A Megaman NT Warrior cross with MHA. Have fun!
"And this is the world famous Hero Labs. Here they work on all sorts of programming to make the life of Pro Heroes easier," said the teacher.
"How cool!" said a young girl.
"Shut it shitty nerd, no one cares what you think!" said a blond boy next to her with a sneer.
"Why are you so mean Kaa-chan?" complained the girl.
Kaa-chan, or rather Bakugo Katsuki, sneered at her.
"At least I have a personalized Navi. You're just a pathetic nerd who has to use a generic one with crappy settings!"
The girl frowned, and hid her tears through ease of long practice. Her name was Midoriya Ichigo, and she dreamed of being a pro hero.
Rather than counter his words, Ichigo cast a glance at the less than pleased teacher. She knew arguing wouldn't do her any good and would only get her into trouble. Bakugo had a nasty look on his face as he knew she wouldn't argue further.
Ichigo felt the call of nature, and once she had the data she needed to do her report, got permission from the teacher to visit the bathroom.
It was a single wrong turn that sealed her fate.
In a quiet lab...
"Professor...we're ready to begin the experiment again," said a female scientist.
"Good. MegaMan, how are you feeling?"
"Ready to start the test, professor Hikari," said the Navi. He was a specially created Navi, designed to fight generic viruses. The experiment was simple...they wanted to go beyond the standard Navi programming and create a true AI capable of interacting with humans.
Nearby was another experiment, put on pause for the day so they could get the tests done properly. A device that would hopefully materialize digital beings (such as MegaMan, who was a rather special Navi for reasons Professor Hikari refused to go into) into the real world.
So far the tests were running normally. MegaMan was executing commands like predicted. Professor Hikari felt confident that Lan would like his surprise present.
So you could imagine his surprise when a small girl about Lan's age entered the room looking highly confused. Dr. Hikari focused on the tests and vaguely overheard his assistant talking...apparently she had gotten lost while coming back from the upstairs bathroom...there was a door close to the second floor that lead into the lab, and it was doubtful the girl knew or cared about their experiment. A few minor words were exchanged and the girl went to leave the room to return to her class.
That was the moment it happened. The event where everything went horribly wrong.
"Professor! The viruses are attacking the mainframe!"
"What? But the ones we're using are generic!" said Professor Hikari.
"Sir, these are coming from outside! Something seems to be attacking us! I think they're after the Navi data!" said one of the other scientists.
Before Professor Hikari could respond, the machines around them began to crackle with electricity.
Unnoticed, the girl from earlier stood there in absolute shock, unsure of what to do.
MegaMan did what he could, but the lab exploded. The girl was tossed to the side from the shockwave, crashing into the forgotten machine in the corner. It started up with an ominous hum, and as she was knocked unconscious she was unable to move.
Electricity crackled around her as the machine began to malfunction.
A secondary explosion rocked the building. It would be a few hours before the full extent of the damage was discovered.
Ichigo woke up to the sound of battle. Nearby she saw the generic body of her NetNavi Miku badly damaged and clearly unable to fight. She was already starting to digitize and somehow she doubted her Navi would be able to Logout. There was a reason she didn't go near the NetBattle areas.
Barely awake, she looked around in confusion. This wasn't the lab and it certainly wasn't a hospital of any kind. In fact it almost looked digital...which was strange. Looking towards the sound of battle, she saw a small figure desperately trying to deal with the viruses attempting to come after her.
He looked like the NetNavi she saw right before the explosion. He looked exhausted.
Ichigo carefully attempted to get up. Only for her hand to go through Miku instead. It felt funny...like a weird static shock that made her entire body tingle.
There was a slight lull in the attacks. The Navi noticed her.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Where am I?" asked Ichigo. "What happened to Miku?"
"She took a nasty hit...they were trying to attack you directly," he said grimly. "I don't think her data was able to handle it, since her protection programs aren't that strong."
Ichigo winced...she had bought the best defense program she could, mostly to bolster Miku against Bakugo's vicious NetNavi DynoRoar.
She had lost count the number of times Bakugo forced her poor Miku to fight his Navi and forced her to log out.
The tingling in her body was getting worse. To further complicate matters, the viruses were coming back. MegaMan looked downright exhausted, which made sense as there was no way to tell how long she had been out cold. As he sent another charged blast towards the helmeted pests, the blowback caused him to fall towards Ichigo. Her leg was in the digitized remains of her former Navi as she went to catch him, if only out of reflex.
What happened next no one could have predicted.
MegaMan's data merged with her own, and the remnants of Miku glowed before swarming around Ichigo.
"What's going on?!" she cried out in alarm as the lights around her swirled in a strange vortex.
Data swirled around her arms, creating strange gauntlets. Her hair elongated and turned a pale teal reminiscent of Miku's, complete with the ribboned hair-ties, which fell neatly on either side of her head next to her ears. A visor formed around her eyes and a mask covered her mouth briefly. White armor with a heart-shaped pendant formed around her body, with the pendant centered on her chest. A flared skirt that ended an inch below the knee swirled in the non-existent air, and thick black boots formed on her feet. A microphone settled next to her mouth on her right side, the kind professional singers would use on stage so they didn't have to hold a mike. A cute dark blue bow that went just below the knee formed on her backside on her skirt, acting as a sort of belt.
In short she looked a lot like Miku had, except with proper facial features and a few additions.
"What...what's going on?!" said Ichigo shocked.
Without warning the gauntlets on her arms turned into a miniature canon. At the sound of her voice, it blasted a virus into oblivion.
Realizing the situation, Ichigo aimed her blaster at another virus. The blast was ridiculously weak.
"Why won't this work?!"
The next blast was much stronger. Ichigo stared at the blaster, then briefly touched the mike with her free hand. She hummed a bit, and the next blast took a decent chunk out of the next virus.
Not being an idiot, she did the only thing she could think of in that situation.
She started singing the opening song to the short run All Might-based cartoon series she loved. She had the lyrics memorized by heart.
She didn't know where the instincts came from, and right now she didn't really care. She just knew she had to keep blasting to get out of this situation.
Seeing an opening, she bolted to the nearest exit. How or why she knew it was an 'exit', she didn't know.
Once past the door, the viruses were blocked by some unseen force.
Nearly collapsing on her knees, Ichigo gasped for air...only to realize she wasn't breathing.
She was officially starting to panic now.
"Hey...are you alright? That was a pretty nasty zone, wasn't it?" said someone.
Ichigo looked up...there was a NetNavi in primarily pink and yellow coloring.
"I'm Roll. What's your name?" she said smiling.
Wary, Ichigo gave the first name she could think of...that of her dearly departed Navi.
"Miku."
"Is this your first time on the Net?" asked Roll.
Ichigo...or rather "Miku" until she found her way out of this mess...nodded. Better to get as much information as possible while she could.
Roll was super nice, which was a great change of pace considering she was so used to Bakugo's horrible behavior. Then again the sites she usually visited were the same ones he would visit.
More importantly she learned where the safe zones and vendors were. She never really bothered to learn how to battle before, mostly because Bakugo and DynoRoar had put her off on the idea. Her health was at the bare minimum for a Navi, since she preferred actual books to digital ones.
However her instincts were warning her she would need to learn how to fight viruses...and fast.
Fortunately there were sites for complete beginners, and after a bit of experimenting she slowly began to figure out how to operate in this situation.
She was running. Learning how to battle was difficult, but right now she had a bigger issue. Adapting to this strange place had been awkward, but her efforts to get stronger for her own survival had drawn the attention of a certain headache.
DynoRoar was chasing her through the landscape, intent on challenging her.
Bakugo wasn't even ordering him to...he was just so used to challenging anyone remotely strong that when he took notice of her presence he started charging. Either that or he recognized her scent from when Miku was still around...after all, she had been one of his operator's favorite targets.
One of the perks of earning cash from busting basic viruses was that she was able to download some rather basic battlechips. It would use up memory like crazy, and the really good ones were still out of her price range right now, but it made killing viruses easier.
Her habit of analyzing quirks had come in handy, as it had made memorizing virus attack patterns easier.
Seeing an area too small for DynoRoar to charge into, Miku slid under the gap...and into a hole. She didn't even have time to yelp as she found herself falling into an area she didn't recognize at all.
Rubbing her bum a bit, as that had hurt...though not in the physical way she remembered...she looked around cautiously.
"Where am I?"
Seeing something in the distance, she wandered over. Though she kept her blaster ready just in case. Three weeks...(if it wasn't for the weird clock she could access, she never would have been able to keep time at all, not that it helped)...of roaming this weird place had taught her caution if nothing else.
It took her a second to register the floating orb on the pedestal. She also noticed the heavy encryption on the door a bit further. It had the highest security she had seen in her life...definitely not something she would be able to hack her way through. She looked at the floor and frowned...she would swear that logo looked really familiar.
Well, it wasn't like she could get out the way she came in...the opening was locked off with the same heavy encryption as the door and it was way too high up.
Which really left one option.
She scanned the orb. What had been beyond weird had become second nature.
She felt it activate, as something attached itself to her. The bands around her twin tails began to glow as the program installed, and her visor showed some strange code she didn't recognize. Her arm brace, which had a screen attached had a loading bar that swiftly filled up.
Orb number... (Miku could barely catch even a fraction of the numbers and letters that flew past her screen) Installed.
The moment the orb disappeared, the clarion call of multiple alarms went off, and in the distance she could hear klaxons giving off frantic alerts to important people.
Realizing that there would be a large number of people who would likely be very angry at her accidentally installing the orb, she did the only sensible thing she could think of.
She ran to the door, and waited. The second it started to open, she used the chip used to hide Navis from virus attacks and waited a few moments for the guards to run in. At the first opportunity, she fled down the corridor and avoided touching anyone she could.
She barely managed to reach the exit and back into normal space before she was caught, as her chips began to wear off and she only had a very limited stockpile of them.
Once safely in the common space, she made a point to head to the nearest vendor to get some more chips. That was way too close.
