I DREAM OF RAINBOWS

Disclaimer: The Cullen's, the Swans, and most of the characters mentioned in the story that are known from Stephanie Meyer's beloved Twilight Saga, are all hers and hers alone. I neither have nor wish to pass them off as mine. I do appreciate the fact that she did bring them to life and allows us to play with them in our imaginations. The only thing I will claim is the current storyline.

"In the meantime, since Mr. Cullen committed his crime outside the State of California, I have requested that no bail be granted for fear of a flight risk. That way the young man will remain in jail until we can get him."

"Thanks, Mike, that sounds great."

After a bit more conversation, both men hung up and headed off to work.

CHAPTER 35: OH! EDWARD

Both Jasper and Emmett returned to their offices the next morning, after recovering from all the congratulations and the celebrations, to finally get down to work. A lot needed to be done now that all of the 'I's' have been dotted and all the 't's' have been crossed. And it was probably about midday when both men got a call from Edward's P. A. asking if they knew when Mr. Cullen would be into the office?

This question surprised the brothers since they knew Edward was always the first one into the office. He was very OCD about that habit at times. However, they weren't overly concerned since Edward had been known, rarely, but still it did happen from time to time, to take a day off. They assumed that was what he had decided to do after his behavior from the night before.

Both men remarked that they had no idea where their brother might be at that moment and reminded her that Edward did have a habit from time to time of taking a day off without notice. And, after that conversation, both went back to work on organizing the upcoming film project.

After silently fuming in his cell, Edward decided that he was going to get in touch with Bella, however, he wasn't sure of how to get a hold of her. So, he gave the idea more thought and made the decision to call the private detective that he uses from time to time when he wanted to gain the upper hand over one of his competitors. That man would be able to get word to Isabella Swan about his situation and let her know what had better happen without any hesitation on her part. "After all, she's responsible for me being in this situation." Edward told himself.

"Oh, once I get the hell out of here, that bitch is going to pay for this." He declared aloud to himself; not really caring if anyone heard him or not. Edward was that pissed off about his current predicament.

Just as Edward formulated his plan, his name was called. He had already been booked in and taken back to the general population where he had been assigned a bunk and slept the night in discomfort. Now, he's being called to the front for what he thinks is going to lead to him being given some answers and his release from this hell hole. And in his mind, Edward added the words, 'rat infested', even though no rat was in sight.

But, to Edward's surprise, he was handcuffed and loaded onto a bus to where he found out that he, along with some other prisoners, were being taken to the courthouse for arraignment. During this whole process Edward was wondering when the hell he would be allowed to have his one phone call. And as much as he wanted to ask, none of the guards gave him the time to do so since they were more interested in getting the inmates from one place to the other without allowing any one of them a chance for a possible escape.

The longer Edward was being forced to wait for answers and to make his phone call to put his plan into action, the more he was getting pissed off.

Arriving at the courthouse, the whole procedure that had happened for loading up the prisoners began except only in reverse to unload and confine all of them in the holding cells of the courthouse.

Poor Edward was under the impression that his bail would be set and that as he made his phone call to the private investigator he would be able to have the man post his bail for him and he would be out by evening, if not before then. But, his bubble of hope was busted as the judge read aloud the charges and declared no bond because Seattle had to have time to come get him for extradition back to Washington State.

So, without being given a chance to take control of his mouth, Edward shouted, "Like hell! This is a bunch of shit. I demand that you set my bail so I can get the hell out of here to get this straightened out. Or for you to release me immediately because you have no damn right to be detaining me whatsoever."

"Mr. Cullen, you might be a big name in this city, but you will show some respect for this court or I'll have charges for contempt of court filed against you." The judge didn't hesitate to tell Edward with a great degree of control. The judge's attitude and words had the opposite effect on Edward than what the judge possibly intended.

Edward shot a sharp look of anger at the judge as he looked around the courtroom before shouting, "You are the contemptible one in this kangaroo court. I've done nothing wrong and all of you know it. Just whatever the hell did that bitch tell you, or, more like promise you, is nothing short of the hell storm that I will have raining down upon you once I get the hell out of this son of a bitchin' place. Now do your job and give me my bond so I can get the hell out of this place and away from you assholes."

"No bond as I have previously stated due to the extradition request existing from Washington State. And, while you wait for all of the procedure to be completed for you to be taken back to Washington, Mr. Cullen, you will be servicing seven days for contempt of court charges that are being filed against you.

"Perhaps, it would benefit you if you took that time to consider the seriousness of what is happening to you and the fact of how you have behaved in this court." And with that said the judge banged his gavel and motioned for Edward to be removed from the courtroom.

Edward was so completely enraged by what he felt was the unjustified treatment that he was receiving. He was more determined than ever to make his one phone call to that private investigator to be able to get a hold of Isabella Swan so he could demand that she admit that these stupid charges were nothing more than her trying to get even with him for some made up or imagined injury she seems to feel that he made to her.

Rosalie and Alice were busy trying to make of list of all of the available properties that were located close to their residences for Bella to look over. They wanted something that was going to be between the two locations of their homes. Both women had been lucky in the beginning to find homes that were close to each other and they wanted Bella to be close to both of them.

They were really excited about the fact that they would be able to all work on the same project by helping their cousin's book come to life on the big screen. And, by doing this project, both Rosalie and Alice would be working closely with Emmett and Jasper Cullen. Alice didn't even hesitate about letting Rosalie know about her feelings that everyone was going to be a lot closer by the end of this venture.

"Yeah, that may be for you and Jasper, me and Emmett, but do you have any insight about a guy for Bella?" Rosalie half-jokingly and was halfway serious when she asked Alice.

"What I see for Bella is still in a hazy bubble. I do see a guy, but his features are clouded." Alice answered seriously.

"There's nothing else that you can tell me?"

"Nope. It's like Bella is in conflict and it is making the atmosphere surrounding her and this man extremely murky. It's a heavy veil of a curtain that I can't pierce through to be able to make out greater details." Alice answered.

"Okay, we'll leave that subject for now. I think the best thing that we can do to help Bella is to go check out these places and narrow the list down even further. That way once she does come to choose a place, we won't be taking her all over the place."

Alice was quick to agree with her cousin, so both women decided when to begin looking at the properties. They each had a busy schedule and realized that it was one that they each needed to begin clearing so they would be ready to begin working on the movie.

Bella went about her business, working on her new book while, at the same time, trying to get things in order to begin making trips back and forth to L. A. She knew that chances were she would be spending more time in L. A. than at home, but it would be necessary to get the movie made in a manner that she was hoping that Emmett Cullen had indicated to her that it would be.

While Bella was making decisions as to what she was going to be doing to get ready for the upcoming changes, she was totally unaware of what poor Edward was going through in L. A. In fact, she had no idea of all of the different names that one Edward Cullen was calling, or, even of the ones that he was inventing in his mind to call her. However, none of that would probably have bothered her as much as if she knew of all of the different types of revenges he was concocting to reap havoc upon her as soon as he could without getting caught.

Still in the long run, none of this would likely have bothered her since Bella had been taught by the best, Charlie Swan, on how to take care of herself. Also, he hadn't been shy about giving her enlightenment as to how the minds of the male species think. So, she was really prepared for whatever the man might be planning. But Edward wasn't aware of these facts. It was a lesson that was going to be forthcoming in the future.

So, Bella being unaware about the brewing storm that was waiting in L. A. for her, she continued on with her planning for the upcoming commuting between L. A. and then back to her home in Seattle.

Unbeknownst to his friend in Seattle, Charlie had also called a lifelong friend he had on the police force in L. A. His purpose for doing this was the same as he had in Seattle. He notified the Chief of Police about the sexual harassment that had taken place in L. A. as well of the attack by Edward Cullen because Bella had refused his attentions and called him out about his behavior.

When asked if there had been any witnesses to any of these actions, Charlie didn't hesitate to answer in the affirmative. He told his friend that the Cullen family and Mark Strollman who happens to be Ms. Swan's agent had been present for most of it.

"Okay, Charlie, as long as there was an independent person besides the family that saw this taking place. You know as well as I how family will stand behind a member that is in trouble with the law nine times out of ten. So, if it had only been other family members present then we would have a hard time making a case, let alone proving the charges against him."

"Believe me, Sam, I'm very much aware of how hard it would be to prove the charges if it had only been family members." Charlie replied.

"I'll file the charges and then send someone out to talk with the family to see what they have to say about all of this. And, I can tell you right now that Mr. Cullen had his arraignment today concerning the charges in Seattle and he picked up another charge because of the way he behaved in court."

"Thanks for letting me know. I should be seeing you in a few days. Mike has indicated that I'll be one member of the party that will be coming to pick Edward Cullen up for his trip back to Seattle."

After a bit more discussion of the case both Charlie and Sam ended the call and went about taking care of business in their own districts.

Edward sat fuming in his cell being totally unaware of the war that was being launched against him by an irate father. The only person that can bring all of this to a halt is completely unaware of what is or will be happening to Edward and his family.

Even the Cullen family is about to be hit with a runaway train since they are about to find out about Edward's problems.

A/N: Charlie is after Edward's ass and isn't going about it halfway. All of the secrets that Edward thought he could keep hidden from the family is about to be revealed. What is going to be their reaction? Will they all stand by Edward or decide that he needs to learn a lesson? Who will be the one to let Bella know what is going on? What will be her reaction to all of this? Will the family blame her for what is happening to a son of the family?
