Middle School was coming to an end soon. All of the students were turning in their forms in which they were choosing which high school they wanted to attend, some taking their preferred schools prelim test to figure out their chances. Yuuma sat at his desk with a troubled look on his face, holding on to that still empty piece of paper. So many thoughts were swirling through his head. What did he want for his future? Where did he want to go? What did he want to do?
He wanted to help people, so maybe a doctor? He knew of a certain 'youthful' heroine that was ecstatic when he'd discovered his psychic healing ability and wanted him under her wing. She works as a nurse at that school. He loved to learn, so maybe a scholar? He knew a certain tired grumpy hobo-looking someone who worked at a certain school, which also happened to be that school as well. He was very good at his job despite his disposition. The curriculum at this school was top notch with the best resources at their disposal.
That school was also where his mom and dad had graduated, it's where they met, and where they forged their friendship which eventually became a lot more. There were so many different reasons to pick this particular school, no matter how hard it was to get in. Yuuma had studied relentlessly, and his aunt used whatever spare time she had to help him train. He was proud of how much his stamina had improved over the years.
His aunt, she'd gave him something to think about in their last training session.
-Yesterday Afternoon-
"Yuuma, have you decided what you want to do? Where you want to go?" She asked, them having taken a short break from his physical training. Over the years they'd discovered that the stronger his body is, the more he can do with his abilities. So along with focusing on his now acute control, they'd been working on increasing his stamina. Of course, this part of his training was without the use of his abilities. At first, he could barely do anything without passing out in a sweating heap, but after 6 years, his stamina showed great improvement!
"There are a lot of things I've thought about doing." He started, "With my healing ability, I could help a lot of people by being a doctor. I love learning and helping others learn subjects they have trouble on, so maybe I could also be a teacher. There are a lot of things I've considered..."
"But?"
"But... none of them feel right. I don't know why, Auntie... After all of the time I put into trying to figure it out, you'd think I'd of found the answer by now..."
75%
With that, she scooted closer to him until she was directly beside him. "Yuuma." She said softly. He looked up to her, meeting her warm gaze with a curious anticipation. "You've always been smarter and more mature than the kids your age. You still have the innocence of a child, but you comprehend things like an adult."
"What do you mean, Auntie? Isn't it a good thing that I'm smart?" He asked.
She sighed, smiling as she answered his questions. "Yes, it's a good thing, but it also isn't. See, you're always thinking with this," She pointed to his head, "instead of with this." Her finger traveled down to the center of his chest. His eyes widened with familiarity. "What matters is what's in here, kid."
'All that matters is what's in here. I know you can do it if you want to, sweetie.'
"The question I asked isn't meant to be answered with your head, it's meant to be answered with your heart." She got up, deciding that they'd trained enough for the day. Before heading in the house to make dinner, she turned to him, "So, I'll ask again Yuuma: What do you want to do? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to be?"
-Present-
Class had since ended for the day, Katsuki being revealed to be taking a shot at Yuuei. Apparently Izuku was also trying to go to the same school, much to the displeasure of Katsuki. Everyone laughed at his hope, but Yuuma's deadpan stare at them shut them up quickly.
Yuuma was an angel, but that didn't mean he didn't stand up for himself or his friends. Many bullies had tried to laugh and belittle Izuku whenever it came to his dream to be a hero, and as soon as it happened Yuuma was the first to call them out on their nonsense.
"You want to be a hero but your math scores are abysmal. You always need help with science, and Izuku does better than you in P.E, as well as all of the other classes now that I think about it."
Stab.
"Look at your quirk and think for a moment since it's the only thing you seem to rely on: What use is having wings if you can't fly? They aren't big enough to do anything, and I don't even think you can move them. Aren't they simply a decoration? How will a decoration save people or apprehend villains?"
Stab. Stab.
"You want to belittle Izuku because he doesn't have a quirk, but isn't having a useless quirk the same as being quirkless? Why do you feel the need to call his dream a joke and unattainable without a quirk if you are basically in the same position?"
Stab. Stab. Stab.
"You have the same potential to be a hero as Izuku does. All you have to do is work hard and try your best. The first thing you should work on is not bullying people and being nicer to people in general. I wish you the best of luck, please have a wonderful rest of your day."
Critical Hit!
What made it that much worse was that Yuuma was being absolutely polite during the entire ordeal. He had no hate in his eyes, there was no cold tone in his voice. He was just stating the facts as they were in a very blunt way. He left no room for argument, leaving the other party thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed.
Yuuma, The King of Reality Checks.
They left without another word. They could not refute nor defend themselves because he was both right and polite about it all. Spending almost half a year with the child, everyone quickly learned how kind he was and how willing to help he was. Heck, they were sure he'd helped everyone in their grade with something at one point or another.
Katsuki cast a last glance at the boy before leaving with his lackeys. His way of saying "Bye" without being 'soft'.
Soon after saying his goodbyes, Izuku said goodbye too, leaving Yuuma alone in the room. He still hadn't put down his answers, and was in deep thought. He closed his eyes, letting out a silent breath as a ghost of a smile graced his lips. He didn't need to think about it anymore. Once he turned it in, his teacher looked at him with wide eyes. "Are you sure about this Kageyama-san? It'll be very hard."
Yuuma looked at his teacher with determined eyes and nodded. "I know, but... I want to try, with all my heart." His eyes lit up more than they had in a very long time, and the teacher gave him a warm smile. "Alrighty then, Kageyama. If anyone can do it, it's you. I don't believe I've had a better student. Good luck."
"Thank you, Sensei." He bowed, "Bye now!" He waved, leaving the classroom.
He felt the need to thank his aunt and cousin many times when he got home. Without their help all of these years, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to make the decision he'd just made. He wasn't sure if he would even be here if it weren't for them. He was sure he would be utterly lost and broken, the sorrow and pain would been too much for him to bare.
He could never thank them enough.
Walking down the sidewalk, he spots the arcade Katsuki and his lackeys frequented. He'd seen him often outside of school at the spot. As he walked closer to say hello like he usually did, a chill went up his spine. This ominous presence he felt, the ill intent behind them made his fair skin pale by three shades. He found his short legs going from a leisurely walk to a sprint.
Something was wrong, very very wrong.

Soon enough he heard the explosions. As he got closer, he saw that people had gathered. What were they doing just standing there?! As he weaved his way though the crowd, he found a head of curly green hair. Making his way to it, he saw Izuku with an expression he'd never seen on his face before. What was that emotion? Horror? Dread? Why was he making a face like that? What was happening? Something was wrong, he knew it!
"Izuku-nii what's..." When he looked to where Izuku was staring at, he quickly figured out why. The same emotions flew through his entire being like a tsunami crashing upon a shore. He felt his stomach twist in knots as his small legs trudged closer to the horrible scene in front of him. "No... no..."
Katsuki was being held hostage by a villain. It was an icky green sludge with a foul smell that had trapped Katsuki inside of it. The explosions were caused by Katsuki himself in his futile attempts to get away from it, but Yuuma could tell that they were steadily getting weaker and weaker. He was suffocating, Yuuma could tell by the flicker and flare of his usually explosive energy. It was hurting him!

Katsuki was fighting, and he was losing, and he was scared. The usually crass and foul tempered boy who always boast about his strength and dream to take the number one spot among heroes... he was terrified right now. Yuuma didn't have to see his energy to notice that fearful look in his eyes.
When Yuuma looked to the heroes to see why they weren't going in to save him, he froze on the spot. They were standing in place watching the scene as if there was no hope for Katsuki, as if they'd already given up. Why? Why were they making those faces? What was with those expressions?

"We have to wait until someone with a better suited quirk gets here!"
.
.
.
...What?
What kind of bullshit was that? Did he hear that right? There is no way that's what they're doing. They are waiting for someone to magically drop from the sky with a wonder quirk? Did they not think of other options, alternatives, did they just look at this villains quirk and decide "oh, snap I can't hit it normally so imma wait for someone who can"?
So they are going to stand by and wait?
95%
Katsuki can't wait that long!
Izuku ran in without hesitation, ignoring the protest of the useless heroes present. He threw his backpack up, distracting the sludge villain just enough for him to let go of Katsuki enough for him to breathe. He retched and coughed, heaving the icky sludge that had gotten into his lungs. "What are you doing, Deku?!" Katsuki yelled at him, the fear clear in his eyes.
No one else would have noticed it, but Yuuma could see that Katsuki was worried about the other's well being. As much as they appeared to hate each other, at one point in time they had been childhood friends.
"You... looked like you were asking for help.." Izuku answered with a shaky smile. All of this was happening, yet the heroes still had yet to move. Why?
Why weren't they even trying?
Was it because they were scared? At the slightest possibility that their own well being was in danger, they didn't want to get involved? This realization sank in. It felt like needles pricking at his skin as a wave of something he hadn't allowed himself to feel in years began to surge to the surface. Nothing about this was right, nothing. How dare this villain try to hurt his friends? People are just watching, some even have out their phones.
They are watching a child suffocate and call themselves heroes? Call themselves people? Ridiculous, completely and absolutely. Yuuma felt the energy in him fluctuate and grow along with this annoying sensation he felt creep out of the emotion box in his mind. He felt the pinpricks on his skin as his veins bulged from the energy flowing into them like a flood. Yuuma didn't realize the frown deepening on his face or the growl that escaped his throat.

Something in Yuuma awoke.
'Never be too afraid to do the right thing.'
'A hero is someone who protects people and their futures.'
'Yuuma, what do you want to be?'
'Please don't go!'

His mind was screaming at him. So many things could go wrong. Don't do this. What if he hurt them? What if he can't help them? What if the heroes try to stop him? What would his cousin say to this? What would his Aunt say? What would the heroes say? What if what if whatifwhatifwhatif—
'I'm sorry, buddy'
Yuuma didn't want to go through that kind of loss again. He didn't want to ever feel that helpless ever again, that hopeless, that lost, he never wanted to feel it again. He couldn't bare it a second time.
'I'm so sorry, Yuuma..'
And the looks on his friends' faces, they were expressions he never wanted them to ever dawn. This filth had the nerve to make them feel this way? The heroes present were going to allow this to continue?
"How dare you..." He whispered. His hair began to rise and sway as as the calming blue energy he'd once had changed to a violent blaze. "How dare you..." He walked on, the air gaining an icy chill despite the explosions ravaging the place. The sludge villain attention was caught by the small boy approaching them. Katsuki and Izuku also looked over to him, wanting to yell for him to get away from there, but...
His eyes.
They were a vibrant crimson. His gaze was sharp enough to cut as his features hardened into a scowl that could almost rival Katsuki's. It looked so foreign against his normally neutral features, and had been the most emotion they'd ever seen him display aside from mild annoyance, confusion, or joy.
He snarled viciously as he made his way through the crowd of useless onlookers. "You're in the way." He waved his hand back and it sent a wave of energy strong enough to push all of them back a few feet, effectively getting them behind the safety line that they'd been blatantly ignoring trying to get a 'better look'.
The very thought made the young boy's scowl deepen. Katsuki and Izuku were stunned into silence as they watched him make his way to them. They'd never seen him like this. It was the first time he let any of his emotions show openly like this. The pressure around them was heavy and thick, one could almost taste the tension in the air. Yuuma was doing this? Their Yuuma, who they knew never liked altercations?
This was the first time they had ever seen Yuuma100% Angry.
"Get away from them you stupid piece of sewage roaming filth!"
Yuuma's special glow wrapped around the villain entirely, a simple flick forcing it off of Katsuki and Izuku with ease. Using his other hand, he grabbed the boys using his telekinesis and pulled them towards the heroes. The burning building around them began to creak and shake, pieces of rubble beginning to float and break because of the sheer strain put on them by the pressure Yuuma was emitting via his surging psychic energy.
Even the ground beneath him was cracking.
Yuuma held his stance, hand outstretched as he kept the villain from moving.
"You brat! I'll- wait what, I can't move? Why can't I move?!" He struggled, trying his hardest to break free of whatever was gripping him. Nothing he did was working, in fact, it seemed to be getting stronger. He shouted curses as he continued his futile attempts, Yuuma not giving him the time of day. The heroes were in shock and awe at his display of power, which went on to infuriate Yuuma silently.
"Do. Your. Job." He growled. The heroes flinched at the cold tone the boy threw at them. "I can not keep this up." As angry as he was right now he did not want to hurt the villain, and as angry as he was at the heroes they were still heroes. Once he saw that the heroes present finally got their wits about them and started doing their jobs, Yuuma let his grip slip as it was no longer needed. Now that the hostage was in the clear they no longer had to worry about potentially hurting him or themselves trying to save him.
"I truly am pathetic." He heard someone whisper. Just as soon as his anger came, it vanished, replaced with an overwhelming exhaustion and tore through his entire little body. Just like that, the battle was over and for some reason it started to rain. Snapping out of their trance upon the appearance of All Might and the inevitable defeat of the villain, the two boys ran to the small figure who'd saved both of them.
"Yuuma!" Both of them said, the boy not responding to them at all. He was in a daze, slowly looking towards them. Whatever that was from before had gone, and he was back to his usual self again. He stumbled a bit, but still managed to catch himself. Why was he so tired? "Yuuma are you okay?!" He could hear Izuku, but it took him a minute to answer that he was fine. He shook it off, trying to regain his bearings. That was the first time he'd been in a state like that.
What was that?
0%
"Are you two okay? Did you get hurt? I didn't hurt you when I pulled you out did I? You're okay, right?!" Yuuma asked, ignoring his fatigue. All that mattered to him right now was whether they were okay or not. He needed them to be okay.
"Yeah, I'm fine Yuuma-chan. Thanks."
Katsuki scoffed, looking away with a withdrawn scowl. "I didn't need any help, brat! I was just fine on my own!"
"But you were scared, Katsuki-nii." Yuuma said, matter-of-factly.
"No I wasn't!"
"But you're trembling."
"With anger Chibi!"
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Worry about yourself, Bowl-Cut! You sound terrible."
"You don't sound much different, though, are you sure you're okay? Does your head hurt? Does your chest hurt?"
"Damnit, you! You ain't my old man!"
"I'm not old yet, I'm 11." Yuuma answered matter-of-factly.
"What... am I witnessing?" Izuku sweat dropped, staring at the two of them going back and forth.
"Shut up, Deku! I ain't need your help either!"
"You're welcome, Kacchan."
"WHAT YOU SAY NERD?!" This continued until the authorities arrived before them. Yuuma instantaneously frowned at their approach. The boys noticed this drastic change in him, it was rare for Yuuma to smile, but even rarer for him to frown.
The heroes surrounded all three of them. Izuku was being reprimanded for charging in like that, and Yuuma was being praised for managing to get both of them out of the way without hurting them while also being reprimanded for the same reason. Katsuki was basically being praised for surviving and getting saved, which didn't sit well with him at all.
But honestly, Yuuma was way too tired for that. His eyes were heavy and his body was screaming for rest as if he'd strained every muscle. But why? What had he just done that was different from what he normally did?
Oh, he didn't restrain his emotions. That must of added to his abilities like a sort of boost. That boost must be why he feels so drained right now.
"Why did you jump in like that? You could have gotten seriously injured!" Was the only thing he had heard from that entire lecture. But, he didn't feel the need to apologize for not listening, he was too tired for that. The least he could do was answer the question.
"I was... upset," Yuuma answered. "No one was doing anything; just waiting around like some miracle was going to drop from the sky. 'We have to wait until someone with a better suited quirk gets here'? I don't think I've ever heard something so stupid."
Stab.
At that, the heroes visibly winced, but Yuuma didn't notice and if he had, didn't care. "So, instead of waiting for my friend to die because you were too scared to do anything about it, I decided to do it myself. "
"Now listen here you little—"
"No, you listen. What hero watches a child suffocate? Apparently, the heroes in front of me, because that's exactly what you all did: Watched. Like a bunch of bystanders in a crowd."
Stab. Stab.
"I have never felt more frustrated or disappointed in my life. Did you actually graduate from hero schools? Did your training teach you "if your quirk isn't right then it's hopeless don't even try to save the victim"? I know I don't know everything, and I know that maybe there were other factors at play that I didn't see. I'm not saying it wasn't foolish of me and Izuku to step in like we did. But tell me, would you have been able to live with it on your conscious? The fact you let a child die because you were scared of losing? I know I couldn't, but hey, from what I've seen today you guys must be different."
Stab. Stab. Stab. Stab! Call the Medic!
Yuuma chewed into them with a cold distain. This wasn't a polite banter, he was furious with these people.
"Yuuma-chan, I think that's enough." Izuku said finally, not really sure how to take this new side of Yuuma he was seeing. It was the first time they had ever seen him ticked off, it was to the point they thought nothing could make him really mad.
Looks like they were very wrong.
The little boy looked up to each of the heroes in from of him, who were all eyeing him with shock and varying degrees of shame. "No it isn't, Izuku-nii. I need to say this. They wanted an answer so I'm going to give them one." He said and continued. "Honestly speaking, I'm very upset with all of you, and I don't think I will forgive you for being so stupid. The sludge villain's body may have been intangible but if you looked hard enough you would have noticed his eyes were a weak point. Izuku-nii was able to see that and was able to distract the villain long enough to get Katsuki-nii out for him to breathe. You all could have done that even easier and succeeded in saving him, but you were too afraid."
Both Katsuki and Izuku were looking at the boy with wide eyes. The degree of shock they felt was on a whole other level. They'd known since the day they met him that Yuuma didn't hold back his honest opinions. He gave them to you bluntly, directly, and to your face so it was crystal clear. It was a fact that sometimes this didn't go over well and he ended up hurting feelings, but he always told them the truth and the people around him respected him for that. If it hurt someone, he would apologize because it was never his intention.
This however was different.
He just told off a bunch of heroes with a straight face. No, he looked so done with them that it wasn't even funny anymore. He didn't give a damn if he hurt their precious feelings with this scolding because he felt this was something they needed to hear. They had never seen Yuuma openly upset with anyone or anything, ever! No, this wasn't anger they were seeing.
It was disappointment.
He was absolutely disappointed in these people. And the fact that they were heroes only made that disappointment worse. Every single one of them looked down in shame. They were being reprimanded by a child! And to make it worse, they could say nothing to defend themselves because all of it was true. And they called themselves heroes?
Yeah, Yuuma made sure they had their reality thoroughly checked. After he took a breath and let what he'd just said sink in a bit, he continued. A little calmer, a littler softer. A little less agitated than before. He'd already hit them with the stick, it was time to give them a carrot.
"I hope that in the future you do better. I may not know everything, but I know that every experience in life is something one learns from to grow to be better people. So please, learn from this day and become better heroes. I was told that a hero protects people and their futures, no matter what. They don't have to be big and strong, or super fast. Never be afraid to do the right thing. Never be afraid to try. I... that's the type of person I want to grow up to be. That's the type of hero I want to be."
The heroes were left completely and utterly speechless. What could they possibly say to that?
Katsuki and Izuku were speechless for a different reason entirely.
It took a moment for the older boys to let what Yuuma had just said sink in, and when it did they couldn't stop the smile that crept up on their face. Whenever they'd spoken about their dreams, Yuuma always seemed to distance himself. He was unsure of himself, and wasn't sure what it was that he wanted for his future. What came easily to them in terms of emotions and dreams, Yuuma had to work a little harder to figure out.
The incident that they'd just been apart of was terrifying, but both of them felt the pride swelling at the breakthrough the boy in front of them was making. No one else noticed, but they did. That look in his eyes, it told them that he'd finally achieved that.
"Well I'll be damned." Was all Katsuki could mutter as he looked upon the younger boy with a sense of swelling pride. Izuku's eyes were sparkling as he gazed at the Yuuma with obvious glee at their shared dream. And the heroes were left stunned, unable to say anything or unwilling to state their thoughts.
After a moment of admirable silence, the paramedics pushed the heroes out of the way to check the children, in which Yuuma finally and promptly, let himself succumb to the sweet embrace of sleep. He would have blissful dreams filled with vanilla milk and cookies. Ah, truly a heavenly dream.
He did not see a certain broccoli boy and an explosive pomeranian panicking as he passed out. He'd figured out his dream, saved his friends, reprimanded heroes, and found out somethin new about his quirk.
What a day.
When he got home that night he was scolded first, and then bear hugged by both his aunt and cousin. When he told his aunt about his final decision, a sad smile graced her face. It went unnoticed by the overly excited Ritsu who was gushing about how awesome his nii-san was going to be as a hero. After Ritsu had retired for the night, she and Yuuma sat to have a talk.
Sitting in front of the small shrine they'd made to honor his parents, there was a silence between them for a while. That was, until Airi finally broke it. "Why do you want to be a hero, Yuuma?"
He took a moment to register the question. He didn't turn to look at her, only staring at his parent's photo at the center of the shrine with numerous sets of their favorite flowers adorning it.
"That day, I was so helpless." He started, tightening his small fists. "I always thought that I'd never be enough to be a hero, so I pushed that dream to the furthest parts of my mind. No matter how versatile my quirk is, I couldn't do anything when I needed to. So naturally, I wanted to do something more realistic instead. Be a teacher, a doctor, a scientist... but today? Today I did something. I was there, I could reach them, I protected them..."
"Yuuma..."
"I'm not that helpless, empty boy anymore, Auntie. I was able to do what Mom, Dad, and you taught me. I was able to protect something precious to me this time. I wasn't afraid to do the right thing. I was so sure that being a hero was too far fetched a dream for me, but Auntie... is it? Can I do it?"
His aunt pulled him closer, embracing him gently as she whispered the words she was sure his parents had told him so long ago. "Yes, Yuuma. I know that you can be a hero. Your mom and dad knew it too, and I know that they would be so proud of you. You'll make us proud."
The young boy didn't stop the tears as he nodded his head. He'd taken his first step toward his dream. A dream he'd held back for so long. It felt so... relieving. Like a weight had been lifted off of him.
"Just so you know, You're training for the next 10 months is going to be hell. So be ready. I'm going teach you like I teach my team in the force. We've been going easy these past 6 years, but if you're trying to be a hero, that's not going to be enough, kid."
"Right!" Yuuma said, the determined fire burning bright in his eyes. But he gasped soon after, realizing the implications of those words. "Wait, that was easy?!"
Airi let herself smirk evilly. If he was sure about this, then she was going to make sure he was ready. The child was already going through the same training, albeit a watered down version, that she gave her team on the force. He probably doesn't even realize how much of a monster he already is. Now that he had his sights set on being a hero, it was about time she upped the difficulty.
"Be prepared to go through Hell!"
And so began what could officially be dubbed his hero training.
-Months later, At a confidential meeting hall-
Yuuma's decision to attend Yuuei was met with a few problems. The government that had been keeping an eye on his training with his aunt, Officer Kageyama, were happy to learn that someone with such promising abilities wanted to pursue the career of Pro Hero. If he hadn't, they would have strongly suggested he do so because of his talent. So no, the problem wasn't whether or not they wanted him to do so. No.
It was his age.
Yuuma was much too young to be thrown into the same lot as the future heroes in training. There was no need for him to try and go there so soon, and the government, the more sensible of them, wanted him to wait until he was at least 15 to try his luck at the school.
Well, luck wasn't really needed, since they were sure to give him their recommendation, and there were a few particular heroes who were more than willing to give him a recommendation to attend the school. And even then, with the training that Yuuma received from his aunt about battle ever since he was a child, he was more than capable of getting through the entrance exams that were ten months away.
Then there were the idiots, who only saw Yuuma for his power. "There hasn't been a quirk like his since quirks first started manifesting! What use is a magnificent blade if no one is willing to use it!"
And it was around that time when his aunt would promptly go to the other side of the conference table and slam the official's head down hard enough to make his nose bleed. "My nephew is not some weapon!"
Another official stepped up, "I understand what you are saying, Lt. Kageyama, but you of all people must know the amount of power he wields. I wouldn't suggest throwing him into this type of field this early either, but there are also positives that we have to look at involving that decision. Now, I beg for you to release him, I believe you broke his nose..."
"He's lucky I didn't break more for spouting such nonsense." She spat, letting go of the clump of hair she'd been mercilessly been holding to keep the official's head planted on the table. "Get out." She hissed, earning a whimper from him as he hurriedly made himself scarce.
Everyone was glad they weren't the ones on her bad side.
She was the Lieutenant Commander of the Special Combat Forces, a special branch of the police force that deals with the more underground and vicious of threats in the country. Her battle prowess and wit made her unrivaled in most terms. After the death of her sister, she'd been working a lot more, quickly earning her a promotion. She would have been at least in the top twenty, if not ten, if she got the license to be a hero.
With so much potential to be a great hero, why didn't she? It was a thought that had crossed all of their minds at one point in time.
Airi Kageyama, she had piercing deep red eyes that seemed to analyze one's every move. Her hair was deep brown, hanging over her right shoulder in a loose hair tie. Fair skin, full lips, thin eye brows, long eye lashes, she was gorgeous. She was stood at 5' 9" and had fat in all the right places. But she had power, authority, and a successful track record to keep up with the level of her beauty. She could take out a room full of grown, trained men with ease. and had. Many times. To top it all off, she had partnered up with many Top Heroes on cases over the years. Even All Might had asked for her assistance on a few occasions.
When she was asked why she hadn't become a hero even with all of these achievement under her belt, she simply said that she liked police work much better. She always has a hidden camera recorder on her that she turns on and off whenever she finds something suspicious, and she has legal grounds to investigate such things even if the police themselves don't know about it before hand. And she was fantastic at her job. The hero image just wasn't for her, even though she is called the Hero of the Police Department.
"Today's meeting is about a certain student. This student has accelerated through grades and is at the high school level of learning. He'll be 12 by the next school term." Airi began. "I've been training this student with his quirk for the past 6 years, and I can vouch for his outstanding control over what would be considered an SS-Class Quirk. Because he is already at the high school learning level, he gave an application applying him for Yuuei."
"And that's where the problem is, correct?" Asked one of the officials.
"Yes." Said one of the older officials, "By the time the term starts for the hero course, assuming that he passes the entrance exams, he would still be only 12 years old. Personally, I am conflicted sending such a young child into such a field."
"But he has as much knowledge and practice, if not more so, than the students potentially entering the course. But the problem with him being younger than his peers is what's causing the issue, as stupid as it is."
"Why would that be stupid?!" Another official exclaimed.
"Even if they are three years older, aren't all of them still inexperienced children?"
This caused them silence, so the official who brought the point up continued. "There is no telling what horrors lie in wait out there. The sooner the next generation is ready, the better off they will be. I am the same as all of you, I do not want children being thrown into a potentially life threatening career. But, this world is not kind. Sooner or later, these children will come face to face with the darker side of this society. Yes, he is young, but that does not mean he is not capable."
Silence. Absolute silence, until it was broken by our favorite aunt. "My Yuuma isn't some weak child as most of you seem to believe. I've taught him the world ain't pretty, and I've put him through my training regiment."
"Do you mean Hell's Regiment? Isn't that the training you set for your team?! It's meant to make boys into men and men into beast! You put him through that training regimen?!" One of the officials exclaimed.
"A watered down version of it, didn't want to kill the kid. But yes, the very same." She said, a shit-eating devil's grin on her face. "He had a hard time with it at first, but after the first few months he showed more progress than some of my soldiers. Even if his body isn't as physically strong, he makes up for it with his reflexes and quirk control. That doesn't mean he isn't formidable without his quirk, either, I made sure of that."
Everyone visibly shivered. Airi was known as a demon when it came to strict training. Of course, she was lenient with her nephew, but that didn't mean she held back on him. She made sure to engrave that training into his mind, body, and soul from the moment they started it. With a devil's smirk on his face she continued, "I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to teach those brats something instead. This isn't some favoritism either so don't come at me with that nonsense. I'm not sending my nephew to an early grave. I say let him enter and try his luck."
The gathered officials all collectively shivered once again. 'What kind of monster did she create in those 6 years?!' "A-all in favor of this decision?" With a show of hands after being given some time to think, the meeting was adjourned and all of the officials went their ways. Left alone, she let out a sigh and stared at the ceiling.
"The rest will be up to you, Yuu-chan." But she knew that he wouldn't let him down. She didn't give out praise easily. As soft as Yuuma might seem, when placed in an environment where he has to fight, he becomes an absolute beast disguised as a small statured boy. She couldn't stop the grin on her face. "They won't know what hit them."
[A/N] This has to be the longest chapter by far, and my mind is blown. I thought about splitting it, but decided against it. I hope you enjoyed this! And also, fighting scenes are not my best skill... My quirk is Idea Generation, not Idea Execution, but I try my best.
See you next chapter!
