Katara could hate. And for a fact, she hated the Fire Nation. She hated Prince Zuko even more.

But don't be fooled. Zuko could hate just as well. He didn't hate the Fire Nation. He hated his sister. And if it ever came down to it, he could hate Katara even more.

And as they pressed up against each other, his hands holding hers, Katara realized that if this had been one of those love stories her Gran Gran had told her before bed each night this would be where the two lovers confessed their true love. But sadly, this wasn't a love story, but a story about a proud boy and a fierce girl that was caught between trying to save the world and try restoring their own world.

"I hate you," Katara murmered, feeling the warmth from fingers that could probably set fire to her skin (in more ways than one), and looked away.

"I hate you even more," Returned Zuko, clasping her fingers tighter. For a brief moment they kiss, and once again they are fighting.

Sun against moon.

Yin versus Yang.

Heartbeat to teardrop.

And for a moment all is where it should be, and nothing is as it seems.
