Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, in the Subterrel Sector of the Outer Rim Territories was a huge asteroid field known as Polis Massa. And in the middle of this sector was a barren planetoid, which had a research base settled and built on the surface by the Archeological Research Council of the Kallidahnians.
Observation domes overlooked the entire complex and two landing bays provided access to the main base, which included mining operations, a surface vehicle garage, a library, several offices, a communications center, a food production and main habitat area, a bio-medical research station, a main archeological research station, and a medical treatment center. Pressurized connectors linked the base to a waystation dome, a cloning lab dome, and another larger dome, which overlooked a local dig site deep in the planetoid's surface.
Here, Yoda was given refuge after he and Bail Organa fled from Coruscant after the duel with Palpatine and Lord Thanatos. The green Jedi Master sat quietly in deep meditation with his eyes closed in a room when Bail Organa enters to speak with him.
"Excuse me, Master Yoda." Bail says
Yoda opens his eyes and glances back over his left-shoulder at the Alderaan politician as he delivers some hopeful news.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi and Devon have made contact." Bail says
After the epic battle that took place on Mustafar, the chromium Naboo star skiff flies over the asteroid's surface and makes its approach toward the research base. Coming to a stop, the ship hovers over the main landing platform and descends into the shaft, touching down several feet at the bottom. Bail Organa and T7-13 move out onto the platform and meet with Devon, Obi-Wan, C-3PO, and R2-D2 as they descend down the ship's boarding ramp with Obi-Wan holding the unconscious Padmé in his arms. Right away, the Alderaan politician knew the gravity of the situation.
"We'll take her to the medical center. Quickly!" Bail says
Bail Organa leads the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master off the landing platform and into the base with C-3PO, R2-D2, and T7-13 as they rushed Padmé to medical treatment center.
In the Galactic center on Coruscant, the weather was dark and stormy with gray clouds, rain, and lightning as the Theta-class shuttle, carrying Lord Thanatos, Emperor Palpatine, Lord Drazor, and a badly burnt Anakin Skywalker, arrives at the Surgical Reconstruction Center, a skyscraper tower, one of the tallest in the Galactic City, followed by an escort of Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighters.
The Alpha-3 Nimbus were sharp, sturdy, wedge-shaped starfighters developed by Kuat Systems Engineering, the same company that made the Delta-7 starfighter and the Eta-2 interceptor, which utilized fast speed and agility. These starships had two vertical ion engine thrusters and two deflector shield heat sinks, dual rapid-fire laser cannons on both the wing struts, and four folding radiator wings, two on both sides of the vehicle, one above and one below, which were the V-wing's most distinguishing feature, closing forward when landing and spreading vertically when in flight. The starfighters were operated by a single pilot, who was forced to wear a pressurized flight suit, and a Q-7 Series astro-droid copilot, who assisted with maintenance and navigation.
The Theta T-2c shuttle touches down on one of the tower's four landing platforms with one Alpha-3 Nimbus landing just behind it, and dozens of clone shock troopers stood at attention along both sides across the long platform as Lord Drazor exited the transport with four shock troopers following behind him, escorting Anakin as he laid inside a medical repulsorlift stretcher. Two clones walked infront of the capsule while two walked behind at the rear. Lord Thanatos and Emperor Palpatine exit the shuttle next with the Dark Keyblade Master on the left and the Sith Lord on the right, along with their own escort as four shock troopers followed them. Together, they all transport the fallen Jedi into the medical center to have him rebuilt.
Back on Polis Massa, Padmé was placed inside a medical chamber, laying flat on her back over a white oval-shaped hoverbed with a white sheet covering her body, save for her head and bare feet, while Kallidahnian doctors looked her over. Devon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Bail Organa, T7-13, C-3PO, and R2-D2 waited outside behind the glass when a GH-7 medical droid approaches them.
The GH-7 medical droid was a multi-purpose diagnostician, surgical assistant, anesthesiologist, and hematologist of considerable intelligence. It had a roughly humanoid torso, three arms, two of which were connected to the right-shoulder and single-hinged with three dual-hinged digits, and a central hammer head unit with a flat face and a long sloping crest in the back. The droid was mostly grey and black with a bright green holoprojector, display, photoreceptors, and a blue symbol on it's chest for the analysis chamber. On the droid's chest was a built-in tray that held tools like scalpels, bone spreaders, and other diagnostic tools. Unlike other medical droids, the GH-7 moved around on a single whisper-quiet repulsorlift cell.
Devon walked up to the floating droid in two steps ahead of the group, eager and worried to know of Padmé's current condition.
"How is she?" Devon asks
The GH-7 droid spoke with a gentle, calming masculine voice as he gave his diagnosis of Padmé.
"Medically, she's completely healthy. For reasons we can't explain, we are losing her." The GH-7 droid says
"You mean she's..." Devon says
"She's dying?" Obi-Wan says
"We don't know why. She's lost the will to live. We need to operate quickly if we are to save the babies." The GH-7 droid says
"Babies?" Bail asks
"She's carrying twins." The GH-7 droid says
Devon's eyes widened in surprise. He had no idea that Padmé was pregnant with children, let alone with twins. The Keyblade Wielder remembered in their last conversation with the Naboo Senator that Obi-Wan mentioned Anakin as the father, but it slipped his mind, having been preoccupied with finding the fallen Jedi. Devon glances off to the left for a moment before his gaze returns to Padmé, watching her as she laid peacefully on the medical bed with holographic screens on her right showing her heart rate on a green heart monitor, body temperature, blood pressure, and two monograms of the babies inside her.
Meanwhile on Coruscant, Anakin was undergoing his own surgery, laying flat on his back over a cold, silver metal table in a dark laboratory.
The entire surgery is carried out in true Dark Side form with the fallen Jedi wide-awake and unanesthesized, intended to make him stronger and deepen his connection to the Dark Side. A DD-13, two 2-1B-series, and an FX-9 medical droid surrounded Anakin as they performed the reconstruction surgery while several viper droids floated around them in observation.
A DD-13 surgical droids was one specifically designed to install cybernetic implants and perform organ transplants. The droid stood tri-legged on a tripod with grey plating, two modulator arms, and small, circular orange sensors around its cylindrical head.
A 2-1B-series was a highly advanced and intelligent medical droid equipped with encyclopedic memory banks
An FX-9 was a droid that had multiple arms with various surgical attachments, including hypodermic injectors and dispensers, designed to assist in medical operations. It had a cylindrical body and, much like the FX-7, only this one had black plating and orange sensors around its head.
The DD-13 fitted cybernetic implants onto Anakin's limbs, the 2-1B-series picked away the remaining chars of clothing and flesh from the Sith Lord's body, and the FX-9 supplied Anakin with blood transfusions, while he screamed and writhed loudly in excruciating agony throughout the entire operation.
Returning to Polis Massa, Padmé sobbed and whimpered as she was now giving birth to her baby twins. Devon and Obi-Wan stood in the chamber by Padmé's right-side with the Keyblade Wielder's right-hand holding her right-hand in support while Yoda, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Bail Organa watch behind the glass of the medical room. Hovering infront of Padmé was a Croon-Tan-B EW-3 Midwife droid.
The Croon-Tan-B EW-3 Machine was a droid designed to assist with the delivery and caring of newborn babies for a variety of species. This droid had a white face inset with a small green right-eye sensor and a large blue left-eye sensor, a bulbous, rotund silver body with thermal cushions inside, two large, green, soft cradling paddles to carefully handle newborns, and an anti-gravity repulsorlift, located in a spherical compartment below the main body.
The first child to be delivered is a boy. The medical droid hovers around to Devon and Obi-Wan, carrying the infant with a soft white rag in it's paddle-like hands.
"Ee-see-tah oy-doh." The Midwife droid says
"Luke." Padmé says
Obi-Wan takes the baby boy from the droid and holds the child in his arms, bringing him close to Padmé, who runs the back of her hand gently across the infant's small head.
"Oh, Luke." Padmé sighs
Baby Luke coos. Then, Padmé screams again as the second newborn comes around. The Midwife droid hovers infront of Padmé's legs, ready to deliver the next child as the crowning takes shape.
"Ooh-bah. Ooh-bah." The Midwife droid coos
Devon looks over at the medical droid on his right, then glances back down at the Naboo Senator, gently patting her hand for comfort and encouragement.
"You can do it, Padmé. One more time. Just breathe." Devon says
Padmé takes a couple erratic breaths, then pushes some more, screaming and gripping her hand tightly on Devon's. The Midwife droid soon comes around with the second baby.
"Ee-see-tah oy dah." The Midwife droid says
"It's a girl." Obi-Wan says
"Leia." Padmé sighs
Devon looked over the baby Luke in Obi-Wan's arms, and the baby Leia in the Midwife droid's paddles with a big smile on his face.
"Congratulations, Padmé! You did it!" Devon says
The Naboo Senator held an exhausted smile on her face as she looks upon the Keyblade Wielder and her two children.
Back on Coruscant, after two days of nonstop labor, the surgery was nearly complete.
Anakin was now wearing a black, ribbed, padded, flexible, quilted bodysuit that covered everything below his neck, and heavy obsidian black armor that was outfitted with advanced life-support systems to keep him alive and ensure his survival. This armor had ten protective layers, each one made of very strong alloy that would protect him from weapons and explosions. A one piece of pectoral armor, which was grey with several black vertical stripes, protected Anakin's entire upper torso. Around the neck of the full-shoulder pauldron was a black chain, and connecting to the upper seam of the armor was a black, flowing, floor-length, armorweave cape. Underneath the pectoral armor was a black tabard open in the front that reached down to the ground, and around his abdominal area was a black plastoid girdle. On Anakin's chest was a control box that had three slots relating to neural systems data, respiratory systems data, and circulatory systems data for the top, center, and bottom slots, and several rectangular buttons. A blue button was the suit's auto controls, while a red button beneath it was the manual override. A red rightmost switch at the bottom of the box was the system reset, while the other four white switches were programming touching plates. Two shafts on the left and right of the control box were life function sensor arrays. Around Anakin's black belt, which went over his tabard, had three metal boxes around the front. The middle one had a silver electromagnetic clasp adorning it that included a release button and audio sensors. The other two boxes were symmetrical blocks decorated with several green, yellow, and gray buttons. The left box was the respiratory controls, which contained six gray knobs for manual adjustment, a red system active indicator button, two green buttons composing of a reset switch, an auto/manual toggle, and a gray rectangular surface that acted as a CO2 vent. The right box were the temperature controls, containing two green buttons that had the same purpose as the green buttons on the respiratory controls, a heat vent below the green buttons, a system active indicator button, and manual adjustment knobs. On his hands were black reinforced gauntlets, made with micronized Mandalorian iron weave, and shiny black all-terrain combat boots with shins of durasteel.
Only one thing remained to complete the operation. A mechanical arm comes around to Anakin with a face mask and holds it up over him.
The mask had an exaggerated, angular skull-like face with two bulbous optical lenses for the eyes with two ridges above them, a ridged, round silver nose, cheekbones that curved slightly to join the nose at its base, and a triangular grill.
Slowly, the mask is lowered down to the Sith Lord. Inside the mask were many needles made to poke Anakin's flesh and interface with him, and the eyes of the mask snap open with a red HUD display inside.
Soon, the mask came down to the hermetic collar, which was wrapped around Anakin's neck and slanted forward in the front, with the bottom of the grill meeting first before the rest of the mask falls and wraps halfway around Anakin's face, connecting through electromagnetic clamps with a soft thud. Then, the helmet slides in behind him, which was carved to fit around Anakin's head and show his face. A raised ridge ran from between his eyes to the back of his head. The helmet locks onto the circular magnectic interface that crowned the mask with a pressurized seal, creating a soft thud and a hiss. With that, the Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker, was officially dead. And the new Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, was reborn as he took his first signature mechanical breath with his mechanized lungs through the ventilator of his mask.
On Polis Massa, Padmé was now entering the last few minutes of her life. Her breathing grew slow and heavy as her body began to shut down. Knowing that her time was growing short, the Naboo Senator used every ounce of her strength as she spoke to the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master with her dying breath.
"Obi-Wan... Devon..." Padmé says
A saddened expression formed on Devon's face as he and Obi-Wan stared down at the dying senator.
"Padmé..." Devon says
Using even more of her strength, Padmé lifts her right-hand up, reaching for Devon and taking hold of his hand. Devon glances down at Padmé's hand, then looks back up at the senator as she shared with them a faint, hopeful belief concerning Anakin.
"There's good in him... I know. I know there's... stilll..." Padmé says weakly
Padmé's head slowly falls limp to the right and she sighs her final breath as her strength finally gives out with her grip loosening up in the Keyblade Wielder's hand. Devon's eyes widened with a quiet gasp escaping his breath. He stares at Padmé's silent form for at least six seconds until he is overcome with sadness with tears welling up in his eyes. Heartbroken, the Keyblade Wielder shuts his eyes, causing the tears to stream down his face, and rests his head on Padmé's hand, letting out a whimper. Yoda, feeling heartbroken also, shuts his eyes and lowers his head with his ears drooping.
With his surgery complete, Darth Vader is raised to a vertical standing position in the laboratory until it stops with a loud thud. Palpatine stood next to him on his left with Lord Thanatos and Lord Drazor.
"Lord Vader. Can you hear me?" Palpatine asks
Answering to his Sith Master, Darth Vader speaks through his vocabulator, which gave him a deep voice.
"Yes, Master." Vader says
The black armor clad Sith Lord turns his head left and looks at his master, asking about his wife.
"Where is Padmé? Is she safe? Is she alright?" Vader asks
Seeking to sever the old ties of his apprentice and permanently cement his heart to the Dark Side, Palpatine lied and told Vader the tragic death of his wife.
"It seems, in your anger, you... killed her." Palpatine says
"I... I couldn't have... She was alive! I felt it!" Vader says
Suddenly, the entire laboratory began to shake as Darth Vader moans in rage, shame, and grief. Through the Force, Vader crushes the cylindrical body of the FX-9 inwards, shattering the vials of medicine, creates huge dents in the sides of the room, and destroys the DD-13, causing the tri-legged droid to fall forward onto the floor. Soon, the Sith Lord breaks out from his metal bonds, ripping his left-hand free first, then his right-hand, and took one large gait with his right-foot. Vader bends over with a deep growl of anger, then rises up, letting out a bellowing howl of despair, while Lord Thanatos and Palpatine look on with evil grins.
"Noooooooo!" Vader howls
The last shred of hope and love in Vader's heart was now gone, and all that was left for him now was his allegiance to the Empire, his Sith master, the Dark Order, and more importantly to Teridax, the Dark Lord of the Shadows himself.
Following Padmé's death on Polis Massa, the Tantive III arrives on Naboo, descending from the planet's atmosphere and heading down toward the capital city of Theed. Inside the CR70 Corvette, Devon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Bail Organa met in the Conference Room, the same room where Devon had his previous conversation with Ahsoka Tano through his holocommunicator, to discuss the fates of the newborn Luke and Leia. Yoda sat in the front of the table with Devon and Obi-Wan in two chairs on his left, and Bail on the right in his own seat.
"Hidden, safe, the children must be kept." Yoda says
"We must take them somewhere where the Sith will not sense their presence." Obi-Wan says
"Hmm. Split up they should be." Yoda says
"My wife and I will take the girl. We've always talked about adopting a baby girl. She will be loved with us." Bail says
"And Luke? What about him?" Devon asks
"To Tatooine. To his family send him." Yoda says
"I will take the child and watch over him." Obi-Wan says
Devon, Obi-Wan, and Bail stand up from their seats, while Yoda remained planted in his.
"Until the time is right, disappear we will." Yoda says
The Keyblade Wielder, Jedi Master, and Alderaan politician bowed their heads, acknowledging the task ahead. With their meeting concluded, Bail steps out of the room. Devon and Obi-Wan were about to follow him out, but Yoda stops them.
"Devon, Master Kenobi, wait a moment." Yoda says holding up his left-hand
Devon and Obi-Wan sit back down in their seats as the green Jedi Master spoke to Obi-Wan first.
"In your solitude on Tatooine, Obi-Wan, training I have for you." Yoda says
"Training?" Obi-Wan asks
"An old friend has learned the path to immortality. One who has returned from the netherworld of the Force. Your old master." Yoda says
Obi-Wan's eyes widened in surprise upon realizing who Yoda was talking about.
"Qui-Gon?" Obi-Wan says
"How to commune with him I will teach you." Yoda says
The green Jedi Master looks over at the Keyblade Wielder on his left, who was equally surprised to learn that Qui-Gon Jinn had actually achieved immortality.
"Qui-Gon's actually immortal now?" Devon asks
Yoda chuckled, understanding Devon's disbelief.
"Hmm hmm hmm. Impossible to believe, I did too, at first. Helped me to understand the connection between the Living and Cosmic Force did Qui-Gon and others. Possible it is to persist after death. This knowledge I will pass onto you, Devon, if you wish." Yoda says
The Keyblade Wielder actually felt excited. He was given a chance to become immortal, even in death. If he could achieve this feat, then he could watch over his friends and future generations, communicate with them, even interact with the living. A smile formed on his face and Devon nodded his head to Yoda, eager to learn more about this path to spiritual immortality.
Elsewhere on the CR70 Corvette, Bail Organa brought C-3PO, R2-D2, and T7-13 to Raymus Antilles, where they would be put under his service. The captain was speaking with another Alderaan officer when they approached him.
"Captain Antilles." Bail says
"Yes, Your Highness." Raymus says turning to his superior
"I'm placing these droids in your care. Treat them well. Clean them up. Have the protocol droid's mind wiped." Bail says
"What?" C-3PO says baffled
R2 and T7 both whistled and beeped in a chuckling manner.
"Oh, no." C-3PO says
Later that evening, a dark blue-orange sky cast a sorrowful glow over the city of Theed as a massive funeral was held for Padmé Amidala. Thousands of people had gathered to honor the remarkable woman who gave them life, freed their world from occupation, united her people and spoken for democracy. Padmé's body was put inside an open watery casket, wearing a funeral gown of several shades of blue, and her hair fanned appropriately. The casket was drawn in a four-Gualaar carriage.
The Gualaar was a tall, heavily-bodied, quadruped creature indigenous to the hills and mountains of Naboo, domesticated and used as beasts of burden due to their strong strength and build. They had white fur, black eyes, a thick shaggy mane, a large cranial horn, and two smaller horns on their noses.
The people of Naboo lined the streets as they watched the procession, while those most significant to Padmé followed the casket. Jar Jar Binks and former Boss Rugor Nass, along with several members of Padmé's family such as Jobal and Ruwee Naberrie, Sola Naberrie, and Ryoo and Pooja Naberrie, led the procession walking infront of the Gualaars, while Queen Apailana, Governor Sio Bibble, Padmé's former handmaidens, Captain Typho, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, and many other fellow senators followed behind.
Jobal Naberrie was Padmé's mother. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin, wearing a black robe and black mourning cloak with dark tones reflecting the family's sadness and mourning of her daughter's death.
Ruwee Naberrie was a staunch pacifist and Padmé's father. He had ruddy cheeks, blue eyes, light skin, and short, dark brown hair, wearing a somber black and dark red robe.
Sola Naberrie was Padmé's sister. She had light skin, brown hair, and blue eyes, wearing a darkburgundyoutfit with golden details to her sister's funeral, an outfit that closely resembled Padmé's wardrobe as a tribute.
Pooja Naberrie was the youngest of the Naberrie family and Padmé's niece. She hadbrowncurlyhair, browneyes, and light skin, wearing a black dress to show mourning for her aunt.
Ryoo Naberrie was Padmé's second niece and was much more older than Pooja, appearing as a young woman. She hadbrownhair, browneyes, and fair skin, wearing a black hooded dress
Queen Apailana was the new ruling monarch of Naboo, who succeeded Queen Jamillia and Neeyuntee in the final days of the Clone Wars. She had brown eyes and light skin, though she wore white makeup, wearing a purple underdress under a white-gold funeral gown with a purple trim embossed with the royal emblem. She also wore a feather-crested shiraya fan headdress with mourning beads hanging from it that symbolized Naboo's tears.
Mon Mothma was a female human senator from the peaceful planet of Chandrila and a close friend of Padmé. She was a keen diplomat, a firm believer of democracy, and a skilled speaker, who appealed to the hopes, values, and dreams of those who listened. And like Bail Organa, she greatly praised and supported the Keyblade Wielders. Mothma had auburn hair, pale blue-green eyes, and light skin, wearing a white elegant robe offleuréline weave, ashraa silkmantle, and ahanna pendant.
Devon participated in the procession as well, walking closest behind Padmé's casket infront of Queen Apailana, Sio Bibble, the handmaidens, and the other pallbearers, wearing a black cloak to hide his identity, knowing that Palpatine and Lord Thanatos could be watching, while Obi-Wan and Yoda watched from the video screens inside the Tantive III. As they walked through the streets, the Keyblade Wielder gazes down at Padmé's peaceful body infront of him, more importantly the Japor Snippet that was given to her thirteen years ago for good fortune, which rested on her chest in her folded hands, the last remnant of Anakin Skywalker's existence. He held a calm, yet sorrowful expression under his hood with streams of tears flowing down his face.
After the funeral, Devon stood alone inside a mausoleum, the final resting place of Padmé Amidala. Before him was a rectangular sarcophagus that contained her body, the lid decorated with a stylized emblem of Naboo. Also infront of the Keyblade Wielder was a soft blue and green colored stained glass window, which showed an image of Padmé wearing a brown shiraya fan headdress and a blue dress, surrounded by light blue flowers. On either side of the sarcophagus were two columns that held stone pots at the top, both filled with red flowers. Devon stares at the stained glass window for ten seconds, then looks down at the sarcophagus, placing his right-hand on the smooth stone as he paid his respects to the fallen Naboo Senator.
"Padmé... I'm sorry. I couldn't save Anakin this time. But if you believe there's still good in him, then I won't give up. I'll never give up. I don't know how I'll do it or how long it'll take, but I'll do everything I can to bring Anakin back to the light. And I'll look after Luke and Leia. I promise. Sleep well, Padmé Amidala. Thank you, and good-bye." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder soon heard approaching footsteps behind him. Someone was coming. Turning around to his left, he saw Bail Organa walking in with Mon Mothma on his right. The two senators stopped infront of Devon and the Chandrila woman spoke.
"Forgive our intrusion, my dear. Your name is Devon, correct?" Mothma says
"Yes. It is." Devon says
The Chandrila woman bowed her head to the Keyblade Wielder and introduced herself.
"I am Mon Mothma of Chandrila."
Devon bowed his head back in greeting.
"Pleased to meet you, ma'am." Devon says
"It's truly an honor to meet one of the Keyblade's chosen, though I wish it were on better circumstances. I have heard much of your heroic deeds from Senator Amidala. She respected you a great deal." Mothma says
"I suppose you knew Padmé as well." Devon says
"I did. Senator Amidala was the bravest among us all in the Senate. She was a beacon of hope. She gave her life for the galaxy and democracy. Padmé Amidala was a very good friend." Mothma says
"Yeah... She was..." Devon says glancing back at the sarcophagus over his right-shoulder
"Diplomacy and politics can no longer change the galaxy now that the Emperor is in control. Which is why Mon Mothma and I are planning to lead a rebellion to take the fight against the Empire, and the Dark Lord whom you are fighting, Devon. I already have wealth that can fund it, Mon Mothma can provide for soldiers, and I have a friend who can supply us with a fleet." Bail says
"Bail Organa and I will be the founding leaders of this rebel alliance, but we'd be very honored to have you, Devon, in the front line as Alliance Commander." Mothma says
Devon's eyes widened in surprise after what he just heard from Mon Mothma. He pulled his hood back and continued to stare at her and Bail Organa. They actually wanted him to be a leader of this Rebel Alliance?
"Me? An Alliance Commander?" Devon says dumbfounded
"Of course. Your bravery and courage is the inspiration that the galaxy needs. You, Devon, a Keyblade Wielder, are the true symbol of hope." Mothma says
Devon turns away from Bail Organa and Mon Mothma and he glances down in thought before gazing up at the stained glass window of Padmé. He closes his eyes and grips his hands into fists, then open his eyes with a determined look on his face, accepting the position.
"Alright! I'll do it!" Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder turns back around and faces the two senators.
"But we can't go to war just yet. The Empire's already too strong, especially with the Dark Order backing them up. We still need to get Luke and Leia to safety. And I still have to complete my training to become a Keyblade Master." Devon says
Bail and Mothma nodded their heads, understanding the importance of Devon's task.
"We'll do what we can and build our alliance in secret until we can strike back." Bail says
"Padmé fought to defend our liberty and our rights. We won't let her death be in vain. With us, our alliance shall stand strong. Together, we'll take the fight to the Empire and the Dark Order. We'll show them we are not afraid. And we will not stop until Palpatine and Teridax are defeated." Devon says
Devon summons Soul Calibur into his right-hand and holds it vertically infront of him.
"For Padmé! For the Alliance! For freedom!" Devon says
"For freedom!" Bail and Mothma say in unison
And with that, the seeds of the Rebel Alliance had been sown.
On the other side of the Distant Galaxy, three gray Venator-class Star Destroyers hovered in clear space near the planet of Geonosis. In the lead Star Destroyer, Emperor Palpatine stood up on the bridge with Lord Thanatos on his left as they gazed out at the spherical skeleton of a gargantuan moon-sized battle station, which was destined to become a symbol of the Empire. It's name: the Death Star. Numerous construction modules hovered around the spherical skeletal of the station, operated by slaves of various species used to support the building of the project. With the two evil villains was Governor Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin.
Wilhuff Tarkin was an human man of determined iron will, tremendous ambition, intellectual power, and absolute ruthlessness, who sought a career of law enforcement, government, and authority, and was a loyal protégé of Emperor Palpatine and Lord Thanatos. He believed that only the strong and intelligent held power and control over those beneath them, that life was a constant struggle for survival. Not only that, he resented the Jedi Order and the Keyblade Wielders for their independence and their traditional roles as peacekeepers. Tarkin had short auburn hair mostly around the top and sides of his head, blue eyes, and light skin, wearing a grey officer's uniform with white shirt underneath, which was visible from the neck and sleeves, and shiny high boots. On his left-shoulder over his heart was a rank insignia plaque, a rectangular metal badge that showed his rank within the Galactic Empire. On his badge was a row of six blue tiles, and a trio of red and gold tiles underneath, which was the rank of a Grand Moff. He also had a pair of code cylinders on both sides of his tunic.
Lord Thanatos and Emperor Palpatine were soon joined by their apprentices as they entered the bridge of the Star Destroyer, passing imperial officers, who worked in the lower stations. Lord Drazor stood by his Dark Keyblade Master on his left, and Darth Vader stood next to his Sith Master on his right. Tarkin places his hands behind his back, then turns to his right and walks away, tending to his duties elsewhere, while the four villains continue to watch the construction of the Death Star. When completed, this massive fortress will pack enough power to destroy entire worlds and will spread fear across the Distant Galaxy.
Elsewhere in the Distant Galaxy, Yoda traveled to a green planet in the Outer Rim Territories using an E3-standard starship lifeboat where he would remain in exile. It was a place he had been to before. It's name: Dagobah.
Dagobah was a mysterious, unexplored planet and one of the most purest places in the Distant Galaxy. It was a hot, humid world and a hotbed of life. The surface of the planet was mist-shrouded, mostly covered in swamps, bogs, and forests, interspersed with shallow lakes, lagoons, and multiple caves.
The pod touches down on the misty surface of the swampy planet and the ramp lowers down, welcoming Yoda to his new home. Here, the Jedi Master would continue his studies of the Force and wait until the Skywalker Twins were old enough to train one of them in the ways of the Jedi.
Alderaan. A blue-green planet enveloped in a web of clouds. A world of peace and prosperity located in the Core Worlds of the Distant Galaxy. It's surface had vast bodies of water, snow-capped mountains, forests, plains, and green, grassy hills. Cities built from white synthstone were carefully designed to respect the natural beauty of the environment. One such place was Aldera, the capital city. A scenic, picturesque city of gleaming, rounded, white structures, nestled near a large lake and bordered by mountains. Also in Aldera was the Royal Palace of Alderaan, the ancestral home to the Royal Family that ruled the planet, which currently was the House of Organa.
The Tantive III arrives on Alderaan, bringing with it Bail Organa and his adoptive daughter, Leia Organa. The CR70 Corvette flies toward the capital city of Aldera and lands on the spaceport. Bail enters the palace and brought the baby Leia up to his wife, Queen Breha Organa, who was sitting outside on a round balcony that overlooked the city.
Breha Organa was the ruling monarch of Alderaan along with her husband. She was a caring and fair woman, dedicated to peace. She had golden tan skin, brown eyes and black hair that was kept long customary among Alderaan adults, wearing a blue metallic gown with slit sleeves that mirrored the beautiful oceans and tranquil valleys of Alderaan, a collar adorned with agoldbuckle-like brooch, and a silk-like shawl with a transparent veil that had two tails descending above the shoulders, one reaching down to the hem of her robe.
Bail sat down on the balcony next to his wife and presented her with their new foster daughter, who was wrapped in soft white cloth. Breha took the baby in her arms with a big happy smile and the two of them shared a loving moment, staring down at Leia Organa as she stared curiously at her adoptive parents.
On the other side of the Distant Galaxy, Devon and Obi-Wan brought the baby Luke Skywalker to the desert planet of Tatooine, where he would live with his Uncle Owen Lars and his Aunt Beru. It was sunset as the Keyblade Wielder and Jedi Master both arrived at the Lars Homestead on their two Eopies.
The camel-like creatures dropped down on their four legs and the two heroes dismounted, walking over toward Beru, who came out from the dome hut to meet them. Obi-Wan had baby Luke in his hands, who was fast asleep, wrapped in his white cloth, and he hands him over to Beru, who took the child in her arms with a big smile on her face. Beru looks up at Devon and Obi-Wan as they nodded their heads, then she walks away, bringing the child to Owen, who was gazing out at the yellow and red suns nearby. Devon and Obi-Wan watches them for a few moments before they turn to each other. The two heroes bow their heads and they part ways. Obi-Wan walks back to the Eopies, taking both creatures with them as he heads into exile in the Jundland Wastes, while Devon stayed behind on the Lars Homestead.
Owen and Beru look down affectionately at the infant Luke in their arms, then gaze out to the horizon and watch the setting of Tatooine's twin suns. Soon, the farm couple turned around and head into the homestead, waving to Devon as they head down for the night while he waved back with his right-hand. The Keyblade Wielder watched them as they descend into the dome and shut the lights, then turns his gaze toward the twin suns on the horizon. Pulling the hood of his black cloak back, Devon thought about his journey so far in the Distant Galaxy and everything that had occurred.
"I never thought this is how the Clone Wars would end. So many people enslaved. So many Jedi killed. All the worlds lost to the Empire." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder stares out at the two suns and he clenches his right-hand into a fist as determination filled up inside him.
"Palpatine thinks he's won, but this fight isn't over. Not by a long shot. The Jedi Order may be gone, but I'm still here, and I'll always be around to defend the galaxy. As long as I wield the Keyblade and the Force, there will always be hope for the Universe. The Empire may have claimed victory today, but one way or another, we'll take the fight back to them. We'll find a way to rebuild the Republic, bring back the Jedi Order, and restore the peace and freedom that Teridax and Palpatine stole from this world. That's a promise." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder glances up at the dark blue-orange sky and a large, circular section shatters open, revealing the sleeping keyhole. Soul Calibur appears in Devon's right-hand in a flash of blue light, reacting to the presence of the keyhole. A pure aura envelopes Devon's body and his crystal Keyblade begins to shine brightly with its benevolent light. Aiming up at the sky with Soul Calibur, Devon shoots a beam of light, striking the keyhole and causing it to shine brightly. Devon stares at the light, knowing as always that hopes of freedom for the Distant Galaxy and all the worlds in the Universe lies with him. Just as the light engulfs him, Devon thought of Ahsoka Tano and the kiss she gave him in their last meeting onboard the Resolute, hoping to see her again someday.
"Ahsoka, wherever you are, good luck. May the Force be with you. And may your heart be your guiding key." Devon says
Having finally completed his journey through the Sleeping Worlds, Devon leaves the Distant Galaxy and the Realm of Sleep, heading back to the Celestial Temple to fulfill his own destiny and finally become the Legendary Keyblade Master.
