In the galactic center of Coruscant, it was night time in the cityscape when Padmé got a visit from her husband, meeting him in the veranda of her suite with his new green and white Eta-2 interceptor docked at the landing area. While the two lovers met with each other, C-3PO walks over to R2-D2, who beeped and whistled in his station on the starfighter.
"Hush! Not so loud." C-3PO says
Padmé wrapped her arms around Anakin as she embraced him.
"Are you alright? I heard there was an attack on the Jedi Temple. You could see the smoke from here." Padmé says
"I'm fine. I'm fine. I came to see if you and the baby are safe." Anakin says
"What's happening?" Padmé asks
"The Jedi have tried to overthrow the Republic." Anakin says
Padmé stared at her husband in shock and disbelief.
"I can't believe that." Padmé says
"I saw Master Windu attempt to assassinate the Chancellor myself." Anakin says
"Oh, Anakin. What are you gonna do?" Padmé asks
The former Jedi turns away from his wife, taking four steps before he stops and speaks.
"I will not betray the Republic." Anakin says
Anakin turns around to his right and looks back at Padmé as he walks back over to her.
"My loyalties lie with the Chancellor... and with the senate... and with you." Anakin says
"And what about Obi-Wan and Devon?" Padmé asks
"I don't know. Many Jedi have been killed. We can only hope that they've remained loyal to the Chancellor." Anakin says looking down
"Anakin, I'm afraid." Padmé says
The former Jedi looks up at the Naboo Senator and places his left-hand on the side of her head as he offers his wife comfort.
"Have faith, my love. Everything will soon be set right. The Chancellor has given me a very important mission. The Separatists have gathered on the Mustafar system. I'm going there to end this war. Wait for me until I return. Things will be different. I promise." Anakin says
Anakin and Padme lean closer to each other and kiss for at least four seconds until they pull apart.
"Please, wait for me." Anakin says
Having said that, Anakin walks back over to his Eta-2 interceptor and steps onto the left-wing of the starfighter as the viewport lifts open for him to enter. As the former Jedi settles down inside the cockpit, C-3PO looks at R2.
"Well, he is under a lot of stress, R2." C-3PO says
R2 whistles and beeps in farewell as Anakin powers up his starfighter.
"Take care, my little friend." C-3PO says
Anakin spares one last look at his wife on his left, then takes off from the veranda, ascending above the Galactic City and into the atmosphere as he sets off for Mustafar. As the former Jedi flies off into space, C-3PO approaches Padmé, wondering if there was something he could do to help her.
"Oh, my lady, is there anything I might do?" C-3PO asks
"No, thank you, 3PO." Padmé says shaking her head
"Oh... I-I feel so helpless." C-3PO says
The gold protocol droid walks away while the Naboo Senator remains on the docking area of the veranda, gazing out at the ruined Jedi Temple in the distance, still in disbelief over what she heard about the Jedi. A part of her felt very worried for her Keyblade Wielder friend Devon, who she cared about deeply as much as she did her husband. She could only hope and pray that he was alright.
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, following the coordinates given to them by Bail Organa, Devon and Obi-Wan rendezvous with the Tantive III and start their approach to the CR70 corvette. They fly their Bebullab-22 and Eta-2 interceptor to the large vessel and enter the docking bay underneath, rising up inside the corvette while the large hatch closes up under them.
Inside, the Keyblade Wielder, two Jedi Masters, and Alderaan Senator walk together through the white corridors of the ship with Devon in the center, Obi-Wan and Bail Organa on his left, and T7-13 and Yoda on his right.
"Thanks for the rescue, Senator Organa. I'm not sure how long we would've lasted out there. It's good to know there's still some people we can trust." Devon says
"How many other Jedi have managed to survive?" Obi-Wan asks
"Heard from no one have we." Yoda says
"I saw thousands of troops attack the Jedi Temple. That's why I went looking for Yoda and Devon." Bail says
"Well, Yoda was on Kashyyyk to aid the Wookies, and I was with Obi-Wan on Utapau hunting down General Grievous. So, chances are you weren't going to find us there, Senator Organa." Devon says
"Have we any contact from the temple?" Obi-Wan asks
"Received a coded retreat message we have." Yoda says
"It requests all Jedi to return to the temple. It says the war is over." Bail says
"Sounds like someone is trying to tie up loose ends." Devon says
"Well, we must go back. If there are any stragglers, they will fall into the trap and be killed." Obi-Wan says
"Hmm. Suggest dismantling the coded signal, do you?" Yoda asks
"Yes, Master. There is too much at stake here." Obi-Wan says
"I agree. And a little more knowledge might light our way." Yoda says
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, the Republic Star Destroyer Tribunal was still traveling through the blue tunnel of hyperspace. Inside the large vessel, Ahsoka Tano, Clone Commander Rex, and the three astro droids R7-A7, CH-33P, and RG-G1 were still trapped inside the medical bay as two brainwashed clone troopers were about halfway through cutting the door down with their arc welders.
"How are we gonna get out of here?" Rex asks putting his helmet back on
"I have an idea." Ahsoka says
"Which is?" Rex asks drawing his blaster pistols
"Just set those things to stun. We're not killing anyone." Ahsoka says
"Yeah, well, tell that to them." Rex says
The female Togruta and the clone captain readied themselves as the arc cuts neared closer to the top.
"They're almost through." Rex says aiming his blasters
"Wait... Wait..." Ahsoka says
The cuts soon reached the top of the door and began drawing closer to each other. After seven seconds of waiting, the cutting process was complete and Ahsoka saw their chance.
"Now!" Ahsoka says
As soon as the cuts converged, Ahsoka thrusts her hands forward and pushes the door into the clones outside with a telekinetic blast through the Force. Rex opens fire on his former squad mates, incapacitating three at the door with stun blasts. He steps outside and quickly ducks down, dodging blue blaster bolts as two clones run toward him. Ahsoka runs out infront of Rex and deflects the shots while he stuns them. More troops arrive from the other corridors, opening fire on the two heroes, while they defend themselves. Ahsoka thrusts her hands forward and hurls two troopers away on her right with a Force push, then turns around to her left and deflects more blaster fire with her lightsabers. As she does, she quickly gives her droid partner a task.
"R7, find us a path out of here." Ahsoka says
The red and green astro droid plugs into nearby port on his right with his scomplink and turns it counterclockwise. Accessing the door controls, R7 shuts the blast door to the corridor that led straight to the medical bay, cutting off dozens of troopers that ran toward them. Ahsoka and Rex finish off the last of the clones and the corridor fell quiet.
"All right. Now what?" Rex asks
"The escape pods have been destroyed. Taking a shuttle is our best bet." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka began walking down the corridor on her right with the three droids following her. Rex was about to follow when he glanced down at his former squad mates as they laid unconscious at his feet.
"The boys are having a rough time of it. Did you hear Maul also escaped?" Rex asks
"He didn't escape. I let him out." Ahsoka says glancing back over her left-shoulder
"What? Why?" Rex asks surprised
"Distraction. Come on!" Ahsoka says
Ahsoka and the droids continue down the hall and runs around the corner to the left.
"That's one word for it." Rex mutters
Back on the Tantive III, the CR70 corvette was traveling through hyperspace, heading back to Coruscant. Inside the vessel, Devon sat by himself in a conference room, which had a long table and eight rotating chairs, four on both sides. He was still baffled by the sudden change in the clone troopers. What could've made them turn against him and Obi-Wan? There had to be an explanation. T7-13 was also in the room with the Keyblade Wielder as he stood next to him on his left. The droid beeped and whistled in concern, asking his master if he was alright.
"Yeah, T7. I'm okay. I'm just at a loss here. I don't understand why Cody and the other clones would suddenly attack me and Obi-Wan. They almost killed us." Devon says
T7 beeped and whistled, suggesting there was a reason for the betrayal of the clones. Although Devon didn't know much about the binary language of droids, he pretty much knew what T7 was saying.
"Yeah. I'm sure there's some kind of reason behind it. And then, there's Ahsoka. There's been no word from her lately, and it's got me worried. If Cody and his men turned on us, imagine what could be happening on her side. I hope she's alright." Devon says
As he sat in his seat, the young teen quickly remembered something. He had his holocommunicator, which was clipped to the right-side of his belt. Perhaps he could try to get in contact with Ahsoka, wherever she was in the Distant Galaxy, and whether or not she was still alive.
"Maybe, we can get in touch with Ahsoka and rescue her. Here's hoping there's a good enough connection that can reach her." Devon says
On the Tribunal, Ahsoka, Rex, and the three astromech droids were making their way through the corridors of the Star Destroyer towards the main hangar when a beeping sound is heard from Ahsoka, forcing them all to stop.
"What's that?" Rex asks
The female Togruta listened to the beeping and she gasps with widened eyes upon realizing what it was.
"My communicator! I forgot all about it. It must be Devon." Ahsoka exclaims
Ahsoka grabs her holocommunicator from the left-side of her belt with her right-hand and answers it, causing a small hologram of Devon to appear on the built-in projector.
"Ahsoka? Ahsoka, do you read?" Devon says
"Yes, Devon, I'm here." Ahsoka says
"Oh, thank God. Glad to see you're still in one piece. Are you alright? Where are you?" Devon says
"I'm on the Republic ship Tribunal. We're still traveling through hyperspace back to Coruscant." Ahsoka says
"I'm heading back to Coruscant as well with on Senator Organa's ship. Master Yoda and Obi-Wan are with me too. We don't know why, but all the clones have betrayed the Jedi. Even Cody and our own troops turned on me and Obi-Wan back on Utapau, and Yoda on Kashyyyk. Did the same thing happen to you?" Devon says
"Yes, and I know why this is happening. It's a long story, but I'll try to explain it as best I can." Ahsoka says
On the hologram, Devon places his left-hand on his waist, eager to hear what Ahsoka had to share with him.
"I'm all ears. What'cha got?" Devon says
Elsewhere on the Tribunal, Maul was making his own way through the ship, listening to the transmissions through a clone trooper's wrist comm he had acquired earlier.
"Target number one's escaped the medical bay. We're in pursuit." Clone Trooper #1 says
"What's the status of CT-7567?" Jesse asks
"Commander Rex is still missing in action, sir." Clone Trooper #1 says
"Did he aid in Tano's escape?" Jesse asks
"Unknown at present." Clone Trooper #1 says
The transmission ends and Maul continues down the corridor. He approaches the door to the ship's hyperdrive room when two clone troopers run out from another hallway on the left and block his path. The rogue Sith stretches his hands out and lifts them up above the floor by their throats, choking the clones through the Force while they gagged, gripping at their necks and flailing their legs about.
Inside the hyperdrive room, several clone troopers stood at their posts, guarding the engines on different levels when the door to the room opens up, revealing one of the choking clones in Maul's grip. The rogue Sith hurls the trooper into the room and into another squad mate, sending them both over the sides of the walkway. Another clone aims his blaster carbine at Maul and opens fire, shooting a blue bolt at him. Maul leans his body to the left, dodging the shot, then sprints forward, throwing the clone off the walkway to the right with a wave of his right-hand. Other troopers fire on Maul from above on a higher level with one on the left reporting the situation through the comlink in his helmet.
"Target number two is in the hyperdrive room!" Clone Trooper #2 yells
Looking up at the clones above him, Maul stretches his right-hand toward the reporting trooper, seizing control of his blaster carbine and directs the blaster fire at two other clones on his left before throwing him off into the abyss below. Reaching the end of the walkway, Maul punches the trooper in the stomach with his right-hand and knees him in the face with his left-knee, knocking off his helmet, then kicks him away with his right-foot, sending him into another clone behind him. Catching the trooper's helmet, Maul turns and blocks two shots from a clone on his left before throwing it at him and knocking him off the walkway.
After dealing with the clones, Maul turns right to the two hyperdrive engines that hung before him on their moorings. He tears the circular control console away with a scooping motion of both hands, then he focuses on the two large engines, stretching his left-hand toward the one on his left, and his right-hand toward the other as he rips them apart through the Force.
On the bridge of the Star Destroyer, alarms began blaring as the clone officers noticed the malfunction with the ship's hyperdrive engines.
"Sir, the hyperdrive generators are failing!" Clone Officer #1 says
"Disengage! Disengage!" Clone Officer #2 says
"It's too late!" Clone Officer #1 says
In the hyperdrive room, fiery and electrical explosions tore apart the room as Maul kept his telekinetic grip on the two large engines. A squad of clone troopers arrive at the room and run in to try and stop him, but the rogue Sith swings his hands down. The hyperdrive generators fall and smash through the walkway, crushing the clones underneath and sending them falling to their demise.
Back with Ahsoka and her group, she explained everything she learned about the inhibitor chips to Devon, who was surprised by this new information.
"Inhibitor chips? And they're inside every clone trooper in the entire army?" Devon asks
"Yes. There was one inside Rex too, but I was able to remove it with some help." Ahsoka says
"Wait a minute. Rex? He's with you too?" Devon asks
Rex steps up and stands alongside Ahsoka on her left.
"Right here, Commander." Rex says
"Oh... Heh. Well, it's great to know we've got at least one good soldier on our side. But still, with all these inhibitor chips inside every clone, there's no way we can reverse this." Devon says
"He's right. Even if we could, the damage is already done. Every Jedi in the galaxy has probably been wiped out by now." Rex says
"I know. Which means Master Plo Koon is probably gone. And Anakin... I hope he's okay." Ahsoka says looking down slightly sad
"Yeah... Me too." Devon says
Suddenly, Ahsoka, Rex, and the three astro droids felt a tremor, which shook the whole ship.
"I don't like the sound of that." Rex says
"Ahsoka? Rex? What's going on? Is everything alright?" Devon asks
"We gotta go, Devon. Something's happening to the ship. I'll contact you later if I can." Ahsoka says
Ending the transmission, Ahsoka places her holocommunicator back onto her belt and looks at Rex.
"C'mon. Let's get to the hangar." Ahsoka says
Pushing onward, the female Togruta, clone commander, and three droids run down the hallway and turn left around the corner as they continue heading for the hangar.
On the Tantive III, Devon clipped his holocommunicator back onto his belt and sigh. He was relieved that Ahsoka was still alive, but he was still worried how long she would be able to stay that way.
"Well, at least we now know she's alright." Devon says
"Concerned for Ahsoka are you?" A voice says
Devon looks over to his left and saw the voice came from Yoda, who stood at the doorway of the conference room.
"Oh... Master Yoda." Devon says
The small green Jedi Master looked up at the Keyblade Wielder with a sympathetic expression and assured him that Ahsoka would be fine.
"Strong Ahsoka is with the Force. A natural survivor she is. Endured many trials Ahsoka has. Trust in her you must, just as she trusts in you." Yoda says
The Keyblade Wielder stares at the small green Jedi Master for a moment. Based on his words, it was clear that Ahsoka had been through a lot since the start of the Clone Wars. And if his duel with her in their first meeting at the Jedi Temple has taught him anything, Ahsoka was pretty capable of taking care of herself. If Yoda believed she can survive her ordeal, then he should too. Putting on a faithful smile, Devon nods his head to the Jedi Master.
"You're right, Yoda. Ahsoka is strong. If she's strong enough to take on Maul, then she'll definitely make it through this. I believe in her." Devon says
Yoda smiles and nods his head as he looks up at the Keyblade Wielder. The meeting was soon interrupted when Obi-Wan enters the room.
"Devon, Master, we're coming up on Coruscant. You'd best head up to the command deck." Obi-Wan says
"Right." Devon says
Following Obi-Wan, Devon, Yoda, and T7 leave the conference room and head up to the forward command deck of the ship.
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, the Star Destroyer Tribunal comes out of hyperspace, emitting smoke and explosions. The huge uncontrollable starship was now on a collision course, heading straight towards a large terrestial moon up ahead. This moon was brown with some green patches and white clouds. It's surface was rocky with a breathable atmosphere and a generally cold climate.
Inside the starship, Ahsoka and Rex enter the hangar control deck where four clone officers were stationed. Rex stuns three clones with his blasters while Ahsoka thrusts her hands at the fourth clone, blasting him away and into the wall with a Force push. After dealing with them, the two heroes look out at the hangar.
"Hangar bay doors are sealed. They've got everything locked down. If they weren't trying to kill us, I'd be proud." Rex says
Turning around to her left, Ahsoka looks down at the three astro droids and assigns a task to each of them.
"R7, start unlocking the doors on bay 12." Ahsoka says
R7-A7 beeps in acknowledgment and rolls over to the far right of the long control console.
"Cheep, prep the shuttle." Ahsoka says
CH-33P beeps and also rolls off to the right to the console.
"G-G, find out what happened to the ship." Ahsoka says
RG-G1 beeps and rolls up to the left of the console. All three droids plug in with their scomplinks as they went to their assigned tasks.
Elsewhere on the Star Destroyer, dozens of clone troopers run through the hallways as sparks burst and fly from the walls and explosions rocked the ship. Maul walks into the intersection and hears another transmission between ARC trooper Jesse and a clone trooper.
"Control failed to report in. We think they'll make their move to escape via the main hangar." Clone Trooper #1 says
"Affirmative, I want squads marshaled at position 2-5 and 2-7. Wait for my signal before proceeding." Jesse says
"Copy that, Lieutenant." Clone Trooper #1 says
In hangar control, RG-G1 turns his head toward Ahsoka and Rex and beeps, reporting the status of the hyperdrive generators.
"What do you mean the hyperdrive is offline?" Rex asks
RG-G1 beeps again explaining why.
"Destroyed? It's completely gone?" Rex asks
RG-G1 beeps in affirmation. Suddenly, a computer on the hangar controls to the left of RG-G1 beeps and flashes in alarm. Ahsoka and Rex look over at the monitor and they saw a four-layered radar display, showing the path of the Star Destroyer, indicated by red arrow as it headed straight toward the moon, indicated by a large red dot in the center.
"We're caught in that moon's gravitational field." Rex says
Ahsoka looks up at the hangar doors and gives R7 a new task.
"R7, open the main hangar doors." Ahsoka says
R7 beeps in acknowledgment and turns his scomplink to access the bay door controls. The main hangar doors split open and light from the outside shines through, revealing the approaching moon, which was now very close to the starship.
"We need to get out of here." Ahsoka says
Mustafar. A fiery volcanic world in the Atravis sector in the Outer Rim Territories. However, it was not always like this. Once, Mustafar was a lush, forested garden world that thrived. That was until darkness fell over and a massive Force cataclysm devastated the planet, transforming it into a hellish landscape. Most of the red planet was covered in molten lava with lava seas, lakes, rivers, and pits, while volcanoes and obsidian mountains, plains, and shores made up the rest of the surface.
Here, an ore collection complex called the Klegger Corp Mining Facility, owned by the Techno Union, stood built into the side of a mountain overlooking a lava river, serving as a headquarters for the Separatist Council. Valuable ores were mined from the lava and extracted by
Inside the mining complex, Nute Gunray and the other Separatist Leaders had assembled together in the secret command center with an OOM-series command battle droid, OOM security battle droids, Nemoidian guards, who stood at their posts at the main entrance and side doors, and their aides, standing around one of two holotables that were in the room as two large holograms of Lord Thanatos and Darth Sidious, a.k.a Palpatine, were projected before them.
"The plan has gone as you had promised, my lords." Gunray says
"You have done well, Viceroy. When Lord Drazor, and my new apprentice, Darth Vader, arrive, they will... take care of you." Palpatine says
Lord Thanatos and Palpatine held sinister smiles on their faces just before their holograms faded away.
Returning back to Coruscant, the Tantive III began its approach tooward the planet. In the cockpit of the CR70 corvette, Devon stood next to Yoda in the center, leaning against his seat with his right-arm, while T7-13 stood behind him. Bail Organa sat in his own seat alongside Yoda's right while Obi-Wan sat in his seat on the left-side of the cockpit behind the ship's pilot, Jeremoch Colton.
Jeremoch Colton was a human male Alderaanian who served Bail Organa as his pilot for the Tantive III. He had light skin, short blond hair, and blue eyes, wearing a gray uniform and a silver headset.
As they descended down through Coruscant's atmosphere, Colton looks back at Bail Organa on his right as the ship received a transmission from the Senate Executive Building down on the planet's surface.
"We're receiving a message from the Chancellor's office, sir." Colton says
"Send it through." Bail says
"Yes, sir." Colton says
Colton presses a button on the ship's control panel and a live video transmission from the Vice Chair Mas Amedda appears on the monitor with him standing in the Chancellor's Secretariat.
"Senator Organa, the Supreme Chancellor requests your presence at a special session of Congress." Mas Amedda says
"I will be there." Bail says
"He'll be expecting you." Mas Amedda says
The transmission ends as the video feed collapses and the group pondered over this new development.
"Could be a trap." Bail says
"I don't think so. The Chancellor will not be able to control thousands of star systems without keeping the senate intact." Obi-Wan says
"If a special session of Congress there is, easier for us to enter the Jedi Temple it will be." Yoda says
"Right." Devon says
Devon shifts his gaze and looks over at the Alderaan politician on his right.
"Bail, you attend this special meeting that Palpatine has organized and let us know what happens." Devon says
Bail nods his head in understanding.
"I'll have Colton and Captain Antilles drop you, Yoda, and Kenobi off at the temple." Bail says
Devon nods his head and the group gazes out the cockpit viewport as they now enter the Galactic City. The Tantive III veers to the right and heads for the Galactic Senate Building to drop off Bail Organa for the meeting, and then drop Devon, Obi-Wan, and Yoda off at the Jedi Temple.
On the other side of the Distant Galaxy, Darth Vader arrives at the Mustafar system, flying down to the red planet in his Eta-2 interceptor. Descending down to the surface, he approaches the mining complex and lands his ship on the landing platform to the right of the facility. R2 ejects himself from the droid socket in the starfighter and lands on the platform while the cockpit opens up and Darth Vader climbs out, stepping down the right-wing of his light interceptor. He walks across the platform and proceeds toward the stairs that led down to the facility with R2 following him. Glancing back over his left-shoulder, the Sith Lord tells the astromech droid to stay put on the landing pad.
"R2, stay with the ship." Vader says
Darth Vader lifts the hood of his black cloak over his head and proceeds down the stairs while R2 stopped and watched him go, beeping and whistling nervously, knowing that something bad was about to happen. At the bottom of the stairs, Darth Vader meets up with Lord Drazor, who was already waiting for him near the entrance to the building. The Dark Keyblade Wielder nods his head and the two villains walk together as they carried on with their mission.
In the command center of the facility, the Separatist Council were looking over the holotables and speaking in conversations concerning their businesses when five MSE-6 repair droids, small, black boxy droids that moved around on four wheels scurried into the room from the main entrance, beeping and squeaking as they scattered. The Separatists looked over towards the entrance and they saw Darth Vader and Lord Drazor as they entered the command center, walking down the corridor and stopping at the doorway with the Sith Lord on the left and the Dark Keyblade Wielder on the right.
"Welcome, Lord Vader and Lord Drazor. We've been expecting you." Gunray greets
Lifting his left-hand up, Darth Vader silently seals the doors to the room through the Force as he slides his hand down while the Separatists looked on in confusion.
Back on the Star Destroyer Tribunal, the huge disintegrating starship was now entering the moon's atmosphere with the sublight engines failing and shutting down and one tearing away from the vessel. In hangar control, Ahsoka and Rex were still waiting for the hangar bay doors to open.
"Any luck with those doors?" Rex asks looking down at R7 on his left
R7 beeps in response to Rex, saying he was nearly done.
"And the shuttle?" Ahsoka asks
R7 beeps again and three bay doors on the left split vertically open, revealing a Nu-class transport shuttle docked inside.
"There it is." Ahsoka says
Although Ahsoka was glad to see the shuttle untouched, her relief was shortlived when the rest of the bay doors open, revealing two platoons of clone troopers.
"They were waiting for us." Rex says
The clones run out into the middle of the hangar and stand in file in rows of ten across. ARC trooper Jesse moves to the front of the clones, gazing up at Ahsoka and Rex before turning right to his men.
"Hold your position, men. If they try to leave, they'll have to go through us." Jesse says
Rex stares out at his former squad mates in the hangar, then looks at Ahsoka, wondering how they will get past them.
"So what do we do? Fight our way to the shuttle?" Rex asks
"They're too many." Ahsoka says
Ahsoka turns right and faces Rex with a calm, yet slightly sad expression.
"Besides, I don't want to hurt them." Ahsoka says
"I hate to tell you this, but they don't care. This ship is going down, and those soldiers, my brothers, are willing to die and take you and me along with them." Rex says pointing to the clones outside with his right-hand and gesturing to himself with both hands on his chest
Everything in the room fell silent after that. The female Togruta places her hands on Rex' helmet and she gently lifts it up to look upon his face. Tears were streaming down from his eyes, though Rex turned away to try and hide them.
"You're a good soldier, Rex. So is every one of those men down there. They may be willing to die, but I am not the one who is going to kill them." Ahsoka says
"So, we're just gonna surrender? Admit defeat? Is that it?" Rex asks
"No." Ahsoka says
"Well, I don't see any other option." Rex says
Looking back down at Jesse and his men, Ahsoka studied the scene and noticed something that would definitely help with their escape.
"I have an idea." Ahsoka says
Rex raises his right-eyebrow, slightly worried, yet curious as to what Ahsoka had in mind.
"Don't worry. It's a good one... I think." Ahsoka says turning back to Rex and handing him his helmet back
The female Togruta turns around to the three astromech droids on her right and kneels down to them.
"Can I count on the three of you?" Ahsoka asks
R7-A7 and RG-G1 both beeped while CH-33P chirped and gave Ahsoka a salute with his robotic arm.
"Good. I'll explain on the way." Ahsoka says
Leaving hangar control, Ahsoka, Rex, and the three droids run back out into the halls of the Star Destroyer as they prepare to head down to the hangar.
Back on Coruscant, the Jedi Temple, the once proud structure of the Jedi Order now stood as an empty, destroyed ruin with a huge column of smoke still visible for miles from last night's attack. At the entrance of Procession Way, Devon, Obi-Wan and Yoda stood together as they fought off a large garrison of clone troopers that were stationed at the temple.
Yoda spun around with his green lightsaber, deflecting blaster bolts away from all the clones that surrounded him. He decapitates a trooper behind him with a high right slash, deflects a blaster bolt back at another clone on his left, which strikes him in the chest, then thrusts his left-hand forward at another trooper, blasting him away with a Force push and sending him flying into two of his brothers behind him. Moving onto the next group, Yoda cuts through one clone, slicing his right-arm off, then throws his green lighsaber at another clone, impaling him in the chest. Running up to the trooper, the short Jedi Master jumps onto the clone's chest and grabs his lightsaber as he falls onto his knees, then leaps forward at two other troopers that ran towards him.
Obi-Wan cuts one clone trooper across the chest with a right slash and deflects a blue bolt back at another trooper from the front. A third clone fires his blaster carbine at Obi-Wan, only to miss as the Jedi Master dodges and leans his body to the left, causing it to hit a fourth trooper that was behind him. The clone fires another shot at the Obi-Wan, but he deflects it with his blue lightsaber, sending the shot back and striking the trooper in the chest.
Devon twists his body around from left to right, spinning his crystal Keyblade: Soul Calibur around in his right-hand, deflecting blaster bolts and sending them back at three clone troopers, then thrusts his left-hand at another one, throwing the clone back with a telekinetic blast. Turning back to his left, Devon faces five troopers, who ran toward him, firing their carbines at him. He deflected five of their shots, holding Soul Calibur up, down, left, and right, then telekinetically sweeps them away to the left with a wave of his offhand. Moving onto his next target, Devon leaps forward at a clone trooper, deflecting three of his shots, then raises his crystal Keyblade over his right-shoulder with both hands, delivering a wide left slash across the trooper's body. He follows up with a jumping roundhouse kick using his right-foot, knocking the blaster carbine out of the clone's grip, a right slash to the stomach, causing the trooper to lurch forward, a rising right-knee strike to the head, which knocks him off his feet, then he kicks the clone away with a kick to the chest using his left-foot. Another group of clone troops, four to be precise, run toward Devon, assaulting him with a hail of blaster fire. The Keyblade Wielder dashes forward with fast speed and stretches his left-hand, deflecting the blue bolts away telekinetically with the Force as he closes distance with the clones. He takes down the first two with a jumping kick to clone's head on his left with his left-foot and a spinning left slash to the other, then rolls forward and spins around to the left, delivering low slash to the third clone on his left, sweeping him off his feet, and a rising uppercut slash to fourth one.
Obi-Wan thrusts his lightsaber at a trooper on his right, stabbing him through the stomach, cuts another one also on his right across the waist with a left slash, then deflects two shots from another trooper on his left and dispatches him with a thrusting strike and an upward slash, finishing off his group of clones. Yoda cuts down one clone, then quickly deflects a blaster bolt back at the clone behind him with a left swing of his lightsaber, finishing with his side of the battle. The last six remaining clones open fire on Devon with their weapons, but the young teen leaps up into the air with a somersault, dodging the blaster fire, and drops down into the center of the trooper squad, smashing his left-fist into the floor and unleashing a strong telekinetic shockwave that blew away the last of the clones, creating ripples in space.
The battle was over and everything in the temple fell calm and silent. After dealing with the clone troopers, Yoda and Obi-Wan both switch off their lightsabers and walk over to Devon, who stands up straight with a calm yet serious expression, dismissing Soul Calibur from his right-hand in a flash of blue light, and the three heroes proceed further into the Jedi Temple to begin their investigation.
Over at the Galactic Senate Building, a special meeting was held in the Senate Chamber as Palpatine stood on the Chancellor's podium with Vice Chair Mas Amedda on his right and Senior Administrative Aide Sly Moore on his left, delivering his speech to all the senators, delegates, and members of the Galactic Senate, as well as trillions of citizens across the galaxy via holographic broadcasts.
"And the Jedi rebellion has been foiled." Palpatine says
Bail Organa walks into the meeting and joins Padmé, Representative Jar Jar Binks, Captain Typho, and Dormé, who were already in attendance on their repulsorpod. The Alderaan politician sits down next to the Naboo Senator on her left and leans close to her, asking about the meeting.
"What's happened?" Bail asks
"The Chancellor's been elaborating on a plot by the Jedi to overthrow the senate." Padmé says
Bail and Padmé look back at Palpatine as he continued with his speech.
"The remaining Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder will be hunted down and defeated!" Palpatine says
A round of applause from the majority of the senators fills the large room while Padmé and Bail watched in disappointment.
Back in the Jedi Temple, Devon, Obi-Wan and Yoda walk along a large bridge in the vast entrance hall, looking around in disbelief at the carnage and the destruction. Scorch marks left from blaster fire riddled the pillars of the temple and bodies of both Jedi and clone troopers lay scattered on the floor.
"Master, I fear for Anakin." Obi-Wan says
"Hmm, clouded his fate, concerned for him I am." Yoda says nodding his head in agreement
The Keyblade Wielder and two Jedi Masters soon came upon a group of dead Jedi younglings and they stared in horror.
"Not even the younglings survived." Obi-Wan says
"This is terrible." Devon says
"Killed not by clones. This Padawan. By lightsaber he was." Yoda says
"A lightsaber?" Devon asks
Devon and Obi-Wan both kneel down to one of the Jedi younglings and stared at him before looking back at Yoda.
"Who? Who could've done this?" Obi-Wan asks
On Mustafar, as they stood infront of the Separatist leaders, Darth Vader draws his lightsaber in his right-hand and ignites it while Lord Drazor summons his Dark Keyblade: Fear's Shadow in his right-hand, much to the shock and horror of Gunray and the others. Before the Nemoidian guards, who were at their sides could react, Lord Drazor raises his left-hand and lifts them up telekinetically by their throats, causing them to drop their two-handed vibro-axes and grip at their necks.
"M-My lords! W-What are you doing?!" Gunray says
"You have outlived your usefulness, Gunray. There is no place for any of you in the empire. By order of our masters, you must die." Lord Drazor says
Lord Drazor clenches his hand into a fist and the necks of the Nemoidian guards snapped with a sickening crack and they fall dead onto the floor. Thus, the slaughter commenced with Darth Vader cutting down the OOM command battle droid with a left slash of his lightsaber, a wide right slash taking out two security battle droids at once, and impaled a Nemoidian aide through the stomach. A battle droid fires three shots at the Sith apprentice, but he deflects the blaster fire and destroys the droid with a downward slash. After that, he moves onto the Nemoidian Rute Gunnay and Magistrate Passel Argente, killing them both with a right slash across the chest.
Lord Drazor decapitates Po Nudo, an Ualaq Aqualish Separatist with a right slash, causing his head to fly off his shoulders while the rest of his body collapses onto the floor, then moves onto Senator Tikkes of Mon Cala, who backed away terrified. The Dark Keyblade Wielder grips his left-hand into a fist, causing black flames to envelope his it, then thrusts his hand forward, shooting a Dark Firaga spell through his open palm, which blasts a large scorching hole in the Quarren's body.
Back on Coruscant, Palpatine continued with his speech.
"The attempt on my life has left me scarred and deformed. But I assure you, my resolve has never been stronger." Palpatine says
Another round of applause from the Galactic Senate fills the chamber.
Returning to Mustafar, the massacre continued as Lord Drazor move onto Poggle the Lesser and his two Geonosian guards. The Dark Keyblade Wielder thrusts his left-hand forward and attacks the Geonosian on his left with an electric blast, hurling dark blue lightning bolts through his bladed fingers and violently electrocuting the insectoid until it falls to the floor as a black, charred corpse. Turning to the other Geonosian on his right, Lord Drazor thrusts his hand forward and attacks it with a Dark Blizzaga spell, freezing the insectoid completely in ice, then shatters the creature into a million pieces with a right swing of Fear's Shadow. Now approaching Poggle the Lesser, Lord Drazor kills the Geonosian leader with a left slash of his Dark Keyblade, slicing him horizontally in half.
While Lord Drazor executes the Geonosians, Darth Vader cuts down San Hill of the Banking Clan and Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild each with a spinning left slash, then turns his attention to Rune Hakko on his right and walked toward him while he backed away from the Sith apprentice, holding up his hands in surrender.
"Stop! No!" Rune says
Vader kills Rune with a right slash across the chest, slices a security battle droid vertically in half with a downward strike, and executes another Nemoidian aide with a left slash across the chest. Another security battle droids attempts to shoot Vader from behind, but the Sith Lord holds his blue lightsaber down behind his back, deflecting the blaster bolt back at the droid.
Vader glances back at Lord Drazor as he approaches him after finishing his victims, revealing a drastic change in his eyes. Instead of blue, his irises were now a pallid yellow while the rest of his eyes took on a bright crimson hue, a clear corruption of the Dark Side of the Force. The two villains soon turned their attention to Wat Tambor of the Techno Union, who had retreated into the nearby conference room, as they were ready to finish him off.
On Coruscant, Palpatine reaches the conclusion of his speech with one final proclamation.
"In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, the Republic shall be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire!For a safe and secure society!" Palpatine says
With that, the Senate Chamber erupted with an even louder, roaring round of applause from the newly rechristened Imperial Senate. Palpatine's proclamation had received majority support from many of the senators, who believed in the chance after three years of war and carnage. Yet, the few senators, like Padmé and Bail Organa, quietly watched in disappointment. As she looked up at the other senators, Padmé expressed her dissatisfaction.
"So this is how liberty dies... With thunderous applause." Padmé says
On Mustafar, all members of the Separatist Council were dead, except for one: Nute Gunray. The Viceroy looked around at the dead bodies of the council and his fellow Nemoidians with a look of terror on his face, backing away from them. His back soon bumps into Lord Drazor as he stood behind him. Gunray quickly turns around to his left and trembled at the sight of the Dark Keyblade Wielder, who looked down on the Nemoidian with a his evil stare and his eclectic breathing. Gunray soon felt another presence behind him and he turned back around on his right to face Darth Vader as he suddenly appeared before him. Pinned between the two villains, the Viceroy desperately pleads for his life.
"The war is over! Lord Sidious and Lord Thanatos promised us peace. We only want-" Gunray says
Before he could say anything else, Vader slices Gunray across the chest with a right slash while he screams in terror, falling backwards and collapsing onto the floor.
With the death of Nute Gunray and the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Clone Wars was officially over. Having completed their mission, Lord Drazor dismisses Fear's Shadow from his right-hand while Darth Vader switches off his lightsaber, and the two villains walk away, leaving the command center together.
On the Star Destroyer Tribunal, ARC trooper Jesse and his platoon of clone troopers were still waiting for Ahsoka and Rex in the main hangar when the Clone Lieutenant received a transmission from a clone over the comlink.
"Sir, we think Maul might be headed your way. Be aware." Clone Trooper #3 says
Before Jesse could respond to the transmission, he and the other troopers heard a familiar voice.
"Hold your fire!" The voice yells
Looking ahead, Jesse saw Rex walking into the hangar from a doorway with Ahsoka, holding her at gunpoint with the blaster pistols in his right-hand pointed at her while she had her hands behind her head in surrender.
"Hang on. We have Tano and the commander. Send all remaining troops to my position." Jesse says
Jesse and the clone troopers train their weapons on Ahsoka and prepare to fire, but Rex calls them off.
"I said hold your fire, Jesse. I have the situation under control." Rex says
"You have your order, sir. Now execute it or I will!" Jesse says
Ahsoka and Rex stop several feet away from Jesse and the clones and Rex moves around infront of his Togruta friend, keeping the blaster pistol in his left-hand trained on Ahsoka as he talks to his former comrade.
"The order was to execute the Jedi and the Keyblade Wielder for treason against the Republic. The problem is, Ahsoka Tano is no longer a Jedi. Hasn't been for some time." Rex says
"Sir, you said yourself we're under special order from Darth Sidious and Lord Thanatos to eliminate Ahsoka Tano and any other clone who disobeys Order 66." Jesse says
While Jesse was busy talking, Ahsoka looks off to the left with her eyes and saw R7-A7, RG-G1, and CH-33P sneak past the clones in the hangar bay. R7 plugs into a control panel with his scomplink and works on gaining access to the hangar controls.
"Just keep him talking, a little longer." Ahsoka whispers
Rex glances slightly at Ahsoka as he heard her and continues speaking to his brainwashed comrade.
"Jesse. Jesse, listen to me. We've known each other for a long time. If we don't get this right, we will be the ones committing treason, not her." Rex says
Jesse stood silent, lowering his blaster pistols for a moment, but he lifts them back up as he aims them at Ahsoka and his former commander.
"Commander Rex, you're in violation of Order 66. I accuse you of treason against the Grand Army of the Republic. You'll be demoted in rank from commander and subject to execution along with the traitor Ahsoka Tano." Jesse says
As the troopers aimed their weapons at the two heroes, Ahsoka looks over at the droids and saw CH-33P waving his two robotic arms, saying that they were ready on their side, then looks back at Rex.
"Ready?" Ahsoka asks
"Yeah, I didn't much like being a commander anyway." Rex mutters glancing back over his left-shoulder
"Company, ready. Aim!" Jesse commands
Suddenly, an alarm blares in the hangar, attracting the attention Jesse and his clones. With this distraction, Ahsoka seized their chance.
"Now!" Ahsoka says
R7 turns his scomplink and activates the hangar elevators, causing them to drop from under the feet of the clones, sending them falling and screaming. Jesse looks back at his men as they fall to the lower levels, then turns back to face Ahsoka, who thrusts her hands forward at him with a Force push, sending him over and down with the other troopers. Before the other clones could react, Rex tosses Ahsoka her lightsabers and she telekinetically pushes a clone down the hangar elevator, slices off the barrel of the next one with a quick upward slash, rendering it useless, leaving Rex to stun him unconscious, then Force pushes two with a thrust of her hands while Rex stuns the third one. The rest of the clones opened fire on Ahsoka and Rex while they defended themselves, deflecting blaster bolts and stunning the troopers.
During the skirmish, Maul enters the hangar from another doorway on the left inside the hangar bay. He glances over at Ahsoka and Rex as they fend off the clones, then looks at the Nu-class shuttle directly ahead and runs straight for it. RG-G1 catches sight of the rogue Sith and beeps in alarm. As she deflected shots from the troopers, Ahsoka looks toward RG-G1, hearing his loud beeps as he jumped up and down to alert her, and she saw Maul run past them as he ran to steal the shuttle.
"Rex, the ship!" Ahsoka exclaims
Breaking off from the fight, the female Togruta leaps across the gap of the hangar elevator and the clone captain runs around the left-side as they run off in pursuit. Maul glances back over his right-shoulder as he saw Ahsoka running toward him and stops at a nearby hover cart full of supply crates, hurling them at her with the Force.
"You wanted this chaos." Maul says
Ahsoka ducks down, dodging the flying crates as she continued running. With a grunt, Maul throws his hands forward and hurls the cart at Ahsoka, but she leaps over it. Landing close to the rogue Sith, she attacks with her lightsabers, swinging them left and right. Maul leans his body away, dodging the blue blades, and thrusts his hands at the female Togruta with a loud scream, blasting her back with a strong Force push. Ahsoka drives her lightsabers into the floor to slow herself down, but she falls over into the pit of the hangar elevator. Luckily, RG-G1 fires a grappling cable, which she catches, saving her from the fall. Down below, Jesse and the clones regain consciousness from their fall and they open fire on Ahsoka while RG-G1 pulls her up and Rex provides cover fire with his blaster pistols.
"Move it! Move it! Get these lifts activated! Get us up there!" Jesse yells glancing back at two clones who were at a control terminal
"Our panel's locked out!" Clone Trooper #4 says
R7 beeps in a laughing manner. Realizing now that the droids were helping Ahsoka and Rex, Jesse gave his men new targets to shoot.
"Fire on those droids!" Jesse yells
Changing targets, the clones shoot their carbines at RG-G1, but Ahsoka deflects the shots away as she and Rex defend him. While they were busy, Maul enters the cockpit of the shuttle and powers it up for take off. The three landing gears retract and the ship hovers out of the hangar bay. Ahsoka finally climbs back up to the upper level and looks over at her left as she saw Maul preparing to leave with their ride.
"The shuttle!" Ahsoka exclaims
Running ahead with full speed, Ahsoka stops and stretches her hands out, seizing the shuttle with the Force. The sudden jolt shook Maul, making him gasp in surprise. He looks back over his left-shoulder, knowing Ahsoka was behind it, and narrows his eyes, pulling down on the throttle and putting more power to the sublight engines. Ahsoka grunted as she tried to keep her grip on the shuttle. Rex ran over and grabbed her left-hand, helping her as they engaged Maul in a tug-of-war for the shuttle. While they were struggling, R7 turned his head back and beeps in alarm as more clones entered the hangar.
"Incoming!" Rex exclaims
Still holding onto Ahsoka, Rex fires the blaster pistol in his left-hand back at his former squad mates.
"Surround them!" Clone Trooper #5 yells
Eventually, Rex lost his grip on Ahsoka and focused his attention on the clones, holding them off by himself. Ahsoka fell down onto her knees, but she quickly got back up and stretches her hands at the shuttle. R7 rolls up to his master, beeping to warn her of the danger, even though he was directly in the crossfire. The green and red astromech droid turns around to face the clones and blaster bolt strikes R7 in the head, destroying him as he screams and fall backwards. A bolt hits Rex in his left-shoulder, leaving him to shoot with his right-hand for a moment.
"Can't hold them off! Too many of them!" Rex yells
Ahsoka glances over her left-shoulder at Rex as was being overwhelmed, then looks back at the shuttle. She was now forced into a tough decision: Prevent Maul's escape with their only ride off the decaying ship and risk dying at the hands of the clone troopers, or let him go to help Rex. After a moment's hesitation, she closes her eyes upon her decision and lowers her hands, releasing her telekinetic grip on the shuttle. Maul felt the telease on the shuttle and seizes his chance, pushing the throttle as he ascends out of the hangar. Ahsoka stood up straight and watches for a moment as Maul takes off into space, then goes to help Rex fend off the clones.
While the Star Destroyer Tribunal descends toward the large moon, Maul flies away and jumps off into hyperspace to see to his own survival elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy.
Back in the hangar, the clones began surrounding Ahsoka and Rex, shooting their blaster carbines, while they stood back to back, deflecting shots and returning fire. However, more and more clones kept coming into the hangar, replacing those that were defeated. Unable to hold their ground any longer, Ahsoka drives her lightsabers into the floor and telekinetically spins them around herself and Rex, cutting a hole beneath them and dropping down to the lower levels of the hangar. The two heroes rise back up, only to be met by Jesse and his men, who aimed their weapons at them.
"Blast them!" Jesse yells
Just as the clones open fire, CH-33P plugs into the hangar controls and raises the elevators, sending the troopers back up to the upper level. The two droids look at each other and RG-G1 beeps in a laughing manner like R7.
"Hey!" Jesse says
RG-G1 and CH-33P turn to Jesse and five other troopers as they stood infront of them. CH-33P held up two mechanical arms in surrender, but that wouldn't save them.
"Blast those dirty droids." Jesse commands
The clones open fire on the two astro droids, reducing them to scrap while they screamed. At this point, the Star Destroyer Tribunal fully enters the moon's atmosphere, burning up in flames.
Down below, Ahsoka leaps across the gap of the hangar lifts and spreads her hands out to her sides, blasting the few clone troopers away with a Force push, then runs with Rex down the repair bays as they attempted to find a working starship. The only ships that were onboard were BTL-B Y-wing starfighter bombers, most of which were useless.
"Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Everything down here is under maintenance." Rex says
"There!" Ahsoka exclaims pointing with her right-hand
Ahsoka and Rex looked ahead at a repair bay and they saw a Y-wing starfighter docked above a large opening in the Star Destroyer's hull, which appeared to be fully functional, enough to help them escape.
The BTL-B Y-wing starfighter was a mainstay of the Republic Navy, intended to serve as a combination between starfighter and long-range bomber. It had two large Koensayr ion jet engines, along with nacelles carried by a cross wing, which connected to the wedge-shaped cockpit module by a central spar. For its armament, the Y-wing came equipped with two medium laser cannons on the nose, a rotating bubble turret with sn ArMek SW-4 light ion cannon manned by a tailgunner, two MG7 proton torpedo launchers with six torpedoes each, and proton bombs. The starfighter also had Chempat deflector shields for defense, a hyperdrive system for hyperspace travel, and a socket for an astromech droid.
Suddenly, blue bolts shoot past Ahsoka and Rex as more clones arrived on the lower level, firing their weapons at them.
"Get me over there!" Rex yells as he stuns two troopers on his right
Heading for the Y-wing, Rex runs around the side of a hangar elevator while Ahsoka leaps across the gap. The female Togruta defended herself against the blaster fire and the clone captain made a run for the ship. Pausing for a moment, Ahsoka turns around to her left and thrusts her hands forward at Rex, throwing him onto the Y-wing with a Force push. However, this distraction caused a blaster bolt to nick her in the right-shoulder, forcing Ahsoka to face the clones as she deflected their shots with her lightsabers and thrusts her left-hand forward at a group of clones, blasting them away with a Force push.
On the bridge, the clone officers try to control their descent as the leading officer turns to his right, pointing at another officer with his right-hand.
"We've entered the atmosphere. Fire retro-rockets." Clone Officer #1 says
"We've lost control. We're gonna break apart-" Clone Officer #2 says
Suddenly, a huge explosion destroys the command bridge, killing all the officers onboard. Now completely out of control, the strickened Venator Star Destroyer careens on a collision course with the moon's surface.
Everyone in the hangar was suddenly thrown off their feet as the ship tilted in it's descent while Rex manages to climb into the cockpit of the Y-wing. Ahsoka slides down the floor as well, much to Rex' shock as he removes his helmet, but she drives her lightsabers into the floor to brake her own slide.
"Come on!" Rex yells
Holstering her lightsabers, Ahsoka makes a run for the starfighter, but the ship was knocked from its mooring just as she leaps for it. Both the ship and the female Togruta fall out of the bay and into open air. The Y-wing tumbles through the air while Rex struggled to find the power button for the ship. He soon finds it and powers up the starfighter as it hums and whirs to life. Regaining control of the Y-wing, Rex puts all power to the engines and flies back to the plummeting Star Destroyer to find Ahsoka, flying through the smoke and around flying debris. Eventually, he finds her on the right as she is in free fall. Rex presses a button on the controls, opening the gunner's cockpit and moves the ship closer to his friend. Ahsoka grabs the lid, but she loses her grip and is blown away. Still in her fall, Ahsoka saw a large piece of the broken sublight thruster from the Star Destroyer and she dives toward it. She lands and runs along the side of engine while Rex moves the Y-wing closer. Upon reaching the bottom, Ahsoka jumps off and descends toward Rex as he flies the starfighter underneath her, stretching her right-hand toward the gunner cockpit. She misses three times until finally she grabs the edge and pulls herself inside, pulling the lid down over her. Once Ahsoka was in, Rex pulls the Y-wing away from the Star Destroyer as it crashes onto moon's surface, killing everyone still onboard. Rex breathes a sigh of relief while Ahsoka stares at the sky and the clouds where the Republic ship had vanished.
On Coruscant, Devon, Obi-Wan and Yoda reach the central security center of the Jedi Temple, which was at the base of the High Council Tower after spending nearly a whole day sneaking through the temple. Sealed behind blast doors, the security center was equipped with four monitoring stations, each one housing holoscreens and holotables. Further down to the left was a doorway that gave access to a beacon chamber. The room was large and circular, filled with towering data banks that were intersected by hallways. Each one glowed green in the dim light and the aisles met in a large open space in the center of the room like axles on a wheel.
Devon and Yoda stood outside in the security room while Obi-Wan was inside the beacon room, switching the outgoing message that was encoded in the beacon. Soon, he was finished with his task and the Jedi Master looks over at Devon and Yoda outside on his left.
"I've recalibrated the code, warning all surviving Jedi to stay away." Obi-Wan says
"For the clones. To discover the recalibration, a long time it will take." Yoda says
"And by the time they realize, any Jedi survivor will be far beyond their reach." Devon says
"Hmm. Leave we should before more clones arrive." Yoda says
The trio began making their way out of the security center until Obi-Wan stops and looks down at Yoda on his left.
"Wait, Master. There is something I must know." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan walks down two steps and approaches a holotable at the left-side station closet to the door leading out of the security center to access the holographic recordings stored inside. Devon walks over to the holotable as well, curious to know who was responsible for this horrible attack on the temple. Yoda stood where he was and warned them of what they might find in the recordings.
"If go into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find." Yoda says
"I must know the truth, Master." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan activates the holoprojector and presses a fast-forward button on the right, which quickly sped up the video footage of the holograms. Devon and Obi-Wan watch as the projector went through dozens of recordings until it stops at a certain point and plays normally. In the recording, Anakin slaughters a class of Jedi younglings, parrying their blows and cutting them down with ease. Yoda closes his eyes and murmurs softly while Devon and Obi-Wan watched in horror.
"No..." Devon gasps
"It can't be. It can't be." Obi-Wan says
The recording soon showed Anakin and Lord Drazor as they kneeled before Palpatine and Lord Thanatos.
"Lord Thanatos!" Devon gasps
"You have done well, my new apprentice." Palpatine says
Six seconds into the recording, Lord Drazor and Anakin rise up onto their feet as Palpatine continues speaking.
"Now, Lord Vader, go and bring peace to the Empire." Palpatine says
With a pained expression, Obi-Wan reaches for the holotable controls with his right-hand and shuts off the projector, causing the recording to break up and fade away.
"I can't watch anymore." Obi-Wan says
Devon walks away towards the door and leans against the wall with his left-hand while he placing his right-hand over his chest, feeling a great pain in his heart as he sighed with a shuddering breath. He could not believe what he just saw. Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, now a Sith Lord. A pawn to Palpatine and Lord Thanatos no less. But why? How could he turn to the Dark Side and betray the Jedi Order like this?
"Anakin... Why? How could he do this?" Devon asks
"Destroy the Sith we must." Yoda says tapping his cane once on the floor
Devon's eyes snapped wide open and a gasp escaped his breath when he heard this. Both he and Obi-Wan turned to Yoda and approached him, not liking the idea of striking down their best friend.
"Send me to kill the Emperor. I will not kill Anakin." Obi-Wan says
"I'm going too. I'd rather face Palpatine and Lord Thanatos than Anakin." Devon says
"To fight this Lord Sidious and Lord Thanatos, strong enough you are not." Yoda says
"He is like my brother. I cannot do it." Obi-Wan says
"He's our best friend." Devon says
"Twisted by the Dark Side young Skywalker has become. The boy you trained, gone he is. Consumed by Darth Vader." Yoda says
"We do not know where the Emperor and Lord Thanatos has sent him." Obi-Wan says
"Where can we even look?" Devon says
"Use your feelings, Obi-Wan, Devon, and find him you will." Yoda says
Having said that, Yoda takes his leave to face Palpatine and Lord Thanatos while Devon and Obi-Wan remained in the security center, watching him go. Overwhelmed by what they just discovered, the Keyblade Wielder sat down on the top of the steps to the lowered station and rested his arms on his knees. He then rested his head on his closed right-hand while his other hand rested over it, closing his eyes with a sigh. As he sat down, Devon pondered in thought, wondering how he and Obi-Wan would be able to find Darth Vader. After a ten seconds of thinking, the young teen lifted his head up as an idea came to him.
"I know who we can ask. Come on." Devon says
Rising up to his feet, Devon heads out of the security center with Obi-Wan following him. There was only ever one person that Vader would go to. If anyone knew where to find the Sith Lord, it was her.
Following Devon's instincts, he and Obi-Wan both took two DC0052 speeders from the Jedi Temple and flew to the senate apartment complex where they meet Padmé in the veranda of her suite. When they met her, Padmé was wearing a black dress and a four-layered silver metal hairband on her head while the rest of her hair was tied in two sections into a ponytail.
"When was the last time you saw him?" Obi-Wan asks
"Yesterday." Padmé says
The Naboo Senator turns around and walks toward the sitting area of the veranda while the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master followed her.
"And do you know where he is now?" Devon asks
"No." Padmé says
Right away, Devon and Obi-Wan could tell that Padmé was reluctant to give the location of her husband, but they needed to find him.
"Padmé, we need your help. He is in grave danger." Obi-Wan says
"From the Sith?" Padmé asks turning back to her left
"From himself. Padmé... Anakin has turned to the Dark Side." Obi-Wan says
Padmé stared at Obi-Wan with a shocked expression.
"You're wrong. How could you even say that?" Padmé asks
The Jedi Master walks past the Naboo Senator on her left and places his right-hand on his bearded chin.
"I have seen a-a security hologram... of him... killing younglings." Obi-Wan says
"Not Anakin. He couldn't." Padmé says
"Padmé, it's true. I saw it too." Devon says
"He was deceived by a lie. We all were." Obi-Wan says turning around to his right to face Padmé
"That's right. It turns out Palpatine was behind everything, including the war. He's even partnered with Lord Thanatos, the Dark Keyblade Wielder that I've been fighting. Palpatine is really Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord we've been looking for." Devon says walking infront of Padmé
"And after the death of Count Dooku, Anakin became his new apprentice." Obi-Wan says
Padmé turns right away from the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master in utter anguish and disbelief and sits down on the right-side sofa.
"I don't believe you. I can't." Padmé says
Devon and Obi-Wan walk over to Padmé and sit down next to her with Devon closer to her.
"Padmé, we must find him." Obi-Wan says
The Naboo Senator turns her head right at the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master as a frightening thought came into her mind.
"You're going to kill him, aren't you?" Padmé asks
Devon and Obi-Wan stared silently at Padmé for four seconds before they responded to her.
"He has become a very great threat." Obi-Wan says
"Padmé, please. He's a danger to himself and others. He'll hurt innocent people. We've got to stop him." Devon says
Padmé shook her head and looked away.
"I can't." Padmé says
The Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master rise up from the sofa and step away from the Naboo Senator as she lowers her head in anguish. Then, Obi-Wan glances back at Padmé on his right, sensing something else.
"Anakin is the father, isn't he?" Obi-Wan asks
Padmé glanced up at Obi-Wan as he said this, but said nothing and glanced back down in silence.
"I'm so sorry." Obi-Wan says
Knowing that they would get nothing else from the Naboo Senator, the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master devide to take their leave and walk back to their speeders. Devon stopped and looked back at Padmé on his right for a moment, catching her attention, but he closes his eyes and turns away, continuing toward his speeder.
On Mustafar, in the Klegger Corp Mining Facility, the charred, slashed, bisected, decapitated bodies of the Separatists littered floors of the command center, which was now silent and still.
Outside Lord Drazor and Anakin stood outside, staring out at the white sun as it shined through the black clouds and surveying the violent landscape around them. However, Anakin weeps over his violent actions with tears streaming down his face, knowing now he can never return to the light. His soul now belonged to darkness and nothing he could do can ever change that.
On the other side of the Distant Galaxy, the Star Destroyer Tribunal had finally crashed on the moon's surface, carving a great gouge in the ground. After surviving their ordeal, Ahsoka and Rex landed their Y-wing infront of the wreckage and they salvaged supplies and parts from the ship to repair the starfighter and the destroyed R7, who they had recovered from the Tribunal. After finishing his task, Rex walks back to the Y-wing and loads a shovel and some other supplies into the starfighter, then looks over at Ahsoka on his right as she stood in the distance by herself.
Ahsoka wore a brown cowl that blowed gently in the wind, standing before the graves of dozens of clone troopers, including Jesse, each marked by their helmets on poles. Anguish and defeat filled Ahsoka's heart as she stared at the graves of the soldiers who had once followed and honored her. Then, she looks down at the lightsaber in her left-hand. She was deeply reluctant to leave it at first, but she knew she had to in order to fake her death and ensure her survival from the Empire. And so, Ahsoka drops her erstwhile Jedi weapon as it clatters to the ground. As soon as she did that, her holocommunicator began beeping as she was receiving a transmission. Unclipping it from her belt, Ahsoka holds up her communicator in her right-hand and Devon's hologram appears.
"Ahsoka. Glad to see you're still alright. I've been worried about you since..." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder stopped when he saw the sorrow in face of the female Togruta.
"Are you okay? Is everything alright?" Devon asks
"Yeah. I'm fine." Ahsoka says
"No, you're not. I can see it in your eyes. What happened?" Devon asks
Ahsoka stood silently for a moment before she tells Devon of their ordeal.
"They're gone, Devon. The Tribunal's crashed and everyone's dead. Rex and I are the only ones left." Ahsoka says
Through his hologram, Devon stared at Ahsoka with a sympathetic expression. She really must've cared for the clone troopers who were under her command, even though they had been brainwashed by the inhibitor chips to kill her.
"I'm sorry, Ahsoka. I'm sure they were good soldiers. I got some news for you too. The Jedi Temple's completely destroyed. All the Jedi inside, including the younglings are dead. No one's survived." Devon says
"Then it's over." Ahsoka says
"Ahsoka? What are you talking about?" Devon says
"Maul's vision was true. The Jedi are all gone and the Republic has fallen. The Sith won. There's nothing left." Ahsoka says
Devon was surprised to hear that Maul predicted this galaxy-wide genocide before anyone else, but he would not press it any further. Instead, he focused on Ahsoka's well-being, wondering what she would do.
"I see... So, what is it you plan to do now?" Devon asks
"Go into hiding, for the most part. And maybe, I'll try and help any survivors that may also be in hiding." Ahsoka says
"That's probably for the best. I guess this is goodbye." Devon says
"Yes. For now this is where we part ways. Thank you, Devon, for everything. I hope we meet again someday. I'm really gonna miss you." Ahsoka says
"Me too, Ahsoka." Devon says
"Good luck. May the Force be with you." Ahsoka says
After saying farewell to her Keyblade Wielder friend, Ahsoka ends the transmission and drops the holocommunicator. She buries the device in the ground with the Force as she stretches her right-hand out, then stares at the graves and the wreckage of the Star Destroyer with a heartbroken expression.
Back on Coruscant, concerned for her husband and wanting to know the truth for herself, Padmé prepares to leave for the Mustafar system on her J-type Naboo star skiff as it stood docked on a landing platform, arriving on her Rian-327 speeder with C-3PO and Captain Typho as he flew her to her starship.
Like its predecessors, the J-type star skiff had a chromium, tear-shaped hull and wide, sweeping wings from the previous royal cruisers, a duller finish, exposed access grills, and discolored Sossen-7 sublight engines as a product of turbulent times. Inside, the star skiff came with standard cabins and compartments, a medical bay, and lockers.
The starship was all fueled up and ready to go. All that was needed was its owner. Padmé was about to board her ship, Captain Typho offered to join her.
"Milady, let me come with you." Typho says
"There's no danger. The fighting's over. And this is personal." Padmé says
"As you wish, milady. But I strongly disagree." Typho says
"I'll be all right, Captain. This is something I must do myself. Besides, 3PO will look after me." Padmé says
Having said that, Padmé walks up the ramp and boards her ship while Typho walks back over to his air speeder.
"Oh, dear." C-3PO says
Despite the nervousness in his programming, the gold protocol droid follows his mistress onto the starship, accompanying her on the journey to Mustafar. As soon as Padmé and C-3PO boarded the ship, Devon and Obi-Wan appeared from their hiding spots on the left-side of the boarding ramp and they climbed up and quietly snuck aboard.
Inside the cockpit, C-3PO took the controls as he piloted the starship while Padmé sat next to him on the right in her seat. For her trip, Padmé wore a tan sleeveless shirt, white skintight pants, and brown high boots.
"Do you know? I think I'm starting to get the hang of this flying business. Hmm." C-3PO says
Elsewhere on the the J-type star skiff, as the ship's engines were revving up, Devon and Obi-Wan sneak into an empty cabin and sit down in their seats. Obi-Wan closes the door with the Force as he waves his right-hand to the right and the two heroes made themselves comfortable.
As they sat quietly in the cabin, Devon stared down at the holocommunicator in his right-hand after his last conversation with Ahsoka. Like her, he was feeling heartbroken himself. However, he tried to stay positive, believing in the chance of a reunion in the future. Focusing back to the task ahead, the Keyblade Wielder placed the holocommunicator back onto his belt and held his hands together.
With all preparations made, the Naboo starship lifts off from the floating landing platform and ascends into space, leaving the Galactic City of Coruscant. However, as the J-type star skiff jumps into hyperspace and heads for its planetary destination, an epic Duel of the Fates and a Battle of the Heroes would soon commence between Keyblade Wielder, Jedi, and Sith on the volcanic planet of Mustafar and in the Galactic Senate back on Coruscant.
Author's Note: Happy 4th of July! And Happy Empire Day! ... Oops! A lot of chaos with this chapter. Darth Vader and Lord Drazor both slaughter the Separatist Council, Ahsoka and Rex survive their skirmish and go into hiding, while the Galactic Empire is finally born! Devon and Ahsoka both bid each other a heart-breaking farewell as they go their separate ways once more, but their paths will cross again someday. Now it's on to the final stage in Revenge of the Sith. To anonymous (guest), I haven't really thought that far ahead into Devon and Luna's relationship and I'd rather not jump to any conclusions. Only two chapters remain until we reach the final conclusion of Devon's journey through the Sleeping Worlds. Next up, the epic Battle of Heroes! Bet you guys can't wait for that.
