running out towards the approaching droid army, which charged toward them across the Wartaki Sea. Battle droids rode on NR-N99 droid tanks as they traveled over the water while HMP droid gunships flew overhead and DSD1 dwarf spider droids emerged from the sea, crawling onto shore. Within moments, the Battle of Kashyyyk began with blaster bolts flying across battlefield. Clone troopers and Wookie warriors fired their DC-15A blaster carbines and Bowcasters from the beach, taking cover in trenches, while clone scout troopers stood on their positions along the branches of a Tree Kachirho, providing fire support from higher ground. Two Wookiees swung from an Oevvaor Jet Camarans on ropes, letting out Tarzan-like yells as they descend down onto NR-N99 droid tank. They plant mines on the sides of the droid tanks, then jump safely into the sea. The mines blinked with a blue light twice on startup, then blink red in the final two seconds of the timer before detonating in a medium-sized explosion, destroying the droid tanks. Yoda observed the battle from his elevated command post. Two stray blaster bolts from the droid army strikes close to the small green Jedi Master, but miss him by inches as he moves away to the right.
Back on Coruscant, Devon and Obi-Wan walked with Anakin along the walkways of the Cruiser Staging Area in the Republic Military Base as they proceeded toward their Venator Star Destroyer flagship, Vigilance, which sat docked in the staging area below, waiting for its two commanding Generals. Devon walked alongside Obi-Wan on his right while Anakin was on their left. T7-13 was also with them, rolling alongside his master, Devon on his right.
"You're both gonna need me on this one, Master." Anakin says
"Oh, I agree. However, it may turn out just to be a wild bantha chase." Obi-Wan says
"Still, if Grievous was last reported on Utapau, it's worth investigating." Devon says
As they approached the ramp that led down to the Republic cruiser, Anakin stops and apologizes to his Master as he and the Keyblade Wielder stopped and turned left to face him.
"Master. I've disappointed you. Uh, I haven't been very appreciative of your training. I've been arrogant and I apologize. I've just been so frustrated with the council." Anakin says looking down in shame
Obi-Wan stares at his apprentice with a kind smile on his face.
"You are strong and wise, Anakin and I am very proud of you. I have trained you since you were a small boy. I have taught you everything I know. And you have become a far greater Jedi than I could ever hope to be. But be patient, Anakin. It will not be long before the council makes you a Jedi Master." Obi-Wan says
The Keyblade Wielder places his left-hand on the Jedi Knight's right-shoulder.
"Don't worry, Anakin. If Grievous is on Utapau, me and Obi-Wan will put a stop to him. You can count on us." Devon says
Anakin looks up at his friends and smiles at them, while they smiled back. Devon, Obi-Wan, and T7 head onto the boarding ramp and begin descending down toward their Republic flagship until Anakin calls out to them.
"Obi-Wan, Devon." Anakin calls
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master turn around to their left and face Anakin once more as he bids them farewell and good luck with their mission.
"May the Force be with you." Anakin says
"Same to you, Anakin." Devon says
"Good-bye, old friend. May the Force be with you." Obi-Wan says
Having said farewell, Obi-Wan continues down the boarding ramp toward the Vigilance while Devon stayed behind for a bit. The Keyblade Wielder looks back up at the Jedi Knight and nods his head, then turns and heads down the ramp, calling T7 to his right.
"Come on, T7." Devon says
T7 beeps and whistles in acknowledgment, following the Keyblade Wielder down to the Venator-class Star Destroyer. Once all preparations were made, the Vigilance takes off from the military base and leaves Coruscant with the rest of the fleet under Devon and Obi-Wan's command, which consisted of at least five Venator Star Destroyers, the Vigilance included, and the Third Systems Army, which included clone trooper units from the 7th Sky Corps, the 212th Attack Battalion, the 442nd Siege Battalion, and the 501st Legion. With their destination bound for Utapau, the fleet rises up into the atmosphere, departing from the Galactic City, and flies off into the blackness of space.
On Mandalore, after losing Maul in the undercity of Sundari, Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Captain Rex briefed Devon, who had his arms crossed, and Obi-Wan, who had the hood of his Jedi cloak up, via their holograms inside the throne room of the Sundari Royal Palace as they looked over the holographic display of city, projected by R4-M1, a yellow and white R4 astromech droid.
"There are a small number of firefights still happening in Sector 11. But for the most part, your clones have been as effective as promised. Still, without Maul in custody, this could fall apart quickly. We must capture him before he escapes." Bo-Katan says
"He mentioned two names, Darth Sidious and Teridax." Ahsoka says
"Who is this Sidious and Teridax?" Bo-Katan asks
"We do not know much about Sidious, but I will share with you what the Council suspects." Obi-Wan says
The hologram of Sundari City fades away as R4-M1 shuts off its projector and rolls away while the meeting continued as the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master revealed what they knew about Darth Sidious and Teridax.
"Darth Sidious is the Sith Lord who orchestrated the Clone Wars and played both sides of it from the beginning." Obi-Wan says
"And Teridax is the name of the Dark Lord of the Shadows, an ancient, evil entity of pure darkness, said to be the most ultimate being in the Universe, across all space and time." Devon says
"Maul said the same thing about him." Ahsoka says
"It's more than likely that Sidious is in league with Teridax. If there's only one thing a Sith Lord like him cannot deny, it's ultimate power, which is exactly what an extremely powerful being like Teridax can provide. From one Dark Lord to another." Devon says
"I first learned the name of the Sith Lord from Count Dooku, though any chance of learning more about Sidious from Dooku has been lost." Obi-Wan says
"Why?" Ahsoka asks
"Because Count Dooku is dead." Obi-Wan says
"It's true. Anakin killed him in our duel onboard General Grievous' flagship while rescuing the Chancellor. Obi-Wan was knocked unconscious, but I saw it myself. Dooku was on his knees, at his mercy, and Anakin executed him with both his and Dooku's lightsaber, cutting his head off." Devon says
Ahsoka stares with widened eyes, shocked by the news of how her master finally defeated his nemesis.
"Why would Anakin do that? Doesn't he know it's against the Jedi Code to kill an unarmed prisoner?" Ahsoka asks
"Yes, but Palpatine ordered him to do it. Said that Dooku was too dangerous to be kept alive. That leaves me a bit suspicious... Anyway, with Dooku gone, we've lost a vital link to understanding who Darth Sidious really is. But based on what we remember, Maul was once an apprentice to Sidious. If you can capture him, then he can provide the missing pieces to this puzzle and reveal the Sith Lord's true identity." Devon says
"Then send me more men." Ahsoka says
"Unfortunately, we cannot. Devon and I are being sent to hunt down General Grievous on Utapau." Obi-Wan says
"What about Anakin? Maybe he can reinforce us?" Ahsoka asks
Obi-Wan stares at Ahsoka for a moment, then looks at Bo-Katan and Rex, asking for a moment of privacy.
"May we speak to Ahsoka alone for a moment?" Obi-Wan asks
Bo-Katan and Rex acknowledge the Jedi Master's request and take their leave of the throne room. Once they were gone, Obi-Wan told Ahsoka of Anakin's secret task.
"Anakin is on a special assignment by order of the Jedi Council." Obi-Wan says
"What kind of assignment?" Ahsoka asks tilting her head slightly to the left
"He's been asked to observe the Chancellor and report his findings." Devon says
"Observe? You mean spy?" Ahsoka says
Devon scratches the back of his head with his right-hand.
"Well... yeah. I suppose that's another name for it." Devon says
Ahsoka walks past Devon and Obi-Wan's holograms.
"They told him to spy on the Supreme Chancellor? Why?" Ahsoka asks
"The Senate has allowed the Supreme Chancellor to remain in office long after his term has expired. The Council wants to know what his true intentions are." Obi-Wan says
"Plus, he's been acting very suspicious and secretive, always meeting Anakin in private and not telling anyone, not even the Council. He's hiding something." Devon says
Ahsoka turns around and faces the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master.
"The Chancellor has been a great friend and mentor to Anakin. I can't imagine he is happy about this." Ahsoka says
"No. He's not. He's also been put on the Council, per the Chancellor's request, but he's not technically a Jedi Master." Devon says
"I bet Anakin didn't like that either." Ahsoka says
"He didn't. But, hey, I'd still consider it an honor to be on the Jedi Council." Devon says
"Perhaps it's best that you do speak with him." Obi-Wan says
"And what? Defend the a Council's actions?" Ahsoka says
The female Torgruta turns away once more and crosses her arms.
"I hardly think I'm the best person for that." Ahsoka says
"Ahsoka, the Council isn't always right. That's why, Devon and I, we're asking for your help." Obi-Wan says
"I think we need to be careful with Palpatine. He's not what he seems." Devon says
Before anything else could be said, the door to the throne room automatically opens up and Rex rushes in with urgent news.
"Sorry to interrupt, but there's been an attack." Rex says
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master turn and looks at the female Togruta on their left.
"You had best go." Obi-Wan says
Ahsoka runs ahead and was about to leave, but stops and turns around to her left, looking back at Devon and Obi-Wan.
"Tell Anakin..." Ahsoka says
"We will." Obi-Wan says
"Take care, Ahsoka." Devon says
Ahsoka stares at her friends for a moment, then runs out of the throne room with Rex to investigate the attack.
Returning to the Undercity, Ahsoka and Rex come upon several clone troopers, many of them killed, while there were a few survivors. One clone trooper approaches them with a report on the attack.
"We got ambushed on our way to reinforce the entry port on C-deck." Clone trooper #1 says
"Rex, make sure C-deck is properly fortified." Ahsoka commands
"Yes, ma'am." Rex says
Rex takes his men and goes off to his task while Ahsoka walks toward a wounded trooper named Sterling, who leaning against the metal wall being tended to by a clone trooper on his right. Sterling coughs as the female Togruta approached him.
"Commander." Sterling says
Ahsoka kneels down to the clone.
"I'm here, Trooper. Sterling, isn't it?" Ahsoka says
"Yes. You need to know. Maul, he-" Sterling pants
Sterling coughs some more before continuing.
"...he went right through us, one by one. He was asking about you." Sterling pants
Again, Sterling coughs as he tells the female Togruta more.
"The ARC Trooper, Jesse. Maul realized he was older, somehow, looked in his mind..." Sterling pants
For a third time, the clone trooper coughs from his wounds and places his right-hand on Ahsoka's left-arm.
"...and he took him! He took Jesse alive!" Sterling pants
Ahsoka looks up at the sewer entrance, staring into the tunnel with a calm, yet serious expression. But there was one thing she didn't understand: Why would Maul take Jesse and kill the other clones? What made him so interesting?
Deeper inside the Undercity, Maul stood in a tunnel intersection with two of his loyal followers, Gad Saxon and Rook Kast, who stood behind their leader with both their helmets off.
Gad Saxon was a male Mandalorian who served as commander of the Mandalorian super commandos of Maul's Shadow Collective. Brutal, ruthless, and aggressive, Saxon was a fierce warrior on the battlefield, knowing how to operate blasters and a jetpack with extreme efficiency. He had blond hair, light skin, and gray eyes.
Rook Kast was a female Mandalorian who was also a commander of Maul's Shadow Collective and was intensely loyal to the cause for domination. She had purple hair, fair skin, and blue eyes.
And with them was their captive prisoner, CT-5597, or Jesse for his nickname, who was restrained by Rook Kast with stun cuffs binding his hands.
Jesse was a hard-fighting patriot clone lieutenant who was one of the earlier clones of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Wthout his helmet, he had a shaven head, tan skin, brown eyes, and sported a tattoo of the Republic crest on the left-side of his face.
Maul had his back turned to Jesse, Saxon, and Rook as he stood silent while the clone trooper grunted and struggled against Rook's restraint.
"You're wasting your time. I won't tell you anything." Jesse says
"How charming that you actually believe that statement to be true." Maul says
The rogue Sith Lord chuckles.
"Clones, bred for combat. All part of the plan." Maul says
"What plan? What are you talking about?" Jesse asks
"The plan. The only plan that matters. Not even I was made aware of its grand design, but I played my part. And do you know what happened to me?" Maul says glancing back at Jesse over his left-shoulder
Maul scoffs and holds up his left-hand.
"I was cast aside. I was forgotten. But I survived, and I can thrive in the chaos that is to come." Maul says clenching his hand into a fist
With his eyes glancing to his left, the rogue Sith Lord speaks to his loyal commander.
"Saxon, information is a valuable commodity. See to it that the Prime Minister does not become an asset to our enemy." Maul says
"Yes, my lord." Saxon says nodding his head
Saxon turns to his left and takes his leave, heading down into the tunnel behind him.
"Now, there are some things I need to know, and you're going to help me." Maul says glancing back at Jesse
"We can go round and round in this circle if you want. I ain't telling you anything." Jesse says rolling his head around
Maul turns around to his left and faces the clone trooper, staring at him with a menacing gaze.
"It is not up to you. Your mind will speak, or it will break." Maul says
Reaching out for Jesse's face with his right-hand, Maul used the Force to probe the clone's mind for information. Jesse grunts and shook his head as he suffered from the mental assault, feeling great discomfort and pain. The intensity and power of the telepathic intrusion slowly increased as Maul's hand drew closer and closer, inch by inch to Jesse's face.
"Tell me. Who is this Ahsoka Tano?" Maul asks
Increasing the power of his mind probe even more, Maul presses deeper into Jesse's mind, making him grunt even louder. Saxon continued walking down the tunnel, then puts on his helmet, in which the yellow Y-shaped visor glows to life, setting off for his task, while Jesse's grunts turned into screams, which echoed loudly in the tunnels of the Undercity.
In the depths of space, onboard the Vigilance of the Third Systems Army, Devon and Obi-Wan stood in the hangar bay of the flagship with Commander Cody, who had his helmet off, and several other clone troopers as they stood around the Jedi Master's newly replaced Eta-2 interceptor, which was white and blue, and came with a new astromech droid, R4-G9. They were looking over the hologram of their planetary destination, which was displayed through T7-13's blue photoreceptor. Devon was also given another Eta-2 interceptor that was next to Obi-Wan's on the left, though his was an exact duplicate of the original, having the same metallic silver and blue color. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master both had their arms crossed as they looked over the hologram of Utapau with Cody pointing out a specific spot on the planet with his left-hand.
"Fortunately, most of the cities are concentrated on this small continent here. On the far side." Cody says
"We'll keep them distracted until you get there." Devon says
"Just don't take too long." Obi-Wan says
"Come on. When have I ever let you down?" Cody says
"Very well. The burden is on us not to destroy all the droids until you arrive." Obi-Wan says
Devon and Obi-Wan step up onto the wings of their starfighters and the covers for the cockpits lifted open for them. As soon as they were ready and strapped in, the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master take off and fly out the hangar bay of the Republic Star Destroyer.
"Devon, you read me?" Obi-Wan asks
"Loud and clear, Obi-Wan." Devon says
"Alright. Lock onto my starfighter and follow me." Obi-Wan says
"You got it. Let's go put Grievous down." Devon says flipping a few switches and pressing a few buttons in the cockpit with his right-hand
Devon and Obi-Wan fly their ships up to their Syliure-45 hyperdrive transport rings, which had six accelerator pods, three on both sides of the ring, and connected with them. With their coordinates set for Utapau, the two Eta-2 interceptors accelerate to lightspeed and jump off into hyperspace.
On Mandalore, in the Royal Prison of Sundari, which was a plus-shaped prison suspended from the ceiling of the city's bio-dome with multiple levels going from top to bottom, Ahsoka, Rex, and Bo-Katan walked among the transparisteel cells of the facility until they came upon one that had their prisoner: a Mandalorian named Almec, the Prime Minister of Mandalore and a supporter of Maul, whom they had captured earlier in the siege.
Almec was a large male Mandalorian and a shrewd, corrupt politician who did his best to watch over and represent the interests of Mandalore and its people. He once believed in the pacifist ways of its previous ruler, Duchess Satine Kryze, sister of Bo-Katan Kryze, until Maul took over and declared loyalty to him. He had blond hair, a blonde goatee beard, fair skin, and violet-colored eyes.
Ahsoka, Rex, and Bo-Katan approach the cell, which was guarded by two Nite Owl Mandalorians, who stood at opposite sides of the cell, and the guard on the left opened the door via the control panel on the side as it slides upwards, allowing them entry. The three of them stood before Almec as he sat on a metal bench that stretched from side of the cell to the other, looking up at his visitors with a smirk on his face.
"I'm flattered that you could find the time to see me." Almec says
"What's Maul's plan? How is he going to escape?" Bo-Katan asks
Almec chuckles and rises up onto his feet.
"Maul is not trying to escape because he sees no point in doing so." Almec says
"So, he believes he can defeat us?" Bo-Katan asks
"No, that's not it. For weeks now he's been consumed by a strange sense of dread." Almec says
"Has he mentioned someone named Sidious or Teridax?" Ahsoka asks
"Not that I can recall." Almec says
"You said he wanted Kenobi here. Why?" Bo-Katan asks
"It wasn't just Kenobi he wanted, no. Uh, there were two other people he was interested in." Almec says
"Who are they?" Ahsoka asks
"If only I could remember the names..." Almec says looking off to the left and glancing his eyes back at the trio with a smile
The female Togruta narrowed her eyes at the corrupt politician, then glances at the female Mandalorian on her left to provide some incentive.
"Bo, help him remember." Ahsoka says
Bo-Katan steps forward to rough up on Almec, whose eyes widened and held up his hands in surrender.
"No, wait. It was-" Almec says
Before Almec could say anything else, he is struck by a red blaster bolt that shoots him in the left-shoulder, then another that strikes the other shoulder, causing him to fall against the wall and collapse onto the floor. Everyone quickly turned around and saw Saxon, who was crouched on another catwalk further away, having fired the two shots with a sniper rifle. The Nite Owl guards opened fire on the helmeted assassin with their WESTAR blaster pistols while their leader came out.
"Saxon." Bo-Katan says in a low voice
Saxon quickly got up to flee the prison and Bo-Katan goes off in pursuit. In the cell, Ahsoka kneels down to the fatally wounded Almec and quickly gives Rex an order.
"Rex, get a medic!" Ahsoka says
Rex nods his head and steps out to call for backup through the comms system of his right-gauntlet.
"This is Commander Rex. We have a man down..." Rex says on the comms
While he did that, Ahsoka turns back to Almec.
"Maul had a vision... A dream... The names came to him..." Almec says weakly
"What names?" Ahsoka asks
Lifting his head with the last of his strength, Almec mentioned only two names to the female Togruta.
"Devon... and... Sky... walker..." Almec says
After saying that, the Mandalorian politician dies breathing his last breath and falls forward, collapsing onto the floor, while Ahsoka stares in shock.
Bo-Katan and her warriors pursue Saxon down the cell block, firing their blaster pistols at him, while he ducks down and continues running. Using their jetpacks, the two Nite Owl warriors fly up to Saxon's level and land on the catwalk, firing their weapons. Saxon turns around to his left and returns fire, shooting down one of the Mandalorian warriors, then continues down the catwalk. Upon reaching the end, Saxon jumps off the catwalk and falls to the ground floor, using his jetpack to slow his descent. He then fires the rocket on his jetpack and blows a hole out of the prison.
Bo-Katan jumps down and chases him down a turbolift shaft. They shift to the other side of the shaft, evading an oncoming turbolift as it rises up, then Bo-Katan shoots blades from her right-gauntlet launcher at the wheel of the elevator track, stopping the lift and forcing Saxon to land crouched down on top of it. Bo-Katan drops down on Saxon, kicking the sniper rifle out of his grip, then engages him in hand-to-hand combat. Saxon attacks first with a right punch, only to miss as Bo-Katan ducks down, then throws two more punches, which she catches one with her right-hand and ducks again to dodge the other one. The female Mandalorian goes to strike him with a right punch of her own, but he grabs her and throws her against the side of the shaft. Bo-Katan breaks free by striking Saxon in the head with her left-knee, causing him to stagger backwards. Saxon throws two straight punches, which Bo-Katan dodges leaning her body to the left and ducking down. Then, she delivers a roundhouse kick with her right-foot, knocking Saxon to the other side of the shaft, but he catches himself with both hands.
Looking up, Saxon saw a turbolift descending down toward him from the neighboring shaft. Turning back to Bo-Katan, he activates his jetpack and flies upward, dodging a right-kick from her. Then, he activates his flamethrower at Bo-Katan, while she activates her blue personal combat shield, projected from her right-gauntlet, to defend herself. Saxon dives bombs on Bo-Katan with his right-leg extended and kicks her into the other shaft. She quickly grabs onto the ledge of the shaft and quickly brought out her combat shield again as Saxon assaulted her with his flamethrower until she is caught underneath the descending turbolift, which held a clone trooper and one of her warriors inside. Using her jetpack, she pushes herself against the lift car, putting all power to the thrusters, which causes it to spark with electricity. Soon, the turbolift slowly reaches the bottom and the female Mandalorian touches down on her feet, still putting power to the jetpack until the lift stops with one last jolt that knocks Bo-Katan down.
After having narrowly escaped being crushed to death, Bo-Katan takes off her helmet and pulls the shaft doors open, climbing out from under the turbolift, which opens up for the clone trooper and her one warrior. She runs out along the entrance and looks off to her left, watching as Saxon makes his escape, flying off into the city.
On Coruscant, Anakin was having another vision about Padmé, but this time Obi-Wan and Devon were in it, looking down at the senator as she laid on her back, struggling to stay alive.
"Save your energy." Obi-Wan says
"I can't." Padmé sighs
"Don't give up, Padmé." Obi-Wan says
"Hang in there, Padmé! You're gonna be alright!" Devon says
The vision ends with Padmé sighing her last breath and dying while Devon's voice cries out to her.
"Padmé!" Devon exclaims
Anakin was sitting on the yellow sofa in Padmé's suite when he recovers from his vision and looks over to his right as his wife walks up to him from the suite's entryway, wearing a black dress.
"Obi-Wan and Devon's been here, haven't they?" Anakin asks
"They came by this morning." Padmé says placing her right-hand on her husband's back
Anakin rises up from the sofa and follows Padmé into the bedroom.
"What did they want?" Anakin asks
"They're worried about you. Obi-Wan says you've been under a lot of stress." Padmé says
Anakin sighs.
"I feel lost." Anakin says
Padmé turns around to her left, confused as to what Anakin meant.
"Lost? What do you mean?" Padmé asks
Moving from the doorway, the Jedi Knight walks over to the large window and gazes out at the Galactic City.
"Obi-Wan, Devon, and the council don't trust me." Anakin says
"They trust you with their lives. Even Devon. He trusts you." Padmé says
"Something's happening. I'm not the Jedi I should be. I want more. But I know I shouldn't." Anakin says
Padmé walks over to Anakin and places her left-hand on his right-arm.
"You expect too much of yourself." Padmé says
The Jedi Knight looks upon his wife and wrapped his arms around her slender body, holding her close to him.
"I found a way to save you." Anakin says
"Save me?" Padmé asks
"From my nightmares." Anakin says
"Is that what's bothering you?" Padmé asks
"I won't lose you, Padmé." Anakin says
"I'm not gonna die in child birth, Ani. I promise you." Padmé says
"No, I promise you." Anakin says
Back on Mandalore, Saxon returns to the Undercity of Sundari and enters Maul's den as the rogue Sith was just finishing his conversation with the syndicate leaders of Black Sun, the Pyke Syndicate, and Crimson Dawn: Ziton Moj, a green-skinned male Falleen from the planet of the same name, Marg Krim, a male Pyke from Oba Diah, and Dryden Vos, a male near-human through their holograms. Saxon walks up to Rook on her right, asking about the situation.
"What's going on?" Saxon asks
"Maul just told the syndicate leaders to go into hiding." Rook says
The three syndicate leaders end their transmission with Maul and disappeared one by one with Dryden Vos being the last to leave. Maul sighs and turns to his left to speak to his Mandalorian super commandos.
"You once liberated me from my imprisonment by Sidious and his apprentice. At the time, I thought Dooku was an old fool. But now, now I see he and I are the same. One step behind." Maul says
Maul closes his eyes and sighs.
"The Dark Side has never been stronger." Maul says
"My lord, what does it mean?" Rook asks
Opening his crimson eyes, Maul turns around to his left and faces his followers as he spoke to them.
"Soon... the galaxy will be remade, and in the chaos, we must seize what power we can. It is not the way of your people to hide, in the gutters. If you die, I promise you it will be on the field of battle. And if you die... you will die as warriors." Maul says
The Mandalorians, having felt inspired by Maul's speech, all chattered, shouted, and cheered, raising their hands. Saxon and Rook put on their helmets, ready for the battle that laid ahead.
Meanwhile, up on the surface, the Nite Owls and the clone troopers were evacuating Mandalore civilians from the war-ravaged Sundari. Needless to say, many of the people resented the Republic's presence, grumbling with complaints. Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, and Rex watched the operation from a balcony in the Royal Palace with a few clone troopers and Nite Owl warriors until they moved away and walked back inside together.
"This occupation cannot last much longer. The people will not stand for it. I will not stand for it." Bo-Katan says
"You asked for our help. My men don't want to be acting as a police force." Rex says
"The Republic forces will depart once we capture Maul. Then you will have your opportunity to lead." Ahsoka says
The female Togruta, female Mandalorian, and Clone Commander entered the throne room, where a familiar voice spoke and greeted them.
"I agree." A male voice says
Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, and Rex looked ahead and they saw Maul sitting and slouching on the throne, his right-arm resting on his bent metal right-leg as he awaited their arrival. Jesse was also with him left with only his black skintight suit, kneeling on the left-side of the throne with his hands restrained in binders. Upon seeing him, Bo-Katan drew her blaster pistols and charged at the Sith, firing three green-yellow laser bolts from her weapons. Maul easily deflects the shots away from him, redirecting their flight paths with simple waving gestures of his right-hand telekinetically through the Force. Then, he ensnares the female Mandalorian through the Force with the same hand, lifting her a few feet off the floor and choking her in an almost crushing telekinetic grip.
"My lady, is that any way to treat your rightful ruler?" Maul asks
Maul holds Bo-Katan in place for at least six seconds before he releases her, causing her to drop down on all fours while Ahsoka and Rex rush up to support her.
"And now, as a show of good faith, I return your comrade in arms to you." Maul says
Looking over at Jesse on his left, the rogue Sith waves his left-hand and removes the binders from the ARC trooper's hands, causing them to fall onto the floor with a clattering sound. Traumatized by the ordeal he had went through, Jesse was somewhat hesitant, but he soon stumbles across the room back to his allies.
"Run along. There you go. Back to your brothers." Maul says
Rex places his hands on Jesse as he stumbles over to him.
"Are you all right, Jesse?" Rex asks
"I'm sorry, Commander. I couldn't help it. I told him everything." Jesse says
"It's okay. Rex, get him out of here." Ahsoka says
Rex nods his head and escorts Jesse out of the throne room with his left-hand resting on the ARC trooper's back. As the two clones left, explosions are heard from outside with flashes of blazing light appearing out the large window on their left.
"Uh, one of you might want to deal with that." Maul says
Ahsoka looks at Bo-Katan on her right, insisting that she see to her people's safety.
"You should go. Your people need you." Ahsoka says
Maul rises up from the throne with a sigh and walks down the steps, moving towards the window to take a look outside.
"Don't stay on my account. We'll be fine." Maul says
Bo-Katan was a bit hesitant to leave Ahsoka to deal with Maul on her own, but her Jedi friend urged her to.
"Go." Ahsoka says
The female Mandalorian stares at her friend for a moment, but she soon agrees, putting on her helmet and taking her leave of the throne room. Maul looks out the window with his hands behind his back as Saxon and his forces descend on the bridges of the city and attack the 332nd Company, who had gathered outside the palace, watching as both sides engaged each other in a vicious battle.
"Look at them. So blissfully ignorant." Maul says
"Care to tell me what this is all about? Or would you rather save it for the Council?" Ahsoka asks
The rogue Sith chuckles and turns to his left to face Ahsoka.
"Oh, no, no. You are the one that I wish to speak with. Were you not cast out of your Order?" Maul says
"I left voluntarily." Ahsoka says
"Yes, but you were motivated to leave by the hypocrisy of the Jedi Council. We were both tools for greater powers." Maul says
"I am here to bring you to justice." Ahsoka says
"Justice is merely the construct of the current power base. A base, which, according to my calculations, is about to change." Maul says
"And Darth Sidious and Teridax are behind it?" Ahsoka asks
"They're behind everything. In the shadows, always. But soon, very soon... They will reveal themselves." Maul says
"With your help, the Jedi and Devon can stop Sidious and Teridax before it's too late." Ahsoka says
"Too late for what? The Republic to fall? It already has! You just can't see it! There is no justice, no law, no order, except for the one that will replace it! The time of the Jedi and the Keyblade Wielders has passed. Teridax lies far beyond the reach of any of us. None can reach him. And the Jedi cannot defeat Sidious. But, together, you and I can." Maul says
Ahsoka stood in silence as her eyes glanced down, while the explosions from the battle outside raged on.
"Every choice you have made... has led you to this moment." Maul says
Maul stretches his right-hand out to Ahsoka as an invitation to join him. An explosion shatters the windows of the throne room, sending glass everywhere.
"I will help you. But you must answer one question." Ahsoka says
"You have but to ask." Maul says
"What do you want with Anakin Skywalker?" Ahsoka asks
"He is the key to everything." Maul says
"To bring balance to the Force?" Ahsoka asks
"To destroy. He has long been groomed for his role, as my master's new apprentice." Maul says
"And what about Devon? Why do you want him?" Ahsoka asks
"Like Skywalker, he, too, has been set on a path that will lead him into everlasting darkness. A road that has been paved for him since the very beginning. Even now, the Keyblade Wielder is blindly walking into a trap. Right into Teridax' clutches. He has been groomed for his destiny... as the Dark Lord's most powerful servant. Already, the darkness is eating away at his heart. Soon, it will consume him, and when it does, his power will exceed far beyond any known being in the Universe. Nothing and no one will be able to stop him." Maul says
"You lie." Ahsoka says
"I'm afraid not. In fact, I was so certain of their fates that I orchestrated this war to lure them here with Kenobi to kill them. Thus, depriving both Sidious and Teridax of their prized pupils." Maul says
"I know Anakin. And I know Devon." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka draws her lightsabers and ignites them, spreading her legs and getting into battle stance, holding her shoto horizontally in a regular grip in her left-hand and the other pointed at Maul.
"Your vision is flawed." Ahsoka says narrowing her eyes
Maul narrows his eyes and growls.
"I see the Padawan needs one last lesson." Maul says
Maul draws his double-bladed lightsaber and gets into his battle stance as well, holding his weapon infront of him in his left-hand and the other pulled back. Within moments, the duel between the two Force-Sensitive Outcasts began with Maul making the first move, spinning his lightsaber and advancing towards Ahsoka with right spinning slash. Ahsoka ducks down in dodging the strike and parried with both her lightsabers as Maul swings his right blade down on her. Maul quickly follows up with two quick high and low slashes and two reverse roundhouse slashes, but Ahsoka parried the first two strikes, ducks down to dodge the the third strike, then blocks the fourth with both her lightsabers. Ahsoka swings her shoto with a left slash at Maul, who ducks and spins backwards, and advances on him, attacking with a high right slash from her shoto, a low slash from her lightsaber, both of which is parried, and a left slash with the same lightsaber, though Maul ducks down and spins backwards, countering with a reverse roundhouse slash that she blocks with her shoto. Pressing on the offensive, Ahsoka attacks the rogue Sith with a jumping roundhouse kick using her right-foot, but he ducks down and leans back. Then, she swings her two lightsabers with an overhead strike, which Maul parries, a low right slash with her shoto, and a reverse roundhouse slash with her other lightsaber, which again Maul blocks and swings away to the left and right. Maul counters the last blow with a right-elbow to Ahsoka's face and knocks her lightsaber out of her right-hand, leaving her with just her shoto. The rogue Sith advances toward the female Togruta with two leaping right slashes and a low left slash that Ahsoka parries, and a wide right slash, which she ducks down and evades. Maul twists his body around, attacking Ahsoka with both ends of his lightsaber, but she parried with her shoto and counters with a right-kick across Maul's face, sending him back. Looking over at her lightsaber, which was behind Maul, Ahsoka stretches her right-hand out, ignites it, and pulls the weapon back to her through the Force. Maul sensed the flying lightsaber behind him and quickly leaps up with a spinning right flip, dodging the blue plasma blade as it flies between his metal legs.
"You're lucky Anakin or Devon didn't show up. The way you're fighting, you wouldn't have lasted long." Ahsoka says The female Togruta catches her lightsaber horizontally in a regular grip and she circles around to the right of the rogue Sith with a smirk on her face.
"Oh, you have Kenobi's arrogance." Maul says
"You'll find I have many qualities for you to dislike." Ahsoka says
Making her move first, Ahsoka attacks Maul with a low sweeping right slash and a left downward slash from both her lightsabers, the first Maul leaps back to evade and the second he parries with the right blade of his lightsaber. The female Togruta aims low for the Maul's legs with a right slash from her shoto, but he parries the blow. She switches the grip on her shoto, catching it in mid-air, and advances on the rogue Sith with a downward slash from her shoto, a low right slash from her lightsaber, and another downward slash from her shoto, each blow parried by Maul. Next, she swings her lightsabers at Maul with a left slash, but misses as he ducks down. Then, Ahsoka brings her lightsaber down on the rogue Sith, which Maul parries with the right end of his double-bladed lightsaber. The rogue Sith strikes back with a left-downward slash, which Ahsoka parries with her shoto, then advances toward her with spinning slashes. Ahsoka backflips three times across the throne room, evading the red saber strikes, then blocks the fourth strike with both her lightsabers, holding them vertically. She swings Maul's saber away to the right, causing him to stumble forward, but he quickly turns around with a right slash, which Ahsoka dodges ducking down, and blocks a right diagonal slash with both her lightsabers, putting the two Force-Sensitive Outcasts in a blade lock. Maul grunts as he pushes down on Ahsoka with all his strength, eventually forcing her down onto her back, but the female Togruta breaks away from the clash by kicking the rogue Sith with her right-foot throwing him off, sending him flying through a stained glass panel behind the throne. Ahsoka rises onto her feet, taking a moment to catch her breath, then chases after Maul, jumping outside through the glass panel.
Outside on the city bridge, the battle between the Republic forces of the 332nd Division and the Mandalorian super commandos was taking a turn for the worst. Rex and his soldiers were being pushed back by Saxon and his warriors as they advance and cut through their ranks, firing their jetpack rockets and blasting holes in the clone troopers. But then, the battle quickly shifts over to the Republic's side as Bo-Katan arrives with her Mandalorian warriors, flying in on their jetpacks, followed by clone jet troopers and LAAT gunships, bombarding Saxon and his warriors with rockets and blaster fire. Regaining the advantage, Rex and the 332nd push forward and pursue Saxon as he and his forces fall back.
As the firefight continued, Ahsoka slides down the side of the Royal Palace using her shoto lightsaber and jumps down onto the edge of the structure. With her eyes glancing left and right, she observes the battle for a moment, then looks up at her right and catches Maul climbing up a building.
Down on the battlefield, most of Saxon's forces were defeated with some throwing down their weapons and placing their hands behind their heads as they surrendered while others fled from the Republic forces. With battle now turned against him, Saxon takes cover behind a crashed LAAT gunship and places his left-hand to the side of his helmet as frantically radios Maul for help through the comm system.
"Lord Maul! I need backup! Our forces are falling! We need your support!" Saxon says
High above the city, Maul was walking along the support beams of Sundari's bio-dome when he heard Saxon's distress call and replies through the comlink on his right-arm.
"No. I think not. Any moment my ship will be arriving. Die well, Mandalorian." Maul says
"No! Wait-" Saxon says
The transmission ends abruptly as Maul severs his communication with Saxon, leaving him to his fate. Maul continues walking until he heard the sound of lightsabers igniting and Ahsoka's voice behind him.
"Obi-Wan was right." Ahsoka says
The rogue Sith turns around to his left and saw the female Togruta standing on the support beam with both her lightsabers ignited and held in reverse grip.
"You are difficult to kill." Ahsoka says
Maul narrows his eyes and ignited his double-bladed lightsaber as he turned to face her again. Ahsoka charges at Maul, running across the support beam, and leaps forward with a downward slash with both her lightsabers, which the rogue Sith blocks with the left end of his lightsaber. Shoving her back, Maul attacks Ahsoka with a left downward slash, a right uppercut slash, and a thrusting strike, each of which is parried. Next, he follows up with a left slash, which Ahsoka jumps over, a high left slash, a right uppercut slash, and another left and right slash. The female Togruta parries each blow thrown at her, then leaps up over the Sith with a backflip as he attacks with a wide right slash, landing behind him.
"We could have destroyed Sidious!" Maul says
"Only for you to take his place at Teridax' side!" Ahsoka says
Ahsoka swings the lightsaber in her right-hand with a right slash, which is parried, then a right slash with her shoto, which Maul also parries and swings away to the left. The rogue Sith spins around and advances on the female Togruta with a right slash that she dodges leaping backwards, and a left strike using the same saber that Ahsoka parries with her two lightsabers. Next, he quickly follows up with a right downward and upward slash. Ahsoka blocks the first strike and ducks down to dodge the second before countering with a left-elbow and a spinning right-kick to Maul's face that sent him staggering backwards. Then, she leaps forward and brings her lightsabers down on both sides of his double-bladed lightsaber, putting them in a brief blade lock, which soon ended when Maul shoved Ahsoka back. He then kicks her in the chest with his right-foot, which knocks her off the support beam, but she catches it and holds on as she hangs over the left-side. Suddenly, a light shines down Maul from above through the glass of the dome. It was the spotlight of Maul's ship, which had finally arrived to take him off world. A female voice belonging to the pilot speaks to the rogue Sith through his comlink.
"Lord Maul, we must depart immediately." The pilot's voice says
Breaking away from the duel, Maul runs up the slanted beam on his right and breaks a hole in the dome with a left slash from his double-bladed lightsaber. But before he can make his escape, Ahsoka pulls herself up and leaps toward Maul, attacking him with a somersault slash. Maul held up his light to defend himself, but the surprise attack knocked him down off the slanted beam, causing him to fall onto another. The two Force-Sensitive Outcasts resume their duel with Ahsoka going all out on Maul, attacking him with a high left slash from her lightsaber, a low right slash with her shoto, another right slash with both sabers, and two reverse roundhouse slashes through both sabers, while he parries each blow thrown at him. Then, Ahsoka her right lightsaber with a downward slash that Maul blocks, putting the two of them in a blade lock. They held their ground for three seconds until Maul grabs Ahsoka's right-hand with a tight grip, causing her to drop her weapon, which falls down into the city below. Left with just her shoto, Ahsoka swings down on Maul's hand, but misses as he releases her, and takes another swing at the rogue Sith with a left slash, forcing them into another clash, which again was brief as Maul shoved his double-bladed lightsaber upwards, knocking the shoto out of Ahsoka's grip, leaving her unarmed. Moving backwards and spinning around, Maul cuts the support beam Ahsoka was standing on with a right slash from his lightsaber, causing the beam under her feet to sag and shift from her weight. Then, he leaps over the breach with a somersault and lands on the other side of the sagging beam above Ahsoka, which made it sink even more from his weight.
Down below in the city, the battle of Mandalore was all but won as Rex, Bo-Katan, and their forces had captured Saxon and his surviving warriors, forcing them into surrender. Rex pushes Saxon, who was now without his helmet and restrained, down onto his knees, then looks up to see Ahsoka and Maul above them. Knowing that she would need support to deal with the Sith Warrior, Rex waves his left-hand to his men, ordering them to follow him.
"Come on. Get the gunships." Rex says
Up on the support beam of the bio-dome, Maul extends his left-hand out to Ahsoka, offering her another chance to join him.
"I give you one last chance. Join me... or die." Maul says
"Never." Ahsoka says
Narrowing his eyes, Maul spins his double-bladed lightsaber and advances on Ahsoka, attacking her with a left downward slash, a low right slash, and high right slash. Ahsoka ducks down to dodge the right saber, jumps over the two red blades, then leans her body back, evading the third strike. When Maul proceeds to deliver a left diagonal strike, Ahsoka saw her chance. She grabs the hilt of the double-bladed and throws Maul over her back, sending him over the edge and falling toward the city of Sundari below. Acting quickly, the female Togruta reaches out for Maul with her right-hand and catches him with the Force, leaving him suspended in the air.
"Let me go! Let me die!" Maul says
As Ahsoka maintained her grip on the Sith Warrior, three LAAT gunships fly up on arrival and surround Maul. The side doors of the gunships slide open, revealing Rex and his men along with two Nite Owl warriors ready to capture Maul once and for all. And as she stared down at Maul, Ahsoka told him something else.
"By the way, Maul, Devon sends his regards!" Ahsoka says
As the Republic forces surrounded him, the Sith Warrior wails out in terror, warning everyone of what was coming.
"You're all going to burn! We're all going to die!" Maul screams
Two Nite Owl Mandalorians fire whipcord cables through their right-gauntlets and the cables wrap around Maul's body, restraining him completely as he continued to scream.
"You don't know what you're doing!" Maul screams
Rex fires a stun blast, a ring of blue energy from his blaster carbine that hits Maul in the back, highlighting his body on contact with blue charged particles that overloaded his nervous system in less than a second, silencing his cries as he grunts and groans before falling unconscious. Ahsoka releases her grip on the Sith Warrior and lowers her hand with a sigh, letting his limp body drop, though he was still hanging by the whipcords of the Mandalorian warriors.
"We'll take it from here, Commander!" Rex shouts looking up at Ahsoka
Ahsoka nods her head and the gunships turned around, descending back down towards Sundari, while one stays behind with the female Togruta. Still standing on the edge of the support beam, Ahsoka looks up and gazes at the cracked canopy, thinking about everything that happened, everything that had been, and what could be coming in the near future.
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, Devon and Obi-Wan come out of hyperspace into the Outer Rim and arrive in the Utapau system with the brown-green planet straight ahead of them. Disconnecting from their hyperdrive rings, the two heroes fly their Eta-2 interceptors down towards the planet. Entering the atmosphere, they fly across the rocky plains and descend into one of the sinkholes, arriving in Pau City, the capital of Utapau. The squawking sounds of Dactillions and the yipping of Varactyls filled the air.
Dactillions were reptavian carnivores native to Utapau that were tamed by the locals and used as mounts. They shared avian and reptilian traits such as long wings with thin red membranes, thick blue and purple scaled hides, light-colored eyes that were usually blue or gray, four legs, a long tail with an arrow-shaped tip, and a bicorn beak that sported two pronged horns on the end.
Varactyls were majestic, giant reptavian herbivores native to Utapau, though some specimens found their way to worlds such as Kashyyyk and Belsavis. Like the Dactillions, these creatures were tamed and used as excellent mounts. Varactyls had strong, long strides with four legs, armor-plated skulls with beaked faces and a flexible neck, crests and feathers along their backs, long, powerful tails, five-toed feet, and were incredibly intelligent, loyal, and obedient. Females sported blue and green plumage and skin, while males were mostly dull shades of orange and brown.
Descending hundreds of feet below the sinkhole, Devon and Obi-Wan fly down and land their starfighters onto the spaceport on the Civic Level of Pau City. Unknown to them, a MagnaGuard accompanied by two B1 battle droids watched them from a distance a few levels up above them. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master step out of their ships and a group of six Pau'ans approached them.
The Pau'ans were tall, gaunt humanoids with gray, furrowed skin, bald heads, sunken black eyes in red eye sockets, and sharp jagged teeth. Their long-limbed arms ended in long, pentadactyl hands with an opposable thumb and sharp nails. The Pau'ans had two stomachs and had hyper sensitive hearing, for which they wore special ear-disks to protect their ears.
Although they looked frightening, these near-humans as a society were generally friendly and were more than happy to welcome guests to their often overlooked world. At the front of the Pau'ans was one named Tion Medon.
Tion Medon was a male Pau'an and the Port Administrator of Pau City, who wore a set of crimson floor-length robes with a wide lapel that extended up to the sides of his head, covering his ear-disks, carried a silver walking cane in his right-hand that was fashioned from exotic alloy, and was a welcoming and gracious individual. Flanking him was two male aides, Lampay Fay, Zyn Javeb, and four other robed Pau'ans, who wore similar robes, except for Zyn Javeb, who wore a black robe.
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master bowed their heads to the Port Administrator, who greeted them kindly as he welcomes the visitors to their world.
"Greetings, young Jedi, and young Keyblade Wielder. What brings you to our remote sanctuary?" Tion greets
"Unfortunately, the war." Obi-Wan says
"There's no war here, unless you brought it with you." Tion says
"With your kind permission, we should like some fuel, and to use your city as a base as we search nearby systems for General Grievous." Obi-Wan says
Tion Medon turns left to three Utai mechanics and speaks to them in his Pau'an language, leaning sideways and gesturing his left-hand to the two Eta-2 interceptors.
"Yeit wooze eseit." Tion says in Pau'an
The Utai were short, chubby humanoids who shared a symbiotic relationship with the Pau'ans, having hairless bodies, pale skin, large, oblong heads which sloped backwards, two glassy blackeyesprotruding on thick stalks from their faces, which was small with a puckered mouth, tubby, four-fingered hands and two-toed feet, working as creature handlers for the Dactillions and Varactyls, and mechanics for mechanical work and vehicle and starship repair.
The three short alien humanoids went to work on inspecting and refueling Devon and Obi-Wan's starfighters, dragging along with them a black fueling line from a small green refueling station, while Tion steps closer to the two heroes, speaking to them in a low whisper.
"He's here. We are being held hostage. They are watching us." Tion whispers
"We understand." Obi-Wan says
"Tenth level, thousands of battle droids." Tion whispers
"Don't worry. We'll deal with Grievous and his droid army." Devon says
"Tell your people to seek shelter. If you have warriors, now is the time." Obi-Wan says
With that said, Devon, Obi-Wan and Tion bow their heads to each other and end their meeting. Devon and Obi-Wan went back to their ships while Tion Medon walked away with his entourage. Sitting inside the cockpit of their starfighters, the two heroes gave their astromech droids new orders.
"Take the fighter back to the ship. Tell Cody we've made contact." Obi-Wan says
"T7, head back to the Vigilance, but try to stay in touch." Devon says
Both droids beep in acknowledgment of the tasks they were given.
As they walked back into the city, Lampay spoke with Tion.
"Are they bringing additional warriors?" Lampay asks
"They didn't say." Tion says
The MagnaGuard, who had watched the meeting from its position, left with the two battle droids, walking away into the city, likely to report to Grievous. The two Eta-2 interceptors take off from the landing platform and fly up out of the sinkhole. However, Devon and Obi-Wan were not onboard. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master, who had their hoods up, had hidden themselves in the shadows behind he fossilized bone columns, watching as their droids flew the starfighters back to the Third Army Fleet.
In their hunt for General Grievous, Devon and Obi-Wan visited the pen area of Pau City, where the natives kept their Varactyls and Dactillions, and they took two proud female Varactyls as their mounts to help travel around the city, who immediately became loyal to their new riders.
One named Boga, which Obi-Wan rode, had iridescent green pebbled skin with a blue sheen, orange eyes, and her head and neck fringed with green, blue, and purple feathers. The other Varactyl named Rega, which Devon rode, had light blue skin, orange eyes, and a magnificent crest of blue-purple feathers around her head and neck, going down the full-length of her back and ending at the tuft of her tail.
Boga and Rega sprint out of the pen area with their riders, who held onto the reins of their saddles, yipping loudly. The two Varactyls stopped and snarled as Devon and Obi-Wan pulled back on their reins. Rearing back, Boga and Rega stood up on their hind legs and yipped some more, kicking their forelegs like a horse. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master looked up in the sinkhole and they could see the modified core ship that was the Separatist headquarters up on the tenth level of the city, just as Tion Medon described.
On the tenth level of Pau City, General Grievous spoke with the Seperatist Council in Hangar 10, pacing back and forth infront of the Separatist Leaders, including Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, and Poggle the Lesser, as they sat in their seats of a long curved table. Also with them was Lord Drazor, who stood behind him with his eclectic breath.
"It won't be long before the Keyblade Wielder and the armies of the Republic track us here." Grievous says
Gunray, Haako, and the other leaders shared concerned glances with each other as Grevious continued speaking.
"I am sending you to the Mustafar System in the Outer Rim." Grievous says
Devon and Obi-Wan astride their Varactyls made their way to the tenth level in record time and hide up ontop of the metal catwalks above the hangar, listening to their conversation while Boga and Rega growled, hissed, and snorted softly.
"It is a volcanic planet. You will be safe there." Grievous says
Gunray rose up from his seat and protested against Grievous, having doubts that he could actually keep him and the other Separatist Leaders safe from the Republic, especially after what happened to Count Dooku.
"Safe? Hmph! Chancellor Palpatine managed to escape your grip, General. Without Count Dooku, I have doubts about your ability to keep us safe." Gunray says
"Be thankful, Viceroy, you have not found yourself in my grip." Grievous says
Devon and Obi-Wan dismount their Varactyl steeds and patted their heads with their right-hands as they passed by on their left-sides, causing Boga and Rega to growl and purr softly, while they walked further out along the catwalk and gazed down at the meeting.
"Your ship is waiting." Grievous says
The meeting was adjourned and the Seperatist Leaders rose up from their seats and walked away behind them as they departed from the hangar while Grievous and Lord Drazor turned and walked the other way.
"I must take my leave also. My Master has requested my presence. I must not keep him waiting." Lord Drazor says
Grievous nods his head and Lord Drazor goes on his way, turning to the left and stretching his left-hand out as he opened a dark corridor before stepping inside and leaving the hangar and the planet. As they stood up on the catwalks, Devon leans over to Obi-Wan on his left, wondering about the place that Grievous mentioned.
"Mustafar?" Devon asks
"Another planet in the Outer Rim. Mostly a wasteland of molten rock and lava." Obi-Wan says
"Sounds very hot. Better make note of that so we can capture Gunray and the Separatists afterwards." Devon says
Devon and Obi-Wan continue to gaze down at Grievous as he stood in the hangar with his MagnaGuards.
"But for now, let's introduce ourselves." Devon says
Devon pulls back the hood of his jacket, while Obi-Wan slips out of his brown robe, letting it drop onto the catwalk, and the two heroes jump down into the hangar, landing behind Grievous and his bodyguards.
"Hello there." Obi-Wan says
"'Sup, Grieves." Devon says
Grievous turns around to his left and faces the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master while his four MagnaGuards activate their electrostaffs.
"General Kenobi. And the Keyblade Wielder." Grievous says
All the B1 battle droids, B2 super battle droids, and droidekas in the hangar gather around Devon and Obi-Wan and close in on them with their blaster rifles and weapons pointed at them. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master glanced around at the thousands of droids that surrounded them, then turn back to face the Kaleesh cyborg.
"You are bold ones." Grievous says
Grievous cackles and steps back while his four MagnaGuards moved forward to engage, spinning their electrostaffs.
"Kill them." Grievous says
Devon stretches his right-hand out and summoned his Keyblade: Soul Calibur into his grip in a flash of blue light, swinging it over to his right-side, while Obi-Wan activated his blue lightsaber and held it high up in his right-hand with his left-hand stretched out, two fingers pointed at their opponents. But before the MagnaGuards could reach them, Obi-Wan stretches his left-hand out towards a cargo module hanging from the ceiling and dislodges it through the Force, causing it to drop down and crush three of the MagnaGuards. One crawls out from the right, yelping and whining as it tried to reach for it's electrostaff, but Devon casually walks up to the droid, spinning Soul Calibur in his right-hand four times, and slices the droid's head off with his crystal Keyblade just as it grabbed and activated its weapon. Then, he looks up at Grievous as Obi-Wan comes around to his left.
"We can do this all day until our fleet gets here, Grievous. You gonna man up and fight us yourself, or are you gonna keep hiding behind your droids like the coward you are?" Devon says spreading his arms out before pointing Soul Calibur at the Kaleesh cyborg
The battle droids and droidekas aimed their blasters and prepared to open fire on Devon and Obi-Wan, but Grievous calls them off.
"Back away. I will deal with this slime myself." Grievous says
"Your move." Obi-Wan taunts
"Bring it on, Grieves." Devon taunts
Grievous flicks the left-shoulder of his cloak with his right-hand.
"You fools. I've been trained in your Jedi Arts by Count Dooku." Grievous says
"You may be trained to fight Jedi, but it's nothing compared to fighting a skilled Keyblade Wielder." Devon says
The Kaleesh cyborg coughs and shifts his shoulders and drops his grey cloak to the floor, revealing his skeletal, cybernetic body. Grabbing four lightsabers at his waist, his arms split along their lengths into four and ignites the weapons from his lower left-hand to the other, two green and two blue, holding one lightsaber in each of his four hands. Grievous spins the four lightsabers in his clawed hands and pointed them at the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master.
"Attack." Grievous says
Devon and Obi-Wan smiled and got back into their battle stances.
"Like we said, Grievous, your move." Devon says
Grievous cackles and spins the blue and green lightsabers in his upper hands rapidly in a buzzsaw motion and advances slowly on the two heroes. Devon and Obi-Wan retreated onto a walkway suspended above the lower levels of the hangar as the Kaleesh cyborg continued to approach them, backing away and carefully studying the rotation of the lightsabers. After 16 seconds of waiting, the two heroes saw their their chance.
"Now!" Devon yells
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master thrust their weapons into the swirling energy blades and both sides engaged in a spectacular display of swordsmanship. Grievous swung both his blue and green lightsabers in his lower hands in a closing strike, then follows up with a downward slash with the lightsabers in his upper hands, but Devon and Obi-Wan blocked his attack both times. The cyborg was about to attack again with the green saber in his upper right-hand, but stopped halfway when the Jedi Master leaped over him with a somersault, landing behind him.
Focusing on the Keyblade Wielder, Grievous attacks Devon with all his lightsabers, spinning them in his hands and swinging at the young teen. Devon parried two blows on his right, holding his Keyblade vertically with both hands, then quickly switched to his left as he blocked the green saber in Grievous' lower left hand. The cyborg swings the blue saber in his upper right-hand down on Devon, who immediately held Soul Calibur above his head to the right, and follows up with a right slash from the other blue saber in his lower left-hand, a downward slash from the green saber on the same side, which Devon parried with his Keyblade held to the right and left over his head, and a left slash from the other green saber in his lower right-hand as it spun around at the young teen. Everything moves in slow motion as Devon leaps back, dodging the energy blade, which came dangerously close to gutting him in the stomach, missing him by an inch, and blocking the other green saber on his right with Soul Calibur in his right-hand as it swung down at him. Landing on his feet, Devon quickly held his crystal Keyblade above his head to the left and parried the two lightsabers in Grievous' upper hands as they cleaved down on him, putting the two warriors in a blade lock which lasted only a brief second as Devon countered the attack with a rising backflip kick to Grievous' head using his right-foot and follows up with a reverse roundhouse kick with his left-foot to the cyborg's chest, knocking him back a bit with two steps across the walkway.
Obi-Wan rushed to Devon's aid and swung his lightsaber with a right diagonal slash, only to be blocked by the blue saber in Grievous' lower left-hand. Now turning his attention to the Jedi Master, Grievous attacks him with a left slash from the green saber in his lower right-hand and a right slash from the blue saber in his other lower hand. Both blows are parried by Obi-Wan. Then, Grievous swings the green saber in his upper right-hand with a right diagonal slash, which Obi-Wan dodges, ducking down and spinning backwards. The Jedi Master parries a left slash from the blue saber in the cyborg's upper right-hand and ducks down again as Grievous swings both lightsabers on his left, spinning around him to the right and returning Devon's side. Devon helped block the two lightsabers on their left while Grievous swung his other blue saber at Obi-Wan. Instead of blocking, the Jedi Master intercepted the blow and sliced off the cyborg's lower left-hand, which fell onto the walkway. Grievous groaned and backed away, staring at his smoking, sparking red-orange stump for a moment.
"Ooh... I'll bet that's upsetting." Devon says
Growling in anger, Grievous lunged at the heroes as he attacked them again with his three remaining lightsabers. Devon and Obi-Wan both defended themselves from the cyborg's attacks, parrying strikes from both sides. After another brief bout of fencing, Devon parries the green saber on the left and quickly slices off Grievous' lower right-hand, which fell over the walkway and down into the lower deck below with the lightsaber still in its grip. Left back with just two hands, Grievous swings both his green and blue lightsabers with a right slash at Devon and Obi-Wan, who blocked against the strike with their weapons, putting them into a blade lock, which lasted five seconds until Grievous knocks Soul Calibur and Obi-Wan's blade away with a right strike from his green saber, sending them stumbling back across the walkway with four steps. Grievous spins his two remaining lightsabers in his hands and points them at the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master, getting back into his stance.
Before the duel could proceed any further, the hangar is suddenly filled with shouting and blaster fire as Cody and the 212th Attack Battalion arrived with several clone troopers rappelling down from the catwalks near the outer exit and multiple LAAT gunships hovering outside. Almost instantly, fighting broke out all overPau Citybetween droid and clone forces with assistance on the Republic's side from the Utapau Resistance as Pau'an warriors rode into the fray with their Dactillions and Varactyls. Despite the ambush of the Republic forces, Grievous wasn't the least bit surprised and he turned back to Devon and Obi-Wan, pointing his lightsabers at them as he cackled, ready to continue their duel.
"Army or not, you must realize you are doomed." Grievous says narrowing his eyes
"Oh, I don't think so." Obi-Wan says narrowing his eyes
"I beg to differ, Grievous. You're the one that's finished." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master both pulled their left-hands back and clenched them into fists as they called upon the Force.
"Hnng... Aaah!" Obi-Wan yells
"Haaah!" Devon yells
Thrusting their hands forward, Devon and Obi-Wan hurl Grievous back with a combined telekinetic blast, which sent him flying fast toward another cargo module that hung from the ceiling and crashing against it, causing him to drop his two remaining lightsabers. Grievous plummets down to the hangar floor and lands crouched down on like a spider. Devon and Obi-Wan jump down after him, but the Kaleesh cyborg crawls across the walkway to his wheel bike, which stood on a rotating platform, and flips over backwards into the driver seat.
The Tsmeu-6 personal wheel bike was a Separatist land craft manufactured by the Z-Gomot Ternbuell Guppat Corporation that resembled a giant wheel with four clawed legs hanging from the sides, a driver seat on the left-side, and armed with an Nd-53 double laser cannon on the right-side of the vehicle.
Grievous starts up his wheel bike through the purple control panel with his right-hand and the platform spins around with the vehicle facing Devon and Obi-Wan. Pushing the accelerator, the Kaleesh cyborg speeds forward across the walkway, heading straight for the two heroes, who jump over the left-side and out of the way. Knowing they had to stop Grievous before he escapes, the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master both whistled for their Varactyls, Boga and Rega, who dropped down and landed on two B1 Battle droids on the hangar floor. Devon de-summoned his Keyblade while Obi-Wan deactivated his lightsaber jump down into the saddles of their Varactyls and grabbed the reins.
"Hyah!" Devon yells
"Hyah!" Obi-Wan yells
Boga and Rega yipped and took off, chasing Grievous across the hangar. The Kaleesh cyborg rides across the hangar, running through two clone troopers, and his wheel bike jumps out of the hangar, rolling down the side of the modified core ship. Boga and Rega reach the end of the hangar and they fearlessly jumped out, falling several feet down and landing on the core ship's side. Unfortunately, the jarring impact caused Obi-Wan to lose his lightsaber on the way down, which fell and landed at Cody's feet on a platform down below, who picked it up with his left-hand, then looks straight up, wondering where it came from. As they headed down, Devon holds his left-wrist up to his face, which had a wrist comm, a small square watch with a silver screen of wave frequencies and two silver rectangular buttons on the left-side, given to him since he and Obi-Wan left Coruscant, and speaks into it as he contacted Cody while holding onto the reins of his Varactyl with his other hand.
"Cody! This is Devon! We're on Grievous! In hot pursuit! He's fleeing into the city!" Devon says
"Do you both need any assistance, sir? Should I send some men to follow?" Cody asks
"Negative! Me and Kenobi got him! Keep pressing the attack, and send a message to the Jedi Council. Let them know we've engaged Grievous! Expect an update soon!" Devon says
"Yes, sir!" Cody says
On Mandalore, it was daytime and the battle for the planet was over with the clone troopers taking Saxon and Rook into custody, moving them toward an LAAT gunship. Bo-Katan, who had her helmet off in her right-arm watched as the restrained Saxon and Rook walked past her on her left. Then, the Nite Owl leader turned around to her left and saw another gunship coming in to land. The left-side hatch slides open, revealing Ahsoka with an unconscious Maul behind him, held by the two Mandalorian warriors.
"You actually captured him. I'm impressed." Bo-Katan says
"That is what the Council wanted." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka and Bo-Katan walk together across the bridge.
"Still. You succeeded where many have failed." Bo-Katan says
"I've learned from the best, including you." Ahsoka says glancing left at her friend
"I wish I was good at something other than war." Bo-Katan says
The female Mandalorian walks up to the end of the bridge and looks down at the remnants of Peace Park, a stylized garden terrace built along several rooftops of uniquely designed geometric towers to resemble an island chain, using Sundari's architectural style of translucent glass to symbolize water. At the heart of the park was a raised opaque island and had seating areas along the borders of the rooftop. There was also large stones and bushes, and highly sculpted palm-like trees in non-transparent areas. The park had been built by Duchess Satine as a symbol of peace and pacifism during the Mandalorian Civil War. Now, it stood as a wreckage with charred spots from explosive bombardments and shattered glass rooftops and walls. Ahsoka walks up to Bo-Katan's side and looks left at the Nite Owl leader.
"Your people need a new kind of leader." Ahsoka says
"My sister tried that. I never understood her idealism." Bo-Katan says
Rex, who had his helmet off and in his left-arm, approaches Ahsoka and Bo-Katan with two troopers at his sides, causing them to turn and look at him.
"Commander. I have the Council waiting." Rex says
"And Master Skywalker? Were you able to contact him?" Ahsoka asks taking three steps forward
"He was at the meeting when I left to get you." Rex says
Bo-Katan places her left-hand on Ahsoka's right-shoulder, causing the female Togruta to turn around and face her.
"Go on. I can handle this." Bo-Katan says
Ahsoka stares at the female Mandalorian for at least four seconds, then nods her head and follows Rex as he leads her away to meet with the Jedi Council.
On Coruscant, in the High Council Tower of the Jedi Temple, Windu and Anakin stood together in the Temple Situation Room, which was a large domed room equipped with state of the art tactical displays and HoloNet feeds. In the center of the room was a sunken dias where a large, round blue holotable rested, surrounded by communication stations and holocharts, while large transparisteel windows along the outer walls granted a panoramic view of the cityscape outside. The two Jedi were currently in a meeting with the holograms of Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Aayla Secura, a blue-skinned female Twi'lek Jedi Master stationed on Felucia, who were on the other side of the holomap, when a hologram of Cody appears next to Ki-Adi-Mundi on his left and Aayla Secura on her right, informing everyone about Devon and Obi-Wan's current pursuit and battle with Grievous.
"Master Windu, may I interrupt? Generals Kenobi and Devon has made contact with General Grievous and we have begun our attack." Cody says
"Thank you, Commander." Windu says
After giving his report on Utapau, Cody's hologram disappears as the transmission end. Windu turns to Anakin on his right and gives him his task of reporting the situation to Palpatine.
"Anakin, deliver this report to the Chancellor. His reaction will give us a clue to his intentions." Windu says
"Yes, Master." Anakin says
Anakin takes his leave while Windu and the Jedi Council stood in silence.
Back on Mandalore, Ahsoka and Rex approach a mobile communications unit where inside the holograms of Windu, Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Aayla Secura continued their meeting with their suspicions concerning Palpatine.
"I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi. The Dark Side of the Force surrounds the Chancellor." Windu says
"If he does not give up his emergency powers after the destruction of Grievous, then he should be removed from office." Ki-Adi-Mundi says
"The Jedi Council will have to take control of the senate in order to secure a peaceful transition." Windu says
"To a dark place this line of thought will carry us. Hmm. Great care we must take." Yoda says
Ahsoka and Rex soon enter the room and Windu turns to his right as he faces them.
"I understand your mission was a success." Windu says
"Yes. Maul is in custody. I will escort Commander Rex when he delivers him to Coruscant." Ahsoka says
"A great service you have done for the Republic." Yoda says
"I did my duty as a citizen." Ahsoka says
"Not as a Jedi?" Yoda asks
"No. Not yet. Actually, I was hoping to speak with General Skywalker." Ahsoka says
"I sent him to inform the Chancellor that General Grievous has indeed been located on Utapau." Windu says
"And Master Kenobi and Devon?" Ahsoka asks
"Engaged the enemy they have." Yoda says
A mused expression forms on Ahsoka's face.
"Then the war could be over soon." Ahsoka says
"That depends on the Chancellor." Windu says
"What do you mean?" Ahsoka asks
"I'm sorry, citizen. These matters are for the Council to discuss." Windu says
"I understand." Ahsoka says
The meeting ends with the holograms of the Jedi fading away as they cease transmission with Aayla Secura leaving first, Ki-Adi-Mundi second, and Mace Windu third until Yoda was left. He stayed for a while longer as he looked up at the female Togruta with a concerned expression.
"Ahsoka? More to say have you? A message for Skywalker and Devon perhaps?" Yoda asks
Ahsoka paused for a moment, but she neglected neither as she told Yoda.
"No, Master. Thank you. I'll tell them myself when I see them." Ahsoka says
Yoda smiled slightly and nodded his head as he wished Ahsoka well.
"May the Force be with you, Padawan." Yoda says
And having said that, Yoda ends his transmission and his hologram fades away.
"You didn't tell them what Maul said about Skywalker or Devon." Rex says
"No. I didn't." Ahsoka says looking at the Clone Commander on his left
With their meeting with the Jedi Council finished, Ahsoka and Rex leave the mobile communications unit to oversee preparations for their trip back to the Galactic City with their Sith prisoner.
On Coruscant, Anakin enters the Chancellor's private office, which was off to the right of the main office, and proceeds to give him the news of Devon and Obi-Wan's situation on Utapau. Palpatine, who was observing a red holographic screen, had sensed his arrival and switched off the screen as he turned to his left in his spinning chair to face him.
"Chancellor. We've just recieved a report from Master Kenobi and Devon. They've engaged General Grievous." Anakin says
"We can only hope that Master Kenobi and Devon are up to the challenge." Palpatine says
"I should be there with them." Anakin says glancing down and off to the left
"It's upsetting to me that the council doesn't seem to fully appreciate your talents. Don't you wonder why they won't make you a Jedi Master?" Palpatine asks
Anakin paces left and right infront of Palpatine, feeling more frustrated with the Jedi Council by the minute.
"I wish I knew. More and more I get the feeling that... I'm being excluded from the council. I know there are things about the Force that they're not telling me." Anakin says
"They don't trust you, Anakin." Palpatine says
The Chancellor rises up from his seat and walks with the Jedi Knight, placing his left-hand on his back near his right-shoulder and escorting him out into the connecting anteroom.
"They see your future. They know your power will be too strong to control. You must break through the fog of lies the Jedi have created around you. Let me help you to know the subtleties of the Force." Palpatine says
"How do you know the ways of the Force?" Anakin asks
"My mentor taught me everything about the Force. Even the nature of the Dark Side." Palpatine says
Anakin walks infront of Palpatine and looks at him with a wary expression.
"You know the Dark Side?" Anakin asks
"Anakin... if one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all it's aspects, not just the dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi. If you wish to become a complete and wise leader, you must embrace a larger view of the Force." Palpatine says
Anakin and Palpatine circled around to the left of each other. The tone in the Chancellor's voice grew more sinister as he continued to speak, which caused Anakin to grow even more wary.
"Be careful of the Jedi, Anakin. Only through me can you achieve a power greater than any Jedi. Learn to know the Dark Side of the Force, and you will be strong enough to save your wife... from certain death." Palpatine says
Anakin stops and stares at Palpatine, surprised by what he just heard.
"What did you say?" Anakin asks
"Use my knowledge. I beg you." Palpatine says
It was in that moment that Anakin finally realized. Chancellor Palpatine was actually Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith that everyone had been searching for. The one who engineered the Invasion of Naboo and the Clone Wars. Anakin ignites his blue lightsaber and points it at Palpatine as they resumed circling one another.
"You're the Sith Lord." Anakin says
"I know what's been troubling you. Listen to me. Don't continue to be a pawn of the Jedi Council. Ever since I've known you, you've been searching for a life greater than that of an ordinary Jedi. A life of significance... Of conscience." Palpatine says
Palpatine soon stops and turns away from Anakin with his back facing him.
"Are you going to kill me?" Palpatine asks
"I'd very much like to." Anakin says
"I know you would." Palpatine says
The sinister man feels the darkness that was stirring inside the Jedi Knight.
"I can feel your anger. It gives you focus. Makes you stronger." Palpatine says
Palpatine turns around to his left and faces Anakin, who knew what the Sith Lord was trying to do. He was trying to turn him over to the Dark Side. Remaining loyal to the Jedi Order, Anakin shuts off his lightsaber and decides it best to expose Palpatine's deception and his identity.
"I'm going to turn you over to the Jedi Council." Anakin says
"Of course, you should. But you're not sure of their intentions, are you?" Palpatine says
"I will quickly discover the truth of all this." Anakin says
"You have great wisdom, Anakin. Know the power of the Dark Side. Power to save Padmé." Palpatine says
Back on Utapau, Devon and Obi-Wan continued their pursuit of General Grievous through the streets of Pau City as the battle between the clone troopers and the droid forces raged around them. Grievous raced the two heroes with full speed on his wheel bike, but the two Varactyls Boga and Rega were able to stay on him, matching his speed. On his wheel bike, the Kaleesh cyborg grabs an electrostaff with his right-hand, which he had stowed behind him on his vehicle, ready to fend off the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master.
Eventually, Devon and Obi-Wan both caught up to Grievous with Boga and Rega running up alongside the left-side of the wheel bike. Grievous thrusts the electrostaff at Obi-Wan who managed to grab hold of the shaft of the weapon and wrench it from the cyborg's hands. Obi-Wan attempted to destroy the giant wheel of Grievous' wheel bike with the electrostaff to try and stop it, swinging the weapon three times in its path, but with no luck in doing it. He then attacks Grievous himself, jabbing him in the face with the staff. After being struck, the cyborg managed to regain hold of the staff and yanked it back, pulling Obi-Wan off Boga's saddle along with it. Without her rider, Boga skids to a stop while Devon and Rega stayed on them. Rising up and on the back of his blue Varactyl and holding the reins, Devon got ready to jump as they moved closer to the wheel bike. Once they were close enough, the young teen leaps onto the vehicle, grabbing onto the left-side of Grievous while Obi-Wan wrestled him from behind. Rega skids to a stop while Devon, Obi-Wan and Grievous take off around the right corner on the path.
The Keyblade Wielder, Jedi Master, and the Kaleesh cyborg grunted as they wrestled for control over the wheel bike. Grievous reaches for his custom DT-57 'Annihilator' blaster, which was also stowed on the vehicle with his left-hand and attempted to shoot the heroes, but Devon quickly grabbed it with his and he aimlessly fires off only one shot. Using the electrostaff, Obi-Wan manages to destabilize the wheel bike, causing it to spin uncontrollably. Devon, Obi-Wan, and Grievous are thrown off the vehicle as they arrive at a secret landing platform in another sinkhole, where Grievous' starfighter, the Soulless One, a customized Belbullab-22 heavy starfighter with imperviumalloyarmor, a sensor jamming system, and two rapid fire laser cannons, sat in waiting. The wheel bike topples over the edge, falling several feet down into the hole.
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master recovered quickly and rose onto their feet with Devon summoning Soul Calibur into his right-hand and Obi-Wan grabbing the electro staff and activating it. Grievous also recovered and aimed his blaster at the two heroes, firing another shot. Devon deflected the shot with his Keyblade and knocks the blaster out of Grievous' hand with a left slash. The cyborg swings his left-arm at the young teen, who duck down and counters with an uppercut slash across Grievous' chest, then he swings his right clawed hand at Devon, but misses as he leans his body to the right and counters with a quick right slash to his ribs. Obi-Wan moved up with the electrostaff and attacks with roundhouse jab at the cyborg's torso, a left strike that Grievous blocks with his left-arm, and a reverse roundhouse strike that knocks Grievous over onto his back. Then, the Jedi Master brings the staff down on the cyborg's abdomen, but he kicks Obi-Wan away across the platform, causing him to drop the electrostaff, which clattered on the platform. Obi-Wan falls onto his back while Grievous rises up onto his feet. Devon quickly moved infront of the downed Jedi to defend him and he swings Soul Calibur with a reverse roundhouse slash, but Grievous catches the crystal Keyblade with his right-hand and counters with a strong punch to Devon's stomach, which made him lurch forward with widened eyes.
"Gyaaaah!" Devon exclaims
Devon drops Soul Calibur and falls down on all fours, coughing from the blow. Grievous cackles and grabs the Keyblade Wielder by his back with both hands, lifting him over his head and throwing him over to the left of the platform. Devon falls and rolls over at least four times before stopping on his stomach. Obi-Wan glances his head right at Devon as he tried to recover, then looks back at Grievous. Turning back towards him, Grievous closed the distance with the Jedi Master as he sits up and rises to his feet, and hits him his right-hand, then swings his arm into his chest, sending him flying and into the left-side of his Belbullab-22 starfighter. Obi-Wan slams against the ship on his back, letting out a groan as he fell. Grievous walks up to the Jedi Master, grabs him and lifts him up by his collar, and throws a right punch, only to miss as Obi-Wan leans his body to the left, and punches a dent in the ship's hull. The Jedi Master grabs the metal plates that covered the cyborg's organ sac and rips them open. Grievous gasps in alarm and backhands Obi-Wan with his right-hand, tossing him aside and sending him spinning in the air. He then kicks him in the head with his right-foot, knocking him back down and proceeds to try and stomp Obi-Wan with his feet. Obi-Wan rolls to the right, dodging the cyborg's left-foot and his other foot, then tries to fight back by kicking Grievous' right-leg with his left-foot, but only succeeded in injuring himself against the hard durasteel. Obi-Wan clutches his leg and cries out in pain.
"Aaah!" Obi-Wan exclaims
Grievous cackles and grabs Obi-Wan by his collar, then throws him across the platform. Obi-Wan crashes and rolls over the edge of the platform, but quickly grabs onto it, preventing his fall into the sinkhole. Grievous grabs the electrostaff with his left-foot and and advanced on Obi-Wan.
Finally recoving from the earlier blow, Devon saw that Obi-Wan was in trouble as he desperately hanged onto the edge of the landing platform. Jumping up to his feet, he leaps toward Grievous while his back was turned with Soul Calibur raised over his right-shoulder with a loud battle cry.
"Raaaagghh!" Devon yells
The Kaleesh cyborg turned around to the right and faces the young teen as he swinged his crystal Keyblade. Grievous blocks the attack and countered with a jab to Devon's chest, aiming for his heart. Devon leaned his body to the right and avoided being stabbed and electrocuted by the sharp point of the staff. During his dodge, he kicks the staff away to the left with his left-foot and follows up with a roundhouse slash, but is parried by the cyborg. Grievous shoves Devon back and swings his electrostaff with a wide sweeping right strike, but the Keyblade Wielder dodges the attack with an inverted flip, leaping up with a somersault and performing an inverted flip in mid-air above Grievous and landing behind him. Devon whirls around and swings Soul Calibur with a left slash, but the cyborg turns around to his right and parries the blow, holding his staff opposite of the crystal Keyblade. Grievous attacks Devon with a right swing and a left swing, but he dodges both times ducking down and leaping up with a spinning right flip. Then, Devon swings Soul Calibur with an overhead strike and Grievous blocks against the blow. The two warriors clash in a blade lock, pushing against each other's strength until Grievous headbutts Devon with his mask, leaving him stunned and disoriented. He then swings Soul Calibur away to the left and kicks Devon in the chest with his right-foot, sending him flying off his feet. Devon lands on the floor on his back, close to where Obi-Wan was.
Grievous advanced on Devon as he was slowly recovering, ready to deal the finishing blow. Just as Grievous raised the staff over his head to deliver the fatal blow to Devon, Obi-Wan telekinetically pulls the DT-57 blaster to his right-hand through the Force, aimed at the Kaleesh cyborg, and pulled the trigger, firing a shot that strikes him in the chest, hitting his exposed organ sac. Grievous drops the staff and staggers backwards with two steps. He looks down at his flaming chest, then glances back up at Obi-Wan, groaning. The Jedi Master fires four more shots at the exposed organs while Grievous groaned in pain with each blaster bolt that struck him. The biological components and the fluids inside the sac ignited violently and the cyborg general was incinerated from within, painfully killing him as flames shoot out through the eyes of his mask. Eventually, Grievous falls backwards and collapses onto the floor, killed by his own so-called improvements, now nothing but an empty, lifeless shell.
Devon sits up and stares for a moment, then turns right to help Obi-Wan climb back up to the platform, minding his injured leg. The two heroes walk over to Grievous and gaze down at him.
"So uncivilized." Obi-Wan says tossing the blaster aside
"Yeesh. What a way to go." Devon says
With their mission completed, the Keyblade Wielder lifts up his right-arm and spoke into his wrist comm, contacing Cody with a situation update.
"Cody. This is Devon. General Grievous is down. Repeat, Grievous is down. The battle's ours. Send word back to the Jedi Council on Coruscant."
