I DREAM OF RAINBOWS
Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

"Mr. Cullen, you are under arrest for sexual harassment in Seattle Washington."
"What the hell did you say?"
But no further information was given, and Edward was handcuffed then put in the police cruiser to be taken down to the police station for booking.
CHAPTER 34: MORE SECRETS
Edward was taken immediately down to the police station and was put into a holding cell until he could be booked. During that time Edward kept demanding to make a phone call, but he wasn't sure who he should call. How the hell was he going to explain any of this to any member of his family when he wasn't sure who had filed the charges. Although, in his mind, he was sure that Isabella Swan had been the culprit that had this done to him.

The phone was ringing, and it was taking time before anyone answered it. Finally, the call was answered, and the caller stated the purpose of the call by letting the information be known that Edward Cullen had been arrested and was going to be held for the extradition back to Washington State.
"Thank you for the information and the Chief will be notified." The operator that had answered the call informed the caller.
As soon as the call had been completed, the operator placed a call to inform the Chief about the Cullen arrest in L. A. California. However, the call place to the chief wasn't answered.

Charlie was visiting with his lifelong friend, Billy Black and watching the game of the week with him. And, during the intermission, Charlie was busy catching Billy up on all of the happenings that had been going on with Bella. Both men had a good laugh about the way Bella was standing by her guns and not giving an inch to the Cullen Production Company or its CEO.
"It sounds like our Bella is making that young man walk a very tight rope. But I hate that she is getting so stressed out over all of this business." Billy commented.
"I know; I feel the same. That's why I suggested that she and I make that Alaskan cruise. It gave us time together, but also gave her a chance to relax and to de-stress. The whole trip was enjoyable for the both of us."
"Charlie, I realize that Bella has had a successful career with her writing, but is all of the stress that she is being put under really worth all that she has to go through?" Billy asked with a great deal of concern in his voice as he inquires of his friend.
"You know how Bella has always had her heart set on becoming a writer. You also know how stubborn she can be, just like her old man. So, with that said what more can I add?" Charlie remarked back to his friend with a bit of a chuckle.
After that, both men went back to watching the rest of the game without Charlie even being aware that his office was trying to reach him at home.

After spending such a long time on the phone talking with Alice and Rosalie and the three of them drinking wine together, in a sense, Bella was feeling a bit of a buzz, but not enough to say she was drunk. However, she was feeling no pain, or, the ambition to work on her newest project. Although, she had to admit that she was excited about the news that she would be working on the same project as her cousins. That was something that they each had wanted to happen, but knew that it was always a very, very remote possibility because of the different career choices they had made.
Bella was looking forward to the challenge she knew that she would be facing with doing this project. The challenge was against the CEO of Cullen Productions since she knew that she would be in close contact with Edward Cullen on a regular basis.
Then Bella had to admit to herself that part of that challenge wasn't just Edward, himself, but also what she was feeling towards the man. She felt a strong attraction to him but knew that she wasn't going to allow herself to become another notch on his bedpost. She was going to hold to her position that Edward Cullen show her respect and not treat her as another one of his whores.
These feelings were very unfamiliar to her. She had felt certain sexual stirrings towards other men, but nothing like she was experiencing toward Edward Cullen. Even when they touched, she felt an electric charge going throughout her body. And, she was sure that he felt it also; the widening of his eyes during that time was an indicator that he did.
But she couldn't forget what Alice, Rosalie and even his own brother, Jasper, had told her about Edward awhile back in Seattle about Edward being a playboy. And, since their first meeting none of those three people had been proven wrong. He was a manwhore; a playboy on the prowl for the next lay and she refused to be put in that category.
However, putting her feelings about Edward Cullen aside, Bella was excited about working with her cousins. And, it was that thought that made her realize that she had a lot to do to have things under control during the times that she had to be in L. A , both in Seattle and L. A.

Charlie got home late from Billy's and saw that he had several messages on his answer machine. This made him wonder about who was calling and that if things were so important why didn't he receive a call on his cell phone? That was when he realized that he had forgotten his phone and saw it lying next to his answer machine on the kitchen counter. He had thought he had it on him and had forgotten that the battery had needed to be charged after he had gotten home from work.
After listening to each of the messages which told him the same thing each time, he called the dispatcher at the station to find out what was so damn important. It was after listening to why he was trying to be reached that Charlie felt a smile beginning to spread across his face.
His Bella didn't know that he was going to teach a certain young man a lesson about what was the proper way to treat women.
After Bella had told him everything that had been happening from the time she had gotten back home from her book signing tour to what had transpired in L. A., that was when Charlie knew what he was going to do and did it without hesitation. So, Charlie moved ahead with his plan by contacting a longtime friend in Seattle and had the charges filed to which led to a warrant being issued and the charges were posted on the NCIC. By doing that, Edward Cullen would be arrest and sent back to Washington State to face the charges that were filed there in Seattle where the first action of the sexual harassment had begun.
Now, he was ready to take things to the next step; he was impatiently awaiting word of who would be selected to make the trip to L. A. to bring Edward Cullen back to Washington so the next part of the lesson could be taught.

After spending the night in a jail cell, Edward didn't know anything more than he had last night, and he wasn't any better off than he had been last night.
Edward had been offered his one phone call but had refused to use it. He had no idea who to call. Poor man was hesitant about calling the company attorney or the family lawyer; and he refused to call a member of his family. He wasn't sure how to explain this mess, especially since he didn't understand it himself. He honestly couldn't think of a time when he had sexually harassed a woman.
Also, there would be no end to what he would have to endure from his family once they, that is if they, found out what was happening to him. But, the one thing he was sure about, is that somehow Isabella Swan was responsible for this current situation that he found himself in.
Why she would do this he couldn't understand because he hadn't committed any sort of harassment that he could think of. Sure, he had insinuated his sexual interest of her a few times and even that had happened once in front of his family, but he wouldn't label any of it as harassment.
Edward decided at that moment that he was going to change his approach to how he handled Isabella Swan during her stay in L. A., and she was going to learn what harassment was, only in a manner that she couldn't prove harassment. Revenge was going to be sweet in more ways than one. Edward vowed that to himself and he meant to keep that vow in every sense that he could think of. Isabella Swan was going to learn exactly what was her proper place in Edward Cullen's life for however long he chose to have her involved with him.

Bella did call Charlie to let him know about meeting with Emmett Cullen and told him how well that meeting went. She also informed him of the fact that she would be spending time on and off in L. A. once the filming began.
"Be careful while you are there. Be sure to keep your guard up around that Edward Cullen you told me about. I don't trust him, baby girl. But I do have to say that I'm immensely proud of what you've accomplished for yourself. No father could be any prouder." Charlie told Bella with all sincerity.
"Thanks, Dad. And, I do want you to come visit when you can during the times that I'm in L. A. I know that Alice and Rosalie would enjoy seeing you also."
"Don't worry, I will be taking you up on that offer maybe sooner than you know?"
Father and daughter continued to talk for a few more minutes before hanging up and going about their business.

Emmett was upset that Edward had walked out on the family like he had, but not enough to let it ruin the sense of satisfaction he was feeling over having Isabella Swan's signature on the contract. The whole family continued to celebrate Emmett's success without Edward and refused to allow Edward's attitude to destroy the sense of happiness they all were experiencing due to Emmett's success to be able to do his project.
Esme and Carlisle expressed their happiness on a job well done and on the fact that Emmett was going to be able to work on the project that he truly had his heart set on.
Jasper expressed his congratulations and joy about being able to work with his brother also. Then he added, "I'm also glad that we'll be working with Alice and Rosalie, and that they will be able to work with their cousin."
"Are you talking about the ladies that were visiting with Ms. Swan when she was in the hospital?" Carlisle asked of his two sons.
"Those are the ones." Jasper confirmed for his dad. "Alice is a fashion/costume designer while Rosalie is a model/actress." Jasper continued to explain before Emmett had a chance to comment.
"Well, I noticed that you two seemed to be quite taken with the young ladies during our visit to Ms. Swan. Is there a relationship going on, and how long has it been considered a relationship?" Esme asked impatiently since she was wanting details but was trying to be coy about how she asked for them.
"I met Alice and Rosalie when Edward and I went to Seattle to meet with Ms. Swan and her cousins were there during that time visiting with her. Since then I've been quietly seeing Alice and we've gotten really close." Jasper explained.
But Emmett explained that he became interested in Rosalie as he watched her audition tape and desired to meet her from that point onwards. "And I plan to marry that woman. She's everything that I could possibly want in a wife and more." He finished saying.
Both Carlisle and Esme told both of their sons how happy they were that the guys had finally found the person that was destined to be their lifelong partner.
After that, the party continued without any hiccups or further spoken thoughts about Edward and his attitude. Little did any of them know that Edward was in a heap of trouble.

Charlie placed a call to his friend in Seattle but received no answer, so he left a message requesting a return call. After that he checked in once more with the station to make sure everything was running okay for the night shifts before getting ready for bed.
The next morning as he was about ready to walk out the door heading for work the phone rang. It didn't take long for Charlie to answer and heard the voice of the Seattle Police Commissioner.
"Hey, Charlie, got your message this morning before heading into the office and thought I would return your call."
"Thanks, Mike, I appreciate it. All I was wanting to know was who have you got pegged to go to L. A. to pick up Edward Cullen?"
"The person I have in mind is the person that started all of this to begin with: you and an officer from my office. But you do know that it's going to be a few days before anyone can make the trip to get him.
"We have to submit the necessary paperwork and wait for California to sign off on the extradition before anyone can go. Once I've heard something back, I'll be happy to let you know.
"In the meantime, since Mr. Cullen committed his crime outside the State of California, I have requested that no bail be granted for fear of a flight risk. That way the young man will remain in jail until we can get him."
"Thanks, Mike, that sounds great."
After a bit more conversation, both men hung up and headed off to work.
A/N: Okay, so now we know who brought charges against Edward and why. Poor Edward is in for a rude awakening while he is blaming the wrong person for his predicament. Also, Bella, like the rest of his family, is very much unaware of what is happening to Edward and the fact that her father started it. Who is Edward finally going to get a hold of to try to get him out of jail? What is going to be his reaction if the court upholds Seattle's request of no bail?
