In the core world of Coruscant, Anakin meets up with Mace Windu in the Jedi Temple hangar just as he and his fellow Jedi Masters Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin were walking towards an LAAT gunship to pay Chancellor Palpatine a visit.
"Master Windu, I must talk with you." Anakin says
"Skywalker, we just recieved word that Devon and Obi-Wan has destroyed General Grievous. We're on our way to make sure the Chancellor returns emergency powers to the senate." Windu says
"He won't give up his power. I've just learned a terrible truth. I think Chancellor Palpatine is a Sith Lord." Anakin says
The dark-skinned Jedi Master turns to Anakin on his right and looks at him with a surprised expression.
"A Sith Lord?" Windu asks
"Yes. The one we've been looking for. Darth Sidious. The Sith who's allied with Teridax." Anakin says
"How do you know this?" Windu asks
"He knows the ways of the Force. He's been trained to use the Dark Side." Anakin says
"Are you sure?" Windu asks
"Absolutely." Anakin says
"Then our worst fears have been realized." Windu says
Anakin and Windu continue their walk through the hangar.
"We must move quickly if the Jedi Order is to survive." Windu says
"Master, the Chancellor is very powerful. You'll need my help if you're going to arrest him." Anakin says
"For your own good, stay out of this affair. I sense a great deal of confusion in you, young Skywalker. There is much fear that clouds your judgment." Windu says
"I must go, Master." Anakin says
"No." Windu says
Windu turns to his right and faces Anakin.
"If what you've told me is true, you will have gained my trust. But for now, remain here. Wait in the council chambers until we return." Windu says walking infront of Anakin
"Yes, Master." Anakin says
Windu boards the gunship with Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin and the ship takes off from the hangar, heading for Palpatine's office while Anakin watches them go.
On the other side of the galaxy, on the planetary system of Mandalore, Ahsoka and Rex stand on a landing platform with dozens of clone troopers on one side and Nite Owl warriors on the other as Bo-Katan, Ursa Wren, another female Mandalorian warrior who had black hair, brown eyes and tan skin, and six Nite Owl warriors escort Maul, who was encased in a Force-proof Mandalorian sarcophagus, to a Rho-class transport shuttle at the end of the platform, where four clone shock troopers, who wore a red color on their shoulder pads, their lower leg armor, and the center vertical stripe on their helmets.
The Rho-class transport shuttle was a general-purpose vessel that had two slanted wings and a dorsal wing, an elongated hull, and a large cargo pod on the underside of the ventral hull, capable of carrying passengers and supplies.
The prison device Maul was in was a mobile prison cell, standing as a rectangular slab with angled corners that floated slightly off the ground while being moved and had to be pushed manually by its escorts, which in this instance was two Nite Owl warriors. It was grey on the outside, decorated with a bas-relief of Mandalorian warriors fighting Jedi with prominent depictions of Mandalorian helmets. At the top center of the door was a clear window that showed Maul inside, but allowed him to see outside as well. On the left-side were four orange control buttons, one positioned above the other, which opened the cell and released the prisoner. The cell's interior was grey with illuminated circuitry that glowed bright orange while active and contained a recess shaped to hold a humanoid with two arm and leg holes, and a spot for the prisoner's head. Wrist restraints prevented Maul from moving his hands and a rigid gag was placed over his mouth, which prevented him from speaking.
Bo-Katan walks over to Ahsoka and Rex takes her place as he escorted their Sith prisoner into the cargo pod of the shuttle.
"Impressive. I suspect even Maul couldn't get out of there." Ahsoka says
"A relic of a bygone era when Mandalorians had reason to imprison you Force-wielding maniacs." Bo-Katan says
"I thought your sister outlawed such devices." Ahsoka says
"She did. This is the last one." Bo-Katan says
The two watched as Maul was brought onboard the shuttle, then Ahsoka moves infront of Bo-Katan and turns to face her. Ahsoka and Bo-Katan shake hands as the Nite Owl leader bids farewell to her friend.
"Goodbye, Ahsoka Tano." Bo-Katan says
Ahsoka nods her head and turns around to her left, walking toward the shuttle and boarding it. The ramp to the pod lifts up and closes and the shuttle lifts off from the platform, turning to the left and ascending into the atmosphere and into space, heading for the Republic Star Destroyer Tribunal.
Inside the pod, enclosed in the sarcophagus, Maul watches with heavy breaths as Ahsoka speaks with Rex, though he couldn't hear anything since the cell was soundproof. He soon closes his eyes, drifting into his thoughts, while Ahsoka glances right at him with an intense look in her eyes.
The transport shuttle makes its approach to the Tribunal and descends down into the docking hangar with its four flat landing gears extending downward. Dozens of clone troopers stood in file and at attention as the ship touches down. The cargo pod opens up and Ahsoka walks down the ramp and into the hangar with Rex, stopping at the bottom and watching as two clone shock troopers take their prisoner away with four more troopers joining them.
Walking through the halls of the detention level, the clone shock troopers escort Maul into a cell and place him inside, then step out and close up the cell with the trooper standing by the doorway pressing a few buttons on the door controls and activating the red ray shields.
Ahsoka and Rex walk into the bridge of the Republic Star Destroyer and clone officers salute them as they pass them by They stop at the end of the bridge and the Tribunal jumps into hyperspace.
On Coruscant, in the senate apartment complex, Padmé sat on the yellow sofa in the main room of her suite, appearing worried and concerned for her lover. She soon rises up from her seat and walks over to the large window of the room, gazing out at the Jedi Temple as it stood far out in the distance.
In the Jedi Temple, Anakin sits in the High Council Chamber in his seat as he waited patiently for Windu and his team to deal with Palpatine. As he did, he heard Palpatine's voice speaking to him.
"You do know, don't you? If the Jedi destroy me, any chance of saving her will be lost." Palpatine's voice says
Anakin felt lost and confused, torn between his loyalty as a Jedi and his love for Padmé. Rising up from his seat, the Jedi Knight walks over to the window on his left, gazing far out at the cityscape, directly at the apartment building where his wife was. Both sides stared for a good long while, as though they were looking directly at each other. Soon, Anakin turns away from the window, while on Padmé's side the senator turns to C-3PO on her right as he walks up to her.
Night has fallen as Anakin finally decides to head for the Chancellor's office to stop the Jedi strike team from doing anything drastic. The young Jedi couldn't bear to let Palpatine meet his death at the hands of the Jedi. At least, not before learning the secrets of Darth Plagueis to save Padmé from death. And so, Anakin heads down to the temple hangar and runs out along the landing platform as it extends out the hangar opening. He climbs into his DC0052 airspeeder and starts up the engines. The cockpit closes and he lifts off from the landing pad.
Over at the Republic Executive Building, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin arrive and enter Palpatine's private office, while the Chancellor turns right in his spinning chair to face the four Jedi.
"Master Windu. I take it General Grievous has been destroyed then." Palpatine says
Windu stops infront of Palpatine and stands before him with Kit Fisto on his left, and Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar on his right.
"I must say, you're here sooner than expected." Palpatine says
"In the name of the Galactic Senate of the Republic..." Windu says
Windu reaches for his lightsaber clipped to the left-side of his waist and ignites it with its purple energy blade extending out. Kit Fisto followed his example and ignites his green lightsaber while Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin ignite their blue lightsabers.
"...you're under arrest, Chancellor." Windu says
"Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?" Palpatine asks
"The senate will decide your fate." Windu says
"I am the Senate!" Palpatine growls
"Not yet." Windu says
Palpatine rises from his chair and a golden lightsaber is deployed from his sleeve, falling into his right-hand.
"It's treason, then." Palpatine says
Palpatine ignites his red lightsaber and hurls himself at the Jedi with a ferocious, inhuman, animal-like snarl, leaping over his desk with a right spinning flip and speed that belied his age. The Sith Lord lands infront of the Jedi Masters, pulling his lightsaber back to his right-side with a grunt before impaling Agen Kolar through his abdomen, who fell with a scream. Saesee Tiin raises his green lightsaber over his right-shoulder to strike Palpatine from behind, but he turns around to his right and slices him across the torso, causing him to fall with a scream. With two Jedi Masters dead, Palpatine turns to Windu and Fisto. He attacks Windu with a thrusting strike, but Fisto moves infront of him and knocks the red blade away to the right with a swing of his green lightsaber. Windu fights back with a downward slash, but Palpatine parries his blow and spins around to the right and attack Fisto with a left slash, who parries his blow. Windu spins around Palpatine to the left and strike him from one side, while Fisto attacks from the other, but the Sith Lord parries both their strikes. Then, he cuts down Fisto with a left slash across the chest.
Now, only Windu was left to face the Dark Lord of the Sith alone. Windu swings his purple lightsaber with a downward slash, only to be parried by Palpatine, who turns to his right and holds his red lightsaber above his head. The dark-skinned Jedi Master follows up with a left and right slash, but is parried both times. Windu moves around Palpatine to the left and retreats into the connecting anteroom. Palpatine attacks with a thrusting strike, which Windu swings away to the left, and quickly follows up with a left slash and a high left slash, which Windu blocks and dodges ducking down. Moving into the Chancellor's main office, Windu swings the red blade away to the right and strikes back with a right slash, but Palpatine spins around and parries the blow before assaulting the Jedi Master with more strikes, attacking with a right and left slash, high and low. Windu parries both strikes, then jumps back as Palpatine aims for his waist with a reverse roundhouse slash. The Sith Lord spins his lightsaber around with a left slash that the dark-skinned Jedi knocks away and counters with a left slash of his own, which Palpatine parries holding his lightsaber vertically downward. Palpatine spins around to the right and attacks Windu with a right slash, but is parried as Windu holds his lightsaber behind his back before spinning around to the left with a downward strike and swinging it away to the right. The Sith Lord goes to attack him again with a downward slash, but the Jedi Master blocks the blow and grabs his arm, pulling them both into a blade lock.
Outside, Anakin arrives at the Executive Building, touching down at the docking level of the entrance. The cockpit of his airspeeder lifts open and the Jedi Knight jumps out and runs into the cavernous atrium.
In the Chancellor's main office, Windu and Palpatine's duel continued as both Jedi Master and Sith raised their lightsabers over their heads. Palpatine attacks first with an over and underhand strike, but is parried by Windu. Turning around to face him, Windu goes on the offensive and strikes back with a roundhouse slash, a left slash, and an upward strike, but Palpatine parries his blows. Continuing his steady assault, the dark-skinned Jedi Master swings his lightsaber with a left slash, which the Sith Lord dodges, jumping away onto the holoprojector behind with a backflip, a left slash, which is parried, and a right slash, also parried as Palpatine jumps off the holoprojector with a left somersault. The duel proceeded as Windu forces Palpatine up the stairs towards the bay window with a downward slash, a low and high right slash, and a reverse roundhouse slash. The Sith Lord parries his blows and ducks down as he dodges a right slash from the Jedi Master, causing him to miss and shatter the transparisteel window. Wind blows into the office, howling as Windu and Palpatine move out onto the ledge.
Again, Windu strikes, attacking with a left slash, which Palpatine ducks down and blocks, moving to the other side. With a snarl, Palpatine swings his red saber with a downward slash and a thrusting strike at Windu, who parries both blows and spins around to the right. After a brief flurry of bladework, Windu ends the bout with a swift, precise right-kick to Palpatine's jaw, throwing him off balance and causing him to drop his lightsaber, which flew out the window.
Palpatine staggers and falls backwards, crawling away from Windu as advances and points his purple lightsaber at him, retreating against the window frame. In that moment, Anakin runs into the office just in time to see the confrontation. But having arrived too late to see the Sith Lord's intent, he saw a helpless Chancellor at the mercy of the Jedi Master, who held his purple lightsaber at his throat.
"You are under arrest, my lord." Windu says
Windu looks over to his right and saw Anakin as he approached and held out his left-hand, stopping him from moving any closer. Palpatine looks up at Anakin as he stood on his left.
"Anakin, I told you it would come to this. I was right. The Jedi are taking over!" Palpatine says
"The oppression of the Sith will never return. You have lost." Windu says
"No. No. No! You will die!" Palpatine yells
The Sith Lord thrusts his hands forward and hurls a blast of Force lightning through his fingers at Windu, who blocks the electric attack with his lightsaber, holding it horizontally to the left with both hands.
"He's a traitor!" Palpatine yells
"He is the traitor!" Windu yells
Groaning with exertion, Windu directs the lightning bolts back at Palpatine, which hits his face multiple times, deforming and disfiguring his face hideously from the Dark Side energy emanating from the lightning, yet he continued to uphold the barrage, even as he calls out to Anakin beside him.
"I have the power to save the one you love. You must choose." Palpatine says
"Don't listen to him, Anakin!" Windu yells
"Don't let him kill me." Palpatine says
Anakin looks on at the scene, uncertain whether to maintain his loyalty to the Jedi Order, or join the Sith. The electrical current continued to ravage Palpatine's body.
"I can't hold it any longer. I-I-I-I can't. I-I-I'm weak. I'm-I'm too weak. Anakin!" Palpatine says
Eventually, the Force lightning subsides and Palpatine drops his hands.
"Anakin, help me!" Palpatine says
Regaining control, Windu points his lightsaber back at the Sith Lord, whose visage was now heavily deformed. His skin had turned deathly pale, flesh sagged from his bulging forehead and around his eyes, which were now burning yellow with blood-red rims, his teeth turned yellow and rotten, and his fingernails grew long and dirty. Palpatine feigned exhaustion as an old man and begged for mercy.
"I-I-I can't hold on any longer." Palpatine says
"I'm going to end this once and for all." Windu says
"You can't. He must stand trial." Anakin says
"He has control of the senate and the courts. He's too dangerous to be left alive." Windu says
"I'm too weak. Oh. Don't kill me. Please." Palpatine begs
"It's not the Jedi way. He must live." Anakin says
Windu glares down at Palpatine and shook his head. He knew the Sith was pretending and he would not be fooled.
"Please. No." Palpatine says
"I need him!" Anakin says
Ignoring Anakin, Windu raises his lightsaber as he prepares to deal the finishing blow, while Palpatine begged louder for mercy.
"Please don't!" Palpatine begs
"No!" Anakin yells
Reacting in despair, Anakin activates his blue lightsaber and cuts off Windu's hand as he swings his lightsaber down. Windu clutches his right-arm and screams in agonizing pain while his lightsaber plummets out the window. An evil grin forms on Palpatine's face and he seizes the opportunity, thrusting his hands forward and electrocuting the helpless dark-skinned Jedi Master with another blast of Force lightning.
"Power!" Palpatine yells
Now, Windu screams from the pain of the electric attack as he is violently electrocuted with his skeletal system glowing underneath his dark skin. Anakin turns away slightly and shields himself from the scene with his right-arm.
"Unlimited power! Aaaaaaah!" Palpatine yells
Eventually, Windu is blasted out the window and he falls to his death hundreds of stories below. Palpatine lowers his hand and falls back with a sigh, then looks left at Anakin, who was now horrified by his actions.
"What have I done?!" Anakin asks in horror
Anakin falls back and sits onto a holoprojector behind him, dropping his deactivated lightsaber onto the floor.
"YOU ARE FULFILLING YOUR DESTINY, YOUNG SKYWALKER." A dark voice says
A dark corridor opens up to the left of Anakin and both Lord Thanatos and Lord Drazor, who stood next to his master on his right, step out into the office. The Jedi Knight looks up at the three villains as they stood before him.
"WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU. I KNOW THAT WE WILL ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS TOGETHER." Lord Thanatos says
"You have done well, Anakin. Become my apprentice. Learn to use the Dark Side of the Force." Palpatine says
Knowing now he had no choice since he had contributed to Mace Windu's death, Anakin submitted himself to the villains.
"I will do whatever you ask." Anakin says
A sinister smile forms on Palpatine's face.
"Good." Palpatine says
"Just help me save Padmé's life. I can't live without her." Anakin says
The Sith Lord breathes with a raspy voice before speaking to his new apprentice.
"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved, but if we work together, I know we can discover the secret." Palpatine says
Anakin got down onto his knees and swore his allegiance to his Sith Master.
"I pledge myself... to your teachings." Anakin says
"Good. Good." Palpatine says
Palpatine closes his eyes for a moment as he sensed the Force inside Anakin. With his raspy breath and a soft growl, the Sith Lord opened his eyes and spoke as he looked down on his apprentice.
"The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth... Vader." Palpatine says
"Thank you, my Master." Vader says
"Rise." Palpatine says
The newly annointed Sith rises to his feet and Palpatine walks back over to his desk, passing Lord Thanatos and Lord Drazor.
On Kashyyyk, as the battle rages on, Yoda leans against a metal column on the command post on his left as he senses a great disturbance in the Force, letting out a sigh as he felt great pain.
Back on Coruscant, Palpatine walks back over to his desk with Lord Thanatos, putting on a black cloak, while Lord Drazor stood alongside Vader on his right, and discusses what must be done now about the Jedi.
"Because the council did not trust you, my young apprentice... I believe you are the only Jedi with no knowledge of this plot. When the Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder learn what has transpired here, they will kill us, along with all the senators." Palpatine says
"I agree. The council's next move will be against the senate." Vader says
The Sith Lord lifts the black hood of his cloak over his head as he and Lord Thanatos turn to their left and look back at their pupils.
"Every single Jedi, including your friends, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Keyblade Wielder Devon, is now an enemy of the Republic." Palpatine says
"Yes, Master." Vader says
"We must move quickly. The Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, it will be civil war without end. First, we want you and Lord Drazor to go to the Jedi Temple. We will catch them off-balance. Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the Dark Side to save Padmé." Palpatine says
"What about the other Jedi spread across the galaxy?" Vader asks
"Their betrayal will be dealt with." Palpatine says
Palpatine sits down in his chair with Lord Thanatos standing by him on his left while Lord Drazor stands alongside Vader on his right across from their masters on the other side of the desk.
"After you have killed all the Jedi in the Temple, go to the Mustafar System. Wipe out Viceroy Gunray and the other Separatist leaders. Once more, the Sith will rule the galaxy! And... we shall have... peace." Palpatine says
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, as the Tribunal travels through hyperspace, Ahsoka stares out into the blue tunnel, deep in thought. Rex notices the concern in the female Togruta as she stood on his left and speaks to her.
"Something on your mind?" Rex asks
"As a Jedi, we were trained to be peacekeepers, not soldiers. But all I've been since I was a Padawan is a soldier." Ahsoka says
"Well, I've known no other way. Gives us clones all a mixed feeling about the war. Many people wished it never happened. But without it, we clones wouldn't exist." Rex says
Ahsoka turns and looks at Rex with a smile on her face.
"Well, then perhaps some good has come from all of it. The Republic couldn't ask for better soldiers, nor I a better friend." Ahsoka says
Rex smiles back and Ahsoka gives him a soldier's salute with her right-hand, which he returned back at her. Their moment was soon interrupted by a clone officer, who approaches them from behind, calling for Rex specifically.
"Commander Rex, the latest briefing has come in." The officer says
"Want to have a look? It might have an update on General Kenobi and Devon's efforts." Rex asks looking back at Ahsoka and pointing behind him with his right-thumb
"You go. I'm sure it's more good news." Ahsoka says
Rex turns and walks past the officer as he follows him into the briefing room, while Ahsoka turns back and gazes out into hyperspace.
On Utapau, Devon and Obi-Wan, after having defeated General Grievous, walked back along the path that they took in their chase and approached their two Varactyls, Boga and Rega, who growled, snarled, and snorted softly, sitting on their haunches as they waited patiently for their riders.
"Well, that takes care of Grievous." Devon says
"Now we just need to wrap things up here." Obi-Wan says
"Right. Then, we can focus on finding Darth Sidious and capturing Nute Gunray and the Separatist Leaders." Devon says
Devon and Obi-Wan climb up into the saddles of their Varactyls and the Jedi Master was the first to take off, snapping the reins of his saddle.
"Hyah!" Obi-Wan yells
Boga yips and sprints off down the dirt path. Devon grabbed the reins and was about to follow when he suddenly gasps, closing his eyes and grunting in pain.
"Gnh!" Devon grunts
The Keyblade Wielder holds the temple of his head with his left-hand while putting his other hand on Rega's back to hold himself up. Like Yoda on Kashyyyk, he could also feel the massive disturbance pulsing through the Force.
On the Republic ship Tribunal, in his cell in the detention level, Maul's eyes snapped open as he, too, felt the disturbance in the Force, hearing the sound of a lightsaber igniting. On the bridge of the Star Destroyer, Ahsoka likewise felt the disturbance as she stares out into the blue tunnel of hyperspace.
On all three sides, Devon, Ahsoka, and Maul heard the sounds of the duel on Coruscant and the voices of Anakin, Mace Windu, and Palpatine as they echoed in their minds.
"You must choose." Palpatine's voice says
"Don't listen to him, Anakin!" Windu's voice says
"It's not the Jedi way. He must live." Anakin's voice says
"He's too dangerous to be left alive." Windu's voice says
"Please don't." Palpatine's voice says
"I need him!" Anakin's voice says
"Please don't!" Palpatine's voice says
"No!" Anakin's voice says
Next, they heard Windu's screaming and the crackling of Palpatine's Force lightning. Ahsoka holds her head with her left-hand while trying to stay up on her feet.
"Unlimited power! Aaaaaaah!" Palpatine's voice yells
A few seconds later, Devon and Ahsoka heard Anakin's voice, who sounded emotionally distraught.
"What have I done?!" Anakin's voice says
Ahsoka opens her eyes as she heard her master's voice.
"Anakin?" Ahsoka whispers
On Utapau, Devon was bent over Rega's back, panting for breath as he slowly recovered. He soon sat upright in his saddle with a concerned expression as he tried to process what had just occurred. For him to feel such a massive disturbance in the Force, it was clear that something terrible had happened. He knew he heard Anakin's voice. Did something happen to him back on Coruscant? There was no time to worry about it now. He and Obi-Wan had a battle to win and a planet to liberate. And the sooner they do it, the better. Focusing back to the task at hand, Devon grabs the reins and speaks to his Varactyl.
"C'mon, Rega. Let's catch up with Obi-Wan. Hyah!" Devon says
With a snap of the reins, Rega takes off and runs down the path, yipping loudly. Although he kept his focus to the ongoing battle of Utapau, Devon wondered how Ahsoka was doing on her mission, and if she had felt the same thing he did.
On Coruscant, a massive raid on the Jedi Temple was about to begin as thousands of clone troopers from the 501st Legion marched in rows of seven up the wide surface-level avenue of Processional Way and up the ceremonial staircase that led up to the building. At the front leading the army was Lord Drazor, the Dark Knight, and Darth Vader, the Sith Lord to his left.
Back on Utapau, the fighting between the clone and the droid forces continued as LAAT gunships and Dactillion riders from the Utapau Resistance laid waste to the droids. Despite the loss of General Grievous, the droid army tried to hold the advancing Republic forces at bay as they established forwarding points on different levels of Pau City.
Devon and Obi-Wan made their way back to the battle, riding their Varactyls through the streets, passing AT-TE walkers, several clone troopers, and red and blue blaster fire. A B1 battle droid opens fire on the two heroes with its blaster rifle from a walkway a few feet above them across the street, but was gunned down by a clone trooper. Soon, the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master reach Commander Cody as he stood with several clones and an LAAT gunship, which dropped off some more troopers before taking off into the air. Boga and Rega slide to a stop infront of Cody, who turns to his left upon their approach, taking off his helmet, and Obi-Wan gives him new orders.
"Commander, contact your troops. Tell them to move to the higher levels." Obi-Wan says
"Very good, sir." Cody says
The clone commander was about to walk away to his task when he turned back to the Jedi Master, remembering something.
"Oh, by the way, I think you'll be needing this." Cody says holding up Obi-Wan's lightsaber in his right-hand
Obi-Wan takes back his weapon with his left-hand and clips it back onto his belt.
"Thank you, Cody. Now, let's get a move on. We've got a battle to win here." Obi-Wan says
"Yes, sir." Cody says nodding his head
Cody places his helmet back on while Devon and Obi-Wan look back at their Varactyls and snap the reins.
"Hyah!" Obi-Wan yells
"Hyah!" Devon yells
Boga and Rega both yipped loudly and they take off running toward a path in the cliffside, passing through a metal archway as Devon and Obi-Wan ride them towards the Separatist command headquarters on the tenth level. Just as the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master ride their Varactyls up the cliffside, Cody received a transmission as his holocommunicator beeped. The clone commander takes out his communicator from a pouch on the left-side of his utility belt and answers the call. The holograms of Lord Thanatos and Palpatine appear on the projector as the Sith Lord speaks.
"Commander Cody..." Palpatine says
The transmission came from Palpatine's private office as the Sith Lord stood infront of a holoprojector with the Dark Keyblade Master standing alongside him on his left.
"The time has come. Execute Order 66." Palpatine says
Upon hearing that phrase, something inside the clone commander changed and he obeyed the Sith Lord's order.
"Yes, my lord." Cody says
Cody ends the transmission and puts away his holocommunicator, then looks up at Devon and Obi-Wan as they and their Varactyls were already far up along the cliffside. Glancing back over his right-shoulder, he orders an AT-TE walker to open fire on his former generals.
"Blast them!" Cody commands pointing with two fingers
The AT-TE takes aim at Devon and Obi-Wan and fires its main cannon, shooting a blue bolt across the sinkhole. The blast strike nearly hits the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master, striking the ground infront of them, just as they were about to reach the modified core ship. Devon and Obi-Wan, along with their Varactyls Boga and Rega, who yipped loudly almost like a scream, fell backwards off the cliffside, and plummeted dozens of feet through the air into the depths of the sinkhole before crashing into the waters below.
Within moments, Order 66 was issued to clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic throughout the galaxy. It's directive: Eliminate all Jedi across the galaxy, including the Keyblade Wielder Devon.
Mygeeto, a frigid, crystalline, snow-covered planet located in the Albarrio sector in the Outer Rim Territories, locked in a giant ice age with polar climates and snow storms.
Here, Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi was currently engaged in heavy fighting, deflecting blaster bolts as he led clone troopers from the 21st Nova Corps across the bridge spanning two city blocks toward the city where the Banking Clan's droid forces of B1 and B2 battle droids, DSD1 spider droids, Octutarra tri-droids, NR-N99 droid enforcers, and Multi-troop transports were entrenched. The vast cityscape laid in burning ash-filled ruins and the battlegrounds were coveted in sleet and snow. After deflecting several blaster bolts with his blue lightsaber, Ki-Adi-Mundi turns to his left and looks back at his clone troopers behind him.
"Come on!" Ki-Adi-Mundi yells waving his left-hand
Turning back towards the droid forces, the Jedi Master raises his lightsaber over his head and leads the charge. The clone troopers followed him until they stopped upon receiving Order 66 and aimed their blasters at their former general. Ki-Adi-Mundi turned back to his right as he heard weapons cocking behind him and looked at his soldiers in surprise as they aimed their blaster carbines at him. Within moments, the clone troopers opened fire on the Jedi Master. Ki-Adi-Mundi deflected a few shots, killing three of the clones, but was soon shot in the gut, causing him to lurch forward, then another bolt strikes him in the chest, which made him drop his lightsaber. Three more bolts followed, striking the Jedi Master's body, the fifth shot landing on his left-shoulder, causing Ki-Adi-Mundi to flip and fall over on his stomach.
Felucia, a lush, humid, tropical planet in the Thanium sector of the Outer Rim, overrun with thick, colorful jungles of unique fungi species.
Here, Jedi Knight Aayla Secura led clone troopers from the 327th Star Corps through the wild underbrush as they moved to engage the Separatist droid forces as 0G-9 homing spider droids and AATs advanced, gathering in a clearing directly ahead of them. But before the full-scale combat could begin, the clone troopers recieved Order 66 and focused their attention on their Jedi General. Aayla noticed her soldiers aiming their weapons at her as she glanced back at her soldiers that surrounded her. And before she could even ignite her lightsaber, the blue-skinned Twi'lek was shot in the back by the clone commander and she fell forward onto the ground while the rest of the troopers closed in and opened fire on her body with continuous blaster fire.
On Kashyyyk, Yoda felt the deaths of his fellow Jedi through the Force, including Ki-Adi-Mundi and Aayla Secura, and he drops his cane, which clatters onto the wooden floor. The small green alien places his right-hand over his chest, then onto his head as he falls down to his knees.
Cato Neimoidia, the wealthy colony world of the Nemoidians like Nute Gunray and the base of operations for the Trade Federation. Much of the planet was covered in a persistent fog, while bridge cities were suspended above the planet's stormy, geyser-spouting acidic oceans on bridges anchored on massive giant rock arches, cliffs, and canyons upon which forests and grasslands thrived.
Jedi Master Plo Koon flew his blue and white-striped Delta-7 Aethersprite light interceptor across the skies of Cato Neimoidia on a patrol flight with two ARC-170 starfighters after winning the battle and capturing the planet. His wingman, clone trooper captain and pilot CT-55/11-9009 or Jag was right behind Plo Koon when he received Palpatine's transmission as his and Lord Thanatos' hologram appeared from a holoprojector infront of him.
"Execute Order 66." Palpatine says
The transmission ends with the holograms of the two villains fading away and the clone pilot obeyed without hesitation.
"It will be done, my lord." Jag says
Jag adjusted his starfighter and opened fire on Plo Koon's ship. Inside the cockpit of his fighter, the Jedi Master looked around in confusion. Before he could attempt any evasive maneuvers, the green blaster bolts of Jag's ARC-170 hits the right-wing of Plo Koon's interceptor, causing it to spin out of control. The Jedi starfighter explodes in mid-air, killing the Jedi Master instantly, and the remnants of the Delta-7 interceptor crashed into a building in the bridge city.
Saleucami, a dim, temperate world in the Suolriep sector of the Outer Rim with a hot climate and a mix of environments like scattered oases, arid deserts, mountains, caves, and swamps.
Stass Allie was assigned to Saleucami for a mop up operation, riding her 74-Z speeder bike with two other clone troopers from the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps, who were riding BARC speeder bikes, as she was to locate materials and information leftover from the Siege of Saleucemi, which the Republic won.
The 74-Z speeder bike was a vehicle used for scouting and reconnaissance and was the longest speeder bike models produced by the Aratech Repulsor Company. It had a relatively fragile twin-spar frame mounted onto the powerful Aratech VV318 Scoris repulsorlift engine, a pair of tiny ion turbines that supplied thrust, forward-mounted steering vanes, a mid-mounted maneuver control unit that kept the speeder upright, a set of handlebars, rear-set foot pegs with foot-controlled yaw and pitch controls, and an instrument panel with indicators for heat, boost, coolant, and turbine pressure.
The BARC or Bike Advanced Recon Commando speeder was a vehicle also used for reconnaissance. It was powered by repulsors and a turbine engine mounted on the front prong. The speeder was controlled via twin steering vanes atop the bike, and pedals fitted below. Two blaster cannons protruded from the bottom of the front prong with two more fixed on either side of the vehicle's rear.
While Stass Allie was focused on the mission, she was completely unaware that her two clones secretly received Order 66 through the commlinks in their helmets. The troopers looked at each other and nodded their heads, then hit the brakes of their speeders, pulling back some distance away from the Jedi Master as they fired the light blaster cannons on their speeders, blasting Allie's 74-Z speeder to pieces, which explodes, killing her instantly. The remnants of the vehicle crash into the swamp, causing a few birds to squawk and scatter.
On Kashyyyk, Yoda was overlooking the ongoing battle with Tarfful, Chewbacca, and a clone scout trooper named Jek, who wore phase 2 ARF armor with green camouflage. Away from them on the walkway, Commander Gree receives the transmission from Palpatine and Lord Thanatos through his holocommunicator, which he held in his right-hand, gazing down at their holograms as they gave him Order 66.
"It will be done, my lords." Gree says
Gree ends the transmission, puts away his holocommunicator, and walks back to the green Jedi Master. He walks up to Jek on his right and both clones nods their heads. Gree and Jek aim their blaster carbines as they prepared to assassinate their former general, but he sensed what was about to happen and he stood perfectly calm. Before the clones could shoot him, Yoda leaps up with a backflip and decapitates his would be assassins with a single sweep of his lightsaber. The short Jedi Master lands crouched down with his lightsaber behind his back while Gree and Jek's bodies collapsed onto the floor. Tarfful and Chewbacca both roared in surprise while Yoda rises up and stared at the dead clones, who were once his friends, then deactivates his lightsaber and clips it back onto the left-side of his belt. The two Wookies looked at each other and roared, knowing they had to get their Jedi friend to safety.
"Wroaaar!" Chewbacca roars
Tarfful growls and runs ahead, taking the lead while Chewbacca stops and offers Yoda a ride. Yoda climbs up his left-arm and sits on Chewbaccs's shoulders as they leave the command post and head off into the jungle.
On the Republic Venator-class Star Destroyer Tribunal, Rex stood in the briefing room, gazing at the holograms of Palpatine and Lord Thanatos as he received Order 66.
"COMMANDER REX. THE HOUR HAS ARRIVED." Lord Thanatos says
"Execute Order 66." Palpatine says
Like all the other clones, Rex complies with the order as he nods his head.
"Yes, Lord Sidious." Rex says
The holograms of the two villains fade away and Ahsoka enters the briefing room only a second too late.
"Rex. It's Anakin. I feel like something terrible has happened." Ahsoka says
Rex starts to shake and he drops his helmet, which he held in his left-hand. Two other clones standing guard at the entrance of the briefing room also receive Order 66 through radio chatter in their helmets.
"Rex?" Ahsoka says
Ahsoka looks at the clones at her sides in shock and surprise as they aim their blaster carbines at her. But before they could open fire on her, Rex stops them.
"No! I'll do it." Rex says
Turning around, the clone commander faces the female Togruta.
"Rex, what's happening?" Ahsoka asks stepping forward
"Stay back!" Rex yells drawing his two blaster pistols
Ahsoka held up her hands as Rex aimed his blasters at her, though his hands were shaking, as if he was resisting something inside him.
"Find him... Find him... Fives. Find him! Fives!" Rex yells
Unable to resist any longer, Rex opens fire. Ahsoka ducks down, dashes forward, and leaps up onto the holotable, knocking Rex into it and causing him to fall onto the floor. Igniting her lightsabers, Ahsoka turns around and deflects the blaster bolts from the two clones as they fired upon her. She deflects three bolts and sends the fourth back at the trooper on her left, which strikes him in the chest, then she deflects five bolts and sends a sixth one back at the other trooper, striking him in the chest as well. Stretching her left-hand out and waving it to the right, Ahsoka telekinetically closes the door to the briefing room. Then, she looks down at Rex as he started to rise up.
"Rex!" Ahsoka exclaims
The other door to the room opens and another squad of clone troopers led by ARC trooper Jesse charge in and open fire on Ahsoka, who leaps up and spins around with a flip, deflecting their shots. The clones surround the female Togruta and close in on her as they continued their assault of blaster fire. Ahsoka spins around with her lightsabers, deflecting shots from Jesse and his troops on one side and Rex on the other. Planning for an escape, she looks up at the ceiling and deflected all the shots at it. Soon, the room fills with smoke and the clones cease fire.
"She's down. She's down." Clone trooper #1 says
"Hold your fire! We got her!" Clone trooper #2 says
Rex, Jesse, and the troopers close in around the holotable, but Ahsoka was nowhere to be seen. Looking up, they saw a hole in the ceiling, which she had made using their blaster fire to escape. A clone shock trooper walks up to his commanding officer on his right and looks at him.
"Sir, are you all right?" Shock trooper #1 asks
"Fine, just tired is all." Rex says
Rex picks up his helmet and puts it back on as he gives the shock trooper an order.
"I want you to go to the detention level. Execute Maul." Rex commands
"Yes, sir. All right, men!" Shock trooper #1 says
The shock trooper leaves the briefing room and runs out into hallway with two other shock troopers while Rex turns to the rest of the clones.
"All right. We know Ahsoka Tano is on board. She's been marked for termination by Order 66. Under this directive, any and all leadership, including the Keyblade Wielder Devon, must be executed for treason against the Republic. Any soldier that does not comply with the order will also be executed for treason. Understood?" Rex says
"Yes, sir!" The clone troopers say in unison
"There are so many places to hide on this ship. Gather up search parties. We'll fan out and move section by section. Come on. Let's get moving." Rex says
In the detention level of the Tribunal, Maul was still in his Force-restraining capsule when he saw two shock troopers walk up to his cell, deactivating the red ray shield. They walk into the cell and the lead trooper pushes three orange buttons on the right-side of the capsule in a triangular pattern, from left, top, and right. The capsule emitted a sharp hiss and steam pours out as the door slides open to the left. The shock troopers train their blaster carbines at Maul as they prepared to finish him off. But just as they were about to fire, they noticed Maul's eyes looking up as he saw someone behind them. Turning around, they saw it was Ahsoka.
"Look out!" Shock trooper #1 exclaims
Before they could even react, Ahsoka thrusts her right-hand forward, hurling the clone on the right against the walls of the cell with a telekinetic blast through the Force, knocking him out, then slices the barrel of the blaster carbine with a quick right slash of her lightsaber as the other trooper aims at her and lifts her left-hand up, sending the clone flying on his back into the ceiling before letting him drop onto the floor. After incapacitating the shock troopers, Ahsoka walks up to Maul and stares at him with a serious expression as she held her lightsaber up to his throat.
"Don't make me regret this." Ahsoka says
Walking over to the side of the capsule, Ahsoka presses the fourth button on the control panel and the restraints inside open up, releasing Maul, who falls down onto his right-knee.
"You... You survived." Maul says
"Is this your doing? Choose your next words carefully." Ahsoka asks holding her lightsaber against Maul's throat again
"No, no. It was not my doing. I do not know what has occurred, but, surely, you have felt it. The voices crying out. The death." Maul says
"The clones turned against me. Even Rex I don't know why, they just suddenly weren't themselves." Ahsoka says stepping back
"Brilliant. Brilliant. I was not privy to my master's plan, but now, now I see it. He turned the Jedi's own army against them." Maul chuckles
Ahsoka's eyes widened in shock as the realization hit her. If this betrayal had happened to her, then it might already be happening to all other Jedi across the galaxy. Her masters, Anakin, Plo Koon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, even her best friend Devon. Maul pushes himself up to his feet and looks at Ahsoka.
"Well, you've done the right thing by coming to me. Only together can we survive this. Now, if you will follow my lead-" Maul says
Just as Maul was about to step forward, Ahsoka holds her lightsaber against him for a third time.
"You don't understand. I'm not here to team up with you. I need a diversion, and you're it. Now go cause some chaos. It's what you're good at." Ahsoka says
The female Togruta walks out of the cell and cautiously looks around with Maul following her out. As he exits his cell, the rogue Sith asks Ahsoka for a weapon, namely one of her lightsabers.
"Uh, care to give me a fighting chance?" Maul asks holding his left-hand up
Ahsoka turns back to her left and looks at Maul with stern expression.
"I'm not rooting for you. Now get going." Ahsoka says
Maul narrows his eyes at Ahsoka and walks away in one direction while she goes off in another.
In the galactic center of Coruscant, the clone troopers of the 501st invaded the Jedi Temple, moving through the vast halls, mezzanines, and chambers, blasting and killing every Jedi Knight, Master, and Padawan, young and old, in their view. However, the Jedi would not go down without a fight to defend their home and they fought back against their former allies. Some managed to hold their ground for a while, but were ultimately overwhelmed and brought down by the sheer number of clones.
Walking into the High Council Chamber, Darth Vader came upon a group of Jedi younglings hiding behind the chairs. One of them, a human boy named Sors Bandeam looked almost like Anakin when he was young, having blond short hair, blue eyes, and light skin, approaches the former Jedi Knight.
"Master Skywalker, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?" Sors asks
Darth Vader glares silently at the Jedi younglings with a cold, emotionless expression, showing absolutely no remorse for them. An eclectic breathing is soon heard in the chamber, terrifying the younglings as they whimpered frightfully. Lord Drazor steps out from behind Darth Vader and joins him on his left-side, brandishing his bladed fingers. Soon, the Sith Lord ignites his lightsaber while the Dark Keyblade Wielder summons his weapon: Fear's Shadow into his right-hand and dark blue electricity sparks in his other hand as they prepare to slaughter the children while they stood paralyzed in fear.
The fierce fighting soon sparked a blaze which engulfed the Jedi Temple, attracting the attention of hundreds of beings who watched in horror as the ancient edifice burned. Even Padmé could see the devastation from the window of her suite as she watched fearfully and horror-stricken. C-3PO walks up to the Naboo Senator on her left, causing Padmé to turn and face him as he brought news of her husband's location.
"The Chancellor's office indicated that Master Anakin returned to the Jedi Temple. Don't worry. I-I'm sure he'll be alright." C-3PO says
Afyer saying that, C-3PO turns to his right and walks away. Padmé looks back at the burning Jedi Temple and broke into tears, placing her left-hand on her face as she began crying, knowing that something terrible had happened.
Within hours, the Jedi Temple had been pacified and the fighting was over. The Jedi Order had finally fallen and nothing would now stand between Palpatine seizing power and dominance across the Distant Galaxy. As the Jedi Temple continued to burn, Senator Bail Organa arrives at the ancient structure upon seeing the smoke and flames and lands his red and silver XJ-2 airspeeder down on the landing platform on one of the High Council Tower hangars to investigate the attack. However, he was halted by a contingent of clones who guarded the hangar. The leader, clone commander CT-1119 or Appo as he was nicknamed, approached the Alderaanian politician as he demanded to know why there was an attack on the temple.
"What's going on here?" Bail asks
"There's been a rebellion, sir. Don't worry. The situation's under control." Appo says
Bail stepped forward to move past the clone commander, but the troopers blocked his path, aiming their blaster carbines at him.
"I'm sorry, sir. It's time for you to leave." Appo says
Knowing that he could do nothing against the clones to help the Jedi, great heroes who he sympathized, the Alderaan senator had no choice but to comply.
"And so it is." Bail says
Stepping back, Bail turns around to his right and walks back to his airspeeder to take his leave when he heard the sound of a lightsaber igniting and a clone trooper yelling.
"Get him!" Clone Trooper #1 yells
A young male human Padawan named Zett Jukassa, who had short brown hair, blue eyes, and light skin, wearing a simple grey Jedi robe, leaps up over the clones with a somersault and lands infront of Appo and his men, cutting them down with his blue lightsaber as he tried to escape the massacre. More clones swarm onto the landing platform and open fire on the Jedi Padawan, who deflected the blaster bolts with his weapon, sending them back at three clones and killing them. Yet despite his bravery, Zett was shot in the head and killed by a trooper as he fell backwards and collapsed right before Bail's horrified eyes.
"No!" Bail screams
The clone troopers aim their weapons at the Alderaanian politician to shoot him next, but he quickly jumps into his airspeeder and starts it up, taking off from the landing platform as he fled from the Jedi Temple. The clones lower their blaster carbines and watch as Bail takes off into the cityscape.
"Don't worry about him. Let him go." Clone Trooper #2 says
On Utapau, Devon and Obi-Wan survived the fall along with their Varactyls, Boga and Rega as they emerge above the water's surface.
"Devon? Are you alright?" Obi-Wan asks
"Yeah. I'm fine. But what the heck happened back there?" Devon says
"I don't know, but we'd best get off this planet." Obi-Wan says
"Agreed." Devon says
Swimming over to their Varactyls, Devon and Obi-Wan mounted the saddles and grabbed the reins as Boga and Rega snarled and growled softly. The reptavian creatures swim over to the side of the sinkhole using their tails like crocodiles and started climbing up with their riders. As they began making their way up the sinkhole, two Prowler 1000 seeker droids were dispatched by Cody to find their bodies.
Prowler 1000 seeker droids were small probe droids used for local surveillance. They had multiple limbs, a flat, disk-shaped body with an antenna protruding from the droid's dome head, a transceiver dish on the underside for relaying transmissions, two grappling claws, and frontal photoreceptor array with six red eye sensors equipped with various detection systems and scanners.
The two probe droids hovered over the sinkhole floor, searching the grotto with their searchlights while their scanners attempted to locate the Keyblade Wielder and the Jedi Master. However, instead of locating the wayward heroes, the droids came upon a female Nos monster and her young.
A Nos monster was a large carnivorous aquatic reptile native to Utapau that resided in dank grottoes underground and were a distant cousin of sorts to the Varactyls. These creatures had blue skin, green eyes, and paddle-like limbs.
The aquatic reptile, fiercely protective of her young, growled with agitation. Before either of the probe droids could react, the Nos monster lunges forward and attacks, destroying one of the machines with a single chomp of its jaws. The other probe droid beeps in alarm and hovers away into the nearby caves while the angry creature chases after it, roaring loudly.
On Kashyyyk, night has fallen and the battle was officially over. In the aftermath, the clone forces began occupying and conquering the planet with hardly any resistance from the Wookies. AT-RT walkers patrolled the shores and forests, rounding up the Wookie stragglers and hunting for their former Jedi general. Four of these mechanical walkers patrolled the shores of Kachirho City and came upon a crashed ship with three dead Wookies laying in the wreckage.
"All these Wookies are dead. Move to the east." Clone Trooper #3 says
"Yes, sir!" Clone Trooper #4 says
Splitting off in teams of two, the AT-RTs continued on with their patrols. In the nearby mountains, Yoda, Chewbacca, and Tarfful sought refuge away from the clone troopers. They approached an escape pod, which had been hidden and covered with tree branches and foliage in case of an emergency.
The vessel was conical-shaped with a smooth hull, had three sublight engine thrusters at the base below the fuel tank, reactor, and sensor pit, and a single seat inside the central section with a control panel on the left and a sensor processor, guidance computer, and optical sensor window built above into the pod's conical tip.
Tarrful pulls off the tree branches and Yoda looks upon him and Chewbacca as he bids farewell to his Wookie friends.
"Good-bye, Tarfful. Good-bye, Chewbacca." Yoda says
"Wroooaaar!" Chewbacca roars
"Miss you I will." Yoda says
Yoda turns around to his right and proceeded to walk toward the escape pod as the front splits open to form a doorway, the door lowering down acting as a boarding ramp into the pod's interior. Soon, the green Jedi Master climbs into his seat and sat down as the pod door lifts up and closes.
On Coruscant, after having fled the Jedi Temple, Bail Organa traveled to the Senate Executive Building and boards his personal vessel, a CR70 corvette called the Tantive III, which was stationed at its landing platform inside one of the large rectangular silos of the docking area as he prepared to head out and assist Devon and what few surviving Jedi remained in the galaxy.
The Tantive III was a small corvette-class starship manufactured by Corellian Engineering Corporation as an Alderaanian diplomatic cruiser, large enough to be considered a capital ship, yet it was smaller than a frigate. The CR70 corvette came equipped with 11 sublight engines, a 2.0 class hyperdrive system, a dorsal sensor unit, navicomputer, deflector shields, and a small docking bay through the underbelly of the ship.
With all preparations made, the landing platform rises up to the top level and Tantive III lifts off from the docking area, ascending above the cityscape and into outer space. Inside, Bail Organa walks through the white corridors of the CR70 corvette with the ship's captain Raymus Antilles, and his aides Sheltay Retrac and Sateen Vestswe as they head for the forward cockpit.
Raymus Antilles was a male human Alderaanian who loyally served Bail Organa as his chief of his command staff and captain. He had light skin, brown eyes and hair, wearing a gray uniform of an Alderaanian starship captain.
Sheltay Retrac was a female human Alderaanian and senatorial aide to Bail Organa. She had a slender body with long black hair, brown eyes, and tan skin, wearing a skin-tight white dress that revealed her shoulders.
Sateen Vestswe was a male human Alderaanian. Like Sheltay, he was Bail's aide, but was also his bodyguard. He had brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin, a full beard, and wore gray Alderaan robes.
"Hopefully, we'll be able to intercept a few Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder before they walk into this catastrophe." Bail says
The Alderaan politician simply could not believe the Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder were traitors. It was absolutely absurd. After everything they had done to help the Republic, how could he expect them to suddenly betray the peace and democracy they had fought so hard to preserve. He had to help them. He must.
Elsewhere, as the Republic Star Destroyer Tribunal continued its travel through hyperspace, Rex walks through the corridors of the ship with two other clone troopers behind him while others ran past them as they searched for Ahsoka. Four clones run up and approached their commander with a report.
"Sir, we've finished our sweep of the detention level. The prisoner has escaped. There's no sign of Tano or Maul." Clone Trooper #5 says
"Destroy the escape pods and increase security on the hangar decks." Rex commands
"Right away, sir." Clone Trooper #5 says
Elsewhere on the ship, Ahsoka sneaks her way through the corridors, hiding behind corners and avoiding the troopers as they run past. She soon enters the cruiser's droid bay where three astromech droids stood deactivated. These droids were R7-A7, RG-G1, and CH-33P.
R7-A7 was an R-series astromech droid with masculine programming and Ahsoka's old droid partner. He had red, green, and silver plating and a black sensor.
CH-33P or Cheep for his nickname was a C1-series astromech droid who also had masculine programming. He had grey and yellow plating, three black sensors, an antenna on his dome, two gripper arms, and a computer interface arm.
RG-G1 or G-G as he was nicknamed was an R-series astromech also of masculine programming who had a conical-shaped head compared to his fellow droids. He had black and gold-colored plating.
Ahsoka recognized her droid as she saw him standing at his station and presses a button on the right-side of his dome, powering him up.
"Shh. R7, I need your help." Ahsoka whispers
R7 beeps excitingly as he saw his master again, but was also worried about what was happening. Ahsoka waved her hands to keep his voice down.
"I know. I know. Shh. Quiet." Ahsoka whispers
G-G and Cheep both powered up and they rolled up to the female Togruta, whistling and beeping the same question as R7.
"I don't know. I don't know why the clones are doing this. But we might be able to do something about it." Ahsoka says
The three droids beeped and whistled, offering to lend their assistance to Ahsoka.
"Are you sure you wanna help? It could be dangerous." Ahsoka asks
Again, the droids beeped, determined to help despite the danger.
"Okay, let's get started. R7, patch into the central computer. Bring up every secure file on Clone Trooper CT-5555." Ahsoka says
R7 rolls over to a nearby computer terminal and plugs into it with his scomplink. He then turns his head to Ahsoka, projecting a holographic files of medical records.
"Okay, Rex. What am I looking for?" Ahsoka asks
First, Ahsoka saw only technical information. Next, she saw the image of a clone trooper named Tup, and the image of a female Mikkian Jedi Knight named Tiplar. Then, she saw a medical x-ray image of the clone trooper's head, which showed a red dot in a specific part of his brain, before R7 pulled up the holographic recording of female Kaminoan scientist named Nala Se.
"An independent investigation confirmed that the Clone Trooper CT-5555 experienced a malfunction with his inhibitor chip. Both the Senate Committee and the Jedi Council have accepted these findings. However, a grievance report was filed by CT-7567." Nala Se says
"R7, bring up that report." Ahsoka says
R7 beeps, saying that the report was encrypted.
"It's sealed? Try Anakin's passcode. 8-1-0-8." Ahsoka says
R7 decrypts the file and shows a holographic recording of Rex.
"I already know this report is gonna fall on deaf ears, but I owe it to Fives to record what I saw. I'm not sure I believe it myself, but there's a possibility that the inhibitor chips the Kaminoans put inside of us have a purpose that we don't yet fully understand." Rex says
At last, Ahsoka solved the mystery behind the sudden antagonism behind Rex and the other clone troopers. They each had inhibitor chips planted in their brains, which forced them to turn on her. Now knowing about the behavior chips, Ahsoka had a plan to save Rex.
Elsewhere on the Tribunal, dozens of troopers retreat from the corridors as they were engaged in heavy fighting with Maul as he advances toward them.
"Fall back! Fall back!" Clone Trooper #6 yells
The clones fire their blasters at the rogue Sith, but he rips a panel of the bulkhead from the left, using it as a makeshift shield while he overpowered the troopers with the Force. Maul lifts up one clone with his extended right-hand, slamming him onto the ceiling and dropping him, then hurls the panel at two other clones, decapitating them as their bodies fell backwards. Stretching both hands out infront of him, Maul rips two more panels from the walls and crushes two troopers before using them as shields for the blaster fire.
"Ridge is down! Maul's advancing toward the main hangar!" Clone Trooper #7 yells
"You must seal the blast doors. Stop his advance!" Rex commands
Maul throws the metal panel on his right at a clone trooper to the left, impaling his waist and pinning him to the wall, then stretches his right-hand out and pulls it back as he telekinetically yanks the blaster carbines out of the hands of two clones, disarming them.
"Seal the blast door! Now!" Clone Trooper #7 yells
One of the troopers presses a red button on the right-side of the corridor and the blast doors start to close. As the clones pass through the other side of the closing doors, Maul stretches his right-hand out and pulls the right-arm of the last clone back toward him through the door. The other troopers tried to pull their comrade back, grabbing his other arm, but to no avail. Soon, the blast doors closed and severed the clone's arm, which drops onto the floor. As soon as the corridor was sealed off, Maul heard beeping coming from the wristcomm of the trooper's severed arm and kneeled down as he listened to the static voice of Rex on the radio frequency.
"Trooper, did you seal the doors? Trooper? If you read this, seal the door. We want to redirect his approach. Over." Rex says
Maul stared down at the wristcomm for a moment, then glanced up at the blast door as he came up with an idea.
On Utapau, by now the battle was over as the Separatist droid army was routed and the clone army began occupying the planet, setting up fortifications and guarding the sinkholes. The Utapau resistance, including Port Administrator Tion Medon, was rounded up and arrested, being escorted through Pau City by troopers and onto LAAT gunships.
"Did you find Kenobi or the Keyblade Wielder?" Cody asks
"Sir, nobody could've survived that fall." Clone Trooper #8 says
"Start loading your men into the ships." Cody says
Not far from Cody's position, Devon and Obi-Wan stood hidden in the shadows behind a corner, peering around the side slightly as they watched the occupation.
"They're locking down the planet." Obi-Wan says
"We need to get out of here. Fast." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master backed away and walked over to their Varactyls Boga and Rega as they were hidden in a small cave, sitting on their haunches. As they climbed onto their steeds, Devon lifts up his right-arm and speaks into his wristcomm to contact his droid partner.
"T7? You read?" Devon whispers
T7 beeps over the comlink.
"Track my location and bring the ship in." Devon whispers
In the hangar bay of the Vigilance, which was still in orbit above the planet, T7 stood by Devon's Eta-2 interceptor when he received his transmission, beeping and whistling in acknowledgment. Using his thrusters, which extended from his two legs, T7 enters the droid socket in the starfighter and powers up the vehicle. Accessing the controls, the astro droid flies the Eta-2 out of the hangar and down to Utapau, tracking his master's signal.
Devon and Obi-Wan ride their Varactyls back to General Grievous' secret landing platform where the cyborg's empty shell still laid, and where his Belbullab-22 heavy starfighter was still docked.
"Well, here's my ride." Obi-Wan says
"And here comes mine." Devon says pointing up to the sky with his left-hand
From the sky, Devon's Eta-2 interceptor descends into the sinkhole and touches down on the landing platform with T7 in his station. The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master climb down from their reptavian steeds and turned to face them. They removed their saddles and threw them over to the right of the platform, then said farewell to the two Varactyls, rubbing their heads while they growled and snorted softly.
"Farewell, Boga." Obi-Wan says
"Goodbye, Rega. Take care of yourself." Devon says
After saying goodbye to their Varactyls, Obi-Wan climbs into the Bebullab-22 starfighter while Devon climbs into his Eta-2 interceptor. Powering his new ship up, Obi-Wan took off from the landing platform first, followed by Devon and T7 as they fly out of the sinkhole and ascend vertically into the atmosphere, leaving the planet of Utapau behind them as they fly out into the vastness of space. In their flight, the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master spoke to each other over the comm channels of their ships.
"Devon, can you hear me?" Obi-Wan asks
"Roger, Obi-Wan. I'm right behind you. What the heck happened back there? Our clones turned on us, even Cody." Devon says
"I'm not sure, but we need to find some help. Try Emergency code 913 on the comm channels." Obi-Wan says
"Right. Let's hope there's someone friendly in the Republic who can hear us." Devon says
Devon and Obi-Wan press some buttons on their ship controls and speak into the comm system as they broadcast an emergency distress call to contact anyone in the Republic, Jedi or friendly, who was willing to help them.
"Emergency code 913. We have no contact on any frequency." Obi-Wan says
"Mayday. Mayday. This is the Keyblade Wielder Devon in the blind contacting any friendlies in the Republic. Does anyone read? This is a 913 emergency." Devon says
Soon, the Keyblade Wielder and the Jedi Master received a transmission from Bail Organa as his hologram appears on the ship's holoprojector infront of him. It was distorted at first, but it quickly clears up.
"M...ast...er... Ken...obi. De... von." Bail says
"Hello?" Devon says
"Repeat." Obi-Wan says
"Master Kenobi. Devon." Bail says
"Senator Organa. My clone troops turned on me and Devon. We need help." Obi-Wan says
"We have just rescued Master Yoda. It appears this ambush has happened everywhere. We're sending you both our coordinates." Bail says
Back on the Republic ship Tribunal, Rex and several of his men were running through the corridors of the Star Destroyer when A7 abruptly rolls out infront of him in the middle of an intersection, causing the clone commander to run into him.
"Hey, hey. Out of the way!" Rex says
While A7 blocked Rex' path, CH-33P rolls over to the door controls of the intersection and plugs in with his scomplink. Working fast, he shuts three of the four blast doors infront of him, on his right, and behind him, separating Rex from the rest of the clones.
"Are you cross-wired?" Rex asks
R7 rolls over to the right of Rex and played a holo recording of Ahsoka, showing a full body projection of the female Togruta.
"Rex. I think I know what's happening. I saw your report on Fives. It isn't your fault. You were programmed. Your mind was altered to do this when you were very young. I can help you." Ahsoka says
After seeing the holo recording of the traitorous Jedi, Rex draws his blaster pistol in his right-hand and points it down at R7, causing the astro droid to screech nervously.
"Where is she?" Rex asks in a demanding voice
"I'm right here." Ahsoka says
Rex turns around to his left and faces Ahsoka as she appeared right behind him. Taking advantage of Rex' distraction, R7 rolls up and electrocuted him with his shock arm until he fell over and collapsed unconscious onto the floor.
"Careful. We're trying not to hurt him." Ahsoka says
"They've got the commander! Bring the charges!" Clone Trooper #9 yells
"Cheep, are all the doors sealed, so the way is clear?" Ahsoka asks
CH-33P beeps in affirmation, assuring his Jedi friend that their path was clear.
"Okay. Let's get him to the medical bay." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka picks up Rex and drapes him over the three astro droids with RG-G1 at the front holding Rex' back, CH-33P in the middle, and R7-A7 in the back holding Rex' legs, then leads the way down the open corridor. The clones cut through the blast doors on the left and run to chase Ahsoka and the droids as they carried Rex away, but she presses the red button to the door controls on her right, closing the blast door and cutting off the troopers from their path, slowing down their pursuit.
"Start working on these doors!" Clone Trooper #9 commands pointing at the blast door with his left-hand
Entering the medical bay, the three astro droids bring Rex, who now had his helmet removed, over to the left-side of the examination table, and Ahsoka pulls him onto it. The female Togruta then walks around to a medical terminal at the front of the table and presses some red and white buttons as they prepared for surgery on the clone's brain.
"R7, run a scan. See if you can find the inhibitor chip the report talked about." Ahsoka says
R7 rolls up to the right-side of the medical terminal and plugs into it with his scomplink. An FX-7 medical assistant droid floats up to the side of the examination table on a repulsorcart to assist with the operation.
The FX-7 medical assistant droid was a droid model manufactured by Medtech Industries as surgical assistants and nursing droids. It was a tall, gray cylindrical unit roughly symmetrical on all sides, equipped with twenty arms of sophisticated, surgical tools, dispensers and injectors, a main manipulator arm, a medical diagnostic computer and sensor on the droid's cap-like head, which could rotate 360 degrees, and a scomplink for direct access to medical computers or other droids.
Extending its main arm out, the medical droid runs its first scan on Rex' head for any anomalies, showing its results on a small monitor in the medical terminal where Ahsoka stood. Nothing came up. R7 turns his dome head to his master and beeps the medical results.
"But the chip has to be there. Check again." Ahsoka says
R7 runs multiple scans on Rex to find the inhibitor chip, but every time each one comes up with negative results. Outside, after cutting past the blast door in the corridor, the clones approach the sealed door of the medical bay and a trooper kneels down to left-side of the doorway with a computer spike to manually unlock it. CH-33P beeps in alarm as his sensors detected the clones outside, attracting Ahsoka's attention as she turns left and looks at him.
"How close are they?" Ahsoka asks
CH-33P beeps excitingly, saying that the clones were right outside the medical bay. Knowing that they could open the door at any moment, Ahsoka looks down at RG-G1 and leaves him in charge of handling the door.
"G-G, if they override the door controls, you have to reseal it fast." Ahsoka says
The black and gold droid beeps and nods in understanding and rolls over to the door, standing by to seal it up again when the clones unlock it. Turning back to her droid, Ahsoka checks on the progress of the scans.
"R7, anything?" Ahsoka asks
R7 beeps with the same results as before. No matter how many times they scanned Rex' brain, they could not find the inhibitor chip. Either the device had some kind of cloaking technology designed to hide it, or it was way too small for the scanners to detect it. But Ahsoka was not ready to give up. She knew it was in his head somewhere. They had to find it and fast. If the medical scanners could not detect the inhibitor chip, maybe she can help reveal it through the Force. Walking around to the right-side of the examination table, Ahsoka places her hands on Rex' head and closes her eyes in concentration as she recited the Guardian's Mantra.
"I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me." Ahsoka chants
As the female Togruta chants the Guardian's Mantra, Rex' mouth starts to move as he joins his voice with hers.
"I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me. I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me." Ahsoka and Rex chant in unison
After twenty seconds of chanting and scanning, the medical computer suddenly beeps as the scanners finally detected the inhibitor chip. Ahsoka opens her eyes and glances over her right-shoulder at R7.
"You found it?" Ahsoka asks
The female Togruta walks over to a monitor behind her and stares at the x-ray of Rex' head as she saw the exact location of the inhibitor chip inside the front part of his brain. Narrowing her eyes, Ahsoka turns and looks back at R7, telling him to prep the clone commander for surgery.
"R7, get him under and remove that thing." Ahsoka says
R7 beeps, voicing his concerns as to whether or not removing the device might actually save Rex.
"I don't know if it will work, but if it doesn't, we're dead anyway." Ahsoka says
R7 turns his scomplink on the medical terminal and the examination table slides into the surgical pod with Rex. Ahsoka watches as her friend is brought into surgery, then turns to her right and faces the door of the medical bay as the clones were close to opening it. Glancing over to her right, the female Togruta tells RG-G1 to stand by on the door controls.
"Get ready on the door." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka draws her two lightsabers and ignites them as she braced herself for the attack. Soon, the door is lifted open by a clone on the left and the troopers open fire with their blaster carbines. Ahsoka deflects the blue bolts and thrusts both her hands forward, hurling two troopers back with a Force push out of the medical bay and into the corridor. Two more troops appear at the sides of the door and fire their weapons while Ahsoka continues to defend herself. As the fighting was going on, the procedure on Rex was completed and he slowly began to regain consciousness as his eyes opened and blinked. Ahsoka slams the two troopers against the door and hurls them back with another telekinetic blast, but more clones replace them with even more blaster fire. Eventually, a blaster bolt strikes Ahsoka in her left-wrist, causing her to drop her shoto and leave her leaning against the medical terminal while deflecting the shots with her other lightsaber. She was in danger of being overwhelmed as more clones continued to flood the doorway.
"The door. G-G! The door!" Ahsoka says
RG-G1 was already plugged into the door controls, trying to close the blast door, but was having some difficulty. Just when things seemed bleak, two blaster pistols behind Ahsoka open fire and shoot down three clone troopers, including the one holding the door up. Ahsoka turns to her left and looks at Rex, who was deeply shaken with anguish by what had happened but was once again fully right in his mind.
"Rex? Are you okay?" Ahsoka asks
"Yeah. Yeah, kid. I'm okay. I'm sorry for what happened earlier." Rex says lowering his blaster pistols
The clone commander sits over the side of the table and sighs, placing his right-hand on the side of his head.
"I almost killed you." Rex says
"How widespread is this?" Ahsoka asks
Rex looks up at his Jedi friend with a horrified expression as he told her the extent of the inhibitor chips.
"Ahsoka... it's all of us. The entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights, including our Keyblade Wielder friend Devon." Rex says
Suddenly, electricity pulses along the sides of the doorframe as the clones outside began using arc welders to cut their way inside. Ahsoka and Rex look back towards the door while CH-33P and RG-G1 move away to their side, wondering how they were going to escape.
Author's Note: Bear witness the fall of the Jedi Order! Palpatine's true colors show as he becomes the Sith Lord we all know and love... Hate! I mean hate! Anakin Skywalker has turned to the Dark Side and has finally become everyone's favorite Sith Lord, Darth Vader (Not the armored one. Not yet... But still!). Order 66 is initiated in every clone trooper in the entire Grand Army of the Republic, killing off nearly every single Jedi in the Distant Galaxy, leaving Devon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Ahsoka as the only known survivors. As the Jedi Order and the Republic falls, the Galactic Empire rises to seize control. The end draws near... Now, I know that some are wondering and hoping whether Ahsoka and Rex will reunite with Devon, Obi-Wan, and Yoda, and regrettably, that's not going to happen. You see, as far as the events between Revenge of Sith and the Mandalore Arc goes, the skirmish on the Tribunal is concurrent with the events that goes on with the rest of the film, and a reunion just wouldn't be possible.
