Shouri: This is just a little one piece drabble... it's 4X3, but not graphic. I wrote it quite a while ago, in regards to the episode where Trowa and Quatre surrender to each other. It's a Quatre Point of View too... I was trying out new stuff. I know it's short, but I wanted to know what everyone thought of it. If I get enough favorable feedback, I may try something like this again (choose whether I mean one-shots, drabbles, POVs, or 3X4X3). So, on with the ficlet!
When I Saw The Red Ribbon...
I didn't know what I was looking for… what I wanted…
I just needed something. Something…
And there he was.
Silent and sure and oh so aloof...
He didn't even speak or move, he barely seemed to breath... he just stood there watching me watching him, with those feral verdant eyes…
But something in him spoke to me, deep inside.
That cold, empty place at my core... the place where all my sorrow screamed in hollow heartless wails, echoing and painful… it seemed to be bursting open like a dam under pressure. And like a flower starved to the point of death, began to pull desperately at the light that seemed to glow behind his jade eyes, soaking it up like the desert sucks up rain.
He was the something… he was that something I had been searching for all my life, and I didn't even know I was looking in the first place. I didn't even know how desperate I was for this until I found it!
This… this… this must be happiness! This must be what it's like to not feel loneliness, this must be the meaning!
Those eyes… I do not even know his name, but already I can feel him in my soul. I feel as if I have known him for my whole life… like I know him even better than myself…
So quiet… so dangerous… like a predator's gaze, his eyes on mine… yes, that's it. Like a menacing hunting-cat, totally in his element, meeting the gaze of a fellow hunter.
Recognition… respect… wariness and warning…
We are alike. But he… he is a ferocious lion, whereas I am a half-wild ocelot. I am exotic and beautiful, but he… he is awe-inspiring, humbling… a true king among beasts.
He is looking for his place. He is lost.
I can see him, though he tries to hide.
He has the heart of a lion… but it is a broken heart—a lost heart…
Hello, my lonely friend… I am glad to have found you.
And I know that together… together we can find our way home.
Shouri: ... so? What do you think? It's just an image I got... I mean, I've heard Trowa compared to a lion so many times that when I tried to think of what cat Quatre would be, the ocelot seemed the only choice... the only one deceptively built enough that so many people misjudge the level of danger, and with just the right amount of exotic beauty and grace... Anywho, I'd like to know what everyone thinks, so please Review! It'll really help me to bash down this writer's block! kicks the giant Hoover Dam-sized block Tankiwa!
Ja!
Hey guys! It came to my attention through a recent review that some people don't know what an Ocelot is! Which I find to be horribly unfair of mankind. I always feel we as humans should know exactly what we are destroying in our world. Since mankind seems to think it owns this planet, we should take care of it!
If you want to know a bit about the ocelot, a beautiful animal that we nearly caused to go extinct, and which could still disappear from this world forever, check out this site! Just remove the spaces.
